More random Fairy Tail hcs
When i said Lucy has Zodiac freckles, I meant actual freckles, not magical.(although that is a very pretty picture and i do love it)
She was born with those specific patches, she has yet to make the connection, but her mother did
also she a perfectionist, she gets upset when she cant do things first try
After running away its mellowed slightly but she still refuses to accept and will keep trying until shes at the very least pretty decent
Laxus cant swim
he says its bc of his magic but he just never learned, he tried, and failed numerous times
Erza is allergic to raspberries
she learned this when her bakery was out of strawberry cake so she decided to try something new
that was the last time she did.
also she had braces as a younger teen
Mira has been been arrested a certain number of times she will not disclose, at least 3 tho
Levy used to headbutt people, growing up it lessened but it still happens
Freed cant ride a skateboard
that may be obvious and something you would never think about
but i needed to put the vision in your head of him falling off one
Gray was the clumsiest kid, he could NOT walk more than 5 feet without tripping
Contrary to popular belief, Fairy Tail is an official guild so Makarov has to keep records; Be it property damage, renovations, past jobs and who took them, and personal (criminal and medical) records
When he goes through the personal ones the amount of times he says “oh wow” is concerning (hes weirdly proud tho)
Gildarts always brings something back from his trips for Cana, sometimes its really cheesy father daughter things
Cana acts like it annoys her but she really does love it
Natsu 100% wears light up sketchers
im not sure how old Bickslow was when he joined the guild but he was illiterate up until after he joined
i like to think Makarov taught him with the help of Levy and Erza
Evergreen has perfect posture
idk why i felt this was important but it is
like actually, perfect
its upsetting
also she has two fake teeth, one of her canines (?) and one of her bottom very front teeth

Rambling about Fairies - Manga Chapter 169
Tumblr media
I always felt the wandering-Edolas sequence in the anime was kind of long winded, so it’s nice to see they immediately land in the new clothing assignment house in the manga. Straight to the point instead of dragging out and dilly-dallying, just what I love about Mashima.
Tumblr media
I kinda wonder what the explanation for this house is, though. it kinda reminds me of Porlyusica’s place, especially with the fact it’s close (not really, but conceptually, it’s a convenient nearby hideout for FT, so) to the guild building. The way it’s all clustercore and warehouse-like kind of reminds me of that too.
And it’s shaped like a pumpkin, which stands out sorely in the forest, a contrast to Porlyusica’s house in Earthland. Because here, the FT guild building is the one that blends perfectly into the forest.
Anyways, headcanon this is Porlyusica’s house before she went to Earthland, whenever the long hell ago that was. It would explain why no one ever comes by to chase them out of it.
Which would make the situation ironic, because while they hardly get a minute to stay in Porlyusica’s house on Earthland, here, it’s the exact safe hideout they need to stay as long as they can to settle down after arriving.

Some ideas for you! Take your pick!
Gray frequents the infirmary the most. In one of my ideas lately, after thinking about iced shell, maybe ice make makes the body a bit more…prone to cracking? Maybe he bruises easy and gets a lot of head wounds. It’s why he’s always in bandages longer. I like the idea of Porlyusica getting sick of him.
Team Natsu/the guild/slayers taking care of him, even when he doesn’t realise it. (Against pervs, against himself, maybe people are a bit racist (with him being not from Fiore).
Gray gets sad sometimes and dissociates.
Gray has night terrors so he has sleeping pills, but on missions he also has caffeine tablets to keep him awake so he doesn’t have terrors around them. Safe to say, they aren’t happy when they find this.
Lucy asks Gray about where he’s from, traditions etc, and the guild realises he might be homesick so they secretly try to learn things for him. (Over the years they’ve picked up swear words (Gray doesn’t realise he’s doing it and they’ve never told him))
Gray’s actually quite touch starved. His body temperature is cold so most people stay away/ don’t touch him (but don’t realise they’re doing it). The only one who can stand is Natsu because of his magic. Maybe it gets worse after becoming a slayer.
…also do you take spicy requests?
you cant just give me all these amazing concepts and tell me to pick☹️ i will do a little for all of them if it kills me
Also yes! i absolutely do take nsfw requests! feel free to ask me anything! im surprised it took so long to ask me that tbh
there is a lot here so vv
1.
* Hes the single reason why the guild infirmary is always having to restock
* Due to Grays multiple usages of iced shell some of his body did turn to ice, most sections of his bones, it looks like a normal bones but it acts like ice, which means hes more likely to break a bone
* unfortunately, its not like a normal broken bone for obvious reasons. itll splinter and have hairline cracks all over the bones before it breaks.
* It takes less time to heal than a normal break, he just has to get it wrapped and limit his usage of his magic so it can ‘heal’ (as in, ice it over again) the breaks and cracks. It takes less time to heal and also less pressure to break, win lose situation tbh
* Which is also why head wounds are especially dangerous for him, skull fractures are more common for him than anyone would like, which is to say any at all
* His external body temperature is low and causes him to bruise like a peach, getting a friendly slap on the back can cause him to bruise for weeks, especially from Erza
* bro hasnt gone a day without a bruise in like ten years
* Hes been dragged to Porlyusica so many times now that anytime she sees him (on the field, in her office, even completely out of context and hes not visibly injured) its like second nature to check him out first
* if she could go a month, or even just two weeks! without seeing him she might consider changing her views on humanity (probably not but its the thought that counts)
* Also Gray has small sections of what people think is frostbite on his hands and feet. It doesnt hurt or limit him at all but theyre there, showed up some time post devil slayer magic
* ALSO! His blood runs slower and is darker due to his low body temperature, causes him only the vaguest of problems but its a thing (this is common in most powerful ice wizards)
2.
