Apparently much-needed reminder that reposting artists' art (by saving the images or screenshotting them and reuploading them yourself) on other platforms without the artists' expressed permission and without credit is theft and an insult to their passion and craft. You are profiting (in views, in attention, in feedback) from someone else's work and ideas, who do not get that feedback for sharing their creation.

Social transition being seen (by some) as this super easy thing that isn't as hard as real transitioning (medical) is bullshit. Be critical of the idea that there are some trans people who just "have it easy" because they are trans or because they are trans in ways you may not be.
Social transition is just as difficult, hard, and rewarding as medical transition. Maybe it is not as hard for some, sure, but that is not the same as thinking that social transition is inherently easier or lesser. If you're socially transitioning, your voice still matters.

Okay so I'm not generally a sports person but I can't stop thinking about all the ways the foxes revolutionized exy. For example, the way their tiny team structure made them focus on endurance and coordination rather than brute force? Amazing. And related to that, the way that they adapted by training players to fill multiple positions? That must have had huge implications for how they understood other players needs and allowed for flexibility of they needed someone's specialty in a different position (see the final game). BUT ALSO the way Kevin and Neil specifically shook up the game was insane. Kevin being ambidextrous and using it to make his moves unpredictable. Using heavyweight racquets to put more strength behind their shots. Communicating only in French so opponents don't get any warning but they're still in sync with each other. I'll bet you anything other teams were scrambling to catch up and figure out how to play like the foxes did

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts saying “We shouldn’t be clowning on James Somerton fans right now! They didn’t know he was a grifter!” and while I do understand the sentiment here and agree that no one needs to be, like, self-flagellating about it, there is DEFINITELY a conversation that needs to be had about how, for years, James Somerton spouted misogynistic, lesbophobic, sinophobic, etc. rhetoric to an audience of almost entirely queer people and went pretty much unchallenged until now.
You can’t separate the fans from Somerton’s beliefs here; fans who saw these videos and were aware of what was said in them were, at least, totally cool with not confronting all this bigotry and didn’t see it as a deal-breaker. And that IS something they need to look inwards about right now.

There's always part of me that's thinking like. well mayb#e everyone DOES see the same exact thing but we just describe/conceptualize it so differently that we think we're talking about#different things when we're really not. But I have been assured by people I've talked to about it that they can GENUINELY really see#stuff in their heads like as vivid as an actual picture in real life or something. And the other senses are neat too. Like for exmaple I#can hear in my head much better than I can see imagery. I still CANNOT hear vividly like as if I were listening to actual music out loud..#but I think it's developed more than my sight. AND interesting how this varies the creative process. a friend I was talking to on the phone#said they write by literally just watching stuff play before them like a movie. where my process is COMPLETELY different. AND that affects#the content/what details we focus on as well as our individual styles of writing have differences that can be traced back to that.. hrmm

I feel like we as a fandom had a lot of this conversation during Campaign 2 but redemption, however you may interpret it, is a process. It is not a binary of redeemed and not redeemed. And in the world of a D&D actual play, a lot of the hard decisions really come down to "is the harm this person did actively ongoing, or is it a past action with ongoing ramifications" and "will they stop doing this continued harm quickly enough for it to matter." It sounds cold to say that it's a risk-benefit analysis, but on some level, it has to be be. I think Bor'Dor was likely redeemable in some abstract sense, but could Team Issylra do it with the time and resources they had without risking their own lives? Probably not. I think the same is true with Liliana: if they had months in which to do this - and they have been contacting her on and off for a couple months, and every effort failed - maybe, but the clock's run out.
#like. i think the liliana v. essek discussion is a very thorny one though one i'm personally willing to have#but a big part of it is that his great transgression was already in the past and he hadn't done much more other than cover it up since#so it's like. yeah they can give him that time#i also tbh think that the fact they found out about him just before the peace talks was a major factor#if the war was still raging...perhaps the response would have been very different#critical role#cr spoilers#cr discourse#anyway. the coin flip should always land on its side.

very pleased to report that i tried literally counting sheep last night and got my first full night's sleep in like a week in a long period of sleepless nights!!
#not sure if i should say 'this works guys!' because while it worked for me#i'm not sure if it'll work for everyone#but yeah! focusing on counting sheep gave my mind one thought to focus on#so it could drown all the others out! much more effective than just trying to 'think of nothing' which i CANNOT do#and as i got further i began spacing out the counting. i listened to my heartbeat#and after like ten beats i'd count the next sheep#and in between the counting i found my mind drifting sort of aimlessly#vague noise i wasn't fully consciously thinking of#which i think is generally a good sign for me. cause i'm losing control of my thought processes and slipping into dreaming#but every time i'd count another sheep it was fascinating.#'one hundred and sixty sheep' and just like that the background noise was all gone. and my mind was quiet again. wow.#anyway i had a full dream for the first time in a while. my cousin was there. i missed school by accident and was disappointed.#love you all💙 sweet dreams and restful nights on planet earth even though it's ten am for me
