Base - Tiana (The Princess and the Frog) I picked a Disney character that looked the closest to how I envisioned Alora/Luna in 3D. She was based on or inspired by Tiana (The Princess and the Frog), Edwina Sharma (Bridgerton), and Enola Holmes.

This current version of her is my favorite design because it perfectly fits her personality and character traits and makes her look exactly like how old she is supposed to be. In her old designs, she looks like she's over 17 or 18.

She is what you call “as wise as an owl”. She has a set of curious eyes, an angelic smile, and a brilliant mind. She is sincere, empathetic, wise, and analytical, but sometimes she tends to overthink. She is socially shy and awkward, and may often look serious, but she’s actually pretty funny and a bit feisty once you get to know her. She is also very observant and rarely trusts anyone. She can see through people and read body language. She is the most difficult person to deceive. Like her father, she is a polymath and philomath. She has read almost every book in the library. She likes to understand how everything works and even took up her father’s studies. She’s good at engineering, crafting, and giving advice. Her favorite things to craft are dollhouses and music boxes. She is secretly a foodie and culinary arts is her therapy. She stress-eats a lot. She's a fraternal triplet, but given that she's the youngest, she is often treated like a baby rather than taken seriously by her extended family. In the future, if I have finally settled on the final concept for her original story (with her whole family, especially her brothers), I want to keep the same personality and color palette, which are white, dark blue, and yellow/gold.

Rowan Whitethorn was happy. His life before had been good, wonderful even, and he had been content with it, but now? He was utterly, deeply happy. And the biggest reasons for it were the two whirlwind blonde ladies in his life, Aelin Galathynius and her daughter Alora.

It all had started with Rowan admiring the most beautiful woman from afar during his runs, never finding the courage to approach the woman. Luckily his friend Aedion had known the woman, Aelin, and set them up on a blind date – not that Aedion knew about Rowan admiring Aelin, he still didn’t. All Aedion got to know was that him and Aelin hit it off right away and fell into a comfortable relationship after slowly getting to know each other.

Now Aelin and Rowan ran together in the mornings. He could admire her all he wanted, and not just for a glimpse. He could get lost in that smile of hers that was so bright, it could light up the entire city. Her beautiful hair swinging side to side, as the sunlight brought out the golden colour in the blonde strands. His favorite was her laugh – a sound so wonderful, his heart started fluttering.

But Aelin didn’t come on her own, no. Aelin was part of a package deal. The best deal of Rowan’s life, if you asked him. Alora Galathynius was the sweetest, funniest, most adorable little girl there was, and she had quickly become a part of Rowan’s family along with Aelin.

In fact, they had recently moved in together. Aelin’s house, of course, as his apartment wasn’t spacious enough for the three of them. How they ended up moving together was a funny story too. Both Rowan and Aelin had been toying with the idea in their heads, neither having the courage to actually ask the question, merely hinting about it. It was the witty 5-year-old who had stopped the princess movie they had been watching and asked her mother.

“Mommy, when will Wowan come live wif us?”

The question had Aelin immediately turn red and freeze in her seat, while Alora had just continued smiling that cute toothless smile of hers. Rowan had scooped the little girl in his arms and simply stated it was up to her mama. Quickly gathering herself after that, Aelin had asked Rowan if the next week was too soon.

Here they were, a few weeks after having fully merged their lives together, and none of the three would change it for the world.

Rowan loved waking up in the morning with a sleeping Aelin in his arms. He was an early riser, mainly due to his military background, but living with the woman of his dreams had taught him to enjoy the slow mornings as well. More often than not, the energetic little princess would join them and demand to be fed like the royalty she was.

And if Rowan was correct, that would happen in three, two, one..

“Wowan!” Rowan chuckled and shushed the girl.

“Your mommy is still sleeping, Alora. Do you want to join us, or should we go make breakfast already?” He always made sure to give the girl options to choose from, he didn’t want to be one of those parental figures who always told the child what to do.

“Mmm make mommy bweakfast in bed?” The girl looked to be deep in thought, with a finger on her jaw and everything. The sight was so adorable, Rowan thought his heart would burst. He had always wanted a family, and here he now had one. “Yeah, come on Wowan! We buwn daylight here!”

Alora was so funny with the way she absorbed everything she heard and then repeated it. She had once heard Rowan while he had been on a work call, and he’d told the team creating a security plan for a high-profile event that they needed to be faster, as they were practically burning daylight here. Alora had taken those words and they were now one of her favorite things to say. Saying the letter ‘R’ was hard for the little girl, but she was learning it pretty quickly as well, but the ‘W’ sounds she still said often made everything so much cuter.

Pretty much everything Alora did was cute according to Rowan.

