Have you shared your Dashcon memories?
In the generous assumption that this ask is in good faith (cheers to you for asking off anon! ) I have.
My dashcon tag is #ballpit dramacon , I've not bothered to reread it so who knows what cringe lurks in there- it's been 10 years!
The tldr version is that honestly my experience wasn't that much different from any other first year con I've risked doing artist alley at. Maybe a lack of signage. Kinda remember it was unclear which tables were assigned to who, since the overhyped separate dealer's room and artist alley ended up being half of one ballroom.
We did better than most vendors - it was one of the first times I sold my handmade plush, and my partner was selling flower crowns at the height of Hannigram UwU edits. It is not and will not be the only show we've done where the projected attendance numbers did not line up with a depressingly empty dealer's room day of. As a vendor you spend 90% of any given show trapped behind your table. Lucky for us Dashcon imploded after dealer's hall hours! I think I was in a wtnv related panel when the whole round-everyone-into-main-events we need 1700 panic thing happened.
As I've said before and will stand by, the vibes of the actual attendees were great. Dashcon for all it's failures had the absolute lowest creep factor of any show I've ever attended, as a vendor or otherwise. No hentai face shirts, no weird dude hovering over my table and juuust skirting the line of behavior that could justify asking them to leave. I wish more cons had that.
The con runners were a shitshow who handled absolutely nothing with grace and tranquility and from what I was able to gather after the fact shoved most of the actual work and responsibilities (hotel contracts etc) onto a 19 year old. The attendees were just trying to make the most of it and enjoy the convention as best they could. They made the same gamble that anyone choosing to go to a first time con makes.
If I remember correctly there was a first year con that same year that ended up being in open air shelters or the animal barns on an abandoned fairground. Yikes.
Anyway, I digress. I made friends, I made money, I made memes.
I am somewhat amazed at the gullible nature of the internet in general because one of the rumors at the time was that there were tsetse flies in the ballpit. tsetse flies. African sleeping sickness pests in an upscale hotel in the middle of fucking illinois, somehow brought in via inflatable kiddy pool. C'mon, the pool was clearly made in China! Can we at least keep to the same continent with our inflammatory nonsense? Or maybe Tarantulas, those are a classic for "came in with the fruit" scare stories.
So that's some of my dashcon memories for you. The ballpit will live on in infamy but... not all that interesting and in my opinion if wasn't the nerdy queer neurodivergent teenage girl venn diagram convention no one would have given a shit about it 10 years on.

If you had to headcanon the aot charas from states, where would they be from and why [are you basing it off their vibe/ or canon personalities?]
Okay some of them actually stumped me for a bit, but here we go!! I mostly went with ~vibe~ from staring at a Map of the US!!
Levi: He strikes me as a northern city boy, braving tough streets and dreary weather. I’d say he’d be a New Yorker or maybe from Illinois! Could even be New Jersey! Somewhere with rough streets and gangs! Imagine him with a cute accent!!
Erwin: A sun-kissed country boy! Not too far from a bigger city, but he definitely grew up around farms! I don’t think he’d be too far south, but definitely spent most of his youth bailing hay at one of the farms for some extra cash! That’s how he’s so beefy!! I’d say he’s either from Missouri or one of the Virginias!!
Hange: This one’s difficult, but I picture them as a country bumpkin from the Deep South, maybe Florida, but they move to California as soon as they’re old enough to be independent!! Basically running away from home!! They want a new experience!! And people are so much more accepting there!!
Eren, Armin, Mikasa: These three grew up together, so I have to do them as a group!! I picture them growing up in a city, but not somewhere nearly as rough as Levi. Somewhere with nice suburbs, a good school district and a community library!! But also somewhere with forests and hills to adventure in!! I’d say somewhere in Pennsylvania!! (Also so Armin can not have seen the ocean, but desperately want to)
Connie: FLORIDA!! Some of the most hilarious people I’ve ever met have been from Florida!! He definitely grew up near the coast taunting those weird little lizards that are everywhere!
Sasha: You know she’s a country girl!! Grew up on a farm, no where near a big city! I’d say Nebraska!! She strikes me as a farm girl, but also the type to have dealt with hard winters!
Jean: He pretends to be a big city boy, but he actually grew up in the middle of nowhere. It wasn’t really farm lands, just emptiness and his tiny little home town. I’d say Michigan!!
Reiner: For some reason I’m picturing him somewhere far north, where it gets really cold during the winter. He’s so sturdy he’s completely resilient to the cold weather!! I’d say Maine or Vermont!
Zeke: He grew up in a big city for sure, but somewhere not far from the coast!! I picture him as some-what of a warm weather boy, so maybe one of the Carolinas?
Miche: Same as Erwin!! The farm he worked on was owned by Miche’s family so they became friends!!
Onyonkapon: I want to hear him with a cute Mississippi accent so bad, so I’m saying there for only that reason!!
Moblit: California!!! They meet Hange there!! He’s socially anxious so he spends a lot of time at the beach, casually drawing people as they pass and the shifting environment!! He can surf!!
Gabi and Falco (and Colt): These two grew up together too!! Somewhere with nicer suburbs and near a relatively large city, but they live more on the outskirts!! Somewhere relatively close to Reiner too! I’d say Massachusetts!!
Floch: Ohio.

