dragon age crossover (I am not venturing back into darp yet. I will not follow back da-exclusive blogs unless I know you):
premise: Lark plane shifts. her spell goes awry as they sometimes do post-canon. she lands in Orlais with Celene's peace talks on the very near horizon.
Bhaal cannot reach her on this plane. That alone is reason enough to sate her curiosity about this world. Access to her magic in Thedas is problematic because of the Veil. Finding her way home will be a challenge. The feeling of unease she gives off remains, but sporadically.

Part 2 of Fem!Reader who can control sound x Alastor
▃ ▄ ▅ ▆ ▇ █ █ ▇ ▆ ▅ ▄ ▃
After your most recent encounter with the radio demon you wanted to stay on high alert. You couldn't be caught being the person interrupting his broadcasts by random rock songs you thought he'd hate with a strong passion to just interrupting him by calling him old and outdated.
You knew he wanted to find out the person interrupting his broadcasts, it was obvious he'd try pry information out of you whenever you got on his broadcasts. He would ask about your name or how long you've been in hell or just what you look like. You would go from interrupting his broadcasts to interrupting the weird shit Vox yaps on about in his podcasts with jazz music just to make his systems crash at the thought of alastor what is surprisingly more amusing then interrupting alastor. Maybe you would quit pestering alastor and maybe join him to get under vox's skin. Okay he may hate you but he didn't know who you was when you bumped into him the other day and he seemed awfully nice! What if he hated you when he finds out you're the one messing up his broadcasts? Should you try befriend alastor?

Once you got back from ur morning walk u stood outside your apartment building and looked up to see the building on fire. Fucking turf wars. Honestly a joke! Now you have nowhere to live and you lost all your belongs it's only 8 in the morning and they're already going at it. Well that's besides the point now, you need to figure out where to live. You had left your purse in the building so you have no money for a new apartment. Guess your gonna have to go find somewhere to stay now.Whilst walking around town whistling your favorite tune you notice an advert for 'Hazbin Hotel's to redeem sinners. That sounds unrealistic but if you get free housing and maybe a chance in heaven what's the worst that could happen..
❀•°•═════ஓ๑♡๑ஓ═════•°•❀
Once you got to the building you only had to wait at least a second after knocking for a blonde girl shorter then you to open the door "Hi what can I do for you my names charlie! " she shook your hand before you cleared your throat "my names y/n I'm looking for a place to stay.. Maybe redemption?" As soon as you said that she squealed and dragged you into the lobby. After being introduced to vaggie Charlie's girlfriend husker angel dust and nifty, who's most certainly going to be in your nightmares tonight Charlie informed you there was one more person you hadn't met. 𝘼𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧. How was you supposed to tease and mock one of hells overlords when your now going to be staying inside the same building as him??? Surely he won't find out.. Right??

Dance Practice
Tumblr media
Eden: Charlie, you are literally the best brother ever! I can't believe you managed this. I mean, I'm actually standing in Sugar Valentine's actual dance studio. I'm kinda freaking out a little.
Charlie: Only a little?
Eden: Okay, a lot! I'm gonna get to watch their dance practice. How many people can say they did that?
Charlie: Not just watch, remember.
Eden: Oh my Watcher... I know! I'm just trying not to actively think about it so I don’t completely lose my mind. How did you even convince them to let me dance with them?
Charlie: I can't take any credit for that. It was all Haru.
Eden: Really? No way. You're totally making that up.
Charlie: I swear I'm not. Apparently, he hasn't been able to shut up about you since he saw your pictures in my portfolio, that day I was here for my in-person interview. From what I heard, he wouldn't stop pestering Ms. Fujikawa and their security people and even Sheridan, until they all agreed you could come.
Eden: Haru... wanted to meet me that bad?
Charlie: Evidently.
Eden: I'm gonna wake up any minute now, aren't I?
Charlie: You're already awake, bro.
Eden: *incoherent fanboy squealing*
Tumblr media
Charlie: Word of caution, though. He probably just wants to meet you so he can get into your jeans. He's got a pretty wild reputation, and according to Senjirō, it's all true.
Eden: You gossiped with Senjirō? You've worked with these guys for like, only a week, and the tea is already flowing? And you're so calm about it.
Charlie: They're just guys like us, you know. Anyway, be careful with Haru, okay?
Eden: You think I'm worried about him wanting to get into my jeans, as you put it? I've literally lost count of the people I've slept with at this point.
Charlie: Uh…
Eden: But like, if that's what he wants, I'm not gonna make him work for it. I might die of a heart attack if that really is what he wants, though.
Tumblr media
Charlie: All right, fine. But, if you do end up, uh… doing it, don't tell anyone. And for the love of the Watcher, don't post about it on Simstagram.
Eden: Would I do that?
Charlie: Just... don't.
Eden: I won't, I promise.
Tumblr media
Charlie: Okay. I'll stay here till everone comes downstairs, and then I'm heading over to Peak Entertainment to meet with Ms. Fujikawa. The security lady said she'd drive you to the rink after dance practice, but text me when you get there anyway.
Eden: I will.
Charlie: Her name is Ji-Soo. She’s South Korean, so you don’t need to speak Japanese. She also looks like she could lift a truck, so don’t be stupid around her.
Eden: Okay.
Charlie: Nikolai's gonna bring your skates to the rink for you, right?
