in this aspect, the planetary bodies are harmonious and their energies are naturally and positively expressed. the sun is representative of the self. it represents how we show up in the world, our ego, and our self esteem, happiness, and our vitality. neptune is the co-ruler of pisces in modern astrology, and can be best identified by its elusive energy. it represents spirituality and the realms beyond us, dreams, the arts, and creativity. it is also indicative of illusions, deception, addictions, and mysticism. it’s also a generational planet, and stays in the same sign for about 14 years, therefore everyone born within that time frame will share the same placement.

this can grant the native with an inspirational, imaginative, and otherworldly personality. they can be caring and sensitive, with good morals and ideals. they’re extremely charismatic and tend to have a dreamy yet mysterious allure about them. they recognize that there is more to this world than what meets the eye, and tend to be spiritually-inclined. this placement can be indicative of fame. those around them will hold them in high regard due to their honesty and natural inclination to help and nurture others. they may be reserved and hide their drive or ambition, but still have the capacity to manifest and turn their dreams into reality with great ease.

i heard we were talking about synastry charts 👀

personally, when it comes to lena and pedro and whether they dated or not, i don’t have any real dog in that fight. but i will say they do give very strong twin flame energy, despite the fact that “twin flames” tend to be something that people over exaggerate the importance of. they share a lot of the same challenging aspects in their charts, i.e. sun square moon, sun square saturn, moon square pluto, saturn square pluto, etc. and like one of your anons mentioned, within their synastry there’s a lot of compatibility intimacy-wise (and spiritually), but outside of that everything is giving instability.

i would definitely recommend for anyone who’s interested to read their charts/synastry. in my opinion, it does seem like whatever it is that they had was a “past life” type of connection, and not in the over-romanticized type of way people tend to portray it as, but more in the “we both have the same red flags, we both bring out the worst in each other, but it doesn’t matter because you understand me on a level that no one else can” type of way. these aren’t the types of connections you’re meant to stay in, they’re something you’re meant to experience so you can recognize the parts of yourself you need to “heal” in order to have productive, healthy relationships in this lifetime.

Jasmine Dowling- Jasmine has created an amazing creative studio with herself. She promotes amazing quality companies in a creative way. She is designing and creating art. Her job would honestly be my dream job. She also creates work that I am drawn to with a fun style of photography, colours I love and funky illustrations.

Bonnie Brown- She is someone who I aspire to be like. She is exceptional at illustration and she has done so well she has created her personal studio with work coming in and she is working with brands and good quality companies.

Jean Michel Basquiat - An Abstract Expressionist artist using acrylic, oil paint and pastels and spray paint. He communicated contrasting thoughts through his work. I am inspired by Basquiat's art as he communicates deep ideas and issues in a fun interesting way. I love how he includes doodle-style drawings.

Bonnie Gray- Bonnie expresses feelings and tells stories, fond memories and friendships through her art. She uses oil pastels, Oil paints and symbolism. I am inspired by Bonnie’s her colours, and symbols and how Creativity is a childlike wonder.

Marcos Navarro- Marcos has been a big inspiration to me in practising my illustration. He has partnered with books, beer, and many other amazing companies. He has created murals. His style is my type of illustration and he uses a similar process to me. He is an amazing source of inspiration and is a great storyteller through his illustrations.

Hannah Carrick - I love her use of oil pastels, she was the first person I saw using oil pastels that really ought my eye. I love her themes and how she uses bodies. She uses beautiful colours and I find her work so stunning and beautiful while she also carries layers of value in her work also.

Joao Incerti - He brings a lot of his cultural heritage into his work by incorporating his personalised patterns throughout his work. He has a strong theme and also is an illustrator and painter., He creates amazing murals and expresses self-identity which then the reader can also relate to and he is telling stories through his work also.

Ben Crase- I love the pink hats! I love his amazing technique of oil painting, he is so talented. He has beautiful colours and I am amazed at the quality. He has a strong theme across all of his work. There is value hidden in self-identity and expression and cultural heritage.