* Gray likes to pretend hes good at taking care of himself, but hes not hes really not
* Luckily he has a lot of nosy and protective friends thatll do it for him (in their own ways)
* Natsu literally temperature exploding some guys glass at a bar when he got wayyyy too friendly and handsy with Gray
* they were kicked out but he was really proud of himself
* Rogue drawing shadows towards Gray if he needs to sleep and its too bright, or Sting creating a warm light beam when its dark out and Gray wants to embrace his inner cat and sleep in a sunbeam
* Wendy checking him over first bc she knows hes one of the people who wouldnt ask for help if he was injured
* hes had multiple people physically remove him from fights/training sessions because he was visibly pushing himself way too hard
* Part of the reason Gray learned Fioren so fast was because he was sick of people looking at him like he was stupid for not speaking ‘right’
* he mentioned this to the little slayer group they got goin on and from then on out they were like, hella hyper vigilant with anything that could make him insecure like that again
3.
* It really scared him the first couple times he did it, it still does. He hates losing time
* It started happening during his time with Ur, he cant remember a lot of it, training, blink, fighting, blink, training, blink, training, you get the idea
* It doesnt happen often, and he tried not to think of it past the point of trying to get it to stop
* Its happens often when hes highly stressed but theres no immediate physical threat, his brain doesnt understand whats going on or why its so stressed but knows he doesnt need to physically protect himself yet so it mentally protects him (if that makes sense), usually when hes alone, or when a threat is gone
* he confided in Erza about this once, and now more times than not when he ‘wakes up’ shes there talking to him
* only part he feels is good about it is that it makes him exhausted and lets him sleep easier
* He doesn’t usually dissociate often, not that he has much of a choice, if he did it wouldnt happen at all, but it was a lot worse when he was younger, his memories of early fairy tail are all blurry and he felt like he was on autopilot even when he was ‘awake’
* he hates it
4.
* After his team found out abt his vast array of pharmaceuticals they were so confused and concerned and probably borderline paranoid, because who needs that many medications for one person??
* Gray had been taking sleeping pills at a high enough dose to let him have a dreamless sleep for so long that most over the counter brands dont actually work on him
* but he kept all the old bottle that didnt work just in case he got desperate to sleep and they suddenly magically worked again
* The caffeine tablets were self explanatory after seeing all the sleeping meds, but he also (unwillingly) admitted he takes them on missions so he wouldnt wake them if he had a nightmare, and also for days when they were especially bad so he could go long enough without sleep hed just crash and sleep with no issues. Canr have a nightmare if you dont sleep
* His team was also extremely unimpressed by these explanations
* Erza and Natsu (and also Happy) strong armed him into going to Porlyusica for actual helpful solutions since he refused to go to his actual doctor
* While Lucy and Wendy disposed of the full fucking pharmacy (seriously, he coulda started a business or smth) he had in his bedroom
* For some odd reason he felt lighter and less moody when he was on actual helpful medication and was getting genuine rest
* how strange
* and if his team checks his house for another pharmacy in the making thats nobodies business but theirs
* Also Erza tried to ban Gray from caffeine while on a quest , or at least limit it, but he looked at her like she was absolutely batshit crazy to the point she got embarrassed and had to retract the ban
* But she will tie him to the bed to make him sleep on quests if she has to
5.
* The first time Lucy asked where Gray was from was before Galuna, he ended up giving her a shady answer and redirecting the question to her (reminder, before galuna, before phantom lord) which she ended up also being a bit cagey about so she let it go
* But Lucy is nosy (endearing) by nature, so she asked if he had any different holiday type traditions sometime after Galuna, and to the surprise of, well, literally everyone, he did and gave examples
* which lead down a rabbit hole of the guild fretting a bit abt how to make him comfortable (even though hed been with them for a decade) bc he mentioned he used to be really homesick the first couple years, and sometimes still is
* Most the guild still had no clue where he was from so they were really just running in circles for awhile
* Levy tried to figure it out from the time he accidentally dropped, what she assumed to be colorful curse words, random foreign language bits
* didnt really work but she tried
* so for months he was bombarded with ‘subtle’ questions about his hometown and its culture, which got shut down most the time
* Thats not to say he didnt give them anything, he gave them enough that they were incorporated into existing traditions and holidays they already celebrated
* it was a very sweet gesture that Gray absolutely did not tear up at, so shut up—
6.
* Gray is the most touch starved fool on the planet. ive always loved the idea of him liking touch a lot
* He grew up in a pretty affectionate family, his parents were always around to ruffle his hair, or hug, or hold his hand, or carry him, they were just very physically affectionate and he enjoyed it
* With it made him nauseous, guilty really, because Ur and Lyon were also physically affectionate but it wasnt them, it wasnt his family
* Also it was plain uncomfortable at times, part of learning ice magic was to almost numb himself to cold, but in the beginning numbed him to everything and it became uncomfortable to be touched because it was tingly and it hurt
* Early Fairy Tail he was completely closed off, couldnt stand being touched, didnt want to get cozy and make friends because he planned to leave anyways.