Eden: Yeah, and my sweater and my favourite rink hat. That's what he said before we left. I could've brought them with me, but they don't fit in my dance bag, and I didn't want to carry too much stuff.
Charlie: Makes sense.
Eden: Ugh… afternoon practice. This would’ve been so much easier If I could’ve driven myself to the rink. Then, you could’ve picked me up there, and I could’ve just left my skates and stuff in my car.
Charlie: Yeah, and Nikolai still could’ve used your car while you were here. So, still no morning ice time, I guess?
Eden: No. probably not. Nikolai's signing up for Japanese classes today, and I think they're gonna be in the morning, so even if we could've gotten the ice time, it wouldn't have worked out anyway.
Charlie: That sucks, but at least you've got ice time.
Eden: And the best coach ever.
Charlie: Right. Well, don't wear yourself out at dance practice before you even get to the rink, or the best coach in the world may not be impressed.
Eden: *laughing* Nobody wants to see Nikolai in a bad mood, least of all me, but don't worry. I'll be fine to skate. I'm pretty sure the adrenaline rush from this morning will keep me going all day.

Sent it, love you too etc
4. If you could wake up tomorrow in the SPN world, would you? Why or why not?
I don't have much of a reasoning for this one apart from that I find the characters and mechanisms (like purgatory and tricksters, and how some of the supernatural things work) compelling. I would study that stuff until it killed me. Also the poc and rowena and eileen and I would talk shit about others so much Yes, I would wake up there if I could.
5. Samjess, Sameileen, Samruby, Samcas, or someone else?
Oh, man. Can I advocate all? I'm gonna advocate for all.
Saileen/sameileen because they're so good for each other. They both care so much and it's like. eileen deserves someone who's all blushy and protective of her even though she doesn't NEED that, and sam deserves to (and does!) care about someone who doesn't always express a need for softness. also they're both so insane if you look at them for more than five seconds. perfect match really. Also, they're a T4T bi4bi couple.
Samruby for the exact opposite reasons. No thoughts here, just two people who could not be worse for each other. bloodfreak and the OG gaslightgatekeepgirlboss, plus knifeplay. Also it's just really funny when ruby cracks jokes about murdered nuns and god, and sam tries not to spontaneously combust.
Samjess is sweet in its own way, I guess, but I can't really imagine much for this pairing? It was literally only there for one episode. Very formative, though. You gotta like it for the right reasons, e.g. "I was dead from the moment we said hello"
Samcas/sastiel: soulfisting. that's all I'm gonna say. they're queerplatonic to me Samwena is also one of my fave dynamics, but I'm not too fond of it as a purely romantic relationship
TL;DR - I like them all for different reasons, but if I had to pick one, it'd be saileen (one of the few good things that came out of dabb era tbh)
11. If you HAD to get rid of one member of TFW, who would it be?
Dean, easy.
JOKING. don't make me choose, man.
17. What’s an aspect of SPN people often point to as a flaw that you really enjoy?
The dark lighting in early seasons? Yeah you need to double your screen brightness, and it definitely would have been a problem while the show aired on TV, but at least there's some contrast. some vibe. some fucking horror. Okay that's not that unpopular, so I'll talk about the whole... angel population situation going on in heaven. It's the direct consequence of Cas' s6 actions, and its effects are felt throughout the rest of the show. Intentional or not, I love the idea of this one being's ruthless quest for free will backfiring so badly precisely BECAUSE he's handling the concept on such a large scale for the first time. And he feels the consequences for so long. that does two things: a) make way for a very interesting dynamic in heaven (not explored well enough imo but it's There in the show), and b) imply the kind of explosive power even the desire to "change the system" can have on something like heaven, which in spn functions almost entirely on faith as far as I remember?
29. You can cut one character at any point of the show. Who would it be AND what would happen as a result?
Oh, just one? Okay, ketch or gadreel I guess. Let's go with Ketch. As a result half the fuckery of s12 vanishes and Magda Peterson gets to her aunt's house healthy and happy. If it's gadreel, then half the fuckery of s9 vanishes and Kevin gets to kill the Winchesters for his health and sanity.
30. Make up a fact about a character and convince me it’s true.
Charlie Bradbury hacked her way into Bobby's old computer, found a bunch of disgustingly sweet photos of him and Rufus (and one of him kissing this other guy in a priest outfit looking into the camera??), and pestered the old man into sharing gay escapades from back in the day. they're besties now <3

You rocked my Heart
Chapter Five: Five Steps to losing your Mind
The winter holidays were steadily approaching, and CJ was anything but looking forward to it. It wasn't new for them to hate being stuck around their father several weeks on end. What was unlike them, however..
"I'd rather go to school than endure another Christmas with that dick.." they muttered, arms crossed like a stubborn kid. All of their friends stared at them in disbelief.
"Please tell me you didn't just say this," Charlie sounded almost terrified to hear CJ repeat themself. But to everyone's horror, they nodded. "I did, sue me."
Egeith, Via, Sunghee and Charlie turned to look at each other as if they were clueless on what to do. "It has to do with Darnell, doesn't it?" Rika eventually asked with a raised eyebrow. When she noticed CJ quickly look away changed her face into almost a petty grin.
"I see how it is. You didn't suddenly start to care about school, you just want to see him. Go ahead, tell me I'm right. We all know I am." It sounded incredibly arrogant, but that was just her way of teasing any of her friends. The fact that she was right, however, made CJ only more persistent on not wanting to admit it.
