Gillion is Hope-Coded: There's the characteristics like optimism, trust, love good things that to me define Gillion.. Then there's also shit that ties him like belief, destiny, reliance on him as the Chosen one, religion etc. I like this explanation on hope by loquaciousgamer-classpecting:

Infinite in its power and limitless in its utility, Hope has the honor of being the Aspect of Possibility. To try and narrow its purview to anything less broad would be to go against the spirit of the Aspect. As a positive Aspect, Hope creates innumerable opportunities and makes all things possible. When Hope’s power is present, all things seem brighter, obstacles crumble away and belief becomes reality.

And it makes me think about the quite literal vibe he brings to the Riptide Pirates 'it is your destiny' and shit. Also a lot of the names of the stuff he does in fights (eg Favoured by the Gods, Divine Smite, Prophetic Screw Up - his SWORD is called Destiny's Blade) like... cmon man do I even have to say

LIKE from a distance if you didn't know him personally - only by his titles and his importance as the Chosen One, you'd pin him as an Heir he EMBODIES hope and is the deciding factor for the world's fate. But to those that do know him you'd discover how fucking daunting that role is - by the world he was thrusted this responsibility he was born with never asked for. When thinking about Gillion's situation I think of this quote by dahniwitchoflight:

Maids start out relying on others for their Aspect. They’re often treated like doormats, dismissed or pushed around by those they rely on. Their challenge is to learn to rely on themselves for their Aspect. 

Maids of Hope start out relying on others for what to belief in or feel happy about. At their starting points they don’t have much to believe in that is of their own making, just what others have told them. This can make them seem like very gullible people at first. They trust and love whatever they have been told to by some kind of authority figure, or what they have always grown up trusting and believing. They do anything they feel they have been allowed to do, and nothing can stop them, but anything they feel like they haven’t gotten the green light for, they will not.

The first thing I thought about when I heard the song the first time was "this is so Jaden coded 😭" and I haven't been able to put it out of my mind! The bridge in particular has been haunting me in a certain kinda way ever since.

The idea of course being that the bridge in particular always stood out to me as Jaden coded because of the duel with Brron in season 3 and the um......events that transpire....

Rewatching season 6 and I keep thinking about poor Cole having a hard time knowing that he can't hide Jay away from Nadakahn. Like he keeps trying and like you said, Jay kinda just falls through. 😭

Skybound is such a great season and that’s such a painfully good idea gosh. The moment Cole proposes the idea Jay knows it’s not gonna work. Cole has a hard time staying solid for long periods of time for starters and he’s also transparent, so even if he could keep Jay in they’d still be caught. Still...he lets him try. It’s partially out of desperation to escape Nadakahn and partially longing to feel safe and surrounded by Cole in a way he hasn’t been for a long...long time. So Cole tries and he falls out almost immediately. He tries again. And again. And again. Each time managing to hold Jay inside for just a little longer, and each time getting more desperate when he falls back out. Eventually they both have to accept the situation, and honestly, Cole might not have thought it would work any more than Jay did. He was just so desperate to protect his friend the one way he knew how and he couldn’t even do THAT! Oh man the angst potential here is huge gosh. Cole struggled a lot with feeling useless during Possession and I think this scenario might make him start to feel like that again. There might even be some heavy guilt on his part as well considering he and the others hadn’t been the nicest to Jay before he was captured either. And Jay...poor Jay is just...so resigned. He knew getting out so easy was a long shot, but he’d allowed himself to hope nonetheless. Legit this concept is gonna be living rent free in my brain now man I always love me some Skybound angst and this is. Perfect
