About my last post: I think Lucifer makes comments that seem yandere about how MC couldn't leave him if they tried as a defense mechanism. He hates how vulnerable MC makes him and how they could easily hurt him by leaving so he tries to take control of the situation by acting controlling. The man is afraid of getting hurt

‼️NIGHTBRINGER LESSON 34 SPOILERS‼️
masterlist | all lessons | lesson 33 | lesson 35
Tumblr media
i might be getting ahead of myself here, but are we lilith ?? like is that what's happening rn ??? he's not saying mc's name, and raphael doesn't day their name in the next scene...if so then that's actually really fucking sad 💀
it makes sense though, belphie not wanting mc to go into his head bc he's still clinging to the past and doesn't want to lose them forever like he lost his little sister forever, especially since human life is so finite compared to that of a demon or an angel or a reaper
also it's obvious by his choice of words that despite him looking older, belphie is very, very young in his mindscape, just like mammon was. i feel like this also shows how close mams and belphie are even if it's not shown much on screen in the game, or at least how much belphie takes after mammon's, if not all of his older brothers traits, for better or worse
Tumblr media
well nvm...i still think my theory is valid though. belphie wants to go back to his old life and end up not losing lilith, but still have mc with him
Tumblr media
i wonder how similar mammon and belphie's bond in the celestial realm is to their bond in the devildom. is belphie still as reluctant to ask for help and advice openly? is the banter still the same? are there less insults? how does the age gap here cause them to treat each other differently if at all? or the lack of angelic status?
Tumblr media
oh i'm gonna cry
big brother mammon will always have my heart and i need more of him
we know belphie's love of stars and constellations and the night sky in general started when he was in the celestial realm, and seeing it manifest in mammon in his mindscape makes my heart happy, even if mammon isn't the reason he became interested in astronomy (was it michael? lucifer? idk i don't remember)
i also think it's very interesting how belphie's brain is actively working against him "wanting to hide from mc". he literally said "i don't want you to see the inside of my mind" and is hiding away from them. i think, in reality and in his mindscape, he's running from the fact that he has to face his feelings about the idea of mc leaving to go to the "human realm" and the possibility of losing them forever like he lost lilith
Tumblr media
this was (obviously) not beel speaking, but his inner thoughts in the shape and voice of beel. circling back to belphie having the best and worst traits of his brothers, his insecurity and need for reassurance rivals levi's, and we don't get to see it as blatantly because he masks it way better than levi does
Tumblr media
ok so we're here in the timeline...interesting. how much time passed between luci and dia's first meeting and the celestial war? how much time had passed between the celestial war and mc's initial arrival to the devildom? how much had belphie aged?
angels and demons age different than humans do, and belphie doesn't feel any older than like...10 or 11 at the most, but beel seems older than that. maybe its his mind warping things to make himself seem and feel younger, but maybe he really was that young. was lilith even born at this point? how old was belphie during the time of the war ?????
also i'm mad we didn't get to see michael bc i wanna know what he looks like but oh well 🧍🏾
Tumblr media Tumblr media
oh baby :((((
i'm not the biggest belphie fan AT ALL, at least canon belphie, but i think it's necessary to acknowledge how his trauma severely affects the way he acts. he went from blaming himself, to blaming an entire race of people for his sister's death. he feels like he should've been the one to die, even if it meant leaving his twin without him
now, if he got a proper redemption arc after lesson 16, THEN we could talk. i think the devs fumbled his character in that regard, but my hcs about his redemption will have to suffice for now
he didn't want mc to see this dark part of himself because he hates that he still has this mindset, that he's trapped in a cycle of "what ifs" and wishing it were him instead of her, constantly ruminating and letting his anger and grief fester without ever dealing with it properly and letting himself heal. he not only thinks he doesn't deserve to heal, but that he doesn't deserve to live long enough to see himself heal, that he doesnt deserve to live at all
Tumblr media
WHY ARE YOU BEING DIFFICULT????
