first oil painting done at home! (and last of my scheduled posts, phew) the reference is a page from an old calendar. I'm pretty happy with how it came out :D It's done on oil painting paper rather than canvas

Not ultrakill related for once- I finally finished an oil painting I've been working on for a while! (Reference was this image of the Pillars of Creation.) 12 hours of oil painting is way too many hours of oil painting for my adhd ass why do I keep doing this to myself

(the weirdly dark part by the stars is just wet paint... I'm too impatient to wait for it to dry before posting it x.x)

Starbee collection (and a little bit of ratchet)

Their shadows seem to have the right idea…

They’re having some time away from the kids to relax but…star doesn’t seem very relaxed (^^;)

(Edited because the tags looked awful) SKIP THIS IF YOU DONT CARE ABOUT TFE STARBEE!!!

On a side note I think bee and star would have opposing feelings on being in close proximity. I think star would take time to get used to it while bee wouldn’t think twice about being smooshed next to star. Bee is used to people and likes them for the most part (and most autobots are physically affectionate with eachother). I think in the beginning star would push away bumblebee like he did with twitch and it would take some time before he’s able to casually accept physical affection. Especially considering his history of having been kicked around and hated for centuries I’d think he’d have a hard time accepting physical affection. It’s a scary thing to accept for people who’s greatest memories of emotional physical contact are a punch to the face because what if you say something and they get mad and hit you? It takes a lot of trust which bumblebee and the terrans I think would eventually earn.

#my art stuff #digital art #baldur's gate 3 #bg3 #astarion #astarion ancunin #this is part of a series I like to call “I’m never settling on a singular detailed artstyle”#I have no consistency in drawing realistic people/characters other than my shapy cartoon style #but I truly don’t get enough opportunity to properly shade anything with art in that style-!!! it always looks weird to me-!!!!!#I think some rude lil worm in my brain is wriggling around telling me it’s a futile attempt at still doing realism #cus I’m one of those “gifted” artists that grew up promising his parents he’ll end up among the big names or whatever #constantly training to become better at art but with realism oil paintings as the goal #you know how it is 😔#I wanna shade my lil funky designs but they never feel good enough to really put energy into or whatever so I compromise with stuff -#- like this where I try to draw characters more accurately while still stylizing them and shading them however I feel like it #which is great and all but I should really learn to give my more relaxed and less perfectionist art a chance #I deserve to enjoy the process and the result without working myself dead #it’s so much easier and rewarding to copy cartoon styles - stylizing realism makes me too anxious of doing it “wrong”#at least cartoon styles give me a goal to reach or a reference to strive towards #man I really should just cut myself some slack altogether #either way - this man is a flustered mess and he’s embarrassed about being called adorable in public or something #being teased in an affectionate way about his sweeter side and stuff #don’t ask why he’s shirtless - anatomy is just a lot more fun for me to draw sometimes #tasteful nudity and all that is extremely gorgeous to me #i need to practice anatomy more cus I just kinda did some shit and went with it this time with a BIT of consideration for muscle structure

With my degree show opened i want to share some of my favourite paintings i have done this year, im so proud of what i achieved and so relieved its all over! My project was around nostalgia and how memory makes us who we are, reflecting on my vivid memories of childhood. The layout was very intentional as i wanted it to appear like the memories were bursting out of myself in the way nostalgia often feels for me. The portrait of myself now is life size, and depicts the bittersweet feeling of reflection and memory.

I don't know, man. I signed up for this big 3-month oil painting class and it got canceled the day it was supposed to start. Since I already have the class time set aside every week, I decided to just try and learn to paint my own damn self.

I don't know how to work the oils and I keep smearing things. My colors are muddy and my values are nonexistent. Nothing is coming out remotely how I want it. I had to switch to acrylics because I realized I straight up don't know the basic principles of painting, period.

But I did a value study of a skull that turned out better than any skull I've drawn before.

#i can spot a dozen anatomical mistakes without trying #i spent a hour attempting to paint the folds in the cloth behind it and it came out so bad i just painted over everything #I'm having fun #I'm gonna try to paint the skull from a different angle next #my art #my paintings #learning how to paint is a life goal of mine #youtube has been helpful but not as much as you'd think #i finally found an intro to oils lecture recorded from an art school that finally helped

I realized I never posted these, so here are some of the oil paintings I’ve done for school in the past year. I have another statue painting similar to the first one that should be finished in the next week!!

okay my eyes are still really swollen and my nose still hurts and my head still hurts and I'm so over it. it's been what, 9 hours?? I'm not enjoying this.

#all this just because I used some paint??#my eyes feel like immediately after you've been crying for 2 hours #not nice #and if I want to try again I'll have to accept that this will happen again and. that's kind of unpleasant. don't want that.#buuut. I only used them for a short while but it was already so much fun 😭 couldn't focus on it that well because everything hurt but it #was fun!#maybe if I wear a mask? don't know if that'd make a difference for my skin but I guess it won't hurt to try #sucks that it's winter and I can't open the window completely #maybe that's the problem #but if I can only use them outside or in summer it's pretty much pointless anyway #ugh.#overthinking this as usual but I wanna use these damn paints so bad!!#I've found a different brand that I can try. I don't know if they use a different oil or whatever but at least these ones aren't of unknown #age so I can rule out that it's just that they've. idk gone bad or something #personal

i need 2 get back into painting fish

#said in the ‘gary i need’ voice #or painting in general . i want 2 get into plein air #and go to like . arizona or smth and paint the landforms . soo red and orange and rocky and dusty and ❤️🫶#the round brushstrokes on tht 1 would be so much fun~_~#its such a tiresome medium though.like all the set up and cleanup and stuff #i refuse to learn abt oil precautions so i just stick to acrylic but even then it dries so fast and its like.mindgame trying to decide what #to focus on in the little time u have . and god forbid u paint on a layer too soon and u lift it off the canvas #HELLLLLLL. but the end result is always so worth it . like holding a physical piece.its 3d .its REALL #fish r so much fun to paint bc 1 u get to pay attn to their morphology but 2 they jave the best textures #im not averse to painting fur but i lovee . the interplay btwn light and fish skin. its so epic and awesome #the only other artist ik of in my family is my uncle & he METALWORKS!!! FISH !!! ITS SOOO FREAKIG COOL #i want to learn from him so bad . guh.GUAHHHHH. anyways i just think its funny that the two of us r fixated on recreating fish #crosses my arms .#okhh.. i also wnt to get into mosaics . god.GOAODDD #did i talk abt this 1 alr.. reread the b1p arc w the mosaic and fresco work and it makes me so sick why couldnt i go to art college and make #frescoes and mosaics .woe is me or whagever . no but its so tempting 2 just buy some tesserae and get 2 it ..#i saw a pigeon mesh mosaic n it like lit that fire under me . what we need js like one giant art collective #that magically provides all the supplies in the world for free and we hold hands and make art in 20 different disciplines 2000 different wys
