Hello again everyone! I’m Merry, and I hope we can all come together to once again spread holiday happiness and cheer!

Please read all of the guidelines carefully!

This event has a PG-13 and below rating, meaning absolutely no nsfw. If you think what you made is questionable, it’s probably best not to post it.

Please make sure you are able to finish your gift! If you sign up and cannot complete it for any reason, contact me asap so that I can find a backup Santa. If you did not receive your gift last year, please message me immediately upon signing up to let me know.

Have your submit box or IMs open, please! This is the best way for me to send you all of the information you need to know once you are assigned someone. If I cannot contact you, you may be disqualified. (if you signed up last year and dropped out with no warning, I may not accept your application, so please message me first!)

If you sign up and then change your username and do not notify me, I will try to track you down once. If I cannot find you, then you may be disqualified from the event. Please be sure to keep me updated on any username changes!

Please, do your very best to give your giftee what their heart desires! Do your best to make their wish come true!

This shouldn’t need to be said, but if I find out you’ve used stolen art in your gift or put anything nsfw in the tag, you will be banned from participating in the future. Please make original gifts!

Sign-ups will remain open until November 15th at 11:59 PM EST. You will receive your match-up shortly after.

Once you receive your match-up, you will have about a month to get your gift completed! You are allowed to post your gift any time between December 20th and New Year’s Eve. I will message everyone throughout the month (especially as it gets closer to the deadline) with reminders to get their gifts done.

Are crossovers allowed? What about OCs? Crossovers within the Rune Factory and/or the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons universe are allowed as well as Rune Factory-based OCs.

-What forms of media are accepted for this event? Because I had some issues in the past with a few people, I have no choice but to narrow down the criteria to fanart and fanfiction. HOWEVER, that does not mean edits and videos are no longer allowed! You can still submit them so long as they have some sort of original aspect (like a video of a fan-made in-game scene, incorrect quote-styled edits, etc.), I will accept those into the “fanfiction” category. All that being said, if you’ve participated in the past with different forms of media than listed above, please contact me and we can work something out!(please message me if you have any questions about this)

Please put as much effort into this as possible. Your giftee would probably be disappointed with a blurry drawing on notebook paper taken with a camera, so I will not be accepting something like that as a final gift.

-I’m a fanfic writer, how long should my story be? I would recommend 1000 words minimum. There’s no word cap, but please keep it reasonable.

-Can I send my giftee an anonymous ask if I need more details about their gift? Yes, absolutely! If they do not have anonymous enabled, feel free to send me a message and I’ll ask for you.

-I want to participate but I don’t have a tumblr. Thankfully you don’t need one to participate, all you need to provide is a form of contact!

-I got assigned the same person as I have before! This is a small fandom, so that may happen with an event with many of the same people signing up year after year. I’m only one person, and I cannot remember who has been assigned to who before, so if this happens and you’d like someone else, please feel free to let me know!

-I got assigned something that I’m not familiar with! I use a random number generator to assign match-ups and I do try to fix match-ups that are incompatible, but sometimes I may miss something. If you are an artist, I may have to end up assigning you something RF1 based when you have only played RF4 based on how many signups there are, but when it comes to writers, I try my hardest to make sure they are familiar with the source material. Still, if you are assigned something or someone you are not comfortable with, please let me know ASAP and I will work on getting you switched.

A/N: I cried a lot while writing this. He’s kind of OOC in that he talks a little, but it’s the love of his life so…

Word count: 987

Michael kneeled in front of the mutilated body before him and stuck three fingers into one of the wounds he had created not very long ago.

Flashback

Tears streamed down the girl's face, hot rivers flowing endlessly as she ran from who she thought was the love of her life. She ran into her now-dead neighbor's house, locking the door and shoving a bookcase in front of it. Thump. Came the first knock, slightly quiet and almost unnoticed. She covered her mouth with her hand as she struggled to scramble up the stairs, never taking her eyes off the door.

Thump! Slightly louder this time as Michael shoved his body against the door. A silent scream left the girl's covered mouth as she came to her senses and searched the house for something, anything.

BANG! The door crashed against the ground as Michael stumbled into the house after throwing his 6'7" build at the door. He searched the entire house before checking one room. The bedroom of Mrs. Jameson.