i mean i knew this would happen since its only lesson 34 and there's still 6 more to go...but damn
i love and hate the fact that he's so smart. like, they could easily just ask barbatos to send them back to the human realm if it was that serious. he's clearly taken a liking to them. lucifer knows something's up, and he won't forge a pact with them until he gets to the bottom of whatever's going on
Tumblr media
initially, i thought it was a spell to bring them back since he'd been the one facilitating the trips into the brothers' mindscapes this whole time, but this is wayyy more interesting
i feel like the barbatoses communicate across timelines, or that their lives intermingle with each others' somehow, so whatever they feel for one person in a specific timeline is felt for ever version of them in every timeline. we know barbatos, at the very least, knows that kayden is an important person in the grand scheme of things, whether it be because of the way diavolo feels about them or because they play a large part in the obey me version of a canon event
if it's more than base level importance, we can assume that there's a level of trust and love that barbatos feels for mc that stretches across time (callback to the login screen's dialogue)
maybe he gave us the piece of the grimoire for a reason outside of belphie's mindscape escapades. what if this is how we gain lucifer's trust? if a demon as powerful as barbatos can give mc a piece of his grimoire, then he should be able to make a pact with them, seeing as they're trustworthy enough to be in cahoots with THE time demon
anyways barbatos is nightbringer and you can't tell me otherwise. unless you think it's michael. then i might hear you out...i'm stuck between thinking either of them is the titular character simply because of the simultaneous lack and abundabce of emphasis on michael's importance

Obey Me! Nightbringer Theory
I might be wrong about this, but I wonder if Solomon was born around the start of the Bubonic Plague.
He is centuries old. And judging by what Thirteen said :
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's a possibility, at least.
There's also other info that has been revealed in this chapter and previous ones that makes me question this theory. Such as where Solomon grew up, his childhood, etc.
Not to mention Barbatos is the one who brought him from the human world, and according to Thirteen, Solomon looked like he was on the verge of death. So much so that Barbatos helped nurse him back to health.
That would mean Barbatos and Solomon would have met during a time when the Bubonic Plague was killing millions of people, right?
Which leads me to this :
Tumblr media
It would explain (at least partially) why Barbatos is so disgusted by rats/mice/rodents!
I'm also curious about the details surrounding the pact Solomon made with Barbatos. I have multiple theories, like maybe Barbatos agreed to save Solomon from death for whatever reason or maybe Solomon summoned Barbatos to take him someplace safe... There's just so many possibilities, and I'm super interested for more information to be revealed

Nightbringer theories (Obey Me; SPOILERS!)
Alrighty so I decided to play Nightbringer after being scared of it for the past few weeks; so far, I have some questions and theories in mind. I’m still on Lesson 8 so I’m not sure if most of my theories here are gonna be right or just straight up wrong.
Questions & Theories:
- Since Solomon came with us to the past (or more like came to the past to come aid for our ass), wouldn’t there be a chance the Solomon from THAT timeline/past meet the present Solomon we know of? Wouldn’t this create a whole time paradox….?
- Lilith’s body got disappeared by Diavolo so that she can get reincarnated as a human; would there be a chance we get to see her reincarnated form at least if we don’t see her angel form? Also, reminder that Lucifer is the only brother who knows she got reincarnated, so most likely the other 6 brothers will have a huge fucking melt down like last time in the previous Obey Me game.
- When the game first started, we hear Solomon narrating a bit about Barbatos and this human Barbatos went to. Solomon used they/them pronouns for the human, at first, I thought it might be us/MC—but then it occurred to me, why would the devs only now reveal our/MC’s appearance and the timeline that Barbatos met this human must’ve been a very very long time. Either 1. They used they/them pronouns for the human to keep their identity hidden until revealed later on 2. The human is either one of our ancestors/related to Lilith’s reincarnated form or 3. This human might be a Biblical figure from the Bible; if you go to the official Obey Me Instagram; they illustrated Barbatos controlling a puppet that looks like a king (some speculated the king is David as he is the father of Solomon).
- In another illustration made by the official Obey Me cast on Instagram, it shows Diavolo gesturing to a red apple. Either this is indicating he was the one that lured Eve to eat the apple and regretted that decision which is the reason why he decided to improve his behaviors later in life.
