Then lastly I found a Mareep(Bonnie) by surprise and kept her.

And yeah that's how I pictured her XDD its becuase I use her the most out of all my Pokémon-
Now she's not bossy and doesn't have a leader or "I'm better that you guys" complex, none of that! She's just very intelligent and usually very level headed and calm. I can imagine that she's gotten the team safely through a lot of complicated situations and her plans/advice have rarely led the group astray.
Plus since I use her so often, I like to think that she's one of the most powerful Pokémon on the team. If not the most powerful. So whenever the group was met with a great danger, Gloria was probably the one to rescue them <XD
So the whole group kind'a gravitates behind her and lets/wants her to take the lead most of the time. Especially when things get complicated or dangerous!

As for your question.. I'm afraid I don't understand/cant explain it--
Lets say I wanna draw Mario. I imagine what the drawing might end up looking like in my head, what pose I'll draw him in and what colors I'll use.. And then I just.. draw it. It might not look exactly like what I pictured but its probably close enough.
If that doesn't answer your question, I'm afraid I either don't understand your question or this is just an art thing that I don't know how to explain. <:( Sorry, feel free to send another ask with more specifics if you have them!

As for the Dry Bones thing, that's what I meant by "not sure how it fits into the AU yet" 😅 Who'd they fight? Why did they fight? When did this happen? No idea. Its all just a neat concept with no structure yet :// And beyond the awkward living situation with the Dry Bones today, I haven't really thought about how the Koopa culture has been changed by the war. That's just way too much thinking and I'm way too sick to bother trying to figure it out atm- 💀💔 But maybe someday I'll think it through!
Now Luigi, I had this idea that he had a bizarre encounter with a 1-UP and was later bitten by a Goomba. Over the span of say... 5 days or so..? Luigi slowly got weaker and weaker until eventually he became bedridden and actually died- He came back to life moments after but it still completely shook Mario and Luigi's worlds for a sec there-
I had intended to draw a comic about this, and I made a sketch about it in the past.. but around the time I thought of this idea my Mario phase was kind'a passing over so I didn't feel like making it- <XDD
As for a potential sequel, I would like to see Wario, Waluigi and Toadsworth. Not sure why Toadsworth wasn't in the first movie- he absolutely should have been. That deep voiced purple..? council..? toad guy?? Totally should have been Toadsworth :/
And my request for the Wario bros is that they are taken seriously. 😅🤣

Hello as someone who did half of a thesis on trans romance novels before realising academia wasn't entirely compatible with my health, I am still VERY excited by romance academia and romance academics. Would you like to talk more about your PhD?
Academia is barely compatible with life, I feel you xD
Basically I'm very interested in interrogating and dismantling the standard hero/heroine language because I don't think that it serves us anymore. The genre has evolved so much that it feels really reductive to say 'this is the hero because it's a man' and vice versa, and that's even before you start considering queer and same sex romance novels. I do believe that the protagonists of a romance novel have different narrative roles! They're just not rooted in gender, or at least not just. For example, it used to be that heroines were always young women who were sexually naive and heroes were older, sexually experienced and aggressive men, and that is demonstrably not true anymore. I'm investigating the functions of the romance protagonists in the romance narrative with the goal of proposing a different classification, so we can finally talk about different relationship constellations within romances with accurate language and understand the actual roles they play better. Figuring out how stories work is one of my favourite things to do both as a writer and an academic, because I love finding the patterns and traditions inherent in storytelling--what does this building block do and where does it come from? Why does it look like that? What happens if you take it away?
Romance scholarship is super fun because there's so much material to discuss and not that many people who are discussing it, but it's also difficult because a lot of the discussion has been trying to defend the genre and scholarship thereof against stereotypes and misogynist dismissals from other fields, so there's not as much foundational material as you often hope. There are so many exciting things happening in the community though! I recently attended the 2023 conference by the International Association for the Scholarship of Popular Romance and had an absolute blast both because the presentations were fascinating and because everybody there was just so bloody lovely. It was so wonderful to be in a room full of people very seriously discussing possessiveness in sports romance or the folkloric themes in KJ Charles novels and never have to justify your interests or preferences.
Popular romance is such a staggeringly wide field and yet so many people have absolutely no idea about how the genre works. Mainstream media and scholarship are so outrightly dismissive of it that the majority of people, even voracious readers!, have such a skewed idea of it that they refuse to interrogate because the image of the white, straight, cis bodice ripper is so ingrained in their head and it never occurs to them that that might be an incomplete picture. It's especially egregious to hear this stuff repeated by fanfiction readers because the line that separates shippy fanfic from romance novels is so thin it's practically imaginary. If somebody only read Game of Thrones and then went on a rant that all fantasy books are horrible and stupid and anyone who reads them must be intellectually inferior, they'd rightfully be called a dick, but people say these things about romance novels all the damn time. Get off your high horse! Acknowledge that women are people and things enjoyed by women have merit! Broaden your horizons! Ask a romance reader for some recommendations and maybe you'll even end up enjoying yourself!

