Phineas Falcon found her and decided to take her in, and that patronage would earn her a position as a Divination professor in the year 1879

Annabel met Phineas by chance: she was lost in the Three Broomsticks and wanted to ask for directions. She bumped into this big, strong man and he noticed her. With a bit of help, he could understand her situation and decided to take her in until she was fully independant and help him keep an eye on his wild daughter

She discovered her gift for divination by casualty: she was following the itinerary when she decided to give it a shot, and actually predicted who Phineas’s daughter was in love with. She decided to explore further on her own what she could do: she predicted the whereabouts of the then Prince Alfonso (future Alfonso XII) and the Manifest of Sandhurst

She loves spicy and savoury food, which raised a few eyebrows, especially with Principal Black, who shared the misogynistic views that spicy food made of women wild and ‘whores’, which proved to be wrong, given Annabel’s sweet and composed nature

Her favourite student was Nilufer Sultan, whom she related: they took coffee together and shared tales of their Mediterranean summers and leaving their beloved countries to find themselves here. She was the one to predict that she’d find her way back to Simon

She also had a dream about a battle that would end up being the Somme and soon advised the Ministry not to send too many soldiers to such bloodbath; she was rewarded with 100 pounds

Nilufer called her to Constantinople to make some predictions about the empire and her future, and proved to be right in most things: she’d find Simon again, the empire was most likely to fall and she’d outlive whoever she married.

She continued to teach in Hogwarts up until she was fifty-five and loved teaching the children of her former students. Her favourite was Alexandra Somerset, whom resembled the Lady Gray very much

She died aged 110 years-old in Mallorca, in a villa she purchased under the name “Valeria Martín.”

Chapter 2: What is a hogwarts?

Summary: Haldir gets his Hogwarts letter, meets Logan and Elisen for the first time and goes to Diagon Alley

Location: Atlantis Knight Corps Division, Date: May 26th, 1892

Haldir stared up at the ceiling as he heard the older recruits finishing up their training for the morning. He turned his head towards Echo and Griffin who were playing some game, Zuka was leaning against his bed throwing a ball against the wall and Esra was doing push ups in the corner of the room. There was a knock on the door followed by Captain Eagle walking in with an owl on top of his head which flew over to Haldir and dropped an envelope on his chest then flew away out of the now open window.

The captain was glaring at Haldir as his hair was ruffled every which way. “Eliphyra, I have just one request. I want you to explain to me how an owl got into this realm.” Owls in Eseria were much bigger than the tiny owl that was just in the room. Haldir sat up and shrugged his shoulders not knowing what had just transpired in those short few moments. The captain huffed in frustration and walked out of the room without another word.

Zuka leaned over to snatch the letter off of his lap and turned it over to read what was written on it. “What the hell is a hogwarts?” He said with a confused look on his face and opened the letter to read the contents of it.

“Dear Mr. Eliphyra,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find an enclosed list of all necessary books and equipment. Term begins on September 1st, 1892. We await your owl by no later than July 31st. To avoid detection by Muggles, please use the entrance located at King’s Cross Station downtown London, on platform 9 ¾. We look forward to having you at our school.

As you are not of this realm, you will be accompanied by Professor Phineas Falcon on your trip to Diagon Alley and he will help you get set up with everything that you will possibly need from Diagon Alley.

Haldir picked up the third letter that had fallen out of the envelope after he had read the supplies list and read it to himself before he set it on fire, annoyed at the contents of it. He brushed the ashes off of himself and leapt out of his bed when the bell rang for them to head downstairs for their turn.

It was a small group of them aged 10-14 who all trained together. There was Zuka and Sero, they are the oldest of the group at 14 years old, Sero’s a phoenix and Zuka is an abomination. Then there was Esra and Echo, they are twin fairies and are 13 years old. Griffin was the youngest of the group at 10 being an entire year younger than Haldir, he’s also the only other mermaid in the group besides Haldir but instead of being a whale, he is a shark.

Whilst they were waiting for the captain to come and start their training officially, Haldir had started shooting off random arrows with Zuka’s bow into the targets, terribly missing the target as he watched it bounce off of the border surrounding the training area. He picked up the arrows and handed it back to Zuka suppressing a smile as Zuka berated him for somehow missing all of the targets while putting his arrows back into the quiver.

Sero made a short whistle from where he was standing to alert them of the captain coming and to make sure they weren’t getting caught goofing off like last time. They all quickly fell into line with straight backs and their weapons at their sides. The captain rounded the corner with his usual annoyed look on his face and surveyed the group, checking to see if anything was out of place with them. If there was anything, he would add another 2 miles to their 20 mile run for everything that was out of order.