- Man when I heard Raphael’s voice during Asmo’s arc I thought it was Adam, but nvm, it wasn’t. We may see Adam in the story though, like I mentioned in one of my previous posts, Adam was Lilith’s ex husband, so I don’t doubt that the devs would add an element of it to the story.
- There isn’t much information about Barbatos in demonology and from mythologies, but it's ironic that from said mythologies, Barbatos has the ability to reconcile arguments between friends/rulers but he seems to have this heavy dislike towards Solomon and refuses to speak about it. I seriously wonder what Solomon did bc this man fucking forgot what he even did to the butler.
- While I was doing research on Barbatos, I stumbled upon this (credits to Myths and Folklore wiki editors!) according to the The Infernal Dictionary (a book of demonology). This is stated about Barbatos:
"Barbatos, great and powerful demon, count-duke in the underworld, a type of Robin Hood; he is shown in the form of an archer or a hunter; He is found in forests. Four kings sound the horn in front of him. He's acquired the knowledge to divine the speaking of birds, the roar of bulls, dogs barking and screaming various animals. He knows the locations of buried treasures, say magicians. He reconciles quarreled friends. This demon, who was once of the order of Virtues of Heaven or that of dominions, is reduced today to commanding thirty hellish legions. He knows the past and the future."
I personally don't think in the game, Barbatos is an angel (or maybe he is an angel but man's disappeared for so long everyone forgot him and my guy turned into a demon afterwards/hj). It'll be interesting to see his lore and how the devs wrote his backstory. In mythologies, he's illustrated looking like Robin Hood, so maybe Barbatos (in the game) went to the human to give them justice??? Take my theories with a pinch of salt.
And that's all I can think of, I'll make more theories as I continue playing in my free time.

OKAY I’m back on my theory bullshit. Spoilers for all the things below.
I was thinking about this post I wrote forever ago about how I thought we were dealing with past!Solomon rather than present!Solomon.
I also had a theory that there were two Solomons since he seemed to be inexplicably changing his outfits for no reason. (I didn't put that one in the masterlist and I admit that I didn't go looking for it lol. It's on my blog somewhere, possibly in one of my lesson related rants.)
And THEN I was thinking nah it has to be that these are all the same characters from the present & they’ve just had their memories erased.
Barbatos knows what’s going on. That seems plain enough to me.
Isn’t it possible that being eighth on the list was just an excuse? Because he can’t tell MC the true reason for his anger. So he's doing it for MC's sake and to keep up appearances? It doesn't really matter, though, 'cause this post ain't about him lol.
I still think my original theory about Solomon might be right, but there are a couple other things I think might be happening.
MASSIVE DISCLAIMER: I love Solomon. I always have, I always will. I don't mind if other people don't like him, I totally get it. We all have characters we don't like. But I just wanted to be clear, it's all good either way and I think everyone's opinion is valid. <3
Scenario One: We really did go back in time and this really is a past version of all the characters. Events are now being changed due to MC's presence.
Scenario Two: We're in a simulation of the past, these are all the same present characters, but with their memories wiped. This is why events are happening differently than how they did before.
Scenario Three: None of the characters are real and the whole thing is a simulation and MC has been in a coma all along.
I don't really think it's that last one, but man if that turns out to be it, I will be so angry.
Anyway, I think we're either dealing with past!Solomon who knows stuff because he knows Nightbringer and/or because he used Barb's powers to look into the future to learn about MC (see my original post for more about that) OR we're dealing with someone disguising themselves as Solomon part of the time (thus the changing outfits).
There has to be a reason why they showed us that hard lesson where Michael took on Raphael's entire appearance to travel to the Devildom himself. (Though I admit the reason could just have been about Michael and nothing to do with trying to showcase how identities can be misleading.)
If characters can do that, who's to say that isn't what Nightbringer's been doing all along?
And I can't imagine who Nightbringer would pretend to be other than Solomon, the one who knows the most about what's happening, the one who's currently closest to MC, the one who could actually influence how things go at this point.
I'M JUST SAYING.
This nonsense has been stewing in my brain since April. I'm so annoyed, I just wanna know what happens so I don't have to think about it anymore, even if it's a terrible resolution that I hate lol.
