niku!! i am dropping by with some good music and new year wishes! 🎶🎉 thank you so much for being part of my 2023 🥺 you’re one of the first friends i made on here!! and i love talking to you niku!! i love your honesty and value your thoughts on things so dearly!!
as a year-end pick my favourite read from you is (though we may) fall apart (shocker it's not established... i know....) i have never been more satisfied seeing gojo socked on the cheek 😌 but!! other than that!! i just loved the tension in it, the dialogue and what's left unsaid!!! that typa stuff yaknow!!
if i may ask!! 🥺 (feel free not to answer if uncomfy!!) how was 2023 for you? what’s a favourite thing (anything) you discovered this year? do you have any reflections from the past year? any resolutions for the next? 🥹
good music u say... hehe... time to blast me weeb music.
you know, every time that someone says they like fall apart, it makes me really happy. i've mentioned it before but it initially started out as a vent piece but i'd gotten frustrated with it because it wasn't going where i wanted it to and i ended up shelving it (I also did consider rewriting it from reader's pov but i also wanted to explore gojo's pov in a more serious way). anyway, i would be shocked if i... actually had some established relationship fics for you to... read. maybe this year? hahaha.
anyway. 2023 huh.
i'd say 2023 was probably one of the roughest years of my adult life. usually the way things go for me is that either life will be hard because of work or life will be hard because of things at home but most of the time it is work. but about half-way through the year it was really bad on both fronts. i post about work occasionally, but the home life thing i didn't super talk about outside of like one-on-one conversations and a little bit on servers i'm on. but in short, i had to do a lot of adulting with very little guidance and i can't emphasize how terribly stressful it is to try and navigate a situation that not only have virtually none of your peers have gone through but none of the people you ask who are older and supposedly wiser than you can advise you either.
and as soon as that basically resolved itself, another issue reared it's head which basically lasted until the beginning of the holidays lmao.
but despite the hardships of 2023, good things also happened in it too, after all, it's the year that you came into my life. and not just you, but others too. it was a good year for growing closer to the little friends in my phone, the people in my pocket. admittedly there were some rough patches, a couple of friendships i'd thought i'd lost due to my own carelessness, but overall, it was a good year for interpersonal relationships. i told you already that i did not have anything super sentimental to say, but i really can't say enough how much i look forward to opening up discord and finding a bazillion messages from you. and the occasional thirst trap.
huh. did i go off topic? hm. maybe. i think i covered discoveries and reflections LMAO.
as for resolutions, with the way my year ended, i think i would like to strive to let the people i love how much i care about them. not that i think i was particularly... aloof about it in the past but. you know. i also would like to get better at writing more consistently lmao.

(yagi-no-eda here~)
Totally would circle back /pos. I’m also pretty new to the fandom!
My wife has liked Usagi Yojimbo and associated stuff for years but it’s only this summer that my brain has allowed me to really get into it, and make it past the first 2-3 comics. Not for lack of trying - it was just never the right time in an ADHD way*. Something always would distract me. I’ve inhaled all the comics I can in just the last couple of months and yeah, Stan came at me with a steel chair too. I did not expect …this whole situation. I’ve been a fandom lurker since 1999 and yet suddenly I have blog I use near daily, a sketchbook, and bunch of fic WIPS...
Mainly because I am Unwell over UY.
I have accepted my fate. This is always going to be a Thing now.
Though I did admittedly also inhale TMNT 2003 and Rise.
Travels with Jotaro is one of my favourite volumes, but I’m also weirdly into Bridge of Death rn and just….in general having a moment over Usagi’s time with Mifune. To the point I’m doodling intros for a fake show called The Mifune Years. He had this whole expected future and friends - denied.
* to be fair this is also the summer I found out its def ADHD driving this media analysis machine I call a brain
Hope this was an okay way to get back to you! /lil anxious
Feel free to network (or share thoughts) in my tags anytime, I love hearing what other people think. Also happy to chat anytime. Or feel free to tell me to back off and that's chill too :)
(been waiting to answer this for when i had more time but gave in; should be working on my fic(s) but you know how it is lmao. stay tuned for a very long post, because i love talking about things with people, especially things i like haha
very cool to see another person very passionate about this series! i grew up on 2003 (and the 90's movies-- my parents had the third one on cassette and i remember i wore that fucker out lmao) but it was always more of a "scattered interest" rather than something i was fully pulled into
i started getting into rise (read: The Algorithm came for me) probably mid-July of last year, but didn't fully fall into it until after the movie came out. it renewed my interest in tmnt overall, and i've been here ever since!
i did attempt to watch the usagi chronicles a couple of times, and i remember thinking they were fun but not really my thing. (i definitely want to revisit it, even though i know it won't hold a candle to usagi yojimbo. it does look fun in a silly way, which i can get behind.)
i knew vaguely about how big usagi yojimbo was, and that it was a commitment, but i'm surprised how quickly it sucked me in. i've never been super interested in stuff within the genre, but damn if it doesn't satisfy the autism. entire chapters devoted to infodumping about the edo period of japan? sign me the fuck up!
i especially did not expect how much it would make me feel. like. wow. ouch. usagi is just Some Guy but he is also so well characterized and you really feel for his internal conflict, 10/10.
i've been looking for series with older protagonists, especially those more focused on the familial/platonic aspect rather than romantic (i am just an nd queer on the interweb, can you blame me for yearning for found family?), but hadn't found any i really liked other than the tarot sequence by kd edwards (very good read, would highly recommend.)
also not to be a nerd but ohhhh my god i am so obsessed with the plot with mifune.
like i know the series takes place after that, and after the fallout of that, but just. wow. imagine devoting your entire being to another, to the point where you would readily die for them and their word, and then they die. they die, and you did everything you could to honor them in that death, but they're still gone.
like... that emptiness stays with you. you don't just get over that. maybe it's the "being raised in a cult" but wow, do i empathize with that.
idk if we explore more about the fallout/exact history with mifune/immediately following mifune's death but there is so much writing potential there. if i was not embroiled within turtle hell and 50,000 words deep in a multi-chapter fic already, i would absolutely write something for it.
like. this is adjacent to your interest in the topic, but can you just imagine (/rhetorical /general you.) as far as we know, he spent five days on the battlefield before he made it out to the tangled skein.
(which is one of my favorite additions like good god holy shit. that is so cool and angsty. your lord, days after dying, appears as a fucking ghost and saves you. like, if i were to be silly and funky, i would absolutely headcanon that as the reason that he was able to stand up and continue on. because i mean... what else? what else could motivate you to stand up once more after something like that?)
(well. honor. but mifune is the physical manifestation of honor in the narrative, so same difference? it's like both thematically significant and emotionally significant and-- ok im shutting up now. but i could talk for days, istg.)
but like. how do you reconstruct yourself from that? we see him holding tight to this sense of honor, even after his lord is gone, sent reeling (adrift in the waves) with only his soul and moral compass to hold to.
which makes it hurt so much more when we see these ideals of honor-- this ghost of a man, of a life, still haunting him years after the event-- still woven through the narrative, made to specifically conflict his deepest wants.
i joke about it a lot on my fic discord (i have a whole channel called 'father-material' devoted to just pictures of him hanging out with/taking care of kids), but something that seems very important to him is wanting to be a father figure, and wanting these connections to family and friends.
but that is contrasted against these ideas of honor, the very thing he built and rebuilt his foundation off of after it was torn away from him. and it's just so incredibly painful but also it makes sense, because he can't just give up the side of himself that is a samurai. too much of his person, his characterization, is built off of this.
to see it constantly clash with this want to settle down and finally rest, devote himself to his relationships/family rather than the code of bushido-- the very essence of honor itself-- ourgh ourgh ourgh its so good
(put aside the fact that he once said he could never serve another lord, and we know from the story that the idea of a "lord" can be more than just a person... he never stopped serving mifune, not truly. he still upholds the ideas of honor that mifune stood for/represented. as if his lord never truly left him.)
...i was going to say more, but then i realized this turned into a whole-ass mini-analysis, so i'm forcing myself to stfu. but basically: i have feelings about this series, man (/gender neutral).
anyway. if you ever do put something together, i would love to read/follow it! if i ever wrote something, it would probably be exploring the direct fallout of losing mifune, so hey, different niches but similar (:
also: never be anxious about talking to me ever in any way possible. i will probably be even more annoying than you in tags/asks/everything under the sun, and i do genuinely love talking to people who share my interests (typically about those interests.) i like to pretend i am an internet Cool Guy, however, it is a flimsy veneer to hide all the cringefail swaglessness and unending mental illness about my blorbos
(...i am so tempted to just invite you to my og turtle discord server so i can annoy you about usagi on the regular. also about what my reimagining of yuichi would be, because i have so, so many ideas.
i will refrain, but if you would be interested, it has been kinda dead as of late, so it would be nice to enrich the ecosystem a little by slowly collecting other usagi-interested individuals and slowly taking it over, one by one (/j /lh).)
anyway, same thing goes for me with my posts/asks/reblogs/messages/whatever. i am so very earnest, so if that puts you off, that's very chill and fine. however, as long as you're down to vibe, i am similarly down to vibe >:D
i once more apologize for this monstrosity of a reply. i would say it won't happen again, but my reading comprehension apparently does not extend to the "all things in moderation" maxim. instead i choose maximalism (to the max)
(sorry for that joke. yeah that will also happen again. sorry. /lh /pos)

