No matter where you go, Yone brings you on fantastic dates. It's never popular tourist-trap type outings, either. If you ask how the hell he even found out about your date locations, he smiles coyly and says he can't reveal his sources. Regardless, expect lots of breathtaking, original dates—hidden trails that spill into breathtaking clumps of wildflowers, a hole-in-the-wall burger joint with the best fries you've had in tour entire life, tiny sculpture parks with some truly absurd statues (he absolutely refuses to delete the unflattering pic of you squatting next to a caked-up stone Sasquatch).

He isn't on his phone often, so don't be surprised if Yone doesn't text you back quickly or is overly-formal with his messages. Wild horses couldn't drag a silly emoji or a meme out of him. If you're lucky, you'll get a red heart, but that's about it. He tries not to make you feel neglected just because he's a dry texter, though. Especially when he's on tour, he calls you to check in whenever he's got a spare moment.

Yone's a chronic meal-skipper so he really appreciates if you share your food with him. Be warned, though, if you force him to step away from work and sit down for dinner you're either getting five minutes and a cup of instant ramen, or he's cooking you a three course meal complete with different appetizer, entree, and dessert wines. There's no in-between.

While Yone's not a fan of PDA, he holds your hand through every big event you're forced to attend. He doesn't appreciate the attention and flashing lights, but your warm, reassuring grip keeps him calm and relatively content.

Matching outfits are a little bit too much, but Yone is all for wearing clothing that compliments yours. Think similar textures, colors, and cuts. If you're wearing athleisure, he'll throw on a pair of stylish sweatpants. You're rocking the all black fit, so is he (with a pop of color in his earrings, probably—if he's completely monochrome, Kayn accuses him of "stealing his look"). Though he thinks it's a little cringy to be exact matches, he's definitely down to coordinate.

Whenever Yone makes himself a coffee, he whips up a glass of your favorite beverage as well. Nothing is too complicated—if you want a latte, he can make any flavor, and he'll pour the foam into a heart shape on top. Boba? No problem, he's got tapioca pearls in your favorite flavor and large straws on hand, to boot. A mimosa? Okay, he might raise his eyebrow at that one and point out that it's like eleven A.M.—nevertheless, if it's a mimosa you want, then it's a mimosa you'll get. Part of this is because he loves you, of course, but also? He hates sharing his coffee and figures that you won't ask for a sip if you've got your own drink.

Yone absolutely melts when you take care of him. He's used to looking after everyone else's wants and needs, so it's a pleasant surprise when someone extends that same care and attention to him. Cook him his favorite meal or take care of his laundry when he's been extra busy, and he looks at you like you're the eight wonder of the world. "You didn't have to do that for me," he cups your face gently, sweeping an appreciative kiss over your forehead. "But I'm glad that you did."

Chivalry is not dead and Yone's the man giving it CPR. Count on him to be the perfect gentleman. He opens every door for you, takes your coat whenever you drop by his studio, and no, under no circumstances will he let you pull out your own chair.

Yone's pet-names are sweet and classic. Most often, he calls you 'my darling', but he'll occasionally pepper in a 'dearest' or 'lover' for variety.

One of Yone's favorite ways to spend a free evening with you is sneaking into underground music shows. The two of you will turn up to somebody's house where the living room has been cleared to throw together a makeshift stage, or an abandoned warehouse with people clustering together and swaying to synthetic beats blasting through mid-grade speakers. More often than not, the musicians aren't that good (but that's par for the course with these kind of shows). The atmosphere can't be beat, though. And, when you do stumble upon somebody's garage band that actually goes hard, it's always an exciting surprise. Yone always keeps cash on him in case somebody's selling merch. He snags two stickers, one for you to keep and one to paste on his guitar case. What better way to commemorate shitty bands and crowded house shows than with matching stickers?

If you tag along with him on tour or business trips, Yone's first mission is to scout out a good coffee shop. Of course he takes you along, and buys you whatever little treats catch your eye. Sweets, sandwiches, snacks—anything he notices you ogling behind the glass, he orders for you.

Even with his massively packed schedule Yone NEVER, EVER forgets an important date. Expect gifts on birthdays and anniversaries, and extra love and support on dates that might be difficult for you.

Since Sett's a master crocheter, Yone pays him a frankly absurd amount to make you a plushie that looks like his fox mask. Yone knows that it can't be easy for you, with him away touring or on business so much of the time. The stuffed snuggle-buddy, he hopes, can ease your loneliness when he's away. Before he sets off on a long trip he makes sure to spritz your stuffie with his cologne, so that you can squish it in your sleep and dream that he's right there with you.

Yone's not a huge cuddler. Too much physical attention can make him feel smothered. The exception is when you sit on his lap. He loves when you settle onto him while he's working. As long as you're quiet and still (he doesn't want you to disturb his flow, after all), he basks in your comfortable warmth and the adorable way you tuck yourself into his chest.

i've explained this before in an old post but i am always up to ramble about this more lmao (also idk where the old post is, it was pinned for a while but has since been Buried)

back in like. i forgor exactly when, the 70s-80s? there was SUPPOSEDLY this weird old retro game called zampanio

what is it? what's it about? how does it play? who knows lmao

descriptions of it are wildly different and wildly inconsistent beyond a few core themes, and apparently have a tendency to delete themselves? idk it's weird

is zampanio even real? doubt it!

but! people still make fan-works of it

and now there's like. this weird self-perpetuating spiral of zampanio fanfiction where there is no original source material so people just make stuff based on other stuff based on other stuff

basically anything can be a zampanio fan-work (usually called a "branch" since there isn't really an original source material for it all to be fan-works of)

people have made zampanio branches in all sorts of different fandoms

it's magnus archives and it's homestuck and it's rain world and it's animorphs and it's mario & luigi and it's undertale and it's basically anything you want it to be

and basically the only things tying most of them together are occasional references between specific ones like recurring characters, and a few general overarching themes of obsession and stuff

it's kind of like goncharov

except it actually PREDATES goncharov (like, i'm in a zampanio discord server which has existed since before goncharov was a thing and i remember how funny everyone thought it was when Zampanio But Mafia Movie became a main-stream meme lmao)

it's very fun interacting with the community, it's pretty small but they've made some really cool stuff

there's a lot of unreality themes and it can definitely be. intense. at times

if you have issues with unreality/horror stuff it might not be for you?

but there's also a very comfortable vibe of like. you're surrounded by cautionary tales about getting too obsessed with stuff, but also reminders to NOT get too obsessed with stuff

Can I use your work for a profile picture/wallpaper on my device? Can I print your stuff?

