Actually, I'll take a moment to describe what my image of Gage is, as someone who has never played Nuka World and can't (poor), and hasn't dug through all of his in-game lines (time consuming)
My 'fix' of Gage was exclusive nuka-world (I think that was their user) and another tumblr user who posted Gage specific reacts. Nuka-world was the Preston stan who had Tracy, pretty popular artist. You've definitely seens remnants of their work, but they deleted i believe. They portrayed Gage as, like, a weird, lemme teach you crime kind of uncle/older brother who liked lizards and simple mischievous pleasures.
The other tumblr who I do not remember the name of portrayed him as this...very nuanced individual, full of contradictions that he justified to himself? So, that Gage was closer to Canon Gage, from what I can tell, but he was written to very clearly not belong with raiders.
That Gage had good people in his life, growing up, that taught him strict morals; some of which he kept. He held doors open for women, he hated raiders as much as he thought that way of life was the only viable one, he was loyal to those who earned his respect and trust. He wasn't a good guy, but he could have been. If you scraped off the raider shit, underneath that jaded exterior was just a normal guy.
So, my interpretation of Gage is a somewhat weird, off-kilter, but no-bullshit man who didn't want to be doing what he was doing deep down, but was never shown a different way to survive, and even if it meant being the problem, he refused to sit and let himself be a victim. If he had a choice between problem, victim, and solution, he'd have picked solution. But he never saw that choice. And maybe if there was a choice like that, presented to him now, and that choice had some real spine to it, he very well would still choose different.
Now, that's almost certainly OOC. But that was still a character I liked; it reminds me of many people I know IRL. Not people I'd call good, because they've made questionable decisions and have odd views of the world. But they aren't bad either, because they have heart and try to do their best with what they have, which is little. This version of Gage isn't a good person, or a bad one. He's just a person.
More specifically, the way I always described him, mentally, is that he's "a wolf trying to become a sheep so the sheep stop headbutting him."
So, my Gage doesn't care for any raider shit. He's concerned about hygiene, he has tastes for the finer things in life that you can't brute force, he wants to do his own thing and be left alone, and doesn't necessarily want to bother anyone else. My Gage thinks economics are important, understands politics, supply and demand, the benefits of raider life VS the life of peaceful communities working together. He just sees that the raider way comes on top.
The way it would play out in my Sole's story, if she ever went to Nuka World, is she'd fuck with him, and force him to make that choice again.
Isadora would go in, kill Colter, talk to Gage, and realize: Oh. This guy doesn't belong here. This guy doesn't want to be here at all, really. He wants something this life cannot provide and couldn't sustain, because it opposes it on a fundamental level. But my Minutemen and my cities, they could. But he won't come willingly.
So she kills Colter, and tells Gage: I am going to come back with my army, and do whatever I have to do to save the people you are oppressing. I have the ability to do this as a weekend vacation; my men outnumber yours 20 to 1, and they don't share my compassion and understanding for your kind. But I can see that you are not like 'your kind.' I will give you the chance to unite and prepare for a siege, or to leave Nuka World and come back with me, as one of my personal unit.
And Isadora walks while Gage laughs her out of the room. He hates that he's left as Overboss, now, but that's his only worry. Farmers with guns? Pfft.
Then he starts hearing talk of the Minutemen, the first bit being "one of our guys spied on one of their bases and they have a lot of sentry bots."
"...how many?"
"He cant count past ten, since that's all the fingers he has."
Because Isadora is a robots expert. She makes robots. She did this for a living before the bombs. 1 sentry bot? Bad. 2? Fucking bad. Three? Nope, you're dead. 4? 5? 10? More? Overboss Gage is worried about the bots, but they can outsmart them, use mines, maybe get an EMP thing going...the farmers will drop like flies then.
"Farmers? No, we're hearing its a military."
"Pfft, a military."
"They have trucks and shit. Tanks. Vertibirds."
"...w-well, those sure do explode nicely...which they will..."
"They're all wearing combat armor and are armed with guns that make our pipe shit look like kids toys"
"...fine. We'll partner with local raiders and take them out as one unified force"
"They killed all local raiders. There are no raiders over there."
"Fucking what."
"There isn't even merc groups anymore because the Minutemen deal with everything"
"Fuck sake. Okay. Well their economy and whatever has to be shit"
"They have no poor people, no rich, no one goes hungry, everyone is clothed, and has access to Healthcare and education. They're having a lot of kids and people get old there. Some people are writing books and music and stuff. Making art again."
It takes maybe a few people reporting back with info before Gage realizes who has plot armor and who doesn't. And Gage, as much as he hates everything that is happening, wants to be an essential NPC. He gets the gangs together, tells them they're fucked if they don't do this right, and they kinda just blow raspberries at him.
Gage is at the Castle doorstep cussing out Isadora's name within a week, and he's the newest adopted adult within a few days.
He fucking hates Isadora and she just kinda treats him like an aggressive purse dog. "Oh, don't mind Gage, he doesn't bite!" (GAGE SNARLING AND FOAMING AT THE MOUTH IN THE BACKGROUND)
"Isa. Is that a fucking raider"
"yeah I found him on the front door I think someone left him :( and it's so cold lately and he looked hungry" (GAGE PISSING ON A MINUTEMAN FLAG AND MAKING BARF NOISES)
"isadora that is a grown man who is a fucking raider"

All Grown Up [Chapter Six]
Tumblr media
roos says ! I promise u, we are getting closer to the fun parts. I also am not sorry for the person I become when there's mutual pining. also this gif is so fricken perfect I had to use it-- thank u op.
desc: It's getting harder and harder to keep yourself in check. And maybe alcohol makes it worse, or maybe it's the fact that Bob is just so sweet.
fluff, with a bit of angst in the middle
notable characters: robert "bob" floyd
TWs: alcohol/drinking, mentions of injury, allusions to fantasized death.
ao3 link ! last chapter ! next chapter
"You're not supposed to be home until noon," You spit out through a shaking breath and a shaky laugh. Bob gives you a half smile.
"Uh, I was gonna surprise you at work." He admits, still keeping his arms wrapped around you. You find that it takes everything in you not to gawk at him.
"Why?"
"It was gonna be a tremendous surprise?" He tries, and you snort, bringing a hand to your face to wipe it as you sink further into his touch. If you could, you would burrow into him to hide away from your embarrassment.
"Are we going to keep ending up like this, hugging and crying?" Bob asks after a moment, and you physically cannot stop the smile that breaks your stoic face.
"Seems so, my knight in shining..." You look at his outfit, "Blue jeans?"
Now it's Bob's turn to laugh, leaning forward to tuck his head by your shoulder, and you sniffle as a grin graces your features. Beside you, Shannon stands back up and puts her hands on her hips.
'Well," she starts, "I've gotta head back so I'll be on time for work today. You both stay safe, alright? Y/n, your boss said it's okay if you go home today."
"Oh, okay," You turn so you can see Shannon as she grabs her car keys, "Thanks for coming out, Shan."
"Of course. I'll see you in July, Y/n." Shannon grins as she starts towards the door, "see you later, Bob!"
"It was nice to meet you, Shannon!" He calls as she ducks out the door with a wave of her hand, leaving you and Bob sitting on the floor in your office. You both sit still for a while before you get a random idea.
"Wanna swim?"
Both of you end up in your pool, Bob lazing in the cool water as the sun beats down in South Carolina. Sunscreen creates a visibly oily sheen across the surface of the water that ripples in the sunlight. While Bob has already sunken into the pool, a sunscreen half washed off his skin while you're only just making it outside. You adjust your sunglasses as you waltz out with one of the newest bikinis you own on your body. It's modest, high-waisted with a thick bandeau top, but it hugs you in all the perfect spots. Though you mostly wear it because it's comfortable, and if you end up tanning, you hope it will fix the slight farmer tan you're noticing on your arms. A case of unopened beer cans that Bob had grabbed on the way to your home sits in the shadow of the pool umbrella, and you bend down to pick it up while Bob turns to look at you. You feel his gaze heavy on you, so you glance over your sunglasses to see his lips slightly gaped as his eyes stare at something below yours. With a snort, you crack open a beer and hand it to him while you grab another from the pack as you step onto the steps leading into your pool.
"You'll catch flies with your lips parted like that, Robby." You tease, sitting in the sun on the step next to him. He brings his beer to his lips, watching as you crack open yours and take a sip.
"I..." The words die in his throat, making you laugh as you give him a tilted head grin.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing!" He exclaims, eyes widening more, if it was possible, "I just... never really see you in much other than blue jeans and a shirt."
You laugh, "Did you forget I have a feminine figure, Rob?"
"I..." He contemplated what he was planning to say for a few seconds before speaking a bit softer, "I guess it's just been a long time since I've seen it."
"Am I getting you bothered?" You say before realizing you should probably censor yourself, considering your mom is in the kitchen making dinner. He scoffs instead, taking another long sip of his drink. You do the same. Once finished, you set your can down and slide until you're off the steps and into the water. The sun's warmed your pool to the perfect temperature, so you dip under the water when your face feels hot, hoping to cool it off. You assume it's from the sun, or maybe you're more of a lightweight than you remember.
When you come up for air, you drag your hands through your hair and float to the wall beside Bob in the shade. Coming to relax with your arms on the wall, you smile at him and lift one hand to absentmindedly run your hand along his scar.
"Are you trying to?" He questions and you blink up at him, watching as he adjusts his glasses so they don't slide off his nose from the inelegant position he cranes his neck down into.
"Not really." You concede, dropping your hand to rest on the concrete by your head again, "I'm just still so astonished little quiet Robby turned into a Naval Aviator who shoots guns and drops bombs and... I don't know. I guess I always knew you had a fire in you, but I never really saw it."
"It's a lot." Bob states, sinking into the water so he can rest his head back on the wall, "I almost dropped out of training five or six times from start to graduation. I'm glad I stuck it through though, I've gotten to meet and work with so many amazing, awe-inspiring people from it."
Your eyes drag to the scar on his shoulder again, then up to the one by his jaw, "Is it worth it? The scars and the terror?"
"Kind of, it always feels good to pull off a mission." He says and you hum, finishing off one can of beer easier than you intend to. The two of you sit in silence for a long time, the soft chirp of the chicks in the far-off coop and the muted sound of your mother's 80s music through one of the upstairs windows being your only company. The alcohol hits you slowly, enough to buzz your thoughts, and you think to yourself: what if there was a day, like in movies, where the officers in their stark uniforms showed up at your door? What if you had to host a funeral for your childhood best friend? Your eyes burn into his scar as you imagine him never coming home from that mission. And you realize it genuinely scares you; it strikes something in your heart that cries, so you find yourself sitting up with drunk discretions.
"Can you make me a stupid promise?"
"Depends on how stupid it is." He chides, and you roll your eyes as he sits up so you both can be face to face without having to be at any more awkward angles.
"Can you promise me you'll always come home? Robby, I just got you back, for real, and I don't know if I'm willing to lose you again." You whisper, "We've clicked back together like puzzle pieces, and I don't know what I'd do with myself if you... well, y'know."
Bob's quiet for a while, his eyes scanning you before his hands are lifted from the water to pull you close. You gratefully accept the hug, burying your face in his skin, soaking in the warmth that tells you he's living.
"I'll always come home to you." He says after giving you a silent moment to soak in the hug, "I always will."
"Please try not to break this one. Tell Phoenix too." You grumble and he laughs, letting one arm drop to grab his beer as your turn, curling against his side. You slot there so naturally just like you always had as a teen.
"I'm sure she'd agree with you." He tilts his head to the side and your noses bump, you blink and feel the heat from before returning to your cheeks as your face flushes bright red. You can see it on his skin too, and you swallow. His eyes flick from your lips to your eyes, then back down, and you find yourself leaning in a bit closer. You can feel his breath on your skin and you let a sly grin slip its way onto your face, watching his cheeks grow redder. You slide a hand up his arm to his shoulder, resting it there as his eyelids flutter at you and his teeth scrape his lip. There's some sort of unspoken conversation in your eyes, permission being asked, and you dip forward to connect. But it never happens.
"Y/n! Rob! Dinner!" Your mom calls from the window, and you both sharply pull apart. There's a beat where you maintain eye contact before he turns, and you stand to follow him out of the pool. Once you start to dry yourself off, you make your way over to the patio, where your mom has set up a nice spread of food to eat. When you look back at Bob, you see him wave as his Mom and Step-Dad walk over from where they'd parked their car, and you sigh, turning back towards your mother as she gives you an all-knowing smile. You pout at her and take your place on the couch, ready to stuff your face full.
--
You don't see Bob the next morning, considering Molly forced him to have a 'tea party sleepover' or something with her. After dinner. It's fine with you because you desperately need sleep and you know if you spend any more time around Bob without a chance to clear your mind you'll be doing other things than sleeping.
You end up spending less time teaching on Thursday than you mean to and when you get home, no one is around, so you take the free time you have before dinner to practice. Fuego is practically bursting out of her pen by the time you get there to let her out and bring her into the small section where you usually bathe and tack her. Immediately, find it hard to tack her up without her getting impatient or trying to run off to go run somewhere on her own, and even if you do find it funny, it's also super fricken annoying. You lead her to the section you'd made for practicing and mount. The second you get on her saddle, one you'd customized after realizing you wanted to barrel race for real, she's bucking around and flinging her head. It takes a bit of fighting to get her to relax, but if Fuego is anything, she's loyal.
"Alright, girl." You say to her, "You ready to run?"
She starts thrashing out of excitement, but she holds back, waiting for the crack of your reins and the whistle you'll let out. You go to start but hesitate when you hear random voices approaching, but it's not enough to make you stop.