They shrug slightly and continued to avoid looking at any of their friends. Now that Rika had exposed the reason for this outrageous statement stepped Sunghee forward to stand with her. "For real dude. You almost exclusively hang with him during breaks now. And even when you don't, you're either just physically present or you don't stop babbling about him."
"Fine, I'll stop it then.." CJ huffed, wanting to drop the topic and just pretend this conversation never happened. But Charlie shook her head. "Jay, we all know th'next day Nells is back in school, you're gonna forget you said this and waddle around with him like nothing happened."
At this point could CJ feel how their blood began to boil. The way their friends talked about them was anything but 'caring' or 'well-intended' in their eyes. "Like, just admit it that-" Rika continued before being cut off.
"What? What is it you keep pulling my damn dick about, huh?!" CJ had pushed themself off the wall to stand just mere inches away from Rika. Their eyes were wide open, staring at her with an intensity that made almost everyone around fear for a moment that looks actually could kill. But their boxing mate wasn't fazed by this even one bit.
"Admit that you got a crush on Darnell."
Eyes flickered back and forth between the two friends, waiting for any type of reaction. The few seconds that ticked by dragged on like they were minutes. That only caught the group even more off guard when suddenly, CJ's right arm shot forward to punch Rika right in the guts, knocking the air out of her and making her bend over with a pained groan.
Charlie and Sunghee were quick to jump in and check on her, all while Egeith and Via watched CJ leave, both of them standing as if frozen in place out of shock. Luckily, Rika had already thought of this possible outcome, so the punch landed against tensed muscle. Regardless, the force of that hit was enough to make her knees weak for a while.
*
CJ didn't see their friends for the remainder of their school day. Not because Rika and the rest of the group were avoiding CJ, but because CJ was avoiding them. They all would've been okay with talking things out and settle the problem. However CJ was still pissed off. It went to the point that they actively chose to walk home in the freezing cold instead of having to ride with any of the bunch in a car.
Anything was better than being pestered about them 'having a crush on Darnell'. The long walk after school gave them enough time to think about the whole situation over and over.
A crush on Darnell. Ridiculous! Rika must've been on some some stupid drug to come up with such an insane claim. The two have been friends since elementary, she should know CJ well enough to see this was not a crush. Out of all people, she should be the one to know what a crush looked like for them. Hell, Rika helped them get together with a girl just a few years ago!
To be fair, the relationship lasted barely a few months. But only because Hanna had to move towns and neither of them wanted to be in a long distance relationship. That didn't matter now though! The point was that Rika should've known better than to say this stupid nonsense. CJ was in the right, Rika wasn't. Darnell and them were nothing but friends, end of story.
Despite how easy they had made it for themself, their mind couldn't stop bringing the topic up over and over, no matter how many times they tried to dismiss it.
At least they soon arrived at home, so they had other things to worry about then. It wasn't great, but at least it worked as a distraction.
In the foyer hung CJ their coat and scarf in their usual places and left the snow covered boots to dry by the doormat. The house was already warm enough to make the first snowflakes melt right away. Joane was busy in the laundry room, and Henry and Aaron were unaware of their brother's return as both kids' eyes were glued to the tv screen. For a few minutes, CJ would get a chance to lay down in peace.
In their room, CJ tossed their bag aside into its usual corner and put on one of their vinyls to play. The headphones were already plugged in as always, so in that brief moment where the music was not yet being picked up by the fine stylus flopped the tired teen down on their bed and put them on over one ear before closing their eyes.
For just a short while could they relax. Pretend everything was fine in life. Ignore the pain of their knuckles and fingers on their right hand that continued to throb with every heartbeat. Be a normal junior year student with a happy family and amazing friends.
But as always, the illusion didn't last long forever.
"CJ!" Cristoff's loud voice sounded through the entire house not too long after the oldest child had laid down for some rest, half an hour at most. He had just come in and closed the front door as he caught sight of the puddle of melted snow in the foyer. CJ probably would've heard that yell even with their headphones completely on.
Just as they were making their way downstairs came Joane running into the living room. She switched off the tv and grabbed her youngest kids by their arms to quickly send them upstairs, "Come on, hurry up! You don't have to hear this, go play upstairs." However Cristoff blocked her path and shook his head. "No no no, let them stay. It might be a good idea for them to see that there are consequences for bad behaviour. They don't have to become such a failure like their brother after all."
"You called?" CJ grumbled as they had reached the end of the stairs. Cristoff looked at them with an exaggerated fake smile. "There he is!" He was about to continue right away, but CJ didn't give him that chance. "Let them go."
His smile immediately turned into an ugly glare as he snarled at them, "That is exactly the type of behaviour I was talking about. Not even an ounce of respect for his father left."
"Kinda hard to respect someone who makes his wife and kids watch how he tries to yell at his oldest child to be honest."
Cristoff didn't turn his stare away for even a second, he was almost entirely fixated on CJ in that moment. Meanwhile they looked back at him with nothing but exhaustion in their eyes. Today had already been stressful enough for them, it would've been great to at least catch a break at home. But of course the universe wouldn't let them have that.
"Look, yell at me all you want. But keep them out of it," CJ tried to reason with their father despite them knowing this rarely worked, if it ever did. Thus it didn't surprise anyone to see Cristoff shake his head.