* Ice mages (Fire mages also) temperatures can fluctuate depending on how they feel, for example, if they’re experiencing negative emotions their temperature and the space around them will get colder
* and Gray used to be so angry and upset all the time, and hed just beginning to learn magic so he didnt know how to fix it yet, which caused a lot of discomfort for people.
* People didnt stay around him long because the discomfort of being too cold, and what was he gonna do about it? ask them to come back?? hell no
* So he gained a reputation and people didnt want to disrespect a volatile childs apparent boundaries so they didnt question it
* He was fine with fighting being the only real prolonged touch hed get, totally
* But Natsus got this thing about him that makes him think he can do the impossible, which includes shaking Grays world view and comfort levels
* At some point in their teens Natsu would not let go of the alleged fact that Grays didnt like being touched for some reason, so he did what he does best and pressed the issue
* it ended with Gray being a puddle in his lap while he had a crisis about everything he thought he knew about himself while Natsu celebrated his victory against him
* Its not completely public knowledge but the guild most definitely knows at least a little about how much Gray is touch starved
* he doesnt openly welcome it with open arms but if its happening and he trusts the person hes not gonna say no
* he probably gets a euphoria high from a head pat or smth
* After getting his devil slayer magic is absolutely got worse, having two powerful ice magics, one of which he was still struggling to get the hang of, in one body made it difficult to control the temperature around him, and after long enough people would start shivering if he wasnt careful
* it sucked, totally and completely sucked
* Natsu still remained unbothered and would increase his own temperature to counterbalance Grays, which helped a lot
* he still gets all up in Grays space no matter how much Gray tell him to fuck off, he knows he needs it

Or: Gray deals with the side effects of his demon slaying magic
(Fic under the cut)
The whispers started when Gray had absorbed Memento Mori.
Granted, they were hardly noticeable over the cries of Natsu from above. Even if he wasn’t completely aware of their presence at the time, Gray would later admit that those whispers were what motivated him to take down Mard Geer with his bow.
Once the markings disappeared, so did the whispers, and neither returned.
That is, until a few weeks later.
The marking returned mere days after he and Juvia had moved into Amefurashi village. When they first returned, Gray could do nothing but look down at his bare arm and follow the jagged spiral marks up to his shoulders. Then he finally noticed the voices whispering to him.
  Use the magic.
  Find E.N.D.
  Hurt those who’ve wronged you.
  Hurt.
  Hurt.
  Hurt.
Those thoughts were easily shaken away before Juvia had made her presence known. She inquired about what was wrong but Gray had shrugged her question off, preferring to not worry her.
When he had gone to Porlyusica to ask about the markings and whispers. Porlyusica had seemed concerned but reassured Gray that she would do everything she could to help keep his magic at bay. After they worked together to calm his magic, Porlyusica had specified for Gray to return to her if his markings so much as spread an inch further into his body or if the whispers worsen.
Gray had to leave for Erza’s covert mission soon after. As his markings played a part in his disguise, his slaying magic was constantly active, but he never did manage to check in with her once the markings began to grow. Or when the voices became louder .
The voices gnawed at his mind, tempting him into the darkness. It’ll be fine. They would say. You won’t get hurt if you just accept it.
But he couldn’t. He had to follow Porlyusica’s advice and not lose control.
For the most part, that is.
Now and again, when any of the members of Avatar seemed to get suspicious of him, he would let himself sink into the madness a little. He’d let the slaying magic’s claws grab hold of his heart and let that manic grin spread across his face. Gray’s memory always grew hazy around those times he let himself go. It would always be a blur of negative feelings and crazed laughter bubbling up within him.
He hated looking back on it. There was a growing fear that one day, those negative feelings that formed whenever he let himself go would take over. A fear that he’ll lose himself.
It’ll make my act more convincing . He reasoned. Just don’t do it too often and you’ll be fine.
When Natsu, Lucy, and Happy showed up on purification day, there was a small part of him that was relieved. It was a small part of him who knew they’d be a big enough nuisance that he’d have to betray Avatar early and never have to force himself into that dark place ever again.
Gray felt himself relax the slightest bit as he let his magic power die down in his friends’ cell. He relished in the way his hair fell flat and in how he finally got to let his marking crawl off his body. He wanted to smile as the voices finally turned back into whispers...
When Lucy, Natsu, and Happy weren’t looking, Gray let his face morph into a frown. That wasn’t right.
The voices were supposed to disappear along with the markings, not just fade.
Unfortunately, Gray didn’t have much time to dwell on this development, as he and his team left to stop the purification. Despite being ever present in his mind, the events from that day managed to drown out the magic’s whispers.
By the time it was nightfall, Gray had already forgotten about the whispers, having grown used to the voices during his time with Avatar. He laughed with his friends and didn’t pay much mind to the slayer magic trying to claw at his heart once more. It relentlessly tried to drag him back. To activate his markings and sink him back into the madness.
  But he didn’t.
   He couldn’t.
Not when he had his friends to ground him.
  But then came Invel.
The voices had gotten so loud as soon as he woke up to Juvia laying on the ground, motionless and surrounded by a pool of blood. His markings hadn’t even made its way onto his body yet .