"Fuego!" You shout and then whistle, and she takes off. You round the first barrel with ease, and she runs a little slow to the second, her turn around the third knocks the barrel but doesn't make it fall, and her straightaway run is as perfect as it usually is. Once you get her to calm, knowing her first run is always a bit messy, you bring her through again, this time making sure to feel the path as she runs it. You feel better about the run, and fish a treat out of your pocket as a reward for doing well, when you hear someone wolf whistle. Fuego snorts.
"Bob wasn't lying when he said you were a glass of water." The voice says and you turn your head, hand coming to the brim of your cowboy hat as you adjust it so it actually blocks all the sun from your eyes.
"Who the hell are you?" You ask, looking at the man who leans on the fence, he laughs waving a hand.
"No real flirts here, don't worry." He grins up at you, aviators reflecting the sun a bit as he tilts his head up, "Bradley. Rooster, he's probably called me."
"He has." You say, "You wanna keep bothering my practice, or will you shut up and watch quietly?"
"I'll shut up, Ma'am." He salutes you and you roll your eyes, bringing Fuego back around to where you start Fuego for her runs. You huff, bringing your head down to brush her mane as you take a breath and think of how to adjust your grips or calls for the next run. Fuego stomps and paces a bit, making you grin as you sit back up, pulling her reins to get her to walk to the side so you can restart.
"Fuck it up, Y/n!" You hear Jake call and you shake your head.
"Fuck off, Seresin." You say, but nevertheless, now with an audience, you start the path. And, to be fair, it's probably the best you've run it in a while. It's not perfect by a long shot, but you do pretty well. The team cheers you on, and you bow with extra drama, quickly dismounting from Fuego and bringing her back into the barn. You'll practice more later, but for now, you have quite a few pilots to meet after you untack her.
You don't know if you're nervous, or really weirdly excited to finally meet them all.

a/n: a little series? this one's probably gonna have another chapter or two hehe <3
𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲'𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 | 𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭
---
Andy's stomach churned when he sees you. In a very good way. It's been a good two years since the break up and he can barely believe that he's seeing you right then and there— in the corner of the cafe that Andy knows you love going to. Your voice made his heart flip. It's so goddamn beautiful and Andy misses it so damn much.
He doesn't even know why he's so stunned at the sight of you. It's the only reason why he's there— why he's always going there almost every weekend, hoping to get a glimpse of you sometime. You're in the fuzzy, furry jacket that you're always wearing on chilly days, your hair pulled up with a claw clip and your laptop right in front of you with a cup of coffee right by the side.
He tried to get over you, he really did. But even after all the women he met after you, no one made him feel the same way you did. The butterflies in his stomach he gets just talking to you like some teenager, or how his heart just flutters when you smiled at him with that beautiful grin.
Andy couldn't help but look at you every two minutes, while he's waiting in the queue for his turn. He's thinking of what to say if he even has the guts to walk up to you and say hi.
The break up wasn't necessarily bad... it was mutual. Kinda. You were in the middle of your studies and you just wanted to focus on doing well and getting your masters. It's not that Andy was a distraction— really, he actually helped a lot. But between studying and trying to make sure you don't abandon Andy, you realised that taking a break would be good for the both of you.
You were young, only 24 while Andy was 14 years older than you are. He's so mature and wise that you just felt that you just wanted to grow as your own person before you and Andy took it any further and got more serious. You thought that you'd work on yourself, fixing up your flaws and make yourself just grow into a better version of yourself. And as much as Andy disagreed, he didn't want to force you to keep being with him. He thought that maybe, you both could just grow as time passes, and that you can change right next to him.
But he just agreed with you, because he definitely does not want to pressure you into being in a relationship with him no matter how much he actually wants you to stay with him. So technically, it was a mutual break-up to you. But he didn't really feel the same.
And unsurprisingly, Andy simply cannot get over you. Two years passed, and he just wishes that you're by his side again.
"Hi! What can I get for you?"
Andy snaps out of his trance, stepping towards the cashier and ordering his coffee to-go with a bagel as well. He takes a quick glance at you before he decides to change his mind. "Actually— I'll just have those here."
Wait— you recognise that voice.
You instantly glance up from the screen of your laptop, watching the familiar back and broad shoulders standing at the cashier. Holy fuck- Andy?
Your gaze turns back down to your laptop, your mind trying to decide between approaching him or just letting him go... again... like you did 2 years ago. He still fits into those polo tees like a glove, the jeans barely doing his ass justice but it really accentuates his goddamn thighs.
Fuck. Two damn years and you still have it bad for him.
"Can I join?" Andy glances down at some blueprint or floor-plan thing you have on your laptop. "Unless I'm interrupting— you look busy."
"Andy—" You turned to him and back to the opened floor-plan on the screen. "No, no. Hey-" You lowered the screen and put it aside, leaving some space for Andy. You gestured at him to join you in the booth.
Andy takes up the offer, setting the cup in his hand and the bagel right in front of you before he slides in. "Hey,"
You let out a breathy laugh as you look at him, fidgeting with your fingers underneath the table. "Been a long time."
"Yeah," He nods, offering you one of his adorable smiles as he rests his forearms on the table. "I stopped seeing you around, thought you moved away."
"I thought you did— till I heard the news talking about one of your cases." You retort, lips curling into a soft smile. "How've you been, Andy?"
"Same old, y'know. Long hours at the office and takeout nights. Nothing really changed." Andy grins, "How's everything goin' for ya?"
Oh— and he definitely isn't wrong when he said 'nothing really changed'. For this 40-year-old man to still look like the Andrew Stephen Barber you met like 4 years ago? Phew.
"Uhm- pretty good! I'm uh- I just signed a contract with Perkins and Will."
Andy's lips curled into a wide grin. "You did it!"
He remembers?
Your head tilts as you look at him. "You remember?"
"Of course, hon. That's your dream firm." He reaches over table and pats your hand. "I'm happy for you, Y/n."
"Thank you, Andy," You brush a hand through your hair, eyeing Andy in his whole polo tee and jeans glory. "I'm surprised you aren't working on a Saturday morning,"
Andy lets out a laugh at your words, "Yeah- I just thought, y'know. Uh- I'm old enough to stop being such a workaholic."
You raised a brow at that, "Andy, you aren't old." You give him a suggestive glance as your eyes trace his whole figure. "Definitely don't look like it."
"I'll say the same thing for ya, Y/n." Andy didn't bother hiding his gaze either, eyes trailing down your body till it's back up to your face. "Two damn years and you still look as gorgeous as ever, sweetheart."
A breathy laugh leaves your lips. "Always as flattering as ever, Mr Barber."
"You know I'm an honest person, sweetheart." Andy winks before he takes a sip of his coffee.
You hum as you run your finger on the edge of your own cup. "I remember you telling me that all lawyers are really good liars."
You love how familiar this feels. It's like nothing has changed and both of you are back in 2019. Good, good days. Letting Andy go was a dumb move on your side, you realised that pretty soon after the break-up. You should've known that you and Andy would've made it work someway, somehow.
"C'mon, honey. Y'know I can never lie to you." The wide smile he has on his lips is as charming as ever and god if it doesn't just make you fall in love again- as if you ever fell out of love with him in the first place. Andy clears his throat, a hand inching to the back of his neck and softly rubbing the spot. You instantly realised that he's a little nervous. "You dating anyone?"
You let out an almost silent snort, scoffing at his question. "Ya think? I just called you hot five minutes ago, handsome."
Andy takes a bite of his bagel, looking up at you through those goddamn long eyelashes as his mouth moves to chew the food and those fucking pink lips making you stare at him like a horny teenager.
"You've got to stop staring at me like that, sweetheart." He warns, but the glint in his eyes is telling you that he really doesn't mind you staring him up like that.
Your brows raised immediately in defence. "Like what?"
You tried your best to fight the grin fighting its way to form on your lips. But Andy is a goddamn lawyer, after all. He knows his shit and he knows that you're just being a tease.
He huffs, brow arched as he looks at you. "Like you wanna eat me." He replies shortly, lips curling into a smirk. "Cause I was planning to take this slow after 2 whole years. And you aren't helping."
You hum, picking your cup up and taking a sip from it, hiding the grin forming on your lips behind the cup. "You can still wine and dine me if you wanna." You set the cup down and lean forward, head tilted to one side with your head resting in your palm. "But y'know, I'm pretty impatient."
Andy laughs, backing away from you and resting back against his seat. "Guess it's good that I've got enough patience for both of us, huh?"
You laugh at his words. "We'll see, Mr Barber."
He takes your words as an invite to ask you out. "Dinner tonight? My place."
You playfully rolls your eyes, ignoring the little flutter in your heart. "Who's impatient now?"
"It's a yes or no question, sweetheart."
"Still that cute little loft?"
"I'll text you my new address later."
You couldn't fight the grin forming on your lips. "It's a date."
---
He was at the grocery store when he pulled out his phone and goes to your contact to shoot you a text. It has always been there, saved and never deleted. He didn't want to get rid of the hope that he might have you back.
Andy: 242 Warren St [sent 3.24pm]
Andy: See you tonight, sweetheart. [sent 3.25pm]
You didn't reply so Andy just assumed that you read it. He's looking forward to seeing you again tonight and he's excited.
---
It wasn't till you got home that you realised that Andy doesn't have your new number.

Familiar stranger | Helmut Zemo

Female Reader!
The moment is eyes had landed on you, so many things happened at once. He zoned out Sam and Bucky, he took a step away from you, his heart seemed to clench in his chest, and all he could think was 'it can't be.'
Right there in front of him was the spitting image of his wife. Well, maybe not exactly, but you did hold such a resemblance to her. It was like she was right there with him again.
You were looking at him. The others too, but it was you he found hard to look away from.
"Who are you?" He asks, needing to know if his mind was playing tricks on him.
"Y/N."
A sigh of relief escaped him. Was he relieved though?
He was obviously making you uncomfortable with the way he was looking at you, so he turned his head away. Yet, your presence felt loud. He would never be able to look at you without seeing her.
It got worse.
In Madripoor you were required to wear a disguise. You were the last to come out in the clothes he had got for you, and once again he was struck by the sight of his wife.
Often they would both dress up and go out for the evening. The outfit he had chosen, though he wasn't sure if this was intentional or not, really made you resemble her all the more.
He couldn't take it.
Zemo avoided all eye contact with you. He focused his attention on the boys, finding it easier that way. Even when he stated your role in this he wouldn't look directly at you.
You wondered if you had done something to offend him, which kind of hurt. You always did your best to get on with anyone you worked with, but obviously that wasn't happening here.
Perhaps it was best to stay out of his way.
Things took a turn: a bounty was placed on your heads because of the death of Selby, all of Madripoor was coming for you, and Sharon popped out of nowhere to rescue you.
Back at her place, you changed into something less flashy. You wanted to tone down the outfit a bit and wear something a little more you.
Zemo couldn't help thinking that you looked much better this way. Though he still saw his wife's face, you looked more like you. You suited you.
Down in the club it was easy to avoid you. Zemo blended into the crowd... kind of, and you stuck to the other side, enjoying your own time here.
You left before all of them.
When the boys left the club and went back upstairs, they found you sleeping on the sofa. You had kicked off your shoes and, obviously, made yourself comfortable.
He couldn't look away.
Zemo sat down near by and looked at you. This was a good chance to look at you without making you uncomfortable.
"How can you look so much like her, yet be so different too?" He whispered the question.
Not really realising what he was doing, he tucks some hair away from your face. You can't possibly be all that comfortable or warm here. Not wanting to overstep any boundaries by carrying you to your room, he gently lifts your head enough to put a cushion under it. He then grabs his coat and drapes it over you gently.
He leaves you to sleep in peace.
You wake up rather slowly. You had been extremely tired when you got back last night. You had enough fun in the club and excused yourself, passing Bucky on the way out.
You sit up. The coat falls from your shoulders and into your lap.
Zemo's coat.
You blink away any tiredness to examine it, running your fingers across the fur. It was soft.
Why did you have his coat?
It dawned on you that he must have out it there himself. No one else would touch it otherwise.
It smells like him.
You look up when you hear someone approaching. It's the man himself. He stops like a deer in headlights when your eyes meet his. Before he can turn around and leave, yoy call out to him.
"Wait!"
He stays standing, looking at you curiously. It still hurts to look at you, but your voice is so much different, it makes him remember who he is looking at.
"Thank you."
He looks at the way you're holding his coat. The way your have a hand resting over the fur collar, clearly finding the feel of it satisfying.
For some reason that pleased him.
"You're welcome."
You smile. It's not her smile. It's your smile. He likes it.
You stand up and hold his coat carefully, taking the utmost care in handling it. You held it out to him when you stopped a little closer to him.
He takes it. His eyes never leave you. This is the longest he has looked at you at any one moment.
You're still smiling.
"I have to ask," you begin, "have I done something to offend you?"
His lips part ever so slightly as be tilts his head a tiny bit.
"Offend me?"
"Yes. This is the most you've looked at me since we met. You don't really talk to me and you seem to avoid me when possible." You gaze down at the floor.
He can hear the disappointment in your voice. He can see the way your hands fidget in front if you.
It seemed to really bother you that he was avoiding you.
"It's nothing you have done."
You look at him with concern.
"Something I've said?" Not that you've spoken to him much.
"No."
"Then, please, tell me how I can fix whatever this is. I would quite like for us to get along while we work together," you were pretty much pleading with him.
He clutches his coat, but you don't seem to notice.
"You remind me of my wife."
The way your head shoots up to look at him tells him he caught your attention. There was no going back now.
"You look so much like her and I can't take it," he whispers. "It is not your fault at all, but I cannot look at the face of someone I loved and failed greatly."
You're at a loss for words.
"But I know you're not her. The way you speak, the way you dress, the way you look when you're sleeping soundly... that's all you."
You stand there quietly.
"If you'll excuse me." He turns on his heel and leaves the room.
