Prompt: NexGen is the leading company for all of humanities technological advances. Their recent project involves creating a higher functioning AI, one with basic knowledge of the world, and programmed to learn. It’s no surprise the project is a secret from the general public, and you, the company’s head programmer, were chosen to be the AI’s teacher. You wish you could reject the assignment, but the decision was made. Now with an AI at home things were different. Although it might not be such a bad thing, perhaps you could learn and help each other out, for better or for worse.

“Welcome home.”

The last time you had actually been at your house was the day Chae Hyungwon revealed his true colors to you. This place didn’t even feel like home anymore. You had made such good memories here, but now they were all tainted. It wasn’t hard to understand that you were a prisoner in your own home. Hyungwon put you to bed, having somethings he needed to do, and for now he needed you out of the way. You had no idea for how long you slept, but when you woke up everything was still.

For a moment you could delude yourself into thinking everything was fine, but that was far from the case. While you slept Chae remained a bracelet on your arm, but as soon as you were awake he was around your head again. After a while you decided to get up, being careful as you weren’t exactly steady on your feet. If you had any doubts about your house not being your own anymore, this confirmed it. When you opened the bedroom door you saw multiple orbs fly past. It was a strange sight, and you stepped out into the hall leaning against the walls.

“Hyungwon…”

The only place you could think to look was in your home office. The door was ajar and you gently pushed it open, seeing that the room had been upgraded. It was a whole set up, allowing both Hyungwon and Minhyuk to work. When you opened the door Hyungwon noticed you, offering you a smile and getting up.

“What are you doing out of bed, you need rest.”

“I’m fine.”

“I’m sure you are, that’s why I called over some friends.”

“Huh?”

Hyungwon took your hands and led you back to your bedroom. There you found Wonho and Kihyun setting some of their things down.

“There she is.” Wonho remarked. “It’s so good to see you again.”

“Uh…”

“They’re here to do a house call.” Hyungwon explained. “You haven’t been to the doctor in a while, so I had them come here.”

“Just a routine check up.” Kihyun assured. “Nothing to worry about.”

You sat down on the edge of the bed, Hyungwon leaving you with the two of them. Just as they said they did a simple check up. Although Wonho wound up scolding you.

“Kihyun tells me you didn’t pick up your meds, so you haven’t been taking them.”

“…”

“You’re still healing so it’s important that you take them.”

“I brought your refill.” Kihyun said. “So you can continue.”

“Excellent.”

Wonho had you take the pills, making you feel a bit uneasy as you weren’t entirely sure what you had been given. As you were finishing up Hyungwon came in, happy to hear the results from the other two.

“Since everything is good, I can show you your surprise.”

“A surprise?”

“You’ll love it, but first let’s get you dressed.”

Hyungwon helped you get properly cleaned up before picking out an outfit for you. Once again Minhyuk was the one to drive you around. Despite Hyungwon telling you this was a surprise, you kind of expected you’d be going back to NexGen. Although you didn’t know what he really meant until you walked in. He pulled out a keycard and let himself through with you in tow. Other employees merely greeted you both. It was strange, making you feel that something was off. The elevator ride took you up to the floor you used to work on and the whole place was unsettling.

It was eerily quiet on that floor, and multiple orbs were floating around, more than before. You could only hear the sounds of keys clacking and some low voices on calls. Hyungwon took your hand in his and led you over to your old office. He had a big smile on his face as he opened the door. A giant welcome back sign hung by the windows, and you could see some gifts around your desk. Before you could ask, Hyungwon explained that you had been reinstated as head programmer at NexGen. You looked at him with confusion, not understanding why he would do such a thing.

“The way things went down wasn’t right, and this is your rightful place.”

“But… what’s the catch? I doubt you’d let me take over this project of yours.”

“It’s easier for the company to go along with my plans if your name is on it. You built quite a reputation for yourself.”

“So you’re just using me.”

“I’m letting you rest. You gave a lot to this place, it’s only fair to return the favor. Minhyuk and I will take care of everything.”

“Hyungwon, you can’t-”

You groaned as you felt another shock run through your head, making your vision go blurry for a moment. Hyungwon held you up and brought you over to the couch.

“We can get some work done. So just relax, and I’ll play you some music.”

“No, that stuff-”

“Sh, sh, it’s okay. I’m so thankful for you and for being yourself. We’re changing the world together.”