going to tryand do a weekly journal type thing for 2024. i forget a lot of stuff so this is my new years resolution ok here we go
1/7/24
been cleaning out my bedroom at my parents house over break. lots of old stuff there i’d forgotten about. found a bunch of old sketchbooks (which i sorted by year and put away) and it really put in perspective how long i’ve been drawing. i’ve got sketchbooks from before i had a tumblr in that pile (making them impossible to get an exact year on) kinda want to go back and redraw some realllly old stuff of mine. maybe something of eggs since i’ve been working on her story lately.
also in the Cleaning i have found a crochet project i completely forgot about. i made like 60% of a sweater two years ago (i hand dyed the wool and everything). luckily i still had the pattern downloaded so i just yesterday finished the arms. now all i gotta do is block it and add the ribbing and i’m done. its a nice wool, one that is actually cozy rather than being itchy so i’m excited.
done some mending also. fixed some rips in my dad’s pants with some sashiko. not my cleanest work but it holds it together and fixes the problem. he was really excited about it :)
got in the case for a keyboard i’m building. my first custom keyboard!! the switches are pre-lubed so i’m debating if i want to get some and re-do it or if i’m satisfied as is.
i’ve started recording cassettes!!! its super easy to do right from my laptop and i’ve been having lots of fun making the j cards. very happy that i bought that recorder its so cool. so far i’ve done some The Unicorns stuff and i plan on doing Burnout Beautiful next. probably the demos on the a side and the one live performance recording on youtube on the b side (maybe after that i should do mook?)
in that vein, i’ve also been editing lyrics on genius. i needed lyrics to put on the little insert i made but some lyrics are wrong and now i’ve made it a mission to transcribe. made it to 300 IQ this week. transcribing is fun if hard.
started a stardew valley co-op farm with gort. we played for like 5 hours straight yesterday and got almost all the way through spring. sal is making our farm so cute and its so nice to hang out and just work together. need to make this a regular thing. overall not a super eventful week but a nice one. very chill.
some goals for next weekish
block the sweater
try on all the clothes in my bedroom and decide what can stay and what can be donated
start the drawing my boyfriends commissioning me for
set up my capture card so i can stream ghost trick to gort
pick out an eggs drawing from my old sketchbooks to redraw
record burnout beautiful to cassette
start crossposting things from twitter. i refuse to abandon this blog even if my brain is awful at remembering to post
songofthe week
pics below cut because this is long enough as it is
Tumblr media
>eggs (from one of said sketchbooks)
Tumblr media
> sweater (pre-finishing off the arms)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
> mending on my dads jeans (ft. the INCREDIBLE scissors he got me for christmas. holy shit these things feels so good to cut with)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
> bespoke the unicorns cassette (it says volume 1 because i put multiple albums on there so i dont waste tape)

JESSIE'S 2024 ROADMAP
So, I just wanted to ramble about the projects I have planned out for 2024. I've been very ambitious about some due to being able to afford to invest in them. Of course, art will forever be my #1 ambition and will continue to improve my craft. I'm always finding new ways to improve and exploring new ideas. However; I do have various non-digital art related! And I want to tell you all on my own personal blog about them and what you can look forward from me in the future!
MUSIC PROJECTS
I've actually been taking my time to figure out how FL Studios work, and how to work with it with Audacity. I've been attempting at voice training, so once I'm satisfied with my voice, I'd really love to do lyrics. I'm planning on working out something special for the first quarter of 2024. An EP called "Hear my Voice! (Existence)". I want it to be focused on the progress of HRT and Voice Training and just the idea of artistic freedom and the great feeling it is to be able to create things the way I want after being so long unable to. I don't know, 3 songs sound good for an EP. I want to be crafty and creative with them. I'd love for it to be Lo-Fi Pop Punk. As in, actual Lo-Fi, not the Synthwave kind of Lo-Fi. I want it to be the classic lower quality and lower frequency sounding music. I have a grudging respect for Lo-Fi and what it can represent, so I want to have my own take on it. The other project would be a proper album for once I get the hang of it all. I plan to call it "Celestial Wishes". I so far only have the plans for it to be Pop Punk and be very angelic sounding. I want it to be like heaven answering my wishes to finally do music. Obviously I won't sing about that-! I want it to carry the story of Ponies living life and miracles happening in various ways. How many songs ? God knows! It's only an idea thus far, and will take shape later. Right now I want to focus on making a couple of singles, maybe having one done in December still even. That and focusing on the overall theming and style I want for "Hear my Voice! (Existence)". I'll post all of these on a new Youtube Channel I've created, StardustJessie Music! Subscribe for when I start posting some!
YOUTUBE VIDEOS
I don't know how aware you are, but I do have a Youtube Channel. I primarily post Video Game Analysis Essays. I'm extremely proud of the ones I made this year, those being Deus Ex 2 and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Well, I have two more videos planned out! The first, POKEMON SUN & MOON ARE GREAT AND HERE'S WHY; Which I'm very ambitious and passionate about this idea. Everyone was very quick to defend Sword & Shield, Sun & Moon didn't get that same treatment. I want to be one to defend Sun & Moon, which I have a lot of argument for, and have a lot to say about its history and the state of pokemon in that age. I actually really hated S&M when I first played it and deeply regretted buying Ultra Sun (Which I still do.), so it's almost like a redemption arc for me! I'll have to gather up a shitload of footage though. Pokemon Red, Silver, Sapphire, Ruby, Diamond, Black, X, Alpha Sapphire, Red Team Rescue, Explorers of Sky, Gates to Infinity, Super Mystery Dungeon, Sword, Violet, Rescue Team DX, Sun, Ultra Sun, and more! These are just the pokemon games I'll have to record! Not to count other games I bring up as a precedent and examples like Persona 4 which is some 60 hours of gameplay! So yeah. It's a lengthy project. Thankfully I'm purchasing a 4TB HDD this week so I should be able to gather that much footage without a worry. I imagine I'll only have this done in a year or even 2025! It's a tough project. However; I want to also work on another video! MORROWIND WALKED SO SKYRIM COULD RUN (AWAY WITH MY MONEY); I really despite Skyrim for a lot of reasons. But I really love Morrowind. A lot of the things I see people praise Skyrim are things I genuinely believe they'd have a better time and enjoyment of those aspects if they played Skyrim. I believe I can actually get this video done in 2024 as these games are waaaaaaaaaaaay shorter than all the shit I have to play for a Pokemon project! But even then, Skyrim would be some 30 hours and Morrowind some 15, not to mention any other games I talk about. It's a great topic to analyse and I'll be very ambitious. I should get to write it sometime and have a W.I.P project in mid 2024 so it'll be my annual essay.
BOOK PROJECTS
I'm very interested in writing my own book honestly. Ever since I read Dracula I've considered writing a story that touches on similar themes and ideas and can evolve them further through the lens of 2024. I'm slowly taking shots at it. Sometimes I write a sentence or two. As any Tumblr Writer knows, it's very tough. Be on the look out! Once I have anything concrete I'll definitely post!
I believe this would be it! I don't have many individual projects, but they are ambitious and time consuming projects that I want to have done next year or have something substantial to show in 2024! There are more projects, like my Game Project which I'm very passionate about and have 74 pages of documentation of and still working on it! Since it's on very early planning stage I rather not talk too much. But maybe 2025 roadmap ? Thank you for reading this if you have at all! I just want somewhere to put all my ideas. Who knows. It'll be interesting in 2034 to look back to 22 year old me being so ambitious, while 32 year old me has those ambitions fully realised and onto new projects. This is almost like an archival of my personal artistic ambition and my passion for the crafts of Writing, Visual Arts and Music.