They yelled at him, tempting him to just let go like before, to sink into his magic.
“He deserves to die ,” they said, louder and clearer than ever before, “don’t you think, Gray? ”
But Gray didn’t give in. He wouldn’t deny that it was tempting, but he kept himself grounded with what little determination he had left. He stayed and ignored the oh so loud voices even when he learned E.N.D.’s real name.
Gray stayed until he saw how far gone Natsu was. He could practically feel the bloodlust rolling off E.N.D. as Gray tried to get an answer out of him. Once Gray came to realize he might have to watch another person close to him die, he thought it would be better to slip away into his magic. Let it do the demon slaying for him.
Gray couldn’t remember much of his fight with E.N.D. It was mostly a blur of anger and grief. He remembered flashes of flaming claws swiping at him and E.N.D.’s own angry eyes glaring at Gray.
It was Erza’s interference that seemed to pull Gray-and seemingly Natsu-out of his haze, and Juvia’s sudden return is what grounded him.
After their victory against Alvarez-and after Gray noticed the voices once again grew louder even with the marks gone-Erza expressed some worry for him. She stated that during his fight with E.N.D., she had noticed that his markings now covered half of his face. She inquired on if he should see Porlyusica, but Happy had quickly wormed his way into their conversation, informing Erza that Gray’s markings had returned to how they once were. That seemingly eased some of her worries.
Happy had no idea how thankful Gray was for his interjection.
If I could manage it in Avatar, I can manage it here. He thought to himself. I don’t need to see Porlyusica about this.
And besides. A voice hissed in his head, and Gray wasn’t entirely sure if it was his or his magic’s. She’s probably busy with all those who were injured during the battle.
And so, he stayed quiet about it, preferring to not worry his family.

Each droplet of rain alighted on Juvia’s skin was just enough coolness to command her mind to the present. It pulled her thoughts away from the pain of the past few days and the uncertainty of what was to come. She tilted her umbrella back, raising her eyes to the gray layer of clouds that blocked out the midday sun, promising the storm would continue well into the evening.
Juvia frowned. This time she wasn’t the cause of the weather. Her emotions had gotten the better of her after the news of their guildmates’ deaths. It had been a while since she had allowed Gloomy Juvia to be in charge of her existence. Now, her despair was evident in her tears rather than the rain. Sunny days were best for healing broken hearts, she had learned since her days serving in Phantom Lord. But Mother Nature had a cruel sense of humor.
She reaffirmed her umbrella overhead. From the bench she sat upon, she had a perfect view of the apartment building across the street. The double hung windows three stories up had remained dark all day.
“Hey, Juvia.” Blue eyes turned to her right to see Gajeel walking toward her, Panther Lily perched on his shoulder with paws over his ears, shuddering when a clap of thunder echoed in the distance. “What are you doin’ out here?”
She shrugged, granting him a smile. “Just enjoying the rain.”
Panther Lily studied the path of her sight to the complex. “I-Isn’t that Gray’s apartment?”
“Tch.” Gajeel folded his arms over his chest, glancing between the apartment and the bench he was sure Juvia had been occupying for hours. He gave her a disapproving look. “Don’t tell me you’re waiting out here in the rain for him.”
Juvia bit the inside of her cheek, shame pulling her gaze to the glistening walkway. Her pulse began to quicken, her fingers fidgeting in her lap with the fabric of the dark overcoat she wore. It wasn’t the first time Gajeel had chastised her for her overt adoration for the ice-make wizard. From the moment he had joined her at Fairy Tail, Gajeel had caught onto her little infatuation. She had done her best to tone down her attempts at grabbing Gray’s attention, but she admitted it was difficult to do. She had been immersed in gloom her entire life, and within a few moments of meeting, Gray had somehow managed to stop the rain.
“He’s-He’s hurting,” she tried to explain, her cheeks flushing with her poor attempt at persuasion. “Juvia doesn’t know how to help him.”
Gajeel’s carmine eyes considered her carefully. Juvia had always been a woman whose emotions were easily rattled. She had more self-doubt than anyone else he knew. The water mage had always excelled in her magic wielding, but when it came to holding onto a relationship, she floundered. Her excitement of sharing a bond with another person was often perceived as overzealous and, to be frank, annoying. He didn’t blame Fullbuster for behaving toward her the way he did.
That being said, it still irked Gajeel that Juvia had been left out in the rain. “You can’t help someone who doesn’t want it.” He took a seat beside her and laid his arms across the back of the bench. Juvia tilted her umbrella over him to share as Pantherlilly cowered under the bench beneath them. “I say leave him be. He’ll work it out in his own time.”
“Juvia’s not so sure he will.”
Growing up in Phantom Lord, she and Gajeel had both come from backgrounds of abandonment, and had learned they both coped with adversity in similar matters - quietly shutting away their pain and simply shouldering through whatever blocked their path. It granted them the building blocks to what had now become a close friendship. She would never wish to change her past because it had led her to her present, and yet, she knew her path had been more difficult than others.
Juvia had only been a part of Fairy Tail for a short time. She had heard snippets of her guildmates’ hardships and struggles, but she didn’t truly know the extent of the scars on their hearts. Yet, the atmosphere in Fairy Tail was so different from what she knew in Phantom Lord. Just like Gray had brought out the sun, Fairy Tail had done the same to her overall outlook. Where in the past she was expected to carry her afflictions by herself, now she had friends who outwardly welcomed to share her burdens, because that’s what it meant to be part of a family.