Helmut doesn't speak to you at all at the dock. He ignores you further on the plane to Latvia. You find yourself looking at him a lot more, but he doesn't even glance your way.
When you arrive at the safe-house, you immediately seek out a bedroom and try to stay out of everyone's way.
Sam comes to look for you. He can see something has happened and he's concerned it's a problem.
"Y/N? Open up."
You open the door to him.
"What happened?"
"What do you mean?" You ask, trying to sound as casual as possible.
"Between you and Zemo. You're ignoring each other more than usual. If this is going to be a problem, I think we should at least talk about it."
"I think it's best I tap out now. You still need Zemo, right?" You ask, avoiding his eyes.
"Possibly, but not for much longer. Why? What's happened?"
"I think I'm making it difficult for him. He told me, back in Madripoor, that I look a lot like his wife and I think it's hard for him to look at me. I don't want to be the reason the job fails."
Sam wrapped an arm around you and pulled you into his side.
"That's not going to happen. If you want to stay here, I'm sure that's fine, but just know we could really use your help."
"I think I'll stay here. You can call me if you need me."
"Alright, we're not going anywhere just yet, so you'll have to deal with Zemo being around a little longer."
"I know."
Sam gave you a slight squeeze and left you in peace. Zemo was waiting downstairs when he returned. The Baron was kind of disappointed to find that Sam was alone.
You were avoiding him too. He supposed he deserved that.
"How is she?"
"Fine. She'll probably stay in her room for a while. She's decided to stay back for now, so we'll be dealing with the Flag Smahsers without her," Sam explained.
Zemo didn't mean for that to happen.
There was another knock at your door. You called for them to enter, expecting it to be Bucky coming to see you, but it wasn't.
"Oh, Zemo."
He closed the door behind him and walked over to you, but still maintained a comfortable distance between you.
"You're not coming with us?"
"Thought it would be better if I didn't tag along any more. They need you more than me right now," you speak softly, playing with the corner of your pillow next to you.
You hear Zemo sigh gently. The mattress sinks down next to you as he sits down.
"They need you too."
You shrug.
"I didn't mean for you drop out of the mission. I shouldn't have said anything."
"No. I'm glad you did. I feel better knowing the reason why you can't look at me."
"Who's not looking now?"
You look up. His dark gaze is on you. He had been looking at you from the moment he entered the room.
He smiles.
"Won't it be difficult working with me if I'm there? I'm worried I'll jeopardise the whole thing."
He reaches out and he takes your hand.
"No. I did some thinking on the plane. I've spent too much time living in my past already, I won't let you back out of the plan because of my foolishness. I had no idea it would bother you so much that I was avoiding you." He gives your hand a little squeeze.
"I'm surprised too, you know. It kind of bothered me that you wouldn't even talk to me unless absolutely necessary."
"Apologies. I am a fool."
"No, you're not," you chuckle softly.
The smile he gives you sets the butterflies off in your stomach.
"Who is it you see now?" You ask, whispering.
"You. Just you."
You bite your lip shyly and shuffle a little closer.
"Then, I changed my mind. You'll have to put up with me when we go get the bad guys."
Zemo laughs.
"Poor me."
You rest your head against his shoudler. You don't know what it is about him, but there was something there that made you want to know him. If he would let you, you wanted to get closer to him.
Even if his freedom was short lived.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Several days ago, it was just an idea. A laughing matter. A ‘what-if’ to build scenarios on and giggle.
Several days ago, it was night time too, the taste of alcohol fresh, her laugh right beneath your ear, it was warm, and bubbly and there was a sense of direction, a certainty.
Several days ago your friend hadn’t suddenly announced dropping out and moving out of the shared apartment you two had yet. Maybe she had been considering for a while now but in that very moment, it hadn’t happened yet, your world wasn’t upside down.
“Just imagine!-“ her breath fawned over your ear, glasses clinking against one another. “So I’m talking to this guy, right? Like music stuff, and movies, and all. No feelings whatsoever,” you found it hard not to roll your eyes and was met with a shove. “Not like that!” she protested. “He tells me about his boyfriend, I even helped him plan a surprise party once.”
“You cannot know if he’s faking…” you remember saying, in that knowing tone, smooth like silk and lecturing. “Yea whatever. Anyways! Get this:” placing the glass down in concentration that was foreign to her, you were intrigued.
“They don’t have vampires.”
“No way.” Slowing taking another sip from your drink, it sounded like a fantasy almost. Sure, there were rumors of not every country having vampires but it was numbered, there were so little, and the vampires? They were ever present.
“So he says: ‘Hey, aren’t they all rich peeps always wanting fresh blood? What if you have lots of blood already, and make a deal? You can trick them to pay you loads for it and you’d not even have to have them near your neck!’-“ she paused to let out a bark, you’re sure she’s been doing it since she first saw the message.
“And-“ another pause, to shed a tear, “and he says, ‘and if the vampire is hot? Bonus points! They got those fancy houses, you’d no longer pay rent either.’” The mocking of the voice comes to an end. “Can you believe? A deal, with a Vampire of all people! And he says rent fixed!”
You had to admit, for someone who claims to not met any vampires, it sounded charming on paper, but in Yokahoma?, not so much. At a moment of weakness, you looked at one another, daring, and next, breaking into a fit of laughter and downing the glass in one gulp.
Tumblr media
How many days has it been since that night? Five? Maybe seven? It was long enough to miss her presence now, but too short to be threatened by the landlord.
One night you’re at your favorite pub with your dearest friend downing drink after drink. You can remember the stars in the sky that night, you thought it was just your brain imagining it, as well as the crescent moon hanging so delicately.
And next thing you know, you’ve just left this bar, despite the temperature it was cold on your bones, and here stands the redhead, his breath fawning over your neck, mouth open, but not to tell a story for the laughs.
He didn’t bother to hide the fangs and you didn’t bother to leave the place.
An idea you called stupid few nights ago just happened to make sense in that sad sulking state. And then he had to appear, with a glass of expensive wine, locks covering his face just fine, a vest that fits his body perfectly and fangs shining under the dim lights of the bar.
Tumblr media
“Oh-kay, that’s enough.” You push his face off with your palm in one go. The ‘thump’ of his hat falling on the floor and the yelp coming from his lips fill the air.
“You’re no fun.” he pouts as he picks up his hat.
“So, how we’re doing this? And no, you cannot drink straight from my neck!” you finish before he can raise a finger.
A moment of silence follows the two of you, it’s a nice place. Expensive looking furniture though it’s more like a house from a catalogue than a home. Still, impressive –he, ‘what was his name again?’, definitely has a taste. The empty crystal glasses sit on the table, next to the bottle, a candle close to burning out completely flickers its flame lazily as your eyes wander.
Your gaze moves onto his sapphire eyes then, watching your every move and breath carefully, but not patiently. You can hear him vibrate with every molecule in his body, trying so hard not to lunge forward or speak up, maybe grab your arm and pull you back towards his chest.
“So? Hello?..” you drag the the ‘o’ and wave a hand in front of his face, “Anyone home?”
Like someone hypnotized stepping out of a trance at a snap of fingers, he jolts, pupils narrow, then widen and focus on your face. “Ah, sorry-“ he starts walking away.
Then he fakes a cough, as if you didn’t catch him staring already… Just how the hell did you find this guy in a city filled with vampires?
He stops, turns back, reaches for your hand and you let him. “Did you drink the wine?” he walks a step ahead, still hand in hand.
“If you ask me one more time, I’ll start suspecting you added some sort of drug.” This seems to get to him, obvious from the way he almost trips on his foot and turns back in a hurry, both hands up in defense and shaking his head like crazy.
“Wh- No- No, no no! It’s nothing like that- I-“ if he didn’t look so embarrassed, you’d even say he looks flustered. His rambling stops when you snort and decide to take pity on the guy.
“Relax I was just joking.” His shoulder drop in relief. “Besides, if you put anything, it’d have kicked in by now.”
“Ah, yeah, right…” he looks down, to his right, and that’s when you see the velvet couch there. He extends his hand, in an offering manner and follows you right after.
Reaching for a pocket in his vest, he whispers to himself, you barely hear. “I just like the taste of wine in blood...”
“Weird, not what I expected, but could be worse. I’ll take it.”
Another silence follows, he avoids your gaze while your eyes never leave his eyes fumbling with his vest and cape. Maybe it’s like one of those cape like jackets, certainly matches the vibe he carries.
Under the shivering candle light, he looks so different from the bold smug suave guy who brimmed with confidence, flashed his teeth like nothing, as if the world belongs to him and anything that does not care for him simply does not exist.
And now with the same face, sits besides you someone else, eyes cast down, hands fumbling, there’s comfort in knowing this is as awkward for you as for him.
(You wonder for a second if there’s something you can do to clear the atmosphere.)
“Maybe you should be having another glass instead of asking me.” You try to say nonchalantly and it takes him a second to get what you mean. Then he smiles, and the hint of a small giggle comes out and his body seems to calm down.
“Give me your hand.” He holds out his, the palm facing the ceiling. “Well? This is the easiest way to do it without leaving permanent marks.” He sounds irritated.
“Or noticeable.” You say and he repeats, a little impatient.
Giving him your less dominant hand, you eye the dagger for as long as you can. When the cold blade meets your palm, you can barely feel its weight.
“Okay, I’ll be honest here.” He stops midway, the dagger in the air. You raise an eyebrow, signaling him to continue. “I’ve never done… this before.”
“So- uh- whatever’s the standart payment, or the whole, you know,” he waves the hand holding the dagger in the air “etiquette for this.” He sounds to be relaxing with each word. And with him, so do you. Then comes back that familiar confidence from the earlier, decorated with a hint of threat and a dare. “Just- Don’t ever try to scam or fool me.”
And goes away the determined face, replaced with surprise, as you start laughing loud, one hand over your stomach.
“Look, listen-“ you stop as you’ve begun. “Chuuya.” He fills the gap for you.
“Listen, Chuuya.” You test his name on your lips. “I’m a broke college student who can get kicked out of their flat any day now. Crossing a vampire is the last thing on my list, trust me.”
Eyes soften, a genuine smile blooms and the silence to follow isn’t heavy anymore.
When he slashes the dagger over your hand, it doesn’t sting. The blood soon reaches the surface, red thick liquid glistening in the candle’s flame, ‘life’ it says.
This is what they want, why they want it, drink it, kill for it.
Hidden in the blood, is life, with all it has seen and will see, warm, moving, trusting.
You watch in a daze as he brings your hand to his mouth. Cold lips make content with your skin, how cold and lifeless they feel against you, you see in clear contrast. The sinking of teeth doesn’t come, you don’t flinch. You can tell he’s making an effort not to bite too hard into your giving hand. Drinking the blood slowly, trying to contain himself from getting greedy, there’s no sound in the air except for your loud heartbeat, echoing in your ear and fastening with each move of his back.
The glimpse of a smile you catch in this scene before you tells, he can hear it too, and probably relish in it.
With each flicker of the flame, his lips start to feel warmer and soon he straightens up. Not a single speck of blood on his frame, he offers you the same smug smile from earlier.
Blood makes place for itself on his face, like roses blooming under the sun. His skin gains color, you didn’t notice just how dull and gray he was up until now. Life spreads so fast in his limbs, soon you can feel his warmth near you, in the air, in your hand, on the spot your knees touch. Once the base color is done, pink decorates his cheeks faintly, most likely an after effect of all that wine.
Maybe if he intervened his fingers with yours, it’d feel warmer, and in a weird way, safer.
Watching your eyes on him with amusement in his crystal ones, he seems to enjoy this, that is until his eyes focus on a spot of yours and cannot stop examining every other spot, every single pore, mark, hair and color you have, memories you carry.
The flicker of the light blends in, the warmth pulls the two of you in, time feels gone, like it never existed, maybe nothing every existed except for the two of you sitting before each other.
A sudden crash, from the outside and the magic is gone with a snap.
Noticing your hands, you pull it back to your chest fast.
His goes back to his head and he looks away, anther shy smile on his face.
“What- How should we proceed next?” he breaks the silence first, attempting to gather back a sense of seriousness to his voice. In a way, he should too, this is technically business, isn’t it?
Glancing at your palm, you open and close it few times. Not a speck of pain is there.
“Once every week maybe? If that’s alright. Although we may cancel few weeks, you never know what comes up last minute.”
The dagger nowhere in sight, probably returned to a pocket of his already, he looks pleased with your reply. “Sounds good to me.”
Without further ado, you get up to look for the door you first walked in.
“Wait!-“ he follows in a hurry, almost slipping, again, and trying to find something in his jacket.
Go you! For forgetting why you agreed to a vampire’s house in the first place. “Is- uh- is this alright? Or is it so little? We never discussed payment, y’know.” He holds out a lot more than you expected, but then again, vampires live for thousands of years. He must have quite the amount lying around somewhere after all.
Unsure what to do with the money he slips into your hand, you meet his eyes. “That’s… more than enough actually. Thanks.”
He rests one hand on hip, taking in your surprised face. “Don’t mention it. I’ve got plenty.” Touching your elbow lightly, he guides you to the door, dragging his feet. By the time you reach the door, he makes no move to open it, not that it was ever locked in the first place.
Turning of the knob, you take a step ahead, motions limited on both sides; dragging, waiting for something to happen, something to be said, for the air to be broken.
By the time you’re one foot outside, he clears his throat with a fake cough, covering his mouth. “Same time, same place, next week?” his gaze cast on the floor, stealing glances to see what you will do next.
You turn to him with a smile. “Works for me.” And tilt your head “but what if one of us cannot find the other?”
“Oh I’ll find you alright.” He chuckles with a grin. Truly a sight to sell the whole vampire image he got going, even if he hadn’t been one.