Jakey Pedro- Jakey uses oil pastels, acrylic and oil paints and shows ideas through horses. “Are a metaphor for life’s wild ride. You’re on the horse, it’s bucking, and you’re partly in, and out, of control.” I am inspired by his use of colour and style and how there is a theme and quote behind his works.

Studio of the sun - This company is so coo. I love there atrt and as there is so many stories on a canvas and so much hidden meaning you have to search for. Its showing you a story and you have to connect the dots on why.

Tahnee Kelland - I love Tahnee Kelland's work as I am very much drawn to the colours, the texture and the themes of country and desert.

Jack Kabangu - jack's work is very unique and very abstract but within his work, there is a lot of symbolism and value within it. He incorporates a lot of his cultural heritage in what he creates and includes values he believes in. He has a strong theme throughout all his work and it also has a lot of aspects on self-expressionism.

Mika Cotton - Along with Shane as Mika is his daughter, we grew up and went to the same school so again this reminds me a lot of home as her work is connected to where she is from but she expands and also adds values from her Maori heritage and story tells so many deep values through such beautiful work filled with abstract brushes and warm colour pallet which naturally I am very drawn to.

Shane Cotton - Shane is from Palmerston North which I am also from, He is a well-known artist there so he reminds me of a slice of home. His work has so many layers contributed by his cultural heritage, Christian values which I also align with and where he's from which is also where I am from. I love the colours he uses and the illustration style as well. It is so awesome to see his work in so many places, especially the Britomart mural.

Sadao Wantabe - Her works are very textual and patterned. She recreates aspects of biblical teachings especially the main stories of the bible. I connect with this because the bible is a big part of my life and I live by these principles as well as Sadao.

Danny Fox is also another artist who I find not only inspiring but also includes the value of being childlike. I find his paintings somewhat cheeky. He is a very talented artist and uses lovely colours and included the country theme I seem to really be drawn towards.

Dubuffet - Dubuffet is a. sculptor who mainly uses black and white with accents of blue and red doodles. I love the business and the challenge to create shapes out of his scribbles. He is telling stories in a whole new way and I really love e his theme. I relate to him with the randomness and the boldness of the black in some symbol pieces I have created.

Tyler the creator - Tyler is such a great creative really maximising himself as a brand. He is a musician but he has such a strong art presence with his prints, fashion line, album covers and collaborations and his own store. I love the design style of mixed media of photography, design, illustration, and painting. He is a creative genius with also making music that matches the theme of art.

Brittany Ferns - is another artist who is including the same themes I keep getting drawn to such as warm colours, oil painting, country and horse themes. I think this is stemming from my love for the sun, warmth and feeling warm inside and my family's history of my grandparents growing up on farms and also living rurally myself.

I have entered a rabbit hole of synastry...

So, I recently fell down the fascinating rabbit hole of astrology and decided to dive headfirst into the mystical world of synastry! Buckle up because I've stumbled upon an astrological discovery that's blowing my mind! 🌟✨ Turns out, according to the cosmic dance of the stars, my birth chart is compatible with none other than Boyd Holbrook's chart! 🔮

I know, it sounds like a delightful delusion, but bear with me!

Disclaimer: Before we dive in, let me make it clear that my calculations are based on wild speculation about Boyd Holbrook's birth chart (which can be found here: https://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Boyd_Holbrook ). But hey, let's have some fun with it, shall we?