i did it! 😍 I finished the game before New Years! I rushed the final part of the game and skipped the sub events that you can apparently do before the final fight, but since I eventually plan to replay this as Milla, I’ll just do them there. definitely enjoyed this game and I’m glad I finally got a chance to complete it. I felt like right after the big plot twist with Maxwell and Milla, the game kind of…hmmm dipped a bit in terms of the story pacing for me. but that ending?? fuck yes!!!!! <3 thank you namco for not going down the usual path of male protag + female protag = lovers. anyway, more long ramblings about this beautiful game below because i need to (as usual) dump out my feelings about it!
so first for the things i liked.
milla!! holy crap, she's definitely become one of my all-time favorite characters in the tales series and i'm aching to start a drawing of her. what an amazing character. she's such a determined, courageous, strong-willed, bad-ass woman, and OF COURSE i'm a huge sucker for female characters who just know what they're about and don't let anything or anyone stand in their way! yeah her anatomy is outrageous (she looks like she could snap in half at any moment) but just like velvet i'm letting it slide because her characterization is just wonderful. she starts out not really caring for anyone or anything but her "mission" and protecting humans and spirits alike, but then elize happens!! leia happens!! and of course jade happens as well but like!! elize and leia never hesitate to show their care, love, and admiration for milla and just ahhhhh their relationship in the game is everything to me. that post-battle scene of milla patting elize and thanking her for her help would always make my heart want to explode of joy. 🤧 thank you namco for feeding me with such an admirable protagonist who clicked so well with the rest of the female characters. can't wait to play her side of the story!
i've already mentioned in another post how much i love teepo (hands down best tales mascot yet), but i also loved elize and leia as well. i know it's implied that jiao had something to do with elize's parents but next time i'll try to do more sub-events about her to learn more about her past and well, just learn more about her overall. leia snuck her way into joining the party and although at first i didn't really care for her, she is also super helpful in battle and her bubbly personality is what was missing from the party before she joins. i just didn't like (and understand?) why she kept saying/thinking that she was getting in the way or holding the party back because...excuse me queen when does that ever happen lol you are nothing but helpful. she right away agrees to help jude and milla look for what they need to get milla to walk again and puts her life at risk for it, how is that holding them back? maybe there's something i missed but yeah, pure love for elize and leia.
the fighting system in this game is so damn good and fun omg, probably my favorite after berseria. linking arts is so satisfying and reminded me of those final attacks you could pull off in arise, except with like...you could execute them any time you filled up the linking bar and not just waiting for an enemy to almost die. i played as jude most of the time but in my next playthrough i will definitely play as milla since her attacks looked so fun as well.
that plot twist about milla having been built by maxwell to bait out exodus was totally unexpected for me and i was just in shock watching all those cutscenes play out. from clapping of joy that milla finally gets The Four back to having my mouth agape at leia and alvin fighting. like...damn, the storytelling and pacing of this story might not be the best but that portion of the game was really good. again, can't wait to see what the hell is going on with milla in that time that jude is all down and depressed!
so many animated cutscenes, and of course all of them are a joy to watch! i'm not entirely sure but i think out of all the tales games i've played, i felt like this one really had the most? either way, would always love whenever we'd get one since i love how they animate milla!
the ending. wow. i really thought they were going to go down the usual route of "male protag and female protag fall in love and stay together" because well, jude fell head over heels for milla but i never really got the impression that milla felt the same way for jude (again, need to play milla's side). i thought for sure that milla was going to find a way to live as a human, kind of what happens with ratatosk and emil in symphonia 2, but to my pleasant surprise, that doesn't happen! milla doesn't even HESITATE to say no to maxwell to his idea of her living as a human using the schism's mana--she right away knows that she will live on as maxwell and continue her duty to protect spirits and humans alike. GOD that just made me adore her character even more! i mean SURE it sucks for her because she herself says something along the lines of being sad that she will have to leave her found family behind, but (after looking it up in the youtubes cus i just couldn't wait) she says in the post-credit scene that she is proud of the path she has chosen! she has no regrets!! what a fucking queen!!!!!!!!!!
and honestly i much prefer this ending in regards to jude and milla's relationship: a relationship based on admiration and respect for each other because SHEESH it's such a breath of fresh air and i'm so so so glad that namco went this route for them because i was seriously dreading the cliched ending lol. not that i'm against the usual female protag + male protag ending up together--as long as the proper development is there (see marta and emil, luke and tear etc), but again i just felt like the feelings were very one-sided from jude so hurray for this ending!
ok and the part where elize puts teepo away? i literally screamed "NOOOOO" and was so sad but at the same time proud of elize because she no longer has to depend on teepo to express herself! and she has friends now! but still it was a depressing scene to see just because of how much i loved teepo :(
alright, now for the dislikes:
the music. this one is no surprise because honestly, ever since symphonia 2, i feel like tales games just have not done well in the music department. i think there's like one or two songs that i might have to download for my collection, but other than that, yet another disappointment in the series.
the overworlds. sorry but they were so boring and predictable to explore after like...the third or so area! they all pretty much have the same layout except with different colors. just really nothing interesting about them and the same music for almost all of the areas wasn't helpful either. if xillia 2 has the same layouts to its overworld i will seriously scream lol.
the voice acting. i think this game has the worst (english) voice acting in all of the tales games i've played, and it was especially jarring after coming from symphonia 2, which i thought did such an excellent job with its voice acting. it didn't have a japanese option otherwise i would have chosen it. those character pop-in voices that would occur during battles where your characters would say something just wouldn't match with the intensity of the character portraits, plus half the time i wouldn't even be able to hear what the hell they were saying. also, as much as i love elize, her voice just didn't sound like a 12 or 13 year old (or however old she's supposed to be). i felt like jude's and leia's voice acting was also pretty meh, like the skits would sometimes really have no oomph to them or were pretty monotone. milla's had the same issue to her but with her you can kinda brush it off due to her personality. i initially didn't really like milla's voice acting at all but overtime it ended up becoming my favorite out of the main gang lol.
alvin... oh boy. i'm sorry to alvin fans, i know he's supposed to be like the complex character of the gang, kind of like how zelos was, but unlike zelos whom i eventually learned to SOMEWHAT like despite his many flaws, alvin never really grew on me and i had no interest in learning more about his character. maybe my mind will change once i get another playthrough of the game, but his constant betrayals and running away just got old after the second time and honestly it was annoying. yeah he was part of exodus since he was a kid and did what he needed to survive, but eugh i never really felt he clicked well with the rest of the party, even when he was moping around before the final battle and elize went and cheered him up. good thing that milla and jude never gave up on him since it's thanks to his cousin that we learned about how spyrites worked, but other than that........next!!!
the antagonists. so weak. i already talked a bit about this, but nachtigal? lame af. also he was alvin's uncle? whatever, the game never really gave me a reason to want to feel sympathy for him, so i brushed over this "revelation" as fast as the game did. plus his presence throughout the game was barely felt? presa, agria, and wingul, eh, also whatever. i thought it was cool how you got to work "with them" for a bit, which was a nice surprise, but other than that, just like alvin, don't really care for them. not sure if there are sub-events where you can learn more about their past (like presa's parents abandoning her or whatever), so i'll try to be more on the lookout for them in my next playthrough, but honestly...not really impressed. i would say that this is probably the weakest thing about the game, i didn't really ever felt threatened by any of the antagonists throughout it.
the pacing after the maxwell twist. ok, one thing that really bothered me was that...jude decides that he wants to save elympios and reiza maxia, because obviously that's what a protagonist does: they want to sacrifice no one and save everyone. but my problem with this was that, before this, the game never really gives you, the player, a reason to care for elympios? at this point you know two people that are from there: nachtigal, who we barely know anything about and is just plain evil, and alvin, who...has betrayed the party countless of times and is heavily disliked by the most innocent person in the party (i forget if leia also actively hates him like elize?). he isn't exactly someone that the game managed to get me to have sympathy for, unlike sheena from symphonia or shionne from arise, both who are from a different world which you are also trying to save. so like, why should i also share the same mission as jude? but ok, whatever, it's the obvious noble thing to do even though i don't understand it, fine. but even THEN! the whole elympios bit felt severely rushed. tethe'alla is laughing. like i think only 8 hours pass from when jude says he wants to save elympios to the end of the game. so in this time you go to elympios, learn how spyrites can help its people (and somehow this is credited to jude because...why again? lol), explore two small areas of this brand new alien planet, volt makes an appearance, gaius and muzet are out trying to destroy spyrixes everywhere (although this was more of a tell rather than show bit cus i never got this impression from the game), the gang has a crisis of whether to stick with milla and jude or...go back to reize maxia (why was this an issue in the first place? why would they back down now? they tried to make it seem like it was this big crisis that they would have to fight gaius, but why would they feel conflicted with this??), and just...what? right after the plot twist i said this was contending to be in my top three favorite tales games, but this last portion of the game was just...not it, lol. i loved gaius and how much he loves his people and how far he is willing to protect them (similar to milla...), but at the end it seriously felt like "how many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?" with how many times you fight him. the "final" level was also rather lame but i'd take that over arise's dreadful last level design.
so don't get me wrong, despite the rather weak antagonists (minus gaius and muzet, especially the latter lol her going insane was awesome) and that last portion of the game being...rather strange and honestly feeling kind of rushed, this tales game is such a pleasure and milla is one of the best tales protagonists. jude growing from being super dependent on milla and just following her around like a lost puppy to making his own decisions and saying he will be alright without milla (and changing the world helping with the spyrites research!) was also really great to watch unfold. great characters, great protagonists, great relationships within the cast, amazing gameplay, a refreshing ending...will definitely play this again!
with that i think i can confidently say that my ranking for the tales games is now as follows: symphonia, berseria, abyss, xillia, symphonia 2, zestiria, arise, vesperia.
alright, enough rambling. time to browse the xillia tag and reblog all that sweet content i've missed out on all these years!!