Taeil: Maryland, like from a beach city in Maryland. Like he just gives me east coast beach town vibes. Like a coastal boy but he's humble.
Johnny: Of course Illinois, where he's from but hear me out. Cleveland, Ohio.
Taeyong: Oregon, just a quaint north west boy not a big city, just small town in Oregon.
Yuta: Las Vegas, Nevada, I don't know why I just see him being from Vegas
Doyoung: Vermont but moves to Massachusetts for school and work. Refuses to go New Jersey.
Kun: Massachusetts, went to Harvard but decided to branch out and go to Yale Law, yes Connecticut was branching out. And he settles down in Connecticut with a psychiatric practice. Moved to New York as an editor for Esquire magazine for a year after Law School though.
Ten: lived in Reno, Nevada for a portion of his childhood and spent his teens in LA. Will never go back to Reno.
Jaehyun: New Jersey, yes he lived in Connecticut but like he has strong New Jersey vibes. Maybe even Rhode Island.
Winwin: Salt Lake City, Utah. A big city in the middle of nowhere is just his energy.
Jungwoo: Laguna Beach, California, he gives strong Orange County vibes. specifically Orange County probably worked in a surf shop.
Mark: Sacramento, California its just somewhere the little brother in a 2000s Disney channel show would be. And that's exactly what Mark is.
Xiaojun: New York, but upstate New York, like Syracuse or Buffalo not a big city but not a small town just right in the middle.
Hendery: Florida, specifically North Florida either Gainesville or Ocala. Maybe Tampa in central Florida. Definitely not South Florida but maybe the Keys. Strong Florida Man vibes.
Renjun: Virginia, somewhere that looks very colonial but also similar to a quaint small town like Stars Hollow in the Gilmore Girls, but there's a slight tinge of southerness, the cusp of the south.
Jeno: Texas, no I will not elaborate he looks like he's from Texas. Definitely not Houston, Austin or Dallas well... maybe Dallas. But for sure Fort Worth or Arlington.
Haechan: Louisiana, I can't explain it something about him just screams Louisiana, not New Orleans though but Baton Rouge.
Jaemin: Hawaii, I can just see him being born and raised in Hawaii and loving it and respecting Hawaii's land and traditions and fitting in so well.
Yangyang: North Carolina , he has strong feral southern energy. Maybe Raleigh but definitely not Charlotte.
Shotaro: Atlanta, Georgia, he is a southern boy, that is all I have to say. Just a sweet southern boy who you want to make cornbread, collard greens, and sweet potato pie for.
Sungchan: Pennsylvania, just look at him. he looks like he'd be from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, lived in the suburbs and goes to Penn State.
Chenle: Washington, DC that's where the president lives, Chenle's the president. But Originally from Fairfax, Virginia and he just moved a little up toward DC.
Jisung: Seattle, Washington, I can just vividly see him in Seattle, it just makes sense for him.