Feet standing next to each other, you’re out now, furrowing your eyebrows with a look of disapproval to match his grin, unimpressed.
“You sound like a creep. Don’t do it again.”
And with it, you turn your back to him, already on your way. The ginger left behind, an unfinished “okay” hanging on his lips, eyes focused on your form, swallowed by the shadows, waiting for the next night to be spent with you, already impatient.

I return from the dead with a fic that isn't even for the Naruto fandom and I don't really have an explanation for myself.
Pairing: SamBucky Word count: 2317 Fandom: MCU Summary: Visiting Steve was always strange now that the guy was old and retired. Still, of all the things Sam expected out of today, witnessing a prime example of gay panic from the co-worker that's been mysteriously avoiding him was not one of them.
Follow the link or read it under the cut!
KO-FI and commission info under the header!
Honestly, the fact that Steve's house smelled like prunes was probably one of the funniest things that Sam had ever heard in his life. More than anything he would have loved to go back in time, to the days of reading about glorified heroes in history textbooks, and tell his fifteen year old self that Captain America, Steve Rogers, retired in a house that smelled like prunes. God, his best friend just had to throw himself in to being old the way he threw himself in to everything else.
"Is there a special reason for you visiting?" Steve's voice was more tremulous these days, less steady but no less warm. Just hearing him again after the shameful amount of weeks it had been since his last visit made Sam grin.
"Nah, just thought I'd pop in and see if you'd expired yet. Your birthday's coming up. Gonna be, what, three hundred? A thousand?"
Steve narrowed his eyes but there was fondness in them so it wasn't very scary even if he could probably still tackle Sam across the room if he wanted to. At this point it would hurt him too but he could do it. "You, young man, are-"
He looked chagrined at himself when Sam cut him off with a laugh.
"You shitting me? Did you really just call me young man? See if I ever let you live that down."
His friend grumbled but accepted the teasing as his due. That was just what he got for going back in time and doubling down on being so much older than his own best friends.
Since it had indeed been a little too long after they last saw each other there was quite a bit of catching up for them to do. Over cool glasses of sweet tea and a plate of cookies the two of them spent a pleasant couple of hours shooting the shit until Sam could almost forget the years that stretched between them now. It was jarring, sometimes, looking away from those clear blue eyes to realize all over again just how many wrinkles they were set in. Sometimes he hated it. Other times he could only smile to know that at least one of their ragtag bunch had found the peace they were looking for.
Eventually all that sweet tea went right to his bladder and Sam excused himself to use the bathroom. When he returned he took in the sight of his friend all snug under one of the blankets his late wife had knit and sighed, feeling maudlin suddenly for no good reason.
"I should probably get out of your hair," he said. "Let you get in your afternoon nap or whatever. No, stay there man, I'll clean up." His smile was easy as he snagged the dishes from their grazing and hauled it all over to the kitchen.
"You sure?" Steve's voice floated after him. "Nothing else you want to get off your chest?"
"Huh?"
Sam frowned at the cups he'd just placed in the sink, running back through his mind. They'd talked about pretty much everything he could think of.
"You didn't mention Buck once, you know. I thought the two of you were friends now."
"Ah. Yeah. So did I." The corners of his mouth twisted with a little bitterness, a little confusion. After everything they'd been through and the number of times Bucky had accepted his invitations down to Delacroix he'd thought they were well past the point of calling themselves friends. Maybe he himself felt something a little more than that but he knew better than to push.
That was probably why Bucky's sudden radio silence hurt so much though.
"Trouble in paradise?" Steve called from the other room and Sam snorted.
“Shit, I don’t know. One minute we’re fine and the next he just up and disappears on me again. I may or may not have checked a bunch of obituaries for your name just in case because I have no idea what I might have done to piss him off.” Sam pursed his lips. He’s already gone over all this with Sarah a half dozen times and in all the recounts he’d done of their last couple missions he still couldn’t find any particularly bad moment between him and his best friend. Unfortunately the sweet tea he was glaring at didn’t have any answers either so he snatched the pitcher up and moved to put it in the fridge.
“Have you tried, oh I don’t know, asking him what’s wrong?”
“You think I didn’t try that?”
Steve’s hum drifted down the hallway with a distinct note of sass. “Neither one of you is very famous for your communication.”
“Excuse you, I was a counselor. A certified veteran’s counselor. Communicating with people was literally my job until your overly buff ass came running around all ‘on your left’ and ‘everyone I know is trying to kill me’.” Sam huffed as he snapped the fridge closed. “I damn well tried to talk to him but he’s not answering my texts or my calls. Short of breaking in to his apartment I don’t really know what else you want me to do.”
Without any other excuses to keep him in the kitchen Sam heaved a sigh, knowing he couldn’t dawdle any longer. He could only get to the door by going though the living room so his choices were either run away out the back, which he would never ever hear the end of, or go back in to the living room and face Steve with his stupidly wise and knowing eyes. Seriously, let a guy live to almost two hundred and suddenly he thought he knew everything. Annoying was what it was.
He was only halfway down the hall when he heard the front door open. Sam very carefully swallowed down the jibe he’d just been about to deliver and hoped that meant what he thought it meant. Maybe Steve had finally gone vague after all and bailed in the middle of their conversation; he’d rather chase a crazy old coot down the street than talk about his feelings regarding one James Buchanan Barnes. Actually if he looked at it from the right angle then chasing an old coot down the street was pretty much his job description whenever he and his partner teamed up on missions. Sam was just glad they hadn’t been called in to one since this whole silent treatment had started because he wasn’t sure he wanted to know whether or not Bucky would still have his back even when the guy was mad at him over reasons unknown.
Two more steps and Sam froze in his tracks, eyes wide with disbelief. Bucky’s shoulders were hunched in to himself with something bridling on panic as he fit himself through the front door and kicked it shut behind himself, eyes wild and fixed on the ground between his feet, nervous energy pouring out of him in a way Sam hadn’t seen before. From his spot on the couch Steve watched his childhood friend let himself in with serene indifference.
“Didn’t know you’d be over today,” was all he said. Then he smiled benignly when Bucky let out a soft whine.
“Help,” Bucky pleaded. “I’m dying.”
Then Bucky slid down to his knees and face planted in the carpet, arms and legs splaying out wide. Steve hummed.
“You know,” he murmured, “no one ever believes me when I tell them you’re this dramatic.”
“Steve! I’m having a crisis!”
“I tell everyone you’re a drama queen and they just shake their heads at me.”
“This is important! You have to kill me, Steve. Or I’m gonna just- just-!” Bucky’s voice petered out with another extended whine muffled by the carpet that probably didn’t smell any better from that close up.
Crossing one leg over the other, Steve folded his hands in his lap with a great lack of concern for the ridiculous scene playing out before him. Sam remained frozen in the hallway, wondering if Bucky even realized he was there, but he got an answer to that almost faster than if he’d bothered to ask himself.
“What’s wrong, pal?”
“It’s Sam!” Bucky cried. His arms lifted up like wings to flail briefly before falling back to the floor in a boneless sprawl. “Please just crush my head or something. I can’t take this.”
“Ah, yes, I hear you’ve been avoiding him.”
Whatever kind of noise Bucky was trying to make, it came out sounding more like he was choking on carpet fumes. “Of course I’m avoiding him!”
“Now why on earth would you do that?”
“I want to stick my tongue in the gap between his teeth!” Bucky said, entirely unaware of the sparks that were suddenly running up Sam’s spine in the hallway. “Help me, Steve! I want to press my thumb in the little dimple on his back. He has a dimple on his back! Why!? Steve I want to hold his hand! What the fuck!”
Steve had both eyebrows up near his hairline and the most shit eating grin any human on the planet had ever worn when he turned his head to look at Sam. Frozen with his eyes on the figure currently panicking in to the floor, Sam paid him no attention. He was busy processing. After getting to know Bucky, inviting him to stay in Delacroix time and time again, the dramatics weren’t actually that much of a surprise. Obviously as they grew closer he’d gotten a number of glimpses in to who the real Bucky Barnes was under the grouchy veneer he presented to the world. Watching him starfish on the ground and whine wasn’t too far from what he’d already seen.
Hearing him say anything about his tongue in conjecture with Sam’s teeth, on the other hand, now that was a bit unexpected. More than a bit.
“I think Shuri called this ‘gay panic’ and honestly I’m in agreement,” Bucky went on mindlessly. “If I have to watch him go through one more workout and not grab his ass with both hands then I’m just going to rip both of them off. Who needs hands if I cannot grab Sam Wilson’s ass with them!?”
“You may be slightly exaggerating the situation, I feel,” Steve told him.
Bucky snorted. “I am not. I absolutely am not. Why is he so hot? And nice? I hate that. Except I don’t. Steve why is he so nice to me?”
“That might be a question you should ask him.”
“Oh yeah, sure, I’ve got lots of questions for him! Hey Sam, why are you nice to me? Hey Sam, can I lick your cheekbones? Hey Sam, how big is your cock?”
“Well. Not that I’ve ever thought to ask that myself but, alright. Go on, Sam, how big is it?”
Sam had just enough time to cross his arms over his chest and assume a very casual pose leaning against the wall beside him before Bucky’s head shot up off the carpet. If possible, his eyes were even more wild than before when he fixed them on Steve, full of the deepest betrayal. Then he very slowly dragged them sideways to see the man he’d just been panicking over. Sam gave him a very friendly smile.
“Depends on your frame of reference,” he admitted. “I’d say sizeable.”
“Nnnggggg.”
“Hi Buck.”
“Ggnnn.”
While Steve very poorly disguised a laugh behind one hand, Sam pushed off from the wall and sauntered further in to the living room. Bucky slammed his face back in to the carpet.
“Leave me here to die,” he pleaded in a very small voice. Sam tutted, reaching for the front door, only looking over his shoulder once he was halfway through it.
“Come on, Buck, can’t lick my cheekbones if you don’t get off the floor. It was a nice visit, Steve, but don’t be looking out your front curtains for a bit. I think I’ll let Bucky decide for himself what sizeable means.” He thanked god for the mercy of Steve’s house being situated out here so far from any other homes, surrounded on all sides by enough trees that you couldn’t see it from the road. A gorgeous little island of privacy. Sam was fairly sure he wasn’t the only one grateful for this, judging by the mad scrambling noises he could hear going on behind him.
Bucky’s voice garbled out something that sounded like ‘fuck you, thank you, bye forever’ and then Sam was listening to the slam of the front door barely a second before strong hands were wrapping themselves around his hips. He laughed even as Bucky’s face came in to view.
“Greatest assassin of several generations and you didn't notice my truck in the driveway?” he said.
“I may have been a bit distracted.” That was definitely a pout on Bucky’s lips.
“By being so hot for all of this”-Sam gestured vaguely down his own body-“that you literally ceased being able to function.”
He didn’t expect such easy agreement as the sheepish nod that followed his words. “Pretty much.”
Sam blinked slowly once, twice. For one long moment he considered teasing the man. Then he decided that their time was much better spent doing things they’d both obviously been wanting to do while assuming they would never get the chance.
“I was promised a tongue in my teeth. Are you gonna get to that any time soon or am I gonna sit here and pine some more for something I apparently could have had all along?”
Bucky keened piteously. Then he surged forward to follow through on his own promises and Sam really hoped that Steve had taken his words to heart about the curtains. The man was way too old to be seeing all the ways they were about to defile the side of this truck.

Are you waiting to be asked about Team STRQ? I'll bite. Team STRQ for the character ask meme.
Tumblr media
You know it! Although I’mhaving a lot of fun with all of them.
Unsurprisingly doing four of my top favorites all at oncegot long, so I’m putting it under a read more.
Taiyang Xiao Long(YEAH BABY THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!)
·        Favorite thingabout them: Everything. Alright, alright – anyone who has spent five seconds with me knows he’s my ultimatefavorite, I’ll try not to be TOO biased. I think what I like the most about Taiis that, while he has a bit of a fiery nature to him, overall, he seems like sucha gentle soul. He’s not afraid to be a little cheesy when it comes to praisinghis girls. He loves doting on them if the opportunity arrives (breakfast in bedfor Ruby, anyone?). He’s also not afraid to push them, yet still tries to be kindin his methods.
·        Least favoritething about them: To be honest, while it’s absolutely understandable and realisticto how many parents do act in these situations, I wish Tai had been moreforthcoming about Raven when it came to talking to Yang about her (granted ifhe was, it would certainly lessen the impact of Yang’s own character arc, but Idigress). Keeping her completely in the dark is part of what leads his eldestinto her obsession with knowing more.
When the conversation finallydoes happen, I do like that Tai does his best to not badmouth Raven, which willallow for Yang to make her own decisions on what she thinks of Raven as aperson when she ultimately finds her – as he knows she will.
·        Favorite line: Oooh Taiyang’skind of a walking Chinese proverb, so it’s a little hard to pick. I’m going togo with: “You’re right, it’s not coming back… but that doesn’t have to stop youfrom becoming who you want to be.” The message basically comes down to ‘don’tlet it be you who holds yourself back’. I’m sure all of us have faced being ourown worst enemies at times, wherein we never even try because we’re too focusedon saying “I can’t”.
Honorable shout-out to RWBY chibiand “I make a home for this family, that’s what I do all day! And it wouldn’tkill you to show a little APPRECIATION”.
·        brOTP: No one gasps insurprise when I tell you it is Qrow. When it comes to actual canon, I like tothink these two are best friends that are as close as brothers in everythingexcept blood. They’ll always be there for each other when the worst of timeshits (Emotion-numbing depression vs. Blackout Binge Drinking).
…They’ll also pants one anotherin the middle of broad daylight for a cheap laugh (Cargo shorts really are easyto get down. One of these days, Tai might just go commando just so he cantraumatize Qrow once and for all).