“Come on now, princess Alora, let’s go down to the kitchen,” he said and swung the giggling girl on his shoulders and headed downstairs.

The pair decided to make pancakes, with fruit on the side. Alora, as the assistant chef, got the important task of mixing all the ingredients together. Which she did with a scary kind of focus – usually ending up wearing a little bit of the flour. They would sing songs from the princess movies as Rowan cooked the pancakes and Alora would sit by him in her ‘assistant chef chair’ that she demanded be brought over every time Rowan made breakfast.

Once they were done with the food, they piled it all on a tray before making the small trek back up the stairs to wake up the sleeping beauty.

“Mommy awake! We made bweakfast with Wowan!” Alora practically screamed and leaped to the large bed, jumping on her mom. An ‘oomph’ sound was heard, and a chuckle followed as Aelin popped her head out from under the blankets.

“Good morning, darlings! I see I’m getting a royal treatment this morning, what’s the occasion?” Aelin asked while scooching up the bed into a seated position. Alora was more than happy to explain that she was a princess, and her mommy was a queen and they deserved a princess breakfast.

“Alright then, let’s dig in,” Rowan stated and joined the two blondes in eating the pancakes in bed.

It was a Saturday, and Rowan had a day off while Aelin was supposed to head to work for a few hours. Alora had been excited with the prospect of getting to spend the day with Rowan, and she had gone to her room and dragged out all her princess stuff. As Aelin was leaving the house, she stopped for a moment to take a picture that soon became the background on her phone. Rowan, her massive hunk of a boyfriend was seated on the floor while Alora carefully braided his hair and added butterfly clips and a small plastic tiara on his head. Alora herself was wearing the exquisite sparkly tiara Rowan had gifted her the first time they met. It was her most prized possession.

“See you later, loves,” Aelin said over her shoulder and got similar greetings back, then walked out leaving her adorable family to their funny antics.

Alora was focused on her task which allowed Rowan to finish up a book he’d been reading, since the little girl was adamant he couldn’t move until she was finished. Surprisingly, her braiding skills were quite good, and she didn’t even pull Rowan’s hair too much. Just sometimes a strand of hair would get stuck and pulled, making him squeak in surprise, much to Alora’s glee.

“You look weally pwetty, Wowan!” Alora stated and brought a mirror for him to see the masterpiece. He couldn’t deny, the hairstyle was pretty. And he was masculine enough to wear the pink butterfly clips and a tiara with pride, as they were planning to go out soon.

“Thank you, princess! You are absolutely beautiful as well!” Rowan stated and bowed at the giggling girl. “Shall we go now?”

The pair left dressed up in warmer clothing and went to the park, where they fed the ducks and chatted about random stuff, like who their favorite princesses were. Alora also tried to get Rowan to agree on ice cream for dinner, but he wasn’t so easily tricked. Instead, they compromised on homemade pizza and ice cream as dessert.

Once they were back home, Rowan got started on making the dough while Alora settled on the sofa watching another one of her princess movies.

“Wowan,” Alora suddenly popped her head into the kitchen.

“What’s on your mind, little one?” Rowan asked without thinking twice.

“I’m not little!” Alora was shocked that he would dare call her little. “I’m a big pwincess!”

“Ah, my apologies, that you are, miss princess Alora. So, princess, what is on your mind today?” Rowan apologised with a bow again. He loved playing along with the princess stuff.

“Well, I was thinking, you love mommy and mommy loves you, and in the pwincess movies the pwince loves the pwincess and they get mawwied so will you and mommy do that too?”

Okay. That was something Rowan had not expected to come out of the five-year-old’s mouth, but there it was, hanging in the air. And Rowan couldn’t not answer that, especially knowing his answer. He absolutely wanted to get married but was waiting for a sign from Aelin.

“Oh, well, you know when two people are in love, they often get married. But it is something they have to decide together. I would love to marry your mommy. Is that something you would be okay with?” Rowan treaded the topic carefully.

“Yes. You should ask mommy soon. I want to be a b-bdi-bwidesmaid,” Alora stated nonchalantly and left the kitchen again.

Well, that just happened.

Aelin came home not long after that and they ate their dinner and were in the process of creating the most magnificent ice cream dishes. Alora completely had Rowan wrapped around her fingers, as he gave her everything she wanted as a topping on her ice cream.

Aelin found it funny how Alora and Rowan had become so close so soon, but she also loved the fact that her boyfriend and daughter got along so well. They were practically father and daughter in all the ways that mattered – strangers even sometimes came to congratulate Aelin for managing to have a father so invested in their daughter. Aelin just nodded and smiled. She was absolutely sure that no one else could ever be for Alora what Rowan was.

