Breyer released this lovely little Stablemate Stock Horse Mare (nicknamed Cassidy for her first release) in 2020, and I finally got the chance to customize her! So of course I made her over into one of my signature varnish roan appaloosas with a sorrel base.

I finally got to customize a traditional scale Breyer Fireheart--and he is magnificent! I painted him in a vivid bay roan, one of my most elaborate and time-consuming colorways, and painstakingly hand-painted each one of his scars and corn spots that befit his depiction as a mature, battle-worn mustang stallion.

Part of this past weekend's efforts included finishing up four sets of wearable ungulate ears--two red Highland cow and two mule deer. I did it!!!! My NaMoPaiMo '24 model is done! Ms. Understood here gave me quite a fight--I kept breaking her resculpted back left leg while prepping her (we can rebuild her. we have the technology.), redid her ears twice, had to strip the paint due to bad primer, and by the time I was halfway through painting her realized there were a few places where I could have sanded her epoxy a little more smoothly. But little imperfections and all, she turned out STUNNING. My goal this time around was to get out of my comfort zone and start with a non-white primer (I chose red), and holy moly, the DEPTH on this black is so much better for it--that colorway is definitely staying in rotation, especially for Arabians.

This was a fun little guy to customize! I found this tiny plastic Spanish fighting bull (Toro de Lidia) in an antique shop a while back. He was probably a vintage souvenir from Mexico or Spain, and his original black paint job was flaking off. So he got sanded and repainted to this lovely golden brown--a color I may do on a Breyer in the future since it turned out so nicely. I'm not a fan of bullfighting, so I like to think that he's sparring with another bull, or defending his herd from danger.

Don't get between this raccoon and her food! The little but fierce "trash panda" is lovingly recreated having laid claim to a bowl of dog food left out overnight.