“Hyungwon, please talk to me…”

The door opened and Minhyuk let himself in, interrupting your attempt at a conversation. Hyungwon’s attention shifted and you were left on the couch with your head getting foggy.

“Did you give Wonho and Kihyun their cases?”

“Yes. They’re set to distribute them tomorrow after the launch. Shownu will come by later to get his so we won’t worry about anything.”

“Good.”

“Wait… wait… the launch is tomorrow?”

“Yes.” Hyungwon exclaimed. “We have somethings to prepare, and we have to go over the speech. Everything has to be perfect for tomorrow.”

Changkyun woke in a cold sweat, screaming and thrashing around. He soon recognized his surroundings and calmed down. Although his cell mates started to yell at him and told him to keep it down. He apologized and got up to use the restroom, trying to move past the nightmare.

“Inmate 0126, you have a visitor.”

It hadn’t been that long since Changkyun had been charged and thrown in prison. The whole thing had been rushed, and he only stood in front of a judge for sentencing. He was worried as to who this visitor was, but he wasn’t going to reject them. He was led over to a room, surprised to see officer Lee.

“How’s prison life treating you?”

“I’m super paranoid if that’s what you mean.”

“Why?”

“I’m caged with a target on my back. Don’t be surprised if I wind up dead.”

“You really think someone is gonna kill you?”

“Yes. Why are you here?”

“Have you heard the news?”

“No, why?”

The officer placed a small gift on the table, confusing Changkyun. When he opened it he pulled out a small orb. Changkyun immediately panicked and fell out of his chair.

“Why do you have that!”

“Calm down, it hasn’t been activated. Although I have to admit, I didn’t expect such a reaction.”

“One of those things tried to kill me!”

“This thing? Doubtful.”

Changkyun got back up, taking the orb from the other when it was offered to him. He examined it cautiously, confirming that it wasn’t active yet.

“How did you get this?”

“It was a gift.”

“From who?”

“NexGen.”

“What?”

“That little AI thing you mentioned before, they launched it. So I guess you weren’t lying.”

“They launched it? The project was still in early stages and the AI-”

“I guess you were wrong about the timeline, and the intention. You see these little AIs are being sold to the public. They’re designed to help one in their day to day lives. The demonstration showed how useful they could be, and they’re honestly quite affordable.”

“You bought one? After everything I told you?”

“Oh no, I didn’t buy this, it was a gift. NexGen sent many of these orbs to police stations and hospitals, intending to help their work and better communicate with the drones we already have. Honestly, this whole thing sounds incredible.”

“So you’re here to brag?”

“You know, while I was watching the launch I kept thinking back to what you said. And the thing is.” Lee stared at the orb. “NexGen isn’t known for being so charitable. Technology like this is very advanced, and they’re just handing it out. My question is why. What is the goal?”

“You’re suspicious of NexGen’s intentions.”

“I am. Also, your friend is back with the company.”

“My friend? You mean y/n?”

“Yeah. She did the whole launch with that Hyungwon guy.”

“She had an orb too, right?”

“The one you said went rogue, yeah. So what is NexGen doing?”

“I don’t know.” Changkyun admitted. “A launch this soon, the AIs can’t possibly…”

“The rogue AI… if its code was copied into every orb…”

“Then that AI is running the whole show. That doesn’t tell me what its plan is.”

“I wouldn’t know. Their code is corrupted and unpredictable. All it wanted was y/n, and it seems to have that now. So I have no idea what it’s doing.” Changkyun took a moment. “That Hyungwon guy.”

“Chae Hyungwon, he was by her side at the launch.”

“Chae… Chae… don’t trust that guy… he’s very likely an android… and inhabited by that rogue AI…”

“You sure?”

“No, but something isn’t right with him. Look, whatever NexGen is planning, you’d have to ask y/n, she’s the only one who would know.”

“I doubt that’d be easy.”

“Don’t trust those orbs.”

“I don’t.”

“Well, just in case, code black 0024, that’s the emergency reset protocol. It might still work.”

“Good to know.”

“Officer-”

“You can just call me Jooheon.”

“Jooheon… do the officers here have the orbs?”

“I didn’t see any on my way in, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they get implemented here soon. This is a place that has a lot of police drones.”