You can take my work for personal use if you don't get any profit from it. If it's online - credit me.

Can I dub/translate your comics?

Yes but with few conditions.

1. You credit me as an original creator. If it's a video you put the credits in the video, not in the description. If it's a post you put them in the post itself, not in the comments.

2. You do not put your watermark on my work/do not erase my watermark. You also don't colour it/don't "fix" it. It's my work and my work alone.

3. You do not change the dialogue/add phrases that weren't said by the characters. Again, it is my work, it's my interpretation and I will not tolerate you taking my work and changing it to your liking.

4. If you want to profit from my work - you don't have my permission.

5. You take down videos/posts with my work if I ask you to.

If any of these don't suit you - you don't have my permission.

Can I make an AI bot of your character?

Hard no. Roleplay bots are almost always using public fanfiction without the consent of the authors, not paying for their hard work but using it for profit, it's theft and I'm not going to contribute to that. I'm already considering removing my own bots from Character AI, as ch.ai still doesn't tell the public how they're training their bots so we'll see about that.

Anything that is absolutely off the table when sending an ask?

- Please don't vent to me. I'm not a professional phycologist and I never agreed to play the role of one. I also avoid questions like "I had a bad day, can you draw[ ]?" because after them my inbox becomes a venting place. Please seek professional help if you feel like every day is worse than the previous.

- Please do not send me anything NS///FW. As much as I can support suggestive content, explicit stuff will be immediately deleted and if you make me uncomfortable I probably will block you. No hard feelings but Tumblr is an SFW place for me. If you see me reblog something not SFW, it was probably made by my friend or with previous discussion and proper mature labels for everything.

Can I send you a DM, not an ask?

After some not-very-pleasant experiences that made me uncomfortable, I closed my DM's for everyone except my mutuals. But you're still free to send me asks about anything(within reasonable limits ofc).

Can I write a fic based on your art? Can I use your ideas in my works?

About ideas - ask first. I can get protective over one idea but completely don't care about the other one. If I said yes, credit me as an original source.

Can I draw a fanart/write you a fic?

Of course!! I'm absolutely happy to see anything! Also please tag me when you're done. If it's one of my au's - use specific tags for fanart so even if dumb Tumblr doesn't send me your tag, I will eventually bump into it browsing the tag!<3 (you can also tag me again if you think I didn't see your fan work, I absolutely don't mind!!) Also, feel free to drop an ask with a link too!

Can I tag you in other stuff?

As I already said you can absolutely tag me for any type of fan content(it doesn't even need to be yours). Memes are fine too, just don't do it every day alright?

Why don’t you answer my ask?

It can be one of these reasons:

1. I want to answer your ask with an art piece/comic. It takes time.

2. Your question contains spoilers so I'm keeping it for later when the truth can be revealed =]

3. I'm busy. Yeah.

4. I've already answered something similar/I don't want to answer your question so your ask got deleted.

When will you continue working on [insert whatever]?

When I can. I'm not pausing my things just to spite you. Most of the time I'm just busy or I simply don't have the energy to do anything. To everyone who says stuff like "oh well we've been waiting for a few months already!!" - I'm not here to entertain you. I'm here to have fun and share it with other people and you're currently ruining it. I will block anyone who is doing this continuously.

Can you draw my characters?

For free? No, I don't accept requests like that. You can commission me though. When my commissions are open of course. I will open DMs when it happens.

What content are you okay/not okay with?

Admiring of any of these in real life: terrorism, racism, rape, war, sexism, misogyny, transphobia, homo/queerphobia, pedophilia, sex trafficking, mental illnesses. If the content tries to show how terrible these things are I am mostly okay with it.

Is there anything I should watch out for on your page?

Dark themes, suggestive themes, and sometimes negative ones. I'm not afraid to draw violence, blood and gore. Dark humour. In general, I don't recommend anyone who's under 16 to be here but it's always your responsibility for what you're about to see.

In your bio, it says russians DNI? Is it about every russian or only those who support the war?

I don't care if you're a good russian or not, I don't care about your opinions and worldview. I don't want you in here. I have no time nor desire to try and understand how good you are. As a Ukrainian, I have all the right to tell all russians and people who admire anything connected to them to go fuck yourself. It's my safe place and I don't feel safe with zz's in it. Do you feel like I'm being "too categorical"? Don't make it my problem and leave. End of conversation.

Even WITHOUT war context (which I actually huge and should NOT be ignored) this post explains pretty well why this boundary exists.

What is your stance on reposting your artwork/fics?

The only cases when I allow reposting are dubs/translations with credits and all the other rules that I mentioned earlier. In other cases, no, do not repost my artwork. Doesn’t matter if you credit, I said no.

I saw your art somewhere but I'm sure you weren't the one to post it.

I post on Tumblr and Tiktok, my nickname always contains "xitsen" in it. You also could possibly see the dubs of my stuff on YouTube, as I allow these. Please send me an ask with a link to the repost if it's somewhere else. I will try to solve the situation myself.

