Binge-worthy (Batfam Headcanons)
My brain has been on the fritz, so binging shows and completing fiber craft wips has been about the only non-classwork activity I can handle.
Dick
Doesn't often binge watch shows, if ever. He doesn't like feeling like he's wasting time in front of a screen when he could be out there working a case, doing a job, saving a kitten from a tree or helping an old lady with groceries, etc etc.
Sometimes he can't sleep though, and there are two shows that are always on somewhere in the variety of his cable package: Law & Order SVU and Criminal Minds. Sometimes Dami snuggles up with him and they share ice cream and cry over SVU stories that hit a little too close to home until dawn comes to cleanse the morning.
He's seen just about every episode of each. And he has a Lot Of Feelings about SVU.
Be the Olivia Benson that you want to see in the world.
Jason
You cannot tell me this child does not love nasty TLC dramas. Say Yes to the Dress (he likes Atlanta best, but the og is also *chef's kiss*), Seeking Sister Wives, I Love a Mama's Boy, 90 Day Fiance, My 600lbs Life.... He's seen them all.
There are some days where it is too icky out for villains, so he holes himself up in a safehouse with snacks otherwise banned from the mannor, and alternates between trashy tv shows and classic lit.
Steph, Cass, and Babs usually break in and they all end up falling asleep screeching at the tv together.
Cass
No one ever sees her actually watching tv or streaming any shows online, but she's always up to date with the popular programs.
Knows all the good B99 quotes, and always deploys them with the best timing. It drives Tim crazy because he's always trying to watch them with her but they're always too busy.
The secret is she watches everything with Bruce. It's their bonding time, snacking on Alfred-approved pre-patrol snacks and having peaceful time before patrol.
Tim
Kinda watches things? But kinda doesn't. He plays things in the background while doing other things. So he gets the stories, but doesn't always get the details.
Loves all the different Star Treks and also some older programs, like I Love Lucy, I Dream of Jeannie, Gilligan's Island, MASH.... Old sitcoms make him nostalgic, because his dad used to enjoy them.
Sometimes if he's having a bad day he'll watch one and kind of just doze in and out, not really paying attention.
On those days, Alfred sits with him if he has the time. Tim's out of it, like his brain is resetting, and Alfred will just kinda pet his head, make sure he's getting fluids (tea, non-caffeinated, or flavored water). They don't talk, and it's possible that Tim isn't even fully aware that he's there. But it's nice.
Duke
When my man binges, he BINGES. Sometimes they don't see him for days. That's how he got through all of the (modern) seasons of Dr. Who (Ten and Rose always make him tear up, but Dr. River Song is his favorite character. She's a chaotic sass machine that he aspires to emulate).
Bounces around from genre to genre. Likes fantasy, comedy, sci-fi... isn't as big on slice of life. Binging is a good way to escape, and he takes full advantage.
Famous binges have included: The Witcher, Witches of Waverly Place, Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Phineas and Ferb, The October Faction, The Order, The Haunting of Hill House, Modern Family, and Sherlock.
Damian
Duke got him hooked on anime. He literally reads manga in canon it isn't exactly a big leap. Unlike Duke, he enjoys slice of life, with maybe limited fantasy. Fruits Basket, Shugo Chara!, and Blue Exorcist are all things he's watched and enjoyed, but that's about as "fantasy" as he'll get.
Found family/friends are his favorite types of story. Kabukibu! is one that he found particularly charming.
That being said, if a show has particularly stunning animation, even if it isn't his favorite genre, he'll watch it. The first few seasons of RWBY, for example.
Oh my GOD LAND OF THE LUSTROUS. Dick agreed to binge watch it with him on a whim and they ended up not emerging from the bed until they'd seen all the episodes. No food, no sleep. Just story and beautiful perfect animation. When they were seen again they were in tears and demanded that Bruce figure out how to fund a second season. He told him that he'd work on it and be the hero that we all need, I NEED MORE OK?!