“When that happens… I’ll most likely die in here… and it won’t be an accident…”

“Why would you die?”

“For the same reasons I’ve been telling you. I know about the rogue AI, and now you do too, so you might want to be careful.”

“I’ll keep that in mind.” Jooheon got up. “I’ll keep you updated on things.”

“Get to y/n, please. Whatever’s going on, she’s not safe.”

“I’ll try to get to her, but I can’t make any promises.”

“I know.”

Jooheon made his way back to the station, a lot on his mind. When he arrived he was greeted by his partner. Everything seemed normal until he was asked to speak in private in one of the interrogation rooms.

“What’s this about, Shownu?”

“I didn’t see you this morning, and I heard you went to visit Changkyun. Why is that?”

“Well, considering what he told us before, I wanted to get his opinion on the matter.”

“What matter?”

“This whole launch from NexGen, I don’t trust it.”

“Is that why you haven’t activated your orb?”

“Have you?”

“Of course. Everyone in the station has.”

“Hm.”

“Do you believe all those crazy things that guy said before?”

“I don’t know but something feels off here. I never really trusted the drones either.”

“You can’t be the only one outside the loop here, you’re an officer. Here.” Shownu pulled out an active orb from his jacket pocket. “You can take this one.”

“I’ll pass.”

Jooheon figured the conversation was over and intended to make his way out when the orb suddenly charged at him and changed shape. It snapped around his neck and tightened, making it hard to breathe. Jooheon reached up to remove it, but he couldn’t get his fingers under it. He felt a shock and stumbled to the ground. He looked up at Shownu, trying to reach out to him for help, but the other only stood there and watched.

“You’ll be fine.”

Changkyun’s paranoia only got worse as he saw those orbs implemented in the prison. Now he definitely felt like he was being watched twenty-four seven. He probably upset his cell mates and soon enough he wound up getting into a fight. Because of that he wound up in solitary confinement which wasn’t so bad. It eased his anxieties a bit. At least for a while. He could sleep easily although one night he woke to the sound of knocking on his cell door. It was dark, and he saw no one outside his cell. As he got up to check an orb suddenly flew in. He immediately retreated, pressing his back against the wall. He was waiting for some sort of attack, but instead the orb projected a hologram of a familiar individual.

“Hyungwon…”

“Are you enjoying your arrangements?”

“What the hell are you doing!”

“Following my programming.”

“So you are an android. How did you-”

“I have been meaning to thank you. If not for you I might not have been able to reach my true potential.”

“I don’t want your thanks.”

“Well, I have come here with a preposition. You’re a valuable asset to NexGen, and I would like you to join me.”

“Whatever you’re doing, I want no part of it.”

“I understand. Unfortunately I can’t have unresolved ends. Thank you again for everything you’ve done.”

The hologram disappeared, giving Changkyun a false sense of relief. The next thing he knew the orb was around his neck, choking him out and electrocuting him. He screamed and thrashed on the floor, calling for help, but he wasn’t so sure he’d get it.

“You have nothing to fear.” Hyungwon kissed your head. “I’m sorry I haven’t been around too much, but once everything goes through we’ll have all the time in the world to spend together.”

“Sh, sh, sh, it’s nothing you need to concern yourself with. Soon enough I’ll have everything under control.”

test me - xdinary heroes, music core 220723 // the concept of the test me cb was an underground battle of the bands type thing, and i loved the set design of this specific stage because it's so subtle and builts directly out of the existing stage intrastructure. also the yellow jumpsuits are cute, so sue me.

invu - taeyeon, inkigayo 220220 // honestly, i'm just obsessed with the choice to use the led floor panels to to simulate a pool, ringed with the surrounding greenery. the rest of the designs is great but lighting effects are always gonna get me

voyager - kihyun, music core 220319 // i LOVE this ship, it's a great way to work the band into the stage with different levels all in association with the theme.

wooah hip - mamadol, mcountdown 220127 // my villain origin story is that mamadol was a temporary project group. give us kahi back!!!!

chase - minho, mcountdown 221229 // people have slept on minho's solo which i expected, but honestly i really enjoyed it and i like how he very clearly showed that he had clear ideas that he wanted to explore than aligned with his own interests. the styling overall was not particularly notable bc it's a very naturalistic theme, but this patent leather trenchcoat really is something that only minho could pull off

this GORGEOUS staging of kim jaehwan's back then, it's one of the few times that i've seen in the round used properly in a kpop context and maybe the only time i've seen it on a music show? also great set design and it looks so good with his pinwheel lightsticks.

tbh i just picked a random ascension stage for this, bc the sheer amount of production value they put into everything they do deserves being viewed even if they didn't make any of my other lists. prop kings, literally.