(Implied Lers Edd and Tom and lees Tord and Matt)

”Drunk off your ass and hangry at 3 o’clock in the morning in the middle of nowhere?! Check out Casey’s General Store in Galena, Illinois, they have-”
The loud video blared in Edd’s headphones as he was kept awake by his next-door neighbors. The only problem with the new living arrangements was the fact that his room, right where his bed frame was, was pressed right up against Tom’s room on the other side, meaning he could hear every activity him and his ginger boyfriend got up to. Granted, they were his friends, so it was easy to forgive them, but this late at night he wanted to go over there and blare the loudest song he could find until they got the hint.
Thankfully tonight it was only Matt’s squealing laughter that was seeping into his room, sparing him from unholy imagery that could have possibly entered his mind, but at the same time, he knew this mean it’d be hours before they stopped, with Matt’s stamina and the possibility of him fighting back, resulting in the two stubborn men locked in a tickle fight that could keep Edd awake until morning.
He sighed as the video ended all too quickly, bringing him back to the loud squeals filling his bedroom and forcing him to stay awake. He had half a mind to ask to switch with Tord, but he couldn’t subject him to this so soon after letting him stay.
Finally, he got up, quietly walking out into the living room for at least a while, until the two quieted down, moving slowly and carefully not to wake Tord. However, to his surprise, that was unneeded as the smaller was awake as well.
“Tord?”
“Oh, Edd, I didn’t think you’d be awake, still…” The man on the couch sat up as the brunette entered the room.
“Tom and Matt are keeping me awake. What about you? You never seemed like a night owl to me.”
“Ah, you know, it’s hard sleeping in a new place… especially after learning about what happened…”
“Yeah, I get it. I mean, I wouldn’t be able to sleep either. I mean, hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if all this is helping to keep me awake.”
“Yeah, it almost seems unreal, in a way. Like it’s just a dream. It’s so hard to believe…”
“How do you think I feel? With you returning after I was so sure the real you had been… well, awful, and then killed in the explosion-”
“Wait, I thought you said I caused the explosion?” Tord interrupted him.
“Uh, different explosion, Tom shot the giant robot with a harpoon.”
“Where the hell did he get harpoons from?”
“He sold the couch to buy them.”
“I… I don’t even know what to say to that…”
“Just don’t say ‘Classic stupid Tom’, because that’s what the Tord clone said, and I can’t promise I can save you from Tom.”
“Ah, flashbacks?”
“Well, that and we’re all a little on the fence about trusting you… n-no offense or anything but-”
“No no, I get it. I’d be hesitant to trust me, too. After all, you were all so sure I’d turned to the dark side or something and had a massive bounty on my head. I just wish there was something, something to definitively prove I’m the real me and the other was just a clone…”
“Well…” Edd began, trailing off and trying to get his thoughts together before continuing, “You do seem more… Tord, than that other Tord. Your hair is messier, you sound more like yourself. And you just have this kind of… I don’t know… Tordly vibe?”
“Pft- ‘Tordly vibe’?” the smaller snorted at the wording, bursting into a giggle fit.
“Listen, I couldn't think of anything better to say!” Edd defended, poking at him, making him just barely squeak and flinch away.
“Ohokay, I get it! Jeez, English is my second language, how am I better at it than you?”
“Hey! Just. Because. I’m. A. Little. Slow. Doesn’t. Mean. You. Can. Make. Fun. Of. Me!” Edd warned, punctuating each word with a poke that made his poor friend’s giggles raise in pitch.
“Ehedd, cuhut it ouhuhut!” he whined, batting at the brunette’s hands, which did nothing to dissuade him.
“You know, there’s one more thing you and the clone couldn’t possibly have in common, Tord. And I think we both know what that is~”
“Don’t even think about it!” Tord warned with a smile, standing and backing away.
“C’mere, Tord!” Edd leapt for him, just barely missing as he ran. “Don’t think you can escape, the apartment’s smaller than you think!”