He stopped in front of Haldir and narrowed his eyes at him, leaning forward to get closer to the small boy before he straightened back up. “Eliphyra, you are excused from training today and you need to go to the front gate.” Haldir was about to protest because whenever someone was excused from training, it wasn’t good. Captain Eagle held up his hand for him to stop talking and pointed at the exit from which he had just come from. “Go Eliphyra and leave the sword, I don’t feel like hearing about you wondering around with a sword again.”

Haldir sighed in defeat and walked away so he could go put his sword back in his room. “Oh and Eliphyra, pack a bag. I don’t know how long you’ll be gone.” Captain Eagle had shouted before he turned his attention to the rest of the recruits and snapped at them to put their weapons away as they’ll be practicing using their powers.

Location: Front Gate of Knight Corps tower

Haldir stood in front of the gate confused on where he was supposed to go from here. He was about to turn around to go ask his captain where he was supposed to be going when a carriage came to a stop in front of him. He looked up at the person who was directing the carriage with a cocked head and stayed where he was standing. “Are you uh…Mr. Liphyra?” The woman had paused for a second trying to remember the name they told her and Haldir nodded his head not bothering to correct her on the pronunciation of his last name. She got down from where she was seated and opened the door for him “After you.”

Haldir hesitantly climbed in the carriage with a curious look on his face. He set his bag down at his feet and looked up to see a girl staring at him. He stared back at her and they had sat like that for two minutes before the girl held her hand out. “Hi, I’m Elisen, Elisen Chaeyra but I’m sure you already knew that.” Haldir’s eyes went down to her outstretched hand but still kept his own in his lap. “And you are?” Elisen asked, retracting her hand with a pulled smile.

“Haldir Eliphyra, my princess.” He said with practiced ease with all the royal training he was put through when he was younger and now as a recruit of the knight corps. Elisen scrunched her face up at the honorific and asked him to not call her that. Haldir made his own face as it was hardwired into his brain to always use honorifics when referring to the royal families but it was also hardwired into his brain to do as they ask. So he nodded his head and kept to himself for the rest of the ride for the most part.

Elisen had tried to make conversation multiple times but Haldir’s short answers were making her a bit annoyed. While reading his book, Haldir was questioning whether or not he should hold a conversation with her as he had never been taught the proper way to hold a conversation with a royal. “I don’t mind how you talk to me, we are going to be seeing a lot of each other if you are also going to Hogwarts. There my royal status does not matter” Haldir’s head snapped up at what she had said and gave her a short smile before returning to his book.

It went on like this for the 2 hours it took to get to their destination before Elisen eventually gave up on trying to converse with him. Haldir had gone through 2 of the books he had brought with and had started on a new one just as they were pulling up to the gates of the Nytranthyr castle.

Location: Nytranthyr gateway portal

In the span of 3 hours, Haldir had gone from not knowing he was half human to being pestered by two royals who were also half humans and were going to be going to the same school as him. It was a little nerve racking but he kept a straight face as Logan, the youngest of the Nytranthyr family, had appeared by his side and started chattering away about what Hogwarts was like from the multiple stories his mom had told him when he was younger. Logan stopped himself from continuing on the conversation as his father walked in with 2 other people following him.

“Ayas!” Logan exclaimed with a smile on his face and Haldir watched as he threw himself at the towering white haired boy. Ayas wrapped his arm around Logan with a smile and gestured to the man standing next to him “This is Professor Falcon, he’ll be showing you around Diagon Alley and helping you get your supplies for Hogwarts.” He added something else in Elvish that was directed towards Logan which made Logan say something back in retort.

They ate some food before they went through the portal as traveling between dimensions makes you very hungry for some reason.

Once the kids had gained control back over their stomachs, Professor Falcon had taken them to Gringotts explaining on the walk there that was where all vaults were kept. Haldir was hardly listening as he spotted the book store when they were walking.

“In recent years, the goblins have recently figured out a way to have a link between your vaults in your realm. From what I’ve seen it’s been rather easy instead of exchanging your currency every time.” He added on as he opened the doors for them and walked in front of them to go towards a specific goblin who looked particularly annoyed that the same man had been coming to every single time when there was a new student. “Rigaq, I’ve got three Eseria students for you this time! Uh Haldir is with the Knight Corps and these two should be hooked up with their family vaults.”

When they were done at Gringotts, the kids were trying to figure out where to go first and they all hopped on board Professor Falcon’s idea of getting their wands first and working their way from there. He showed them the way to Ollivander's wand shop so they could get their wands.