Your answer filled me with such softness, you can't imagine! My best friend lives far, far away from me. Two years ago was the last time I got to see her. He had a week-long sleepover in an Airbnb in her city, and one night, we grabbed the newest CD from our favorite (non-kpop) band and hit the road for a midnight drive. We drove until we hit the wide open country and pulled over on a deserted highway to stare up at the sky. It was the first time I had seen the Milky Way, and we cried together. Then on the way back, we sang one of the new songs together that has since become "our" song, and I secretly recorded it, and it's one of my most favorite memories ever. quick cc note: hehe here we goooo! buckle in we’re in for a long ride etc. you’re all used to this by now! changkyun is so very dear to me in such a specific way where i can’t think about him for too long or i’m at risk of crying. you know? he occupies such a particular place within the group and in my heart.

i definitely don’t claim to know what’s going on behind the scenes or pretend to exactly understand anyone’s state of mind except my own... but doesn’t changkyun seem lighter these days? i think in general changkyun loves the stage and loves music, and you can always tell that. he’s always been happy when he’s out there under the stage lights all mic’d up. but this past promotional period he has seemed so relaxed and happy and comfortable like he has been GLOWING!! that impossibly charming silliness that sometimes shows itself has been spilling out of him!!! and it makes me so so happy because he deserves that! like doesn’t it do your heart good to see him thriving!!

i have such a soft spot for him for a myriad of reasons but one of them is that it’s because i know that so much of this job kind of goes. against his instincts?? alkf;alsk. changkyun is by nature, so reserved a lot of the time and a lot of an idol’s job requires you to have your on switch flipped at all times. he himself has talked about it, how it doesn’t seem like a job suited for him and yet... it IS his job and it DOES suit him. and in a lot of ways, i think how introverted he is helps at his job, in that he is able to expend his energy when needed and ride that high, and then knows how to regroup and recover within himself. he’s talked about the come down from the rush of being on stage and how it’s a peculiar and acute loneliness, and how actually, he doesn’t mind it. that it’s something that you need to feel.

changkyun is just so thoughtful and introspective. i think he’d be such a good conversation partner. from now on when people ask that icebreaker question that’s like. which three people dead or alive would you want to have dinner with... i’m naming changkyun as one of the answers. i really admire the way that he can sit with his emotions and acknowledge them, and at the same time, the way that he’s like. fake it til you make it!!! like. so true king. me too. sometimes you just have to keep telling yourself that you’re fine and you just keep saying it and keep saying it until it’s true.

he’s a bundle of contradictions. he gives off this cool and fierce image while being so, so sweet to the bone, the group’s resident romantic. he quietly watches his groups antics from the side except for when his goofy sense of humor bursts out of him. he cares fiercely, so fiercely about what his people think of him — and nothing at all for his naysayers’ words. he’s incredibly introverted but loves standing in front of the crowd under the spotlight. :):

i think all the time about how changkyun really maintains a strong sense of self in an industry where it can be really hard, really brutal to do so. here are the things that stand out to me, especially: he is considerate of others, and endlessly patient with those he cares about. (thinking of: him sleeping in his studio for kihyun’s solo debut to make sure he didn’t disturb the sparse amount of sleep kihyun was getting. the way he always indulges hyungwon when hyungwon asks him to check his eyes.) he was raised with an appreciation for music and art and it shows so clearly in his identity as an artist. and along with that, growing up in a few different countries when he was younger gave him maybe a more international mindset than he would have had otherwise. he is honest in his music. he knows his worth and will make the decision that’s best for him, even when those decisions may not come easily.

i’m so excited for the future for him. like changkyun, i also believe that good times and bad times must both exist, and that one will naturally follow the other. but i hope that for him the good times always last longer than the bad ones, and that inner light that’s been shining from him keeps on dazzling us all.

im changkyun!!! i admire who you choose to be every day!! i’m really proud of you and the way you’ve had your cake and eaten it too, leaving the company and staying committed to the group and the members you love so much. i can’t wait for your solo ventures to come, i can’t wait for the group activities to come, i just can’t wait to see what comes next. this year i hope you stay happy, stay smiling. i hope you keep on betting on yourself, because you will never, never lose when you do. with all the love and support, always. rooting for you, cheering for you. with you every step of the way.