Any tips on how to emulate isat's art style?
Hi!
I am but a humble mimic, I sense there are folks who can tell you more accurate details BUT I also love explaining steps I make while making my own art so I'll tell you how I improvised~!
Firstly, I found the wiki (no, not the Fandom one) for all the references. I tried to study how the characters work and I used a lot of just color picking to get the grayscale hues accurate
The lineart is obviously much thinner than what I went for and it seems to use a crispier brush for it to resemble pixel-esque kind of vibe but I wouldn't know which brush it is, I assume it's a custom/adjusted brush!
What I used was "Real G-Pen™" in Clip Studio Paint!
What's fun about this brush (and superior to G-pen brush) is the fun little texture it has that also resembles some of the crispiness but I think the ISAT one has a much finer texture, to give it the aforementioned pixel like vibe.
The thick line I used was just my preference but if you use Real G-Pen with smaller scale and basically only mild pen pressure, you get similar results to the OG style:
(some of the Sif's images has their lineart thicker in some places to give just a smidge of lineweight feel, enough to work with the depth but I demonstrated here how it looks with basically no pressure applied, it has a bit of that crisp and you can probably get a better one if your canvas was bigger than mine here (just under 1200px lol))
I then color picked from the original images to get the flat colors in!
What I did for shadows is just use the layer set on multiply above all the flat color layers, color pick from the white base gray (that Sif mostly has haha!) and use the that shadow for just about anything. I think I also played around with Overlay in the bigfrin image? you can play with layer settings too and see how it works! You will notice that depending on the mood of the scene in the game and the emotions of the characters take priority over how all of this works.
This isn't 100% as it is in the official artwork but I rolled with it most of the time!
You can throw some adjustments and extras here and there if you want it to resemble the dynamic party portraits even more (the extra line strokes, adding a bit of weight to the line, the white line strokes on clothes and hair...)
You essentially end up with something like this!
For the white outline, you can either copy the base color layer (if it covers the whole form) or the lineart layer but move it under the base color and use the border option:
Regular portraits don't seem to have that outline but I like it a lot personally, it makes the image pop XD
That's basically it! I love how simple and effective it is!
How you stylize the character and how you draw them is all up to you!

hi miss L, i have a spiritual/religious question and i don't know anyone else who could answer it.... since i was a kid i've been attracted to tarot, spirituality, mystical explanations of the worlds workings, astrology, all that good stuff. i never used to connect my spirituality to a single higher power, and i never had any issues with this. for a few years i've been wanting more than just a disturbingly accurate tarot spread and i feel compelled towards god. i'm not sure how to word it honestly! i keep getting messages all around me telling me the saint that watches over me, and that god is there too. so here's my issue.
whenever i reach out and pray or do any kind of ritual or reach out specifically to god or a saint, my life immediately starts going haywire. yesterday i set up a small shrine in my room for my dead kitty since i've been feeling better about her passing and i prayed a little. i asked for sign that i was going in the right direction, and hours after i prayed, our sink plumbing got clogged, my cat (living) ran out and had to be caught, my mom dropped a whole bowl of food, and i wasn't able to pick up groceries bc the bank cards wouldnt work. this never happens in my household, we've been joking that we're cursed. this happens everytime i try to reach out to god. the worst time was when my mom lost her job, dad crashed his car, and i kept having panic attacks out of the blue for a week. i freaked out and took everything i said back and bathed in salt water for hours hoping i could cleanse whatever happened to me. it worked and my life was back to normal the next day.
do you have any advice? i would love to put my trust in a higher power as i've never been religious before, but smthn is going wrong somehow.