Anyway, that's it. I just needed to rant about it for a minute. I'm gonna go back to fic writing now. It's much healthier for my mental state.

Obey Me: Nightbringer
SPOILERS FOR OBEY ME: NIGHTBRINGER LESSONS 11 - 12 ( Normal and Hard Modes), and Devilgram Stories
It is nearly 2 am, so the best time to brainstorm.
Who is Nightbringer?
Spoilers and Theory under cut
---
Let's just throw this out there for one - Nightbringer is a demon. They even say it when you question what their intentions are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is more than likely not Michael and has nothing to do with him as well just from Nightbringer being a demon. At this point in time, demons and angels are not on the best of terms since an all-out war could break out at any moment. It's a reason why Diavolo wanted to send MC back to the human world. It is dangerous enough that the Devildom took in the brothers that fell and if word got out what Diavolo did for Lilith, then it is on sight for sure. There is no going back. There are also points from the OG! Game.
But I digress, Nightbringer is hinted at more of being Barbatos than anyone else. From the opening scenes, Barbatos' time and space-bending abilities and other variables come into play that make the most sense. Barbatos is a horrifyingly powerful demon. That fact seems to go over a lot of players' heads since it is a game. The fact remains, he can bend space and time to his fucking will. He can go back and forth in time as much as he wants and he admits to doing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is from the Devilgram - Tea Time With You, a UR+ card that you have to obtain the pieces for in the lessons. This card dropped a bombshell and gave us foreshadowing. Barbatos plays butler for atonement.
Tumblr media
This lets us glimpse into more of his personality. He did not care for others completely contradicting to what we saw from Day One. His exact words are "I never thought to think twice about the feelings of others I met along the way. I had zero interest in any of the beings I met along the way, nor in how my actions may or may not affect them." So why does he feel the need to atone? What did he do?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, when you ask him what he did -
Tumblr media
He knows. He absolutely knows who you are. He is just keeping his mouth shut as usual and letting the MC do their usual crackhead energy bullshit.
There are several things we know about Nightbringer -
1. They are a demon.
2. They have foresight.
3. They have been around for a long time.
4. They have connections to the Demon King lineage and Solomon
5. They appear kind.
There are probably more that I am missing and others are more than welcome to point them out, but these are the ones I can think of and they all point to one demon specifically.
Barbatos.
He is older than dirt, has connections to the demon king lineage and Solomon, can see past and future, is a fucking demon, and is very good at keeping up appearances.
Edit: Also wanted to add that it is also that mistake that might have led to Barbatos making a pact with Solomon since I still don't understand why he would want or need to make a pact with Solomon.
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

Beel’s Secret
Spoilers for Nightbringer Lesson 9 onward!
A theory of Beel’s possible involvement in the death of Lilith
Belphie mentions that both of them feel guilty about Lilith’s death and that Beel blames himself.
Ok we already know this, why mention it?
Because if Belphie already knows about Beel’s guilt then how could it be something he’s never told him?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Beel’s potential involvement in Lilith’s death
The only reason I could see Beel hiding anything from Belphie is if he’s afraid of how’d he react. Belphie mentions in his talk with you in Lesson 10 that all he can think about when he’s alone is who’s to blame for what happened. Obviously we know he blames himself and this manifested into a hatred of humans. But Beel may be afraid of this hatred being projected onto him, and with his own guilt it’d make sense that if he had any part in Lilith’s death, he’d keep it a secret. Sometimes we don’t tell our loved ones things because we’re afraid they may judge us, even if deep down we know they never would. The mind is a our greatest prison, after all.
Some potential answers
The least interesting answer is that he never told Belphie but because of their twin telepathy he knows how Beel feels. It feels super counterintuitive to have the others discuss things that weren’t explored in ObeyMe only to have Beel talk about something we’ve been aware of since season 1. So this answer is not only uninteresting it seems very unlikely.
A more interesting theory is that Beel had a direct impact on Lilith’s decision to save her human lover. Like…oh I don’t know, recommending the idea of using celestial fruit that could be used to save her lover. Food has always been Beel’s thing so it would make sense for him to offer up a healing food for Lilith. He also has a strong urge to protect his loved ones, and if someone you loved came up to you to devastated that their lover is dying, you’d wanna help them.
