In my opinion, Artemis and Angeline have very similar experiences of paranoia as a symptom of
Tumblr media
And thus every single family vacation will have a like, medieval war general moment where you can watch them animatedly debate the merits and/or weak points of whatever barricade they've constructed in front of the hotel room door
#I jest but I HC that Artemis' paranoia somewhat genetically comes from his mother's side whereas his issues with dissociation and#reality assessment is more genetically on his father's side of the family#The twins occupy this weird space in the family where they were born after a lot of things exacerbating mental illness in the family were#less present than when Artemis was young due to the Fowl empire#like my personal version of this is watching my aunts' kids grow up in a house where they were diagnosed with autism and adhd really really#young bc their mothers work in early ed. and are really knowledgeable about how to apply that in their home so that they have the support#they need#and let me tell you watching young autistic relatives exist and interact w kids their age who are so much better#about including 'different' peers socially then when I was a kid? that is so fucking surreal#I am very much an 'autistic Artemis truther' and I know Fox has some posts about Tim being autistic too during an era of the Fowls where it#wouldn't have even been 'masking' to borrow a contemporary term so much as just learning Not to Act Fucking Weird ever and performing this#whenever there is someone else present#but to return to the point of this post Artemis and Angeline will see a 5-star resort with insane security and go 'what I'm hearing is that#when the sun sets we will be in the Purge'#Artemis' form of paranoia is fascinating because he experiences it in the 'struggles trusting people and can spiral and believe people are#out to get him and harm him when that is not realistically assessing a situation' but also has horrible risk assessment which is so realist#realistic lmao

Things that went through my mind while watching this episode:
--Sawashiro Miyuki, my gosh, one of my favorite vocal performances in this whole series. That sinister way she taunts Tanjiro, and how well it fits that haughty pose when she's perching in the window (erm, new window). It's one of those moments that makes me lose my mind. I'm going to be in so much pain when I hear her final crying scene in the surround sound of a movie theater.
--Speaking of favorites, this encounter she and Tanjiro have in the air is one of my favorite Water Breath sequences, because animation-wise, it's masterful. Every action has sense and flow, for being airborne the gravity has fantasy realism, the shifting of angles is impressive but fluid enough not to be distracting, you can see Daki & Tanjiro both adjusting to each other's actions, and there's a serenity to both of them. Daki is toying with a mouse, but Tanjiro has come so far in his battle experience since, say, his airborne fight with Yahaba, and it shows. He doesn't display confidence, per-say, but realistic understanding and use of his abilities. It's just such a beautiful sequence.
--Timing and delivery-wise, that moment when Koinatsu's like, "oh, yeah, I mean, I knew you were a boy. …duh" and Tanjiro is more surprised by this than anything else in this whole episode. He and Koinatsu really did have a sweet relationship very unlike anything else in the series, it's like if Tanjiro had grown up having a young aunt he was close to. It's mutually tender in spite of an understanding of an enormous gulf between them in the different worlds they're part of. And that smile when she tells him she doesn't want anything to happen to him, it's so nice when Tanjiro gets to enjoy that simple concern others have for him, absent of any expectations of his swordsmanship.
--Speaking of relations, OHHHH, THIS EPISODE GETS ME IN THE KAMABOKO FEELS. Like, it is legit hilarious that Tanjiro & Inosuke are told by a Pillar than he has assumed Zenitsu dead, and they're like, "…so anyway, look what our hands do" and then after I was thinking about that the other day I saw this fanart from @solqau which captures the humor of the situation perfectly. But like, it's striking how they both have THAT MUCH faith in Zenitsu to not be dead. At least in Tanjiro's case, he has known since the very first instant he smelled Zenitsu just how powerful he is, and in Inosuke's case, it may be that he assumes Zenitsu has found a way to run away, or he just doesn't even mentally engage with the idea of Zenitsu having been harmed. And then, constanting with Tanjiro absolute faith in Zenitsu being fine, this is the second time in the series when Tanjiro specifically tells Inosuke, "don't die." Inosuke, for being so brash and not always having an accurate assessment of his own abilities and the danger he's in, causes Tanjiro so much more worry. And Inosuke said he was going to say the same thing to Tanjiro--Inosuke has seen Tanjiro in peril, they went through the loss of Rengoku together, it just simply bothers Inosuke more than Tanjiro is mortal too.
--Setting those layers aside entirely, this scene of them just sitting around in kimono and makeup and chatting on the roof in the sunshine is so cute. Inosuke using body language to try to get Kentaro to understand the demon he's already found and Tantaro just not getting it! That animation of Inoko thwacking Sumiko belongs in the background of a Taiko drum arcade game, and another wallpaper I want for my computer is their chibis way at the bottom of the screen with a vast blue sky behind them. GENKI DASE!! thwack
--And then Uzui… the way he just shuts off the flamboyance valve when the sense of responsibility and recognition of a poor decision floods in. He really feels that much regret for Zenitsu's presumed death, and this is also the moment when he is accepting that, as Inosuke so plainly pointed out a couple days before, his wives are all probably dead. And, in true hardened ninja and Pillar style, he is grappling with that precisely as he is taking solo actions to put an end to the demon responsible.
--The muki-muki nezumiiiiiiiii!!!!! YAAASSSSS, I LOVE THEM!!!!!!! I got a plush I was very happy with at the Ufotable gallery, but I kind of wish I had gotten the t-shirt with the simple design of them, and Inosuke (with his head through the ceiling) on the back being impressed with them. I love that we got to see him and Uzui connecting over this excitement throughout the Taisho Secret, and that image of the muki muki mice standing against the moonlight like the Pillars are in the first opening is hilarious. MUKI!! MUKI, MUKI!!!
--Oh, this is so Inosuke to jump up and bash his head through the ceiling. His training is paying off!! Someday he truly may have a head as hard as Gonpachiro's!

I love JC being very miserable and yet I can't even ENJOY him looking so sad and sexy, which is actually the greatest crime of all
you are entitled to compensation! spoilers behind the readmore because i made it to a computer
The thing that annoys me the most is about the ending is Jiang Cheng being willing to prioritize his Wei Wuxian feelings over Jin Ling, for both standard Jin Ling loving reasons and because it undermines a thing about Jiang Cheng that leads him to some extremely shitty places but I love a lot about him as a character. He does not value his own honour over the lives and well-being of the people he's responsible for! This is not a thing that actually comes up very often, because his moral compass and sense of honour is heavily skewed towards protecting ymj/assorted dependants, so what generally happens is that he believes the right thing to do is to protect his sect and nephew and then he goes out and does that. Sometimes, however, he is also willing to cut his losses and do things he thinks are bad (fuck over wen qing) in pursuit of what he considers to be the higher good (protect yunmeng jiang), and that's part of what makes him so fun as a character for me. He believes both that you are responsible for the harm caused by acting on your good intentions and that you have a duty to be realistic about the likely outcomes of your behaviour. What I'm getting at is- why is Jiang Cheng going into seclusion? What is his motivation? Despair? He despairs constantly, that's just a Tuesday. A desire to seek clarity and healing though quiet inwards contemplation? Not really a thing for him. So I'm kind of left with shame, maybe, or the belief that because his core is not his own he doesn't really have the right to use it for his own purposes, but the thing is that even if Jiang Cheng believed the correct and honourable course of action would be for him to retreat into seclusion, he still would never, because Jin Ling is in a precarious political situation and needs his support! and has also lost a parent and doesn't need any more emotional upheaval but I can concede that it is slightly more plausible he'd be unable to articulate concept to himself. Basically, if he was inclined to go into seclusion out of a belief that he fucked up terribly in his assessment Wei Wuxian's character and regret about his subsequent behaviour, he'd have done it after that time he believed Wei Wuxian when he said he had the demonic cultivation under control and Wei Wuxian then lost control of his army of corpses in a way that ended in Yanli's death. This is actually so much better then the last time he had to dramatically reassess his entire worldview for Wei Wuxian reasons! There's an upside here! Jin Guangyao being evil and then dying is a huge improvement on Wei Wuxian being evil and then Yanli dying. And then Wei Wuxian also dying.

Downsides of Thievery Pt. 7
~ Previous Part ~ Next Part ~
It was evident to Rael that the man called Kaydin was warring with himself on what to do. Not only did he desperately want to make off with the human that could potentially make him wealthy beyond his wildest dreams, but he also seemed unwilling to back down from a challenge. He was no doubt prideful, something Rael could actually relate to. However, realistically Kaydin stood no chance of success. Without his partner as backup, he was unlikely to be able to even make it out of the woods.
Rael was banking on Kaydin being at least reasonable enough to know when he was beaten, because while Rael was fairly confident he outmatched the ruffian, he worried what a scuffle would mean for Gavin Stone. The human was so fragile, and if even non-violent movements from alteons could bring him harm, Rael could only imagine what could happen if he ended up in the middle of a fight.
As irritating as Gavin had been, and as much as Rael didn’t care for humans, he still didn’t want to see the tiny man injured. He was no sadist. Besides, the Emperor would likely be more than a little upset if he found out the human got damaged during transit. Gavin was a prisoner, but his punishment, whatever it may end up being, was to be decided upon and carried out by the order of the Emperor himself. Until such a time, Rael’s job was to keep the human safe and alive.
Kaydin narrowed his eyes. “What if I told you, you either let me leave or I kill the human?”
A flash of rage nearly made Rael reach for his dagger, but he just barely held himself back. This brigand, this scum, really had the audacity to threaten to kill Gavin? And how stupid was he? Killing Gavin would not only remove his leverage, but also the source of wealth he craved. “The only way I am letting you go, is if you return that human to me,” Rael informed Kaydin darkly.
So long as Kaydin used logic to make his decision, he would do exactly as Rael wanted. However, if he allowed pride and anger to rule him, Rael would be forced to take aggressive action. “A quick stab to the chest...and then I try to grab Gavin before he hits the ground,” he thought as he tried to plot out his plan of attack. It was far from ideal, but it was the best contingency plan Rael could come up with in the moment.