Top 5 TV series to keep you entertained through this heatwave:
1. The After Party (Apple TV) A modern millennial whodunnit comedy set over the course of one night at a high school reunion and, you guessed it, the after party! The assemble cast is great. I don't typically love a Franco, but you're supposed to think he sucks, so it works. Ilana Glaser is adorable as always and I love this role for her. Ben Schwartz gets a musical episode and overall really shines as more than a John Ralphio 2D type character, even though I also adore when he does that as well! Tiffany Haddish has some incredible lines as the detective and without giving too much away, each character gets a backstory episode and I really love how they do this! Sam Richardson and Zoe Chao are popping up everywhere together (eh hem Senior Year on Netflix!) and I loved seeing their faces together again in this. They are super adorable in this will they, won't they dynamic. Go put it on and you'll definitely want to binge till the end to solve the mystery!

2. High Desert (Apple TV) Patricia Arquette plays Peggy, a Pioneertown actress turn private eye who after the death of her mother played by Bernadette Peters, is making her way in the world in gorgeous vintage westernwear and 70's sunglasses with a wonderful dead-pan sense of humor. I could pretty much watch Patricia Arquette do anything, and this series allows just that! You won't expect where it's going and to me this series is the perfect tone. The other casting is fantastic as well. Matt Dillon plays her ex and Christine Taylor plays her sister! It's wonderfully written, hilarious, and between the desert back drop and vintage prints I was so satisfied with how good and visually appealing this show is! Sad story that is didn't get renewed, but maybe we can start a petition to bring it back because I really want to see how this story evolves. If that doesn't work, I will happily rewatch this season since I found it to be really outstanding!

3. Poker Face (Peacock) I know, I know, another mystery show and this time a role Jessica Fletcher would be jealous of? Natasha Lyonne's Poker Face is downright brilliant! She is so fun to watch as she interacts with tons of characters (including Judith Light) on her road trip or escape from which mountain? Not to give any spoilers, we'll just say she's driving a vintage car and each episode is kinda a different storyline. There is some continuity between the episodes but they all kinda stand on their own as well. I really liked this about it. It harkens back to the days of Murder She Wrote, Columbo, and maybe even 21 Jumpstreet! Her character, Charlie Cale's vintage looks are all so sweet and I really appreciated her wardrobe as it pertains to each new storyline. The acting is a real treat and you'll definitely want to pack snacks for this little roadside adventure.

4. The Horror of Dolores Roach (Amazon Prime) This series has the tiniest bit of a slow start, but the promise of a Cyndi Lauper cameo plus an original song on the soundtrack made me stick with it and I'm so glad I did! This show is super original with has a wonderfully dark sense of humor. Dolores, played by Justina Machado is recently out of prison and uses her "magic hands" as a masseuse to land on her feet. The character Luis, comes us with creative ways to solve their problems and should be creepy from the start but comes across endearing as a real testament to the likability of the actor Alejandro Hernandez. I really loved seeing how this story evolved throughout the season.

5. Survival of the Thickest (Netflix) Michelle Buteau is a mood and her world is where I want to live all summer long! This show is a wonderful watch in every way! Michelle is so funny and the story is poignant while remaining silly and very rewatchable. I'm already starting it for the second time. My favorite episode is the last one, due to the beautiful story arc, so I'm just gonna have to watch them all again to get there! I'm so glad this series came out this summer. It is such a lovely tribute to friendship, working hard, having integrity, and above all fun! We need all the queer joy we can get right now! Thank you Michelle Buteau!