He knocked at the door. Once. Twice. Three times. Right before he did the fourth he heard the sound of a window opening. In a panic as to not let her escape, he smashed through the door, causing the unprepared girl to let out a scream. He stalked towards her, cocking his head to the right slowly.

She tried to back up but only ran into a wall. As he reached the petrified girl, she was shaking as silent sobs wracked her body. He reached down and started to choke her out. She struggled against his grip as he lifted her into the air, legs flailing every which way. As he watched her take her last few breaths before she passed out, she muttered a phrase that he was too blinded by rage to hear.

"I..lo-ve…you…Mik-ey. Goodbye…" He watched as her eyes closed and she fell limp in his grip. He dropped her frail body and it made a sickening thump as it hit the ground. He cocked his head and reached into his pocket to pull out his knife.

He proceeded to stab her many times as his vision was red. Crimson flowed from the body’s many wounds, seeping out and staining the white rug her no longer beautiful figure laid upon.

Michael took a second to admire his work and walked out of the building and into the street.

He felt as if something pulled him back into the building. Something was wrong. Something felt wrong.

Now

Wait…, Michael recognized that necklace that adorned the body's neckline. That wasn't just any necklace. No, he knew that necklace. More importantly, who it belonged to. Y/N. His beautiful Y/N whom he would give the world. No. No no no no no!

Who did this! They will pay for their sins! Memories flooded Michael's mind as he realized something. He hurt her. He didn't just hurt her. He killed her.

Flashback

"You'll never hurt me, will you Mikey?" The H/C girl turned to the man, the blue light from the tv gracing his rugged, unmasked features. He tipped his head down to look at his love, who was laying with her head in his lap. He grabbed her hand and pulled her up gently. He tipped her chin up so she was looking at him directly.

"I would never hurt you, my love. You mean too much to me. I promise to never hurt you. Never ever." He smiled. She grinned happily before pecking his cheek and feeling it flush against her touch. She giggled and laid back down, turning her attention back to the tv.

Michael couldn't seem to take his eyes off her that night. She was perfect. And she was all his.

Now

I..lo-ve…you…Mik-ey. Goodbye…

Her words filled his mind as he remembered. His rage had blind-sighted him. He put his head to the ground and let out strangled howls of pain and grief. He pounded the hardwood floor with his hand so hard that his hand became bruised and bloodied.

He stuck three fingers into one of the wounds he had created not very long ago. He pulled them out and felt the blood run in burning rivers down his fingers and hand. He picked her body up and held it close to his chest.

"No no no no! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to! I love you! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! Goddammit!" He screamed into the open air as tears ran hot down his cheeks. He held his beloved in his arms and for the first time, she didn't hold him back.

Her figure was still in his arms and once again, he was alone. And it was all his fault.

His body shook with silent sobs as he held her close. He felt her take in a shuddering breath and gasped. He grabbed her face as she opened her eyes to look at him. She smiled and stroked his cheek.

“Hi, Mikey.” She let out a cough that made him wince and blood spurted into the hand she covered her mouth with.

Hello again everyone! This has undoubtedly been another difficult year for a lot of people, but I hope everyone has stayed safe and healthy so far. I’m Merry, and I hope we can all come together to once again spread holiday happiness and cheer!

Please read all of the guidelines carefully!

This event has a PG-13 and below rating, meaning absolutely no nsfw. If you think what you made is questionable, it’s probably best not to post it.

Please, do your very best to give your giftee what their heart desires! Do your best to make their wish come true!

Sign-ups will remain open until November 19th at 11:59 PM EST. You will receive your match-up shortly after.

All of that being said, the best way to give your giftee their gift is to post it publicly, and tag it “RFSS2021″. I will reblog it here. If you do not wish for your gift to be public, then please submit it to me so that I may send it to them privately. It’s preferred that you do not send it to them directly, mainly so I will know that you completed your gift and don’t assign a back-up, but if you MUST send it to them directly, please let me know once you do so.

Are crossovers allowed? What about OCs? Crossovers within the Rune Factory and/or the Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons universe are allowed as well as Rune Factory-based OCs.

