Happy Non-binary Parents Day!
Shout out to my friend Ully who joined me for coffee this past Friday while I was working on this and gave me the ideas to put a face on the guiscar and to add Eda in the background, helped me figure how to situate King (thanks to having much more toddler experience than me), AND posed in the doorway of the coffee shop to give me a reference for Eda. favorite toh ep?
It’s Thanks to Them because of the major personal impact it had on me, but O Titan Where Art Thou is a close second and the one I believe is objectively the best. TTT helped me through so much with the way it portrayed Luz’s mental health issues, and cemented her as my favorite character of all time. I’m forever grateful to that episode for what it did for me and assisted me in working through my own issues.
OTWAT is an objective masterpiece of an episode and I treasure it for its portrayal of the owl family and its themes of all of them just trying to hold onto all the simple, futile little gestures they can do (Luz getting Francois for King, Eda giving the kids one last good day), while things look hopeless. And of course King’s contemplations and development with Steve, masterpiece.

Something I just realized:
Every time the end credits music DOESN’T play, is when the owl family is separated.
Agony of a Witch: Eda got captured.
Clouds on the Horizon: the last time Luz saw Eda alive and well.
King’s Tide: Luz was separated from King AND Eda.
The way I see it is that the story’s ending wont play out properly if all three of them aren’t together.