A long pause stretched out between the two alteons. Rael braced himself, ready to grab his dagger at any second. Kaydin wore a bitter scowl on his face, his hands gripping Gavin’s cage so tight it almost appeared as though he’d bend the iron bars. Finally, Kaydin spoke. “Fine, but just to make sure you don’t try to nab me…” In the blink of an eye, the dark haired thug tossed the cage up into the air.
Kaydin took off, but Rael didn’t see which direction he went, nor did he care. His focus was entirely centered on Gavin, who was trapped inside a cage that was quickly plummeting towards the hard ground.
What was only a few feet to Rael, was a deadly height to the human. If Rael didn’t catch the cage, Gavin would undoubtedly die on impact. The catch had to be precise, and it had to be as gentle as possible to prevent serious injury. Any failure on Rael's part could prove catastrophic to Gavin.
Reaching out both hands, Rael watched almost as if in slow motion as the cage fell right into the perfect position. With all the deftness years of swordplay and archery practice afforded him, he closed his right hand around the side of the iron enclosure while his left hand grabbed it from below. As soon as the cage was within his grasp, Rael moved his hands downward a bit in order to soften the blow and prevent an abrupt stop that could be injurious to the human inside.
Carefully, Rael lifted Gavin towards his face. He peered inside at the crumpled form of the small man, trying to gauge his physical state. Immediately, he noted the fact that Gavin’s chest could be seen rising and falling as a result of fast paced panting. There was no blood, and from what Rael could see, no limbs twisted or bent in a manner they weren’t meant to be. All good signs, but he would have to ask Gavin himself to be certain.
-
Gavin liked roller coasters just fine, going up and down hills while in a little car? That was great, he’d do it over and over again. What Gavin did not like were those big drop tower rides they always had at amusement parks. He really didn’t get what was so fun about having your stomach thrown into your throat. Ever since he first rode the Power Tower at Cedar Point when he was twelve, he had sworn off those types of rides forever.
Well, you know what’s even worse than a drop tower? Falling down from an incredible height while trapped in a cage, with no seatbelt, and nothing to guarantee you wouldn’t collide violently with the ground below.
There hadn’t even been a chance for Gavin to fully contemplate the possibility of his own demise during his terrifying aerial trip. While he was flying through the air, his mind had gone completely blank--it was nothing but an abyss of blind fear.
And then the next thing he knew, a giant hand came into view. Everything came to a steady, but still plenty disorienting stop. Gavin fell into a heap on the floor of his cage, his whole body throbbing with a deep ache. “I officially hate this dimension,” he moaned internally.
For several long moments Gavin did nothing but lay there. He didn’t feel like moving even a little bit, nor did he want to address the giant he could feel staring in at him.
Despite the fact that he had been pretty peeved with the guy previously, Gavin wasn’t upset with Rael at the moment. He had just effectively saved his life by catching him. Plus, Gavin was too busy directing his anger at the asshole that had thrown him in the first place to have any leftover for Rael. That being said, Gavin just didn’t feel like he had the energy for a conversation with the alteon at the moment. Believe it or not, a near death experience kind of took it out of you.
There was a stretch of silence where Gavin just remained laying on the floor of the cage, and Rael looked in at him without saying a word. Sadly, the peace couldn’t go on forever, and for once, Gavin wasn’t the one to disrupt it. “How are you feeling?” came Rael’s voice in an uncharacteristically soft tone.
With a low sigh, Gavin forced himself into a sitting position. He raised his gaze to meet Rael’s, taking note of the intense look in those vibrant teal eyes. “Pretty shitty, but I don’t think anything’s broken,” Gavin replied, glancing down to assess himself for any injuries. Despite the fact that his whole body was radiating with a deep ache, it seemed as though Gavin would get away with nothing worse than some nasty bruises.
“Do you think you can walk?” Rael inquired seriously. If Gavin didn’t know any better, he might almost think the guy sounded genuinely concerned.
Looking down at his legs, Gavin noted that his lower half seemed to ache slightly less than the rest of his body. It seemed as though his arms and torso had taken a brunt of the damage. “Yeah, I think so. Wh--” Before he could finish his sentence one of Rael’s hands shifted to the front of the cage. Long fingers took hold of the latch on the cage, and a moment later the door had been swung open.
Gavin blinked in surprise at the open door and the upturned palm that was placed just in front of it. “What are you doing?” he asked, a note of suspicion in his voice.
“Staying in the cage during the remainder of our journey will exacerbate your pain,” Rael stated, and Gavin had to agree. Being constantly bumped by the movement of the alteon’s leg had been standable before, but now that he was peppered in developing bruises, Gavin expected the experience would be quite miserable. However, the idea of placing himself in Rael’s hands was even less appealing. His past experiences with the appendages had been less than pleasant.
“I think I’ll take my chances,” Gavin responded, eying the giant hand nervously as if it would attack him at any moment.
“Don’t be ridiculous.” Despite Rael’s impatient tone of voice, Gavin could have sworn he caught a hint of what almost looked like a regretful look in the alteon’s eyes. “I’ll be careful. I am not entirely heartless, contrary to what you might assume.”
While Rael had certainly left less than a wonderful impression on Gavin so far, he actually didn’t believe the giant man was evil. He was a jerk, obviously, but for whatever reason Gavin still chose to give him the benefit of the doubt. Even if Rael had only saved him for the sake of his job, Gavin found it difficult to think too negatively about someone who had just prevented him from falling into an early grave.
So, if Gavin was going to give Rael a second chance (or maybe it was a third chance at this point), then he’d have to make himself willingly walk out onto the alteon’s waiting palm. “Just gotta think of it as a nice comfy mattress that can’t, and definitely won’t, wrap around me and crush me.”
Using the bars of his cage as support, Gavin slowly pulled himself up to his feet. His legs still felt a little bit like jelly after the near-death experience, so he waited a moment to gather himself before taking his first step forward.
-
The last time Rael had held Gavin, it had been when he snatched him up into a fist. This time however, Gavin was walking on of his own accord. The sensation of miniature feet stepping onto his palm sent a shiver across his skin. It honestly tickled a little bit, but of course, Rael would never allow himself to outwardly show a reaction. So instead, he just watched with wide eyes as the little man anxiously situated himself.
At first, Gavin seemed to have no idea what to do once he was on Rael’s hand. He appeared to be on edge, and tensed up anytime one of Rael’s fingers twitched involuntarily--which was probably to be expected considering...past events. Finally, the human just plopped down in the center of the palm, sitting with his legs crossed and his hands fiddling nervously in his lap.
It was still so surreal for Rael, holding an entire person in his hand. The slightest movement on his part could have a huge effect on the human, especially considering it was an injured human. Gavin may not have any serious wounds, but he was still obviously in pain. After the treatment he’d been subjected to by Kaydin, it was no surprise. Therefore, Rael's previous attitude of uncaring indifference in regards to the human’s comfort, would have to be...adjusted.
While keeping the hand holding Gavin as still as possible, Rael used his other hand to re-attach the now empty cage to his belt. Once that was done, he turned his focus to the tiny person sitting on his palm. “I’m going to move my hand, so brace yourself,” he warned Gavin, who offered a weak nod in response.
With slow and careful movements, Rael shifted the hand holding Gavin so that it was held up against his chest. The benefit of this position was that his chest created a living wall on one side of the human. His freehand would serve as a second barrier on the opposite side of the hand on which Gavin resided. The goal was to limit the amount of places the small man could potentially fall off of, as well as keep him hidden from view in case of any more run-ins with other alteons.
“I kinda feel like you’re babying me here,” Gavin called up, tilting his neck back to meet Rael’s gaze.
Suddenly painfully aware of the fact that he was practically cradling a human, Rael felt his face begin to heat up. How the hell had it come to this? He didn’t like humans--he didn’t necessarily despise them, but he certainly never before would have imagined himself holding one in such a gentle manner. Rael groaned internally. “This assignment is beginning to mess with my head.”

Note
Greetings, I am a 75 year old grandma. I am writing because my grandson who is in his 20s won't work. I have been involved in mbti for many decades. I'm an ENFJ. My grandson is still living at home well into his 20s. When I tell him to get a job (over many years) he just tells me to cut him off and that he will be fine without a smartphone and sweet foods. He is very bright. Graduated with a 3.7 from University. He tried various interests, but nothing sticks. Do I kick him out? Its not my nature
[con’t: The actions I've taken to help my grandson is to show him various resources like holland code, personality theory, etc. so that he can find some direction of where to commit. Instead he just takes the holland code over and over again, and happily shows me that his interests vary everytime he takes it. Same with personality theory. He goes on your blog all the time to prove that he doesn't fit anywhere. Based off of that statement he sounds like IxFJ. My grandson resembles Ti loop (IFxJ), but he does not resemble any other aspect of being an FJ. He is relatively well decisive when it comes to everything in his life. The only issue is getting a job, getting on a path, but he rejects this. If he at least helped around the house it would be something, but he can be quite selfish and uncaring, yet at other times very caring. It vacillates. Anyway, please help if possible, I am perplexed.]
WRT His Type:
I can’t draw a conclusion about his type without a full type assessment. Everything you’ve described is quite consistent with INFJ and Ni-Ti loop. It seems that you don’t understand tertiary loop very well. Ti loop is an unconscious repudiation of feeling, responsibility, and eventually, conscience. It amounts to a refusal to be the things that make FJs good and admirable people. Basically, the more severe the case of Ti loop, the more arrogant, narcissistic, and callous the INFJ becomes.