It was very eventful to put it in short words, Logan had sent the lamp flying at Phineas when he flicked the first wand that was given to him and it had taken five or so tries before he had got his wand. Elisen’s was just as eventful as Logan’s as while it had only taken her 3 attempts to get her wand, it had left the room soaked from the second wand she had tried.

Haldir looked hesitant as he was handed the first wand seeing what had happened with the other two but took it anyway and flicked it. A loud boom came from the wand and as Haldir had jumped from the noise, out of the corner of his eye he could see that Logan’s face was covered in ash. He stifled his laugh as Logan was sneezing a lot from the ash under his nose until Phineas cleared his face of all the ash with a flick of his wand.

“Thanks for that Haldir.” Logan said dryly, his nose still twitching and Haldir was still laughing as he handed the wand back. Just like Elisen, Haldir also went through 2 attempts before he got his wand on the third try.

They went through all the places they needed to go except for what Logan liked to call, “The loud bird store”. Logan was trying to buy every single bird he had seen and kept getting annoyed when Phineas kept putting the birds back. Haldir was walking around with an owl on his shoulder already wanting to leave and be done with it when something slimy touched the back of his neck. He lept back from whatever it was, crashing into Phineas who was standing behind him trying to get the owl in the cage.

“What the hell is that demon thing!” Haldir shouted hiding behind Phineas who was looking around before he saw what had spooked the kid. He laughed when he saw the puffskein sitting there innocently.

“It’s a puffskein, it’s completely harmless.” He picked up the puffskein and turned around to show it to Haldir who had a look of disgust on his face. Haldir slowly bent down to pick up the cage and slowly backed up from the puff ball in front of his eyes.

“For group 6, from Ravenclaw, we have Devlin,” Professor Falcon’s voice startled 13-year-old William out of his daydream. He let out a slow breath and crossed the clearing to stand next to the Care of Magical Creatures professor.

“And from Hufflepuff, we have Edwards,” Professor Falcon added, after he’d plucked a name out of the Hufflepuff pile. William looked over to see a blonde girl walking towards them. She was pretty, like pretty pretty. He swallowed and rubbed his palms against his robes.

“Okay, so you two are assigned to the unicorn. Now, unicorns can be quite skittish around men. So, if that proves to be too difficult, then I’ll reassign you. Now, pick up some parchment and a quill and get started,” Professor Falcon said, gesturing to the pile to the left of him.

William frowned and walked past the supplies the professor had gestured to. Parchment would tear if you tried to sketch with a quill. And anyways, quills were too difficult to draw with. The girl sent him an odd look, but they walked in silence for a while.

“I’m Josie, by the way,” she said, as they reached the unicorn paddock. “Why didn’t you take the parchment and quill?”

“William,” he replied. “And parchment isn’t good for sketching. It tears too easily, especially with quills. I have thicker paper and charcoal in my bag.”

“Okay. I can answer the questions about the unicorn, if you want to draw her.”

“Sure.”

They worked in silence for a while. William’s tongue stuck out, as he sketched the unicorn. It (she?) never came close enough for him to get adequate details, but it (she?) didn’t shy away from him. Perhaps Josie was a very comforting force.

“Wow! That looks amazing!” Josie’s voice startled William out of his zone.

“Eh. There’s not enough details as the unicorn won’t come close enough for me to get all the little nuances,” he replied, shrugging as he fought the urge to flip the sketchbook over.

“I mean it. That’s incredible. You’re incredible.”

William felt his cheeks heat up. “No, I’m not.”

“You are. That picture is incredible and I’ve heard all the things people say about you, and you never retaliate. That’s incredible.”

“I don’t think that’s incredible. Nothing I say will stop it or change the reality of my situation.”

“Well, I think that that’s incredible.”

William shrugged and looked down at his shoes, his cheeks burning. No one had ever called him incredible before.

“Alright, now before I dismiss the class, please remember that your drawings, labelings, and questions are due for next class on Monday,” Professor Falcon’s booming voice said.

“Do you want to meet up on Sunday to finish our project?” Josie asked, smiling at him.

“Okay. I have quidditch practice in the morning, though,” William replied.

“Are you planning to go to Hogsmeade Saturday?”

“I don’t know.”

“Would you like to come with me? We can work on the project after and do some other things.”

William stared at Josie’s hopeful face for a long moment before answering. “Okay.”

WWTG22: The Welcome Ball 2.0- For The Rest of My Life (Abeline)

Emmeline had been dancing with Abe for most of the night, and it was honestly liberating to dance to her heart’s delight without her father glaring daggers at her beloved Abe, though he had gotted accustomed to him by now. As she rested, she spotted her dear friend Zelda dancing with Oscar Erdstern while Elias Cairncross observed closely, a ghost of a smile on his face. He spotted her and nodded her hello, and she did the same. She noticed a pair of familiar hands who hugged her waist and whispered in her ear “Come with me for a moment, my love.”

