Proculsexual is an ace-spectrum label that means someone who attracted exclusively to people who are unobtainable or attracted to unobtainable to the point it influences their identity. So that's definitely something you can look into if you're interested, Anon.
You could also look into gray-asexuality, which is that gray area between feeling like you're fully asexual or fully allosexual. And whether you choose to identify with it or not, it's a good place to find discussion on being on the asexual spectrum while experiencing some level of sexual attraction and/or being sex favourable.
I would say some common signs that you're likely ace would include things like feeling alienated of disconnected from allosexuality; feeling like you're not experiencing things you're expected to; assuming people have been exaggerating things they're experiencing or joking only to one day learn they're not; assuming people are less sexual than they are because you're assuming your own experiences are universal; not understanding what the big deal is about sex or thinking people get way too hung up on it sometimes.

Okay, here's the thing. I can see some people having an...issue with how I write Anna's asexuality in Null, mainly because there seems to be the prevailing misconception that if someone doesn't feel sexual attraction, it must mean they never want to have sex. Which isn't true. Are there asexuals that do not want to ever have sex? Yes, there are, I'm not saying there's not. But are there also asexuals who want to have sex, who like the sensation of having sex, who like orgasms, despite the fact that they feel no biological urge to do so? Absolutely, and guess what, they are also asexual. No sexual attraction doesn't mean no sex drive. Asexuality is defined as a state where a person doesn't feel lust or sexual attraction towards another person. It has nothing, or very little, to do with the act of sex itself. For Anna, she's able to have sex. She's able to want to have sex with another person, but for her, it's an expression of trust, not lust, and because of that, she doesn't feel the want to have sex with someone right away because it's extremely rare to trust someone completely upon first meeting them. It's something that's built slowly over time.
Where am I pulling my...inspiration you might call it for Anna's asexuality? My own experiences with it. I do not feel sexual attraction towards other people. I can towards fictional people (known as fictosexual, which is on the asexuality spectrum), or towards certain celebrities because I know it's never going to happen. There's a blanket term for it, hold on, lemme just...
"Proculsexual is an ace-spec identity that describes someone who only feels sexual attraction to individuals who they're sure they can never be in a relationship with, such as fictional characters, celebrities, or individuals who they know would never reciprocate their feelings."
As stated on the tin, that includes fictional characters and celebrities because it's never going to be a reality. It's never going to happen in real life, and that's perfectly fine with me. The fact that it's never going to be a reality doesn't sadden me in the least bit.
I know, even though I've never had sex with another person, that in order for me to be able to, I would need to trust that person completely, as well as be aesthetically attracted to them. For me, for that to happen, both conditions need to be met. It's why I wasn't able to have sex with my ex-fiance. He was very handsome, yes, but he liked to make me feel like an idiot almost on the daily for his own amusement and liked to trash things that I liked or cared about because he thought it was funny. The trust wasn't there. He hurt me so much that I didn't trust him not to hurt me when it came to that.
Anna has not had good experiences when it comes to trusting people enough to have sex with them, as stated in chapter 4 when she talks about the only two guys she's slept with. Her trust was violated pretty quickly afterward, and it left her with some trust issues. Same as my ex building up my trust in him and then tearing it down again for a laugh.
There's also another aspect of asexuality that is kind of covered in the proculsexual blanket, and that is exophilia. Which is the sexual attraction towards "monsters" or "non-humans." Werewolves, vampires, demons, angels, aliens, etc. A lot of people, myself included, feel a kind of...kinship with these individuals because society sees them as the "other", they see them as weird or unnatural. How many times has an ace person had to stomach a member of their family, a friend, or a doctor, suggesting that there's something intrinsically wrong with them. How many times have they been asked in a haughty "I know more than you" tone "Do you think that will ever change?" Or are told "Well, you just haven't met the right person yet." (I get told that last one a lot by my mom, a woman who, when I told her I was having problems wanting to have sex with my ex, she told me to get drunk. This is before I realized I was ace).
Even to the LGBT community (not as whole, but by a vocal minority), we are seen as the "other," we're not "queer" enough to be included. That we don't belong because they've been persecuted against and we haven't been. (Which is just wrong, btw, but whatevs. Saying we haven't been persecuted against while persecuting is just...not ironic, but funny, but not haha funny). We may not have been killed for who we are (or are not) sexually attracted to, but we have had people tell us we're broken, that there's something wrong with us, we have had doctors try to shove pills down our throat in an effort to "fix" us.
What does this have to do with monsterfucking? Knowing all of that, understanding how we feel, is it any shock that we would be attracted to those who, again, are seen as "wrong" by society. This is not teratophilia, which is the sexual attraction to monsters or people with deformities of some kind. (Side note, lumping those with disabilities or deformities in with monsters is just fucked up on so many levels). This is exophilia which is the sexual attraction to non humans because how many times has an asexual person been made to feel non human.
Are all asexuals exophiles? No. Are there exophiles not on the ace spectrum? Probably. Kind of like every square is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is a square.
My point in this looong rambling post is that various sexualities are not a one size fits all label. There are many, many shades in those. Which is why it's called a spectrum. What's true for one person may not be true for another, but that does not make either person any less than what they are.
Listen, I can only write what I've read and researched or what I personally know. If how Anna's asexuality is portrayed doesn't seem "right" to you, please keep in mind that that is how it is for her, and that is how it is for me and many other people on the asexual spectrum. Again, not one size fits all.
And with that, I'm going back to sleep because my alarm is going off in 2.5 hours for work.

okay, so, anon, this may sound strange but Loki tends to confuse a lot of people and ends up being an exception, which is why I would say it’s your choice if you wish to identify as fictosexual/fictionsexual. It could be possible that you’ve explored the character more than others or you sympathize/empathize or that’s just your type or some other reason which is fine too, but yes you would still come under asexual and then proculsexual and then more specifically fictionsexual even if you only feel any romantic/sexual attraction for the one person :)

Hey, so i don't really think I've ever really felt sexual attraction to anyone i know or even have seen in the real world, but i have felt sexual attraction to a few celebrities before. Do you have any idea what this could mean/if this is an experience some aspec people have?
Yes, there's actually a label for that- proculsexual. It's for people who are only sexually attracted to people they can never be in a relationship with. So, celebrities, fictional characters, etc. Celesexual is the term for when it's strictly celebrities.
In my opinion, it makes sense that some acespecs would be sexually attracted to people they have no chance with. After all, even those of us who do experience sexual attraction, might not want it reciprocated for various reasons. (Maybe sex repulsion. Maybe simply being uninterested in sex. Maybe some other reason.) It's like, being sexually attracted to a person who can't reciprocate is "safe." Though it could also be pure coincidence too. Everyone is different.
It's up to you whether you want to identify with these labels, or use a broader term. But it's definitely a thing!