If the INFJ is only at the stage of trying to suppress the vulnerability of feeling life, there is still a fair chance for them to turn their life around by developing better emotional intelligence to address the emotional immaturity. If the INFJ has reached the point of refusing personal responsibility, they will be preoccupied/obsessed with finding any excuse, and even creating enemies, to blame for the poor state of their life. At this point, they are impervious to facts and don’t respond well to advice. If the INFJ loses all self-awareness and manages to convince themselves that they are “special” and not subject to conventional rules and ethical boundaries, then the time for you to distance from them is nearing, as chronic Se grip will set in and produce reactive, aggressive, or extreme behavior.
To get out of Ti loop requires genuine humility and reconnection with feeling life. The INFJ must take full responsibility for their decisions, correct the big mistakes that they have made in life, and atone for all the harm that they have caused. He does not seem to be capable of this at the moment. I explain Ti loop not to be an alarmist, but to give you a realistic view of how destructive tertiary loop can be, what rock bottom looks like for INFJs, and the signs to be wary of. If the relationship with him ever reaches a point where his mindset becomes toxic and harmful to you, it is important that you move to protect yourself.
WRT His Problem:
Getting someone in the right frame of mind to make a change and tackle a big problem is very tricky business because you don’t want to try and fail too many times. If you’re correct about Ti loop, then the more times you try to help and fail, the more likely he is to retreat further into himself (and delusion). To avoid applying the wrong solution, it’s best to do some “intelligence gathering” first so that you understand the problem properly before proceeding.
Neither of you has gotten to the bottom of his “block”, i.e., the actual obstacle that is getting in the way of his advancement. You can’t solve a problem if you can’t identify the cause(s) of it. The cause can be internal, external, or a combination of factors. Getting him into aptitude/personality studies seems like a logical approach to the problem. However, this assumes that the underlying cause of the problem is that he doesn’t really know himself - is it, though? It’s not clear to me, from what you’ve said, that this is the root of the problem. There isn’t enough info for me to draw any conclusion and I don’t wish to speculate wildly about what his problem might be. He seems to have some deeper psychological issues going on. And this lack of knowledge about his motivations is probably the reason that you’re both having difficulty pinpointing his type.
Therefore, the first order of business is to examine the problem in depth to figure out what the true cause of it is. Is the nature of the employment problem practical, psychological, educational, social, etc? Once you have an accurate grasp of the problem, then think on the right solution to it, or get help from someone with the expertise to determine the right solution. Note that if he is already at the point of avoiding responsibility and making excuses to manipulate reality, he himself will be blind to the real problem.
WRT Your Decision:
The last point I want to make is about you and your feelings. It sounds like he is suffering from some form of arrested development because he still has the mentality of a child. Academic GPA means nothing without emotional maturity and life skills. His behavior indicates that he depends on you but is also spoiled in taking your support for granted. This means that the more you try to support/help him, the more you may be enabling his unhealthy behavior and preventing him from becoming truly independent.
It is in his best interests to learn how to be a responsible adult because he will not always have someone to lean on in life (especially since Ti loop is very destructive to relationships). This should happen sooner rather than later, because the longer someone stays stuck in a rut, the harder it is to change, as inertia deepens. This is especially true in terms of employment because doors close and opportunities gradually dry up the older one gets. For the sake of his continued personal growth, he has to learn how to face up to his life’s problems and resolve them. But it sounds like he’s not willing to do that without being compelled to. He explicitly said to cut him off, which is basically like telling mama bird that he’s not going to jump off the tree and fly until he gets pushed off. Push him. Yes, he could have some psychological issue going on, but he’s also using your support to avoid facing up to it. If this is true, then you need to step BACK and allow him to step up for himself.
Should you kick him out? I understand that, from your perspective, this path would be the last resort, because it would violate your moral sensibilities and perhaps damage the relationship. But the fact that you’re at the point of considering it means that you’ve been dealing with this situation for far too long without making any progress. Please take some time to address how much this situation stresses YOU. Otherwise, your feelings may eventually boil over and possess you to do something you regret.
The fairest approach to this situation is to treat him like you would treat anyone else. In other words, stop giving him preferential treatment, especially if he doesn’t appreciate it and thus doesn’t deserve it. (Preferential treatment is reserved for people who are putting in their best effort but still falling short due to factors beyond their control.) If he wants to live under someone else’s roof, he has to contribute his fair share, as any adult would be expected to do (rent, bills, food, etc). If he wants to use/share your space, he has to help with cleaning and maintenance so that the workload is fairly distributed, as any adult would be expected to do. If he wants to have a relationship with you, then he has to reciprocate to make the friendship equal, as any adult would be expected to do. If it were anyone else, you would draw lines and boundaries about what kinds of behavior you would tolerate, wouldn’t you? I hope you would. If you're a doormat, it makes your relationship dynamic with him codependent and even more unhealthy.
**A healthy relationship must have boundaries. Personal boundaries must be respected to justify continued investment in the relationship. If someone doesn’t respect your needs and boundaries, they don’t respect you, and they’re proving themselves unworthy of your continued effort. Until someone proves that they are worthy of your trust and support, it is best to maintain emotional distance from them, for your own safety and psychological well-being.**
It’s time for you to step up for yourself and how you feel. Make your needs and desires matter just as much as his, which means drawing the lines, setting the boundaries, and enforcing the rules that you need for honoring your existence. Yes, it would be nice if everyone just knew how to respect each other, but that’s not the case. If a relationship is hurting you, then it’s necessary to practice proper self-care and correct what is wrong. It’s not about being controlling but about respecting you and what is yours. If he can’t abide by your rules and boundaries, he is an adult and free to set his own rules elsewhere. Don’t forget that if you let him walk all over you, you’re implicitly confirming to him that exploitation is normal and acceptable relationship behavior.
1) Devaluing your needs is a disservice to yourself and puts you in the backseat of this relationship to be hurt and exploited, and 2) devaluing your needs is a disservice to him, because taking advantage of your generosity allows him to continue on with unhealthy behavior. I’ve given a few possibilities above and it’s up to you to take the path that you think is best for both parties.

Match-Up #9
Tumblr media
On it!
Though I must say that as much as “up to” implies voluntary character to some parts of the form, it may influence the results. How? Well, we shall see!
Tumblr media
I presume being adept at solving problems could be seen as a desirable quality by some of the more intellectual suitors and those who are rulers themselves.
Nobunaga (+) Masamune(+) Shingen (+) Ieyasu(+) Sasuke (+) Mitsuhide (+) Mitsunari(+)
As for determination, it could speak of conviction, but also of ambition. Those, however, are tied rather directly with some suitors, some of which even insist one needs to have this drive in order to live in the first place.
Masamune (+) Mitsuhide (+) Nobunaga (+) Ieyasu(+) Yukimura (+)
Lastly, both being observant, calm when in stressful situations and rational are qualities that... Would go in hand well with ruling. I presume they could imply a high drive for independence as well, but it’s just an assumption.
Nobunaga (+) Masamune (+) Shingen (+) Ieyasu (+) Yukimura (+) Mitsuhide (+) Sasuke (+) Kenshin(+)
Tumblr media
Well, firstly, given the tendency to being suspicious and aloof, I would probably avoid suitors who struggle with emotional intimacy themselves or are involved in some rather shady practices.
Kenshin (-) Nobunaga (-) Masamune (-) Mitsuhide (-) Shingen (-) Sasuke (-)
As for cynicism, I presume some suitors could handle it better than others (in particular, than those who tend to be rather idealistic or self-sacrificing in a way).
Ieyasu (+) Mitsunari (+) <- it would fly over his head Masamune (-) Yukimura (-) Mitsuhide (-) Hideyoshi (-)
In regards to distancing yourself from others and being rather laconic... I presume that suitors with lively enough personality to pull people into action could help with that to some extent (or would at least somewhat mitigate it; although I presume those could be wingmen too, making it possible for any sort of relationship to start).
Masamune (+) Nobunaga (+) Hideyoshi (+) Shingen (+)
1st Summary:
Ieyasu ( + + + + ) Nobunaga ( + + + ) Masamune ( + + ) Shingen ( + + ) Mitsunari ( + + ) Sasuke & Mitsuhide & Yukimura ( + )
Given that no data on likes and dislikes was submitted in those categories, wild-cards shall be considered before deal-breakers.
Tumblr media
My, my, that’s quite an unfortunate allergy to deal with. I presume suitors who aren’t too outdoorsy could be appreciated.
Yukimura (-) Masamune (-) Nobunaga (-) Kenshin (+)  <- he wouldn’t question anybody staying indoors all the time, much less his lover Mitsunari (+) Hideyoshi (+) <- he would most probably be mindful of it Ieyasu (+)
As for dislike for cats and the second wildcard overall...
Mitsunari (-) Nobunaga (+) Yukimura (+) <- a wolf is almost a dog, isn’t it? Mitsuhide (+) <- almost a snake
2nd Summary:
Ieyasu ( + + + + +) Nobunaga ( + + + ) Shingen ( + + ) Mitsunari ( + + ) Mitsuhide ( + + ) Sasuke & Masamune & Kenshin & Hideyoshi & Yukimura ( + )
Tumblr media
Hideyoshi (+) <- overly protective Kenshin (+) <- overly protective Masamune (+) <- “touchy-feely”, I presume
I presume that both Sasuke, Yukimura and Mitsuhide could fall into condescending category, which perhaps doesn’t do as much as align with the last deal-breaker, but seems to be somewhat close to it.
Sasuke (-) Yukimura (-) Mitsuhide (-)
Going by similar logic, I think Nobunaga needs to be reminded not to touch his partner without their consent at times.
Nobunaga (-)
Most Disliked characters:
Yukimura & Shakespeare
I will not share the screenshot here. As much as it’s personal opinion, I think it borders character hate and hence, refuse to give it a platform.
Final Ranking:
Ieyasu ( + + + + +) Nobunaga & Shingen & Mitsunari ( + + ) Mitsuhide ( + )
Ieyasu:
Plenty may wonder how the two of you came together - that is, until they hear the joyous teasing following the two of you around, Azuchi castle still seemingly beaming wherever both of you went... At least at first, that is, your dearest friends finally getting bored of the topic. Perhaps, in the far future, they will still boast about pushing you together - that, however, is yet to be found out.