i relate to ur background cus i grew up w no religion, my parents didnt talk about any kind of woo-woo stuff, my dads dad was woo-woo AF and my dad haaaaated it so he rejected all of it so i was pree much just a blank slate. but for some reason i was just REALLY obsessed w magical thinking and the like. believed in god spirits nature deities angels demons magic aliens and i was totaly engrossed in ~my secret world~. i was kinda scared of religion tho i viewed it in a bad light since i was learning about it during the george bush post-9/11 era & for some reason my child self was rly interested in consuming critique of america , iraq war / westboro baptist church type stuff , from an outsider's perspective i saw religion as something american people used as justification for committing atrocities & crazy power trips , which, i mean.. anyways
it didnt help me trust God xD but many of my beliefs remained into my teens i just didnt have any outlet for them. so i got into astrology around 15/16, started learning more about tarot & occultish type things, crytstals, all those subjects intrigued me very much. but i felt the same way as you, like, something was still lacking from it, even when i got these super profound tarot readings, or read my birth chart a million times over looking for clues about ~wtf is this stupid life for~ , i never felt safe. never felt assured, never felt i could trust myself or my future. it was an odd period, early 20s. but then kinda same as u, as my knowledge on these topics expanded i started to notice the quality of Holiness a lot more. the more i learned about different religions the more i realized how connected it all was, and how religion connects to "the occult", and magic, light and dark, i find it very hard to put into words. i just started to find myself actually really earnestly believing in God in a way i never thought i could? Like reading the bible & being completely enthralled, i NEVER woulda thought. i started to feel way safer in the world even tho im still not "christian" technicaly. but i believe in jesus now and it makes me feel safe on a cellular level.
i believe the real jesus was wholly non judgemental and loved everyone no matter what, the thing that susses me out about Religious Institutions was always the judgement that can spawn from it. misses the point of everrything in my opinion.
its kinda wild actually cus when i used to be into like, trash reality tv ghost hunting shows, i remember there was one ep where this psychic was talking about how she always prays to jesus for protection before doing a reading or entering a haunted place. that really intrigued me cus i thought jesus and psychic automatically cancelled each other out. i think that moment rly opened up the rabbitehole and it was so mundane like wtf. still rememebr it tho!
sorry im really in a typing mood tonight.. So my next point was gonna be that, just because i started to really believe in god and jesus and really PRAY for protection & guidance, my life did not get easier xD like i would say the past 6 years have been nothing short of a shit show. my life was fucked before that too tho so its hard to compare, but still, its safe to say my shift in perspective actually brought a lot of chaos into mylife. the point of it, i feel, is that i had to dismantle it in order to truly Live in the frequency of trusting God. because this was new to me! i wanted to trust God, i put out the energy of seeking God, and God was like ok hold on tight..
So now i'm here all these years later like, oh yeah God is real and i love him and it's all real. it's CEMENTED into me lol. When i used to say i trust God it still felt like i was asking permission to be able to feel that way. but now i really really do. And messed up stuff will keep happening forever because there needs to be light & dark, there can't b one without the other. But now i have faith in a really personal way that i wld never attempt to transfer onto another like even by talking about these experiences & concepts i still feel like i don't want to prove anything. except that it's worth it to keep trying, i guess :]
and OK this is really just how i feel like take it with a grain of salt , but from what i've gathered, if you believe in energy entities & astral happenings & whatnot, well. it's my opinion that the invisible low frequency parasites that feed on many ppl's dread & fear, when they're attached to u and u begin to raise your vibration, they get very upset and throw a fit. like think of a demon being exorcised, u know, u imagine it having a total fit in a desperate fight for it's life. if ur appeasing the demon and letting it use you then of course it's going to keep things on an even keel, u kno?
taking a salt bath was a good thing to do tho like one of the best things <3 its also good to have crosses or your holy item of choice around the house, light white candles, organize clutter. pray a lot like every time u feel happy and safe or notice something beautiful say thanku to God.. talk to your angels and encourage them i pray a lot specifically to strengthen them, upgrade their armor n shih...i ask them to work for my loved ones, i try to be concentrated on them, visualize them around me all the time, visualize them standing guard outside every door. i feel this kinda stuff increases ur Holy EXP and over time your spiritual armor gets stronger, bad entities move on and things in life start really flow. the trust just has to b there first, and it will be, so long as u allow it <3
it just takes time, and like i said i dont want to prove anything or be The Convincer, but if u were already having feelings to go down this path i recommend not giving up and let God carry u through those tough situations instead of seeing them as an absence of God or God's Wrath. just keep praying cus it can't hurt right, even if it's just a way to occupy your mind with kind thoughts about your friends and family, there's no downside to prayer. its your own journey so u just gotta live it and feel it out ^^ but pls dont feel u are being punished by God or demons or anything else! So many "bad" things that happen end up being neutral or even "good" in the long run. We can never foresee the reasoning behind God's plan ~~~