Rest of 2021 Watch List
With only six and a half months left of 2021, it’s time to get serious about my drama watching habits. I’m so behind and there are several things that are (supposed to be) coming out in the later part of the year. So, here is my list of things that I want to start/am interested in. Granted, some of these things may change as more information comes out about them. Or I may just decide not to watch them. And some may get pushed back into 2022.
Already Aired:
Lucifer: season 5b (USA) - Though the first half of season five left us on a cliffhanger, I just cannot seem to sit myself down to finish out the season. It may be the mixed reactions of long time fans or the knowledge that season six is the last, either way, I’m having a hard time getting back into the show.
Youth of May: (South Korea) - This romantic, moody, slice-of-life drama. I was waiting for it.The ending is going to break my heart, so I have to be ready for it. I hear the preformances are amazing, but I know I’ll be crying.
Word of Honor: (China) - Everything I’ve heard about this drama makes it sound amazing. And while I know things will be heartbreaking - I just need to prepare.
Currently Airing:
Doom at Your Service: (South Korea) - I watched the first four episodes (I think?), but I am waiting to binge it after it ends. Why? The first few episodes were so good, I want to be able to watch it all at once.
The Penthouse: War in Life, Season 3: (South Korea) - I was super excited for this one...then I heard about Logan’s “brother” and, uh...maybe I’ll just watch the clips of my favorites?
Mad for Each Other: (South Korea) - I know very little about this drama, but it looks amazing and I’m hearing good things.
Mine: (South Korea) - So, it sounds like two daughter-in-laws of a rich family work together to get what they want. It looks good.
My Roomate is a Gumiho: (South Korea) - It just looks fluffy and adorable. And I need that.
Coming Soon:
June:
Ancient Love Poetry: (China) - It just sounds sweet and sad and I love a good Chinese drama that will make me smile and eat up the angst.
Nevertheless: (South Korea) - Honestly? The Netflix trailer looked interesting.
July:
The New Version of the Condor Heroes: (China) - I love this story and the 2014 one was a hotmess. The promo pictures look good, though they were released in 2018. Rumor is the drama has been shelved, but we’ll see what happens.
The Devil Judge: (South Korea) - You have Ji Sung staring in a dystopian drama, where he is the as the head judge of the highest court in the land. The court has become a TV reality show, with viewers invited to participate in a live. The one person looking to take him down is Kim Min Jung as the director of a corporate social responsibility foundation. And then you have two childhood friends: Park Jin Young and Park Gyu Young, idealist who want to make their world better. I look forward to Ji Sung and Kim Min Jung battling it out, and maybe corrupting the idealist cop and younger judge.
Boku no Satsui ga Koi wo Shita: (Japan) - This one may not ever get English subtitles, as Japanese dramas aren’t really subbed anymore...however, the story sounds amazing. A young man finds out his dead foster-father was a professional killer and this young man decides to take up the “family business” to avenge for the father.  The young man approaches a womanwho is his assassination target. Despite his skill as a hitman, he can’t ever kill her, not matter how hard he tries. Instead, he ends up protecting her and the two fall  in love. This could go so many places and I want to see it.
August:
Red Sky: (South Korea) - A beautiful and genius painter meets a blind officer in charge of astronomy, geography, art of divination, and meteorology. The two fall in love. And it’s marked as a “historical romantic fantasy”? Yes, please!
October:
The Red-Stained Sleeve Cuff: (South Korea) - The story of Sung Deok Im, a court lady.  She catches the eye of Crown Prince Lee San. Once the prince becomes king, he wants Sung Deok Im to become his concubine, but she refuses. Yet, Sung Deok Im becomes the concubine of King Jeongjo. This could be angsty. Also, it stars Lee Jun Ho (who you may remember from Just Between Lovers) and Lee Se Young (who always brings it).
December: (or 2022...?)