Ieyasu is a man of few words, although unfortunately so, it doesn’t mean that anything he says can be taken at face value. Given his contrarian nature and overall rather realistic outlook on life, he could probably sympathize with cynicism to a certain extent, cutting it short whenever it started turning overbearing. He values rationality and cold assessment of a situation, seeing strength where others would ignore it because of arbitrary biases. He’s level-headed enough to deal with anxiety - and although he may be unable to disprove all of the suspicions, he’ll do his upmost to put your mind at ease. Moreover, it’s more than certain he’ll understand your allergy and will try to accommodate for it. As for you... At times, Ieyasu needs to be grounded in reality and reminded of his own worth - preferably with dry facts. With your observations skills, you may be one of few people capable of understanding him fully and giving him support he so desires, but is unable to ask for.
Possible issues may arise due to ineffective communication. He could struggle with expressing his worry, although it’s certainly something he’d try to work on. Free time ideas: reading together, browsing through the archives, possibly doing some research work (regarding medicine, although he’d probably be curious enough to listen to just about anything), throwing snarky comments at other warlords
Mitsuhide:
It was an unlikely scenario, yet it happened, nobody else but (in)famous silver kitsune extending his hand towards you. At first you were wary, his entire persona agitating your mind and encouraging it to spin webs of suspicions - yet, upon closer inspection, you realised how to find truth in all the lies he tells... Although perhaps it was rather simple. After all, there was one constant among all the variables: whatever it would take, he’d do it, as long as it would keep the both of you safe. He never meant any harm to begin with.
That being said, Mitsuhide will have plenty leaning to do. He isn’t exactly used to depending on others - even though he values your intellect, at times he seems to tap back into his old habits and opt to shoulder all the burdens himself. However, he’ll still seek your opinion on matters of upmost importance, never daring to overlook it. Words with him are almost entirely redundant, he will understand... However, if anxiety and cynicism were to ever overwhelm you, he’ll talk to your rational side and help you get back in control.
Possible issues may regard his line of work and its secrecy.  Free time ideas: browsing though his costumes and books, reading, teaching each other about your respective specialties, discussions (either on more touchable or ethical matters)

A Biden presidency would be worse for the long-term goals of progressives in the United States than a second term for Trump would be.
So now that I’ve gotten your attention with a title like that, I should explain what I mean.
There are some posts going around progressive Tumblr that I’ve seen that amount to “hey, Biden isn’t all that bad, you should vote for him,” and I want to offer a counterargument.
The short answer: conservative Democrats hate you, and if Biden wins, they will never listen to a single thing that progressives and socialists have to say ever again.
The long answer: did everyone just forget that politicians lie to score brownie points, and fail to live up to their promises? This is a thing that politicians are infamous for doing. But now that Joe Biden has very suddenly released a list of progressive platforms that he “”“intends”““ to realize while in office, everyone has forgotten that.
Let’s be frank about Joe Biden’s record. He supported segregation way past the point of it being a dominant position. He was good friends with arch-segregationist Strom Thurmond, to the point of delivering the eulogy at Strom’s funeral.
Joe Biden acted as the architect for the modern war on drugs in many ways, including the use of harsh prison sentences for tiny amounts of drugs, both of which are currently being used to terrorize black and brown communities and uphold what is essentially a system of legalized slavery.
Joe Biden acted as a bag man for the banking industry during his time as senator for Delaware, consistently killing any legislation that might prevent banks to avoid taxes by basing themselves in Delaware.
Joe Biden supported the war in Iraq. This alone should be disqualifying.
Given his record, his sudden adoption of progressive policies should be interpreted as being a little suspicious. He is representative of the conservative wing of the Democratic Party, which has done little to oppose the worst excesses of modern capitalism, and has, in fact, done a great deal to exacerbate those failures. But now, there’s a more progressive wing; a wing that the conservative wing has routinely expressed their opposition towards, from Nancy Pelosi dismissing the Squad to Hillary Clinton’s assertion that Bernie Sanders never got anything done.
Do you really think that these people are suddenly going to adopt all those progressive policies, just as it looks like their guy is winning the race?
If you answered “yes” to that previous question, I think I have a bridge to sell you.
The Democratic Party believes it does not need to go left, because in their minds, there is nowhere else for progressives to go. American politics are expressly designed to make third parties an impossibility, so if progressives have nowhere else to go, then they don’t actually need to cater to those progressives in any way other than lip service. That’s what these promises amount to: lip service. I promise you, the second a Biden presidency takes power, all of those promises will go out the window. What’s more, progressive political forces will be ignored. After all, there’s nowhere else for them to go, so in the minds of the conservative Democrats, they cannot represent a meaningful threat to the Democratic party.
Of course, they’ll posture towards progressivism. But they’ll do so without actually making it happen, which will poison the politics around it. I believe that Justin Trudeau has done more harm to left-wing politics in Canada than any conservative politician, because his posturing towards progressive positions angers and energizes the right, but his politics fail to achieve left-wing goals.
And that’s the other side of why a Biden presidency would do so much damage. The right is going to think you’re a communist no matter what you actually do; think of what they did to Barack Obama, another man who ran as a progressive but governed as a conservative. It would energize the American right, it would sap the power of the American left, all the while the centrists prevent any meaningful change and the situation in the US just gets worse and worse.
And that’s the brutal reality. Neither Trump nor Biden will make the situation better. Both will make the situation worse in their own special ways. There’s no chance in hell that the Democratic party would actually make an effort to prevent the caging of children at the border, or the Gestapo-like behaviour of ICE; they’ve had four years to do that, and they’ve done nothing aside from complain about it, even when they’ve held Congress.
The fact is, the current Democratic party knows that progressive ideas are popular. But they have no intention of actually realizing those ideas, or fighting for any position, really. They maintain power through fear, by telling voters again and again that to expect anything better is a sure road to defeat, that the only way to win is to pick the most milquetoast, conservative candidate possible. They hate us progressives far more than they hate the Republicans; they can take the moral high ground over the Republicans, but we can take the moral high ground over them. Therefore, they will never change, unless forced to.
So, what’s my conclusion?
Just don’t vote.
I can already hear people calling me a privileged brocialist for suggesting that anything is more important than beating Trump, probably some people who are going to say that I don’t actually care about people and just want my team to win. To those people I say: I do care about people. That’s why I’m making this argument. A Trump win and a Joe Biden win hurt the American people in their own ways, and while a Biden presidency might help a bit in the short term, the long-term consequences will be disastrous.
I don’t want to be right. It would be fantastic if Joe Biden starting putting out progressive policies all over the place, and started listening to the progressive wing of the party. But I don’t think that’s a realistic assessment of the situation. Everything I’ve seen leads me to a different conclusion: Joe Biden will not help us.
So that’s why I say to not vote.
Because there’s a possibility that if the Democratic party loses here, they might actually start to consider that they actually need to move left in order to remain relevant. They will curse and spit every second of doing so, but it might convince them that serving progressive interests is necessary, that they can’t just rely on progressives caving to pressure and voting no matter what. It might force them to come to the table.
For my evidence, I turn again to Canada, and to the province of Quebec. People often wonder why Quebec gets so much attention in Canadian politics. It’s a large province, sure, but the sway it has on federal politics vastly outweighs its size. Some have suggested political correctness overrepresenting French Canadians, others have suggested political tradition, given how long Quebec has been a part of Canada.
I suggest that it’s because Quebec turns on a dime, politically speaking.
Basically every federal election in Canada of the past few decades has seen Quebec switch almost entirely from one party to another, sometimes inexplicably. The fact is, no party can call Quebec safe territory, and if the Quebecois feel like their needs are not being met, they tend to go for an entirely different party. Party loyalty isn’t really a thing in Quebec. So when election season comes around, every party is clamouring for Quebec’s attention, and after the election, they put in a lot of effort to make sure that the Quebecois like them. This means actually following through with their election promises.
The same is true for swing states in America. If you want politicians to meet your needs, then you need to make it clear that you might vote for them, but only if they’re serving your needs.
It’s gonna hurt like a sonofabitch, it’s true. But if you want progressive policies to have any hope of reaching the halls of power, it is your obligation to not vote in the American election in November, to demonstrate to the conservative wing of the Democratic party that victory is only possible by giving progressives a seat at the table. That can only be done by showing them what happens when they don’t have it.
Also, don’t vote for Trump to spite the Dems. That’s actually moronic. Just don’t vote.

Sick Like Me (Michael Langdon x fem!reader): Chapter 2
Summary: You meet a man claiming to be the Antichrist through your aunt's Satanic church. Will he lead you into darkness, or will you lure him into the light? Either way, he makes it very difficult for you to keep your composure...
Pairings: Michael Langdon x You
Words: 2,400
Warnings: A bit of romancing in this one, but that’s it. There will be eventual smut (lots), dubious consent, religious imagery, gore, and more as we go along.
Previous Chapters: 1
Tumblr media
Your mind was reeling. A random homeless man that your crazy aunt had invited into her home had basically just declared himself as the Antichrist without even a hint of humor in his voice. He didn’t seem proud, or scared, or confident at all. He just seemed… lost. “How dare you blaspheme!” Madelyn bellowed, causing you to nearly jump out of your skin at the unexpected reaction.
Before you could properly assess the situation, she had a large knife to Michael’s throat, already drawing blood at the pressure of the blade against his skin. “Aunt Madelyn!” you shouted, stumbling out of your chair. “What the fuck are you doing?!” Michael remained eerily calm and collected as he addressed Madelyn in a firm tone. “Before you kill me, dear believer… see me.” It was then your aunt’s eyes flickered to a spot behind his ear close to his hairline. She faltered for a moment before hastily removing the knife and staggering away from him. Her expression was in complete disbelief and awe as she fell to her knees beside him. “Hail Satan!” Michael gave you an awkward glance, as if he was slightly embarrassed by Madelyn’s reaction, but also challenging you to argue.
