Well, okay. I have a lot of random ideas for things, so there are plenty of ideas for WIPs, but I think the one I'm most excited about was one I had kind of recently. It's a story about a ragtag group of musicians who all meet each other completely by accident at a music festival. Each of them plays a different instrument, and each of them is like insanely good at it. When the ten of them (yes, there are ten) are all present when one of the biggest musicians in the city suddenly dies, they take it upon themselves to try and solve the murder. But each of them is a suspect...and time is running out as the real murderer comes closer and closer to ending them, too. It should be a fun story...but I need to finish my current WIP first. XD

🍓 worst thing you've done to your characters

Oh, gods. Um. I'm not sure, actually. The main plot of my current WIP is that my main protag, Z, has had his memory completely erased, so that seems kind of awful, but that's the driving reason behind the plot so I'm not sure that counts. I mean...all three of my important/main protags kind of have horribly tragic backstories...Z's parents removed /suppressed/altered memories long before the Dark did, Shade (love interest and second main protag) used to be a human prince before a witch (that happened to be his sister) betrayed him and turned him into a Tormentor (long story), and Darren (kind of an antihero, third main protag) watched his family die in a senseless and brutal battle that annihilated his entire town. So. I guess the worst thing I've done to my characters is give them fucked-up enough backstories to drive their personalities. (Alternatively, this answer could be the inclusion of Melody in their lives, because I absolutely LOATHE her―and I'm the author.)

So Pac is a scientist who specializes in chemistry and biology (with a dash of mechanics... Unless Mike handles that) who recently signed up to rehabilitate, heal, and re-humanize chemically-created supersoldiers after the end of a recent war (because leaving them crippled, traumatized, and dehumanized in more ways than one is no way to honor them for their service... As long as they're no longer of good use)

Fit was a particularly powerful and infamous super soldier, one of the first actually. (So leaving him on active duty would be seen as a threat to other countries). But... Beyond that, he's also very very badly injured.

Becoming a chemical and partly mechanical monstrosity isn't exactly good for you, so it's sort of expected that even if you don't die during the transformation process, you'll either die sometime afterwards or at least much earlier than the regular human life expectancy. Going through a whole damn war definitely didn't help. (I'm thinking maybe blown up by specially designed "End" crystal explosions at least 35786543 times). So by the time the war was over, he was more or less found in an explosion-torn ditch in the middle of the wasteland, surrounded by corpses, entirely unable to move, and in constant unimaginable pain (he's still pretty much in constant pain all the time btw. Everything hurts). There's little-to-no chance he'll ever fight again.

This is where Pac comes in.

Took a sort of accidental hiatus for the month (I was still on tumblr, I just wasn't posting), just to make sure my busy schedule didn't overwhelm me.

The characterization of Sabo is just so perfect in this???? The thing is that in canon, Sabo doesn’t end up having to choose between his nobility and being a revolutionary, mostly because his ties to his nobility are already cut by his amnesia, but also because he has no reason to remain a noble in the first place beyond the leverage they try to hold over him. Sabo as a world noble however Cannot leave his situation because it is the way he is the most useful to the revolutionaries.

Also their deconstruction of the way the world nobles operate and how they choose successors among the nobles is excellent. The fact that they actively look for those who are able to see outside of the conditioning they have applied to their children to have them lead and uphold their corrupt institution is so interesting?? Not to mention Sabo’s entire struggle between his morality and his nobility and how in this he is surrounded by a scenario that makes it all the harder to uphold his morality and how there are times when he does actually feel the need to make Imu or the elders proud and just ughhghshdghsdgjsdg

I love everything about this fic and I wish there were more of it lmao I went on a spree after this fic of looking for more sabo-centric fics that placed him in an inescapable position as a noble but nothing hits quite as hard as this fic

As a character, Ayame has basically 2 rules.

Nothing is impossible for her*

She's stronger and smarter than anyone else.

*There are things that she won't do and thus will lie to your face and say it's impossible. If it's truly impossible, then it's like... "shatter reality if it's done" type possible and then survival > "it's possible" wins.

Because I toss her into multiple fandoms, she always scales a little with said fandom. And as I discovered with the KNY fic with her, putting her in fandom where the balance is off makes for a boring fic.

Ayame (Tier and Asher too) whole concept is to be the most OP, curbstomping, there's nothing they can't do, type characters. They have their strengths and weakness of course. Tier and Asher essentially fill in the gaps in Ayame and vice versa. There's no limit, except perhaps some logical limits.

For example, it's not impossible for Ayame to build a time machine, but if you need a time machine RIGHT THIS INSTANT, she can't just snap her fingers and have on made instantly. She might come up with the design right away, but between testing and physically having to build one, it'll take days. (Or a day at least)

Sight, despite it's name, is not reliant on sight only. wwbtf is the only fic I wrote that really goes into it, but essentially just like how shrimp can see colors we can't, Ayame's view on the world is a little more skewed than others. She sees/hears/feels/senses/tastes/smells things we can't. Goes from anything from ghosts to fate strings to seeing the future and past to dreams to aura and more.

Onmyodo, Ayame grew up on a shrine. Her father was a powerful priest. So she's got all the normal rituals, basic purification and blessings and more down.

Portals, Ayame has the ability to anywhere she wants to be.

Ayame's OPness comes from the fact that the "power system" from her world is highly flexible and compatible AND Ayame understands the truth of the system on top of being a genius.

FFXV calls it magic, KHR calls it Dying Will Flames, at the end of the day, to Ayame, it's a type of energy that you produce from your soul and since she produces that type of energy, she can use any technique you use with higher efficiency and more power and better understanding probably.

And when it comes to raw output of that same energy, she got more than anyone else in the entire universe.