She turned around to face her beloved Abraham, and she gladly took his hand, which he kissed and picked their coats and went out to the snowy gardens. Emmeline soon shivered and put around her coat, and Abe took the hint, hugging her with one arm “Where are we going, dearest? It’s freezing cold! It may be the coldest night here.”

“I promise it’ll be worthy, my love. Here, put this on.”

She frowned when he offered her the blindfold, but put it on her eyes nevertheless. She trusted Abe fully: he knew Winbourne like the palm of his hand, for he and the hostess were very good friends and had grown up visiting her. She almost slipped, but Abe’s strong arms always steadied her. When he warned her of the steps, she was careful, and when she noticed the echo and the feeling that she was on something made of marble, she asked Abe if she could open her eyes, and he agreed. When she opened her eyes, she was indeed in something made of marble... her famous gazebo in the small lake, candlelit with her favourite scent and with petals of the same shade of red roses as her hair. She gasped and smiled at such a sweet detail, and when she spun around, Abe was on one knee, offering a rose to her “Abe...?”

He took her hand and kissed it “Emmeline, my darling Emmie... These past years have been the best in my life, and not only because of the mischief we caused, but because I got to fall in love and be your partner all these years.” He took a deep breath “I know how you feel about marriage, and I like to think this is the best moment, so I’ll just ask you; Emmeline Antonia Falcon, will you do me the honour, nay, privilege to be your loving and most devoted husband?”

Emmeline had been weeping of emotion and joy. Just like her mother and her stepmother Hestia had told her, she would surely weep of joy when Abe popped the question. When she found the words, she said “Abraham... Abe... yes, yes, oh Merlin, YES!”

He smiled widely and got up, hugging her and spinning her around, both laughing and crying, not wanting to let go. Without helping himself, he kissed her and she kissed him back, melting into the joy they both had. Between kisses, the exchanged ‘I love you’s and laughs, and Abe wiped her tears kissing her entire face, simply overjoyed that she said yes. For a moment, neither of them thought of the probably stroke her father would have, but rather the beautiful moment they were sharing. She’d have to extend her gratitude to the Ladu Gray, who surely made sure this was decorated at her tastes.

When they came back, she ran towards Zelda and told her the news and both beamed, hugging one another. Elias hugged her congratulations and so did Miriam, both talking of ideas for the wedding. Oscar patted Abe’s back, who was smiling impossibly wide.

“Guests, if I may have your attention!” Abe suddenly called, and everything paused, their eyes on him. He took Emmeline’s hand “I have asked Miss Falcon to marry me... and she said yes!”

Everyone whooped and cheered, and an equally cheerful music started playing and everyone got back to dancing, including Abe and Emmeline, Oscar and Zelda and even Miriam and Elias.

And so they danced the night away, happy that Abe and Emmie were about to be together... for the rest of their lives.

Smart, beautiful, cultured and wise beyond her years, she met Phineas Falcon during his formation at Durmstrang while her father served as headmaster. The two of them were not younger than 22 and the moment they could, they eloped and married, infuriating her father.

The first two years were amazing, but on the third year they realised they were not truly made for one another and had an unrealistic view of the other. They both agreed for a friendly divorce and a joint custody of baby Emmeline until she became of age. She went to marry on five years later when Emmie was but five, though she was the ringbearer of the ceremony and Phineas attended the wedding.

Fun, loving and quite the jokester, Phineas was a gryffindor alumni and a mazoologist, he went to Durmstrang to learn from the very best and during his short time there, he fell in love with the headmaster’s daughter Olga. Their elopment and hasty marriage infuriated the headmaster, and the pregnancy just made it worse, but Phineas was overjoyed nevertheless. The first two years were amazing, but by their third year, they realised they weren’t truly fit for the other and split amicably. Emmeline was focused on her life and its porblems and Abe first let her be, but got frustrated and confessed her that he must act on his feelings and Emmeline was at first shocked, but decided to take a chance. Her father interrogated him and found him genuine and someone who could very well earn his little girl.

They got engaged but didn’t marry just yet, for Emmeline didn’t want to rush it like her parents had long ago. They lived together for two years and after that got married in a semi-private affair and went on adventures with their friends, not wanting children just yet and enjoying their youth.

After much adventure, Emmeline found herself pregnant and went on to have six children with Abe: Edward, Audrey, Owen, Livia and Flora. They happily raised them, living a quiet and low-key life.
