May 21, 2023 - Turkish police harass a group of Kurdish men for dancing halay to Kurdish music in an Istanbul park. One of the racist cops starts pepper-spraying one of the men for arguing, causing some other to fight back. When they run away the racist cop draws his handgun and starts firing in the air before giving chase.
The cops managed to arrest four of the group, made them lay facedown on the ground with their hands cuffed behind their backs, while the cops played Ottoman military marches on their car stereo. [video]

Old topic tossed back and forth about that TFP episode where pepper spray works on KO...
I think the pepper spray would be just as effective, if not more effective, against cybertronian optics. They're sensitive sensors, and just like having dust or sand in our eyes can be painful, I think irritants would be the same, except they can't produce tears to clean the irritants out like we can. Imagine looking through a camera and suddenly someone sprays pepper or bug spray onto the lenses. Good luck getting that off by just wiping with your bare hands, you'll probably make it worse.
Temporarily blinding, but also potentially causing further problems by getting into the mechanics themselves and grinding or gumming them up.
So yes, I think his reaction was correct.

Exposure to pepper spray.
If you use pepper spray, it is possible that you will be exposed to it to some degree. It is also possible that someone may use pepper spray on you. If you are exposed to pepper spray, here are the steps you should take:
Try to remain calm. Remember that the effects are temporary.
Remove yourself from the area if you were exposed to pepper spray in a dangerous situation such as a fight. Allow any friends or comrades to guide you to safety.
Once you are in a safe area where you may spend up to an hour recovering, flush the exposed area with cool, pure water.
Do not rub your eyes with your hands, especially as your hands may have pepper spray on them, and if you have been sprayed in the eyes, your vision will be impaired and you will not be able to check your hands.
To rinse your eyes, look to the sky and blink as you pour cool, pure water directly into your eyes.
DO NOT flush exposed areas with milk, vinegar, a baking soda solution, an antacid/Maalox solution, or other “home remedies.” These are NOT more effective than pure water, and some are potentially dangerous. Milk can introduce bacteria and baking soda solution can cause permanent damage to corneas, etc.
Continue to rinse with water as the effects gradually lessen. Take care as you rinse: water can carry pepper spray onto other parts of the body.
Once you can move and speak without continuous water rinsing, move to an area where you have access to soap and running water. Your body can be decontaminated by washing with soap. Wash your body with soap and COOL water; hot water will increase irritation. There may be pepper spray in your hair that you can’t see, so wash it even if you don’t think it’s there.
Any orange color on part of your clothing may be pepper spray that needs to be washed off. Remove any clothing that has pepper spray on it to prevent recontamination. Place them either in a trash bag if you need to transport them before washing, or place them directly into a sink, bathtub, or washing machine (ideally separate from other clothes or laundry). They can be decontaminated by washing with soap or laundry detergent.

(Transformers One Bumblebee gets pepper sprayed headcanon.)
Bumblebee meets a young human woman less than 48 hours after the Autobots crash land on Earth....It didn't go well...
A dimly lit alleyway. Bumblebee, in his disguise as a beat-up yellow Beetle, is scouting for Decepticon activity. A young woman, Sarah, walks down the alley, clutching her keys tightly, pepper spray at the ready.
Bumblebee (voice distorted by the car engine): Greetings, earth life form! This covert location appears… unsavory.
Sarah spins around, heart pounding. In the dim light, she sees a flickering car radio and hears the strange, metallic voice.
Sarah: Who's there? Don't come any closer!
Bumblebee: (Trying to sound reassuring) Fear not! I am Bumblebee, a friend to humanity!
Sarah doesn't recognize the name and the voice only intensifies her fear. She takes aim with the pepper spray.
Bumblebee transforms into his Autobot form, towering over her before he kneels over to her height.
Before he can speak, Sarah lets out a scream and blasts him right in the optics with the pepper spray.
Bumblebee: (Optics flaring, voice sputtering) Aaargh! My optics! What have you done, human?
Bumblebee stumbles back, flailing his arms blindly. Sarah backs away, coughing and sputtering herself from the accidental discharge.
Sarah: I... I thought you were attacking me!
Bumblebee: (Optics slowly clearing) A tactical error on both our parts, it seems.
(They become best friends by the end of the week.)