…And argue over stupid shit likewhose turn it was to do the dishes (Hint: It’s always Qrow’s turn).
…And do irritating shit justbecause they know it annoys the other (Qrow has a really obnoxious singingvoice, so he makes sure to sing EXTRA loud when he knows Tai’s trying to gradepapers).
And yes, Qrow is absolutely theyounger brother.
-On a smaller, but no lessimportant note, I absolutely believe Taiyang had close friendships with Summerand Raven as well.
·        OTP: As with all myfavorites, I will multi-ship the hell out of Tai, especially any that can fallunder the friends-to-lovers requirement.
Absolute top OTP will always beTaiqrow (A true shocker, I’m sure). The biggest drive I have for these two hasalways been the amount of emotional support available between them. There’s somuch potential simply on the lengths Qrow may have had to go through helpingout at the house after Summer’s passing or Tai’s rigorous efforts to try andpull Qrow away from his drinking habits. They’re also just… really sexytogether. Like hot damn.
I do remain rather fond of bothof Tai’s canon ships too though. Oh yeah and I will also polyship the hell outof Tai and you will have to tear STR-Crossed out of my cold, dead hands.
I’m also happy to throw him inthe ring with James and really enjoyed my little writing session withJames/Qrow/Tai.
·        nOTP: Other thananything that puts him with one of his children, nothing that tends to botherme too much? Even Ozpin/Taiyang, while a little out of nowhere, is still prettysexy to read.
·        Randomheadcanon: *Holds up 20* Which one do you want?
-Contrary topopular belief, it’s actually Tai thatRuby and Yang get their daredevil behavior from. Though he’s mellowed out overthe years and as he’s gained wisdom, when he was the girls’ age he could bejust as reckless. Many times, that had gotten him into trouble and, not wantingthe girls to make the same mistakes, tries to ward them from the same flaw hehimself had. (He’s secretly a little proud about it too).
-The sunflowers are either torepresent Summer Rose or they were originally tended to by her and Taicontinues caring for them to keep the memory of her alive. He always cuts freshflowers for the girls whenever they’re sick or hurt, so that their mother canwatch over them.
-Taiyang is either estranged fromhis family or lost it at a young age. He spent most of his childhood inisolation or feeling like he didn’t belong anywhere. When he became apart ofteam STRQ, he finally felt like he’d found a new family and it was one he neverwanted to give up – that was why losing Raven and Summer eventually crushed himand led to his mental breakdown.
-True to his name, Tai fucking loves dragons and if he ever gets luckyenough to see the Gods’ true forms, he’s going to flip out.
·        Unpopularopinion: So maybe it’s just the generation I grew up in, but the ‘joke’Tai gives Yang about her arm? Yeahthat one didn’t even hit on my Richter scale as bad. These kinds of ‘off-color’jokes were pretty common place when I was a kid. I think it goes back to what Isaid about the Sun and ‘stalking’ thing. Intent is extremely important, and Taimeant nothing by it… except to make his daughter laugh.
Could it have backfired? Oh yeah, and he would have probably tripped over himself to apologize. But that wasn’twhat happened – nor was it what the writers’ intended to make that happen.  Otherwise, they would have led Yang’sresponse in another direction or gave the animation team a specific expressioncue to work in.
·        Song Iassociate with them: Going to continue picking random songs, because this isdefinitely not my strong suit. I probably went through all my playlists, but I’mgoing with Chris Daughtry’s “It’s Not Over”. If you read the verses as stages ofTai’s life with those important in it, it lines up fairly perfectly.
-The first twoversus are for Raven and their failed love (“You’ve taken away everything/And Ican’t do without, I try to see the good in life… This love is killing me”)
-Then the next two verses are forSummer and the loss of her (“I cannot wait/We’re wasting too much time… My lifewith you means everything/So I won’t give up that easily”)
-Finally the last verses are forQrow’s losing battle against his alcoholism and depression (“We can’t let thisget away/Let it out/Don’t get caught up in yourself”) and Tai’s own resolve to getback up and start again for his girls (“It’s not over, let’s start over!”)
·        Favoritepicture of them:
Tumblr media
Never been so attracted to a picturebefore.
Summer Rose
(Our dearestflower, born white and bled red in her final hour)
·        Favorite thingabout them: For now, simply that it’s implied she was both a kickasshuntress and an incredible mom. Now, if only we could SEE that in action.
·        Least favoritething about them: Well. Being dead’s kind of a drag, ain’t it? I feel my least favorite thing about her is the same thing we’re allkind of feeling at this point – that we know virtually nothing about her.  I washoping she’d be brought up when the whole ‘Silver-eyed’ thing got addressed –BUT NO. I’M STILL STARVING RT, GIVE ME SOME CONTENT PLEASE.
·        Favorite line: *Saves thisspace for when we get any*
·        brOTP: I particularlyenjoy the dynamic Summer and Raven may have had. Like Qrow and Tai, I often seethe girls growing close during their years at Beacon, the two eventuallydeveloping a mutual respect for one another that turns into friendship. Theyboth start to realize just how much they care about each other when Raveninadvertently makes a portal to Summer to save her life. Summer is secretlyhappy whenever she manages to get Raven to confide secrets to her – one ofwhich was her growing feelings for Taiyang.
·        OTP: Speaking of Tai,of course I rather enjoy that Summer and he had fallen in love. Just like with Taiqrow, the emotional support factor really drives this one in deep for me. I know thisone gets a lot of flack as a ‘rebound’ on Tai’s part (And equally should getflack on Summer for being a ‘Hero’s complex’, since she’s literally swooping into ‘fix’ what Raven broke), but I personally feel like their love was genuine, simplybecause of how significant an impact losing her had on Taiyang. Just because ithappened quickly after one loss does not immediately discredit it from beingtrue and powerful.
·        nOTP: Absolutely herand Qrow. And yes, I know someone is going to call me out for this one because ‘I’vewritten it before’ – AND YES, I KNOW. It’s not that I don’t see the potential inthe ship because I absolutely do. It’s that I’ve come across it just one timetoo many that to put them together, it’s often done at the expense of villainizingTai, Raven, or both, which has soured my ability to enjoy it – one person inparticular does this so well that seeing her work actually turns my stomach. Ialso really think it weakens in-canon Qrow as a character, since I can’t fathomhim lying about being Ruby’s dad and most arguments that try to explain why hewould feel flimsy at best. Also, just, this: “Don’t lie to him Ruby, we’rebetter than that.”
(I will however accept PolyQrow/Summer/Tai in which neither of them know who impregnated Summer and Qrowjust goes by uncle because it was easier for the kids to understand).
·        Randomheadcanon: -Summer Rose was first attempted to be killed by then lateractually killed by Marcus Black. The first encounter I see happening sometimein her school years, in which on a mission he comes after her. Taiyang has tointervene, maybe at the cost of his own semblance, and eventually they’re both savedby Raven and Qrow who portal to them just before either are killed. In thesecond, Summer is alone and is being hunted down both by Marcus and his wife.Though she calls Qrow for back-up, he never gets there in time. In the last fewminutes, she manages to kill Marcus’ wife, but is in turn killed by him. I particularlylike this because this would make Qrow and Marcus foils, both who startdrinking heavily from loss but have different responses to those around them.
-HAVE I EVERTOLD Y’ALL ABOUT MY EVIL SUMMER IDEA? I have said it once and I will say it again:black magic and curses are criminally unused in this fairytale inspired show. The idea that Summer was ‘brought back to life’ by Salem to use for her ownpurposes is deliciously fun – or, seeing as we don’t know what it can do yet, being brought back by the relic of creation. In ether scenario, it brings backthe body but not the heart. Her reveal would be devastating to _TRQ, especiallyif they are forced to fight her. If they did I see the scenario going inmultiple directions –
A. In a team fight: Either theyare all killed by her or they kill her
B. In single fights:
+Raven is killed by Summer or theykill each other. I see Summer giving out a lot of passive-aggressive quips overRaven running off and maybe even goads her about her powers and her fears.
+For Qrow, I never see him dyingto her in a one-on-one fight. Getting heavily injured, yes, but never dying. Ido see them being fairly evenly matched, actually. And maybe even Summergetting super offended if he uses his scythe on her.
+Tai fights her, but spends themajority of the battle on the defensive, trying to remind her of who she reallyis. Just as he’s got her hesitating, another villain either injures him orstrikes him down.
That’s not even touching on whatit would mean for Ruby and Yang to encounter her.
·        Unpopularopinion: While I do think she probablyhad a habit of being socially withdrawn, I really don’t see Summer as painfullyshy-mannered as some of the fandom portray her as – at least not to a debilitatingextent. I don’t think it’s a bad character trait for her, per say, and it worksin some contexts especially when it’s balanced well. It’s just hard to see hermanaging to survive as team leader with such a submissive personality traitwithout the twins or Tai completely eclipsing her.
·        Song Iassociate with them: Mostly because I once envisioned an entire fight scene leadingto her death to this song, I’m going to go with “Heroes” by Zayde Wolf.Surprisingly though, it fits fairly well. Being a ‘hero in the darkest of times’really does exemplify what a huntress is and what Summer herself is meant torepresent.
·        Favoritepicture of them: *Saves this space because she stubbornly refuses to put up theteam STRQ photo we’ve all seen ten thousand times*
Raven Branwen
(The sexiestpsychobitch you ever will meet)
·        Favorite thingabout them: Her character potential. With the end of volume 5, it feels likeshe’s been left at a crossroads, in which she can choose to continue to lookout for herself like the coward she’s been, or choose to attempt to redeemherself when her daughter gets into trouble again. The fact that we haven’t quiteseen the result of her visit to Tai (or if it ended up being a visit at all)tells me the team is holding back on that decision for now; but, I have absolutelyno doubts that we will be seeing her again.
·        Least favoritething about them: Can anyone say manipulative bitch bordering on total sociopath? Thatfirst conversation Raven has with Yang made me jerk back a bit and go ‘Whoa, crazy alert’. It’s definitely a trait that is um… a little hard to like. It hasmassive amounts of writing potential though.
·        Favorite line: “Two childrenyou’ve tricked into following you, a disgraced Atleasian scientist, and a FallMaiden with a surname so appropriate, she probably picked it herself. Thatabout right?” Vol 5. Chapter 9 gets a lot of flack for not being veryinteresting, but I could not get enough of Raven’s snark throughout theconversation.
·        brOTP: How about withher literal brother? I’m a total sucker for inseparable twins and I’ve alwaysliked the idea that, growing up, the two of them were extremely close. Raven’sa teeter-totter of opposites for me, so I can also see that relationship goingin the exact other direction – BUT FOR NOW…
·        OTP: Speaking of teeter-totters,how about that relationship with Tai, huh? Was it toxic as hell or did they trulylove each other and just had an awful falling out, wherein the bitterness wouldsettle in much later on? Who knows! I don’t! But I love exploring both anglesto their fullest extent. I’ll also drive the pain all the way in: If Taiyangends up dying in canon, the break of their bond is powerful enough it causesRaven to cry.
In AUs, I ship the hell out ofSummer and Raven. In-canon, I’ll always go the STR-Crossed route in which allthree of them are just hopelessly in love with one another and in which Ravenpretends she doesn’t regret leaving them behind.
·        nOTP: Honestly, beyondthe obvious incest ships (like with her daughter, wtf?), there’s not really anyships with Raven that make me squelch. Even a crackship like Cinder/Raven hasthis weird, sexy angle to it.
·        Randomheadcanon: -Like everyone else, Raven used to have a copy of the team STRQphoto. Much like her brother, she kept it on her, even after she left. But shortlyafter Summer died, she burned the photo in the camp’s firepit, cutting off herfinal ties to them.
-Qrow and Ravenwere never sent to Beacon to ‘become huntsman and return with their skills’. Itwas what they were told but they were sent there because the leader at the timehoped they’d die in the process – in Raven’s case, to eliminate her dangerouslyambitious nature. Qrow always knew this was the real reason, but Raven didn’t acceptthis until much later. Upon her return to the tribe, she eventually confrontedand ultimately killed the former leader for that act.
-Though it relies on help fromone of her teammates, Raven can cut things in half with her portals if shecloses it when it’s only halfway through, and has done so on multiple occasionsto cut right through Grimm.
-Raven is either going to die acoward… or a hero.
·        Unpopularopinion: I don’t really think Raven left because she got pregnant; ifRaven was so intent on abandoning her, I don’t feel like the show would tell usthat she visits her daughter enough that Yang is able to recognize her birdform. I think it’s an interesting angle, but I think her fear of Salem is thegenuine reason she left but she only really knew one other home: The Tribe. Herdecision to leave Yang behind either was forced from her by the rest of her teamor was her own choice at the time, knowing her daughter would be more at risk ifshe came along.
·        Song Iassociate with them: Alright, I scoured around for a bit for this one. I’m going tosettle on “Heaven’s a Lie” by Lacuna Coil. Though there’s not much to actually workwith, it rather matches well with how she feels she was given false promises byOzpin (“Destiny of a lie/Set me free, your heaven’s a lie”) and how sheultimately left her team behind and returned a life of corruption (“I need toknow when I’ll fall into decay… I need to know why did I choose to betray you?Something wrong with all the plans of my life”)
·        Favoritepicture of them:
Tumblr media
God damn she’s hot when she’sabout to wreck people’s shit.
Qrow Branwen
(The man whowas Emo before it was cool)
·        Favorite thingabout them: There’s a lot to love, from his dashing good looks to hisendless sass, but I especially like his emotional vulnerability. I think it’s thesadist in me, but I get endless amounts of joy from him letting down his wallsand being more open: talking about his semblance, panicking whenever Ruby is indanger, his fury and sorrow over Ozpin’s half-truths – yeah, I live for thisshit. If he cries in the show, it will almost definitely become my new favoritemoment.