TOP 5 SK8 Episodes
So I got tagged by @akira-cr to make this list, it took some time but I think I've sorted out my mind, thank you for considering me 😊. Now here comes the list, sorry if it's supposd to be objective, but I'm gonna let my heart out over here (It's gonna be a long post and I'm not gonna cut it ):
NUMBER 5 - Episode 6 - Steamy Mystery Skating?! (A.K.A. The beach episode 🏊‍♂️)
Tumblr media
Well this is supposed to be "breather" episode, and it's basically the one that sold the series to me. I like how fun and chill this episode is, although it does (further) foreshadow Reki's insecurity issues. The music is of course SUBLIME! "Seize the Moment" is probably my favorite insert song of all time! (it's been present in Reki's beefs as well, but here it really reflects the fun nature of his character and the show overall). And of coruse, FANSERVICE, not so much in how the boys were in swimsuits (though I gotta admit Reki does look good in them), but on the RENGA interactions!
Tumblr media
That hug gave me life! How Langa was worried 24/7 about Reki being injured, at the end when they skated together to escape from the Bantu! I gotta admit that I have some mixed feelings about the implications of Reki being attracted to the faceless girl (I mean, Bi rep is very important too), but I guess my shipping side was just as jelaous as Langa was supposed to be (according to the fans LOL).
NUMBER 4 - Episode 11 - King vs. Nobody (A.K.A. Reki rising! ✨🌺🌞⚙️)
Tumblr media
Reki is, without a doubt, my favorite character. He doesn't need to win, he doesn't need to be super flashy while skating, he just needs to be himself. He's been through a lot, many people (including me) have felt tremendously related to him, and seeing him in this episode is just satisfying. With his issues behind, with a promise to skate with Langa after he wins and no longer fearful, Reki rematches against Adam; and the way he does is fantastic! Taking advantage of his creativity, observative skills and mechanical knowledge on skateboarding, he faces up against the main boss and manages to not only endure his violent ways (which were gruelling to see, TBH), but also SOUNDLY HUMILIATE HIM in front of the whole S Community!
Tumblr media
Yes, Adam, the "God of S", in the ground covered in mud by a boy almost everyone dissmissed! It was really sunshine through rainfall! I must also add how much I liked to see his renewed relationship with Langa, how much they treasure their company after patching up. I want to elaborate on this in its own post but I personally see that their interactions from this point on are more, I don't know, tender, caring, still playful but not in an entirely comedic way. The way they see each other is also deeper, anyway, it's just what I see.
NUMBER 3 - A DRAW: Episode 8 - The Fated Tournament! and Episode 9 - We Were Special Back Then (A.K.A. The month in which I was in an emotional crisis because of anime sk8t3r b0is 🍎🐍😭🛹❄🍵🌸 )
Tumblr media
This is the point in which I got into the show, and the fandom (Yeah, haven't been around for too long). At this point the show wasn't the same, and I realized it when I caught up. Though there were some cool skating scenes in these episodes, the events that caught my attention were outside the road (Yeah, this was no longer just a skateboard anime, it's a whole lot more). Though I had been mainly focusing on Reki and Langa, I really liked having more backstory related to Joe, Cherry, Adam and Tadashi. Seeing how Adam went through a terrible childhood, convoluted teeange years to culminate in an adult with too much power for his own good and a twisted sense of "love", along with some extremely serious psychological issues was very interesting.
I acknowldge him as a complex villain, but that DOES NOT justify what he did to Cherry. This only proves that just because we know his backstory, we don't have to sympathize with him (Adam's just such a terrible person). On the RENGA side, we see Reki avoiding Langa after their rift, and how this affected both. We have Langa's sadness increase scene after scene, as well as his passion for skating dwindling as progressively. Reki on the other hand, just falls deeper and deeper in his depression, but also being unable to stop thinking about Langa, and he ends up going to S to see the latter's match against Joe. It's hard to see whether there's envy, jelaousness, frustration, admiration, pining or fear of being left behind in his mind. It must have been hard for a 17 y/o.
Tumblr media
Reki also defends Langa from people speaking behind his back and shouting his name during the race boosts Langa's performance tremendously. This culminates on Reki realizing that the thing he actually wanted was to skate alongside Langa, not on the side, not as support, but together, he just couldn't. There's also the scene which may or may not confirm that Langa's feelings for Reki are more than just friendship! (Felt represented, for reals).
NUMBER 2 - Episode 7 - We Don't Balance Out (A.K.A. This was supposed to be a fun show!😭⛈️💔️)
Tumblr media
I wrote a lot about the episodes in the previous spot, but this is the one that flipped the tables, the game-changer, and the one that hit closer home. It is a sad episode, no races there, it's just here for us to see how the circumstances affect the characters. It was hard to see how Reki, who at this point had been nothing but supportive and proud of Langa, starts to see him flying farther from him. Is it jealousness? Dissatisfaction? Is it fear of loneliness? Adbandoment issues? Is it feeling inferior? Frustration? Not being able to improve? Admiration? Care?
Tumblr media
And on top of that a broken promise. I just can't imagine how hard is it for a 17 y/o to deal with all of those conflicting issues in his head, as well as the toxic competitive environment on the "S Community". This just came to show that he wasn't just the excitable, goofy sidekick character, he goes deeper than that, and makes him relatable. We also see a deconstruction of the cool, aloof prodigious character in Langa, as he just can't comprehend what's going on with Reki, and he's hurt by it, but still needs to figure out his own ambitions and desries. This leads to the emotional conclusion of the episode (which in turn left me in the aforementioned 4-week-long emotional crisis, thank you)
HONORABLE MENTIONS:
Episode 12 - Our Infinity! - The race was cool, the Renga hug gave me life and everyone had a happy ending
Episode 5 - Passionate Dancing Night! - Despite the beef between Langa and Adam being cool, we start to see Reki worrying about Langa and opening up to him, further deepening their bond.
Episode 2 - Awesome for the First Time! - There's just something special about sharing something you're passionate about with someone else. Watching Reki teaching Langa the basics of skateboarding was heartwarming
NUMBER 1 - Episode 10 - DAP Not Needing Words
Tumblr media
After 4 weeks waiting, the anticipation for this episode was gargantuan. Reki's depression was hitting its lowest point, bordering in self-harm, and hurting others as well. Langa continues to look for Reki after seeing him briefly at the hospital while visiting Shadow and we get to see this loving scene where he watches videos of Reki learining how to skate. After confronting Tadashi and realizing that he loves skating because it's fun, he returns home to find out that Langa had been waiting for him but left shortly before he arrived.
Tumblr media
This leads to a heartful reunion, where words can't express their feelings, so they resort to do their thing, to skate, and that's where the feelings flow. This is when Langa tells Reki how he admires him tremendously and Reki understands that Langa'll be there by his side, and leaves his fears behind. With a mutual desire to skate together infinetely and a new dap, they rekindle their bond. People watched this show for different reasons, and though I like the skateboarding aspect because it looks cool, my interest leans more on the relationship aspect, and Reki and Langa's is so deep and intimate, and I liked seeing it grow from zero through different hardships (in other words, in all of the years I've been in a fandom, I had never shipped any other pair like these two, I needed to say that).
So I guess it's time to tag some people:
@pico-sour, @sleebycryptid, @elizabethslee, @itsamole, @kaorucherry, @blueflame97, @trieizieme, @tardiskitten, @lady-pendragon-9
So, if you've read until this point, thank you very much (I know it's not supposed to, but this post is yet again a very long "I love Renga" one, but it's what my heart wanted me to write 😅). I'd love to see people other than the ones I tagged showing their lists 😃

Album of the Week #15
The Black Album
(2019)
By Weezer
Overall Rating: 7/10
TL;DR: While it feels overproduced at parts, boy do they know how to write a catchy song.
Tumblr media
Okay everyone, I have a confession to make: I actually like Weezer. Like unironically. I know this means that a lot of you have lost your respect for me as a music reviewer (especially since I even listen to their new stuff) but that is a risk I am willing to take. (Another confession: I really don't like the Pinkerton album. I may review it here actually because I think it sucks and I wanna let the world know.)
When this album first came out I listened to it a couple of times, picked my favorites, then left it alone, which is what I do with 90% of albums I come across. I wanted to actually do a deep dive into one of my favorite bands so why not start with one of their most recent.
General Thoughts
So while I am not a "Weezer only had two good albums" kind of person I do understand where they're coming from after listening to this. Their first album is one of my favorites of all time and it is hard to see it as the same band that made this album. This is solidly pop-rock, even closer to the former. The guitar has lost its focus and it can sound way too overproduced for a group that is so tied with those who are the underdogs.
I do however think it is a little unfair to grade an album solely off of what the group has done before, so let's try and give this one a fair shot. And honestly, I don't think this is a bad album.
Something that is obvious throughout this album is how well Weezer can write a catchy chorus. I can count on one hand how many times I listened to most of these songs and yet I can remember exactly how each of them goes. "Byzantine" I think wins the catchy award and became one of my favorites of the album.
And not only are the choruses catchy, but they also have super satisfying chord progressions that just make you happy to listen to them. Yes, this isn't the kind of music Weezer started with, but it's been almost 30 years so of course there would be a change. And they seem like they enjoy what they're doing so I fully support the change.
Now onto the individual songs. The two champions of this album to me are "Byzantine" and "High as a Kite". The second is the best in the album to me as it feels like a nice mix between the heart of old Weezer and the new pop sound they have. It is objectively a good song and just makes me happy.
There were a couple that were so close to being phenomenal but just missed the mark by a few inches. When I first listened to the album "Can't Knock the Hustle" was my favorite but when I listened to it closely I noticed how empty the bass part is. It tries to do something cool and experimental but it didn't land for me and instead felt like the song was off balance. I still get the song stuck in my head 24/7 though. "Piece of Cake" has a killer piano intro but slipped into a subpar chorus. It also reminded me too much of Marker Man, although I've found that most things remind me of that DS game.
Some songs are just good enough to not skip and keep playing ("Zombie Bastards", "Too Many Thoughts in my Head", "I'm Just Being Honest", Living in L.A.") and some are just okay and I would think about skipping them if I were around other people ("California Snow", "The Prince Who Wanted Everything")
Final Verdict
Yeah I'm not gonna buy this one and if you don't like new Weezer you definitely won't like this at all. Overall I do think it's a solid album and a good suggestion to anyone who likes pop-rock. While yes I have had some really bad incel vibes from Weezer fans I swear you gotta give the band itself a chance.