We know the fruit she used is most likely an apple as Belphie has an open hatred for them. And while it could be just someone not liking a food, he seems to take personal offense to the apples mere presence.
Tumblr media
Beel has been mentioned twice now that he was in the human realm the day before the Celestial War. What could he have been doing down there?
Tumblr media
Beel was down in the human realm running an errand for Michael. Which is very strange given Beel was a Cherub, an angel who guarded the Celestial Realm’s gates. So it’s very odd that he’s been sent down into the human realm. Even more so because he was gone for several days.
Tumblr media
Something to note is that we have no idea where Lilith was the day before the war. She’s never mentioned probably because they’re still grieving so she’s most likely hanging out in the human realm with her dying lover.
My Theory
So then what was Beel tasked with in the human realm?
My personal theory is that he’s been sent to find Lilith. Obviously he’s wouldn’t be looking for her under the pretense of punishing her. He would just know that Michael wishes to talk with her, which wouldn’t be too unusual.
Anyways that’s my theory!!
I hope they do something interesting with this set up as Beel deserves it

Lesson 14 and the Rose Queen
Spoilers for the New Lesson 14
So during our latest lesson, we had a few more pieces of lore drop about the Devildom's past. I am gonna ramble a bit about it and how I feel it relates to a minor OG Obey Me character.
According to Diavolo, before the Devildom became the Devildom, it was ruled by a Fairy King, until they were put to sleep by having them ingest the blood of demon (who was apparently became the first Demon King) via trickery. As an aside, the lore tibit from the OG game about the Devildom starting as a primordial forest, personally is making sense if it was once Fairy Land. Anyway, the Fairy King was deposed and the realm became known as the Devildom. But what happened to all the fairies afterwards? In the OG game, some were encountered in the forests of the Human World, and they were said to be rare in recent times. However, could any of the known characters in the OG game or Nightbringer be fairies? I think yes, namely the Rose Queen. Quick breakdown, the Rose Queen is a character that appears in the two "Dame" events on the OG Obey Me game. What we know is she is a friend of Diavolo, and prior to the first event she featured in had a fear of male demons (then there was plot and character development and she became more comfortable). She is also known for her roses and has some degree of popularity in the Devildom. We are not told much else about her past, or if she is a demon or a sorceress or anything else. And now we are told that the lands of the Devildom were once ruled by fairies. And now entirely new option has become a lot more viable. To be entirely honest, I have had half-formed headcanon for the Rose Queen being linked to faeries long before the latest lesson, and I am quite happy I have been given a bone of sorts. As for the Rose Queen herself, I don't think there will be a third event with her, as long as the OG game is running (due to shared events). But I do wonder if we will encounter her in Nightbringer.

Demon mc gets stressed and subconsciously tugs at their horns and rub at the base where they grow out from similarly to how human will sometimes pull at their hair or pick at their skin.
A self soothing action found in demons with high anxiety.
Diavolo noticed this action over time and made a point to have you sit next to him or one of the other lords for comfort. If he catches mc, reaching to tug at their horns, he will gently take their hands and shake his head authoritatively. " No tugging, it'll hurt you"
Mc puts their hands back down as diavolo gives them scratches and pets on the spot in between their horns. He dgaf who sees, what is anyone gonna do??? He's the prince, and you're his favorite.