-What forms of media are accepted for this event? Because I had some issues in the past with a few people, I have no choice but to narrow down the criteria to fanart and fanfiction. HOWEVER, that does not mean edits and videos are no longer allowed! You can still submit them so long as they have some sort of original aspect (like a video of a fanmade in-game scene, incorrect quote-styled edits, etc.), I will accept those into the “fanfiction” category. All that being said, if you’ve participated in the past with different forms of media than listed above, please contact me and we can work something out! (please message me if you have any questions about this)

-I’m a fanfic writer, how long should my story be? I would recommend 1000 words minimum. There’s no word cap, but please keep it reasonable.

-Can I send my giftee an anonymous ask if I need more details about their gift? Yes, absolutely! If they do not have anonymous enabled, feel free to send me a message and I’ll ask for you.

-I want to participate but I don’t have a tumblr. Thankfully you don’t need one to participate, all you need to provide is a form of contact!

-I got assigned something that I’m not familiar with! I use a random number generator to assign matchups and I do try to fix matchups that are incompatible, but sometimes I may miss something. If you are an artist, I may have to end up assigning you something RF1 based when you have only played RF4 based on how many signups there are, but when it comes to writers, I try my hardest to make sure they are familiar with the source material. Still, if you are assigned something or someone you are not comfortable with, please let me know ASAP and I will work on getting you switched.

Zeus and Poseidon both suffer from Cain instinct. Hades does not. That’s why when Percy met Thalia and Jason, they were almost immediately ready to throw hands, but when he met Nico, Bianca and Hazel he wasn’t. If you go by mythology, Hades CHOOSE the underworld because he didn’t trust his brothers to guard the remains of their father or the entrance to Tartarus, but the real reasons was probably to get away from Poseidon and Zeus trying to beat the fuck out of each other all the time.

But later? Later Nico develops the Cain instinct all of his own, once he’s over his crush on Percy. Immediately upon seeing Thalia/Jason/Percy he is like “guess it’s time to end you.”

Hazel is a (not) innocent baby in the eyes of her cousins and brother and therefore is exempt from this because none of them want to fight her.

Apollo shows up at Percy’s apartment to find Percy doing a handstand, Thalia and Will arguing, and Nico laying on the floor with glassy eyes mumbling nonsense: Umm.... what’s going on here?

Will: none of them have slept in 3 days, Nico has shadow travelled 8 times and all they’ve eaten in McDonald’s cheeseburgers and blue pancakes, Thalia and Percy stabbed each other in the leg “for science” and neither of them will let me do anything about it, Percy’s doing a handstand because, and I quote: gravity will stop the bleeding. Thalia won’t let me even look at her wound, she dumped whiskey on it after taking a shot and I’m fairly certain that I saw Percy dump a monster into his coffee 20 minutes ago.

Apollo: *Horrified*

Nico: The cops were just in a bad mood or something, idk

Will: The cop asked Percy for his papers, Thalia yelled “Scissor” and Percy drove off, then Nico flipped him off from the back window.

Just here to say that according to riordan wiki, Nico is 5’6ft and both Will and Percy are 6ft. So Will and Percy can stand on either side of Nico and still make eye contact over his head with no issues because Nico is very small and I love that for Nico. Just a tiny little angry goth gay. An actual height for Thalia and Jason weren’t actually given, but I imagine Jason is close to Percy’s height and given that Thalia was described as “tall” I imagine she’s at least taller than Nico. Nico probably hates it. His boyfriend and all his cousins are taller than him. Percy and Thalia absolutely use their height advantage against Nico.

Also. Hazel is 5’2. She’s a small bean too. Both Hazel and Nico are very aggressive small beans and I love that for them. It also implies children of the underworld are short. If Hades was human, would he be short too? Or is he into short women and that’s why his children are short?

People say Patroclus was a soft baby.

Excuse me. You mean that man who went to ONE (1) battle without Achilles, murdered 27 people, including a son of Zeus, could have taken Troy if Apollo didn’t show up, pull a homophobia and YEET HIM OFF THE WALL OF TROY, and was only killed by Hector because Apollo distracted him???

Patroclus was a badass, he just preferred to take care of people and heal the wounded rather than fighting. But give him a reason to fight and he was a damn beast.