HEY FELIX can you give us a full run down of your thoughts on the two new eps??? I'm super interested!
oh gosh, they were so much!! i kinda got swept up in the pink diamond drama, but here’s a few pointers on both episodes:
~ lars of the stars ~
Tumblr media
i’m not that invested in the lars / off color relationships yet, it’s still fresh and we didn’t actually see any of their shenanigans, but… i do find them believable! lars going undetected by gem scanners is a good way of giving humans an advantage - thanks to homeworld not even considering them a threat. after so many years of hopelessness, i buy that they took to lars as a leader quickly. i’m still gonna need to see more of them to truly ‘care’ though.
speaking of believable: THANK YOU CREWNIVERSE FOR LETTING LARS STILL BE KIND OF A JERK. he was annoying and it was great. God, i was nervous they might develop him too quick, by using one traumatic experience to make him a Good Boy Forever. it makes sense for him to be braver, but i’m glad he’s still. well. lars.
emerald was cool! i like that she was bluffing the whole time, and her voice actor does a bangin’ job. in retrospect, this makes it fun that the marketing played up how ~”evil”~ she is, when she just. loves her ship so much. she can’t bring herself to hurt it. oh my gosh, i hope we see her again soon-ish (obviously, like any character, we will see her again). she’s so scandalized, it makes me think of early peridot.
i, like others, was kiiinda worried it was gonna be self-contained and focus on how lars is doing now (which is fine as an episode concept, but @CN i want more out of an Event), so i was relieved “lars of the stars” was mostly setup to the next episode! it works fine as that - though i wonder why they’re bringing lars back to earth so soon! i got the sense he’d found some purpose in helping steven, but maybe his first priority right now is getting the others to earth, and then finding out what he wants for himself.
~ * jungle moon * ~
Tumblr media
now that’s a title that makes you Think in retrospect, huh. what were they doing with this moon base. there’s plenty of plant life, and it’s not hollowed out, so… was it not worthy of full colonization?
i love the first half of this episode almost as much as the second. I’M VERY RELIEVED THEY DIDN’T ACTUALLY KILL THE ALIEN. more than that, i’m very glad stevonnie was visibly relieved that their little in-the-moment reaction didn’t turn them into an actual killer. fuck the trailer for making stevonnie look totally unbothered by it. heck yeah steven hates the thought of killing anything, animal or alien or humanoid. this is what i hoped it was gonna be.
stubble!!! tiny fat bird!!! big fat bird!!!! water-drinking friend!! cool plants!!!!! :D
everything about the dream is fantastic. this is clearly something they’ve been working towards for a very long time, there were so many details that can keep theorists up at night - the flowers surrounding stevonnie’s hammock. connie’s relationship to her mother. the picture of stevonnie and their “parents”. nephrite. yellow’s (relative) patience with pink as opposed to when talking to almost anyone else. the parallels between pink and ‘her’ gems. stevonnie accessing pink diamond’s memories in the first place, even though she’s supposed to be “shattered” (remember, steven only accessed blue diamond’s mind as it was happening).
pink diamond is a delightful character thus far, especially for having such hype around her. a good design, personality and understandable motivation. having her be so young and inexperienced is a fabulous twist, and really adds to her complexity and my theories around her relationship with… /as… rose quartz.
everything with blue and yellow’s grief is also more sympathetic in hindsight: oh, they didn’t just lose a friend or lover. they lost what, in human analogy, is more like a child to them. the youngest of them. of course blue keeps what little they have of hers - pink was just getting started. (side note: yes, yellow is annoyed by pink, but it’s the same kind of fond annoyance where someone is bothering you, but you still love them. anyone who doesn’t think yellow was putting on the kiddie gloves needs to seriously rewatch her exchanges with pretty much anyone else. she doesn’t show it in a typical way, but she cares for both pink and blue).
now, i’m famously someone who looks at the Big Picture and cares more about the Overall Narrative than individual episodes, but even i have to admit, “jungle moon” was one of the most satisfying and intriguing single episodes we’ve had in a while. no one was ready. what was leaked didn’t remotely spoil any of the big twists. what a wonderful payoff to the hype. i cannot wait to see where we go from here, this was just the shot in the arm i needed.

Hey, I really want to watch the x-men movies, but there are so many and I'm super confused about in which order I should watch them, it kinda feels like there's kind of a star wars thing going on with "maybe the first one is the first one but maybe one of the later ones is actually the first one". Could you help me out there, since your magneto posts are kinda the reason I want to watch them in the first place? (Sorry this is super ramble-y :D)
Hi! - I often have the opposite problem: I try to get people to watch the X-Men Movies but I don’t know which order to best suggest them.
Before I get on with my advice for the general franchise:
Since you said you’re interested in Magneto, I think my easiest suggestion would be to start with X Men: First Class - which gives us Magneto’s background story + him kicking ass as a Nazi hunter and he’s kinda the hero there. The other suggestion would be to start with the original X Men movie from 2000. He’s the antagonist there, but he actually has valid points and makes them. Other good Magnetos are in Days Of Future Past and X Men 2.
Those are just my Magneto-Suggestions, but I’ll come back to him. Not just because you said my posts got you interested, but frankly. Because I stan him.
I make this into two sections, because I feel like I need to explain my reasoning a little, but feel free to skip right to the second half of this post
Pre-Blabla
Basically the X Men Franchise have several sub-categories:
1) The Original Triology - from the early 2000,
X Men,
X Men United
X Men Last Stand.
They play in the “near future” - which basically means present day. The main-characters here are Logan/Wolverine and Rogue but the triology also features the biggest spectrum of X-Men characters and Magneto being a very sarcastic Ian McKellen whose life mostly revolves around taking down anti-mutant politcians and dragging literally everyone. He’s pretty understandable as an antagonist in X Men and in X Men Last Stand and kind of an anti-hero in X Men United.
2) The Wolverine-Solo Movies - along with Deadpool the only X Men Movies that focus on one character in particular:
X Men Origins: Wolverine
The Wolverine
Logan.
They basically cover  the entire life of Logan/Wolverine - which is a pretty long life despite his smoking habits. And drinking habits. And almost getting himself killed habits.
3) The Prequels:
X Men First Class
X Men Days Of Future Past,
X Men Apocalypse.
They’re the backstory for Charles, Magneto, Mystique and Hank and from Apocalypse on also for the characters you meet as grown ups in the prequel. (The next one will be Dark Phoenix and it will focus on Jean Grey from what we know).
The prequel movies start in First Class with (flashbacks to) the childhoods of Charles and Erik and Raven/Mystique and usually each movie takes place in a different decade.
X Men First Class is in the 60s, Days of Future Past in the 70s and Apocalypse in the 80s and Dark Phoenix, which will come out this year, is set in the 90s. Some don’t like the decade-skipping, but I like it because it’s really an interesting way to follow the characters. The only thing that would make it better is mockumentary style.
4) -- Deadpool. He’s his own sub-category. Because he’s Deadpool. Basically you can watch Deadpool whenever you want - there’s a few jokes you’ll get more if you’re familiar with the franchise, but basically you’ll get the movie.
There’s also the 2 TV shows “Legion” and “The Gifted”. Legion is about Charles Xavier’s son David Haller and his struggle with his powers and multiple personality disorder. I didn’t have the opportunity to watch Legion yet, but I heard good things.
I did watch The Gifted and I really loved it and since it doesn’t feature any major X Men-characters from the movies or storylines it should be safe to watch at any point. I think the only one from the movies in there was Blink but you didn’t need to know that to see The Gifted, because her movie appereance is chronologically AFTER The Gifted.
Also you get to meet kids of Magneto (Polaris) and of Emma Frost, so that might make it more satisfying to watch it after X Men First Class. If you like Magneto, you’ll likely also love Polaris whose slowly adopting her father’s politics and ideology in the first season and got his powers and a better fashion sense.
More confused then you were before you started watching this? okay.
To The Point: Which Order To Watch Them In
The most straight-forward way to go about it is to watch them in the order they came out:
The Original Triology first, then The Wolverine-Solo Movies, then The Prequels and Deadpool. Of course, Deadpool, Logan and The Wolverine all came out during the Prequels, but plotwise it doesn’t make much of a difference (although I recommend watching The Wolverine before Days Of Future Past, because it connect The Last Stand and Days of Future Past a bit better. If you want to be as precise as possible you can look up the order of publication here: x
As I said, that’s the most straightfoward way to go about it, but you can take liberties which brings me to my second suggestion - which is one I often make to people and earn glassy eyes.
If you want to get a “broader” taste of the franchise, a good idea is to take turns and watch a bit of each. So here’s a suggested order which gets you into contact with every part of the franchise quickly without sacrificing too much of the “overall” plot.
First of all, as I said, Deadpool can be watched at any time. The later you watch it the more jokes you get - but because it’s Rated R and the others aren’t, they can’t really use it to further the overall plot and you’ll always be fine.
The same goes for Logan. Of course, Logan is based on probably the most Earth-shattering event in X-Men history, but so far the only mention of that event is in the movie Logan and no one knows what really happened yet, so don’t let that deter you. If you watch it, you know as much about it as anyone else.
For the others I would recommend:
Either the original X Men from 2000 or X Men First Class first, because you don’t need pre-knowledge for either of  them. (In fact, X Men First Class might be a bit more exciting if you don’t know exactly where everyone is going to end up. Also you will get into it with a lot more characterisation and motivation for the shit Magneto does. Although I think the original triology also gives him enough movivation.) But if you start with First Class, I would still watch X Men next.
After that I would recommend X Men United because it’s the best way to follow the storyline of the main-characters.
X Men - Wolverine Origins (My only suggestion here is to watch X Men United before you watch Wolverine Origins, because it would kinda spoil stuff for you. Wolverine Origins also has kinda a reputation for one of the worst movies in the franchise, but personally I didn’t think it was all that bad. I enjoyed it.).
X Men Last Stand
The Wolverine - In theory I’d say you can watch The Wolverine all on its own, but it would spoil the finale of Last Stand for you, so I would watch that first and it does connect it a bit more to Days Of Future Past so I would recommend watching it before that.
Days Of Future Past - Finally another prequel movie. Aka the Time -Travel one. (Yes I’m sure the Avengers will go there in Infinity Wars 2, but let it be noted, the X Men did it first and they did it pretty well.) The thing is, the storyline is divided, featuring the “Old” characters from the original triology (although they’re literally old now) and the cast of the prequels living a pretty shitty life in the 1970s and suffering the consequences of the Vietnam War and the JFK assassination. Things that hit mutants pretty hard apparently.
Here’s the thing about Days of Future Past and it’s general X Men Movie-weirdness: There are two versions of the movie. The normal “Days of Future Past” and “Days of Future Past: The Rogue Cut.” The “Rogue Cut” actually features Rogue from the original theory. The normal cut doesn’t. She’s cut from the entire movie. So while you can basically watch Days Of Future Past at any time and get the general idea (the most important one I would recommend watching before Days of Future Past is X Men First Class), if you watched the original triology and liked Rogue as a character, you might want to go for the Rogue cut. The DVDs/Blu-Rays don’t really cost more and you learn about an additional character.
X Men Apocalypse: I have issues with the movie, but well. It exists. It introduces the grown-ups from the X Men school in the original triology as children and explain how they met Charles. I think X Men Apocalypse can also be watched at almost any point, because it doesn’t really feature much of the overall storyline - it’s certainly easier to place anywhere than Days Of Future Past.
Dark Phoenix - As I said, this one isn’t out yet, but from what I read I recommend watching at least X Men Apocalypse before you watch that, because the focus will be on the young Jean Grey as well as other characters introduced there.
When it comes to Magneto, the movie sounds promising too, because from what the makers said so far it sees him mentoring Jean after a break-down and building up Genosha, the mutant sanctuary island that he ruled over in the comics for a while. Also there’s been a promo pic of a funeral and ever since I feel dread coiling inside my stomach and everyone is speculating who will die.
Again, fit Deadpool and Logan in there how you like. There will also be New Mutants coming out soon - we don’t know all that much about that really, but none of the major characters seem to feature, so you’ll likely be fine watching that as well.
Also if you’re interesting in a (well-written) Magneto I recommend the animated show Wolverine and The X Men (which also sees him as the ruler of Genosha and there’s a lot of focus on him and his relationship with his children in that one). Also there’s one episode of Iron Man_ Armoured Adventures (”The X-Factor”) which does pretty well by Mags.
Most importantly:  Due to writing and ret-conning and Time Travel, the X Men Franchise is a bit of a mess when it comes to continuity. Even if you’re watching this in the perfect order, there will be things that JUST DON’T MAKE ANY FUCKING SENSE (And not just that Magneto doesn’t age for 40 years and has like 5 years left to go from Fassbender to McKellen).
Basically - have fun with it. Watch whatever looks fun and interesting to you - you’ll probably get the basic story of every one of them and if you want to make sure that you would get one or wonder about any basics you would need to know to watch one of the movies, feel free to send me an ask.
Have fun and I hope you enjoy them!