She sniffled, eyes turning to the dark windows three stories above. She had attempted to speak to Gray several times since everything happened. Each time, he had shot down her efforts. Consoling others during a time of trife had never been her forte, so she was honestly lost on what to do. Gray hadn’t been very approachable. The ice-make mage had almost literally become a block of ice - sharp, cold, unyielding. After drowning his sorrows with the bitter taste of alcohol, he had shut himself away in his apartment. It made her feel uneasy and worried about his state of mind.
“He’s lost three very important people in his life,” she said, her grip on her umbrella tightening. “Friends he grew up with. They laughed together. Fought together. Cried together. Juvia can’t imagine what he’s going through.”
Gajeel stayed silent as the rain continued to fall. He supposed he couldn’t empathize with what the rest of the guild was going through. After all, besides Metallicana and Juvia, he had never shared a deep bond with anyone - and Metallicana had disappeared without a trace. If he had lost Juvia, or even Panther Lily, he supposed he would be pretty fucked up, too. Even still.
He leaned forward with his elbows resting on his knees. “Well, he obviously didn’t invite you in, considering you’re out here.”
“Gajeel!” Panther Lily scolded, popping his head up from beneath the bench to glare at the dragon slayer.
“You’re right,” Juvia murmured before Gajeel had to defend his statement. “Gray hasn’t spoken much to Juvia since that night.”
He frowned and looked over at her with steely eyes. “Why do you continue doing this to yourself? Why do you continue to put yourself through this for him when he doesn’t even give you the time of day?”
She granted him a shaky smile. “If you’re not willing to love someone through their struggles, you don’t deserve them during their joys.”
As if agreeing with her words, lightning struck, a brilliant shock of white in the graphite sky. For a brief moment, it lit up the street, and Juvia could swear she saw someone in the apartment window three stories up looking back at her.
Tumblr media
Romeo wasn’t sure what was worse: the fact that the guildhall had regressed into the silence they had suffered through for seven years, or that it had ever been gifted with ebullient chaos again. A wound that had been meagerly healed by immeasurable tears and fruitless anger, had suddenly been ripped open, serrated edges destroying any scar tissue that had formed. All the effort the Tenrou Team had put into winning the Grand Magic Games seemed to have been for nothing. The pain and loneliness of those left behind seven years ago was as palpable now as it was three months ago.
He clenched his hand around the orange scarf draped around his neck. A world without Natsu had been a hard concept to accept when the dragon slayer had disappeared with the rest of the guild’s powerhouses. After all, Natsu always had and always could defeat any enemy that had dared stepped into his bad graces. It was difficult to believe that Romeo’s hero had so easily been wiped from existence with no rhyme or reason. No one knew of the dragon attack on Tenrou Island until the spell had lifted and the Tenrou Team could recount the events to those left behind.
And then Romeo had watched as Natsu dominated Sabertooth during the games, and spear-headed a rescue mission against the Royal Army. Natsu had even managed to find a way to destroy the Eclipse Gate when the twelve keys of the zodiac and two celestial wizards couldn’t, a feat that brought them victory against several dragons. In Romeo’s eyes, Natsu was invincible. Unbeatable. Indestructible.
Unbidden tears burned his eyes. After everything Romeo had witnessed while being a part of Fairy Tail, he truly believed that nothing could ever destroy the heart of their guild, because Natsu would always be there to fight and protect those he held dear.
Until, he wasn’t.
“He’s not gone, stop saying that!” His voice cracked, his fists curled.
Just like when they learned of the disappearance of Tenrou Island, Romeo’s first instinct was to blatantly deny the reports. He refused to give any merit to the master’s claims that Natsu was dead. Natsu had survived a dragon strike. Romeo couldn’t fathom that a measly demon from the Books of Zeref could be the end of the dragon slayer he held in such high regard. A world without Natsu was impossible to compute, impossible to bear. It couldn’t be true - he’d never even had the chance to say goodbye, or tell him all of the things he had always admired about him.
And then the Thunder Legion brought the team home, further confirming what Romeo tried to contest. The following days brought mourning and the funeral. The Request Board became empty, the guild members looking more like skeletons than wizards. Demons had killed their family and escaped to who knows where. Meanwhile, his father and Wakaba were sharing drinks and cigars. Bisca and Alzack were doing their best to distract Asuka. Vijeeter stopped dancing. Nab hadn’t picked up a book in days. No one laughed or started fist fights. It was all so wrong.
“This is wrong,” Romeo murmured under his breath.
Macao set his mug down on the table and raised a brow. “What was that, Son?”
He clenched his hand into a fist and slammed it on the table, startling those who sat closest to him. “This is all wrong!”
“What are you talking about?” Wakaba pulled a deep puff from his cigar.
Romeo suddenly stood, dark eyes ablaze with fury. “Everything! Why are we just sitting around?! We should be going after the demons who-who-”
“No.” Macao’s tone left no room for argument, his signature guild master voice that conveyed his authority. Romeo hated when his father spoke like that. After the brutality they had gone through under the thumb of Twilight Ogre, Romeo had lost respect for that voice. “We’re not going after anyone.”