Tom held Matt close as the tallest’s bright giggles slowly died down, listening closely to his next door neighbors. He was mainly listening for anything suspicious, like Tord rummaging through Edd’s things or possibly a low, maniacal plot. Strangely enough (to him, at least), he only heard the sounds of running footsteps, panicked, giddy laughter and Edd’s teasiest ‘ler’ voice.
As much as he wanted to agree that this was probably the real Tord and the other was some imposter clone, for some reason that story didn’t sit right with him. Maybe it was the absurdity of it all, but why would that be a problem when he’s killed his own clones? Maybe he just wanted to believe Tord could never be a halfway decent person.
The truth was, his and Tord’s rivalry, though violent, was always friendly. He saw Tord as as much of a friend as he did Edd. No matter how many times they’d hurt each other, tried to kill each other, insulted each other, at the end of the day they were still friends. If conflict rose up against them both, they’d fight side-by-side, just like he would with Edd. Maybe he just couldn’t handle that Tord was still like that to him. Maybe he didn’t want to admit that all those claims of him not being friends with Tord, or any of the others, really, was just him pushing that brotherly care back.
He looked down at Matt, gently hugging him close. Whatever, he could figure it out later on, when he wasn’t tired.
Right now, all he needed was his giggly redhead.

1. Are you named after anyone?
Only the bird (Raven) but people are always really disappointed with that answer and I feel like I need to start making up something more creative. My middle name is a family name on my dad’s side and his dad’s name (girl version of it anyway)
2. When was the last time you cried?
I got mento Illinois so within the last few hours, before that within the last few hours before, I’m a hot mess but we workin with it ✌🏻
3. Do you have kids?
Not yet but I very much want them and adore my friends kids
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I’m British I’m contractually obligated to be sarcastic at least three times a day or I lose my citizenship
5. What sports do you play/have you played?
Disabled so I don’t play anymore, but I used to play netball, badminton, and roller derby
6. What's the first thing you notice about other people?
I know their vibe is a weird answer, but I vibe check on sight and am usually very good at distinguishing good and bad vibes. How they treat other people, their body language (rarely eyes because I ain’t making eye contact with you unless I know you well)
7. Eye Colour?
Blue/grey with a lil hazel ring in the middle
8. Scary movies or happy endings?
I love both, it really depends on my mood and what I’m looking for. But if I need comfort I’m probably going for a happy ending
9. Any special talents?
I’m fairly good with a sewing needle or sewing machine, I used to make a lot of clothes, especially period clothes (my Victorian walking skirt is one of my most beloved possessions). Other than that, probably Star Trek and Furby trivia
10. Where were you born?
I live where I was born so I ain’t gonna dox myself, but North West England
11. What are your hobbies?
Playing video games is probably my main hobby, alongside writing, I also enjoy embroidery, collecting furbies, baking and cooking

I have one cat called lil bit (she’s a menace and I love her)

5’ 1” (shrank an inch or so from a lil scoliosis)
14. Favourite subject in school?
I always loved English (enough to get a masters in it, for better or worse), but I really loved science in high school, and my original plan was to become a doctor until I realised I was very much not that good, but I could throw words together well enough
15. Dream job?
I’ll leave this question in for other people to answer but I ain’t really comfortable answering it, but short answer is I’ll probably always enjoy writing and publishing fics and that’s enough for me ✌🏻

no, my middle name is after my grandmother though, partially because my mom really wanted to name me Lizzy Bennett (first middle, my last name starts with a B as well) and my dad put his foot down haha

nope, lots of cousins though! definitely want kids someday, every time i see babies my uterus screams at me and it’s extremely inconvenient.