I've seen you talk a bit about pjo and I'm curious about how you feel about Epic the musical, a musical journey depicting Odysseus' journey home.
I personally quite like it, and frankly, I will continue to, but as someone not as knowledgeable as you in greek mythology, I figured it'd be useful to hear of possible flaws that I missed due to my biases or lack of knowledge.
Hi! Last time I got that ask I'd only heard a few pieces but now I've heard the whole of the available material. As I said in previous asks, I don't gravitate towards pop USA-style media anymore because I had enough already xD That's just a personal preference and it doesn't mean that Greeks generally won't like the musical! I don't know Greeks who have consumed it, tbh, so I don't know their opinion. I think anyone can see the objective value and artistry in this musical.
Like the similar previous ask, I still think that the music would be more appealing to me if it was Greek instruments and styles, but I certainly won't shit on a foreign creator for using their own style of music. Again, it all comes down to personal preference. The lyrics were a bit plain for me, too. Compared to the poetry of the original, this musical feels oversimplified.
Not that it doesn't take talent to create a whole musical like this. As always, I recognize the years of effort the creator took to finish each and every piece, and people can certainly be creative with the Greek myths. The creator tried to be as accurate as possible, hitting all the bits of the original myth and considering many touching moments, which I appreciate a lot. The dialogue between the characters made sense.
I heard it all from beginning to end, which means I enjoyed it enough. My favourite pieces are Survive, Done For, Hold Them Down and King. I also liked the Just a Man, Warrior of the Mind, Remember them, Charybdis, God Games, Get in the Water, I Can't Help But Wonder ("My son I'm finally home!" was so good!!).
There is one inaccuracy about Polyphemos and Poseidon. I'm not as knowledgeable as I'd like to be and there might be mistakes still, but I don't remember this happening like this in the text. In the original, Poseidon wanted to punish Odysseus because he dared to hurt his son, not because he didn't kill his son. In the musical Poseidon blames Odysseus because he didn't completely eliminate Polyphemos.
In God Games, Ares also accuses Odysseus of not killing Polyphemus and Scylla, which was definitely not a problem in the story. Also, the gods normally don't have a fight to convince Zeus that Odysseus should leave Circe. I read again Book Κ (10) of Odyssey and didn't see it at all.
Also it was Odysseus sailors that opened the bags, it wasn't Odysseus himself. Perhaps the creator wanted to combine events and save time, and show Odysseus cleverness. I don't mind this creative liberty although I much prefer the point of the original. The Polyphemous thing annoyed me a lot though 😅

I didn't draw their height accurately here; when I rewatched their scenes, I forgot that when Rayvis is kneeling he's almost the same height as Dagan. but I really wanted to do this pose with them c:
below are some thoughts and headcanons. I finished the game a few weeks ago and have been sitting on all this, lol. Rayvis, Dagan and Santari were all interesting and well-written characters; I loved them! spoilers for Jedi: Survivor ahead:

you know how much I love the king and lionheart trope! so you can imagine my excitement when I discovered Dagan and Rayvis' story! they're a wonderful example of it. and I am so predictable.
Rayvis waited for him for 200 years. didn't stop looking for him, and killed a lot of people in the process of trying to find him. by the time we meet Rayvis in game, he's this weary warrior who wants to stop fighting. the years of not having Dagan by his side must've been so lonely and wore him down emotionally. I immediately thought of Christina Perri's A Thousand Years. ughhh my heart
the oath scene. wow, lots to unpack here, this is the scene that got me shipping them:
it implies that whenever Rayvis is talking about something personal, he kneels. which makes them eye level to each other and visually shows them as equals. and we get to see this compelling scene:
Rayvis: "The galaxy has changed. There are many wars, but little honor to be won from them."
Dagan: "Once we are on Tanalorr, perhaps we can dream up a new war, you and I."
Dagan sees a future with Rayvis. and though Rayvis seemed to be considering the offer, I interpreted his reaction to him, and eventually to Cal, as him not feeling the same way.
I feel like Rayvis is not just talking about the galaxy, but also about himself. he ages differently; he's been through a lot while Dagan was in the bacta. Dagan didn't go through that period where he wasn't with his old friend. I wish we got a scene where they talk about this - but that's what fic and art is for xD
I think part of the reason Rayvis forces Cal to kill him is because if he doesn't, the only other Jedi who can is Dagan. and that might be a fate worse than imprisonment for him
I'd like to think Dagan calls him Ray sometimes

if you dont mind me asking, how much is your eggman shrine worth (in pounds)??? not meaning to be nosy, i just want to make a collection of a character myself and idk how much money to put aside for it!!! thank you!
oh god I'm not sure because I don't keep individual track of how many pieces I have in my collection! reminds me that I really should make a list and count the next time I take the entire thing down to rearrange again and maybe add price estimates. I can't trust myself to count them accurately when they're all squeezed together like this XD
I can say at least £1000, maybe a bit more but I can't imagine too much more than that. many of the pieces I got were around £20 at the lower end, £50/60 on the higher end and the highest I've spent on a piece was £150ish, so I think it all adds up to about that much. I don't remember a bunch as I've been collecting since 2010 and some of the prices increased since I got them.
sorry that I can only give a rough estimate. it really depends on what kind of merch you're seeking of the character and also where you're getting it from. unfortunately all of my favorite Eggman merch is older and rare and often costs me a lot for that. also the way most merch of him is only in the US and the import charges for shipping here, or other places another times, can get crazy
if you're getting merch of a character that actually has the stuff you want still in production, within your country, widely available and not rare, it could be quite a bit less depending on what you want. I was just doomed to have the most expensive tastes because I love Eggman who has a lot of rare merchandise as it's often stocked much less than other characters lol
sorry that I couldn't be more precise, some time in the future I'll try to give a more certain reference when I have the spoons to rearrange it again and calculate it properly but hopefully this might help a little in you making a decision. good luck with collecting and building your own shrine! may it be as big and beautiful as mine hehe