“But why?!” Romeo argued. “If Natsu was here-”
“Well, he isn’t,” Macao hollered back. “So forget it.”
The argument pulled Bisca’s attention away from Asuka in her lap. She frowned, watching the storm of emotions wage within Romeo. A boy whose passion and spirit that were just as robust as Natsu’s was - had been - threatened to spill over to the rest of them. His vigor could be contagious, if the resolve behind it didn’t waver, but Romeo was still just a boy.
“It’s not that we don’t want to,” Bisca attempted to soothe the young wizard’s ire.
“Then why?” Romeo cried out, his tears finally coming to fruition. “What’s stopping us?”
Wakaba sighed. “You’re too young to understand. This isn’t a job request or the Grand Magic Games.”
Alzack rested a hand over Azuka, her bright eyes peering up at him. “Going after the demons would mean war,” he explained gently. “And the battlefield is no place for inexperienced wizards or those without a strategy. We have to trust that the master knows what he’s doing.”
Romeo gritted his teeth. Trust in the master? He wanted to. He always had. But Makarov had been missing in action since the funeral; he remained holed up in his office with no explanation. He offered no hope that they would prevail, no solace for how they were to overcome this grief, and no plan as to how they would get revenge.
In Romeo’s eyes, Makarov had turned into a coward. How was he supposed to trust in that?

The days following Natsu’s death were the hardest Lucy had ever been through. The worst part about every day was the morning. Each night, while she tossed and turned in fits of nightmares, she replayed that day out on the battlefield. And every morning, she would wake up and her heart would break all over again as she reminded herself that her nightmares were real.
Natsu was gone. Erza and Happy were gone. And they were never coming back.
Lucy stared at her ceiling as the midday sun streamed through her curtains. Her keys laid neglected on her desk, scattered with her writing tools she hadn’t touched in a long time. She could faintly hear murmured conversations from people walking by on the street below her apartment window, but otherwise she had shut out the rest of the world.
She sighed, glancing at the disarray of her room. It seemed as if Natsu and Happy had come barreling into her living quarters uninvited and had made themselves at home for weeks. Her laundry needed to be done. Her cabinets had run out of dishes to hold, finding a new home in the sink. Blankets lay haphazardly on the floor and the couch, evidence of Lucy attempting to find a place of comfort to no avail.
“Good afternoon, Princess,” Virgo greeted as Lucy became distantly aware of the slight pull on her magic that signaled the maid spirit was around.
Lucy turned on her side with her back to her, curling further into her bedding. She shivered, clutching her heavy duvet tightly around her, but she was still cold. Ever since Natsu’s death, it was like she couldn’t get warm.
Her appetite had dwindled down to nothing. Her heartache had rung her out until she was dry inside, and no more tears would come. Her insides still felt as raw as if winter wind was blowing right through her skin. The last conversation she shared with Natsu haunted her, tormented her, replaying like an echo. She vividly remembered his expression twisted into one of pain that night before the mission, as he confessed his deepest fears to her. How was it that only hours later he was dead?
The quiet clinking of dishes stopped an hour later as Virgo finished tending to the household chores. “I’ll be leaving now,” she announced, but Lucy ignored her.
She finally drifted into a fitful doze as she felt Virgo return to the spirit world.

The slight distortion in the air was the only warning Makarov received before he found Doranbolt, Head of a Division of the Rune Knights, standing before him in his office. News of Fairy Tail losing three of its wizards in battle had quickly made its way to the Magic Council. Whenever a wizard died in conflict or of unnatural causes, it had to be reported to the Council for an investigation. This incident in particular had everyone on edge. It had been decades since such a tragedy had befallen a single guild.
“Doranbolt,” Makarov greeted with a hardened gaze. “I was wondering when the Council would send someone.”
He stepped forward and set a small file on Makarov’s desk. “Our investigation remains ongoing regarding Tartaros, but I figured I’d give you an update.”
The guild master hummed as he began scanning the documents. He had clued the Council in on Lucy’s admission, as going up against a dark guild would need all the intelligence he could gather. Most of the documents had been redacted due to containing sensitive information, but what was available to read was not much more than what he already knew. “This is hardly worthy of investigational praise,” Makarov stated dryly as he pulled his eyes away from the pages and leveled Doranbolt with a glare.
Doranbolt frowned. “Tartaros has always been one step ahead of the Council. And as you know, the Council isn’t exactly swift on looking into the more dubious tasks.”
“Dubious?” Makarov echoed. “Every dark guild fears Tartaros. What could be dubious about that?”
He curled his hands into fists. “They fear a guild with no evidence or merit to show. There’s no paper trail that even confirms Tartaros’s existence. At least, none in our records. Since the Council first became aware of Tartaros, nearly no new information has been found. They’ve always been more of a scary bedtime story than an actual threat.”
Makaro’ve anger was palpable. “Do you believe they are a threat now?!”
“Of course,” Doranbolt replied, swallowing thickly. “The Magic Council takes this attack on Fairy Tail wizards as an attack on the entire magical community. They aren’t taking this lightly. That being said, information won’t suddenly become available just because we need it to.”
“Then why not interrogate these dark guilds that fear Tartaros so much?” Makarov demanded, his voice raising with indignation. “Surely they have more information than you bumbling council fools.”
“Watch your tongue, Makarov,” Doranbolt snapped, his hand resting over the crest imbued on his chest.