“He has the mark of the beast!” Madelyn wailed, bowing continuously.
“Excuse me?” you retorted, still not comprehending how the situation could have taken such a strange turn. “What are you talking about?”
Michael rose to his feet, causing you to instinctively step back to keep as much space as possible between the two of you. He paused for a moment, tilting his head and raising his hands defensively to show you that he meant no harm. Still hesitant, you allowed him to come closer as he raised his arm to pull his hair to the side and show you the mark.
When you inspected it closer, it initially looked like a brand that had been botched. It wasn’t until you focused that you could see the number 666 grouped together messily on his skin. Raising your eyebrows, you fought the urge to laugh at how gullible your aunt was. “Oh… wow,” you commented, feigning fascination. “That’s… interesting.”
He furrowed his brow, clearly bothered  by your underwhelmed reaction. “You don’t believe me.”
It was clear that you and your aunt had made a grave mistake by allowing this man into her home. He was obviously delusional and you needed to separate yourself from him as quickly as possible. “I think you should leave,” you insisted, trying to keep your voice even so as not to upset him even more.
“No!” Madelyn argued, raising from her crouched position. “He’s my guest! We will reveal him to the congregation tomorrow!” “Aunt Madelyn, I don’t think-”
“Hush,” she interrupted, gripping Michael’s arm and escorting him past you. “Come, Michael, you need to rest. Let me show you to the guest bedroom. It is my honor to host you.”
“You’ve got to be kidding,” you muttered angrily. “This is not a good idea!”
“You can leave whenever you want, dear,” she insisted over her shoulder as you followed her down the hall.
“And leave you here with a stranger? I don’t think so.”
“Oh, but he’s not a stranger,” she countered as she stopped to gaze at him in awe, grinning widely with tears in her eyes. “He’s here to save us.”
Ignoring your blatant scoff, she led Michael into the guest bedroom, which had a full-sized bed, a dresser, and a desk. It wasn’t much, but it was charmingly plain. You had spent many nights here in your youth, always having had a close relationship with your aunt.
After taking a moment to inspect the room and ultimately deciding that it would suffice, he turned to address you. “Where will you be sleeping?”
“Uh… I…” you stammered, caught off guard. Why should that matter to him?
“She has her own apartment across town,” Madelyn answered on your behalf. “But if she wants to stay, she can have the couch.”
He stepped aside, gesturing towards the bed. “Would you rather take the bedroom?” Narrowing your eyes at him, you brushed him off quickly. “No. I’ll take the couch. I won’t be sleeping much anyway,” you warned, hoping he would get the hint that you had every intention of watching his every move.
He grinned, amused by your blatant suspicion. “Very well.” “Get some rest, Michael! The bathroom is down the hall and the left. Everything you need is in there. Please, help yourself to anything you desire.” Madelyn wasn’t usually one to play host, but you supposed that for the Antichrist impersonator, she had made an exception.
Once the door was closed, you immediately opened your mouth to argue with her, to which she lifted her hand in dismissal. “I don’t want to hear another word. This is my house. If you don’t like it, go home.”
Despite her harsh words, she leaned in and gave you a loving kiss on the forehead. “Goodnight, kiddo.”
“Yeah, sure. Whatever,” you mumbled in return. After locating scattered pillows and blankets around the house, you created a make-shift bedding on the floral-print sofa in your aunt’s living room. Making yourself comfortable, you watched the entryway to the hallway like a hawk, preparing yourself for any kind of foul-play from the deranged stranger.
Alone with your thoughts, you cursed yourself for allowing this to happen. You were just trying to be nice to the guy. What harm could offering some water and stale donuts to a homeless man do, especially someone who seemed so defeated? It wasn’t in your nature to be cruel or neglectful of the needs of others, but now because of you, the two of you were at risk of getting slaughtered in your sleep.
Eventually, despite your best efforts, you drifted off, lost in a dreamless sleep until something woke you. Your eyes fluttered open, your body aching from being in the same position for too long, urging you to turn over. Groaning, you flipped around, not expecting to be met with a pair of intense blue eyes. Instinctually gasping to release a shriek, Michael’s hand moved quickly to cover your mouth, muffling the sounds of your screams. He placed a finger to his lips, shushing you as you scrambled back, trying to distance yourself from him, which didn’t really do anything since you were trapped between him and the back of the couch. You then noticed that he was kneeling on the floor next to the couch. Had he been watching you sleep?! What kind of fucked up Twilight shit was going on?! Finally, he removed his hands, lifting them defensively. “I didn’t mean to scare you,” he whispered urgently. “I’m sorry.” Your heart was hammering against your chest as you fought to catch your breath, shaking from the unexpected intrusion. Struggling to find words, you just stared at him, waiting for him to explain further.
His expression was guilty, as if he truly felt badly for scaring you. “I’m really sorry,” he repeated, scooting back on the floor just a bit to give you some room. “I thought that you would be awake.”
Finally finding your voice, you hissed, “What the hell are you doing out here?”
Shrugging his shoulders, he replied casually, “Couldn’t sleep.” “So you decided to watch me instead?” you snapped, flipping the blankets off of you while you sat up. “No…” he began awkwardly. “I was just… I was hoping for some company. I see that I’ve upset you. I’ll go back to the room.” As he got up and turned to leave, you sighed heavily, knowing you weren’t going to fall back asleep after having that slight heart attack. “Wait,” you called after him. He halted, facing you once again with a somewhat hopeful gleam in his eye. “I’m gonna make some tea. Do you want some?” you offered. The corners of his mouth turned up into a slight grin. “I’d like that very much.” Before you got up, you took a moment to inspect him, now able to fully comprehend his appearance after your episode. He had showered at some point, all of the grime and dirt now gone, revealing his cherub-like face. His hair fell gracefully in golden waves; messy, and yet somehow appearing styled. His filthy clothes were replaced with a form-fitting dark gray t-shirt and black pajama pants.
As if he could read your thoughts, he replied to your unspoken question. “I found them in a drawer. I hope Madelyn doesn’t mind.” Nodding your head, you remembered your aunt had her fair share of suitors over the years who had left items here and there, establishing an array of items for Michael to choose from. As far as you knew, they were up for grabs. Rubbing your eyes, you got up from the couch, waving your hand at him to follow you into the kitchen. After grabbing the kettle, filling it with water and placing it on the stove, you leaned against the counter, facing Michael. “So,” you began tiredly. “The Antichrist, huh?” His eyes locked onto yours as his expression remained indifferent, slowly placing his hands behind his back as he adjusted his posture. “Does that frighten you?” “It might,” you answered, shrugging your shoulders. “If it were true.” “So quick to dismiss the possibility,” he commented, furrowing his brow as he inspected you. “Are you always so skeptical and pessimistic?” You chuckled quietly, entertained by his commitment to the part he was playing. “I’m a realist, and from what I can tell, you’re an opportunist.” “How so?” he asked, taking a step forward, still gazing at your curiously.
“It’s smart, really,” you praised facetiously. “Making yourself seem sad, lost, and alone, positioning yourself right down the block from a Satanic church? You must have seen me coming from a mile away, and I was gullible enough to fall for it.”
His jaw tightened while he clenched his teeth, fracturing his composed expression. You were getting under his skin, and it was obviously affecting him.
Suddenly, the fire from the stove erupted, nearly singeing off your hair - and it would have, had you not moved so quickly. Cautiously, you went to investigate, until it seemed like the temperature in the room dropped 20 degrees in an instant.
Shivering, you wrapped your arms around yourself, turning to face Michael to see if he had felt the change or if you were going crazy. A gasp escaped you when you saw his once blue eyes, turn white and vacant as he lifted his arms into the air, like he was summoning something.
“Michael?” you asked, now partially convinced that you were not yet awake, and was instead having a nightmare.
He closed his eyes and rolled his shoulders, loosening his muscles before opening them again. The blue of his iris’ had returned as he smiled at you before turning to look up towards the ceiling. Following his example, you also glanced up, not at all prepared for what you saw.
Snow. Actual fucking snow was falling from the ceiling in your aunt’s kitchen. Your jaw literally dropped at the sight as you reached your hand up to catch some in the air, bringing it back down to see it melt in the palm of your hand.
It was hauntingly beautiful, and you couldn’t fathom how this was occuring. You weren’t dreaming. This was really happening. Holy shit. Cue panic attack.
Your eyes must have been the size of baseballs as you turned back to Michael, lost for words as you took in his smug expression. “Nothing to say?” he mocked, enjoying every minute of this.
Swallowing thickly, it took you a moment to find your voice again. When you finally did, you choked out, “W-why are you here?”
He tilted his head again, his smirk widening as he approached you, causing you to back up into until you couldn’t anymore. Having no where else to go, you stood still as he reached you, placing his arms on either side of you as he pressed his palms against the wall. Still shivering, both from the cold and also from his freaky display of power, you only then noticed the heat emitting from his body, partly tempting you to curl into him for some relief against the chill in the air. Pressing his lips against your ear, he whispered, “Weren’t you listening today?” You shook your head slightly, indicating your confusion as to which part he was referring to. “I’m here to bring about the end times and lead you all into darkness.”
He pulled back then, gauging your reaction as your eyes flickered across his sharp features, not able to stop the next sentence that spilled from your mouth.
“Is that what you want?”
He faltered, knitting his brows as if the thought had never occurred to him. “What?”
“Um… ending the world. Bringing about darkness. Is that what you want to do?”
He sneered, pulling away from you then, letting his arms fall to his sides, allowing you to take a relaxed breath. “It’s what I’m supposed to do.” “That doesn’t answer my question.”
You had no idea where the ability to be so forward with him came from, but you couldn’t seem to stop. He was thoughtful for a moment, formulating his answer before he finally spoke. “No one has asked me that before. I’ve always been told that this was my purpose. I never had a choice.”
