“School for little vampires” fans! Is there any chance at all of reviving this fandom? And I mean not only in terms of popularity but also in terms of the continuation of this show itself. For example, the creation of a film, game, comic book or even anime based on it. And it doesn’t matter if some studio or the fans themselves do it. Since the idea of this animated series itself has enormous potential for popularity. Why do I think so? Okay, here are some facts why:
The main characters are children/teenagers. And this is already the main sign for success. Remember the Disney who decided to cancel the “ Wander over Yonder” not only because of low views but also because the main characters are adults. Well, as we know, in our time, the main success is precisely those cartoons where the main characters are children/teenagers (there are, of course, exceptions, but there are actually quite a few of them). I don’t think it’s worth explaining why these shows are popular because the reason is obvious.
Often, most of the cartoon episodes take place at school. And here is another main bonus to success for the animated series. I think many of us agree that most of the cartoons, films and anime that we all watched were somehow related to school. This has long become a classic. After all, it is in a show about school that most love relationships between characters take place(and this is what we will discuss now)
Love relationships between characters. SHIPS. And there are plenty of them in this cartoon. After all, there is a main couple in this cartoon-Oskar and Sunshine. Well, like in other fandoms, there are various disputes and disagreements over couples, the main ones being OskarXSunshine and OskarXGothetta. That’s it. The presence of a couples in animated series also greatly influences its popularity. Since they are an integral part of discussions in fandom.
Interesting characters with their own personalities. The more the creators of the cartoon show other characters and their character traits, the more interesting the show will be and will attract not only children but also more adult audiences. For example, what I remember most about this cartoon is Stoker and his constant dirty tricks. The show was completely different without him. I can definitely say that Stoker is a REAL troublemaker. I especially like his relationship with Oscar. They often argue and even fight, but I wouldn’t call them enemies either. In a word, they are frenemies✨. And I just love it. There's definitely never a dull moment with Oskar and Stoker! I can say the same about Paulus. Just a real walking comedy. Well, what would a cartoon be without this clumsy old man Van Helsing?? Usually such versatile characters are found in cartoons and anime. After all, it is there that such categories of characters are found: the main character, the quiet one (in this case the main character is the quiet one), the best friend who is secretly in love with the main character, the nerd, the bully, the youngest of all, the oldest of all.
This is a show about vampires. Many people like to read or watch something about vampires. And usually they involve love between a vampire and a human, which is a favorite cliche of many.
In the end, I want to say that this show has great potential for popularity. Well, if you consider that many people like to create anime based on vampires, it’s quite strange that no one decided to just take on the idea of creating an anime about vampire children who study at school. What an awesome anime that would be 🤧

Now that I think about it, whenever Polidori's plan isn't just killing them, but capturing them to "prove their real", I'm not sure how he's actually expecting that to go, once he has them.
Like, my guy, people are skeptical. It's gonna take quite a lot to actually convince them vampires exist.
Best case everyone will be wondering why you're so obsessed with this particularly large bat; worst case they'll see you kidnapped and imprisoned a sickly-looking 13 year old child (or hell, even younger if we look at Klot. Not a soul would believe the little guys a vampire, even if he straight up admitted it)
Paulus, like 8-out-of-10-times, you are going to be charged for a crime, you know that, right?!

References in School for Vampires 2/3
Paulus and Sunshine Polidori's last name, Polidori, is a reference to John William Polidori who is the writer who popularized the notion of vampires in modern literature with his short story The Vampyre. Plus, Paulus being an incompetent vampire hunter, he could be also seen as a parody of Van Helsing
And Paulus' brother, Byron, is named after poet Lord Byron, who had written the draft of The Vampyre before Polidori completed it
Arnie (is it spelled like that) is a human actor who is plays as a vampire, and his full costume makes him look like Francis For Coppola's Dracula when he is old and weak
Speaking of that movie again, Oxblood's niece Ravena generally looks like Mina Harker in her green dress and hat from the same movie when she meets Dracula. Similar haircut too, just with extra bangs
Orlock Feratu and his son Max Feratu both look like Count Von Orlock, Orlock's first name is a direct reference to his name and Max's is a play on word with how "Maxferatu" can sound like "Nosferatu" when said quickly, plus "Max" itself is a reference to the actor who played Count Von Orlock, Max Schreck