(This is super chaotic ik but I opened Tumblr then I simply forgot how the English language works💕)
As far as personality, I’ve been obsessed with the Marauders since I was 11ish and made them my entire personality. I have adhd and a lot of people say Im EXACTLY like James Potter personality wise. I’ve also been in LOVE with Sirius Black forever (Remus too but mostly Sirius). I have no aesthetic really I’ll wear a super frilly pink dress and those Amazon knock offs of the Versace platform heels in hot pink one day and one of seven leather jackets and old beat up black converse the next. I’ve been a competitive figure skater for 15 years and in middle school I skated to ACDC’s Back In Black after all the rude looks from old ladies I went on to do Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, ZZ Top, The Rolling Stones, Queen, and more. I also live in a small town in Illinois and shot trap in HS (just in case thats where you shoot clay pigeons with a shotgun) I got Top Female 3 years in a row and did better than most of the “redneck” boys who got their egos bruised when I STILL shot better when I showed up in my prom dress THREE TIMES. I drive a cherry red Mustang and sometimes wear lipstick and press on nails to match it. I have a MESSY room and car but you best bet everything else is organized, all my notes are color coded with rainbow pens and I have a 3.75 gpa, I work on campus at my university in the DEI office and I’m the president of the Disability Awareness club all while I’m running off of iced lattes. I loved all the kids of ST I just don’t relate as well because I’m older than them, but I do relate to Dustin and love his comedy. I somehow got MULTIPLE rare genetic disorders (how one gets multiple RARE genetic disorders idk the drs dont know either and all these rare disorder foundations want to test me now) one of them is Ehlers-Danlos and I have all the generic symptoms like stretchy skin and bad joints my knees actually dislocate and pop back in as I walk sometimes but the latest thing was my middle finger dislocated and I got it xrayed to make sure I set it correctly and now I have my xray of me flipping off the xray machine taped to my wall and I sent it to all my friends too with no explanation. Ive also become the nurse friend of the group because I currently have 12 diagnosed conditions and I used to have to give myself Subcutaneous infusions once a week before I switched to IVs in the hospital and even though I in no way went to medical school when someone comes to me hurt usually I can fix it or when they come with symptoms I can give them advice but tell them to still go to a dr then they go to a dr and usually the dr says the exact same thing I did except Im a Human Resources major and an anthropology minor and Im keeping it that way. As far as a best friend in ST I’d have to say it would be Robin because because she’s exactly like one of my real life best friends.

My mother's name is Lisa and my father's name is Gary, so my mother thought it would be a good idea to combine them. Kind of like how people have couple names and instead, you name your kid the couple name.
2. When was the last time you cried?
At least once a week? Someone once told me that crying is the cleansing of the soul. I like that.
3. Do you have kids?
No, parenting is not for me. I love my alone time and personal space too much.

I've never technically been on a team or in a competitive sport, but I do love playing racquetball and DDR. Does playing video games competitively count as a sport? I also love playing anything you can get into at Dave and Buster's.

1. Are you named after anyone?
No, my parents just thought the name was pretty. My dad has been making comments for my entire life that I am a "jewel" so if anything, I was named after a pretty rock.
2. When was the last time you cried?
Hmmmm. Five days ago? It was a clip of Ragamuffin. I cried specifically at the line "Trust that I love you as you are, not as you should be. None of us are as we should be."
3. Do you have kids?
No, just middle schoolers and high schoolers that I volunteer with that a couple of refer to me as their "church mom".
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?
Constantly. I grew up in a ministry family and wasn't allowed to cuss - how do you think I processed anything?
5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Probably the vibes they're giving off - I'm pretty good about reading people. I look a lot at body language and the look in their eyes. After that, probably hair?
6. What’s your eye color?
Dark brown. Looks lighter in the sunlight, looks black in the shade.
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings, 100%. My fiance likes tragedies and we have had multiple arguments over if that is a good ending or not.

Computers seem to work when I am around them? I get called into co-worker's offices often to help with a computer thing but as soon as I come in, it starts working.