Can I use your work as a reference? Can I trace/copy it?

Reference? Yes. If it's very obvious - credit me too. Trace/copy? No. No. And no. It's straight-up stealing.

What pronouns do you use?

She/they. Please don't refer to me in masculine terms.

What art program(s) do you use? Drawing tablet? Brushes?

For art pieces 90% of the time it's Paint Tool Sai 2, sometimes Photoshop and Krita. For animations, it's rather Toon Boom Premium or Krita.

My tablet is fucking 6 years old, Wacom something. They don't sell these anymore so I couldn't even find the model lmao.

Brushes - standard SAI brushes, watercolour for shading and brush for line art. If it's textured I use my custom one, you can create it yourself if you use SAI.

Why do you call [character] a whore??

It's an inside joke that suddenly became bigger than we expected. A silly, a funny, a goofy. It's not slut shaming if you thought it was. I love to joke about characters being whores in the most affectionate and lighthearted way possible even when the character clearly has no bitches. It even doesn't need to be sexual. Just a hee-hee ha-ha.

Ok I've had a minute and some dives into the lore. And here is the MOST coherent version of what I'm calling the "Unified Tree Theory" that I've been pondering since Calamity:

So according to Encyclopedia Exandria, the Luxon created the Primordials/Titans and also devoted itself into the cycle of rebirth/reincarnation in a very Buddhist sense of repeating life to reach a state of "perfection."

How absolutely tragic that a hubristic wizard lit some candles and said some words and not only "deleted" a god of death, but took over the MOMENT when the strings of mortality are cut and deciding to be the arbiter of what happens next. What a slap in the face to the Luxon's intentions for mortal life.

Atrophy and Blight are close enough words connotatively to definitely link Laerryn's spell to the name Atrophy, especially considering we're already on board playing cultural meme narrative telephone with language.

I don't think Evandrin ever chose to come "back" to the tree. I think a piece of him was caught in the runic net and never left, even if most of him was able to travel amongst the stars. We know Zerxus was not a paladin of a Prime Deity, but *of the people.* So assuming that Zerxus and Evandrin were both tapping into the same power source, i.e. the Luxon, it would be even more reasonable that the Luxon allowed for different aspects, versions, or pieces of Evandrin to exist in multiple places simultaneously.

(Probably useful info is that I firmly believe Evontra'vir is a language shift of Evandrin Alterra of Avalir in the vein of Gau Drashari -> Ashari -> Hishari; Avalir -> Savalir; Mt. Ygora -> Cathmoira)

(Ex. Otohan's Dunamancy backpack is the explanation for her Echo Knight abilities. Multiple versions, different place, Same time. But that's diluted, distilled, *stolen* instead of granted straight from the source. I don't currently see a reason why the Luxon itself would not grant more bespoke power directly.)

Also, I have a mighty need to rant about the fucking Trees

The Sun Tree: "Planted" by Pelor/Dawnfather, at the site of the battle between Ioun and Tharizdun, at Whitestone. Lvl 20 Oaths of Ancients Paladins can manipulate their physical form to be more "plant like." Additionally, we KNOW God's can change their champions into other forms/shapes but maintain the personality of the humanoid transformed. (Mace of the Black Crown, specifically, but it does seem all the Arms of the Betrayers used to be sentient creatures - and we have no reason to assume, other than alignment - that a Prime would not have this same power.)

Arbor Exemplar: planted by Melora/Wildmother at the "most desolate location in Exandria at the time" (according to Encyclopedia Exandria) and is *the sister tree* of...

The Seed of Rebirth: planted at the heart of the Abundant Terrace in Vasselheim. Described as the "sister" to the Arbor Exemplar...

Who can say these three trees are not champions? Whose to say the gods are not "reverse engineering" the deep, wordless magic of the Luxon and these three (if not more!!!) Trees are recreating a weaker version of the protection the Tree of Names offered.

And, to the point I set out to make originally, who is to say the Matron of Ravens did not, had not, or would not, manipulate the Tree of Names/Tree of Atrophy to bolster her own defenses, domains and sources of power? Ludinus did it with distilled dunamancy and otohan, why would the Matron, know Wizard, with all the power and perspective of a god, not do the same to this Tree?

Reaching out and deciding to follow up:

I think I will begin by adding context to a post I made on Medium detailing my experiences with transandophobia in the fandom at the time. You might want to read it first, but that's up to you.

What's important to note, is while I will be adding names, this is not meant as a callout post. I'm not trying to list sins, I'm trying to talk about what happened from my personal perspective.

This is fucking long and I'm not even done with the first point as of typing this so under a cut it goes lol

A few disclaimers: Because of the nature of Twitter, I have little to no receipts of what happened as of this posting. Ideally I would have images of or links to tweets or discord chats or anything else, but I know at least one person I will be referencing mass deleted their tweets on a regular basis.

That's Kate Mitchell. I don't know why I bother being vague about her so much, since she's infamous enough even to people who weren't around at the time.

Okay, well, I do know. I'm still afraid. And I don't mean to build her up as some big scary evil trans fem, but as many of you know, she was responsible for a lot of harassment, and a lot of my harrassment specifically.

But also she is a trans fem on the internet and was Known before she got big in the Homestuck fandom (she was a team manager of some Overwatch League -- you can google it, I don't know enough about esports to explain, but suffice to say, she left that community with some bad accusations there as well). As such, she had her own page or thread or whatever on kiwifarms, and people used that thread of "evidence" against her when trying to criticize her.

