sun trine neptune (0°35’)

in this aspect, the planetary bodies are harmonious and their energies are naturally and positively expressed. the sun is representative of the self. it represents how we show up in the world, our ego, and our self esteem, happiness, and our vitality. neptune is the co-ruler of pisces in modern astrology, and can be best identified by its elusive energy. it represents spirituality and the realms beyond us, dreams, the arts, and creativity. it is also indicative of illusions, deception, addictions, and mysticism. it’s also a generational planet, and stays in the same sign for about 14 years, therefore everyone born within that time frame will share the same placement. 

this can grant the native with an inspirational, imaginative, and otherworldly personality. they can be caring and sensitive, with good morals and ideals. they’re extremely charismatic and tend to have a dreamy yet mysterious allure about them. they recognize that there is more to this world than what meets the eye, and tend to be spiritually-inclined. this placement can be indicative of fame. those around them will hold them in high regard due to their honesty and natural inclination to help and nurture others. they may be reserved and hide their drive or ambition, but still have the capacity to manifest and turn their dreams into reality with great ease. 

this aspect can also manifest as creativity and artistic talents, and tends to show up in the charts of writers, artists, and musicians. neptune’s archetype expresses itself very literally in terms of film, as the audience is gifted beautiful images that can be perceived as real, but are merely artifacts of staged production. this can definitely be something in pedro’s chart that manifests positively in his abilities as an actor, as well as his appreciation of film, music, and other arts as well. this aspect could also result in strong intuition, psychic abilities, and lucid dreams. the native may be drawn to religious or spiritual practices, or have great comprehension of occult studies such as astrology or tarot. 

they have the capacity to become a source of guidance for others, and raise the bar by setting a good example through their actions. they’re sensitive to the feelings and wellbeing of others, and therefore can become great advocates for the most vulnerable among us. although they are sacrificing, they also need to recognize the importance of putting themselves first at times, so that their success can enable them to help others. pedro references his desire to be an advocate in his Wired 2023 interview: “my entire heart is set on, you know, the marginalized underdog. it’s not a choice. like, how dare anyone not support the people that are deserving of support, and are deserving of protection and need more of it than you do. do you know what i mean?”

they must also put in the physical, real-world effort to attain their goals, as they’re inclined to idealize the internal world they live in over the external. they must be honest with themselves to understand the true motivation behind their actions and desires, otherwise they can become susceptible to their own delusion. while these natives have to put in conscious effort to set boundaries, those with this aspect tend to not be as susceptible to manipulation as those with hard aspects to neptune, or hard sun to moon aspects (like sun square moon, an aspect pedro also has in his chart). they should ask many questions about themselves and those around them, as this disillusionment will grant them clarity, help them evolve spiritually, and allow their hearts and minds to work together in service for others.

sun conjunct chiron (within 8.7°)

in this aspect, the planetary bodies influence one another and their energies are amplified. with conjunctions, the energies can manifest in beneficial or disruptive ways depending on the planets in contact. in this case, a conjunction is being made between a planet and an asteroid. like i’ve mentioned, the sun is representative of the self. it represents how we show up in the world, our ego, and our self esteem. chiron’s energy can best be understood through the context of its Greek mythos. Chiron was a centaur who was rejected and abandoned from birth, who then grew to become a scholar and a mentor to heroes such as Achilles and Aristaeus. in astrology, chiron is notably referred to as the “wounded healer.” it is representative of the strength we find through our pain and vulnerabilities, and our ability to empathize and pass on wisdom through our suffering.

with the sun conjunct chiron, there is some type of wound involved with self expression. in early childhood, there could have been a strong desire to express oneself, but those around them may not have understood them or seen them for who they actually were. this can result in the native shutting down and restricting parts of their character and identity. there are also cases where the individual may not even be aware of this wound. they can appear perfect from the outside but internally struggle with emotional paralysis. innately, they may feel isolated, and crave connection while feeling too lost to find it. there can be challenges or blocks to one’s self expression, identity, or ego. people with this aspect may not even fully resonate with their sun sign. instead, they could wholly identify with the archetype of the “wounded healer.” the story of Chiron resonates with their identity and influences how they move throughout the world and interact with others.

they may also feel like their lives are inherently painful. in the natal chart, whatever chiron hits will be the area of the life/personality that feels like a “sore spot,” and for those with this placement, their very existence may be something that they struggle with. their egos can be bruised a lot more easily, and setbacks and rejection hits them harder than it does others. they feel things intensely and have a tendency towards suffering, so much so that when they fall in love or become attached it could invoke feelings of pain or resentment. they tend to be sensitive, to both their own struggles and to the struggles of others. 

these natives have an inherent desire to support others, and have a knack for recognizing others’ weak spots. they may feel like they want to fix and save everyone around them, similar to the sun conjunct ceres aspect pedro also has in his chart. while this can be an inherently positive trait, it can become counterproductive if they haven’t put in the same amount of energy towards healing or bettering themselves. if there’s a resistance to confronting their internal strife, or if it’s channeled in a negative way, they may struggle with repetitive patterns of anger, depression, or addiction. this aspect can also manifest physically as chronic headaches, accidents, illnesses, or issues with the circulatory system. despite their hardships, these individuals end up with a great amount of power when they do take the time to heal and understand themselves. it’s worth acknowledging that self-mastery through chiron can feel like a lifelong journey, as chiron returns only occur once we hit 50 to 51 years of age.