Wait in the bogeyman arc it turned into light when mimicking god so if god is light that would explain why its always day in the celestial real and always dark in develdome (with human real in between) like God's light literally doesn't reach them

‼️NIGHTBRINGER LESSON 36 SPOILERS‼️
masterlist | more theories | lesson 36
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i'm calling it now, this is how he became immortal | this is also why back in season 1 of nb (i think) thirteen said that his soul wasn't as shiny as mc's anymore. it was corrupted by whatever he saw or whoever he met in the underworld
i'm wondering if this has something to do with lilith, like there's no way she's not connected to solomon in the slightest
i've said this before, but now i have more context. maybe he's the human she fell for, and he was looking for a way to turn both of them immortal after her fall from grace, but he ended up being too late to get back to her. maybeor maybe he wasn't her lover, but her son, trying to save his mother death? him becoming a sorcerer in the first place might have something to do with healing whatever illness or disease lilith could've had. maybe time moves differently in the underworld depending on how deep you go? maybe he was so corrupted by what he saw that he didn't realize how long he was in the underworld for
not only did his soul dampen because of his underworld granted immortality, but because he lost the very person he was trying to give the immortality to, someone he loved more than he loved himself, and he blames himself for not just one of her deaths, but both of them
there's no way he's telling the whole truth. he didn't mention his experience with the lower levels at all, if he was alive enough or of sound enough mind to remember them

Obey Me! Nightbringer Lesson 40 Spoilers
I have read through all of Lesson 40, including in the Hard section.
And in the Hard section, it is shown that we have returned to the House of Lamentation.
But are we really supposed to believe that our return to the present/future is met with just a simple “hey, welcome home”?
I don’t know about you, but I think the devs could have easily written at least one full Lesson just celebrating our return, spending time with the brothers, explaining everything that we’ve been through in the past, etc.
Personally, I would love to see Lucifer just calmly telling Solomon “you’re lucky you brought them back home in one piece” and Solomon responding with “haha, is that a threat? Well don’t worry. I’d never let anything happen to my adorable apprentice. Anyway, we had quite the adventure. We even lived together.” just to try and piss Lucifer off. I love their little rivalry/feud when it comes to MC lol xD
And I mean, okay… Levi cried when he saw us and said it felt like we haven’t been there in so long. And Asmo agreed after hugging us.
But!
Are we truly back home?
There are so many theories and possibilities that I’ve been thinking about.
What if what we’re actually being shown is an alternate reality created by Nightbringer?
We haven’t seen or heard anything about Nightbringer for quite a while, so I’m highly skeptical that he just went away. In fact… I think he has a major role in everything going on right now. Why else would the devs introduce him in the first place?
Also, why wasn’t Solomon with us when we “returned” to the House of Lamentation?
It’s suspicious.
On the same note, what if Nightbringer has just intercepted our return home to show us “someplace we will be happy”, as he has said he could show us. It would explain why Solomon isn’t there (which begs the question : if this is the case, where is Solomon? Has the time travel been paused somehow and he’s temporarily unaware of what’s going on? Has he been returned home without us? Is he somewhere else within this new reality?)
Or what if we really are back home, and Lucifer is the only one who knows/remembers that we were missing (like, what if his brothers were losing it because it was taking so long for us to return, so he erased/altered their memories of all the time we weren’t there?)
OR!!! I know this is just me leaning into the whole “yandere Solomon” thing, but imagine if we are in a different reality where the brothers are just friendly towards us. No romantic feelings or love or anything like that.
I mean… Solomon did mention :
Tumblr media
Side note on this silly, unrealistic theory : imagine Solomon working together with Nightbringer to make this happen.
Putting all of my dark fantasies aside, though!
I’m also super curious about Barbatos. Before we left, he dropped this on us :
Tumblr media
He may not have given us any direct knowledge/information, but that's a big enough hint to convince me that he knew damn well we were from the future.
And if that’s the case… why would Barbaros allow us to be sent off to any place except back to where we came from? Unless he didn’t predict Nightbringer being involved?
I don’t know, though… I’m still super interested to find out more about Nightbringer and how/if he’s connected to Barbatos and Solomon.
I need more! *screams*
In all seriousness… I really hope there will be many more Lessons for us to look forward to, and that we'll get more direct answers soon ^^

Okay I have a Nightbringer theory and I just need to write it down before I explode.
Massive spoilers, so putting it all below the cut!
What if the Solomon we're dealing with is the Solomon from the past?
I feel like they made it a point to show us that Solomon can force Barbatos to do things even when he doesn't want to. That time in the labyrinth where he agreed to get rid of the spider, but wouldn't open a portal, Solomon essentially commanded him to do it anyway. And he did.
Barbatos has also talked about being able to look into the future. Like not necessarily traveling there, but seeing what it holds or looking at various timelines and options.