“Mommy, do you wanna mawwy Wowan?” Apparently, the little girl wasn’t letting go of the idea yet, now bombarding her mother with it. Rowan blushed while Aelin almost choked on the spoonful of ice cream she had just swallowed.

“I- well we- I mean I- Yes, I think I do,” Aelin managed to get out in between of her coughs.

“Good! I get to be a bwidesmaid then!” Alora gleefully giggled and danced around the kitchen.

“What just happened?” Aelin asked Rowan as the pair watched the tiny princess bounce around them.

“Uh, well, I think she- I mean, we- uh, are we engaged now?” Rowan was overly flustered and couldn’t form a proper sentence, making Aelin chuckle.

“Well, love, I don’t think it counts if the participants don’t know about an upcoming engagement, so whenever you’re ready, I’m ready to hear the actual question,” she stated and kissed Rowan on the cheek. This prompted Rowan to run out of the kitchen, before returning a few moments later.

His gaze settled on Aelin. It was full of emotions, excitement and happiness, and something that seemed to be nervousness. He slowly settled down on the floor on one knee, before opening the small black velvet box that Aelin had completely missed in his hand. Aelin brought a hand to her mouth, while Alora stopped to stare at the sparkly ring in awe.

“Aelin Galathynius. You entered my life with such a major force, yet I wouldn’t change a thing. You brought me not only yourself as the love of my life, but Alora as a huge bonus. I love the both of you so much and I never want to part with you. You, Aelin, complete my soul in a way I never thought was possible, and I knew from the moment we met that we were destined for an incredible love story. The first time you brought Alora to meet me, I knew I was going to marry you. So, Aelin, my love, my life… will you marry me?” Rowan was tearing up at the sight of the crying woman in front of him.

“Who knew you had such sappy words inside you?” Aelin sobbed. “Yes, oh my gods absolutely yes I will marry you!” She jumped towards Rowan, wrapping her arms around her. Staying in the embrace for a moment, they cried together and gave each other wet kisses before drawing back long enough for Rowan to place the ring on Aelin’s finger. Alora was squealing in happiness next to them, jumping up and down. Rowan grabbed the little girl to join them in their embrace. This was his family.

Later that evening when Alora was already sleeping, Aelin was laying on Rowan’s chest and admiring the sparkly vintage ring.

“Where did you get the ring?” She asked her fiancé. Gods, she would never get tired of hearing that.

“I- well… Well, when we went bowling, you, me and Alora, I knew I wanted to marry you one day, so I called my mother and told her about this incredible woman and her daughter, about how I’d finally met the one. She told me to come by and get her ring, so it would be there when the moment came along. I never thought that I would propose while wearing butterfly clips and a tiara in my head, but I wouldn’t change the moment for any other,” Rowan explained and kissed Aelin’s head. Aelin twisted her head up for a proper kiss.

“I’m so happy, you have no idea. Some people might think we’re moving too fast, but I think this is perfect. I love you, Rowan. Thank you for being in my life.”

“I love you too, Aelin.”

They had been living for a while in the happy bubble of being newly engaged, and their secret didn’t stay very secret for long as Alora kept blurting it out in excitement to everyone, everywhere. He loved the little girl too much to be mad at her though, and both he and Aelin found sharing the news easier when an eager five-year-old did it for them.

Rowan’s parents had found out while they were in the middle of a video call and Alora climbed on Rowan’s lap and practically screamed the news to them. Both of Rowan’s parents loved Alora, and had taken on the roles of honorary grandparents, so their excitement at the news almost reached the level of happiness Alora had.

Aedion had found out when the tiny girl was going on a visit with them, and she had just nonchalantly blurted out how pretty her mommy’s new ring was and ‘Wowan will be a pwince now that he mawwies mommy’. Aedion hadn’t registered the news before Lysandra had started squealing and hugging her best friend. Then Aedion had gleefully taken credit for introducing them.

Their lives had gone on normally after that, except for Rowan’s step having an extra spring to it and Aelin having the seemingly never-ending smile on her face. Everyone around them were so happy for them. Even the strangers in the park couldn’t miss the news as Alora would run around telling everyone how her queen mommy was going to marry prince Rowan.

That day Aelin was running late, so she had asked her fiancé to pick up Alora from kindergarten. Rowan gladly agreed, he was utterly happy to get more responsibility when it came to the adorable 5-year-old he already considered his daughter. Getting to the school building, he had to sign in as he hadn't yet done the pick-up by himself, usually he stayed behind in the car as Aelin swung by the classroom to gather her daughter. The receptionist blinked her eyes twice as Rowan asked for Alora Galathynius, and he could swear he heard her mutter under her breath something about that damn Galathynius woman snatching up that hot piece.