A wave of pity washed over you as you noticed the sadness in his eyes. “Michael, you always have a choice.”
His focus flickered from your eyes to your mouth, lingering there before meeting your eyes again. You didn’t miss the way his tongue darted out to wet his lips before he took his bottom lip in between his teeth, biting for a brief moment.
The next thing you knew, his warm, plush lips were on yours, devouring your mouth, and keeping true to his word by leading you into darkness.

The IELTS assessments are regarded as the maximum genuine
Best dependent and well-typical check of 'Proficiency in the English language.' In real existence situations, we've got visible greater than often that the 'Famous People' need to go through the agonies of being famous. In all walks of the life it is an widespread reality that 'Fame' follows 'infamy,' evidently, the 'Fame' of the IELTS isn't spared. As IELTS isn't the best test of it is kind, the warfare is usually directly to subdue it. A large segment of the humans international is constantly 'skeptic' - irrespective of their literacy, language or whatever. Therefore, a rational and analytical dialogue of the 'False Myths' that roam inside the air is needed to make human beings avoid being misguided.
What are the myths?
Qualifying through IELTS is subsequent to impossible: IELTS is off course difficult and it is supposed to be so, as it's miles the most popular take a look at for testing the 'Ultimate proficiency of a candidate within the English language.' Therefore to get an amazing 'Band Score,' candidates need to have a thorough preparation. But that does not support the myth at all. What do the information suggest? Every year approximately 2. masters in Data Analytics five million candidates seem for the test, from now not less than a hundred thirty five countries around the arena. A big bite of them comes from non-English talking nations as well. Percentage of the successful applicants are not negligible at all. So the parable is just a rumor and nothing extra.
It's not feasible for a non-native speaker to get a terrific Band Score: Again it does now not suit the information. Thousands of young aspirants from some of non-English speakme international locations, along with India, carry out extraordinarily well each year. A accurate range of candidates even get a excessive Band Score of 8/eight.five or 9 as well. So, no cause to even discuss the parable.
If a candidate seems from his domestic u . S . A . handiest then he would possibly score excessive: Usually, candidates sit down inside the take a look at from his domestic middle. However, now not each us of a has an IELTS Test center. Naturally, in such cases, candidates want to visit the nearest check center in a overseas neighboring u . S .. Not being able to sit down inside the test from his home center may make a handful of applicants feel frightened and unable to carry out well in the check. But the IELTS authority does now not have to do something approximately it and they may be truthful to all. Hundreds of sincere and eligible candidates are often visible come out with fulfillment even acting the test from a overseas middle. So the parable does now not keep excellent for the candidates who are mentally hard enough to ignore the issue.
The extra I write the better for my score: A very stupid fantasy. In every step of the assessments in which the applicants want to jot down answers, instructions associated with the 'Word Limit' are given without a doubt. Let's be little greater particular- When candidates are requested to answer a question-He would see a applicable practise like- 'Write in no extra than three words'. Again commands are given honestly within the case of Task1 of writing check - 'Write in at the least a hundred and fifty phrases' and in the case of Task2 of writing test - 'Write in at least 250 words'. Now if a candidate write in 'much less' words he would lose marks. But, it does no longer carry more marks and even might reason dropping marks, if a candidate crosses the word restriction via more than 50+ words, he might be penalized. Naturally, it is not an exaggeration to say that it's miles simply lack of literacy to agree with and unfold such myths.
If I am capable of make the examiner snicker I would get a great score inside the talking check: - Sorry it is not a circus and you are not a clown. If you appear within the speaking take a look at, dressed properly and with a nice smile for your face and wish the examiner saying 'Good Morning'/'Good Afternoon,' the examiner may sense pleased. But making him chuckle - does no longer it sound silly? The examiner's task is to check the candidate's knowledge in 'Spoken English' and he is meant to anticipate an eligible and extreme candidate, not a joker. Such 'Idiotic myths' aren't even really worth discussing.
If I need to go to the USA, I must sound like the American's in the talking take a look at: - This is an utter false impression. The native Americans have their personal mother tongue bias, imitating them would sound like creating a mimicry. A candidate is meant to talk in a clean, perfect and unbiased 'English' accent - He does not want to replicate any ordinary accent.
I have to always consider any opinion of the examiner: - Another wrong conception. During the take a look at, if a candidate is asked to specific his opinion on a topic, he need to no longer attempt to guess 'Which opinion could please the examiner.' Rather, he ought to express a justified opinion with assisting reasons. The perfection in constructing sentences, the accuracy in grammar and spelling and of direction the justification of the opinion expressed, associated with the subject would be judged and the candidate would receive marks accordingly.
If I exercise questions of previous tests it'd be sufficient: - Not exactly. A few questions from the previous assessments might repeat sometime, but it have to not be universal as a prevailing rule. Practicing using questions of previous assessments or pattern questions, would provide a candidate with realistic knowledge approximately the assessments and is good for him, however now not enough at all. If a candidate assessments questions of final 5 consecutive tests he would apprehend that the 'Myth' is simply another misconception and adhering to it could lead to a disastrous outcome.
It's easy to cheat inside the tests and get appropriate marks: - It is undoubtedly a totally harmful delusion and candidates should no longer pay heed to this. The IELTS tests are designed in one of these manner, that there may be no room for cheating. Anyone caught crimson handed at the same time as trying to cheat, would be brushed off and could not be allowed to hold the test further. Needless to discuss that, from any point of view cheating is against the law and it leads to nowhere. If any candidate nourishes a choice in his mind that he could clean the test by cheating, he ought to higher try somewhere else.

My Opinion of Pewdiepie vs T-Series
Who hasn’t heard about it? The “battle for subscribers” to be the top subscribed channel on YouTube... it is a very popular subject. I’ve actually known about the subject because... I’ve occasionally spotted people in the comments section for many YouTube videos promoting either channel. And of course videos would occasionally appear in either the recommended or trending tabs related to those topics. So I had a relative idea that there was a battle going on for many months, but I never understood the context of the battle. Honestly, I hadn’t really paid any attention until like a month ago, and I did not want to get actively engaged in the highlights of the story until like 2-3 weeks ago. It wasn’t important to me back then. But it is now, that’s why I’m going to talk about what I’ve learned, and how my opinion has formed.
So before my awareness of the existence of the “battle”, I only knew the existence of Pewdiepie. I had originally subscribed to his channel back in 2014, mostly because I watched and liked his gaming collaborations with other YouTubers. I liked watching gaming videos with collabs, and after seeing his history of videos it made sense to watch him. As his channel transitioned to less gaming, I lost interest so I stopped subscribing to him. Not sure when that was, but it was probably around 2016... Probably. Idk. I don’t have a history book of every moment of my life, so I lack that information, but I know I unsubscribed. After that point, I almost never watched any video of his other than the occasional 2-3 in a year that would be very relevant to me. And I was aware that journalists were trying to frame him as a bad person, either being greedy or racist, based on who he was and the content on his channel... or occasionally based on what other people did.
So anyways, once the “battle” was being promoted, I didn’t initially notice it occurring. Sure, I might’ve seen comments on YouTube mentioning Pewdiepie vs. T-Series, but I kinda ignored them. Or rather, dismissed them. I didn’t really understand the meaning nor the context of the battle. And it wasn’t really that relevant to me. I also had absolutely no idea who or what T-Series was. To me, I just assumed it was another gaming channel. It’s kind of laughable that was what I thought it was. So... who is T-Series?
Obviously, Pewdiepie’s competition. Okay, bad joke aside, it turns out T-Series is actually an Indian music channel (not to be mistaken for Native American). In India, it’s known as a big music corporation. From my understanding of what I’ve read, India has been starting to transition to the online world, and the number of people with mobile phones has grown rapidly over the past several years. T-Series has been working with YouTube/Google, and so it isn’t surprising that its consistent rise in subscribers correlates with the amount of people in India being exposed to the online world. I do wonder if T-Series is just focused on being the top youtube channel that does music videos, or if it is interested in doing content that is more culturally globalized. Just as a side note, I know that it made a deal with Amazon back in 2016 to do some movie production, so I know that music isn’t its only service, but it is its primary service... at least as far as I’m aware.
Anyways, let’s get into the controversy. Yes, there is controversy, and there’s only a small amount because T-Series has not reached headlines over a span of years as Pewdiepie has. No surprise about that....
Anyways...
T-Series is a corporation whose goal must be to profit... because a business that cannot make money will lose money... and those who lose money will not survive. So it should not be surprising that I read an article from this past December about a story of T-Series trying to tax evade. In particular, Indian tax officials had come to T-Series because they were not paying taxes. After searching their documents, they learned that T-Series were storing their taxes in other places... like New Delhi... or the U.S..... Basically the purpose was to store them in another place like a tax haven. It was hard to understand the context of the article because I’m not certain on how tax havens work, but I think the article said that they had some employees have registered residences in other places, and used them as a place to store their money. I could be wrong in my understanding of the article that I read, but that’s besides the point. T-Series is acting just like any big, greedy corporation that I know of.
Of course, T-Series seems to have a shady background, but unfortunately the background of this information seems too.... empty... to bring up as relevant points, but I’ll mention it anyways. T-Series started up in the 1980s as a business selling pirated cassettes. Nice. Assuming this is true, that means that this corporation was making money off of the hard work that others created... Is my bias showing yet? Lmao.
Anyways, just putting in a side note that Pewdiepie’s recent video congratulating T-Series for passing him had mentioned that T-Series had sent him a cease and desist letter, basically accusing Pewdiepie of defaming T-Series. It’s a powerful initiative that corporations usually take to stop the actions of critics that have the power to give them negative press. I say powerful, because in the U.S. usually the next step would be some sort of litigation, or some lawful proceeding that would take place in some sort of court. A collaborator of Pewdiepie’s video had said (well I’m paraphrasing here) that the letter itself was just ridiculous, and the wording of the letter made them believe that T-Series doesn’t even know what defamation is. Of course, since at this time we don’t actually know what the letter actually says, there’s no way for us to determine if we can agree or disagree with their assessment.