lol I'm happy to encourage posting, although I don't think I'm the best expert on what's a "popular" tag since half the time I tag like a feral racoon trying to catalogue different genres of garbage I'm gnawing on. Ultimately, though, tagging shouldn't be about what's popular anyways - you should always aim to tag accurately as opposed to what will get attention, since the tags are there to warn/advertise what's in the fic itself. Especially important for any sensitive topics that you might cover. (I also usually include content warnings in my fic notes, too, just to be sure, but I'm overly cautious lol). Aiming to tag as much of what's actually in your fic as possible is usually a good rule of thumb.
If you're not sure what tags would apply or what to call them, then you can usually just glance through the tags on other fics to see what people use and check that against what's in your fic. That usually gives me some ideas!
The only other tagging advice I have is: don't worry about "spoiling" things that happen. The tags are kinda supposed to do that, and people that don't want spoilers won't read them, but people who want or NEED the spoilers need those tags to be accurate so they can take care of themselves in what they read. Again, this is more important with sensitive topics, but even if it's just fluff or smut, some people don't like that, and tagging it correctly helps them curate their experience.

Jodie "Bell" Hall (BOCW OC)
After the events of the campaign, Jodie couldn't quite drop the English accent she'd gained from the hours of speaking with Park; however, depending on her state, her original Russian accent might slip through. For example, if she is very sleepy, the English accent slowly fades and she'll speak at you in a mild Russian accent. On the other hand, if someone angers her, it can slip through then, too.
I based this off the fact that when I get angry, my northern accent breaks on through my usually not-so-northern accent; I thought that it would make some sense that her accent shifts or fluctuates as the English accent was never hers to begin with, it's just something she picked up from Park.
Her brother was four years younger than her, making her an older sister.
She carries a booklet of sudoku, crossword and other puzzles with her everywhere she goes. It occupies her mind and keeps the noise in her head down - she also finds that it reminds her of cryptography, which is something Canon Bell is said to be good at. It's a tattered book and sometimes she scribbles in the margins different encoding patterns and such. It's basically something to keep her mind from falling in on itself.
I might be cheeky in admitting this, but that little snippet was actually inspired by another creator; a thought was sparked and then it turned into this idea that Jodie often keeps her skills sharp by occupying her brain with these kinds of things.

Franca "Major" Lorenzetti (MW OC)
Her middle name is Viola.
2. She has a family that she no longer speaks with, due to differing opinions on her choice to join the army; her father was extremely traditional and essentially forbade her joining and wanted her to focus on finding someone, settling down and having a family. You know, old traditional views that were not made to suit her. Her family are as follows:
Antonio, 60: Father.
Alessandra, 55: Mother.
Carlotta, 34: Sister.
Vincenzo (otherwise known as Vinnie), 22: brother.
Later on in her life, after she has joined the military and become well established, her brother turns up on her door having been 'banished' like she had, and they have a tearful reunion. She loves her brother a lot and would do anything for him. The rest of her family though? She doesn't really talk about them much and if you were to ask her about them, she'd probably just stare at you until you left her alone.
3. Franca joined the Royal Army Medical Corps, becoming a Combat Medic. She rose through the ranks to RSM/WO1 - Regimental Sergeant Major/Warrant Officer. This associated rank is where her nickname came from, 'Major'.
I actually tried to make the rank as accurate as possible, as I think different regiments and military organisations call them different things.

Her maiden name was 'Oakley'.
Her dad is from Cornwall and her mum from the Midlands, so she every so often she has a little bit of a Cornish accent. It's really cute but sounds like a farmer sometimes.
She works at the primary school on the army base that she lives at. She's a teaching assistant and takes care of the children like they were her own! Oh- and her own does go to the nursery at the primary school - she has wee little lass with her husband, Soap, and she adores the girl so much.
BONUS: I don't have many facts for Nanette in the MW world, because most of the work I've done with her came about when I was planning a fantasy medieval au for Franca and Ghost. sigh. I ended up making that au about her and Soap, her knight in shining armour-ish.