When was the last time you cried? - It's hard to say considering I cry like, way too easily, but I think the last time was while I was rewatching an Owl House episode?
Do you have kids? - Nope
Do you use sarcasm a lot? - Not really. My autistic ass has a hard time getting the tone right, so every time I try people take me way too seriously, and it's way too much of a pain to have to explain myself afterwards

This is how it works:
The theme for this weekend is Good Vibes! 😎 So we’re going to 3-2-1 style with your WIPs! What does that mean? For the number of WIPs you have, you’re going to start with sharing that number of sentences for the first one, drop by one for the next one, etc.

Cripes I have a lot of WIPs, including some that I've been chipping away at on and off for a year. For the purposes of this, I've just ignored the ones I don't think I'll ever touch again. Almost all McShep, because I am predictable.
7. From my long, post-canon, Jennifer's accidental pregnancy + McShep fic (which needs a HUGE rework and will probably lose 70% of what's already written, including this):
It was true. John remembered being 17, sitting at the large oak dining table, his father telling his mother about Joe Paxton’s kid - he’d moved to New York and now he was sick, dying maybe, all because of his lifestyle choices. He remembered his father’s disapproving frown, his mother’s worried eyes. Remembered Dave making a joke about Joe Jr wearing dresses. Remembered how a month later Danny Trulio pushed him off, said they couldn’t anymore, God would punish them.
He remembered his first years of service, the campaign promises undelivered. John had taken the path of most resistance in every other area of his life, this had been his one compromise, his one personal sacrifice.
6. From the fic set between 2014, when Rodney shows up on John's central Illinois doorstep, and 2021, when their domestic bliss is interrupted by declassification:
He wanted to give you some time to-” Sam doesn’t finish the sentence, but Rodney can conjure up a dozen appropriate endings. Get your affairs in order. Prepare yourselves. Run.
“Fine,” Rodney says, pausing to drain his coffee, as he opens the fridge, takes stock of its contents. “If that’s all then- the farmer’s market is on today, and if I don’t get there by noon all of the good bread is sold out.”

Rodney’s face and neck were flushed red, and his eyes were shining and god, John wanted to kiss him right there, in the middle of the bar. With a start, he realized he could. He could and the worst that would happen is that Rodney would reject him and never speak to him again and John would need to find a new friend.
John shook his head; he could, but he wouldn’t.
“I thought TinTin was Belgian, anyways,” he said.

BACKSTORY;
childhood:
tenzin was born in nepal and raised in chicago, illinois.
she was well loved by her parents, and cared for perfectly. when she was around the age of seven, she noticed that certain things she said to people, or asked of them, came true.
like any kid would, she used this to her advantage, not understanding how dangerous her ability was. to be honest, she didn’t know she had one. she just thought she was some kind of... gifted kid.
her dad caught her using her ability on her mom a few times, and knew that there was something different about his daughter. she was one of those mutants from her mother’s side of the family.
he told his wife what was going on, and they decided to abandon their child. they were scared of the abuse they’d face if people found out about tenzin. so, they packed their bags while she was at a friend’s house one day, and fled.
cut to a nine year old tenzin returning home to find nobody was there. after spending two nights alone, crying, scared, and confused, she went to her teacher at school for help.
tenzin ended up being placed in an orphanage. she hated it there, often running away. she was too scared to use her ability unless she was alone with only one or two people. she knew that there must be something wrong with her if her parents left.
teen years:
she simply wasn’t vibing and didn’t play well with others. she did use her persuasion a few times over the years, resulting in her bullies getting broken limbs. she left when she was 16.
slept on the streets while she worked her first job at a diner. ended up living with her boyfriend she met there when she was 17. she used her ability on him, telling him he’d never ask her for money and he’d pay for everything. (ik, she’s fuckin’ trash.)
tenzin grew more and more bitter as time went on. she couldn’t escape the hate and pain that hung over her head like a dark cloud. she started using her ability on more and more people to get what she wanted. nothing could fill the growing void inside her, though.
adult years:
met a man who changed her life at 21. she kicked diner boyfriend’s ass to the curb, but not before emptying his savings account. what was his was hers, after all.
said man was a notorious troublemaker. he’d heard whispers about what tenzin could do, several of his stinky lil henchmen had witnessed it first hand when she told one of their friends to walk into the middle of oncoming traffic after he’d catcalled her. splat.
he hired her to be his personal hitwoman. it was easy for her to get away with literal murder. all she had to do was say a few words. he paid her generously, and she struck up a romance with him.
the romance ended... badly. tenzin found out he was married, then she had no choice but to kill him. she didn’t use her words for this one, though. she used a dagger and wore a smile the whole time.
worked for herself after that. chillin’, killin’, thievin’. she never stays in one place too long, she’s constantly moving house to avoid being tracked down by anyone.
due to her volatile and manipulative nature, she doesn’t have many friends. she does, however, have many lovers of both genders. you can’t think about your childhood trauma if you keep yourself distracted <3
TLDR: tenzin was abandoned as a child, stuck in an orphanage, ran away often, left the orphanage when she was 16, used her ability to stay alive by making her bf from her first job pay for everything, dumped him and had an affair with the man who hired her as a hitwoman, killed the guy. now she’s a boss bitch hitwoman/thief for hire, kinda evil, and getting jiggy a lot <3
UPDATE:
after some deliberation, tenzin decided to join the brotherhood. seeing one her acquaintances get murdered by a mutant hunter turned her against the idea of any humans living on the same earth as mutants. betty persuaded her <3