sun conjunct jupiter (8°40’)

in this aspect, the planetary bodies influence one another and their energies are amplified. with conjunctions, the energies can manifest in beneficial or disruptive ways depending on the planets in contact. in this case, we have two benefic (positively influenced) planets working together. as i’ve mentioned, the sun is representative of the self. it represents how we show up in the world, our ego, and our self esteem. jupiter is the traditional ruler of pisces and sagittarius, and is representative of wisdom, expansion, philosophy and theology. it’s also indicative of optimism and good luck, hence why traditional astrologers refer to it as the “great benefic.” 

this aspect implies an intrinsic enthusiasm and optimism in life. there’s a great desire to explore the potential of life, and to understand the purpose of living as deeply as possible. these people are natural born seekers, and actively resist any obstacles that limit them from progressing towards what they feel is their destiny. while this can lead them through a journey of learning and expansive understanding, this can also easily cultivate an evasive personality, and make the native justify their own self-centered desires, or lead them to assert their own personal freedom to the point where they wander through life with no clear sense of direction.

they always expect the best from themselves, those around them, and from life in general. they have an innate self-confidence that manifests as a strong faith to attain good fortune, something that can work in their favor, but can also result in setbacks if relied too heavily upon. they can be overindulgent when it comes to life’s pleasures, and put too much faith in their problems “solving themselves.” albeit, they have the ability to get away with making choices that most people wouldn’t be able to, and can still find new opportunities and new roads to travel through their missteps.

i do want to note that saturn can impact how this aspect plays out, as the strongest aspect in pedro’s chart is his sun square saturn. so in pedro’s case, he could feel a tug-of-war between these two energies. the saturnian influence may more often than not be the thing that reins him in (or humbles him, in a sense) from his jupiterian desire to do more, get more, and be more. while on the flip side, jupiter may be the thing that pulls him from saturn’s restrictive hold and gives him the energy to go after what it is that he desires.

sun trine north node (within 10.2°)

in this aspect, the planetary body and the lunar nodes are harmonious and their energies are naturally and positively expressed. the sun is representative of the self. it represents how we show up in the world, our ego, and our self esteem. in vedic astrology, the lunar nodes are representative of reincarnation, past life karma, our desire and destiny, and our soul’s mission. the north node demonstrates where and how one may fight and potentially over-exert themselves to find success in the material world, while the south node shows where and how we may “lose” what we’ve created on our path to spiritual liberation. 

with the sun trine the north node, there is an alignment between one’s will and sense of self, and what it is that their souls desire. this is indicative of earning good karma in this lifetime, and having a natural inclination to align their self-expression with their soul’s path and evolution. they feel the most fulfilled when their careers align with their true passion and purpose. personal and spiritual growth can come naturally, allowing these natives to easily blossom into the best versions of themselves.

sun conjunct ceres (5°11’)

in this aspect, the planetary bodies influence one another and their energies are amplified. with conjunctions, the energies can manifest in beneficial or disruptive ways depending on the planets in contact. in this case, a conjunction is being made between a planet and an asteroid. like i’ve mentioned, the sun is representative of the self. it represents how we show up in the world, our ego, and our self esteem. ceres is a dwarf planet (like pluto) and its energy can be best defined by the mythos of Ceres, the mother of Proserpina (Persephone in Greek mythology), who was abducted by Pluto (Hades). ceres is representative of the life, death, and rebirth of nature, nourishment, protection, familial/maternal attachment and/or separation, loss, and grief. 

ceres conjunct the sun can imply that nurturing will be significant to one’s identity. there is a primal need for giving and receiving nurturing, whether that’s on a conscious or subconscious level. the native may find themselves in situations where they feel urged to care for another person, or, they themselves are subject to learn how to accept love and nurturance from those around them. these people have a knack for charming and entertaining people, as well as the natural ability to make those around them feel safe, secure, and seen. the element ceres is placed in also influences the native’s nurturing style. pedro’s ceres is in aries, a fire sign, meaning he may nurture someone by showing moral support and encouraging them.

this placement can also be indicative of feeling nurtured by their father/paternal figure, as well as their mother/maternal figure having a great influence on their identity and outlook on life. these natives are frequently viewed as people that others can lean on for support. they tend to be great teachers, parents, and caregivers for both children and their mothers.

it’s most important for these natives to hold space for themselves the same way they do for others, and to develop an identity outside of being caregivers or being the “shoulder to lean on”. they can be close and heavily reliant on their family members to keep them afloat, which is something we can see manifest in terms of how close pedro is with his sisters, his brother, and his nephews. those with this aspect also need to prioritize recovery and rest, as these natives are prone to burn out.