Shownu

Love: So i am here to confirm that Shownu is dating and that it does seem like his relationship is going through that change like in january. I believe that they took a step further in their relationship (either engagement, going to live together, ect). in any case he is happy and working for it

Career: his career is also going well, he has the right people around him and he trusts his managers to take care of anything that is related to his image and his idol life. Shownu is basically chilling and living peacefully

Self: overall he is happy, he is content. His mental health is going well and so does his physical health. Shownu is embodying happiness

Minhyuk

Love: The complications within his relationships are still present. Minhyuk and his partner still have communication issues and they often don't understand each other due to that. there’s disagreements and arguments but yet none seem to want to abandon the relationship.

Career: He might be having some issues with one of his managers. This is mostly authority issues, probably because the manager has a strong presence and Minhyuk didn't like the fact that the manager was ordering him around.

Self: he is physically and mentally okay. Minhyuk, despite the chaos, lives a chill life and he tries not to stress on things and instead focus on progress.

Kihyun

Love: Kihyun is still dating the same person he was dating in january. It seems like their issues have died down and that things are way more calm and stable. they have both set boundaries and understanding on what they wanted the relationship to be.

Career: I believe that Kihyun is having a hard time at the moment when it comes to his career. the group is still not completed, the schedules and comebacks are a little confusing and all of his solo projects are either delayed or canceled which makes him frustrated. he feels like he's losing money

Self: he has been struggling with his mental health a lot lateçy. From what I can see, Kihyun has had some difficulties sleeping, and most nights are restless. He is also rather anxious, sometimes has sadness attached to him and he is overly stressed out.

Hyungwon

Love: His relationship is still going intact, and they are both happy and going forward. there is not much to say about it since everything seem to be doing well and the deck isn't providing any info other than that

Career: Hyungwon is equally experiencing a set back but mostly due to his finance background, i believe that his paychecks are smaller than what they used to be which makes him anxious and also become greedy with money

Self: He is going through a tough period physically. his body seems to be tired and more fragile than what it was and that's because he experienced a lot of psychosomatic symptoms. he needs to lay back a little and enjoy more instead of stressing out on everything

Jooheon

Love: Jooheon seems to have solved his inner conflicts and his mistrust with his partner. at the pent they seem to be together and doing good. i dont seen any jealousy of paranoid thoughts since they have been together lately and also working together on issues to avoid such conflicts

Career: His career is also feeling a little more fragile (perhaps due to the military situation). there isn't much to say since there isn't much happening in that area of his life

Self: Joohen is someone that is learning a lot about himself at the moment. I think going to the military really is helping him grow as a man but also as a person inside and out. He is finding new forces within himself and new goals. He is overall okay with his health as well.

Changkyun

Love: He is still in his relationship and things seem to be going okay for now. There's a lot of passion, a lot of love and desire. slough it does feel like Changkyun is searching for more and has ideals, it also feels like things are going well and that its just his emotions pouring out at the moment

Career: His career is a little blocked. Kyun had some ideas for what he wanted to do next with his music but I don't think that the company approved it since it was too much of a change from his idol image and they didn't think this would work. at the moment he is trying to figure things out and sticking to his usual image and music

Self: He is okay physically but just like Hyungwon he suffers from a lot of psychosomatic symptoms. I also think this is due to his inner conflicts and his own disagreements with his values and with things around him. his environment isn't the most healthy