Character ref for; Jack, Maddie and Jazz,

Okay so first off; in terms of Actual redesign, I didn't change a whole lot. I'm actually very fond of Jack and Maddie's design's, my only real issue was with their proportions. Like...look as a lady person who is also thiCC I do not have a fucking wasp thin waist and I'm sure I'm not the only one, lmao. As for Jack? Godamnit he looked like a brick on toothpicks. Just Let him be a fucking Bara man! Anyway of course I asked Gally to do this one bc they're fucking great at drawing different body types
I also cannot and will not take credit for Jazz's outfit. I didn't have any issue with her canon clothes aside from them being a bit plain, so what she's wearing here was literally pulled straight off of her original concept art, which I will link here.
Anyway, getting to the Actual character lore now, let's start with
Maddie Fenton
-Full name is Madeline (I haven't decided on a maiden name yet)
-Born and raised on a farm in Arkansas, had a southern accent that she trained herself out of in college bc it was just one more reason for people not to take her seriously. Still sometimes uses "y'all" completely unironically bc old habits die hard.
-She has a really big family, and they're proud of her accomplishments but feel like she's wasting her talent studying ghosts, because really, up until the Fenton portal was up and running there wasn't even any solid proof they existed. Her sister Alicia is the one outlier there, and even if she doesn't understand, it she completely supports her.
-She majored in engineering and minored in psychology at Wisconsin EDU. Her, Jack and Vlad were all in the same engineering class, and that's where they met.
-Maddie is particularly interested in how ghosts think, analysing their behavior, their motives. Not only that, but they aren't just dead people with unfinished business, they've built an entire culture in the Ghost Zone that is completely seperate from humanity, and she wants to understand all of it.
-skilled marksman and 9th degree black belt, (which is. The highest fucking level there is holy shit? I looked it up after I saw it on her wiki page.)
Jack Fenton
-He's from Minnesota (Amity park is in Illinois and him and Maddie didn't move there until after they got married)
-okay, "but why minnesota specifically" you ask? Because. I crave. Foot ball discourse.
-minnesota vikings vs green bay packers guys do you UNDERSTAND WHERE IM GOING WITH THIS
-The funny thing is that Jack only watches football casually while Vlad is a fucking die hard so when these two got together to see a game it was like....
-Jack: Here to chill and have a good time.
-Vlad: Primed and ready to start a fist fight at any given moment.
-I am never not going to be salty about how Canon Jack was portrayed like a complete moron 99% percent of the time. Like no...theres a difference between Actual Stupid and ADHD induced dumbass-ery.
-Am I saying Jack Fenton has ADHD? Yes. why? Because I also have ADHD and I have always vibed So Hard with his Character.
-Jack is loud and easily excited about things that interest him. He's impulsive and fidgety and yeah, a bit absent minded. He has a mouth that clearly runs so much faster than his head. His train of thought doesn't get derailed so much as it stops and takes several different detours on the way to it's final destination.
-and that's only the tip of the iceberg, really, I'd need an entire essay to get into this completely, but I just really relate.
-Jacks skill-set / interests regarding ghosts vary a bit from Maddie's, most notably in the sense that he doesn't believe that they're static entities already set in their ways, completely incapable of change.