There’s one more interesting piece of information regarding T-Series: they had removed Pakistani pop artists’ music from their channel. This was a reaction to the standoff of India and Pakistan... which are some military bombing skirmishes between the two countries which started in February. Due to this initiative by T-Series, the pop artists reacted by marching on their streets and telling people to unsubscribe to T-Series and subscribe to Pewdiepie. Ignoring the artists’ reaction, I wonder why T-Series acted the way they did? Now, if there were artists promoting bad music, it would make sense to remove just the music or the particular artist. But all of them? If this was the action of a single person, this would be considered racist and would have blown up. But it hasn’t. After all, this is a corporation. Their objective is to make money. As an Indian company, I’m guessing that they didn’t want to be involved with the politics surrounding the situation, and so they cut off their involvement with Pakistan. I wonder if it was worth the risk on their side...
But I’m more interested in talking about the man that has intrigued me for a long time. Pewdiepie.
Everyone wants to either love or hate Pewdiepie. For those that love him, he’s an entertainer, a gamer, a funny guy, a kind person. For those that hate him, he’s greedy, a racist... And what do I think? Well, honestly I have to separate the audiences to two types of people - the ones who are relaxed, chill, not serious; and then the others who are serious. So yea, the not serious people and the serious people. That’s who I think they are. The not serious people love pewds, and the serious people hate on him. The serious people tend to be goal-driven. These people have brought up controversies about Pewdiepie, and right now my objective is to debunk the theories... at least I’ll try to. I’ll probably fail though lol.
Proceeding onwards...
The first controversy is that Pewdiepie is greedy. Mainstream journalists would argue that he is money-driven. I’m sure that the Pewdiepie that started his YouTube channel, back when he was working at a hot dog stand, was thinking that he was going to get rich making a YouTube channel. Yea, he definitely only wants money, when over the past several years he has donated to several different charities, which the total monetary value accumulates to over a million dollars. I’m SO sure that T-Series has a similar record, despite the fact that there is no record of them ever donating to any sort of charity. The most recent charity that Pewdiepie has done... well hold the phone because I want to get into the next controversy or two before talking about it.
The second controversy is that due to the “battle of subscribers”, loyal fans of Pewdiepie decided to actively promote his channel. Some would do it in legal ways, some in questionable ways but not harmful... but a small number would do it illegally. Pewdiepie condemns these illegal actions. I mean, I definitely would if I was in his position. I would be acting out of self-interest because I wouldn’t want to cause myself more trouble, and I’d rather not cause trouble for someone who enjoys my content. Anyways, the worst happened about a month ago. I don’t want to go into the details, but a mass shooting took place, and the person responsible for it had been promoting the channel leading up to the event. The people who decide to illegally promote the channel are causing themselves trouble, and potentially giving mainstream journalists an excuse to blame Pewdiepie for the actions of others.
Realistically, Pewdiepie does not have any control over the action of others, especially if he does not directly communicate with them. At most, Pewdiepie could be considered a role model for his subscribers who adore him. So I can definitely believe that his existence will influence those that watch him. But journalists should not take that one single influence as the primary blame for the action of others. If Pewdiepie was truly promoting this bad behavior, wouldn’t we be seeing far more illegal actions on a global scale? Not just a few, not just dozens, but either hundreds, thousands, or tens of thousands a day? Obviously not. In my mind, I now personally believe that any attempts to attack Pewdiepie are goal-driven attempts to label him as a bad person.
Which brings me to the final controversy - he’s a racist... or so the mainstream journalists and the haters would say. They have the strongest evidence to push this type of propaganda, so that naturally makes it harder to argue against it. Naturally I’m the type of person who just wants people to get along, and doesn’t want anything to do with hate speech... Therefore, trying to defend Pewdiepie regarding this subject has to be the most annoying thing I’ve ever done. But it will definitely give myself a chance to know how to deal with this sort of subject in the future.
The evidence of the controversy lies within his videos. And just to clarify, the intent of Pewdiepie’s videos is to entertain, or to be funny. That’s the type of channel that he is. It isn’t a channel that people are supposed to take seriously. It should’ve been obvious from all the goofiness and childish screamings that anyone could see from his channel over the years. But anyways, in some of his childish schemes, he occasionally says things or does things that, in a different context, could be considered to be racist or offensive. It doesn’t really help him that he went on fiverr a while back to ask for some childish services. If it was for any context other than providing entertainment for his video, then his actions could definitely have been considered racist. That’s why it is understandable why some people providing services on fiverr did not provide their services, because they believed it would breach the service agreement. That’s not the only time people have labeled him as a racist.
Remember the diss-track video B****-Lasagna? I’m going to be honest, I’ve listened to music 2-3 weeks ago a few times, but I have absolutely no idea what is in the lyrics. However, knowing Pewdiepie, the intent is the same as always: be childishly funny to entertain his audience. It’s obviously not meant to be taken seriously. This didn’t stop haters and journalists from pointing it out. It also didn’t help that his subscribers starting acting like Pewdiepie, and started making jokes that could be seen as racist towards Indians. That’s why Pewdiepie made a bold decision. I’m betting he was worried that his subscribers would end up being divided. Remember how I mentioned that I would talk about another charity? Pewdiepie started a charity that would donate to a service for nine-year olds in India. I don’t really remember the details, but I recommend anyone interested researching the details yourselves. You won’t really find the details from haters or mainstream journalists.
Pewdiepie obviously is almost never serious, and is acting childish to be funny. I mean, who seriously wants to be serious? There are only a few videos that Pewdiepie tries to be serious, and when he does, he just can’t help but make a few childish jokes here and there. Probably because it’s hard for him to be serious. I think it’s fair to me to assess that for the most part he isn’t a serious person. I also think it’s fair for me to say that he doesn’t care about what happens to himself, but he worries about keeping his subscribers out of trouble when it is significant enough and relates to himself. Honestly, I cannot really find any bad intent from Pewdiepie.
So just getting back to T-Series real quick to summarize their controveries... They had tried to evade taxes to maximize their profits. As a person who despises the current system of economics in general due to my personal moral reasons, I generally consider corporations as bad because they do business with their consumers, but don’t give their fair share of taxes which are partially used to give back to the economy. As a company who started by selling pirated cassettes, I can’t really be surprised that their moral grounds are so low, or maybe they’ve never given this any sort of moral reasoning (this is my bad attempt at giving them a benefit of a doubt). Additionally, they sent that cease and desist letter to Pewdiepie. I don’t think that they’ve gotten any damages from anything Pewdiepie’s done now that I think about it. On the contrary, I think they’ve only gotten more subscribers, more money, more popularity and headlines... So I really don’t think they have a case for defamation. It just sounds like an attempt to make Pewdiepie stop or an attempt for them to get as much money as possible. Finally, they removed the Pakistani pop artists’ music videos from their channel due to the standoff between India and Pakistan. It could be understandable if they were obligated to do it due to politics, but honestly... it just makes no sense. There’s really no context to it. The real problem is that T-Series is just too big of a mystery and its actions are just too shady. There is really no historical context surrounding T-Series (at least outside of India).
As it stands, I support Pewdiepie far more than T-Series, which is why I subscribed to him 2-3 weeks ago... That was right before T-Series struggled over a few days trying to take 1st, before finally getting into first, only for Pewdiepie to release his final diss-track, and as of now pewds is ahead by over 150k. So that makes me feel pretty good about the situation.
Regarding T-Series... I’m going to treat it like any corporation or political entity. If it expects to be treated better than Pewdiepie, then honestly, it needs to express its humanity. I don’t even know what good things they do outside of their regular services. They really need to begin from scratch. Start by expressing its moral grounds, and base its business goals around its sense of morality. Secondly, start being more transparent... about everything. The more transparent, the better. If it’s got a good morality, being transparent would only benefit itself in the eyes of the public... And if it’s got a bad sense of morality... Well we’ll know because it’ll continue being shady and a mystery. I expect people that want to know the truth of T-Series to seriously start investigating everything they can about it. If T-Series is good, it’ll be naturally transparent and it’ll be easy to learn about it and its employees. If it isn’t, they’ll be hiding their secrets and it will require lawful investigations, like in the case of the tax officials, to learn about them.
So in conclusion, my opinion has been formed. Pewdiepie and T-Series have their controversies, but Pewdiepie’s can at least be reasonably explainable, while T-Series is just too big of a mystery. I’ll give my trust and subscription to the YouTuber that I’ve seen develop over the years, who I’ve seen grown as a person (albeit still regularly acting childish in his videos)... On the other hand, I’ll definitely be keeping a close eye on T-Series. The “battle for subscribers” will be continuing on for some time, and everyone wants to know who will reach 100 million first. Some of my time will be invested in observing this, so... yea..
P.S. Regarding sources, I’m too lazy to mention sources, but wikipedia is a good place to start... Pewdiepie vs T-Series... You’ll probably have to search for Pewdiepie charities somewhere else though, although I didn’t try his wiki page. Anyways, Ive been working on this for 3 hours, time to rest... G’d day.

“Sometimes, if you want to change a man's mind, you have to change the mind of the man next to him first.”
The party, as Doom had intended, was a stunning success. The civilians and superheroes were mingling, trusting that Doom and his military were going to keep them safe. Of course for the evening, the civilians and superheroes would be protected from any bodily harm, but the party was not solely for Doom’s public to enjoy themselves and realize how trustworthy he is. With the public outcry, Doom realized that he was not the only one invested in such… transparency. New Yorkers demanded that their superheroes aid his cause, and as such, he intended to release the names of those were forthcoming. The others, fortunately, would inevitably bend to the people’s will. Superheroes were obligated to fall into the hands of the people.