“My children are dead,” he reminded with a dangerous tone. “And those responsible owe us retribution.”
Doranbolt studied the old guild master thoughtfully. Fairy Tail had caused a fair amount of trouble over the years, Titania and Salamander specifically, but never did any of the council members wish them death. After seeing them participate in the Grand Magic Games, Doranbolt understood their tenacious spirits and headstrong attitudes. Not to mention all the help they provided when going up against the Oracion Seis, Grimoire Heart, and the dragon attack on Fiore Kingdom.
The continent of Ishgar owed Fairy Tail a large debt, one that they may never be able to repay. Before being returned to his cell, Cobra had mentioned that the gates of the Netherworld were about to open. Is this new development with Tartaros what he could’ve meant?
“Obtaining that information is out of my jurisdiction,” Doranbolt began slowly. Mentioning the information Cobra dropped was not something he was ready to reveal just yet. Lahar wouldn’t approve of him meddling with the council’s doings, but Doranbolt wasn’t about to stand by and helplessly watch people die. Not again. “But I can see what I can do.” He disappeared in a flash, giving Makarov no time to respond.
Makarov exhaled deeply, feeling his age as his anger melted away. He was getting too old for this. Exhaustion didn’t even begin to describe what he felt the past few days. Settling back in his chair, he turned his gaze to his office window at the late afternoon skies. He stroked his mustache thoughtfully, mind turning over the visit from Doranbolt. The teleporter had bent the rules in the past regarding moral obligation. Makarov only hoped putting his faith in him again would not backfire. The fight ahead of them would not be easy, but he knew every detail he obtained regarding the wretched dark guild would be a step toward victory.
His office door opened and shut behind him, and he swiveled to see his old friend giving him an accusing gaze.
“What is it, Porlyusica?” he asked, leaning forward to rest his elbows on his desk.
She studied him a moment, and then, “I could never understand your love for those brats. Mankind is such an insufferable species.”
He smiled. “And yet, you’ve become quite fond of one of them, haven’t you?”
She scowled at his mention of Wendy, the only human she remotely liked. “Makarov, you have always been a man of action,” she pointed out, their long history coming to mind. “So, why is it that when three of your children have been killed, you have locked yourself away in your office while the rest of your guild grieves?”
All humor disappeared from his expression, and he glared at her. “I don’t appreciate you questioning my motives,” he grumbled. “I’m very well aware of the circumstances.”
Porlyusica pursed her lips. “You know who killed them,” she announced, able to see right through his tactics. “But you haven’t told the others. Why?”
“Because it’s Tartaros.”
She narrowed her eyes, now fully understanding his hesitation. “I see.” Her gaze roamed over the messy disarray of his office, where he had practically lived for the past few days. Knowing why he had been so adamant about keeping this piece of information a secret, she could appreciate his seclusion. However, “An obsession like this isn’t healthy.”
He suddenly pounded his fist on his desk, causing the wood to splinter. His dark eyes glared daggers, palpable rage filling his expression. “They killed my children!” he roared, all pretense of quiet conversation lost. “I’ll be damned if I don’t return the favor.” His shoulders shuddered with his fury as he seethed.
There was something about Makarov’s reaction that had Porlyusica tightening her grip on her medicine bag. His character had always been true in nature and absolute. But this time, she knew the danger ahead was very real and there would be no convincing him otherwise that he shouldn’t go into this battle. “You’re an old fool,” she murmured as she turned to take her leave. As her hand moved to pull open the door, she turned to look over her shoulder. “Make sure you don’t die.”
And before he could promise her he would be cautious, she had gone, surrendering an old man to his thoughts.
After Porlyusica left Makarov’s office, she made her way through the main hall of the guild, eager to return to the East Forest. She had had her fill of human interaction for a while, and hoped she wouldn’t need to be called on again anytime soon.
“Grandeeny, wait!”
Pausing to glance over her shoulder, the medicinal advisor took note of the little dragon slayer who she admittedly had become attached to. “I’ve told you not to call me that.”
Wendy looked up at her with wide, brown eyes. “Are you leaving?”
She sighed, adjusting her cloak around her shoulders before turning to address the child. “There is nothing left for me to do here. Heartache is one thing I can’t fix.”
“Can’t you stay?” she asked, tears in her eyes as she looked up at the woman who reminded her so much of her mother.
Porlyusica studied her closely, feeling pity for Wendy and everything she had been through at such a young age. She rested a gentle hand on her head. “Listen well, child. For a wound to heal, you have to clean it out. Over and over again. This cleaning process stings, as the cleaning of a wound hurts.” She tilted her head thoughtfully, narrowing her eyes. “Healing takes so much work. So much persistence. And so much patience. But, every process has an end and an appointed term. Your healing will come. And like all created things, someday your pain will only be a dull ache in your memory.”
Tears filled Wendy’s eyes as she sniffled. With a final pat on her head, Porlyusica turned to take her leave. Her words were left in the space between them, a young dragon slayer holding onto them with every ounce of strength she had left. Because for the first time since that day, there was a small shred of hope peeking its way through.