Hear me out, initially I didn’t really know whether the friendship between you and Hendery would actually work, however, after some thought I can actually see this being a great friendship. Sure both of you have very contrasting personalities, but honestly this would be what brings you closer to one another. You are both quite eager people, but I’d like to think that you are more refined while Hendery embodies more chaotic energy. Initially you would probably get a sense of how-the-hell-is-this-friendship-working, but let me tell you now it’s a very good friendship. It may seem like Hendery could easily overshadow you with his entire personality, but since this boy is very in tune to his emotions and those around him he has developed a type of hyperawareness which really adds to your friendship. He is genuinely more of an empath, by way of observing. He is socially smart so he will be able to easily sense the unsaid things and notice when you are uncomfortable or need some time to yourself. Honestly I feel like what drew Hendery to you was the uplifting energy you have, but as he got to know you more he just really felt comfortable. He is the type of person to just dub you his friend because you’ve spoken a few times, so yeah it is incredibly easy to become friends with Hendery but this friendship will definitely last. He is a fool for knowledge and seeking things out so you bet he will ask you endless questions about theatre class, or anything to do with arts or sciences. He will actively listen to you and will honestly trust your word over everyone else, he is also probably one of the most qualified to be a good friend. Hendery also has the need and want to make as many friends as he possibly can, so while there are differences in your likes, dislikes and general traits, your motivations will always overlap in some ways. So you both take on the idea that hey, why don’t we just work together to achieve our goals. I probably sat this in every ship where I mention Hendery but, his whole personality is just contagious and he will definitely inspire you to go outside of your comfort zone and inspire you to be way more comfortable with who you are. Hendery and his beagle personality is honestly too precious, like he would be so happy to help you out, give advice or anything else he can do. As soon as you turn to him to ask him a question his eyes would totally light up. Your friendship is the typical opposites attract situation, and that is probably the best quality of your connection since you both are so powerful in your admiration and care for one another.

Now this one is a very unique kind of friendship, from the get go it would have been a very deep intrinsic connection. It’s as if you and Kihyun skipped past the basic level of friendship to one that is very intuitive. I think what would have initiated this was the fact that Kihyun could sense just what type of person you were purely because he recognised some traits and ideals that he too possessed. It’s not as vain as it sounds. He wouldn’t have wanted to be your friend just because you are similar to him, he just knew that you were the type of person he would get along with. You would have been drawn to his sense of mystery, it was in the small things that he did, you felt that he was somewhat reserved and that he wasn’t telling you everything he thought or felt. This wasn’t a bad thing, he is a person that is often in his own thoughts, but why he approaches you like that would boil down to him just not showing how much he relied on your friendship and how it helps him grow as a person. He is a warm and kind person, however he keeps that reserved for those who he truly cares about. You would be seeing this side to him most of the time, he is also genuinely interested in your dreams, goals and aspirations and will always be ready to cheer you on. Despite how reserved he seems he matches the type of energy and lust for life and adventure that you have, he is quite innocent in that sense where he hasn’t really lost that love for life so he will be more than happy to experience culture and landmarks with you. He isn’t as forceful as the next boy (ahem, Mark) but he is pretty keen. Overall, your friendship is a very strong one, if you have a disagreement or don’t see eye to eye you both come together to work it out in the end. Another thing that I just have to mention is that both you and Kihyun seem to embody the same type of dramatic action, Kihyun has made some comments about wanting to be an actor if he ever had the opportunity. I’m going to say it now, people who have had aspirations to be an actor or actress are some of the most interesting people I have ever met. This all circles back around to Kihyun feeling that sense of familiarity when he is around you, there is this really awesome sense of relatability that the two of you share this is what strengthens your friendship tenfold. Kihyun knows that both of you will be friends for a very long time, if not forever but he will never take for granted the breath of fresh air that is you.

This, thisssssss. I love the idea of this friendship more than anything in the entire world. First off there would just be so much respect in your friendship, he absolutely dotes on you. Mark is as social and spontaneous as you, you both hold so much energy and excitement, this would only be amplified when the two of you are together. You both have a lot going on personality-wise but somehow that seems to work really well, you two would definitely have the most harmonious friendship in the entire world. When it comes to you Mark would be quite protective of you, but he wouldn’t really make his presence known as the protective brother so to speak. I mean he would if he felt that you really needed him to stand up for you but otherwise it would be a very relaxed friendship. I admit it is a bit of a contradiction that such an energetic pairing is so laidback, but you would both just let life take its twists and turns since you know that when you are together things go pretty well. Though you both give off a somewhat similar energy Mark definitely holds the title of being the clumsy one out of the two of you, he tries his hardest at everything, that’s what you always remind yourself of when he offers to spend quality time with you. There is nothing he wouldn’t do if he knew it would make you happy, I know he sounds a bit in your face, but he honestly wouldn’t mind if you wanted to chill or do something without him. He maybe comes off as a little clingy and will express his adoration for you 95% of the time, but honestly he would really value your friendship. In his mind you and Johnny are the same, in the way that he adores both of you in the same way.