Twenty-Five Twenty-One (South Korea) - The love story of two people, who have really bad-timing, told over the period of four years. Personally, I’m hoping for a poignant human drama ala Just Between Lovers or Come And Hug Me. (Minus death and murders),
Return: (South Korea) - This is literally described as: “A fantasy drama about the stories of young magicians who deal with heavenly spirits.” It will be on tvN, which usually has really solid dramas. There is a cast of talented up-and-comers: Lee Jae Wook, Arin, Park Hae Eun, and Hwang Min Hyun. There are also some talented vets in the cast: Yoo Joon Sang, Oh Na Ra, and Joo Sang Wook. It’s beingdirected by Park Joon Hwa Everything looks great on paper. It’s just - the drama will be written by the Hong Sisters. During my early days of Kdrama viewing (way back in the mid 2010s), these ladies wrote some of my favorites. And while I did love Hotel de Luna and A Korean Odyssey - it has become very clear over the years that these writers don’t do well during the second halves of their dramas and they aren’t always great at endings.
Snowdrop (South Korea) -  It takes place in 1987, and follows students at a prestigious university in Seoul. It will be written by Yoo Hyun Mi, who wrote SKY Castle and The Bridal Mask. I’m looking forward to it, even though I heard there was pushback (which has resulted in the show airdate being moved back a couple of times) from the South Korean citizens'  who believe that the drama distorts facts related to the pro-democracy movement of the 1980s in favour of the authoritarian regime. This was based on an incomplete version of the plotline that had been leaked online, which describes one character as a “spy” and another lead as working for the NSP. We’ll see
At Some Point in 2021/early 2022...?:
The Witcher, Season Two
The Umbrelllla Academy, Season Three
The Boys, Season Three

I was re-reading one of my most favorite books, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz, in preparation for the sequel which was just released this October—though I don’t know when it’ll be available here in the Philippines.
Aristotle, who was the narrator of the book, kept a journal to which he occasionally writes—usually about his life. He wrote an entry there—a list of what’s currently happening to him. I thought it would be a great idea to do something like that too.
I’m not doing much at work. I both like and hate that I’m not so busy. I like it ‘coz I’m free to do stuff like watch Domestika training, read books, make personal artworks, etc. I hate it ‘coz I don’t know how this would affect my performance at work, especially since I’m aiming for a promotion. Anyway... Que sera, sera.
I’ve been working out. Like… since May, I think? It’s not much, just stuff I can do inside my room—you’d be surprised at what I can do in such a small space. I wanted to add some physical activity to my life since I’ve been too sedentary in the past year—which is probably one of the reasons why, for the first time, I had high cholesterol and pre-diabetic blood sugar level in my latest APE.
I haven’t done yoga, though. I miss it. I want to get back to it soon.
I never missed an MCU series that was released on Disney+ this year. My favorite is still WandaVision.
Pink stuff has been flooding my social media field after Leni Robredo filed her candidacy for president. And then it’s BBM Supporters vs. Anak ng Fuschia everywhere. I’m not going to actively participate in this fight. Not all social media users are mentally equipped to engage in an intellectual banter—some of them are literal trolls. I am not wasting my voice for that sh*t.
I was fully vaccinated with AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine. Contrary to what people associate with being inoculated with said brand of vaccine, I didn’t get any fever—or any other adverse side effect.
I recently read the first two The Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski. I liked both, and finished them rather quickly. Afterwards, I watched the first season of the Netflix series based on these two books. I hated the series. Why? There are tons of videos on Youtube that share the same views as I do.
I fell in love, and I’ve never been this happy since the pandemic started.
I didn’t fall in love, so I hurt someone and made that person’s 2021 more miserable than it already is.
I spent this past weekend with my best friends—Saturdate with Wilma and Sunday with all of them. It was fun and fulfilling. It would probably be a shoo-in on my most memorable moments for this year. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to split the two days into two memories.
I’m thinking of buying new glasses—maybe those large, black rimmed frames. My two year-old frame is failing.