·        Least favoritething about them: So, fun fact: I hatedQrow at first and simply because of this fact -he’s a drunk. Now, this is superpersonal, but I grew up with addiction in my family, so characters like Qrowalmost never make it high up on my list, if they make it on at all. It’ll alwaysremain my least favorite thing about him, but I do like how the show isexploring the issue and, in fact, have enjoyed exploring it myself in mywriting. It’s therapeutic.
·        Favorite line: As far as linedelivery goes, got to give it to “Look, this has nothing to do with trust. I- …It’s a long story, okay?” The amount of emotion put into those simple words is frankly, just beautiful. Got to also give proper appreciation to “I DID IT!” and “Well…that’s unfortunate.”
I’ll always be most fond of “Youtwo? You’re gonna go far. But only if you keep learning. If you never stopmoving forward.” Not only as it’s a homage to Monty, but it really shows Qrow’skinder, more loving side when it comes to his nieces.
·        brOTP: So whileshipping them is generally off the table, Summer and Qrow being best friends isalways my jam. I can see these two having little drinking sessions together or gettingcompetitive over two-player video games. Perhaps they even geeked out togetherwhen they both realized they loved the tale of the Grimm Reaper. I also stronglybelieve that it was Qrow who encouraged Summer to admit her feelings to Tai, advisingher that to wait could mean to lose her chance entirely. And then, when sheactually did, teased her endlesslyabout it.
·        OTP: Can I just fillout a second paragraph about how much I love Taiqrow? Because, I really love Taiqrow.I can see it happening entirely on accident. One night, Taiyang and Qrow aresaying good night and, without thinking, Taiyang just dips down and gives him akiss. He freaks out, not because of the action insomuch that he was afraid hejust ruined their friendship until Qrow just rolls his eyes and drags him infor another one.
On a side note, I’m really startingto get a soft spot for OzQrow and I blame the rest of the fandom for this. Ironic, that I ship them now that Ozpin has technically died and it’s TOO LATE.
As for James/Qrow, I see thehighlights of it, and in small measures like it myself, but it’s not very highup on my list.
Winter and Qrow is a total guiltypleasure ship and I’m not sorry.
·        nOTP: Again, beyondthe obvious choices? Eh, I’ve noticed Tyrian/Qrow is gaining some traction and, while it definitely doesn’t give me the heebie-jeebies some ships do, that oneis definitely not my cup of tea.
·        Randomheadcanon: -Qrow likes to bestow nicknames to people he likes, as nicknamesare terms of endearment to him. For people like James or Oz, who are Jimmy andWizard respectively, he uses them sparingly; whereas, for family, he tends touse them much more frequently. Especially with his nieces. They often can tell whenhe’s being serious or when they are in trouble if he starts using their actual names. When he was a teacher, almost all of his students got nicknames, since he wasterrible at remembering them by their actual names.
-Qrow’ssemblance caused him to be sent to Ozpin’s office. A lot. It gave everyone, except for the very few who actually knew what his semblance was, theimpression that he was nothing but a troublemaker.  Eventually, Qrow started paying Glynda on theside to use her own semblance to fix whatever his would break.
-Qrow’s drinking actually startedin school. He’s generally a happy, reckless drunk, and people tended to likehis company more and, craving both that feeling and the attention, he continuedto seek out social events for an excuse to drink. When he was young, he wasalso extremely choosey on the brew he would have, as a bad mixture often hadthe effect of making his mood plummet instead. As he grew more dependent on thealcohol, he stopped caring as much.
-Qrow isabsolutely bisexual and no one can convince me otherwise.
·        Unpopularopinion: I really don’t think Qrow sleeps around as much as the generalfandom believes he does. I get why the archetype is there, especially with how flirtatioushe can be, but with how insecure Qrow actually is, I feel like he’d actually bepretty hesitant when it comes to getting intimate, especially with strangers. Accidentalpregnancies, anyone?
·        Song Iassociate with them: Okay this one was actually an easy choice: “Breaking the Habit”by Linkin Park. It really highlights the current struggle Qrow’s going throughin this volume (not knowing what is worth fighting for) while it also can relateback to his addiction and self-worth/depression issues (Not feeling all rightand hurting a lot more than ever before).

Just your resident bird man, looking badass as shit.

My first official fluff piece! Still kinda angsty, but it's cute - to a point lol
I'm so sorry. I cannot figure out how to add a read-more on this new formatting.
--------
Coming up with excuses to hang around the engine room was getting harder every day. Delivering messages for people was always an easy bet - the priest couldn't be bothered to crack his old knees on those stairs anyway - but the stupid crew on this stupid ship didn't send messages to the resident tinker very often.
She could always break stuff.  Parvati was always down to fix it, and whenever someone brought her some broken trinket, she got the cutest expression on her face - a weird mix between excitement and exasperation.  All of her shyness just completely vanished as she scolded them for being so careless with their things, revealing the true bullheaded nature behind her stammering, eager-to-please front.
But how long could she keep "accidentally" breaking her stuff before Parvati confiscated it, just like she did Felix's mechanical tossball action figure?  Not much longer, that was for damn sure.
And she couldn't just... show up and linger. What excuse would she use for that?  "It's too loud out there"? The engine room was way louder than the rest of the ship combined - even when Ellie and Vicar were screaming about philosophical bullshit in the cafeteria and Felix had his tossball match turned up to drown them out. Besides, she had soundproofed her bunk specifically to give herself a quiet space.
"I'm interested in mechanical engineering?" Ha! What a laugh. Every single person on the Unreliable knew that Nyoka didn't give two shits or a fuck less about fixing her own belongings, as long as she had the bits to pay someone else to do it.
The only option left was honesty, and let's face it: that wasn't her strong suit. She had a reputation as a badass (if constantly drunk) bounty hunter to maintain. Confessing that she enjoyed hanging out with the dorky engineer made her sound like a lovesick puppy - which she wasn't, for the fucking record. She didn't like Parvati like that. She just like getting the girl the ramble about her favorite topics, watching her face crinkle in concentration as she struggled with a complicated mechanical part, the way her face turned out a particularly off-color joke. There was no love there, and she'd sock anyone in the mouth that would even dare to suggest such a thing.
And yet, Nyoka still found herself lingering outside the cafeteria, sneaking furtive peaks at Parvati.  Look at her. Nibbling that snack cake like she's a baby sprat. God, she's so freaking adorable...  She turned away, her lip curling in a sneer of self-disgust as she took another drag from her flask. Even the rough burn of old whiskey couldn't drown the way her heart pounded against her chest.
God, what had this quiet mechanic from Edgewater done to her?
She didn't even realize that her feet had carried her into the room until she looked down and saw Parvati staring up at her. Her lips were smiling that tight-lipped smile that all polite folks gave when unexpectedly bumping into someone they barely know, but her eyes were confused, maybe even a little frightened. She hated that look. She wanted to grab the girl's shoulders and shake some common sense into her, to scream "Why are you afraid of me?! I'll kill everyone on the ship and myself if it would protect you!"
But she wasn't that dense. That would just scare the poor girl more, and the very thought of Parvati fearing her turned her stomach. Instead, Nyoka twisting her own lips into a smile and forced out, "Hey there, tinker. Didn't mean to scare you."
Parvati quickly shook her head in an obvious act of self-preservation. "Oh, not at all, Miss Nyoka! I was, um, just eating a quick snack. Got to stay fueled for the road!" She giggled awkwardly, and Nyoka wanted to wrap her arms around her and squish her tight - though whether it was to comfort her or to squeeze out the anxiety, even she couldn't say.
"With empty calories like that? You're going to burn through it and crash in an hour."  She strolled to the refrigerator, forcing herself to tame her trademark stomp to a casual strut. "What's the thing Junlei says all the time?  'Treat your body like a machine - quality fuel and plenty of rest, or you'll end up rusting like an overworked engine.'  I don't know anything about machines, but it sounds right. Here."  She tossed a small container of food to the confused girl.  "Cystipig stew. Homemade. It's something my - one of my old teammates used to make. The methane added a kick, but Boss says I'm not allowed to flood the kitchen with explosive gas."  She scoffed as she dropped into the chair across the table.  "Coward."
Parvati let out a soft laugh escape as she tentatively scooped out a spoonful of stew, and Nyoka's heart fluttered in her chest in a way that was surely heartburn and nothing else. "I can't imagine methane making anything taste better... Except maybe mantisaur. Is it true that people eat mantisaur on Monarch?"
"Only if they're really desperate. As in, 'I've already eaten the floorboards and my roommate' desperate."
Parvati's spoon hovered before her mouth as she shot Nyoka a part-horrified, part-rebuking glance. "You shouldn't joke about such horrible things. People suffer through terrible hardships - it's cruel to make fun of them."
The urge to retort was powerful. She wanted to snap back that, as someone who spent years as one of those people, she could say whatever she damn well pleased about the subject - that according to Holy Man DeSoto, making jokes about the subject was 'an ingrained coping mechanism that helped her deal with her trauma' or whatever. But - and she could not for the life of her understand why - she kept her mouth shut.
Parvati stiffened to brace herself for the inevitable backlash, but when none came, she relaxed just enough to taste the offered stew. Her eyebrows shot into her messy brow. "This is really good! You said that your former teammate made this?"
"She - created the recipe, yeah." Nyoka couldn't meet her gaze, not what the lump growing in her throat. "That's not important though. You really like it? Even without the methane?"
"It's delicious. It tastes like - oh, what was it dad used to say?" She scrunched her face as she wracked her brain, and the lump in Nyoka's throat dissolved like sugar. "Tastes like Grandma used to make. It's homey and warm, like curling up in a freshly made bed after a hard day of work." She took another bite and closed her eyes, chewing slowly as if to relish every bite. "Mm... I can see why you treasured that teammate. If her personality was anything like her food, she was a really amazing person. "
Nyoka shook her head as she gazed at Parvati, her lips twitching into a rare genuine smile. "God... You're so nice. I... I want to kiss you."
Parvati's eyes drifted open to focus on Nyoka's face. "What did you say?"
Nyoka stared back, frozen in place as her stomach clenched tightly. Oh God - what to do? She couldn't admit what she just said! But what to say?
Parvati sat up straight now, her head tilting ever-so-slightly. Her bottom lip jutted out to give her an adorably confused pout. "Nyoka?"
And now she was taking too long to respond - fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck - In a panic, Nyoka blurted out, "If you died, I wouldn't miss you!"
They both froze, staring at each other - Nyoka in horror, Parvati in confusion. As the gravity of her panic response settled upon them, Nyoka clenched her fists under the table. Her face burned with shame while Parvati's face paled beneath her dusky complexion. Tears began to collect in her amber eyes, and she turned her head down and away. "I - I see. I'm sorry for whatever I said that made you feel that way, Miss Nyoka." She pushed the chair back and stood up, her hands trembling at her side. "I'll just go."
"Parvati, no -" Nyoka reached out instinctively then snatched her hand back. "I didn't - that's not what I - God damn it!" Slamming her fists against the table, she threw her chair to the floor in her haste to get up and storm from the cafeteria.  You're not running away, she assured herself as she locked the door to her sleeping pod, longing now more than ever for the ability to slam the door with a satisfying bang.  You're taking a step back to collect yourself and figure out what you're going to say to fix this.  She punched the door and spun to slide the ground, leaning against it and feeling, for the first time in her life, like a serial character. "Fucking hell, Nyoka..." she muttered as she pinched her brow between her fingers.  "You're really in the shit this time. You and your fucking mouth... "
It took an hour and several gulps from her flask to calm her nerves and figure out exactly what she was going to say, but finally Nyoka was ready to tackle the hardest battle she'd ever had to face. Taking a deep breath (and another swig for courage), she opened her door and walked to the kitchen. It took every ounce of self-control she had to keep her body still. Treat this like capturing a raptidon, she encouraged with every step.  Don't show fear. Never show fear. You're the baddest bitch on Monarch. They make fucking serials about your adventures. You can handle apologizing to a dorky girl from a hick town.
Despite her totally awesome pep talk, she still had to pause outside the cafeteria and rest her forehead on the cool door frame.  You can do this.  Deep breath. You know exactly what you're going to say. Just go in, stay on script, and get out. No ad-libbing. You want this to be another Angeline Graves situation?  'course not. All right. Countdown. 3. 2.... 1.
Inhaling deeply, Nyoka pushed open the door and stepped inside. "Parvati, I -"
She stopped short as a sob interrupted her and allowed her blurry eyes to take in the room. Parvati slumped over the table, sobbing into the crook of her arm. "I don't understand what I did! Why -hic- did she have to be so cruel? I thought we were bonding!"
"Hey, it's not your fault," Ellie soothed, rubbing comforting circles between Parvati's shoulders. "Nyoka is a terrible person. She's probably drunk again - she's a total ass when she's drunk. Just ignore her, okay Par?" She looked up and scowled when she saw Nyoka. "What do you want?"
Nyoka couldn't respond; her tongue felt like a dead fish between her teeth. She could only stare, stunned, at Parvati's shuttering form. The realization that she had done this - her cruel words, spat in a moment of sheer panic, had reduced her shy, cheerful crush to a complete emotional wreck - drove like a dagger into her heart.
Ellie was right. What kind of absolute scumbag would do something so awful to such an absolute angel?
"Hey, dipsomaniac. Do you fucking mind?" When she still didn't answer, Ellie raised her other hand to snap her fingers impatiently. "Christ, are you that drunk? The fuck do you want?"
Nyoka finally snapped out of it. "Nothin'," she muttered, lowering her gaze to the floor. "Don't want nothin'." She grabbed two bottles of purpleberry wine and shuffled back to her room, ignoring the muttered scoffs behind her. As soon as the door was securely locked, she sank into her soft cot and popped the first cork.  "Here's to being the baddest bitch on Monarch," she whispered, the first salty tear trickling between her lips, "and the fucking worst person on the Unreliable.