Guess who is back
And I'm again with some Sfv refs!!
Here are some refs for names in School for vampires that are connected w literature:
•Flestcher Stoker. Kinda obvious for ones who are interested in gothic literature: Bram Stoker, the author of "Dracula" (1987)
•Paulus Polidori/Sunshine Polidori. John William Polidori, the English writer who is known for his book "The Vampyre" (1819).
Also this book is considered to be the first book in which we can see the modern image of a vampire and the first book book about vampires in English.
Funfact: Mary Shelley was writing "The Frankenstein" at the same time. She was travelling with G.G. Byron and J. Polidori. They read some stories about ghosts and they decided to write something creepy by themselves . The idea of "The vampyre" was originally Byron's but he lost interest in writing it. So he retold his concept to Polidori who breathed the life in it.

Dipper Pines (Gravity Falls): A smart and curious guy always looking for secrets to uncover, but his over-zealousness and paranoia can leave others questioning his credibility.

He's also assured that by doing what he does he saves people.
Varian (Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure): Calls out and conspires against the local royalty.

Reasons why those with Netflix should watch School for Little Vampires
So, on Netflix there is this show called School for Little Vampires. It’s SUPER good. SO here is basically the show:
The original version is German and Netflix does have the German version with English subtitles to watch. I watch it in English because I don’t have time to watch a show, I have stuff to do as I watch so normally I just listen in. Anyways,
This is Oskar (name is the same in all versions.)
He’s the nephew of the school’s headmaster, Count Van Horrificus. He’s definitely not the scariest vampire. He passes out at the sight of blood and any kind of red liquid makes him squeamish. Normally the last little vamp to learn how to use his powers correctly, he would probably fit the human world better. Of course, he also is head over fangs for a sweet human girl who I’ll get to later.
I’m going to get through all the vamps before the minor human characters.
This is Gothetta (Gruftine in German)
She’s kinda the only vamp with any common since. She is almost like the Hermione of the group. She’s the kinda vamp that reads ahead of the lesion plans. My favorite part of her is every time some one tries to tell her she can’t do something cause shes ‘a girl’ she proves them wrong.
This is Stoker (Fletscher in German)
This is honestly the kid your gonna wanna smack a good number of times. He’s an idiot in the annoying way. He thinks he’s all that and his pride is more powerful than his vampire powers. He’s a huge jerk, especially to poor Oskar.
Leechy (Tinto in German) (I’m gonna scream I couldn’t find a very good picture of him)
He’s the brains of the group hands down. He reminds me a lot of Jeremy from Code Lyoko. He is nerdy but definitely a mini genius (though he’s still a kid so even his smarts can’t keep him from getting into trouble sometimes).
Klot (same name n all versions)
He’s the youngest, the sweetest, and the kindest vampire you’d ever meet (other than Oskar).
Ashley (same name in all versions)
At least this is what he USE to look like, till he was stupid enough to get caught in sun light.
Now he’s a pile of... well... ash. He sticks to Klot’s side and they consider each other best friends. Ashley can be a little narcissistic at times but not as bad as Stoker.
This is the human, Sunshine (same in all versions)
She’s the love of Oskar’s after life (and might even end up being the death of his after life too).
The main antagonist is Paulus Polidori (same in all versions)
He’s Sunshine’s grandfather and where he clams to be a vampire hunting pro but he doesn’t even realize that Oskar is a vampire himself. He comes up with plans that are honestly bound to fail. He’s seen as the town nut for good reason too.
Of course that’s not all of the characters but I didn’t want to make the post too long. It’s a great show with three season. This show might not have the most fluent animation or the best English dub, but the theme song is catchy and the show is truly worth a try. I can’t find much of a fandom behind this show (maybe I’m not looking in the right places) but it definitely deserves one. So please, give it a try and even id it’s not your thing, tell your friends!

Walpurg (the girl, despite him nearly killing her the first time they met, saw him as a great potential bff material while he mostly found her annoying at first, but, as the time went on, he started to appreciate her cute obliviousness, unbreakable positive attitude and great survival skills, which led to them growing closer and serious fights turning into fun and mostly harmless friendly wars and then into usual hangouts as friends)