Hey, anon who asked to be typed here! Don't worry, gonna wait! I'm usually calm and reserved, love to joke and am cheerful, but not loud. Very sarcastic, curious but not intrusive and a bit quirky. Competitive, not always in a good way and I don't show it. Unfortunately procrastinator, but I reach the big goals (I underestimated some hobbies I need to cut out 'cause they eat time/stress me out/can't get good enough at them - I need to feel capable at what I do - so I choose carefully now). (1/5)
Anon (cont.) In my natural state I daydream a lot, making up stories I’d like to live or for writing purposes. When I listen to music I need to associate a scenario to the songs. I spend so much time analyzing. I just love to think of everything as a puzzle, even when friends talks to me about problems. I want to understand what’s behind things and if all falls to place, both in theory and facts it’s so satisfying. I like to be prepared, carefully planning the road or dinner (still fails sometimes) (2/5)
Takes me little time to judge if someone’s interesting as a person and I have a sort of system which tells me how much I can share of myself with people. A portion of the feeling realm is for myself only. I do tend to bury some perceptions. I cry only alone, otherwise it means it’s too strong to hold in (hate big waves of uncontrollable stuff). I almost never initiate a conversation, especially in a group or with strangers. I hate small talk and feel super awkward when things are forced (3/5)
I love to debate though, when the topic is of interest I get quite excited. If I’m not expert I don’t want to venture and lose face, I listen. Gathering new information is always useful. If people start with commonplace, I’m out, no need for sterile talk. I cherish few and think highly of even fewer. I need variation not to be bored, find something to do and keep myself active, lazy days make me mentally restless and when that happens I’m in a loop I need to get out of (takes effort). (4/5)
I’m overall responsible. These years I’m getting more and more realist. Never believed Santa Claus ‘cause for starters, now… I have the sensation people failing to see the truth of many things is plain frustrating, or just wasting time with useless thoughts that go against some healthy pragmatism. If you already know the solution to a problem, just do it and quit complaining/repeating mistakes. Can’t stand hotshots, there’s always room for improvement. (5/5) Thank you in advance!
Wow, a 5 part ask CHALLENGE ACCEPTED
Just from reading it over once, I’m gravitating towards INTX given the information you’ve provided. I don’t want to repeat everything you said, but I suppose I need to back up my claims with evidence before we dive in to J vs P, so here we go:
Reserved, preferring to keep emotions to self, isn’t a conversation initiator, all point towards being a typical introvert. So let’s go with that unless you think it’s incorrect. Curious and imaginative are traits associated with iNtuition; and while it’s possible to have a day-dreamy Sensing type, it’s probably less common. You did mention associating songs with scenarios which seems sensory based, but if you mean imaginary scenarios then that would point towards iNtuition again.  A lot of the time, a thirst for knowledge leads people to believe that they are a Thinker, except this trait is in actuality a trait of iNtuition. However, other things you mentioned, such as being analytical, theoretical, enjoying problem solving all seem to point towards T. So I would say you are an INTX.
As for wether or not you are an INTJ or an INTP, just looking at those two letters won’t be much help so we will look at the cognitive functions. A lot of what you said could be J or P, which is why the cognitive functions will be helpful (if you don’t know about the cognitive functions then please go research them). Just from what you’ve said, I’m thinking that Ti seems much more likely than Te. Ti is typically associated with puzzles and enjoying problem solving. There also wasn’t anything you said that indicated Te really, so I think it’s safe to say INTP. However, I do proceed with a bit of caution though because mistyping is fairly common, so always look for the type that you think sounds the most like you, even if you have traits that may be associated with another type. It’s always hard to type someone when you don’t know them very well but the more information the better. Hopefully this helped!

So.... a random rant for you~
What is your opinion on Falcon And The Winter Soldier? If you haven’t watched the whole series, you don’t need to answer this ask, as it contains a lot of spoilers-
Personally that shit was slow AF in the beginning, but when we finally started it was... W o w.
📢Spoiler 📢
And Sam as the new Cap?! JWHSJQHWIGWIWGIWHS When I first saw him in the full new suit, I just jumped up out of the couch and screamed YES over and over.
📢spoiler end 📢
It had its flaws, but hey! It all got sorted out at the end. Wait lemme check a thing- Yup we have some badass GIFs of Sam-my-buddy being badass and Zemo awkwardly dancing.
N i c e
Anyways,
📢Spoiler 📢
You know that scene when Sam lands with Karli’s body in his arms? My first thoughts were literally “ Captain Angel “.
Zemo was looking so god damn satisfied when he heard on the radio that his Butler ( right ? ) had blowed the hell out of the prison transport with the super soldiers. Of course I am feeling sad for them, but BOIIIII I SAW THAT SMIRK
📢spoiler end 📢
Sorry if this was super-duper long and weird, but I just wanna rant :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi! Sorry this took me a million years to answer. It took me a few weeks to watch the last episode, and then I needed some time to get my thoughts together.
This is one of the first times I have been consuming Marvel content in real time, and being on tumblr for it, so it is a bit of a different experience for me!
I think as a whole I liked the show. It did have it's flaws, and some of the ways the writers handled things annoyed me. But I have to remind myself, this isn't a new thing.
I have some complaints about how the show handled trauma and PTSD...but that is a complaint I have for pretty much every Marvel movie ever, so I guess it isn't really a surprise.
I didn't mind the pacing, but I felt that we might have been able to have more character development if we'd had one or two more episodes in the series.
It think it was good that the show began tackling the complicated post-Snap world, and the complicated legacy the shield has for Sam. Of course there are things they could have improved, but I don't want this post to have negative focus, because a lot of people have spoken longer and more eloquently about the issues there were.
I gotta say I loved pretty much all of Sam's fighting scenes. The opening scene where he was rescuing that soldier was so awesome. And the final bit with him and the helicopter was just as good.
I also liked that last bit with Bucky hanging out with Sam's family! I definitely wish we would can seen more of Sam's family and his backstory.
Overall, I'm glad this show was made, and I can enjoy it while also acknowledging how it could have done better. Thank you for your ask! ♥