But I come here with an actual question about AU that I thought because of the latest chapter haha! What would you say are the insecurities and other stuff that Robin would share with Sun and Moon vs what they share with Eclipse? Like what type would they rather have Eclipse listen to that they wouldn't feel that good expressing to the boys and vice versa?
(Rest assured I reread comments religiously I do remind myself through those! It's like body positivity vs body neutrality to me maybe? Hard to really look at it as more than just my way to have fun, yknow?)
I think it's less of a clear cut "this they only discuss with Sun/Moon, and this only with Eclipse" - as always, I make it complicated!
It depends a good bunch on what kind of reaction Y/N would want - like with the example from Fragile!
Y/N's fear: Sun and Moon leaving them, for whatever reason, and being alone again. Which is to say the fear of being rejected and ending up isolated.
Sun/Moon's reaction: We would never, we would move heaven and earth to stay with you, nothing will ever make us leave you, we love you!
Eclipse's reaction: Dude, yeah, I get that. It sucks. Every day there's that nagging feeling that today could be it, everything just catching up to you, and then you already know what it's like to not be alone and it just sucks even worse now that you know the alternative
Y/N needs reassurance often enough, to hear that yes, the boys want to stay with them, and will interfere even when circumstances try to separate them.
But sometimes.. Sometimes the reassurance doesn't help. Sometimes hearing "we would never!" just makes you feel worse, because now you feel silly for being scared, when anxiety isn't rational! That's when they need someone who understands, who has those fears, too, and who can tell them "you're not alone in this, and it sucks that you feel like this"
(on a similar note, Eclipse starts sending blueprints and gadgets to Y/N, because he wants them safe, too, but also because apparently being too blasé about injuries runs in the family, and he knows that Sun and Moon don't take the risk seriously enough sometimes. He knows Y/N wants them safe though, too, so he knows if he sends them the stuff, Y/N will make sure that Sun/Moon leave the house only appropriately decked out in security gadgets)
Reassurances about their job Y/N mainly seeks with Sun/ Moon, since they see them in action, and can make accurate judgements about what supervisors might think and how they did on a certain mission.
But if it's just to talk smack about fellow agents that just don't get how to have fun? (Because Sun and Moon pretend they're serious, despite their gimmicks) Someone made a stupid comment that says nothing about their actual talent and expertise? Then they go to Eclipse, because he makes it just so much funnier and shares some stories of his own (which is good for him, too, and reassures him that being eccentric is not just a him thing. Y/N plays up Sun and Moon's little theatrics, too, just for him)
Even between Sun and Moon there's differences - Sun is a lot more action oriented, and will gladly help propose contingency plans and solutions. Moon is a lot more laid-back, and an avid defender of "sleep on it" and ready to hold them for more emotional support.
Not to say that the boys only have those tactics - they adapt, of course. Some problems can't be advised away, or slept away. They just fumble a lot more out of their comfort zone, but they do try!

The thing is, it's very hard to say specifically what other anxieties Y/N might share with whom - because their reactions are always different, and there's many anxieties to have, with different needs regarding the reassurance and validation. Without a direct example it would become much too broad, and my brain won't actually let me think about more that I could break up like the one above. But! If you have any specific thoughts you're of course welcome to ask about those specifically, I'm just really bad at thinking about stuff without prompting fghdjs

Abbott Elementary Episode 4: Smoking!! I lowkey forgot Abbott aired last night till I saw a clip of it on YouTube earlier, I believe lol. I watched it earlier today and did not liveblog it, but I'm here to talk about it a bit now!
Not much though, because it's late and I had a show tonight, and more tomorrow and Saturday lol.
The fact that they were discouraging substances while all actively using substances is hilarious xDDD It's not where I was expecting that to go lol! Idk what I was expecting, but not that xD
I'm glad it really talked about how broken the system is. I hope that kid doesn't get suspended <3.
Also the jokes the kids made about their vices were wild 💀. That dust bowl was out of control XDD Iconic all around though lol
I'm glad Jacob decided to give up vaping lol, good for him :') <3. Out of all of them his was honestly the most actually harmful lol.
Even though I don't love the detail that he vapes (mostly because you'd think being against it would be one of his many liberal policies lol), I really love that it brought back that smoking comment from the pilot!! Also I can totally spin this into a vices from deep anxiety thing which is lovely lol. Also the air bit was hilarious xD
Anyway they're all idiots but I do love them all lol <33
Also Janine was wild with that teacher lol 💀. I do think there were some things she was right about (like. the literal education parts lol) but dang girl xD love that the sub did not care at all lol
Unrelated but I love Jacob immediately blaming Morton for the smoking lol xD
Anyway seeing them all being chill at the end was great xD. Like Barbara trying the oil, Jacob quitting, etc lol. Good for them :).
This episode caught me off guard a bit, especially since I don't use substances, but I kinda like that, once again! This season is really throwing me off my game in the best way possible - we all need to be made uncomfortable sometimes to learn stuff :). This episode it wasn't too much, because I don't disrespect anyone who uses drugs (of the safe kind), but since I don't it's still a view into the other side.
Also Gregory's was so him xD. Honestly all of them lol - Janine's makes so much sense in hindsight (also Gregory's comment to her about like "Did you smoke last night" 💀 XDD iconic lol), Melissa's (and her smoking background - which by the way, the comments about that were funny too lol) made sense, Barbara's was- yeah xD, her lol, we basically already knew about Ava xD. And of course Jacob's is a callback lol! And it does kinda make sense for him, even if I thought he would know. I mean hey, we do things we know are bad all the time lol, and nobody can resist everything. Also I think I'm in partial denial because I don't want him to have gone through what it puts you through lol xD. Anyway, they were all super accurate :D.
I loved this episode!! I thought it was really great and I'm so excited for the next one :D. I am also utterly terrified :). Help me please :'). The title and description are scaring me and I swear to goodness they better be a mislead. I think they probably are but still xD.

