Another thing that should have tipped me off that I was trans was I was raised on country music, yeah? I'm not talking the good country between ~1940-1980, by the way, I'm talking the 2000s, but all those country songs that the man was talking about his girl? I always pictured this distant future where I was like this cowboy who got all kinds of ladies.

I don't think my closeted self would dream of myself being where I am now, but I still do hope being a cowboy is at the least in my future...

to be very honest the genre of rock bands who made a bunch of songs about their weird feelings about god in the 00s-10s (red, flyleaf, disciple, fireflight et al.) still have a grip on me and some of them are even still good. not most of them though

THIS IS NASTYYYYYYYYY #<-sorry I'm just saying that cause unpunishable by miss ethel herself is on #and this is the first time in 3 and a half weeks that I've listened to anything other than unreal unearth btw #anyway I'm listening to the playlist both because I really want to but also cause whenever I make a playlist #I need to listen to the whole thing at least once. see it in action #to make sure it's actually good #cause I have this tendency to get powerhungry with the song adding and I'll just add more and more songs I like #while getting looser and looser about whether or not they actually fit the prompt #and I check if they fit just by pulling up the lyrics which is sometimes different from actually listening to the song #like sometimes you look at lyrics and you're like yeah I could interpret this my way #or yeah it mostly fits but the few lines that don't are ignorable #and then when you actually listen to the song you're like oh no you CAN'T interpret it that way and those lines AREN'T ignorable #so yeah I gotta do playlist editing basically because I lose my mind #like do I really need six of the kim petras halloween songs on here. debating on if turn off the lights really fits. I'm not sure #also btw tbostuals I am taking critique on the playlist. tell me if I've lost it please tell me if I need to get stricter on a song #but it does fuck. this playlist does fuck I'm having so much fun

Guyssss, I made a Spotify playlist for Middlepaw and now they’re sad… they weren’t the most joyful creature before, but now I like actually made them sad a little bit. Maybe more than a little bit, haha. They just kinda pretend they’re not sad and try to avoid thinking about it. “Fake it ‘till ya make it!” If they act not sad, then they’ll become not sad, right?? (Spoiler alert: that doesn’t work)

Don't get me wrong, I understand why Hiyoko's specific brand of traditional dancing is implied to be in nihon buyō to emphasize her family history, the implication that the Saionji clan is a nihon buyō school and the pressure that puts on her, and the general vibe that she's being raised to become a geisha. But I'd kill for her specialization to be in the type of odomi dances used in festivals.

#this is not making any sweeping statements about the legacy of geisha btw. i have no qualifications on that #but i think For Hiyoko Specifically #the odori dances are so much more active and sillier and casual #in a way that i think nihon buyo just Isnt for her #and i think having a group dance instead of a dance focused on her takes a lot of the pressure off!#i am in fact researching for hiyokos playlist. and i am having to physically restrain myself from putting suzume odori on it #look it up its so fun!!#i'll always have my headcanon that hiyokos dad took her to festivals when she was a kid #danganronpa

During the 2020 shut-in era, I basically only listened to Coldplay and god the amnt of emotional nostalgia I get from listening to their music is so

thinking about the unfairness of my most listened to songs of the past 6 months

no. 2 is gazin by ringo deathstarr which is like. that's so nice bc i started listening to that the day after spotify stopped counting listens last year so it never got a chance to be in my spotify wrapped, but I'm like 99% sure it's gonna be in there this year, so it finally gets its recognition

but no. 1 is hate yourself by tv girl, which was one of the biggest songs I listened to in 2022? like you've already had your moment. why are you no. 1. let one of the other songs have a chance

but it's such a banger that it'll probably end up being no. 1 anyway

#this is like in 2018 when my no. 1 was the who the kids are alright #like. you should be in 2015. what are you doing 3 years after my who obsession mostly faded. where did you come from......#for me songs are forever assigned to specific years and if i get reobsessed with a song years later i have to be like #'okay you can be in my playlist FOR A LITTLE WHILE but you have to behave. don't overdo it though bc you've had your year'#i can make a few exceptions like e.g. i listened to wolf alice don't delete the kisses in 2018 bc i liked it #but then i listened to it again in 2020 and it ended up becoming the soundtrack to a really significant memory/period of time #so like that is an honorary 2020 song to me #also i guess if i have a song in my playlist and then a new year begins and it's still in my playlist then i'm not gonna remove it #or make a new playlist of completely new songs to signify a new year (made that mistake in 2020.......)#like i'll let it carry on its. thing. but once it does go from the playlist it's forever tied to a specific time #so i can listen to it in the future when i want to relive a certain bit of time #it lives forever the memory archives #i'm normal about the way i listen to music btw #ramble