So what if Barbatos is angry at Solomon because Solomon forced him to use his power to look into the future (or even straight up send him there). And Solomon saw enough about the brothers and MC to pretend that he is from the future, too. And he did it because he knew that Nightbringer would be bringing MC back to the past. He clearly knows Nightbringer, so it's possible he was aware that this was going to happen. And I very much believe that Barbatos knows MC is from the future, even if he hasn't said anything about it either way.
I think this might be the case because in the last lesson Solomon talked a lot about MC siding with humanity. Like he's preparing for a war that's somehow gonna happen between humans and angels/demons. Why would he care about that when in the future, the three worlds have made such progress when it comes to accepting each other? I mean, he knows that in the future, Diavolo and the brothers all love MC and consider them a representative for all of humanity. So surely they already see humans as equals?
I also thought that Solomon from the future respected the brothers and considered them friends. So why would he be looking for their grimoire? Why would he want that kind of power over them? Is it really because he thinks they're going to have to fight? He's also gotta know that MC wouldn't side with humanity against the demon brothers who are like their family now, right?
However, if this is past Solomon, he either didn't get enough information from the future or he's following his own agenda that's meant to directly change the past in his favor?
I also highly suspect that Michael is Nightbringer (as others have pointed out, there's the thing with the trumpets and also all the things Solomon said to him). And we know that Michael gave Solomon the Ring of Wisdom, though we don't know when or how or why.
I dunno, I hope I'm wrong because I really don't want Solomon to be the enemy here. And I know I said previously that I can't doubt him anymore, but that is no longer the case. The more I think about it, the more suspicious he seems! I'm sorry, Solomon, I love you and I hope I'm wrong D:
(Also I'm sure I'm not the first person to come up with this thought. It just keeps pestering me so I had to write it down somewhere lol.)

Obey Me Nightbringer - Theory
Obey Me Nightbringer! Spoilers and Thoughts undercut
It is kind of long and rambly.
I was in the middle of going through Lesson 11 and 12 thoughts, but nope, our devs decided to drop Lesson 13 instead and leave it on a cliffhanger, like usual.
Tumblr media
The first thing is damn you Barbatos. You know what the hell is going on and you refuse to tell us because you need us to do our own thing. I need to say that before I go on. I love him, but I wanna make him eat Solomon's cooking right now.
That screenshot is just one of those several times where he gets very quiet, knowingly quiet. I've said it before and I'm pretty sure that Barbatos is Nightbringer. Everything is just pointing to Barbatos being Nightbringer and if it is not him, then it is a demon we have yet to meet.
I have many thoughts and theories of what is happening and what is going to happen. I'll try to simplify them, but one is that Nightbringer did not bring us down there with malicious intent. They truly wanted us to be happy as they said,
Tumblr media
The main thing that I can think of, it is just a theory, but I believe this is the beginning of our story. What we have gathered from hints and tidbits is that Nightbringer can see the future, and past and is very powerful which is why it makes sense to be Barbatos. It gives them the ability to see what will or could happen. I don't believe there was a time when it specifically said that it was a concrete thing. The future will be based on our choices. We are a wildcard that has great power.
Diavolo compared our power to the level of a grimoire, that book that makes a demon obey you without a pact. That high-level magic. We are always told we are powerful, but we truly frightened Lucifer when we got that grimoire. All the more impact it made when we gave him the book instead of using it. A choice that Solomon didn't realize we would do. We are always surprising the others to no end which is amusing, but again, we are a true wildcard. I am getting kind of sidetracked. Back to my point, our power gives us the ability to choose. We were told our choices would make an impact in this game and I believe others have stated it as well- we can choose how the future will change. It is a running theme of just how unhinged we are, of how our choices keep shocking those around us, time and time again.
So why am I bringing all that up? Simple, we are at the center just like Solomon was before. Being forced to pick a side- one of 3: Celestial Realm, Devildom, or the Human World. Solomon picked. We know what he picked, but Solomon also didn't have any real attachments to the up or down. We do.