I feel like people find you intimidating because you're confident and because you have firm boundaries and will quickly block people for crossing them or being assholes? All of those are good things, but communicating online is hard and there's a lot of room for misunderstandings. I've seen people being frightened of people who interact with randos and first-offense block assholes, not because they intend to say anything assholish, but because they're afraid of accidentally saying something that reads differently than they expected and never having a chance to apologize or continue to interact.
Also so many people who interact with a lot of randos are entirely terrified of the people following them and that's extremely unhealthy but it's so much the norm that someone who isn't afraid of the opinions of their followers can stand out as some kind of iron-willed badass. That may also contribute.
I mean. That tracks, all of that is accurate. I've been on the internet for a long time and my boundaries are extremely well fortified at this point. Tumblr and fandom broadly are a huge part of my life, so imo the safety rails are necessary. I do recall being younger and less aware of that necessity, and it was much less fun.
But also, I cannot overstate how people cannot control my blocking, lmao. I think the last person I blocked was on one of my How To Read Whomstve posts talking about Well Actually The Epilogues Where Good And yadda yadda i blocked them, because funnily enough I don't think we need to interact further. XD I don't think I'd like their content and they wouldn't like mine.
The idea of being an iron-willed badass is fun but also a little sad. People who make you uncomfortable in fandom have no right to access to you, and once you start ignoring or blocking the folks who incite that reaction, you will be demonstrably happier.
All of these are not easy lessons. I had to go through a lot of fucking vicious harassment before I learned. Hell, the harassment I got from sw/amp wi/zard and their cronies last go-around shoved me back in the fucking closet. That ain't no joke and it sucked. So, we learn from that shit, hopefully. I just hope everyone else out there gets to learn it without the vaguely traumatic harassment campaigns. That'd be sweet.
One more thing: I know a lot of people feel more comfortable using anon to send messages. I leave it on for that reason. But I do want everyone to know that when you use anon, you are assuming the same greyface of every person who has sent me suicide baiting and threats and harassment. There is inherent baggage to hitting that 'anon' switch that you are opting into. I've said before that Anon Isn't. It isn't "anonymous," there is a collective identity to it. So I am more likely to nuke someone sending me a bad anon message.
On the flipside, when you sign the message and don't use anon, you both enable me to reply to you privately if that is more appropriate/comfortable to me, and you automatically get a cache of Good Faith that you absolutely do not get from being anon. I don't expect explaining this will cause ppl to collectively stop using anon, but I think it's important context to keep in mind.

I listen to instrumental music, whatever I find on youtube. I can't listen to music with lyrics (at least not in languages I understand) because that distracts me from writing, but I also can't write in silence.