So, after some playful chart comparisons, I couldn't help but notice some intriguing alignments between our celestial signatures. It's like the stars conspired to create some cosmic connections that are too amusing to ignore! 😄🔮

For starters, before I started diving more into synastry, I already had some hints of compatibility in our charts such our Venus, Mars and Rising signs matching one another (based on his chart he’s an Aquarius Rising while I am an Aquarius Venus and he’s a Cancer Mars while I am a Cancer Rising). These aspects in astrology can indicate that basically he embodies the ideal of beauty for me, while his Mars indicates strong attraction to the energy of my rising. However, our Sun / Mercury signs are in opposition, which can hint at a love-hate type of situation (the downfall of being with your sister sign). Furthermore, our Moons, Venus, and Jupiter placements seem to be in a celestial symphony of harmony by conjuncting one another. It's like the universe is saying, 'Hey, you two, here's a cosmic recipe for emotional connection and artistic understanding!' 🌙💖✨

Now, here's where it gets interesting. As I explored the houses, I couldn't help but notice that some of his placements seem to fall right into my fourth house. It's like a cosmic hug of comfort! His sun in my fourth house, conjunction with my Virgo IC, which brings a sense of familiarity and warmth (potentially explains why I find him to be such a comfort person).

And let's not forget the planets that reside in our eighth and fifth houses. It's as if the universe is nudging us towards mutual understanding in artistic endeavors and emotional bonds.

Call it starry coincidence or just pure cosmic mischief, but I'm totally embracing my astrological delusions from here on out! So, I'm strapping on my imaginary starry boots and surrendering to the whimsical dance of the planets. Let's embrace the magic, the laughter, and the sweet enchantment that astrology can bring into our lives! After all, who needs reality when you can revel in the playful wonders of the universe?

Now, I must make it clear that all of this is good fun and pure speculation. I'm not about to give up on life and become delusional solely for the sake of astrology compatibility, even if it feels like a Pedro Pascal-level crush. 😅 That being said, I want to take a moment to emphasize my respect for Boyd Holbrook's personal life and his relationship with his wife (to whom I own my life because she’s the one providing with constant updates of our boy).

I have this hc that, you know, the children actually take their gifs from aspects of their personality, but also I love to think that they’re from fundamental steps of their parents relationship, like, we see Alma and Pedro flashback of their story and how all three elements, food/love sun/warm and time, are fundamentals in their relationship and how, then, their children gifts were tangled with that.

And what if also Pepa and Julieta’s kids had the same kind of connection with their stories?

Like, we see Pepa’s kids having this deeply routed complex gifts circling around hearing everything, becoming everything and understanding everything. What if Pepa and Felix’ relationship was formed like this?

hey y’all! in this series we’ll be covering major hard/challenging aspects (squares and oppositions) to pedro’s sun. minor challenging aspects to his sun (semi-squares/sesquiquadrates and semi-sextiles/inconjunctions) will be covered in an upcoming series, as well as the rest of the major and minor aspects to the rest of his planets, and asteroids in his chart! i also want to note that when it comes to these aspects, they have to be examined through the lens of the entire chart, as they’re influenced by a myriad of factors within it.

sun square saturn (0°00’)

in this aspect, the planetary bodies are in conflict with one another. the sun is representative of the self, outward perception from others, how we show up in the world, and our ego and self esteem. it represents our enjoyment, happiness, and our physical vitality. saturn is representative of long-term goals, how we approach those goals, and more specifically the restriction and difficulty we face in meeting these goals. most often you’ll hear saturn referred to as the “teacher” or the “father” of the planetary bodies, it is the “bar” you set for yourself.

when the sun and saturn are squared in a chart, it may manifest as insecurities or an inferiority complex. saturnian restrictions placed upon the ego can result in feelings of self-doubt and a lack of self-worth, and natives with this aspect may have to work 10x harder to achieve their goals. in youth they may have felt that any attempt they got to express their will was often impeded upon. this can also manifest as a desire to be in constant control of their environment and/or those around them. as mentioned before, saturn represents long-term goals, whatever saturn hits in the natal chart tends to be the area of life or the area of the personality that takes the longest to develop. these people may be considered “late bloomers” and tend to find success later in life.