Note: Do not fucking do that. I don't care what a queer person has done, never trust much less spread "evidence" you find on kiwifarms. They're lying transphobic assholes to put it mildly. If anything on any of those threads are true, you'll find it elsewhere. There's a reason Kate supporters called her critics "useful idiots" (outside of just wanting to call us idiots and then laugh because we didn't understand what the term meant in some real "I'm more woke/educated/better than you bullshit"). (From Wikipedia: In political jargon, a useful idiot is a term currently used to reference a person perceived as propagandizing for a cause—particularly a bad cause originating from a devious, ruthless source—without fully comprehending the cause's goals, and who is cynically being used by the cause's leaders.[1][2] The term was often used during the Cold War to describe non-communists regarded as susceptible to communist propaganda and manipulation.[1])

In a similar vein, I've seen some of the callout posts and image receipts made for Kate and I just can't sign off on most of them. Some of them lack context, some of them are fearmongering about fictional content, some of them aren't actually that serious but treated as just as bad as everything else. At the same time, I'd be a hypocrit if I didn't mention that I used to agree with some of those points and it took many discussions and personal growth to figure my shit out. (What is funny to me personally, is at least one features Kate being an ass to one of my trans fem friends, so I do that point at screen meme each time I see it. If you see an icon of Ardata with a clown nose, that's my friend.)

This is all to say: I have complicated feelings about talking about Kate publicly. My dislike of her has gotten me accused of transmisogyny, and I do my absolute best to check my feelings and biases before I say anything to avoid perpetuating any transmisogyny. However, it was also often used as a bludgeon to prevent people from talking about their experiences, whether or not they were also trans fem. My problem with Kate is that she was a bully, and one of the tools she used was her identity as a trans lesbian. That does not say anything about any other trans lesbian or the concept of being a trans lesbian. Just her.

You see? Paragraphs of me making sure everyone knows where I come from with Kate. It's important, but the fear of being misinterpreted has made it hard for me to name her specifically. As recently as a year or two ago, I had an ex-friend accuse me of "still crying about a trans woman disagreeing with [me] on a podcast" (paraphrased) when I vague posted about it. The fear is not unfounded.

This is all to say -- Kate was known to mass delete her tweets, even before she left Twitter for good. I only have one or two tweets of hers saved (the one I'm certain about is in the Medium post, so I'll get to it).

Kate was not the only one who deleted Tweets, as documented by Homestuck.net (which is a great resource for Homestuck archival stuff, despite the discourse surrounding it (which I might get into on another post down the road)).

@andrewhussie: Andrew Hussie’s personal twitter, historically used to troll people and directly communicate with the fanbase. Deleted all tweets in 2022, before that the last activity was in late 2021.

I link a twitter thread of mine that is my immediate reaction to the Toblerone June "canonization"

This, I think, is what got me on Kate and Aysha's radars (I think it was this thread or a similar one that got quote retweeted to Aysha's locked twitter and then got noticed by Kate, putting me more on her radar) outside of "another Homestuck podcaster rubbing elbows with people we know better." This is the tweet that leads to the most uncomfortable and ultimately traumatic podcast interview of my life (I say as though I have guested on more than that podcast lmao). I can dig more into it later.

Shoving this here, as I'm writing this and have mentioned Aysha several times (down below) but have not figured out a good place to talk about who she is. Also I'm not sure if her pronouns are she/her or they/them. I think people refer to her using she/her, so that's what I will do, and I'll correct it if I find out I'm wrong.

Aysha is the lead writer at What Pumpkin. She wrote several volumes of Friendsim, helped with the Epilogues, wrote for and has her own self insert in Pesterquest, co-founded Snake Solutions with Kate, etc. You can look up all her contributions pretty easily. She is often considered "one of the good ones" at WP, but she was just better at keeping things on the down low until the whole Sarah Z/Gio situation, which I'll link to later. Probably in a reblog or at the very end.

This is almost word for word a tweet Kate made, in one of her "kinder" moments. Again, no receipts. Maybe someone has it out there somewhere, but I think if anyone had been diligently archiving Kate's tweets, we would have seen more of them by now.

I was personally publicly ridiculed on an “unofficial” Homestuck podcast (that regularly had WP staff on it and even got an exclusive statement from Hussie to be read aloud on it) as a “June skeptic” simply for not having anything to add when the topic turned to transfem readings for Egbert in the comic and my previous twitter statements about not being a huge fan of Toblerone canon (my Twitter thread about it below).

That podcast was Perfectly Generic Podcast. It was created and run by Kate, and, from my understanding, launched her popularity. I'm not sure if she already had connections, because she was able to get What Pumpkin staff on pretty early on. As such, a lot of people listened to it.

I go into depth on how I got on the podcast and my feelings about it in the linked thread, but I'd like to add a little more.

I was kind of frozen once the episode ended. That was... fine, right? I tried to justify it to myself. It wasn't until my friend (the one whose favor got me on the podcast) talked to me and, after I was kinda weird about it, mentioned they felt weird about it, did I realize how terrible I felt. I had been given the file to upload onto my own feed since it was a crossover, but I never uploaded it. The episode is still out there, along with a transcript, if anyone cares to search it out, but I'm not going to link it.

More people came forward admitting it was an uncomfortable episode. I blocked Kate and kind of... shut down? I still had episodes to record and publish, and I didn't publicly talk about my feelings until the linked thread months later.

Speaking of the block:

So the above is from one of Kate's locked accounts. I was (obviously) not privvy to this one, and thus I've been hesitant to post it. But it's been years, and I'm tired of sitting on shit that was shown to me and made me feel worse about everything without being able to provide the context. None of y'all know how I got this screenshot, anyway. Also, it's clear that before I blocked her (or before she noticed) she had been saying some shit about me. (I ended up having someone tell her to keep the money.)

One of my friends vagued about the episode on my behalf, and Kate, in turn, also vague posted about it on main.