"You bastard child got quite some nerve, trying to tell me what to do. You are a failure, good for nothing other than serve as the perfect bad example for Aaron and Henry so they won't turn out like you, too."
Every word their father was spitting from his mouth got CJ more and more angry. They started clenching their right hand into a fist as it still rested in the pocket of their hoodie. "They're kids. Just let them be and I'll fix whatever stuff I did wrong this time."
Cristoff put on the same fake smile from before as he laughed just as staged over his eldest's words. "Oh you wish." Before they could bring their hands up had he already stormed up to CJ and grabbed them by the hair on the back of their head.
"Cristoff, please.." Joane quietly begged her husband. By that point, she was holding both kids close to herself and trying to shield their eyes as best possible from the scene going down in front of them. But he didn't pay her any mind as he stared right into CJ's half open eyes.
"Now tell me, why should I listen to a little rat like you? Hm?"
Even with the threat being right up in their face had CJ the guts to look over at their mother and little brothers. Joane met their gaze, holding onto Aaron and Henry like she was prepared to pick the two up and run. The firm grip to the back of their head made it impossible for them to nod at her, so they only twitched their eyebrows upwards as a sign instead.
"I asked you something!" Cristoff yelled and yanked at CJ's hair. He hadn't noticed Joane rushing past him towards the stairs with her kids until they were in his line of sight, rapidly climbing up the steps. "Joane, if you dare-"
The very second that he had taken his eyes off his son took CJ the opportunity to kick their knee upwards into his groin, knocking him fully to the ground with a jab at his chest. As Cristoff dropped on his back and yelled in pain took CJ a deep staggered breath, trying to bite back the tears that welled up in their eyes. The loud sounds, the pain, and the aggression in them was far too much at once.
"Never try shit like this again," they warned their father from afar. "If you just as much as think about making anyone's life hell here, I swear I'll knock you down until you can't show your face at work anymore."
They didn't care whether he had heard their words. CJ had made themself clear enough, this wasn't all they could do. Thus, they quickly made their way back upstairs into their room and locked the door behind them. The record player had stopped spinning already a while ago, and now CJ was once again left with the heavy feeling of rage in their stomach. Just that this time, they didn't feel bad about punching a friend over a stupid conversation, but instead a form of guilt and remorse from knowing Aaron and Henry had to witness this.
*
The next day CJ woke up, they couldn't believe their eyes at first when looking at their alarm clock and seeing it was 10:47 AM, on a Saturday. They jumped out of bed to search for their watch. And although it always was behind by a minute or two did it also present them with almost the exact same time of day.
When quietly opening their door were they met with an eerie silence. No siblings bickering or squealing, no frying pan moving atop the stove, not even the tv was playing. At first, they hesitated to go downstairs and look around, but the thought of being all alone in the house was far too scary for them to keep hiding away in their room.
Luckily, Joane was sitting in the kitchen and reading the newspaper all by herself. She put down her cup of coffee when she saw CJ peek around the corner and smiled at them. "Morning, Jay."
"Where is everyone?.."
"Henry and Aaron are still in their rooms, probably sleeping. I thought it would be best to let you all sleep a bit longer today."
"And Cristoff?"
Joane sighed a little, looking elsewhere for a moment like she had to decide what she would tell her oldest son. "I have no idea. He grabbed some clothes and took off, sometime between last night and this morning. But I doubt he'll be gone for long."
The two fell silent for a moment. It was hard for either of them to form any sort of coherent thought at that time, especially with CJ's already muddled and messed up mind. Before they even noticed her getting up had Joane already pulled them in for a gentle embrace, holding CJ to comfort them. They had no idea how much they needed this up until then.
"I was thinking that once everyone is up, we could go visit grandma," Joane muttered after a while, still keeping her son close in her arms. "To get out of the house, think about other stuff for a while."
"Sounds great, but I'd rather stay home actually.."
"You sure this is a good idea?"
"I need time to myself. Did some messed up shit yesterday, m'head wasn't straight.."
Their mother was about to defend CJ's actions as she heard what they had said. But all that came from her was a soft 'oh' when she understood that they weren't talking about the things that had happened at home.
"Alright then.. I'll let you know when we leave, and I'll call before we come back. Sounds good?" She smiled again as CJ nodded against her shoulder as confirmation.
As they made their way back upstairs a while later came Aaron out of his room. He looked as confused and scared as CJ had felt earlier this morning before he sighed in relief at the sight of his older brother. They looked at each other for a moment before Aaron ran up to CJ and hugged them tightly.
"It's okay, Ari. He isn't here," they quietly reassured him. He looked up at CJ with big, worried eyes and spoke in a voice that sounded as if it could break more easily than a fine vase. "Are you okay?.."
"Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry. Now go to mom, she has some plans for you two today." CJ patted their brother's back lightly to get out of the hug and finally lay back in bed. Though as Aaron had left and CJ was by themself in their room settled yet another unknown and uneasy feeling in their guts.
The comfort from the two hugs was still lingering in them, but something was missing about both. And CJ had no idea what that could possibly be. They tried to figure out the answer, eventually pacing around their room in circles. Every new round made their frustration grow until they eventually stopped dead in their tracks as something had caught their eye.
On their desk was still the collection of notes from their chemistry study session with Darnell. CJ rarely used that desk for anything other than tossing somewhat important papers onto, so it was no surprise to still find it laying there. The pages were filled with coloured sketches and info texts that the two had made together on that Saturday.
