1. @doesturquoisework had a birthday this weekend and we celebrated on Saturday night with a small, intimate dinner party. Sunday morning I brought Timmy over for birthday greetings and she gave HIM a gift on HER birthday. 

2. I’ve spent time with him every day for the past few days and I’m not tired of him, not even a little bit. He has become one of the greatest catalysts for joy in my life. When I’m not with him, I’m thinking about him constantly. In the words of Childish Gambino “when I’m alone, I’d rather be with you”.  The lovesick phase of a new relationship is maddening. On top of the normal butterflies and stuff, I am deeply romantic & sensitive and I crave that in return. I want that unabashed display of feelings and he seems hesitant - probably NOT because he doesn’t feel sentimental, but because he isn’t entirely comfortable expressing sentimental things. I’m not sure, and the uncertainty makes my belly hurt. I’m going to try to be patient, keep my anxiety at bay (calm the fuck down), and continue to communicate my needs. He’s worth it. Patience is the hardest part for me because I’m always anxious. It’s the worst. We’re having a great time together and it’s clear that he likes me so my brain just needs to shut the fuck up. 

3. October is shaping up to be a good month. Next weekend @doesturquoisework and I are going to her dad’s birthday party (and maybe camping). The week after that is the LGBTQ film festival, a pride event, another friend’s birthday, a house concert, an event for the bassett hound rescue group I volunteer for, and my mama’s birthday. The week after that I’m going to St. Louis with my man for one of his friend’s birthday party. 

4. Anxiety continues to kick my ass. It’s weird and frustrating how you can be happy & positive but also near panic sometimes. I constantly juggle those intense feelings. My brain fucks with me like a bully that I can’t escape. Even when things are seemingly good, I sometimes feel like I’m at the edge of ruin - that I’m a bad friend, an annoying gf/partner, a subpar employee, a neglectful dog owner, and just a general loser. It’s an awful feeling because I feel like I’m sabotaging my own happiness by being anxious but I can’t stop. It’s so frustrating. I feel anxious right now just writing this out, afraid I’ll be seen as weak and unattractive. Afraid that my reaction to the anxiety is actually causing the things that I feel anxious about to actually happen. But that’s bullshit and I know it. My confidence IS in there, I’m a badass, and I fight the darkness every day because I don’t want to succumb. Can’t stop won’t stop. 

5. Did I mention that I’m in love?