Cheers."

Major Crimes Re-Watch-The Deep End.
“Nicole wants to walk down the aisle with me and her step dad who she knows I can't stand so I'll just pay for the wedding which is all she wants from me and I'll look at the pictures later.”
It sounds like Andy is feeling a bit sorry for himself here, but though we don’t know the whole situation it doesn’t sound like Nicole has handled this very well. It’s understandable that she might want her father and her stepfather to walk her down the aisle, especially if her stepfather has been a part of her life since she was a kid. My cousin did that with her father and stepfather and I’m not going to say there weren’t a few hurt feelings, HOWEVER, she did not drop this bomb on her father’s head the day before the wedding. That’s where I took exception. We’ve been hearing about this wedding for several episodes. Andy was meeting with his ex about it when he fainted. He’s been on the phone discussing things a lot, so he has obviously been part of the planning. And he is the one footing the ridiculous $30,000 bill, so there has been plenty of time for Nicole to sit down and talk to him about this in person, rather than throwing it at him over the phone the day before the wedding.
Andy is an emotional person. He has a temper and tends to overreact at times and Nicole had to know that he would be hurt by this and that his hurt would manifest itself in anger. However, as stubborn as Andy can be, he does often come around after he has calmed down and had time to really process things. A mature, responsible person would have sat down with him weeks ago to talk through her reasoning for this decision thus giving him time to reconcile to the idea. If it wasn’t for Sharon and the case they were handling I’m not sure Andy could have worked through his feelings as quickly as he did.
The case-Two Latino boys break into a famous swim coaches’ home. In the beginning, the theory is robbery. One boy is shot and supposedly, one got away. The press is in a frenzy screaming, “race” because the shooter is white and rich and the boys are Latino. What starts out as a kind of typical robbery/murder, actually ended up being a very emotional case that drew me in as much as the personal stuff—which if you’ve been reading my synopsis is not usually the case.
“I agree. There is more to being a father than signing a check. It doesn’t matter because I'm not coming.”
“His daughter is getting married tomorrow and he's being an ass about it.”
“Andy, will you join me with the victim's parents.”
Andy has been stressed about this wedding for a while now. Although he’s been part of the planning I think he feels a bit like an outsider. Like he’s just being used to pay for the wedding—tolerated because of that but not particularly wanted. He is also not looking forward to being around Sandra’s family who hate him, which puts him in a really tough and uncomfortable position. This decision Nicole has made only exacerbates those feelings in him. I feel like, while Andy could have handled this better, so could Nicole.
Sharon has always seen her team as people first, not just colleagues and she is interested in what is going on in their lives and trying to help them. She does this here with Andy. Andy is upset and distracted and she reels him right back in by having him in the interview with her.
“Look, keep Raymond out of this, what are we doing here?”
The look Sharon gives Andy, one parent to another is very touching.  Andy takes the cue and informs the parents that their son is dead. I noticed this time around that Sharon rests her hand on Mrs. Torres to emotionally support and comfort the woman. By having Andy join her in this interview she is showing him that he's lucky, his daughter is still alive and he still has a chance to make things right. Sharon is always so subtle with her little life lessons.
Sharon and Andy aren't in clothing sync yet, but, after the Jack episodes where we had very little Shandy interaction, they are working as a team again. This episode is chock full of Sharon/Andy teamwork and lots of little glances and non-verbal communication. To me this illustrates the difference between the antagonism of Sharon/Jack where they were never on the same page and Sharon/Andy who work seamlessly together, are always on the same page and are able to communicate without words.
"They started in with the questions and I answered them, you know, just trying to be honest. And then this morning they decided that Kris can no longer spend time with me outside of school.”
“Well, that's not really nice.”
“It's really not that big of a deal.”
Oh, Rusty honey you did not play that one right. Sharon is SO right on to him, and with the look she shares with Provenza, so is old Gramps. When Rusty is truly upset about something, he reacts like Andy, with anger. If he were truly upset he would be ranting and raving about how unfair it all is, but by just shrugging it off Sharon can tell that this was an outcome that actually pleases Rusty.
“A restroom, please.”
I was surprised that Provenza sent Amy off to console Mrs.Torres. You'd think it would be Sharon who would have gone since she too is a mother, but it looks like Sharon wanted another crack at Mr. Torres who had already broken down saying it was all his fault. Fathering seems to be an overriding theme in this episode, with Andy having several moments of fatherly feels. In this scene, Andy gives Mr. Torres a rather sad look through the glass, a father commiserating.
"Matty was a swimmer."
Finding out that Coach Frey was Matty's coach changes things.  The case has gone from being a robbery to something more personal.
“Captain Raydor is in a meeting right now but maybe I can help you. My name is Lieutenant Provenza.”
LOL, Provenza is hitting on Kris's mother. Love the way the team is all watching him in action with amusement.
“It's a video he was making, Captain. He saved it as a work in progress.”
The team watching the video is extremely moving. I liked the way they had the camera constantly moving to get the reactions of the whole team and the sidelong glances they gave each other.  The music, the sadness, the teary eyes and the look that Andy and Sharon share when they watch Rusty walk away all combined to make it a very moving scene.
“So let's protect him. Let's put out a press release saying the rumors of molestation are groundless.”
Sharon has Andy's interest here. He seems to be impressed by her sneakiness in using the press to draw out other kids who had been molested.
"Hey"
"Hey, I was just going to bed."
"Did you have dinner yet?"
As soon as Rusty hears the door opening to the condo he quickly scoots down the hall but doesn't make it to his bedroom before Sharon enters the condo. He is trying to avoid a conversation about Kris but Sharon isn't letting him off the hook.
“If you just want to be friends with Kris, you could tell her.”
“Oh come on, you're still married to a guy you haven't lived with in 20 years and you're giving me break up advice right now!”
Rusty expects Sharon to shout back at him, probably because Sharon Beck would have, but Sharon R. just stares at him with a slight quirk to her brow and that de-escalates Rusty right away. He apologizes, telling her he doesn't know why he says things like that; he just got mad because she was acting like he'd done something wrong. Deep inside Rusty knows what he did was wrong, he knew better than to listen to Jack and he's really angry with himself so he takes that out on Sharon. Sharon is Rusty's conscience.
“That kid Matteo, Matty, whatever his name is, he had a sad stack of cards in his lap. I mean 13 is really young for all that.”
“15 is really young too.”
There is obviously more that is bothering Rusty than the Kris situation. Seeing Matty’s video has brought out some emotions that he isn't sure how to process. Sharon let's him know here that he also shared that sad stack of cards and that he was just as molested at 15 as Matty was at 13.
Jack wasn’t around for long, but his presence lingers with the bad advice about Kris coming back to bite Rusty on the butt and now the comment about the sad stack of cards which seems like something Jack would say.
“I know there are things that you may not want to discuss with me but there are professionals—“
“No, no shrinks Sharon. Look, I’m not the one who needs a doctor, my mom needs a doctor, Philip Stroh needs a doctor, the men who came to me on the streets need a doctor. Okay? That kid Matty he needed one for sure. Look I know what I did and I know why I did it.”
Because he wasn't physically attacked or overpowered and because it was his decision to prostitute himself, Rusty has never believed that he is a victim. He thinks what he went through cannot be considered molestation or a crime because he initiated the contact. He likes to believe that he was in control of the situation and because of that, he doesn't feel like he should need any help. He doesn't want to be lumped in with people like his mother and Stroh and the guys that paid for an underage prostitute, he views those people as “sick” and admitting that he needs help would make him “sick” too. I think the struggle with his sexuality feeds into this as well. He later tells Sharon when he comes out to her, “I can’t fix this.” So he does feel like there is something wrong with him, which is why it’s great that Sharon finds Dr. Joe to help him.
“There is no pressure from me except to be kind and be safe.”
Sharon never puts pressure on Rusty, which is why he is able to come to conclusions on his own and doesn't run from her. She is a far different parent with Rusty than she is with her other children. When she is upset with Ricky’s behavior about her adoption of Rusty, she doesn’t beat around the bush and try to let him figure things out on his own. Nope, she lays it all out for him with anger, guilt and shame. She lets him know just how disappointed she is in him then TELLS him exactly how she expects him to behave. She can do this with Ricky because she raised him. He knows that she can be angry and disappointed in him and still love him and Sharon knows that she can yell at Ricky and he isn’t going to run away and disappear from her life. I give her a lot of credit for understanding the difference in the way she has to parent Rusty.
“We need you to understand that though your son’s story will be used as evidence in the trial we won't be able to charge Frey with Matty's murder.”
Sharon closes her eyes while Andy tells Mr. Torres this sad fact. It’s a hard pill for her to swallow. It’s hard for all them when someone is punished, but not for all their crimes. In the episode where Sharon was bringing Andy home from the hospital, she laments the fact that although they caught the perp and made a deal they were unable to prosecute him for rape as well.
"We'll get Frey in prison for the rest of his life, I promise."
Andy firmly grabs onto Mr. Torres shoulder, again father to father, in the same way that Sharon placed her hand on Mrs. Torres earlier in the episode, mother to mother. They are definitely in sync.
"And how does that help Matty? Where do I go to talk to him and say I'm sorry, I didn't know what you were going through?”
and
“Your son was a hero.”
“Matty was a hero and what was I? What was I?”
Andy looks down at the ground. You know he is thinking about Nicole. He has the chance to be the hero here, to make things right with her, and he's going to take it however difficult the day will be for him, because this is her day.
“My daughter’s wedding is, well, it's in three hours actually.”
“And you've decided to go.”
“Yeah, even though most of the people there hate me. Yeah, I uh, I think it's the right decision.”
“Could you use a buffer? Lt. Provenza has volunteered to take Rusty out for burgers and I like weddings.”
“Really? Are you sure? How would I introduce you?”
“How about as your friend Sharon.”
“So, it's not like a date or anything?”
Of course not Lieutenant. I'm a married woman.”
“Oh, well thank you, Captain...I mean, Sharon. I owe you one.”
The first time through, I never noticed the little look Provenza gives Andy as he heads to Sharon's office. Love the idea that two people who care about Andy concocted this little scheme. I do wonder if Provenza knew what this was going to lead into if he would have been so smiling and happy about it. I doubt he ever thought this wedding "date" would eventually blossom into a romance and ultimately a wedding. There was a time he was not happy about the relationship and was probably kicking himself for helping light the spark. That said, this would be a great anecdote as part of Provenza’s toast at Andy’s bachelor party or at the wedding, if we had a hope in hell of seeing either event. You just know that despite his initial disapproval of the relationship, now that Sharon and Andy are getting married he’d definitely want to take credit for getting them together.
One other thing before I close out--This scene makes it super hard when writing fanfic. I'd always felt that with Sharon having been separated for 20 years from Jack that there had to have been a couple men in her life—she was after all probably just entering her thirties when she and Jack separated and she’s a beautiful, healthy, vital woman.  Mary McDonnell also said in her podcast that she thinks Sharon had seen other men between Jack and Andy. However, this comment Sharon makes in this scene about it not being a date because she's a married woman kind of contradicts this. There is no way I can believe that Sharon Raydor would be okay with sleeping with a guy but not okay with dating him. So this statement here makes all that so hard to reconcile. So, my head canon is that Sharon finds Andy very attractive and since he's become her right hand man they have become increasingly close. However, he is also her colleague so when he asks her if it's a date, she says of course it isn't because she's married as a way of trying to keep something of a barrier between them. Also, Andy is under enough stress with the wedding, he doesn’t need the added stress of possibly being on a date with his boss. By saying she is attending as his friend it takes the date pressure off both of them and they can just relax and have a good time.
The episode ends with Mr. Torres shooting Frey as justice for Matty and being led off to jail. I wonder what happened to him, if they were able to convict him of 1st degree murder or not? He did plan the murder, however, I have a hard time believing a jury would convict him for his actions giving the heinous crimes Frey committed against his son and so many other boys. I wish we had a little follow up.

text: charlie ⇄ raquel
Charlie: How was that date?
Raquel: how was the rest of your shift?
Charlie: it was good, as usual
Charlie: you didn't answer my question
Raquel: right, well I'm glad. Hopefully your tips were good.
Raquel: I know that.
Charlie: oh, they were. mostly because you weren't there, so a lot of them went to me
Charlie: so, how was it? you guys left the bar together with a lot of pda
Raquel: So me leaving actually helped you. Maybe there were just a lot of gay guys there.
Raquel: don't do this. We shouldn't talk about it and you asking about it doesn't help but if you really want to know it was fine.
Raquel: now can you please stop asking?
Charlie: and a lot of girls, actually. although you know i prefer you to be here with me, but you had a date
Charlie: talk about what? your date?
Raquel: I know and I actually wanted to be at work with you.
Raquel: no, about the moon landing. Houston we actually didn't have a problem. Yes about my date.
Charlie: oh really? you seemed to have a lot of fun with him and the date hadn't even started
Charlie: okay, do you want to talk about something else or what?
Charlie: because i want to talk to you about something else
Raquel: please don't get jealous. I wanted to be at work.
Raquel: why couldn't you just lead with what you really want to talk to me about? What is it?
Charlie: did he have to touch your ass in front of me? did he have to kiss you too?
Raquel: Charlie.
Raquel: I'm sorry, but is that really what you want to talk about? How my boyfriend touched me in front of you?
Charlie: yes, because it's been five days since you promised and...
Charlie: i can't believe i'm asking this, but are you ever going to break up with him?
Raquel: YOU TOLD ME TO TAKE MY TIME AND IT HASN'T BEEN EASY.
Raquel: I didn't even see him until you saw him show up and it just wasn't a good time. He's having a hard time at work and he has a presentation coming up.