After your unsuccessful try of explaining that ‘the site that you ordered his album from mixed up the orders’ he instantly threw it into the trash, glancing at it in disgust before turning to you

· “Do you really think that I’ll believe in your childish lies, darling? You’re wrong, my love. I'll make sure that you never look at another man ever again."

Hyungwon :

· Pissed off. You're both idols attending a music show, sitting a few tables apart from each other as one of the boy groups start to perform, making your cheeks turn pink as you cover the bottom part of your face with your hand

· Hyungwon watched you in silence the entire time as you were watching the performance, all flustered and head over heels for the boy group on the scene

· After a while you caught the male's gaze and made eye contact with him, his dark glare saying only one thing – 'just wait until we get home'

· "Try that stupid fangirling shit once again and I'll make sure you never see the light of day again. Don't test my fucking limits."

Jooheon :

· Because you were bored of staying home alone all the time because of Jooheon's messed up schedule, the male let you visit him at practice with his group

· Yet he quickly noticed that something was wrong – your eyes were only on Minhyuk, following his every move. You were even letting out quiet squeals at times, making your fangirling over the member almost too obvious

· His jealousy taking over him, Jooheon instantly stopped his practice, excusing himself to violently drag you home where you were going to stay for a very, very long time before the male will trust you around his group ever again

· "Oh, you think I'm fucking jealous, love? How could I not be when you were literally drooling on the floor for my fucking friend?"

I.M :

· The male very rarely lets you be around his own members, let alone other men or male idols

· And oh, the moment he sees you making doe eyes to another male idol you're dead. He won't be listening to any of your pointless excuses, trapping you inside and making sure that he's the only man you'll be looking at from now on

· Don't think your stupid behavior will be free of punishment, either – the male will make you regret every single second of the day you decided to try and mess with his jealousy

· "Was it fucking worth it, huh? Look at you, all fucking pathetic, all because you can't control yourself in front of other men. Don't worry. I'm more than happy to teach you how to, darling."

“Are you alright?”

“Yeah,” you nod at your father’s question as you sit well on the chair beside his bed. “Namjoon’s taken care of Kihyun so he can’t come for our family any—”

“I’m asking if you’re alright, Y/N, not about our situation.” When he cuts you off like that in such a strong voice, you’re reminded once again about all the things that had happened in that dark room in Kihyun’s manor. When your eyes fall to the floor and your lips seal quiet, your father’s voice fills the silence. “I heard briefly about what happened…or, the speculations of it.” You can feel your fingers digging into your skin when he says those words, not wanting to believe that your own father heard a few things about what had gone on in those three days you went missing.

Your own father.

“I’d kill him myself if I had the power.” You can hear the concealed rage in his voice and feel tears waiting to fall at any moment but you hold them in, not wanting them to ever fall in the presence of your father.

He shouldn’t have to hear about this. He may have a hard exterior and not like to show his emotions most times but he’s still a father who brought a daughter into this world. He shouldn’t have to go through this.

You haven’t told anyone about the details and don’t ever wish to for their sake but it still hurts knowing your father knows enough to speculate what had happened. You never wanted him to ever go through this. You always vowed to yourself to live well, to protect yourself, to fight, to conceal yourself from any pain that can hurt you so that your father didn’t have to worry about you.

He’d always had to fret over your mother, after all. She had been a lovely woman when she was still living, but too pure for this world. When her life was forced out of you and your father’s life, you remember how bad it had affected your father and promised then to live within the shadows and serve as a good heir for the mafia.

He shouldn’t have to go through this pain and you hate yourself for letting him understand what this pain feels like. So helpless, regretful and guilty because he couldn’t do anything.

He doesn’t deserve this at all.

“Hi!”

“Y/N?”

From the looks of it, Yoongi’s quite surprised to find you right at the doorsteps to Bangtan’s manor and even you wonder it yourself. You aren’t sure how or why you got here but here you are, greeting one of your potential lovers with a smile.

“You really aren’t fearful of anything, huh?” He lets out a sigh when he finds no one accompanying you. “Where are your bodyguards?”

As he asks that, he walks right back into the building and you follow along without hesitation. “You already know I’m not too fond of bodyguards,” you tell the man lightly as you look around at the interior of the inside. Now that you remember it, you don’t think you’ve ever stepped foot in here.