I’ve been wanting to buy The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. Zelda fan here, remember? It was released a few months ago, but I don’t have the finances to purchase it—blame it all on the continuous S&R shopping sprees.
Not all of these are true. I lied. Don’t bother asking which ones are true—I won’t respond.

Hey all, Dani here.
Wow…how is it already Wednesday again? I feel like this past week has pretty much flown by, but I can also say that it has been pretty darn productive too. So, let’s just go ahead and jump into my weekly wrap-up of everything I’ve done and watched and read, because this is an easy chance for me to just geek out about a lot of stuff.
First up, I have not been playing any video games, because I’ve been very much in a reading and watching mood, but that’s totally fine.
When it comes to writing, I have done a lot of character background exploration, and have so many extra pages of notes for my novel now, so I’m excited to really start writing. I’m hoping that the words will start gushing out of me because I’ve been thinking about this story for a few years now, but we’ll see what happens.
Next it’s time to talk about watches, and I’ve accomplished quite a bit in the past week. I have finished “My Hero Academia” season 1, “My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising,” “Outlander” season 2, and “The Tudors” season 1, and I have started watching “My Hero Academia” season 2 and “The Tudors” season 2. And now I just need to take a moment to gush about the “My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising” movie, because it was OUTSTANDING. I was already expecting it to be great because I’ve been following several of the Dubbed Voice Actors on social media. And amazingly, though the movie came out on Wednesday and Damian and I didn’t see it until Sunday, we didn’t hear a single spoiler. So thanks to all you geeks out there who kept some of those big moments under wraps–like THAT MOMENT (you know what one I’m talking about if you’ve seen the movie). Apparently this movie is basically how the series was originally going to end, but because of the popularity of the manga and anime, there is no true ending in sight, which I think is pretty great. Honestly I could probably write an entire review post about the movie, and I might in a few months after it’s out on DVD, but for right now I’m just going to say that a high bar for cinematic excellence has been set for the rest of the movies we watch this year.
Okay, let’s talk about books now.
#gallery-0-13 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-13 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-13 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-13 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Obviously, you can tell that I’m in a little bit of a My Hero Academia mood. I’m completely caught up on the manga, but I hadn’t yet tried this spin-off day-to-day light novel series that has been coming out, and I finally gave them a try. I can read the 224 page light novels in about an hour, and I really think they do expand the characters and the story, as well as just giving a better glimpse into the characters’ lives in between these big story arcs. I also finished a couple volumes of manga, and finished my first read for Middle Grade March. So, all in all, I feel pretty good about finishing everything I have in the past week.
So um, I’m in a weird entertainment mood for me right now. Currently I’m reading two historical books and I’m in the middle of watching a historical TV show. I’m actually already a couple hundred pages into Voyager, which is pretty great. I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself, but I’m also aiming for at least 40 pages of reading each day (though a few days I’ve done 50-100 pages), so I’m hoping to actually not have a DNF period like I did for the previous book–according to Goodreads I picked up Dragonfly in Amber in 2017 and I just finished it last month–I kept setting it aside for months and months for no real good reason. And then I finally felt like maybe I was in the right mood to tackle My Lady Jane again; I simply couldn’t finish it last time and gave up halfway through.
Of course I am also continuing to breeze my way through this My Hero Academia spin-off, though this fourth volume just came out yesterday, so after this I’m going to have to wait until…I think this fall for the next release. I’m also trying to continue with my Middle Grade March reads, so I’ve selected this D&D in reverse story. It’s about these adventurers in a fantasy world who get together once a week to play a game called Homerooms & Hall Passes, which is a fictional world to them…until they find themselves transported there, and now must navigate our modern world as middle schoolers. It’s such a fascinating premise, Damian loved it, and I just found out that there is a sequel coming out in October, so I’m excited to see if I will love it too.