that success not only manifests in terms of career, money, social status, but also in terms of their relationship with themselves. they can become less critical of themselves with age, but it may follow them far into adulthood if not addressed. people with this aspect can be extremely hard on themselves, especially in youth. saturn can also represent the father/paternal figures in one’s life, therefore this aspect can potentially manifest in a father figure imposing negatively on the native’s identity, or restricting them in some way shape or form from self-actualization (not implying that this is the case for pedro as he’s pretty private in regards to his family/home life, just speaking in general terms for those with this aspect).

on the flip side, when saturn aspects are fully developed and worked through, these can become areas of the personality and of life that the native has the most strength in, so long as you’re working with saturn and not against it. in terms of how this has manifested in pedro’s life, he has the “fairytale” story where he was a struggling actor in new york, working non-stop, seeing his peers excel in the industry, maybe not with “ease” but perhaps “easier” for them than for it was him. it wasn’t until he was in his late 30’s that he got the role of Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones, and then after that the role of Javier Peña in Narcos.

his breakout role was The Mandalorian (a role he got in his early 40s if i’m not mistaken), and then recently, the role that actually made me alongside most of the rest of the world aware of him, Joel Miller in The Last of Us, a role he got in his early-mid 40s as well. he didn’t become “commercially successful” until later in life. i would also argue that a positive effect of this aspect could be the result of him not “peaking” too soon as an actor. because he had to work harder, he was put in a position where he had to actively master his craft. whereas younger actors (not all of them obviously) may find that success sooner and become comfortable, not necessarily have that hunger to improve, and become “pigeonholed” or type-cast after having one big role.

on the other hand though, and this is my own inference, i do wonder how he’s managed in terms of his own self-image and self esteem. he’s obviously at a point now in his life he has the career he’s been working towards his whole life, he’s said himself he’s enjoying all of the attention, adoration, and praise he’s gotten and even plays into it himself. but one thing that sticks with me is something he said in the THR: Round Table interview in reference to the expectations people had for The Last of Us: “but this time around, i was scared. i was so scared. because there was more of an exposed silhouette, a silhouette of coolness maybe, and an expectation to be met as far as what people’s immersive experience of the story was. and to disappoint them in that regard felt like it would be … i don’t know. you don’t want to let people down, but also nobody’s impervious to disappointing people. i want people to like me.” there are other interviews where he brings up this desire to “be liked” and references to how hard he can be on himself, and i always thought he was being half-hearted until i looked at his chart and realized how deeply he actually cares about the perception of himself and his work from others.

i’m definitely not saying to be condescending, or to infantilize him in any way shape or form. we as human beings are social creatures and whether we want to admit it or not we ALL by default desire acceptance, and WANT to be liked by others. but from my perception, 2023 was his year. he (alongside Bella) was front and center for one of the best shows that came out this year, (and i would argue the best video game adaptation to come out in a minute), he had season three of The Mandalorian come out, he did a short film with Pedro Almodovar, he’s currently working on the Gladiator sequel, and has been coined “daddy of the internet,” (it gives me the ick but if he likes it i love it). i say all that to say, it’s interesting to me that this has been arguably the most successful year of his life, and he seems to be struggling with imposter syndrome. he continues to reiterate how much he desires to be liked, when he’s obviously adored and very much so in demand as an actor.

i also want to address the signs that these planets are in as that also influences this aspect. he’s an aries sun, and the sun is exalted in aries, meaning the planet has the highest ability of expression in this sign. the sun is encouraged to assert the personality and soul’s mission through the courage of aries. on the other hand, his saturn is in cancer, and saturn is in detriment in cancer, meaning the planet finds the least strength in this sign. saturn’s limitations impose on cancer’s desire to nurture/be nurtured, resulting in insecurities and resentment surrounding the expression of vulnerability. those two energies being in conflict can result in a desire to want recognition and having the energy to do what it takes to get it, all the while feeling insecure and unworthy of the goals you’re working towards, even when you do attain them.