For the few times that CJ would make study notes for an exam, they usually tossed them in the trash once that was over. But the thought of doing the same with these notes just didn't sit right with them.
A calm smile flickered onto their face at the sight of one of the corners on the paper where Darnell had doodled a little smiley face as a reward for their efforts. Something about this tiny goofy drawing filled their chest with warmth. That was the moment realisation hit them.
Fuck. I have a crush on Darnell.
Suddenly, the notes in their hands felt like evidence to a crime, throwing them as far and quickly away from them as possible.
How could this happen? How could CJ fall for one of their friends like this? This shouldn't be possible!
They continued pacing around in their room in a now hectic tempo, trying to make sense of anything at this point. The same few questions kept on echoing through their head and refused to let them rest for even a moment. That was until just a brief moment of clarity had reached them.
CJ ran over to their phone and hastily dialled Rika's number as if every second counted. Waiting for her to pick up was almost painful. By the time she finally answered the call had they already twirled half of the phone chord around their fingers.
"Sisaru house, this is Rika."
"Rix, I fucked up, I- shit.." CJ groaned. "I'm sorry about yesterday. You were right, and I was too stupid to see it myself."
For a moment, the other end of the line was dead silent. They almost thought Rika had just dropped the phone and left to ignore their shitty apology. "Y'er dad home?"
"No, gonna be home alone in a bit. Wh-"
"Imma be there in ten. You better make me a fuckin' coffee when I'm there though."
*
Since the beginning of the weekend has CJ not seen their father's car again around their house. Even on Monday morning was not a hint left of it. The snow on the driveway was untouched, and in the garage stood only Joane's car. While this meant that for now, CJ wouldn't have to come home to an absolute nightmare of a family house, it still didn't let them feel at ease to return after school. The constant fear of eventually seeing his car parked by the house again, to endure the entire thing all over again was depressing to say the least. That only fed into their already gloomy mood over CJ's latest epiphany.
Aaron and Henry were bickering about something in their favourite tv show again, having to be reminded over and over by Joane that they should finish their breakfast so they wouldn't be late for school. Meanwhile CJ was staring into their empty cereal bowl. Not even a shimmer of energy could be found in their eyes. Their mother had already taken note of it, but she was hoping it would get better throughout the day. And even so, addressing this at the breakfast table in front of their brothers wasn't the right time and place for this type of conversation.
During the car ride talked Joane with Aaron and Henry, giving CJ a bit more time to think in peace about whatever was getting their mood down before class. She eventually parked in front of the high school and briefly interrupted her own conversation. "I'll see you later then. Take care, Jay." CJ nodded slightly and muttered a quiet 'bye' to her and their two brothers before exiting the car and heading into the building.
Rika and Egeith were already waiting for them in the classroom, their welcoming smiles melting as they saw the rough condition their friend had just arrived in. "Shit.. what happened?"
CJ dismissed their question with a tired shrug as they plopped down into their chair and rested their head on the table in front of them. Neither of their friends wanted to ask them anything as they didn't want to further upset them. A second later though did CJ answer one of Rika's unspoken questions without being prompted to, "Yeah, it has to do with him.."
"Did you ask him already?"
"Why should I if I don't have a chance in the first place though.."
Egeith looked back and forth between the two childhood friends now, being absolutely clueless whether they're talking about Darnell or someone else entirely.
"How can you be so sure about that? I mean-"
"Because he is a guy and I'm not a girl. That simple."
Rika raised a brow at CJ as if she couldn't believe they actually just said this to her. "The same applies the other way around, yet you're here whining about him." She wanted to keep going, but unfortunately their teacher came into the classroom that same moment.
For the duration of their first class was CJ still barely present. Everything felt like it was stuck in time, as if this day would never end for them. That feeling stuck with them until the first break announced itself with the ringing bells. After most students had already stormed out into the hallways followed the young boxer the crowd, heading for their next class. On their way however, someone suddenly grabbed their shoulder to stop them.
"Jay!" Darnell chimed with a wide smile. He felt proud of himself to catch them outside of lunch break. And just like that melted CJ's depressed look into a far softer, almost hypnotised gaze. "Ah- hey Nells."
For a moment, CJ thought he wanted to tell them something. But he was quickly looking around the crowded hallway before looking back at them, knowing there wasn't a lot of time left until the next class would begin. "I really missed you last week, and I wish we could catch up now, but-"
"Yeah yeah, I get it," they chuckled a little as their chest began to feel like a radiator, heating up rapidly by the second.
"I'll see you during lunch though, right?"
"Of course! Same spot as always."
Darnell smiled at them and nodded. "Great, I can't wait." Before disappearing back into the crowd pulled he CJ into a quick but still tight hug, leaving them standing completely speechless in the middle of the hallway.
"Got glue under your soles or why are you still here?" Rika teased a little. CJ's face gained a bright red colour as they quickly turned and ran at her, getting a loud laugh out of Egeith as he jogged after the two and towards their next class.
Things were still far from being back to normal, or rather okay. But that wouldn't stop CJ's friends from doing their best looking out for them. Although they still doubted to even have a smidge of a chance with Darnell was it great to have him back after the one week he's been sick for.
CJ could finally and wholeheartedly admit that they had a crush on Darnell. But hell had to freeze before they would even think about making a move on him, that was for sure.