After being guided towards the right direction, he became quite anxious - what if Alora didn't feel comfortable enough in his presence?

Turns out, he was worrying for nothing, as the excited girl ran to him screaming 'Daddy' as he popped his head in through the door.

"Alora, who's that?" One of the other little kids asked.

"That's my Daddy," Alora responded with the brightest smile making Rowan's chest puff in pride and a blinding smile spreading on his face.

"But you don't have a Daddy," the same kid responded with a smirk.

Alora's lip wobbled.

"I do too," she said turning back to Rowan. "You're my Daddy, aren't you?"

"I would love to be if you want me to, and your Mommy is okay with it," the silver-haired man squatted down, smoothing Alora's hair and quietly responding to the girl on the verge of tears.

"Yes! Mommy already said it's ok, but I have to ask you too," the girl stated with so much confidence.

"See, I told you he is my Daddy. Mommy and him are getting married soon and he will be my Daddy then."

Grabbing Alora’s hand, Rowan walked back to her seat to gather her belongings. Saying goodbye to her classmates and teacher, the pair headed out. Excitedly blabbering about her day, Alora held onto Rowan’s hand as the two of them drove home. She was so happy to have a Dad, she never wanted to let go.

Rowan nearly cried when Alora gifted him the picture she had been drawing that day. It was a drawing of the three of them with ‘Mommy’, ‘Alora’ and ‘Daddy’ written in crooked letters, but it had to be the most beautiful thing he had ever been given. He would cherish that forever.

Later that night Rowan actually cried after they had put their adorable little princess to sleep, and she told him ‘Goodnight, Daddy’. Aelin chuckled and dragged the crying silver-haired male into their bedroom and held him tightly. He explained that he’d almost given up on the thought of ever getting a family, then the pair of Galathynius ladies had made him fall hard, and he sometimes woke up thinking it was all a dream.

Aelin assured him that it was very much reality, and that he would never get rid of them. He told her he’d happily be stuck with them for the rest of eternity.

I’m imagining a situation where she cuts her hair in an act of of defiance 💀 it goes terribly of course, all lopsided, and eren’s left to clean it up

she’s very pleased with her new hairstyle in the end but eren does face an intense talking to about his responsibility and how she shouldn’t have been able to cut her hair under his watch in the first place which kicks in orders to truly never leave her side

Oh god, she does it bc she’s getting so restless and lowkey spiraling out of control! She chops all her long hair off and Kiyomi is so affronted bc the look is so unbecoming for royalty!! You’re right that Eren gets reprimanded bc where the hell was he, where he allowed her to (1) get hold of a blade and (2) be left alone long enough to cut her hair!!

He’s definitely upset. Not only because, once again, this girl is making his job way harder than it really needs to be, but also because he’s strangely in mourning. It takes him a couple days to realize that he’s sad he never got to run his fingers through her long, silky hair 😭😭

Lisa: fairy of darkness and the night - not my character but Alora's little sister (3 yrs younger). She can be a little draining for her family as her mental health hasn't been the greatest since she was a child but as she grew into a young woman, Lisa slowly starts to let go of past feelings and moves on to work on herself and her powers.

Florence: headmistress of Alfea, daughter to Faragonda and mother to Cécilia. She has inherited her mother's wise words and warmth to help her students where she can - unfortunately she cannot control her own daughter.

Queen Valam: Minu's mother and a strict queen through and through

Cyra: mermaid of volcanic rock - she and another mermaid are Minu's only friends back home in Andros

Maude: fairy of rust - after running away from home at the ripe age of 17 Treasa went to live with her best friend Maude who then became the fairy's first gf, they broke up when Treasa wanted to study at Alfea

Cherry: Jun's ex from highschool and a sweetheart, these two have no bad blood whatsoever, the breakup was mutual. After she graduated in Solaria she went to earth to start a new life

Adelaide: fairy of dreams - Alora and Lisa's mother. She's a tough woman but melts as soon as she sees her two girls. She became a professional and well loved doctor early on in her adulthood, something her husband, Johan, did not like at all. When Alora was 7 and Lisa 4 Johan started abusing Adelaide, only stopping 3 years later when Adelaide finally filed a divorce.

Ayuna: fairy of ghosts and death - she first starred in my graphic novel 'Lost Spark' as the villain but she'll be the villain throughout s3 of Glowinx! A little detail to her backstory: she used to be one of the major fairies on earth alongside Morgana, Nebula, Diana, Sybilla and Aurora - but being power hungry and having a dark, twisted power she was deemed too dangerous and powerful so she was banished from the circle and never given much attention anymore.