-Jack majored in engineering and minored in Biology at Wisconsin EDU.
-Jack's work with tech is a bit hit or miss. He definitely HAS the engineering skills, but the intrest isn't always there and he's constantly jumping back and forth between different projects. He tends to focus on the concept work and schematics and leave most of the assembly to Maddie as a result. It's an arrangement that works well for them, and has drastically decreased the number of unintentional explosions in the lab.
-A lot of Jack's work tends to revolve around ghostly biology and Ectoplasm, figuring out how ghosts are made, what makes them tick, what the hell Ectoplasm Actually Is, how it's used as an energy source, ect.
-and yes, that does also mean he handles the dissections.
-See that facial scar? Yeah, that's not actually there at the start of the series rewrite but it's very important for plot reasons so I had to include it. Can't say much more on the subject because SPOILERs owo.
Jasmine Fenton
-Jazz is a 18 years old, and a senior at Casper high.
-Which means she prepping to go away to college and won't be around to keep an eye on Danny.
-Obviously that doesn't mean I'm just writing her out of the story, oh no. Know why? Because she's also gonna go to Wisconsin EDU. ya know who else is in Wisconsin? Fuckin' Vlad.
-Jazz is autistic, Although she passes for neurotypical in part due to symptoms being completely over looked in girls due to gender stereotyping and also the fact that she doesn't have any special interests that are considered " "too weird.""
- Her hyperfixation with psychology started at a young age in an effort to better understand people, and social/emotional cues and all that.
-Jazz is well liked at school but she's not popular or apart of any specific group or clique. She's very kind and compassionate to people, and just about everyone knows her, but you'd be hard pressed to find someone who actually Considered her a friend. Except maybe Spike.
-I'm gonna have to give spike his own Character ref at some point, but he's this scary looking goth kid that's been held back twice. He's actually super sweet, just really fuckin' quiet and anxious. Him and jazz kinda ended up gravitating towards each other. She might do most of the talking, but they look out for each other.
-its not like jazz doesn't try to socialize, but it's difficult and she's found it much easier and less stressful to just. Keep to herself and let her interactions with her peers stay shallow and superficial. Sure, it's lonely sometimes but it's better than constantly worrying about saying the wrong thing or making some other misstep.
-One of Jazz's other special interests is football, and it's not so much the players or the game as it is the strategy of it? Started out as one of those things you do to bond with your dad, and she ended up getting really into it.
-She absolutley winds up getting into stupidly intense discussions with Vlad about it, too, lmao.
-Her and Danny probably bonded over SBNation bc that shit has both sentient satellites and ridiculously complex football mechanics.
-She's completely oblivious to the fact, but Dash has a massive crush on her bc holy shit this girl understands football (hey bud your toxic masculinity is showing put that shit away)
-I mentioned that Danny was in Cheer for a bit in middle school so it makes sense that she'd also be pushed into doing some kind of extracurricular activity.....so.....she was in a martial arts class for a bit thanks to Maddie and has a good grasp on self defense.
I think that's everything? I feel like I'm leaving things out tho? Idk if I did I'll come back and add on to this later and also pls don't hesitate to ask questions bc it really helps me flesh things out better.