So Dean, Sam and Charlie watched GoT back in season 9 right? Imagine them catching up to Jaime/Cersei, no one saying a word, Dean and Sam intentionally avoiding each other's eyes and Charlie looking at the two of them because even she can feel the tension. Only, none of them know why the atmosphere suddenly got serious :3

Edge of Great (Luke Patterson x Reader)
Tumblr media
A/n: Hey guys so this is my first imagine on tumblr. I know it’s pretty long but my fingers just kept typing.🙃 Definitely let me know if I should make shorter ones or longer ones or even a series! Also let me know if you guys have any requests or plots that I could write and for who! Finally finally let me know if you like it in a first reader POV or if i should try a third person POV! Oh and if I should post them in a book on wattpad or keep the content strictly on tumblr!!!😁 (Ps. I’ll most likely be adding a song to every chapter whether it goes with the chapter or not!) Check out my last post for more information on my writing.
Warnings: None
————
I sat in the studio along with my bandmates tuning my guitar. We were currently waiting on Julie to return from school so we could begin to practice for tonight. Her dad got us a gig playing for a couple of her friends to start a following. Which made a lot of sense when Julie explained it to me. Right after Luke sent me into a frenzie of confusion.
"Hey y/n/n you think you could help me with these lyrics for tonight?" Luke called from the couch. I stood up from my comfortable spot on the chair under the loft and flashed myself onto the spot right next to him.
"Sure Lukey" I said taking his writing journal in my own hands and sitting back to scan over the words.
Y/n- I believe, I believe that we're just one dream
I mumbled hearing Luke start to strum on his six string the melody of the song.
Away from who were mean to be that were standing on the edge of
Y/n, L- Something big something crazy our best days are yet unknown that this moment is ours to own
He joined in.
Y/n- Cause we're standing on the edge of great
L- (On the edge of great)
Y/n- Great
L- (On the edge of great)
Y/n- Great
L- (On the edge of great)
Y/n- Cause we're standing on the edge of
We sang to each other back and forth with smiles plastered on our faces.
Y/n, L- Shout shout. C'mon and let it out, out. C'mon and let it out, out. Don't gotta hide it. Let your colors blind their eyes. Be who you are no compromise. Just shout, shout. C'mon and let it out
We paused running out of lyrics. My mind racing searching for the next line.
Y/n- What doesn't kill you makes you feel alive
I sang softly as he leaned in closer with a smirk plastered on his face.
Y/n, L- Ooh-oh. I believe, I believe that we're just one dream. Away from who we're meant to be. That we're standing on the edge of great
We finished out of breath. My smile grew as Alex and Reggie began to clap.
"That was great"
"Yeah we’re gonna rock Julie's garage tonight" Reggie said making it sound less cool than it actually was.
"Definitely" Luke said standing up.
"Thanks for the help boss" He said sending me a smile.
"Anytime" I grinned before turning around to go take my previous seat to finish tuning my guitar.
"I'm gonna go find Julie and let her know we've got the song ready for tonight thanks to our amazing rhythm guitarist"
"Sounds like a plan" Alex said.
"Don't forget to mention how beautiful I am as well" I teased earning a smirk from Luke.
"I never do baby" He winked at me before disappearing. A small laugh escaped my lips before going back to my guitar.
"So" Alex said catching my attention.
"So?" I repeated looking up at the drummer boy.
"So you and Luke?"
"Me and Luke what?"
"You and Luke are like in love each other"
"We are not. Well I'm not. Can't say the same about pretty boy" I said teasingly.
"Yeah sure you're not. Reggie back me up here. Please tell your best friend that she's totally in love with Luke"
"You're totally in love Luke"
"I am not. Reggie your supposed to have my back"
"And I will. Once you admit you have a thing for Luke" He said smirking at me. I glared at the two boys in front of me who weren't as oblivious as I had thought they were.
"Okay so I have a thing for Luke. So what?"
"So you should tell him"
"Why on earth would I do that?"
"So he can admit he's in love with you too"
"And why would he do that when he's clearly not"
"Seriously? Didn't you see the way he was looking at you when you were singing? It looked like Reggie when he sees pizza"
"Pizza?" Reggie perked up excitedly. "There no pizza" Alex said a frown appearing on the bassist face.
"Just because looks at me a certain way does not mean he loves me"
"Really because last time I checked constantly touching each other means you like each other, constantly flirting means you like each other, and when was the last time you wore one of your own shirts" Alex said pointing at my outfit. I sunk back into my seat. He was right about everything down to one of the many shirts Luke had let me have.
"Come on y/n just admit it after we died something more changed with you two. We all see it. Even Reggie sees it and that's saying something"
"Yeah. So it's not like he's ever gonna say anything. So why should I put myself out there to possibly get rejected and heartbroken by my best friend? I mean how do we even know for sure if he's in love with me. Or even likes me for that matter?"
"We don't. Yet" Alex said smirking.
"Oh that's his thinking face. I haven't seen that since 94" Reggie said backing up slightly.
"I think we're in trouble"
It had been a couple hours after Julie had gotten out of school. Yet her or Luke were nowhere to be found. I groaned walking out of the bathroom in the back of the studio.
"Seriously Alex. This is your great idea"
"No my great idea is to have you and Reggie flirt like there's no tomorrow. This is just small details" He said fixing the fit of the flannel on my body. It was Reggie's lucky flannel that took a lot of convincing to get off his body.
