hey I was trying to find the mechanisms but I can't find it anywhere - do you perchance know where it could be?

So!!

The mechanisms were a storytyelling musical cabaret band that ran from 2012-2020, when they released their first album, Once Upon A Time (In Space).

You can find their website here.

If your looking to start listening, i would recomend listening in release order (OUAT(IS), UDAD, TTBT Vol I, HNOC, TBI, Frankenstein, TTBT Vol II).

If you want an intro to the characters, I would reccomend Revenge Of Spaceport Mahoen, which is a good mixture of origin songs.

I'd also recomend checking out TheVoidSings, who holds this fandom together with blood, sweat, tears, and lyric videos.

The final thing they played was Death To The Mechanisms, which can be found here (bandcamp) or here (youtube livestream/lyric video mashup, because it went funky near the end. (it has closed captions throughout the entire thing))

I’m surprised that in all the seasons of OUAT, in which they have had so many characters, ranging from Snow White and Cinderella to Bo Peep and Hansel and Gretel to even Frankenstein and Jekyll and Hyde that they never had Dracula!

They had werewolves and witches and Frankenstein’s monster, but not the big bad iconic Vampire man himself, Count Dracula.

This makes me think how they would do it. Rumplestiltskin would obviously be involved somehow, Dracula would probably either be related and/or a love interest to a character at some point.

I also wonder, if they had adapted Dracula into OUAT, what characters would they keep? Would Mina and Jonathan be involved? Would Renfield still be a servant of Dracula, or something else entirely?

So many possibilities, and as a fan of the book, I am both shocked yet somewhat thankful that they didn’t adapt it, especially with how they treated a majority of their characters.

Okay so, I am OBSESSED with the details in Victor’s Field Commission from “In the Name of the Brother.” Specifically the part where it explicitly says they live in Austria.

This is less to do with the fact that the Frankensteins are Swiss in the novel and more to do with the implication that the Land Without Color is composed of the countries the Land Without Magic had circa the 1800′s.

Translation under the cut:

I don’t want to dig too deep into real world history because this is explicitly Fairy Tale Land. But according to my Wikipedia dive the position Prime Minister of Austria was a position that existed from 1848 until 1918 (replaced with the Chancellor ). The reign of the last Austrian Kaiser, Charles I, ended in 1918.

Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein in 1818, and the novel was explicitly set in the 1700′s.

Not complaining, to be clear, just find it interesting.