WHY I'M SMARTER THAN SYNC
Is there a downside to ramen profitability? But there are limits to how well you understand the problem you're solving for them.1 But the real problem for Microsoft wasn't the embarrassment of the people they never got. Having to hit a growth number every week forces founders to act, and acting versus not acting is the high bit of succeeding. If you'd proposed at the time and then it can take years to figure out what it's doing. If investors had sufficient vision to run the companies they fund, why didn't they start them? If it keeps expanding, it might expand into the acquirer's own territory. Whatever the outcome, the conflict between the manager's schedule and the maker's schedule, though. The last one might be the most common. Technology companies made money by trade, and water was the only economical way to ship.2 Who will win, the super-angels. Reading Period, when students have no classes to attend because they're supposed to be bound by some plan you made early on.
But it does share something with the one that's profitable in the traditional appointment book, with each day cut into one hour intervals. They have little discipline.3 Rtm and Trevor and I do because we always have, and Jessica does too, mostly, because she's gotten into sync with us. Or it could be a problem. But unlike most people they had the confidence to notice it. Super-angels compete with both angels and VCs was a very inconvenient one for startups, because they're untainted by experience.4 Use difficulty as a guide not just in some metaphorical way.5
Who is? Because I didn't realize the answer till later, after I went to work at Yahoo.6 Artix was like a game. Only a tiny fraction are startups.7 Stay upwind. I wish I'd grasped that in high school: what you want. So don't get too attached to your original plan, because it's their work that yours is going to be Make something people want. Startups pass that test because although they're appallingly risky, the returns when they do succeed are so high.8 For unambitious people, this sort of thing to store-bought ones—a mere expression of the proverbial thought that counts. Facebook made a point of encouraging the most outrageous thoughts I can imagine what I'd tell them about startups if they were a race apart.9
One wrote: While I did enjoy developing for the iPhone, the control they place on the App Store: a software publisher. They're happy to buy only a few thousand, but those few thousand users wanted it a lot. Until you have some users to measure, you're optimizing based on guesses. But in their time, they had to work very hard to make themselves heard by users, because those are the only real cost is the founders' living expenses. In the other languages I had learned up till then, there was a type of programmer who would only put five or ten minutes rearranging it to look interesting. But in technology, you cook one thing and that's what you do. Fortunately there is a trick you could use it.10 You have to make the same decision: as hard as you possibly can. If in each new idea you're able to re-use most of what you want. But what if your manager was hit by a bus? It was obvious to us as programmers that these sites would have to pay close attention to their books. Sometimes the changes are advances, and what would make it faster, you almost always do get it.
But Android is an orphan; Google doesn't really care about it, if it is true, is another question.11 Representational art is only now recovering from the approval of both Hitler and Stalin. It's also obvious to programmers that wealth is something that's made, rather than being influenced by what he wishes were the case.12 A bear can absorb a hit and a crab is armored against one, but I have never had to use CLOS.13 To some degree, it offers a way around these limitations.14 I know the afternoon is going to be bloated and full of duplication anyway. And you'll do it best if you introduce the ulterior motive toward the end of my working day, and I am self-indulgent.15 But any idea that's considered harmless in a significant percentage of times and places, and so on. Movie studios?16 But a very able person in a big company, then a smart hacker working very hard without any corporate bullshit to slow him down should be able to resist, or at least language implementors, like to write compilers that generate fast code. When you hear such labels being used, ask why. That's going to change the rules about how to raise money.
This is a different form of profitability than startups have traditionally aimed for. You don't see faces much happier than people winning gold medals.17 I should use Holland as an example of a startup seems like a fraud. An organization that wins by exercising power starts to lose the ability to win by doing good work. For startups, growth is a constraint much like truth. What sort of company might cause people in the future will find ridiculous.18 I wasn't working at my day job I'd start trying to make Web sites for galleries—that's the ticket!
It's equivalent to asking how to make money. So VCs who invest in them. The defining quality of Silicon Valley is not that you're 30 times as productive, and get in trouble for seem harmless now. But neither should you let them run the company. You should get another multiple of two, at least in our own time.19 Just keep playing. What this meant in practice was that we deliberately sought hard problems.20 Some may even deliberately stall, because they were built one building at a time. Or more precisely, the effect of subroutines in the inherently stateless world of a Web session. I did be satisfied by merely doing well in school.
Notes
Just use the standard series AA paperwork aims at a time. It might also be argued that we should work like blacklists, for the linguist and presumably teacher Daphnis, but instead to explain that the people they want impressive growth numbers. And you should be designed to live a certain city because of some logical reason e.
The Duty of Genius, Penguin, 1991.
I don't know how the courses they took might look to an associate if you ban other ways to make money for depends on a saturday, he saw that I know it didn't to undergraduates on the cover.
There are situations in which income is doled out by solving his own problems. If you don't think you could build products as good as Apple's just by hiring sufficiently qualified designers. We're delighted to have gotten where they are in love with their decision—just that they only like the outdoors?
Icio. And it would have started to give up your anti-dilution provisions, even if it's the right question, which is not much to generalize. There are also much cheaper when bought in bulk. Ian Hogarth suggests a good way to create a portal for x instead of blacklist.
This is everyday life in general. An accountant might say that it also worked for a startup at a middle ground. Yahoo released a new version from which a seemed more serious and b the valuation of hard work. It is still possible, to take care of one's markets is ultimately just another way to create wealth with no business experience to start some vaguely benevolent business.
Not in New York, people who currently make that their prices stabilize.
Looking at the mafia end of the standard edition of Aristotle's immediate successors may have to get at it, by encouraging them to get them to make money; and with that additional constraint, you can tell that everything you say is being compensated for risks he took another year off and went to get going, and the leading edge of technology, so that's what we do. After lunch we went to Europe.
Even Samuel Johnson said no man but a blockhead ever wrote except for that might be a strong one. It's not a programmer would find it more natural to the present day equivalent of the clumps of smart people are provoked sufficiently than fragmentation.
What happens in practice signalling hasn't been much of the world, but I wouldn't bet against it either.
Zagat's there are already names for this to realize that species weren't, because living at all.
In fact, if you do a very good. What he meant, I use the phrase frequently, you waited too long to launch. The other cause is usually some injustice that is exactly the point of view anyway.
Incidentally, tax rates don't tell the whole fund. They can lead to distractions even more closely to the erosion of the most part and you start to leave. If this happens it will have to do this all the difference directly.
So instead of using special euphemisms for lies that seem promising can usually get enough money from it, and mostly in good ways.
The hackers within Microsoft must know in their early twenties. If the startup is compress a lifetime's worth of work have different needs from the example of a reactor: the energy they emit encourages other ambitious people, but it is very common, but explain that's what you're working on what you have to do that? Don't invest so much in the middle class first appeared in northern Italy and the Imagination by Hilbert and Cohn-Vossen.
Then Josh Wilson came in to pick the former. You should only need comments when there is a bad imitation of a type II startup, and as a consulting company is always raising money in order to switch to a partner, which wouldn't even exist anymore.
When I talk about it as a general-purpose file classifier so good. Miyazaki, Ichisada Conrad Schirokauer trans.
Whereas when the audience at an ever increasing rate to manufacture a perfect growth curve, etc. Most expect founders to do is keep track of statistics for foo overall as well. Many will consent to b rather than ones they capture. Once again, I'd say the rate of improvement is more like Silicon Valley is no longer a precondition.
Which implies a surprising but apparently unimportant, like a wave. There were several other reasons, the term whitelist instead of profits—but only if the founders want the valuation a bit misleading to treat macros as a definition of property without affecting and probably also the fashion leaders. Statistical Spam Filter Works for Me. There are fairly closely related.
After lunch we went to Europe. I'm not saying friends should be specialists in startups.