In the line of sharing screenshots that were from places I didn't have access to, but none of y'all know who shared them with me... "Jax Does Homestuck" is the old name for my podcast "Live Laugh Stuck." This was the episode that came out after my episode on PGenPod. I'm blacking out the people I don't know are for sure part of WP staff or otherwise someone to naturally come up in this discussion

Note: I had not said anything publicly about this until January, and these posts are from October.

And yes, I'm sticking with calling them traumas. I have psychiatric permission and everything, if that even matters. I don't know if I'll touch on this again elsewhere in this post, but in case I don't, I guess I want to end this section saying that this whole thing caused me to lose friends, before I even started accepting and opening up about "proship" views, which lost me more. I was invited to then wordlessly kicked out of a Dirkkat zine because I got on Kate's bad side, and attracted the ire of others in her circle like Dani/lalonders, who might be mentioned later. I don't know. This is already so long and I don't think they get vagued in my Medium post and one of the things I want to bring up in regards to them is antisemitism which I simply don't feel qualified to do off the cuff, as a white gentile.

I also think it’s important to note that around this time, most if not all bnfs were now associated with WP either on a contract basis (like writing one or more routes for Pesterquest) or new employees, even the ones causing the most visible and purposeful harassment in the fandom.

Kate started out as a bnf (big name fan) and got hired on as a writer for Pesterquest, then for Homestuck 2, and I think just as official staff? I don't know how What Pumpkin staffing worked. She also co-founded a company, Snake Solutions, with Aysha. Honestly, I can't remember everyone else who turned from bnf to official staff or contracter for PQ. There were several. Sarah Zedig. Pip? Greiver? KC? Dani was a big one (how I first heard about it pictured below), but I don't think this ended up amounting to anything. Could be wrong.

As I mentioned before, I feel ill-equipped to go into depth on them. The most I can say is they rivaled Kate in both popularity and shittiness and, in my opinion, were often used as a shield against transandrophobic/racist criticisms, since they're a black trans masc (correct me if I'm wrong about their specific identity), and the main target for Kate and co's harrassment was a black trans masc. If you know who I'm referencing, you know, but as of now I think I'll stick to vague references for them.

Vriska: I have one million and three problems with Vriska’s route, but keeping on the topic of trans rep and discourse from Pesterquest, Vriska is very heavily coded as a trans girl. Or, at least, she is if you know anything about who wrote her or any of the discourse surrounding Vriska at the time.

Kate wrote Vriska's PQ route. Hussie was going to, but she convinced them to let her do it. This is also I think Kate's first official work for WP. Just for like, idk, timeline context? lol

There’s a difference between prioritizing trans lesbians and actively shitting on trans mascs and “boy likers” to your thousands of followers.

This tweet references Kate qrt'ing and mass harassing a black, newly turned 18, trans girl, who made a post on her twitter account with a tiny following that got maybe a handful of notes about racism she saw in Vast Error. Kate was, I think, the lead writer on Vast Error's visual novel, Snowbound Blood. A huge problem with VE is, at least back then, every fucking ounce of criticism would be found by the creator (I forgot his name tbh) and commented on, usually argued with. It's a big reason why I could never get into it.

The person in question also denies ban evading, and even then, it's not an excuse to put an extremely vulnerable person on blast for the crime of criticizing Vast Error.

The formatting on this one is weird, but I had to get screenshots of the thread because I could only see the linked tweet in discord. Anyway, this is how seriously people treated June. She wasn't just a cool interpretation of a character. How you felt about her was directly linked to how much you cared about trans fems.

Also like, I doubt it was intentional, but the "14 characters" message is, at the very least a terrible coincidence, as references to "14 words" is a white supremecist dog whistle.

It's a "leaked" thread from one of Kate's private twitters. Why do I say "leaked"? Because I personally feel Kate was fucking mad that people enjoyed Trace's Tavros route, which had a better Vriska than what she wrote (in my, and others' opinions). You can see the discord message in question is from months prior, but only got released after Tavros's route came out, and I know she vented about it before then. Also, this private twitter, basically anyone could request to join. I followed it for a little while! But "leaking" it was another excuse to target a previously mentioned black trans masc fan, blaming them for the leak with no proof.

This is not me defending Trace. I don't know shit about him. I don't know if this was a one-off comment taken out of context, or proof of repeated violations. I just know Kate and the discourse she approved of benefited from this being leaked. This one is probably the most speculation vs actual fact I have here, so I guess fitting that it's last.

Anyway. Might reblog with the Gio links for context for Kickstarter/Sarah Z/Aysha shit, but other than that, let me know if there's stuff you want to be expanded on or other shit you want to know!

Since the wider internet is talking about plagiarism I think it's a good time to start talking about art theft/uncredited reposting/etc. as well and I'm particularly going to talk about my experience with it.

Before I say anything else I want to say please don't harass people who may not have a good grasp on internet etiquette! (and please assume that is the case unless someone has intentionally plagiarized/stolen people's work and credited it as their own) That is not what I'm asking you to do and for future reference if someone was excessively rude to you in calling out that you reposted my things I did not endorse that behavior. I do encourage calling out when you see people reposting art and linking back to the original work but I do not encourage harassment. On a similar note, this isn't meant to make anyone feel bad or guilty for not having a good grasp on this particular thing. This is just me explaining how it makes me feel and hopefully get people to understand why it's so hurtful so they don't do it in the future, and maybe they get to me explaining it nicely before other people explain it not-so-nicely LOL.

Some reasons why I personally don't like it when people repost my art even if this particular post is a shitpost and not something I put a whole lot of effort into:

Images get edited and distorted as the meme chain goes on, I have seen this end up with artists feeling like their art that they put a lot of effort into like all that work was a joke. Which, evidently is pretty disrespectful

In a personal anecdote, I have seen people say really rude things about me and the Blazblue community on Tumblr while reposting my things (art and otherwise) on twitter and other social media sites. It's really hurtful that people will disrespect me and my friends while using the bits and pieces they like.