"Okay but why'd I have to change my shirt" I said looking down at my own crop top that I hadn't worn in a very long time.
"Because it was Luke's. We need him to think that you don't need his clothes anymore"
"Why did I let you drag me into this?"
"Because deep down you want him to say something about it don't you?"
"Well yeah but-"
"Hey guys!" A familiar voice popped into the garage.
"Luke" I spoke pushing Alex away from me.
"Hey man what happened to practice?" Alex asked casually.
"Julie had some stuff to do after school so I went along. But she's on her way so we should get a few runs in-" His words slowly came to a halt sending me a strange look.
"Isn't that Reggies lucky flannel?"
"Uh yeah. He let me barrow it. For good luck. Here's your shirt back by the way. I don't think I'll need it anymore" I said trying to hand him back the shirt I was wearing previously.
"You know you don't have to give it back. It's yours" His lips simpered.
"I know but Reggie said if I needed to I could just barrow his"
"Oh" was all Luke before taking the shirt out of my hands.
Suddenly the garage door opened and in walked Julie.
"Hey guys" She smiled.
"Ready for tonight?"
"Definitely"
"Flynn's coming over before to help me get ready. Girl time?" Julie asked looking at me.
"I'll be there" I smiled.
"So are we ready to rehearse?"
"Where's Reggie?"
"He went out said he would be back in a bit"
As if on cue the other ghost popped in with a smile on his face.
"Luke" He said his eyes going wide.
"Your back"
"Yeah I am. Who are the flowers for?" Luke asked eyeing the bouquet of roses in his hand.
"They’re for y/n. You know she deserves the best" Reggie said nervously sticking his hand out for me.
"Thanks Reggie" I smiled lightly.
"She also deserves her favorite flowers. Sunflowers in case you were wondering"
"Luke" I scolded him taking the bouquet.
"I think it's a sweet gesture Reggie. Seriously thank you"
"Your welcome" He smiled pulling me into a light hug.
"I think we should rehearse before it gets any later" Alex suggested trying to ease the now very notable tension in the room.
"Sounds good" Julie said awkwardly stepping past Reggie and Luke who were standing a few feet apart. I looked at Alex who gave me a small nod.
"Uh Reggie can you come here for a sec I need your help" I said pulling him away to my guitar stand. I placed strap around my body waiting for the brunette to turn his attention to me.
"Uh sure. Cutie?" He spoke in a questionable tone before looking down at me.
"You need his help with guitar?" Luke asked clearly confused.
"Well yeah"
"But I always help you with guitar" "He offered earlier if I needed help to come to him"
"Yeah. I did that" Reggie said trying to act tough.
"Whatever" Luke scoffed.
I watched as he swung his guitar around his shoulder aggressively. I glanced at Julie who was sending me a confused look so I quickly shrugged my shoulder not knowing what else to do.
It was mere minutes before we were heading out to perform. The tension in the air was now overpowered by excitement.
"I'm so nervous" I said bouncing my leg up and down anxiously.
Suddenly I felt a hand land on it stopping my movements. I looked up to see Luke smiling down at me.
"Don't be nervous your gonna do amazing out there"
"Thanks" I smiled back.
"Yeah. Your always amazing. Did I mention you look beautiful tonight? Wearing my flannel. My lucky flannel" Reggie said with a pestering smile as he swung an arm around my shoulder.
"We get it. It's your flannel" Luke interrupted immediately removing his hand from my leg. I looked at Alex who was stifling a laugh.
"Uh thanks Reg. You look good too"
"Oh I know. And I'm gonna look better singing up there with you. It'll be like old times. You and me. And a microphone"
"You and me. And a microphone" Luke mimicked him. I almost laughed only to be startled by someone walking in.
"Hey guys are you ready?"
"Ready as we'll ever be" I spoke. Julie simply nodded her head walking out.
I stood up pacing around as I heard Julie begin the opening notes on the piano outside.
"Hey your gonna do great out there" Luke said stopping me from walking anymore.
"Thanks. You are too. You and Julie have great chemistry"
"Well yeah. But I think we have great chemistry too" He said taking my hands in his.
I finally looked into his eyes see him staring into mine in. A small smile forming on my face.
"Guys!" Alex called knocking us out of our trance. I panicked immediately flashing outside with Luke. Landing beside Reggie with my guitar at hand. Luke only a few feet away in his own place.
J- I believe
I believe that we're just one dream
Away from who we're meant to be
That we're standing on the edge of
Y/n- Something big, something crazy
Our best days are yet unknown
That this moment is ours to own
I joined in singing into Reggies microphone beaming with excitement. I scanned the crowd seeing smiles on people faces. This is all we ever wanted.
J- Cause we're standing on the edge of great
All- (On the edge of great)
J- Great
All- (On the edge of great)
J- Great
All- (On the edge of great)
J- 'Cause we're standing on the edge of great
L- We all make mistakes
But they're just stepping stones
To take us where we wanna go
It's never straight, no
Luke sang sending me a wink before continuing to sing with Julie.
L,J- Sometimes we gotta lean
Lean on someone else
To get a little help
I giggled as Reggie leaned on me. Back to back. Both of us playing our guitars to the same beat.