alongside that, he has mentioned either being a gemini rising or a cancer rising. if he does have cancer on his ascendant, that would mean saturn falls in his 1st house. similar to the sun, the 1st house governs the “self,” it represents the physical body, new beginnings, and how your identity/personality manifests in the real world and affects your day to day life. having saturn in the 1st house would not only amplify the effects of the square aspect with the sun, but can also manifest in a literal sense, causing chronic ailments concerning the physical body. natives with this placement may deal with fatigue/difficulty sleeping or issues with the joints and bones. this can also influence the feeling of having to “grow up quickly.” they may go from being perceived as older than they are in youth, to then being perceived as appearing/behaving younger than they are with as they get older, and overall feeling happier as they age. feel free to take this with a grain of salt, though, as we don’t have a confirmed birth time for pedro.

i’ll wrap this up by saying this is the strongest (and arguably most important) aspect pedro has, and therefore one of the aspects in his chart that has the most influence over his identity. i’m very much so an astrology nerd and i love it not only when i can see how an aspect manifests in someone’s personality, but the literal manifestations within their life as well, and this is definitely an aspect/placement in pedro’s chart that you can see has played out over the course of his life thus far.

i do personally feel like the effort he’s put into his career is tenfold the amount of effort he could be putting into bettering the relationship he has with himself. as someone who has saturn as their chart ruler, i can completely understand why that would be the case. but there’s a lot of unlearning that needs to take place, not only with this aspect but prominent saturn placements in general. there’s a level of hyper awareness that saturnian people have that can become counterproductive and self-destructive. nobody around them is as devoted to analyzing every single one of their flaws as much as them.

i do have to note that the context is different in pedro’s case as he is a public figure and he definitely is subject to more scrutiny than the average person. and as i referenced earlier in this post, it does mean a lot to him how his work as an actor is perceived, and i don’t think i’d be wrong to assume that those feelings could also cross over into how he is perceived on a personal level as well. this is just speculatory on my end so feel free to disagree, but i wouldn’t be surprised if this manifested in a “self-fulfilling prophecy” type of way in his life, where he already has these feelings of inadequacy, and despite the adoration and praise he receives, he might hear the handful of people saying ‘he’s untalented, he’s unattractive, he’s x, y, and z,’ and internalize that instead because it reinforces a narrative he’s been familiar with his whole life.

and let me reiterate, i know this is a damn near 50-year-old man we’re talking about, he’s been working at this whole life, he knows what comes with the territory, and if he had a choice between this and living a normal life like the rest of us, i’d put money on him not choosing the latter. at the end of the day, people with this aspect have to work towards not worrying about always being “right” or being perceived in an accomplished and positive light 24/7. once they get to a point where they actually alleviate the pressure they put on themselves, they’ll end up finding that they don’t tend to run into as many obstacles, as they realize a lot of those “obstacles” are self-imposed. everything with them boils down to feeling what it is that they deserve. it doesn’t matter how “liked” they are from others, it will always take them convincing themselves that they are worthy and deserving of love and respect, from those around them but most importantly from themselves.

CHORES ON A SUNNY DAY OF FEBRUARY

On the first day in February, the sun's warm rays peered through the window and into my room. The sun appears to have played hide and seek with the clouds, and the beams of light shining on my face, along with Mr. Pedro's "Cock-a-doodle-doo!" awaken me as the day begins. I sat up and looked out the window; the tall trees surrounded our backyard like curtains. I can see what little sunlight I can see through the dense foliage as it casts its rays in all directions. It illuminated the ground and the woods, whose colors were slightly off, almost seen through a stained window pane. I stood there, watching the yolk of the yellowish sun rise higher in the sky. However, the higher it rose, the less time I realized I had to complete my daily chores.

Every day, I had a slew of chores to complete, and it was one of the most important things I did before embarking on a fantastic day. It teaches me to be the responsible, self-sufficient individual I am today. When I complete a task, I feel like I can do anything and am dependable in all aspects of life. Even if I don't have the energy to do the chore, if I persevere, I get the sense of accomplishment that comes from completing a task.