Additionally, not everyone on the internet is familiar with common English-speaking internet terminology and etiquette. What may seem like a compliment or neutral statement for you may be rude to them. Generally speaking, a lot of Japanese artists take great offense to their work being reposted in any way whatsoever. ESPECIALLY if you didn't ask beforehand. People have privated or deleted works or entire accounts over this.

It takes away attention from the artist, and this isn't just people complaining about their art not getting enough likes/reblogs online. I have had my commissions open for months with next to no attention toward it and have periodically given up on promoting, with that in mind I grow more bitter about the fact that my only work that regularly gets attention isn't even representative of my current work but also isn't even attached to my name.

There are a lot more reasons, but it really is just a matter of respecting people who make the content you like and crediting people who make things you like.

If you see art that might be fanart and want to find the original source so you can either share it in a server, ask the artist permission to use it somewhere else, or sort of vigilante credit it for somewhere else, here's some places you can easily reverse search for images or find the artist who drew them (hint: if a work has been deleted it's good practice to still credit the artist)

SauceNAO - especially good for fanart since it's a curation of popular Japanese and western image sharing sites. Works best with full images. Found my art on pixiv and deviantART.

Google Image Search - Unreliable, may work with popular artwork but will probably struggle to find it otherwise, very rarely found my artwork. But probably your better bet for heavily cropped images at least to find the full image and then plug it in sauceNAO

But even then the best practice is if you don't know the source don't repost it until you've found it, and always reblog/retweet/what have you from the original artist before considering reposting it on your own account. Be strict and insistent on asking if people know the source of art they are reposting especially in discord servers and online spaces where it's commonly done.

I didn't know the context, and from what I could see, a lot of people didn't. i understand why it is an insensitive comic even if, from my perspective, it is mostly a bad criticism for a show's constantly misinterpreted message. If it's a huge problem, i can delete it, but i think out of context its pretty far enough removed from the source material to just be a meme redraw spawning from the original tweet, if that makes sense...? correct me if im wrong, though. I'll delete it for real if it causes too much discomfort. The last thing I want is to be insensitive. please just let me know.

Recently I have been feeling like I’m being ‘punished’ for enjoying Kuro because I always see people talking bad about it and Yana on twitter. 😅 I am well aware Kuro has a lot of issues but I really enjoy the characters and such but the opinions of people about the series kind of has been hurting me as a fan and thus I have been losing interest🥲 I was hoping I can talk to someone who is a fan of Kuro that can help give me some mindset or something. I have been drawing for Kuro for years so I’m quite passionate towards the series and Yana herself and but this has been bugging me. If you can’t answer this it is totally okay and you can delete this ask❣️

Hi, anon! That’s not too much at all! My apologies for the late response; I wanted to make sure I could sit down to properly get my thoughts in order before answering.

My love for Kuro was originally (and is to this day) rooted in the source material. The manga and anime introduced me to some of my most beloved fictional characters, including Miss Grelle—as attested to by my url! 😉 The story instantly had me hooked with its campy hijinks, tragic undertones, and forays into the dark corners of the human psyche. Even with the current lag in pacing, I’m excited to see where the Phantomfam’s adventures take us next! And, of course, I would be remiss without mentioning the artwork. In a visual medium like manga, aesthetics can make or break your enjoyment of a series, and Kuro’s Victorian steampunk flair is perfectly suited to my tastes, especially with the steady improvement in quality as Yana’s honed her craft over the years.

However, particularly during this dry season of short chapters and plodding plot progression, it’s the community that grew up around Kuro that nourishes my love for it the most. Naysayers condescendingly sneer that the fandom is dead, but the incredible art, funny memes, awesome animations, excellent fics (some of which outshine published novels I’ve read), insightful meta and more that I see across my dash and in the tags suggest otherwise. And when we come together (such as during past fandom weeks or @anewp0tat0 ‘s recent event to celebrate the 200th chapter) that display of talent burns even brighter. As a writer, building up lore in headcanons and fic or reading my mutual’s creative interpretations of Yana’s world is just as fun—if not more so—than engaging with the actual manga. That enrichment alone is enough to keep me invested in the Kuroverse for the foreseeable future.

The series also holds considerable sentimental value for me because it served as the catalyst for my queer awakening and brought friends and loved ones into my life who I would never have met otherwise. Even if the day comes when I put Kuroshitsuji on the shelf in favor of other stories, that positive impact will remain.

However, that doesn’t mean that the series or fandom are perfect. Yana’s sleazy past and irresponsible pandering to the gross side of the fandom are an unpleasant reality with which we must contend, as are the fujoshis, transphobes, and other creeps—some of whom proved to be a genuine danger to minors—who continue to give us a bad name. But those people who blindly label Kuro as wholesale trash and accuse all fans of condoning the problematic content merely betray their simplistic, black-and-white way of thinking. We cannot and should not sweep the objectionable aspects of the series under the rug, but we can interact with Kuro critically—recognizing and calling out the areas in need of improvement while also cherishing the best parts of this cursed butler manga. As long as you’re consuming media responsibly, and in a way that doesn’t actively harm others, then you have no reason to feel guilty. You sure as heck don’t deserve to be punished!

Ignore the haters as best you can, and try to focus on what first ignited your passion for Kuro; don’t let those jerks steal your joy. 😤 Alternatively, if you need to take a break from that onslaught of negativity and just rest for a bit, that’s fine, too! There’s no shame in stepping away to recharge, and you shouldn’t push yourself to participate in fandom if doing so is detrimental to your well-being.