#gallery-0-15 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-15 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 20%; } #gallery-0-15 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-15 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
I’m waiting on my copy of the new Sarah J Maas book to arrive in the mail, so I will probably end up starting it once it gets to me, but I also want to try and read through a few more Middle Grade March picks, especially since Damian and I are working at a convention with Colorworld Books at the end of the month, and I’ll have four days where I’ll likely be too busy to sit down and write posts, so I’ll have to get them done ahead of time. To get my Middle Grade March reviews written, I need to read more of the books. But I’m really excited about all of the books in my TBR, so I don’t anticipate them being a struggle to get through.
Oh, and I want to jump into the next book in The Witcher series as well, because it definitely qualifies for Monstrous March. I’ll probably end up watching (er, re-watching) a few more episodes of the show as well.
All right, well that’s all from me for today. Let me know what you’re reading in the comments because I would love to know, and I’ll be back soon with more bookish content.
Weekly Wrap-Up (54) Hey all, Dani here. Wow...how is it already Wednesday again? I feel like this past week has pretty much flown by, but I can also say that it has been pretty darn productive too.

10 most exciting games Xbox showed off at E3 2018
New Post has been published on https://www.etechwire.com/10-most-exciting-games-xbox-showed-off-at-e3-2018/
10 most exciting games Xbox showed off at E3 2018
Microsoft wasn’t messing around with this year’s E3  conference – it was out to impress with big exclusives, world premieres and hints at what’s to come next from the Xbox brand (and yes, we do mean the next Xbox console). With no awkward presentations and mostly a flurry of gameplay trailers, we got a glimpse of some of the incredible gaming delights coming your way in 2018, 2019 and beyond. So to ensure you’re in the know when it comes to all things Microsoft, we’ve collected together the ten most exciting announcements to come from the Big M at E3 2018. Enjoy!
Halo Infinite
Considering it’s been two and a half years since Halo 5: Guardians, fans have been eagerly waiting the proper return of Master Chief into their lives. The new game in the series is called Halo Infinite, developed by now long-serving custodians 343 Industries and using a brand new engine, the ‘Slipspace Engine’. So while it’s missing the usual number next to its title, it’s nonetheless being billed as the next chapter in the Master Chief saga. So we’re expecting Halo 6 in all but name. No mention of a battle royale mode, but then again, there was no confirmation that there wouldn’t be one. Take that as you will…
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
After all that furore around the trailer shown at the 2017 Game Awards, From Software’s next game has finally been revealed as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, a new experience very much in the same vein as the Souls series and the PS4 exclusive Bloodborne.
Set in a version of Feudal Japan, you’ll once again step into the shoes of a warrior who is continually (and rather conveniently) raised from the dead. One of your arms is a mechanical weapon in itself, alluding to some transforming powers a la Bloodborne. We’re expecting a more aggressive form of gameplay, and with the enemies we’ve already seen (those include a spear-wielding foe on horseback and angry looking dude with a poisoned blade) we’re going to need all the offence we can get.
The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit
The next Life is Strange game from Dontnod might not have the title in its name, but it’s still very much in the same universe as the first game and the recent Before the Storm prequel. This free game (we’re under the impression it’s a ‘one-shot’ game rather than something that’s episodic) is called The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit and follows the tale a young boy with a giant imagination dealing with the loss of his mother. The previously announced, but as yet unrevealed, Life is Strange 2 is still coming, but this looks like a wonderful way to pass the time. It’ll arrive for free on 26th June.
Kingdom Hearts 3
So we finally learned the release date of Kingdom Hearts 3 the day before the Xbox Showcase but now we have a brand new trailer and a glimpse of some of the exciting Disney worlds we’ll be heading to when the game releases on Xbox One. Alongside the likes of the previously announced Wreck-It Ralph and Toy Story realms, you’ll also be travelling to the chilly wilds of Frozen where you’ll encounter Elsa, Olaf and the rest of the ‘Let it Go’ crew. We also got to see some new long-distance navigation techniques that could see you snowboarding your way around Elsa’s neck of the woods with Goofy and co.