Please may I have a Fairy tail scenario of when a fangirl laced your drink with a love potion so only your love would be directed at her and it was obvious to Gray that something was clearly different about you (you are Gray Fullbuster's younger twin brother who is a ice mage and a Fairy tail S class wizard and he is a kind young man and everything and you are Juvia Lockser's loving boyfriend) when you had that strange look on your face, reminding him of a love sick teenager and imagine his surprise when you asked him to introduce you to a girl who went by the name of Rebecca Frey..didn't you not realise that you already had a girlfriend who went by the name of Juvia Lockser?. It was suddenly clear why to Gray of why you were behaving like that when he basically sniffed your drink and it smelt sickly sweet, laced with love potion and the chocolate bar was definitely laced with that too in the guild. Gray told you that you should be thankful that Juvia was on a job currently...she would be absolutely heartbroken if she found out that you were really in love with someone else when Gray and the rest of Team Natsu had to help you on the way to Porlylusica's place so she could lift the love potion effects off you..and thankfully Porlylusica let Team Natsu stay for understandable reasons as it didn't help when you randomly flirted with Porlylusica asking if she wanted a drink or you basically asked "Hello darling, fancy a drink?" *Happy had to muffle his laughter at what you said* . You were absolutely mortified (you were finally back to normal) when Porlylusica finally gave you something to help lift the love potion effects off you and you asked Team Natsu when all of you were finally kicked out of Porlylusica's home.."Please don't tell me that I was acting embarrassing.." and Team Natsu were polite enough to make excuses about having to help you all the way to Porlylusica's home and not mention the love potion incident until Happy split that part of the news of you being affected by love potion and how you asked your older twin to introduce you to Rebecca Frey and everything..you couldn't believe it and you were bloody thankful that Juvia was on a Job but you were absolutely mortified at how you behaved and you apologised for causing them trouble..

Tumblr media
You were currently in the Fairy Tail Guild Hall more specifically at the bar with your brother Gray having a few drinks. The both of you had just recently finished a difficult quest together and wanted to celebrate! So the both of you were at the bar enjoying the food and drinks.
Your girlfriend Juvia was also one of the waitresses on duty today serving the drinks and food to the members of Fairy Tail. Of course, this includes you as well and any time you would order something she'd also kiss you! Right, you and Gray were just discussing the quest you had finished not too long ago.
It took multiple weeks and was filled with many difficult battles against fearsome monsters. But as the brotherly duo nothing could stop the two of you! With both your teamwork and skill both of you were unstoppable!
With a drink in hand, you were about to take another sip before someone tapped you on the shoulder. You turned around to see who it was and it was one of your fangirls. You paid her no mind before telling her to run along.
However, before she did she slipped something into your drink without you knowing. The girl left gigging to herself confident her plan would be successful. What was this plan? Well, it was to make you fall in love with her!
You had told her multiple times you had a girlfriend and that you weren't interested. However, she didn't seem to listen and would always make advances on you. She made you feel very uncomfortable so you always did your best to avoid her.
Now taking another slip of your drink you began to feel slightly odd. You felt warm and fuzzy you felt in love but not for the one you remember. But instead for someone else you fell in love with Rebecca Frey the fangirl you spoke to not all that long ago.
You stood up from your seat in search of her to see where she was so you could tell her how much you loved her. Noticing this odd behavior out of completely nowhere Gray questioned you. "Hey man what's wrong?" Gray asked.
You turned to look at him with a big smile on your face and your eyes almost looked like they had hearts in them. You responded but it was not what Gray was expecting. "I'm looking for my girlfriend Rebecca Frey!" You spoke happily.
Right away Gray knew something was off I mean who even was this Rebecca Frey anyway? Noticing the strange look on your face Gray decided to check your drink. He had noticed it was now a color pink and had a strange smell.
Gray concluded that someone had laced your dink and that was why you were acting like this. Discarding the drink so no one else would be able to drink it. Gray took your hand and began to lead you out of the Guild Hall before Juvia could see you in this state.
"Hey, where are you taking me? I need to find my love, Rebecca Frey!" You spoke as Gray dragged you out. "Shut up and just follow me."
If there was one person who could help you with the state you're in he knew who it was. It was Porlyusica and so he headed out to her house in the woods. After some time he arrived and knocked on her door.
"Yes?" The door and Porlyusica spoke in response to the knock. "Hey Porlyusica sorry to bother but I need your help. My brother here got his drink laced with a love potion. Will you be able to help?"
Gray spoke and Porlyusica took a moment to observe your condition. "Yes now bring him inside," Porlyusica spoke as she invited the both of you in. You now paying attention put your gaze on Porlyusica and spoke.
"Hey darling fancy a drink?" You spoke with a smirk on your face sure that you won her over. "Y/N! Stop it!" Gray said hitting you on the head. "Ow!" You said In response.
"..." Porlyusica gave no response and only looked more annoyed after you said that. "Here drink this," Porlyusica spoke handing you a bottle.
You happily accepted the drink and soon after began to feel sleepy. You then got into one of the beds and were soon fast asleep. "He will be fine by the morning the effects will wear off by then."
Porlyusica spoke turning to face Gray. "Thanks for this Porlyusica," Gray spoke now turning to look at your sleeping form. After some time it was soon morning.
You woke up and sat up in the bed rubbing your eyes. "Huh, where am I what happened?" You spoke looking around and seeing Gray and Porlyusica they decided not to tell you about last night. "Nothing don't worry Y/N good to have the old you back," Gray spoke with a smile.