Raquel: I told you I would and I don't break my promises.
Charlie: hey, seeing you with him hasn't been easy either, especially when he's so hell bent on showing you off as his girlfriend
Charlie: i trust you but it's not easy to see you with another guy
Raquel: then can you just trust me when I say I don't love him? Trust me enough to know that I would do anything so that you didn't have to see me with him. Trust me to know that I'm coming back to you.
Charlie: and i'm supposed to not feel jealous? because hell, i am
Charlie: i know you don't love him. i know you're coming back to me. trust me, i know, but that doesn't mean i cannot hate this. i have the right to feel like this
Raquel: I'm not saying you can't feel jealous. Whether we were getting back together or not you have ever right to be jealous.
Raquel: I know this is my fault and that there are a few ways to fix this but I just need you to know that I never meant to hurt you. Or anyone.
Charlie: but we are, right?
Charlie: i know you didn't mean to but
Charlie: i don't know, it's just that i should be the one doing those things in public. kissing you, touching you.
Charlie: calling you my girlfriend too [unsent]
Raquel: Yes we are.
Raquel: I know and I want you to do all of those things. I want to make you so happy. I want you to kiss me like you did before and hold me. I want to be able to hold you and not feel guilty knowing that you could be with someone else or knowing that I'm hurting the person I'm crazy about.
Raquel: just give me a few more days and I promise you that everything will be the way you want it to be.
Charlie: good
Charlie: okay, i'll wait. i want all of that and more, and not to do that only in private
Charlie: i should have kept my jealousy in check, sorry
Raquel: you'll get that. I promise things will be better than they were.
Raquel: Baby, I care that your jealous. I do and i understand it. You have every right to be mad and to talk to me about how you feel. Maybe that was part of what ruined us before? We didn't talk about how we were jealous or about what was really going on. If you're jealous tell me. I'd rather you tell me that you're jealous than you being passive aggressive and hiding how you really feel. You have nothing to apologize for.
Charlie: i can't wait for that, but i promise i'll wait for you to break things off. i'll do my best.
Charlie: now you say it that way, maybe you're right. we didn't really talk about how we felt or what bothered us. i will tell you from now on, and i hope you do the same.
Charlie: i'll try to not think of punching him in the face too, because that was the first thought i had when he touched your ass in front of me.
Raquel: I know I haven't told you today but you really are the best and most understanding guy I could ever hope for.
Raquel: how did I get so lucky?
Raquel: no violence. Punching him wouldn't have solve anything. And anything that would risk you ruining your face isn't worth it
Charlie: that's always good to know.
Charlie: so you care about what happens to my face, huh?
Charlie: no violence, i promise. that will only happen in my head.
Raquel: of course I care about that face. It's attached to the lips I love to kiss and to the rest of the body I don't want to live without.
Raquel: okay, good. Besides, when it comes to fighting I think he might have you beat so let's just not risk it.
Charlie: that's one of the cheesiest things you've ever said to me
Charlie: what makes you think that? i can give him a hard time before i can beat him
Raquel: I own my cheesiness. Call me Nacho.
Raquel: No. I can watch almost anyone get hurt except for you.
Charlie: you're a fucking nacho, Nacho Mallory
Charlie: if i did, would you patch me up and take care of my wounds?
Raquel: my latin is on full display when you call me that.
Raquel: I'd rather not have to but if you're asking if I'd nurse you back to health if you ever got sick or hurt then yes.
Charlie: oh, i'd love to see that in person someday, Nacho
Charlie: let's hope you don't have to, but the idea of you as my personal nurse is nice
Charlie: my sexy personal nurse
Raquel: well you should know that Nacho only knows how to count to twenty and is horrible at rolling her Rs.
Raquel: I'd give you lots of mouth to mouth.
Charlie: does she know how to talk dirty in spanish?
Charlie: oh, i like that. the nurse costume is included or would you ditch it?
Raquel: I don't think so. She likes being cheesy not dirty.
Raquel: well eventually we'd both have to get rid of all our clothes.
Charlie: and you? would you do that?
Charlie: interesting, but what if i'm sick and i have fever?
Raquel: If i knew how, probably. I could always try to learn.
Raquel: If you're sick and have a fever it's my job as your girlfriend (deleted)
Raquel: Of course I'd take care of you if you were sick and had a fever.
Charlie: well, if you do, let me know. i haven't had anyone talking dirty to me in another language, so that'd be a first
Charlie: wouldn't you get sick too?
Raquel: well I can try an learn a lot of languages the good thing is that if I ay the wrong thing you'll never know.
Raquel: maybe but if I get sick you don't have to take care of me so at least there's that.
Charlie: i wouldn't like to find out you accidentally insulted my in a different language, so i would trust you said the right thing instead
Charlie: another benefit: we can sweat it out if we had any strength
Raquel: you actually think I'd insult you?
Raquel: There is always that. I hear that sex actually is the best way to get rid of a cold.
Charlie: not on purpose, but you could always end up saying something weird
Charlie: oh yes. we fuck, we sweat it out, we're fine in no time. sounds like a good way to get rid of it
Raquel: I'll just learn the dirty things to say then and not really learn a new language. I'll fake learn a new language.
Raquel: I should have known you'd be okay with that. I'm just surprised you're not saying you're feeling feverish now.
Charlie: sounds like a plan. i hope it's as sexy as i think it is
Charlie: not feverish, but i'm exhausted from my shift
Raquel: and hopefully I don't end up sounding like dora the explorer
Raquel: Do you want me to come over and take care of you?
Charlie: i'm sure you won't. everything you do turns out sexy. or almost everything.
Charlie: you could come here to cuddle in bed
Raquel: almost everything?
Raquel: okay but in the morning we go out to breakfast. I want waffles before I have to drag myself to the gym.
Charlie: it's not exactly sexy when you're deprived of coffee in general
Charlie: waffles? i could get them in the morning so we can eat them at my place, and you'll need coffee
Raquel: well the monster that comes out when I don't have coffee isn't me. I don't know her.
Raquel: yes, waffles. So you want to leave me in bed alone long enough for you to get waffles or are we going to bug ubereats or postmates food delivery early in the morning?
Charlie: that monster isn't sexy, you're the sexy one
Charlie: we could get them delivered while i make coffee to not have to deal with that monster for our damn sake
Raquel: well I have to try and match your sexy, handsome.
Raquel: I'm sorry for everything I say when I haven't had caffeine but don't leave me. 😘
Charlie: trust me, you already do it
Charlie: i know it's not you so you're fine. i guess i won't leave you while i make coffee tomorrow
Raquel: well good. If I don't bring my looks into this people might start wondering how I got to be with you.
Raquel: you can always just carry me into the kitchen. I'll wait patiently on the counter while you make my coffee.
Charlie: maybe it's the other way around, maybe people wonder what did to get to be with a hot piece of ass
Charlie: good, sit on the counter while i make coffee for us. that's a great view to make breakfast to, if you ask me
Raquel: well if anyone has any questions they should ask because I'll just tell them that it's because of your huge cock I love to ride. Or I'll be good and say it's because you're kind and compassionate and make me feel like a princess. You know the boring stuff.
Raquel: if you're lucky there just might be a makeout session in it for you.
Charlie: so you're with me for the cock, huh? and then the boring stuff
Charlie: only a makeout session?
Raquel: yep. I'm only with you because of your cock. What can I say? I'm shallow.
Raquel: well that all depends on how lucky you want to get.
Charlie: i'm flattered, but i hope you don't want to be with me now only because of my cock
Charlie: i aim for shower sex after breakfast, but i can settle for a makeout
Raquel: hmm there are a few other things like how you make me laugh and how I feel like I can tell you anything. Maybe it's because when I'm in your arms I feel safe and how you believe in me more than anyone that's in my life. I'm with you for so many reasons that I don't think I can ever finish telling you.
Raquel: Well we would be conserving water so if I say yes it's only because I'm trying to be eco friendly.
Charlie: you're being cheesy again here, Nacho
Charlie: eco friendly, conservating water. that's a nice reason to do it
Raquel: so what? You love it.
Raquel: and only for that reason obviously. It has nothing to do with the fact that I love the sound of our moans echoing in your bathroom.
Charlie: i will never admit that in public, but i'm getting used to it
Charlie: or with all the nudity involved we shouldn't have in the kitchen while i'm making you coffee because that's distracting
Raquel: I could always go back to not telling you how I feel all the time. And Im only giving it a matter of time before you'll be admitting a lot of things in public.
Raquel: so you're saying I have to wear clothes in the kitchen?
Charlie: i won't admit them in public. yet. but it happens that i don't only want you because of the sex or the hot body
Charlie: i never said you had to. i'd get distracted, but i could also take that as a source of inspiration
Raquel: really? Well what else is there to want?
Raquel: well then I guess I'll just have to be your muse because there is no way I'll be putting clothes on. Unless you offer one of your shirts because then that's a little different.
Charlie: you're funny, you're smart, you make me laugh, and even when you're deprived of coffee, you're cute
Charlie: you look hot with my shirts, especially when they're open and i can see your boobs
Charlie: my coffee muse, that sounds even good
Raquel: well when you say it like that, why am I not dating myself?
Raquel: you're just lucky your shirts are really comfortable.
Raquel: well if Im just a muse for coffee I need to step my game up. I'd like to be your muse for a lot of things
Charlie: because you can't date yourself, silly
Charlie: i'm really lucky. so, what is it going to be: a shirt or fully naked?
Charlie: for what things, babe?
Raquel: oh. Right. I guess it is a good thing I'm dating you then.
Raquel: shirt.
Raquel: like maybe that bar thing we talked about...
Charlie: technically, we're not there yet, but we're almost there, babe
Charlie: good choice.
Charlie: you'll get at least a cocktail with your name of it before someone else does it... and you'll probably see yourself in other parts of the bar
Charlie: after all, you're the one who's encouraging me to do this
Raquel: well we're as good as dating.
Raquel: I really thought you would have wanted the alternative
Raquel: so it isn't something you haven't thought about? Of course I'm encouraging you. I want you to be successful. And what do you mean by other parts of the bar?
Charlie: it's like we're dating already, babe. only that we're not official
Charlie: of course i want it, but then i wouldn't get to see you taking my shirt off, unbuttoning it until i get to see your boobs. plus, your legs are still showing, so it's almost like seeing you naked
Charlie: well, i haven't thought of myself owning a bar myself before or i had no one believing in me that much.
Charlie: i haven't really thought about that, if i have to be honest. but i'm pretty sure you'll inspire me in some way or another
Raquel: who needs facebook for your relationship to be official?
Raquel: that is a plus. You get to take your shirt off me. Are you saying I'm all legs because I'm not sure how to take that.
Raquel: I think you can do anything really and if it's not owning a bar then it's something great. I just think owning a bar would be payback for all of the hours you've already put in.
Raquel: I'll do my best.
Charlie: you know what i mean, babe
Charlie: yeah, that's hot. i meant that you have amazing legs. and an amazing ass. and an amazing body overall
Charlie: you're so supportive of me. i will work on that idea and we'll see what happens. i can't deny i'd love to be my own boss someday.
Raquel: right well that's not stopping me from calling you mine.
Raquel: okay then I know how to take that. Feel free to mark whatever you think is yours
Raquel: I love it, and the thought of my boyfriend owning a bar is a major turn on. That and I think I'd like seeing a building with your name on the side.
Charlie: feel free to do that, babe
Charlie: you know i'll do that anyways
Charlie: oh, so power, even if it is over a local, turns you on too?
Raquel: I already am.
Raquel: can't wait.
Raquel: no, you always turn me on, but the thought of both of us being successful and you having something that's yours and that you're passionate about turns me on too.
Charlie: good, that way i'll be used to it by the time we're actually there
Charlie: i have a question, can i mark your neck? i miss marking your neck
Charlie: i'm trying my best to not say anything cocky right now, but it's good to know you think that
Raquel: as if you aren't used to it now.
Raquel: marking my neck was never supposed to be a thing. Covering those in general is hard to do
Raquel: you not saying the cocky thing you're thinking is a first. I might have even been expecting it.
Charlie: busted
Charlie: i think that's fair. let me know when i can do that because i miss leaving hickeys there. i already to that in your inner thighs, but you know
Charlie: i'm a box full of surprises, aren't i?
Raquel: I KNEW IT.
Raquel: what if I say you can't give me hickeys on my neck ever. Even if we're together?
Raquel: either that or that entire year we were together actually was me learning everything about you.
Charlie: shut up
Charlie: then that's pure torture, babe. your neck is way too good to not leave any marks on it
Charlie: i like that thing. it sounds even good
Raquel: nope. You want to be my boyfriend and you want to kiiiss me.
Raquel: so you're saying there's no way you can't resist me? You make me look like a leper and I can't wear a scarf during the summer.
Raquel: well it also means that that year we were together actually meant a lot to me.
Charlie: so what if i do, huh? because i do and you know it
Charlie: wear your hickeys like badges, like i do everytime you leave one
Charlie: it was a good year, it was great in a lot of aspects for me.
Raquel: if you do want to kiss me then you definitely should every time you want.
Raquel: except it's hot when I leave hickies on your neck. Not so much when they're on me.
Raquel: really? And I thought you once said you weren't the relationship type.
Charlie: oh, i will do that. all the time and as soon as you get here. because you're still coming over, right?
Charlie: why it's not hot when i leave them on yours? it really is
Charlie: i wasn't. maybe you changed me in that aspect
Raquel: of course I'm still coming over. I said I would and since you said you were tired I'm already planning on pleasing my man with a nice massage so be prepared
Raquel: because then I get all the dirty looks and casting agents don't really want to see me with hickies on my neck. So if you do want to make me up at least don't leave really dark ones I can't cover up.
Raquel: maybe but you changed my life a lot too.