“They’re for your own safety. Wouldn’t your father get upset if he were to find out you stepped out without a bodyguard again?”

“Not if he never finds out,” you singsong.

“Hm. A young lady visiting the doorsteps of seven healthy young men late at night,” you look up to find Hoseok walking down the steps of the stairs, his eyes narrowed playfully your way with a small smirk resting on his lips, “it almost seems a bit scandalous, don’t you think?”

“Is it that odd?”

He shrugs. “We’d never let anyone else in.”

“Oh really? So I’m special then?”

“You’ve always been special.”

“Oh.” Well you didn’t expect to hear that. But then again, Hoseok’s always been flirty around you, hasn’t he? Both him and Jimin have ever since your first meeting. It almost became an everyday thing whenever you’d meet up with each other coincidentally so why’re you getting stuck now?

“What’s the matter?” Hoseok laughs. “You were always so good at taking my comments and now you’re getting flustered?”

Because he sounds like he means it this time.

Maybe.

“Y/N? What’re you doing here? It’s late at night.”

“That’s what I said,” Hoseok responds when Namjoon walks out from one of the hallways with Jungkook following right behind.

“Y/N?” The maknae’s eyes brighten a bit at the sight of you and you almost want to laugh at how excited he looks.

“You came without a bodyguard,” you hear Seokjin say as Jimin and Taehyung follow him down the steps of the stairs. He looks displeased. “If you keep being so careless, you’re going to worry your father again.”

“Right…” They meet you in the middle where a circle of seats lay, just the right place for a meeting. When they take their seats and look at you expectantly, you take a moment before speaking up. “Um…about that.”

“Hm.”

“I came to give my thanks.”

“This late into the night?” Namjoon raises a brow. “You could have sent a simple letter and I’d be fine with that.”

“I wouldn’t,” you say, heart sincere, and they watch you with a serious gaze, knowing you have much more to say, so they fall quiet, waiting for you to go on. You fidget with your fingers for a moment and they realize this is the first time you’ve hesitated ever since your first exchange of words with them a few years back. “If you hadn’t come that day — no, if you hadn’t sent me that proposal I…”

You can still feel the stinging sensation that had lasted on your face for some time. How many days have passed since then? Just three days. It took you two days to recover, another day to meet your father at his bedside because he’s weak and stuck to a wheelchair now due to of the lasting effect of the poison, and now here you are, late at night, visiting the people who had lent you a hand.

“If it wasn't for you, I would have…I would have been stuck with that monster.” Your voice breaks a little and their lips tightens.

“Y/N…”

“I also came here because I was afraid,” you admit, jaws clenching when you think about it. “I can’t openly cry back at my place because then my father would hear about it and how can I do that to him?” They stand from their seats, walking up to approach your trembling self. “Even if he were to tell me that it’s okay to let it out, that I shouldn’t hide anything from him, I can’t do that to my own father. He shouldn’t…He doesn’t…” You feel a hand on your cheek and look up with desperation. “No father should ever know what that feels like yet I..–”

“None of this is your fault.”

“I know,” you nod, understanding it well but it still pains you. “I know but…but it just…”

When your tears fall for the first time, they can almost hear their own heart breaking at the sight.

You go on to wipe them away before giving up and letting them be as you realize it’s no use. They hold you there silently, letting you cry, holding you still and even as you fall to the floor because you can no longer stand, they fall with you.

“Please say it,” you say through the tears.

“Say what?”

“Propose to me again, with words this time. Not through a letter, not through my father, just…right here.”

Namjoon takes ahold of your face, his hands gentle as they brush away the tears that are blurring your sight from seeing them clearly. He places on a sad smile, hating seeing you in this state but for you he’d never deny a thing you ask for.

“Will you marry me?” He asks and you cry a little more.

“No.”

A rueful chuckle leaves him. “You wanted me to ask just so you can reject us, huh?”

You laugh a little despite the tears and let yourself lean into his arms. He holds you protectively as you feel gentle hands running through your hair, fingers caressing yours, love at all sides.

“Just admit that you lost first,” you mumble and he sighs.

You hate losing and so do they but for you, they’d do anything. “Alright. We’re caving.”

A smile curls along your lips. “Then…yes. I accept your proposal.”