As Doom entered on the stage, the music immediately stopped playing and the crowd fell into a familiar silence. His appearances were admittedly sparse, but when they occurred, people were always thrilled to see Doom and hear what he had to say. Power was a funny thing and on Battleworld, it all belonged to him, particularly after his loyal subjects forced the heroes to comply to his will by signing the list. Doom had no intention of forcing them superheroes into anything -- quite the contrary, it drew a clear line of what threats would have to be subtly eliminated first. Those that signed were malleable, willing for the best interest of the majority, while those that refused would never join his cause.
“Good evening everyone,” Doom greeted, speaking clearly into the microphone. He forced an uncharacteristic smile on his features, fitting the mood of the evening thus far. “Firstly, I would like to thank all of you who have aided our noble pursuit for resources. We had enough to host this event and plenty more to spare. My government and I will be implementing a fair system to share resources among each and everyone of you, but we will discuss that in the morning. Currently, there’s no need to ruin our festivities, is there?” The crowd forced a chuckle in agreement and he nodded once in response. “Secondly, I would like to thank you all for coming. Without you New Yorkers, we would not be building some semblance of a civilization. Lastly, in the interest of protecting that very civilization, I must speak once more about transparency.”
Interested, the crowd murmured in response and looked to each other for an answer that would not come. No one knew of Doom’s intention to leak the list. Alexis was an excellent advisor, one he trusted minimally, but she was interested in protecting their heroes unlike Doom. Alexis had not personally experienced what a nuance superheroes truly were. “Without honesty, we will not survive our isolation,” he began. “New York needs to work closely in order for our community to thrive. We have no communication with Earth, with our friends, our allies, and that is a threat that I take seriously. Our primary means of defence is our superheroes, and while many have agreed to aid me and signed the list, many have not. Currently, I intend to take the only realistic step I can to change that.” His voice turned sorrowful and he paused, allowing the emotion to settle. It was all falsified, but to the public, it would look realistic. “I am truly, deeply sorry to do this, but I have no choice. I have been waiting patiently, but I refuse to risk any more of my public’s lives.” Doom raised his hand in silent command and suddenly, a list appeared on the wall behind him.
The crowd started loudly speaking, debating what had been revealed. On the broadcast behind Doom was the list of the superhero that had signed, though the details of their powers were not present. In order to clarify, Doom raised his hand and silence once again settled on the crowd. “This is the list of incredible, brave heroes that have agreed to list their powers with me, thus keeping us as a public safe. These individuals are incredible and I will be rewarding them accordingly once it’s possible. Those that have not are leaving New York City in danger, the Daily Bugle is correct in that assessment, and I hope that hearing the emotional pleas from myself and public will sway their judgment.” Of course Doom didn’t count on the superheroes changing their mind, they were a pigheaded bunch, but it would make his primary enemies obvious. “Thank you to all that have supported my list and my attempts to keep our city safe and working closely with me to do so. Please help me in convincing the others this is a necessary thing,” he said, his voice heavy with emotion still. “I love you all and from here on in, I have every intention of being more forthcoming. Goodnight New York, please continue to enjoy the party.” As Doom finished, he smiled once again at the civilians and then quietly left.
Once he rounded the corner away from the stage, Alexis cornered him, demanding, “What have you done?” As he suspected, she was angry about the situation.
“What is necessary,” he replied, moving past her easily. From Doom’s perspective, it was the only reasonable course of action, and it would guarantee his success.
What’s happened:
Doom has made the list of superheroes public, implying that they’re working closely with him in the process
Doom has promised to be honest going into the future in an attempt to help the public
After the sudden release of the list, things between Doom and Alexis Chamberlain are far more heated
Prompts:
Despite having a fairly public identity, Character A made the decision not to list their powers. When someone in the crowd recognizes them, the terrified public turns on them and Character B must help them escape.
Character A, a listed hero, is disgusted by the leaking of the list. They set out to find Doom and confront him while Character B struggles to talk them down.
The outraged public begins to get rowdy, and Characters A and B take it upon themselves to attempt to quell the crowd’s fears.
Intent on doing damage control, Character A asks Character B for help in deciding what should be done regarding the list’s leak.
Character A, previously unlisted, makes the decision to list their abilities in order to save themselves from the fallout. They ask Character B, who is already listed, to assist them.
Due to the chaos, Character A makes the decision to leave the party and attempts to convince Character B to join them. Character B wants to stay and assist with the fallout, leading to an argument.
After a few days to reassess the situation, Character A and Character B discuss the merits of signing/not signing, depending on their position.

Westworld is a unique experience where you can live out your fantasies set in the classical western town of Sweetwater. You’ll encounter a wide variety of characters during your time in the park, with the danger and difficulty increasing the further out you travel. In Westworld, you can truly live without limits.
A Delos Destination
There are three groups of characters:
Staff are those responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the hosts, the park, and the guest experience. They are employees of the Delos corporation and are tasked with both maintaining the current park and innovating with new updates for the hosts. Realism and complete immersion is the ultimate goal.
Guests are those fortunate individuals that have been either invited or have paid their way to Westworld (Which isn’t cheap at $40,000 per day). Upon arrival, all guests will be able to choose from a bespoke wardrobe and also various weapons as desired to carry with them while in Westworld. Once guests board the train to Sweetwater, what happens next is entirely in their control.
Hosts are next-generation synthetic beings complete with programmed emotions and tailored responses. Each host has been carefully scripted and planted to lead guests during their journey in Westworld. From the farmer’s daughter to the rogue gunslinger, all are part of a carefully planned storyline that ebbs and flows at the guest’s choosing. Do not be alarmed by their capabilities and realistic emotions. Their core code prevents them from harming guests.

Is it logical to assume that even if Jack flunked out of med school, he would have/his time in Delta would provide him with knowing how to give a basic exam (I.e. Mac, because he doesn't like hospitals/doctors)
Yup! And for the purposes of his job, the assessment he learned in Delta would likely be significantly more useful than the one he (maybe) learned in med school.
Let’s talk a little about the focuses of different medical assessment strategies.
In-Hospital Assessments:
Docs and nurses train primarily for a hospital environment, which is perfect for what the majority of them will end up doing. Traditional inpatient hospital assessments are relatively long and either extensively focused around a single previously-known issue and reallllly basic and generic for everything else, or long and generic for everything as a whole, even when the majority of what is being assessed for may be more discomfort or discharge-delaying rather than acutely life threatening.
This works well for an environment where everyone knows what’s going on with the patient, and the main goal of the assessment is to monitor if and how well a treatment is working and how well a patient is tolerating it.
In-hospital assessment goals would be, in this order:
Real, right-now life threats to airway, breathing, or circulation (CPR, rescue breathing, Code Blue, Code White/Stroke).
Anything that’s changed that isn’t an immediate life threat, but may become one (increased difficulty breathing, changes in heart rhythm, significant changes in vital signs, or changes in mental status since last assessment, Rapid Response Team)
Any other changes in assessment finding (increased output in a drain, pain/nausea/itching, bruising, psychosocial problems, expected changes in other medical problems that aren’t related to the condition they’re being treated for)
Assessments for possible precautions, like falls, self harm, elopement, communicable disease, or violence.
Comfort measures, like pain or nausea control.
Discharge planning.
Pre-Hospital Assessments:
People who are trained for more field-based medicine (EMTs, medics, first responders, and emergency department personnel), have an assessment strategy that is almost exclusively focused on finding and correcting life threats extremely quickly and effectively. Think of it as medical detective work and damage control.
This works well for a situation where the provider might not know the patient or what happened to them but there’s a good chance whatever it is is gonna kill them really soon without immediate intervention.
Pre-hospital assessment goals would be, in this order:
Scene safety for rescuers and patient, move patient or correct scene safety issues if necessary
Manage any problems with a patient’s airway, with rescue position or artificial/advanced airway like an OPA or intubation
Manage any problems with a patient’s breathing
Manage any problems with a patient’s circulation, including stopping severe bleeding or providing CPR/fluid resicitation/IV/IO/drug therapies if trained
Secure cervical spine if necessary
Manage any environmental threats, like hypothermia
Perform a more in-depth assessment and find any injuries that aren’t immediately life threatening but still need treated promptly
Provide first aid measures, like splinting and bandaging, and management of non-life-threatening bleeding
NOTE: nurses and docs are not generally taught first aid/trauma-based assessment strategies while at school. Ask any (USA-trained) baby nurse or med school graduate about the first time they were asked to perform first aid real-world (because they’re a doctor now, they should do it!) or help in a car accident. Odds are, the story will be downright cringe worthy.
A recently graduated EMT or other trained First Responder/WFR, meanwhile, is already going to be able to perform decent first aid/trauma care from the start. That’s what they’re trained for.
Tactical Combat Casualty Care Assessments:
Jack himself would have probably been trained in a version of the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) curriculum (take a look at a TCCC manual here). That teaches and assessment that’s even more streamlined than a traditional prehospital (EMT) assessment, but is VERY niche. That niche being that the injury is shrapnel/bullet related and someone is shooting at you.
TCCC is almost exclusively trauma (injury) based, putting particular emphasis on life threats that can be addressed quickly and easily and not put other people in jeopardy for too long. For example, stopping severe bleeding would be worth doing under fire, while splinting broken limbs or performing CPR would be more detrimental to rescuers than helpful for the patient.
Jack’s training would be to, in this order:
Suppress enemy fire (the scene would be inherently assumed unsafe without realistic way to make it safe for patient or rescuer)
Find and treat severe bleeding
Get casualty to cover
Manage airway (via recovery position, or if necessary and trained to do so, use of an OPA)
Support breathing and assess and treat for a tension pneumothorax with needle decompression if necessary and trained to do so
Get some kind of vascular access, such as a large IV or IO if trained to do so
Manage shock
Manage hypothermia
Provide pain control
Splint fractures
Provide infection prevention
It might not be wholly applicable to “Mac doesn’t want to go to the doctors” but he would be able to find and mitigate certain life threatening situations, especially if they were trauma-related and they were under fire.