After I finished mentally planning my day, I opened my wardrobe to get dressed, and as soon as I did, my heart skipped a beat when my father entered my room without knocking, saying, "sweetheart, I bought cracked corns for Mr. Pedro, and would you mind helping me for a minute?" because I had to expose the wet slabs to the blistering sun outside. As I walked outside the backyard, the sky was a brilliant blue, the grass glistened, and the sun's rays tiptoed across the meadow. The day was bright and sunny, with the scent of spring flowers like the sweetest wine and the birds' happy chattering up in the trees singing their hearts out, giving even the most depressed soul a glimmer of hope and happiness. As I approached the chicken coop, I noticed Mr. Pedro, who has red-blond hair and long, pointed neck feathers that flowed down into the back, lurking around the yard. I recall hearing on the news that roosters serve as the primary defender against danger by constantly keeping an eye on the hens in their flock, and it appears that Mr. Pedro is doing an excellent job.

As I mowed the lawn, my stomach grumbled with hunger. Thank goodness! My mother bought my favorite Filipino dessert, Halo-halo, layered with shaved ice and condensed milk on top of various ingredients for a result that packs a variety of contrasting textures, from chewy to crunchy, creamy to sticky—so refreshing!

As I gazed out the window at the beautiful sunny day of February, I relaxed and closed my eyes. The sun stood guard over its domain, and its rays slipped through my fingers.

The sun hasn't set yet, and the greenery isn't rustling. Peace has triumphed. While listening to the bird's chirp, I open one eye and look out the window. A window lets in light, and there's a sliver of blue sky and tree foliage. Sunspots encircled the walls, and white, fluffy clouds drifted across the blue sky. What a fascinating and wonderful day it is on a sunny day.

So, I am going to answer this under the premise that this an actual honest question and not a bait to then nitpick my answer. And I apologize if my answer has a harsh or rude edge, but honestly we Latine fans have answered this same question COUNTLESS times before. Anyway, here it goes.

Would you be able to share ways Mando gets fetishized/written OOC by fanfic writers?

I mean, I have pointed this out time and time again on my posts about Latine characters, The Mandalorian and/or Pedro Pascal. The answer is actually in the question you have asked yourself, anon. The ways in which Mando gets fetishized and written OOC by fanfic writers is… precisely being fetishized and written OOC by fanfic writers. It’s not rocket science, the fetishization is directly connected to applying stereotypes and biases about Latines to Latine characters, especially when said stereotypes go in direct opposition to their canon characterizations.

The main stereotypes applied to Latine characters by fandoms (and yeah, note I am not limiting this issue to The Mandalorian, because it happens to every Latine character in every fandom under the sun) are:

The Latino Lover stereotype

The angry/fiery Latina

The sexualization of the Spanish language

The exotification of Latin American Spanish varieties and NNE Latin American accents

The portrayal of Latines, especially Latinos, as cold, irrationally angry and violent, detached from emotion. As far as Latinas are concerned we get extremely sexualized or villainized (quite often portrayals are hyper sexualization with a dash of angry jealous Latina ready to steal a given LI)

And now, this is not directed at you personally anon, but let me address something very important. Even though softie went through the trouble of listing the most common ways in which Mando gets fetishized/written OOC by fanfic writers, we Latine fans should not have to be here pulling out excerpts of every single fic this has happened in for people who aren’t Latine to a) believe us when we say there’s a problem, b) realise this is a problem because it’s a cemented fandom trend (across fandoms) at this point.

And another thing, because this mindset of “show me proof this has actually happened!” truly me tiene los ovarios inflados. Why should we Latine fans have to delve into disgusting content that will upset us just to give you all a research-like presentation on how X fandom exotifies and sexualises a Latine character? Especially when then many people love to pull “well X popular fic didn't do Y exactly you are a big meanie”, as if a given content not following every aspect of a stereotype to a T suddenly means the plethora of issues in said content isn’t harmful, stereotyping, biased, racist, etc.