Okay, so I heard you wanted to answer some questions so...How about 2, 4, 7, 16, 23, 56, and 73?
(Sorry if it's a lot, you don't have to answer them all if you don't want)
2. Do you plan each chapter ahead or write as you go?
Most of the time I write chapters and then determine the order and/or if I have to break it into multiple chapters. Sometimes I play scrapbook with random bits of writing I have and put those into a more cohesive chapter. Frequently, I’ll have a plan for like a set of chapters as far as what I want them to be. So a bit of both I guess.
4. Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?
Everything?… I mean for starters I have a list that’s made up of words I come across and think I can use later. Sometimes I’ll experience something and it’ll spur a writing section like tasting iron and writing a whole segment on blood. The most random things may inspire me to use as a description or metaphor like watching grass on the side of the road get pushed by the wind. Sometimes quotes from movies I’m watching or elsewhere inspire me. Sometimes an idea comes directly from a person intentionally or unintentionally. Comments can often spark something. Watching old dsmp streams for research is when I’ll sometimes catch a detail I didn’t before. Reading other fics can fuel new ideas. And sometimes I’m just delirious at 3am and decide that Quackity should crucify Dream… XD
7. How do you choose which POV to write from?
It’s usually framed by the story or idea and often because I have specific thoughts I want the character to have.
16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
Good question, which I answered here. It seems great minds think alike.
23. Best writing advice for other writers?
Not sure I have any business giving advice since I’ve only been writing fanfics for about a year now. But I’ll say this, don’t push yourself into writing if you can’t. Writers block happens and inspiration or creativity aren’t always available, which is ok. Those skills aren’t concrete like being able to pull out your calculator and do math or drive a car or brush your teeth. It’s a process and it comes and goes. I think everyone goes through it in one sense or another, but that doesn’t mean you have to let it beat you. Understand it is inevitable so no need to panic or apologize or give up. Instead, read other people’s works, talk to other writers for ideas, go enjoy life or any of the things I mentioned in 4. Inspiration will come again.
56. What’s something about your writing that you pride yourself on?
I’d say it’s hard for me to pride myself in general. I write because I enjoy it not because I necessarily think it’s good (that requires confidence, which I don’t have XD) I’ve been told that my descriptions are very captivating and help the reader feel and see it in their mind, so probably that. People also tend to appreciate my dialogue which I try to make as real and accurate as possible even if that means lots of stuttering and filler words.
73. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works?
My insanity?…. Lol I mean, come on who else is writing hopscotch torture or making nutrition labels for their works? XD… For real though, I think my more flowery poetic style of writing isn’t standard. Someone once accused my chapter of being written by AI which I thought was both highly insulting and hilarious, because honestly my writing doesn’t follow the laws of grammar or story telling, like what do you mean you think a robot wrote this nonsense lol. ;)

Do you write in order?
LMAO NO. Very occasionally I'll sit down and bang out a story from start to finish in order, but it's a very, very rare occurrence. Most often I write completely out of order, by means of "thought of a scene, wrote it down, yeeted it somewhere in a loose approximation of where it might go in the non-existent outline." Actual proper outlining only happens once something gets over like, 20K. Small fics will sometimes get a very loose outline but it's usually just 3-5 bullet points.
Heck, even single scenes that get too long (looking at you smut scenes) get written out of order sometimes. My brain does not like doing things linearly so I just let it do as it pleases lol.
How fully formed does your writing come out the first try?
Ehh, it really depends on what I'm writing? I'd say decently fully formed, especially for prompts and single scenes, but every now and then I'll write something that's just chock-full of "come back to this" or "edit this" notes. I'm a very big believer in "write anything down to get over the block" and usually it works.
How many drafts do you go through?
For most things, two-three, although I don't really think of them in terms of drafts. I write a thing, then I edit. Usually read through and edit a second time as well, especially because my editing process usually adds a lot (anywhere from 1-10K to a fic, depending on how long it is and how many scenes I've forgotten to write lmao).
With much longer fics (like my two 90K WIPs), it's not really set in stone 'first draft second draft' etc, but things change and get shifted around a whole lot before it's done. I'm not a concrete plotter, which tends to mean things shift a lot.
Tell me about your process.
I get a stupid idea, I write a scene for it, and then it spirals out of control XD
But actually, that's pretty accurate. I have many many fics that came out of a single prompt scene and then grew to anywhere from 10 to 90 thousand words. I adore prompts, and they give me so many ideas and I want to write all of them. I am also Full of Feelings, so I tend to get a lot of emotions and ideas about sad plot points and then I want to write them.
I write a lot of scenes around people doing mundane things, and if I'm stuck, I always start with dialogue. Dialogue is my fav and comes easily most of the time.
In terms of technical settings (stole this because it's fun): Microsoft Word for me in terms of actual writing programs! I use Google Docs for collaboration, but it's not my fav. Also I'm a gremlin and VERY FREQUENTLY write directly into a discord channel (on my phone or laptop) so that I can inflict the WIP snippet onto my pals. Thank u pals who let me do this, I love u

It's super rare to see someone interpret him normally, without falling into either "uwu soft baby who did nothing wrong" or "insane freak without a sense of morality who loves to commit arson for the fun of it". I think his behavior in the prologue of sdr2 is the most accurate version of him

His "huh?" in the 4th trial... I just find it pretty funny. The "Am I allowed to speak now?" also deserves mentioning. All his other memorable lines are SO memed in the fandom that I kinda even find them annoying lol xD

This is super predictable and basic but,,, hope by Jack Stauber. Ik the song is about addiction but it also fits Komaeda's relationship with hope. I mean, it is the thing that "keeps him going everyday" right? Also maaaaybe "pretty cvnt" (hate the name) but only because I feel like the lyrics could kinda be similar to Komaeda's self hatred lol.