I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been having a tough time over on the bird app, but I hope my answer was helpful and that Kurohell can continue to be a happy, welcoming place for you! 🖤

I'm constantly going back in my prompts tag to delete old reblogs. BUT THERE ARE STILL, complete strangers who dig through it and reblog it from me. Like?????????? That has the same effect as a 'fuck you' in my DMs. It's 10x funnier, if it is one of those blogs with a long ass pinned/rules page. And they still had no qualms in doing this shit. It's not quirky, let me tell you that much.

Notice, I'm not complaining about not receiving asks whenever I reblog something. That's not an issue for me (mutuals/rp partners should only send stuff, when they genuinely feel like doing so, without any obligations). All I'm asking is to not make me feel like, I'm just a RP memes archive type of blog, that's only there to provide writing prompts & nothing else. I may not be the most active RPer, but none of my blogs are abandoned.

This has been a long running peeve I've been having to deal with, for YEARS. And it made a resurface as of lately.

Jokes aside. It may have been a result of the way I tried watching the classic series (by binge watching the entire thing). BUT when I got to the Hades arc, I got SO mad when I realized they brought back those drawn out battles. Like those were my least enjoyed bits of the early parts of the anime and the Sanctuary arc, meanwhile the Poseidon arc didn't have any of that (which is why I rate the Poseidon arc as my favorite one of the anime adaptation. 15 episodes with NO filler??? HELL YEAH.).

You can say I was already pretty burned, and should have slowed down with the final part of the series. But even then, I don't think that would have changed a thing about my general disinterest towards Hades' servants. Visually speaking to me, they are the messiest and most boring looking characters from the classic series (they only ever wear 1 color and look way too much like a toy, than some form of proper armor).

Rhadama.nthys is the biggest bitch in the club, to me he was the most insufferable. "He is the strongest*tm of all judges." *= only when Hades is straight up cheating and the story feels like unnecessarily drag things out. Reminder that Kanon killed him without any cloth equipped, and he went out the way HE chose to. He literally didn't even have to TRY.

My favorite part of the Hades arc was seeing Kanon wipe the floor, with everyone he crossed paths with. This feels 10x more satisfying, after reading the Destiny & Origins extra chapters.

BUT It is a fact that all antis (ppl who want to be cops/have no qualms with harrassing or policing others/etc.) I've come across are an American, who's way too enthralled in their lil bubble they call world. Then they have a breakdown bc as it turns out, the rest of the world isn't AT ALL like them. And there's genuine pushback/retaliation from the community, against these kinds of whiny bitchass mfers LOL.

Obviously, this doesn't mean the fandom is perfect nor it's an Utopia, where there isn't drama at all. BUT when compared to others, it feels a lot tamer in comparison. Unfortunately, it comes at the cost of coming off as a very closed off fandom, that's centered around overseas things for a change.

my knowledge is that two wolves is generally widely considered fakelore, a christian parable that gets regularly re-written as being told by a "native american chief" or a "cherokee elder", or originating in "cherokee legend". it's very similar to "may you live in interesting times", which is always claimed to be a chinese curse, despite absolutely no traditional chinese sources for that.

imo, making fun of racist old apocryphal shit is always morally correct, but i appreciate how it can come across looking like someone is making fun of indigenous peoples, so i'm happy to clarify. for me the meme format mocks the fact it's not a real "legend" or "indigenous proverb".

in future i would be more direct in your messages because i think i only got the correct gist here because i'm familiar with the "proverb". you haven't informed me of anything with your message, just been sort of vague? if i wasn't aware of the origins i would be confused by your message :')

Author's note: was inspired by this picture below and a result of playing too much bang dream/bandori.. also i rewrote this bc the original one was "being their manager" but i think i'd get more ideas if i changed it to s/o, sooo now we're here :D I might make a pt.2 but im sure it'll be shorter than this

summary: Your s/o whom you knew for the longest time becomes an idol for a band, How would they act?

Ayaka/Vo.

She's also known as "The Kamisato Princess" due to her angelic look :0 The young girl needs lots of encouragement before setting on stage, venti usually helps her with boosting up the confidence last-minute. Her big brother, the infamous ayato also watches her perform, Giving her more the reasons to push thru and make beautiful music.

As for you, She'd be so happy if you watch her !! Its all the assurance she needs. If you're the loud type and you always cheer her on, she gets kinda embarrased but in reality she doesnt mind it that much. After all she does have all sorts of fans. Though she'd prefer to hear your praises after a concert in private, she feels much more comfortable that way.

Speaking of fans, at first she had so much trouble communicating with them, Making her occasionally stutter :( Once you see her look uncomfy while talking to fans, you try to push her away steadily, without making a scene and go in a corner, attempting to soothe her

She actually slowly improves communicating at public events, meetings, etc. because of you <3 let the girl take her time with this, And spend time with her equally. Even after all of what the both of you do, she'll thank you for being by her side. As long as it stays like that, rest assured she'll be happy.

He loves posting on social media, Lots of the content on his account are song covers, pictures you took of him or memes (which is what his supporters love about his account). He interacts with his fans in the comments each time, But ofc there are always haters. He seems like the type to fight back but in reality he just deletes the comment and ignores the account, not wanting a bad image.

He also wrote some of the songs that the band created !! the rest are from different multiple sources

Awards the band members with a glass of wine/juice/drink of choice and some snacks the day after going on a concert. Sometimes brings you with him! He believes it'll give them some motivation to move forward, Which does work most of the time, ...unless he gets drunk and starts scaring them with objects they would not appreciate

One time it was raining outside while they were having an after party at the kamisato estate so while drunk, this mf ran outside and got a FROG into the house and claimed it as his pet. Thoma had lots of trouble trying to find it after venti lost the frog a while after.

She's an amazing role model !!