(Not to mention that actually “showing proof” of fics/content in which these things are present actually prompts some people to argue we are targeting people on purpose, just to twist the debate and paint anyone raising concerns of fetishizing as a big meanie trying to stir fandom drama.).

Latine fans, particularly in the Star Wars fandom, have been speaking about the various ways in which fandom fetishizes Latine characters for years (and we have also talked at length about how to avoid fetishizing Latine characters and treat them respectfully), but it seems some people find out there’s a problem with Latine fetishization in fandom every two weeks. It’s exhausting.

If some of you all insist you aren’t biased/racist/w/e, then you truly don’t need people from X marginalized group or community telling you how to treat a character from said background with respect, without applying stereotypes to said characters, because you’ll be already looking at ways in which to write and engage with these characters respecting the human dignity of the group they represent (and you wouldn’t victimize yourself when someone points out something you are doing is harmful).

Hello there. That’s a good question. I have a feeling that part of the reason the line is so famous is that it sounds so mysterious but beautiful. But let’s take a look at the whole exchange and tease out the meaning:

Don Pedro: ... to be merry best becomes you, for out o’ question, you were born in a merry hour.

Beatrice: No, sure, my lord, my mother cried; but then there was a star danced, and under that was I born. (2.1.305-9)

The exchange happens as part of a courtly conversation between Don Pedro and Beatrice in which he (possibly jokingly) asks her whether she would marry him. Beatrice comes up with a flattering way to self-deprecatingly and jokingly reject him, and blames her jokey nature for her ‘rudeness’ in doing so. The Prince is far from offended and essentially compliments her for her witty conversation skills, saying that being jokey is what suits her best, because that’s her nature. In saying that she was ‘born in a merry hour’, he is saying, in other words, that she was astrologically determined to be a happy person. This isn’t all that obscure. As is depicted in The Duchess of Malfi, where Antonio goes off to calculate his child’s ‘nativity’ (horoscope) when the duchess is giving birth (Act 2, scene 2), it was a common thing to have a child’s horoscope calculated at birth. The belief in the ‘influence’ of the stars (a word we still use today) was widespread, if not wholly unquestioned.

Beatrice, who can’t keep her mouth shut, and who is too sharp not to contradict Don Pedro on a literal level, is quick to point out that it wasn’t such a merry hour for her mother, who would have been experiencing the pains of labour and therefore crying when she was born. One of the compelling aspects of Beatrice is her clear-sightedness about the reality of women’s experience. She doesn’t entirely dismiss the prince either though, and contrasts the vision of her suffering mother on earth with the ‘start that danced’, something about the astrological circumstances at her birth. This is quite confusing, but the overall sense of it is positive: the star dances because it is happy. The Arden edition notes here that old legend has it that the sun was meant to dance when it rose on Easter Sunday in joy that Christ was risen. So the implication is that the stars delight in her birth, and that it’s not just her that’s being influenced by the happy star, but the star that is made happy by Beatrice’s existence. In any case, she’s confirming Don Pedro’s observation that she must have been born under a benign star and that her personality is shaped by that event.

It is rather characteristic of Shakespeare, though, to have this happiness tinged by the melancholy or realistic image of Beatrice’s mother crying. It’s no surprise that only the second part of Beatrice’s line is famous (almost all famous Shakespeare lines are taken out of context). In the broader outlook of the play, I think it’s quite reflective of the tragic potential of the play as well as the way that Beatrice seems to compensate for her unhappiness by making merry. So despite what she says, it might not be her temperament but her will and wit that makes her funny. Just as her mother cries as the star dances at her nativity, joy and sorrow come hand in hand, and she seems to feel deep pain while jesting lightly.

Hello! I actually did two readings about this and I decided to post both because they show different aspects of the situation but they complement each other. So I will post the first one and then do a part 2 with the other.