Forza Horizon 4
Forza Horizon is back, and it’s bringing its very own brand of vehicular open-world mayhem to the Xbox One family of consoles in 2018. Britain is the new setting, offering all manner of beautiful rolling fields, mountainous regions and urban streets to barrel around in new and exciting cars (including the rather fetching looking Mclaren Senna).
All players will be inhabiting the same game world on Xbox One and Windows 10, although we don’t know if the AI-driven Drivatars will be making their return just yet. Seasons, weather and day/night cycles are all dynamic, with seasons themselves bringing completely altered terrain that will change every road and race. Expect lots of world events too when it arrives on 2 October.
The Division 2
Massive returns to the plague-crippled world of The Division, with the Black Friday sickness of the first game now spreading across the nation. The Division 2 brings you to Washington DC where you’ll encounter a world with a more open sprawl than the tight busy streets of Manhattan.
Four player co-op is once again on the menu, as are all manner of items to loot and powerful AI factions to take down. Control points were also shown, proving a means of taking back the city turf by turf. We also saw some new gadgets, such as a seeker mine that flits along the ground to enemies and a hardened clay that can freeze enemies (and you) to the spot. Think Prey 2’s glue gun. It hits 19 March, 2019.
Session
While EA failed to reveal the much-wanted Skate 4 at EA Play, Microsoft is seemingly ready set to kickflip in with an Xbox One-exclusive named Session. Developed by Crea-ture Studios and previously funded on Kickstarter, it appears to offer a skateboarding simulator that’s very much in the vein of the Skate titles and the early Tony Hawk games. No word yet on specific modes or features, but expect to bail out and spend time learning every trick. With a New York-style setting we think this could be one of the best new exclusives coming to Xbox One in the (hopefully) near future.
Dying Light 2
While the first game had its problems, Techland’s open-world zombie survival aimed high with its parkour mantling, vertical level design and day/night cycles with the undead horde were transformed into even deadlier creatures come nightfall. The sequel – which has veteran developer Chris Avellone on-board – has a bigger focus on consequences in the game the world, with the remaining human strongholds drastically altered by your decisions.
With plenty of factions to encounter and all manner of creatures to hunt/parkour away from, Dying Light 2 is aiming even higher. With Avellone on board, expect even more RPG systems that ever before.
Gears 5, Gears Tactics and Gears Pop
It was a Gears of War blowout this year, with not one but three new titles announced from The Coalition. Firstly, there’s the mobile-based Gears Pop which takes the characters of Gears (in Funko form, naturally) and gives them their very own game. No word on what this game will entail, but we wouldn’t be shocked to see some microtransactions.
Next, Gears Tactics, a turn-based, tactical RPG in the vein of XCOM. Halo made a great transition to a new genre with Halo Wars, so we’re expecting Tactics to follow suit.
Finally, there’s Gears 5, set after the events of Gears 4 where Kate Diaz will head into the frozen tundra to help save her people. Expect it in 2019.
Cyberpunk 2077
Finally, the biggie. While Microsoft failed to announce the much-rumoured Fable 4, it did have the world exclusive reveal of CD Projekt RED’s new title, Cyberpunk 2077. While we might not know many gameplay details as yet, considering this is coming from the creators of The Witcher series and includes a visual style somewhere between Blade Runner and Judge Dredd, we’d say this shaping up to be the game of the show. Expect awesome 80s-style cars, all manner of androids and enough neon to shake a glow stick at. We cannot wait to play this one.
E3 is the world’s largest exhibition for the games industry, stuffed full of the latest and greatest games, consoles, and gaming hardware. TechRadar is reporting live from Los Angeles all week to bring you the very latest from the show floor. Head to our dedicated E3 2018 hub to see all the new releases, along with TechRadar’s world-class analysis and buying advice about the next year in gaming.