Like venti, she makes stuff for the band that she doesnt really need to do by herself, but she does it anyway because she adores what she does, the girl picks out outfits for the band i just know she has amazing taste in clothing. She also draws lots of ideas for merch, her designs always impress the other band members and you

She usually asks for your opinion before going on with making merch, creating tunes or just anything that she wants to improve later on. Xinyan trusts you so much with it, even if you dont know much about what she does.

Has so many ideas for her job, She can barely keep track of what she should try to push thru first. Its not like she doesnt enjoy it tho, hell, she loves it‼ Promotes the band's music everywhere, she likes to share it so more people can understand the art of music :))) shes really passionate about it

Chongyun/Dr.

Like ayaka, hes pretty shy on stage too. He's also kinda a perfectionist? When its time to finish rehearsals he still practices at home, thinking it wasnt good enough. If you catch him getting to focused, pls remind him to take a break! He often forgets to take one

Gets stressed pretty easily, he randomly doodles or eats cold food to relax himself. Loves going outside <3 even better if you accompany him, sometimes just going out for a walk gives him enough inspiration.

Super supportive to the rest of the band members ⊹.(⁎˃ᴗ˂⁎). ⊹ He shows it with words tbh, he says its much easier like that. Likes the idea of working together, He believes it'll solve problems much faster and produce more ideas, making the future of the band brighter. He aims for that desire, seeking to make people proud.

He has lots of pets !! He posts lots of pics of them on social media. Speaking of social media, He tries to keep your relationship a secret. Not that he doesnt trust you or anything, he just doesnt like the fact that you might get hated or something. He's aware that he probably wouldnt stand it if his s/o got hate :(

On this blog, I repost the same very popular Tweets dozens of other users have also reposted. My goal is to exclusively embed those Tweets, which automatically adds the accessibility feature that is alt text + a link to the original (with few exceptions in which I write the alt text myself, if I feel like a Tweet is notable enough but has apparently been deleted.)

By doing this, I would like to make those popular posts and memes accessible to more people. I would also like to show to more people that Tweet embeds are an option, to hopefully encourage them to use them in the future.

As a reminder, in order to embed a Tweet, all you have to do is paste its link onto your post.

You can easily copy the link of Tweets on either desktop or the app. (The placement can sometimes change on mobile from update to update, but the option should always be accessible via one of the buttons around your Tweet.)

Then open your fresh tumblr post and paste the link.

If you're sourcing your own brand new Tweet to share to tumblr for any reason, this is arguably quicker and easier to do than taking a screenshot and re-uploading it to tumblr. Please consider this option whenever possible - it's very convenient.

In my case, since my goal is to repost Tweets that are already popular on tumblr, I use Twitter's search function, which works very well (contrary to tumblr's).

If you already have a screenshot with the person's username, unless they deleted their account or changed their username, you're certain to find the original. Of course, this is only needed if you're looking for a Tweet to repost, and you won't need to do this if you just happen into a new Tweet you want to share to tumblr.

I encourage anyone to use this instead of screenshots whenever possible, because it's more convenient than having to type the alt text yourself! Even if you don't usually provide alt text, there's no reason not to let it be automatically written for you when it can be. Plus, it leaves a link to the original Tweet, which I feel like makes it more respectful to the user who wrote the funny joke.

Alt text is an accessibility feature that mostly benefits people who use screen-readers because they, for one reason or another, can't read the words on their screen. Especially when the image is the right size - so the "alt" button doesn't come in the way - as it is automatically generated by pasting the Twitter link, there's no harm in having it there whatsoever. All it does is include more people.

Accessibility isn't a one-size-fits-all. Some users may benefit more from Image descriptions that are written in the body of the post. However, alt text is a commonly accepted and convenient accessibility feature. On top of that, accessibility for the disabled can oftentimes wind up benefiting everyone - for example, being able to click the "alt" button allows people to see the contents of the image even if they have a poor connection and the image won't load. Having a text description of any image also makes it easier to find in the future, even with tumblr's terrible search function.

I hope this post can encourage more people to include alt text and/or image descriptions more often. Even if you don't have time to include alt text all the time, you should take advantage of these embeds, which do it for you. A funny Tweet repost is the type of post to become very popular, so it's sure to land on someone's feed who wishes they could know what it says but can't when it's just an undescribed image.

(PS: as of currently, there is a slight issue in that the contents of described images included in the Tweet, or Tweets being quoted, aren't copied. Now that you know about the Twitter embed option, consider contacting support in one way or another to let them know you'd like these contents to be added to Twitter embeds. It's a really great option for simple text Tweets, and it could easily include even more Tweets. I know you just found out about it, so if you just want to use the function for those text Tweets for now, it's okay - please just consider it!)

Remember how I said there was one that I was questionable on? Yeah, that was the one. It's has now been deleted. After you politely informed me it was indeed the one, I did a google search, couldn't find the original artist to credit, so I deleted it.

Did I do my diligence on it? No. Why? It was posted in 2020 and I didn't do a deep dive of the blog. I don't check every account.

Ravewood was one of the first users I came across when I came back to tumblr last year and was looking for Fairy Tail content. After being on the platform again for a couple of months and getting my toes wet, that's when I took off my rose-colored glasses and realized what they were.

At that point in time, I knew no one in the fandom and was hungry.

An important note about people on the internet: Not everyone is in the loop, not everyone is in social circles, and not everyone sees the warning posts right away, either.

Is it an excuse? Yes, and I acknowledge that and the mistakes I've made.

So, now that you have schooled me, thank you for doing the labor for me.

That tone carries through into this ask.

Do I usually try to make sure I reblog credited art? Yes, and as I learn more about how things should be, like trying to attach the original tags the person put, I adapt.

Do I always catch everything? No, cause I am human and sometimes you just can't do better.

Would I blame someone who reblogged from someone else it if I found out? No. I would let them know that it had been reposted without my consent and ask if they could edit their post to give credit, or take it down and reblog mine.