We've made friends with angels, demons, and even a neutral party. We have a connection with all three worlds, strong connections and we could go anyway which is very dangerous. Our connections made a new thing called 'The Ring' that make chaos in all three worlds. It was so powerful and unstable that it could've killed us and everyone if it wasn't severed or we got to stabilize it with the ring of light. We are powerful and are a threat. That is why Diavolo tried to send us back to the human world(which wouldn't work anyway) and why the mystery voice decided to warn us.
Tumblr media
Who do I think this is? Simple, Michael. It makes the most sense. Let's talk about Michael aka the Sugar Jellyfish for a second. He is a very interesting character to me. We have yet to actually physically meet him in-game, but he sure does know a lot about us. It is quite possible he heard everything from Luke and Simeon after all, but Raphael tells us that he learned a lot of MC from Michael.
Michael is such a strange existence for me. He is a powerful being like Diavolo and of course, Lucifer. He is Diavolo's counterpart at this point more than likely since they are the de-facto rules of their respective realms. He shares a similar personality to Lucifer - they were like "twins" as Satan has put it. He was known to talk to out and not use violence as that was Lucifer's goto.
"Michael is calm, yet stern, when he is angry. He prefers to talk rather than use physical discipline, in contrast with Lucifer." - Obey Me Wiki (Michael). That is a great way to put it, but he wasn't above physical discipline.
Now, what about that sentence about the Celestial Realm being less tolerable regarding our behavior? That could be from the original game. We were getting very close to the Devildom. It is shifting the power too much for the CR's liking.
Tumblr media
Barbatos said it all in the first game. After all, this is a continuation of the first game. When you finish lesson 80 the door will instruct you to go to Nightbringer to continue the story. When we were in the coma, the voice brought up the fact that they saved us before.
Tumblr media
In the first game, there are only 2 separate events that the voice could be referring to. The event when we received the ring of light(38-17) OR when we got sent back in time in a dream from eating Solomon's cooking(44-18). I believe they are referring to when we were sent in the past. The Ring of Light saved us, not the voice in the ring event, but the voice did send us back to our own time from the food event. They also have the same tone.
Tumblr media
Plus time wise- it makes sense. We were sent back when the brothers were still angels. So this event of us promising and falling under the curse technically happened after this. It makes more sense for the voice to refer to that than the Ring of Light event. If this is Michael, it makes sense he is still on edge. The war just ended, and the wound is still fresh. Time hasn't passed enough that he has come to regret his actions because he does. He has thoughts of what ifs and could haves. Luke tells us this about Michael looking at where the brothers' pictures used to be, about he's always asking about them, he kept so much stuff of Lucifers. He loved the brothers and misses them.
Tumblr media
So if go by that, the event the voice has to be referring to is during Lesson 8 when we helped Adam. We opened the gate. We weren't supposed to open the gate. No one should be able to do that, yet we did. We did the impossible. We did it to help Adam. It wasn't meant to be a threat, but the CR sure saw it like that.
After all, no one knows us. We are in the past before we could make the friends we already have. We only have Solomon. The brothers and others aren't the ones we know. While Barbatos (probably) knows, he can't say anything. He has to let us do our own thing.
Nightbringer = Barbatos
New/ Old voice = Michael
I'm sure they are the same people that were talking to Solomon (10-A).
So again, I don't think Nightbringer brought us there with malicious intent. I think they brought us there for a reason- that reason is for us to be happy. And how are we happy?
We are happy where we were, with our friends that we made from all 3 worlds. The only way to have that is to get the ball rolling to where the story we know of will begin. When we are summoned to a certain council room as the new human exchange student.
So I think this is the beginning of our story and to start that, we have to make the world stable enough for us to be brought down in the first place.
There are still holes in this theory and will change as the lessons are released I'm sure since Candy(Thirteen's sister) might play a part in this since she keeps getting mentioned. There are bits that refer to Nightbringer as a demon and not a demon, but honestly, I think that is just meant to confuse the reader. Plus I like the fact that when Nightbrigher talks, the background is dark like the devildom, but when the other voice talks, we get light like the CR and when we were in the curse, first we spoke to NB then the other voice before we woke up. The reflection of the two is amusing to me.
