say thank to the sudden fanart of will I saw with dogs while laying on the floor, making me think "Oh, I can see jc being like that too"

Animal Therapy
Have you been feeling lonely, slightly depressed or anxious? Let me tell you, maybe you are not. You are just missing a pet!
Owning a pet can actually be a highly effective method of therapy, known as pet or animal therapy. No matter the age you are or difficulty you are having, animal therapy can be quite helpful for you.
This type of therapy has become increasingly popular in recent years, and is now widely used in hospitals, schools or age care facilitations. With the rise of COVID-19, the pet ownership increased significantly.
Pets are known to form a bond with humans, beneficial for both parties. They are known to reduce stress, anxiety and depression. They also provide a sense of unconditional love and support, forming a rare companionship with the owner that can boost their social confidence, quiet helpful for people who feel isolated or are struggling with loneliness. Here are some ways you can benefit from the presence of animals and where to find pets in Melbourne:
One of the most popular forms of animal therapy is use of dogs. Dogs are highly social, loyal and affectionate animals, and there are several studies that document the bond they can create with human, which got them the title of ‘human’s best friend’. Due to their level of intelligence and obedience, dogs can be trained to provide a variety of support services, such as helping people with mobility issues or providing emotional support for people with mental health disorder. If you are thinking of adopting a dog, have a look at some of the most popular Australian websites such as Rescue Pets or Savour Life. If you are not in the position to adopt a dog right now, I have a life hack for you. Go in a dog beach (Port Melbourne, St. Kilda, Elwood, Brighton) and enjoy not only a lovely walk by the beach, but also the presence of so many lovely dogs, that are having zoomies on their beach day! Another option would be to book a class of puppy yoga in Springvale or visit dog cafes and enjoy their company!
Another popular form of pet therapy is the presence of a horse, known to help individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder, also called equine therapy. There are many placed around Melbourne that offer classes to learn how to ride horses or ponies, such as Woodlands Trail Riding in Greenvale, The Equine Club in Dromana, Alan Smallacombe Trail Rides in Dandenong Ranges, and not only. Here is the link to some of the most popular horse rides in Melbourne.
Other pets that are used in therapy are cats, birds or even fish. If you love cats, you should check out the famous cat café in CBD before it closes down in June, or visit the Melbourne/Werribee Zoo and the Sealife Aquarium to see other beautiful animals.
To conclude, pet therapy can be quite a solution for your mental health. We know that life can get overwhelming and lonely at times, but there is nothing a pet cannot fix for you. Here are some doggo pictures that I took around Melbourne to make the perfect conclusion for this blog!

Good People Doing Good Things -- Beacons Of Light
It’s that time again … time to turn aside all the darkness and go in search of some good people … you know, the kind that are a beacon of light in this world.  Every week I manage to find at least a few and it is these who truly give us a bit of hope for the future of humanity. Truly giving of himself … Years of alcohol consumption had taken a toll on Paul Voth’s liver, leaving it in dire…

This 2024 is the best time to know about PET Therapy: Your Mental Health Helper
Tumblr media
Many people of all ages can take pleasure in interacting with animals. However, pet therapy can help people with a variety of life's obstacles. In this blog, we explore the advantages of using animals in therapy and how spending time with animals can improve mental health.
Define Pet Therapy
Pet therapy, sometimes called animal-assisted therapy, is a therapeutic approach in which you engage with animals to explore and understand your emotions. Pet therapy is the use of animals in a therapeutic setting. There could be several reasons, such as assisting with mental, emotional, social, and physical well-being. Healboxx psychotherapy app provides pet therapy as a component of adult and senior therapeutic recreation activities.
Pet therapy can be provided in various places, including group therapy sessions, private therapeutic settings, schools, and care facilities. Treatment for a variety of mental health issues can involve pet therapy, such as:
 Anxiety
 Depression
Autism
Fears and phobias
Stress
Trauma
Bipolar disorder
Benefits of Pet Therapy On A Psychological And Emotional Level
Having a pet can significantly improve one's emotional and mental health. Have you ever been happy after petting a dog? Pet therapy is beneficial for a wide range of people with different issues. Patients' mental health can benefit from time spent with dogs in various ways, from improved social connections to stress reduction.
1. Reducing Stress and Anxiety by Having Animal Interactions
Numerous people can reap the rewards of having a pet without owning or caring for one. Adolescent research revealed improvements in anxiety, tension, anger, and associated illnesses in teenagers after therapy dog visits.
2. Enhancing Mood and Relieving Depression Symptoms
Psychotherapy and medicine are commonly used in the treatment of depression. Pet therapy may be an option for some who find it difficult to open up in a regular therapy setting.
3. Improving Communication and Social Interaction Skills
Beings that are kind and loving, animals may ease loneliness and offer solace. While the animal is the major emphasis, pets can foster an environment that promotes social interaction and connection.
4. Encourage Exercise
Physical activity is good for the body and mind; animal-assisted therapy can help. Increasing motivation for physical activity and exercise might benefit people with mental health issues. The exercise might be as easy as going for a stroll or playing with a puppy.
Pet Therapy: Encouraging Mental Well-being
Pet therapy does, of course, have certain restrictions. Animal safety and allergies to specific species are key considerations. Animals may be frightening to some individuals, or the idea of pet therapy may make things more stressful. Whether pet therapy is beneficial to a particular person is a personal decision. It's acceptable to let your therapist or doctor know that you would want to look into other options if you find that pet therapy isn't helping you. Your treatment approach will be based on your goals and concerns; therapy is a personal process for you.
Treatment options for mental health issues do not solely consist of animal-assisted therapy. Pet therapy is not a substitute for psychotherapy or medication.
Conclusion
However, to set patients on the path to recovery and treatment, animal-assisted therapy can make them feel more comfortable and bridge the gap between therapy and treatment. Interacting with pets can support treatment for various mental health conditions and foster good psychological well-being. Get in touch with the Healboxx online counselor if you or your loved one has any mental health issues, and begin your therapy journey right away. Make an appointment by phone or online; our offices are in most of the nation's major cities.

If you wish that you could rescue but can’t have a pet for whatever reason please consider volunteering at shelters and rescue centers instead bc at most places you can even say “I don’t do well with (poop/loud noise/human-sized dogs/whatever boundaries you want to set) but I really love animals and want to help out if I can” and they will be happy to have your help and the animals will be sooooooo happy to have your love and then you get to feel so accomplished and fulfilled and appreciated even if that’s the only thing you did all day