In the part 1 reading about his first 6 months of 2023, the first cards were Transformation, 3 of Hedgehogs and Ace of Flowers. As we already knew, Transformation (Death in regular decks) represents a lot of changes for him. We know he has huge projects on the way and his career is undergoing transformation now. 3 of Hedgehogs is about good communication and teamwork, so he's also surrounded by a lot of great colleagues and friends that are most likely going through these changes with him too. Ace of Flowers is about a lot of creative energy, action energy, making (and seeing) all these plans and everything he's been working on to finally see the light of day and become a reality.

The next 3 cards were Page of Hedgehogs, The Sun and Ace of Hedgehogs. Page of Hedgehogs is our shy boy working hard, eager to help and learn new skills, but possibly feeling kind of ineffective. A lot of opportunities for meaningful success and material stability that only need to be explored, and they will be. The Sun is the card of joy, warmth, success and fame. He will be at his best career moment and full of opportunities with the Ace of Hedgehogs. Jobs, money, profitable new goals, a lot of positive stuff.

The last cards, on the other hand, were 5 of Spears, 9 of Spears reversed and 7 of Flowers. 5 of Spears is a card of conflict. It's about frustration, misunderstandings, battles and defeat. Then we have the 9 of Spears reversed and this one is a relatively concerning card, especially after the 5 of Spears. Not only it shows he could feel anxious, but there's also regret, the feeling of not having done things right, a lot of negative thoughts and inner turmoil because of his own mindset. It also advises him that if he's struggling emotionally, he should ask for help, from whoever needed, and not keep his worries to himself. The 7 of Flowers brings even more inner conflict to the picture, with him facing challenges and rivalry. This card is one that tells him to not back down in the face of these challenges and attacks, hold his ground and remember he earned his place in that garden.

So the cards do show a lot of success and great moments for his career, but there is also a lot of inner conflict, the feeling of defeat, anxiety and negative thoughts. There's a lot of it that's only in his head too, and this is why he should not keep it to himself but reach out to others to help him deal with it all. Also, don't judge yourself too harshly, Pedro!!

Another reading with different aspects but complementing this one will be up in a bit!.

Suspected Birth Charts: A Series {Narcos’ Javier Peña}

Being a witch, I thought it only fitting that I take a stab at each of my favorite Pedro Pascal characters and their individual birth charts. For all of my astrology lovers out there, I hope you enjoy!

Javier Peña’s Birth Chart

Sun: Capricorn ☀️

Sun in Capricorn has an intense drive for achievement that never lets up. They strive for a personal standard of excellence, even if the rest of the world settles for mediocrity. Javier is notorious for being very focused on work and getting the job done—no matter the cost. His personal life usually takes a back seat. He is very disciplined and is not what one would consider a dreamer, but rather, a doer. He exudes a sense of being in charge. He is highly ambitious, self-reliant, resourceful, and self-motivated. Men with the Sun in Capricorn are reserved and unapproachable. They usually tend to be everything opposite of romantic and are not what would be typically considered as passionate.

Moon: Scorpio 🌙

Those with an Aries Ascendant are considered the fierce warriors of the zodiac. This fits Javier to a T. Being the first sign, Aries leads the calvary. Venus is the planet which rules the style in which we love. Javier’s Venus is in Virgo, which means he expresses his affection in a very pragmatic way. Often shy and reserved in the ways of love, and perhaps rather aloof, they can be uncomfortable with gushing displays of affection. They are never ones to fall prey to romantic illusions but are nevertheless extremely fussy about what they’re looking for in friends and lovers, with only very few people being likely to meet their lofty standards. Javier’s Venus sign also provides him with highly developed discriminating faculties, making him an exceptionally good and mercilessly accurate, judge of character. The Venus Virgo in love is attentive, on time and mannerly but still shows a sense of moderation. This placement causes Javier to be somewhat resistant to really involved romantic entanglements. He needs space, to find some sense of being “clear” and able to make the best choices.

Mars: Scorpio 🔥
