There was a loud, ringing noise blaring out through the dark. Disturbing the peaceful silence in the bedroom Romana shares with Leela.

Romana opens her eyes groggily and groans before she rubs the sleep out of each corner to try and make herself feel more awake. She leans forward, turns the alarm clock towards her, and huffs. Surely it couldn't be 5am already? She could just do with another few more minutes in bed. Scratch that, she could do with another few hours in bed. She shouldn't have let Braxiatel and Narvin over with so much alcohol last night.

"If you don't turn that alarm off, I'm going to throw it against the wall." Leela threatens, half-asleep.

Romana tears her eyes away from the alarm clock, giving her girlfriend a smirk. "Ever the morning person." Nonetheless, she flickers a switch on the side of the alarm, turning it off.

Peaceful silence at last.

Leela stirs and smiles sleepily back. "Going so soon?"

"I have to," Romana says apologetically, getting out of bed and wrapping a dressing robe around her. "It's a big day today."

"Every day is a big day for you," Leela scowls. "Politics."

"Leela," Romana sighs. "It's election day. Today is the day I find out if I have a seat in parliament or not."

"I know," Leela sighs. She was proud of her girlfriend for making it this far. It has been a stressful few weeks, and Leela was still wrapping her head around all the political language, and how they climbed a metaphorical ladder to get to the top. But she wants her partner to do well, to succeed and she knows she cares about people and her city. Unlike other politician who she works alongside who were greedy and were in it for their own personal, self-interests. She gives Romana her best, pleading puppy eyes, the look she knows Romana will give in no matter what they may be arguing about. "Just...don't go. Not yet. Stay with me for another few more minutes? Please?"

Romana eyes soften, and she glances at the clock. How could she say no when Leela was looking at her like that? "Just another few more minutes," Romana agrees, climbing back into bed and wrapping her arm around Leela's waist, pulling her close. "Any later, then you will be in trouble."

Leela laughs and leans in, capturing Romana's lips with hers and Romana lets her in, sighing blissfully against Leela's lips. "I'll make sure you won't be late."

"Promise?"

"Promise. Besides, I couldn't let you leave without giving my girlfriend a lucky kiss."

Romana makes a cute, embarrassed noise and Leela laughs, taking all the delight she could to tease her girlfriend before the day decends into political chaos before them.