J- Until we find our way
I believe
I believe that we're just one dream
Away from who we're meant to be
That we're standing on the edge of
Y/n- Something big, something crazy
Our best days are yet unknown
That this moment is ours to own
J- Cause we're standing on the edge of great
All- (On the edge of great)
J- Great
All- (On the edge of great)
J- Great
All- (On the edge of great)
J- 'Cause we're standing on the edge of...
J- Shout, shout
C'mon and let it out, out
Don't gotta hide it
Let your colors blind their eyes
Be who you are no compromise
My heart rate picked up. The scene from earlier replaying in my head as Julie sang the next lines. Taking a chance I looked in Luke's direction to see him already looking at me with a grin on his face. I smirked walking over to the piano.
J- And Just shout, shout
C'mon and let it out, out
J, Y/n- What doesn't kill you makes you feel alive
Ooh-oh
J- I believe
Julie sang as Luke and I let off a similar guitar riff making me laugh.
I believe that we're just one dream
Away from who we're meant to be
That we're standing on the edge of great
Making my way over to Luke I let out a giggle as I pulled his beanie down slightly messing up his look. Before making my over back to Reggie. I looked back at the brunette to see him grinning from ear to ear.
All- Something big, something crazy
Our best days are yet unknown
That this moment is ours to own
Cause we're standing on the edge of great
(On the edge of great)
J- On the edge of great
All- (Great, on the edge of great) On the edge
All- (Great, on the edge of great)
J- 'Cause we're standing on the edge of...
L- Running from the past
Y/n- Tripping on the now
J- What is lost can be found
It's obvious
Luke, Julie, and I finished singing towards the audience.
Making eye contact with a few kids before flashing out myself back into the garage where Alex and Reggie were already waiting. Adrenaline coursing through our veins as another presence poofed into the room.
"That was amazing!" Luke shouted excitedly.
"I can't believe we just did that. Did you see how pumped they were?" I asked falling back onto the couch besides Reggie.
"Yeah. They loved us!" "Remind me to thank Julie for playing our CD later"
"Tonight it's her garage tomorrow it's- it's clubs, dances, and worldwide tours" Luke said eagerly. Taking the free spot to my left.
"God I wish we could feel like this all the time" I said leaning into Luke.
"Me too y/n/n" He said placing an arm around me. A sudden fake cough erupting from Alex's lips. I looked over to see him staring at me with a look.
"Oh uh- Reggie you were great out there" I complimented the boy sitting up.
"Thanks. You uh- you looked hot" He tried to sound cool but failed miserably.
"You think?"
"Oh yeah- I mean the sweat on your forehead and like the heat and-"
"What are you going on about?" Luke asked confusion plastering itself on his face.
"I think what he means is y/n is attractive. Right Reggie?" Alex asked.
"No, no don't answer for him. Reggie be straight with me do you like y/n or not?" Luke asked standing up.
"Why does it matter if I do or don't?" Reggie questioned standing up as well.
"Because you out of everyone know that I like her so why are you letting her wear your clothes, buying her flowers, and calling her hot. I thought I made it clear she was off limits" Luke said my mouth widening in shock.
"I'm off limits?" I asked looking at him.
"How many people did you make it clear to that I was off limits?" I asked not really wanting an answer I was expecting.
"A few"
"A few? Micheal Brookes?" I asked remembering a guy I began to talk to at the beginning of our senior year who randomly stopped talking to me one day. I watched as his head dipped in a short nod.
"Jacob Miller?" I continued watching his nod once again.
"Grant Dean?" Nod.
"Nick Harper?" Nod.
"Derek Johnson?" Nod.
"Seriously Luke? Your the reason I never had a boyfriend my senior year. To make it worse I died a virgin. You asshole" I shouted standing up. I was fuming at this point. He had no right. And he still did it. My head whipped towards the garage door heading it creak open.
"Hey guys" Julie and Flynn smiled walking it.
"You guys did great out there" Flynn said happily. Julie immediately noticing the tension in the room and the frown upon my lips.
"Are you okay y/n?"
"I don't know why don't you ask Luke?" I spoke before flashing out.
I landed in the only place I could think of. A single tear escaped my eye as I sat on the marquee of the Orpheum. Our dream. His dream. I stared out onto the lit up street of Sunset Boulevard. If he didn't want me seeing anyone he could've said something. For the longest time I wondered why guys were such assholes. It wasn't them. It was Luke. It was always Luke.
"I know your mad" I heard his voice speak from behind me.
"I think I'm beyond mad Luke. How could you?" I asked standing up and turning towards him.
"I came crying to you all those times wondering why guys didn't want me. And-and you made me think that it was all me when it was really you. Telling them to back off. Why? Why would you do this to me?"
"Because-" He was at a loss for words. Looking like a kicked puppy.
"I-I wanted you" He finally spoke up.
"You what?"
"I wanted you" He spoke more confidently.
"I wanted you to myself. I- I every time you came and told me you were talking to someone new it hurt because I know it should've been me who asked you out. Who got the courage to just tell you that I-" He went silent the anger in me evaporating in a matter of seconds.
"That you what?" I asked quietly.
"That I love you. I know I'm late but I can't hold it in anymore. After seeing you and Reggie today I got jealous just like I used to back in high school. I know this'll probably ruin our friendship but I don't want to lose you so I really need you to say something right now before I go insane not hearing your beautiful voice" He finished off finally looking at me. The look in his eyes was as hurt. And I wanted to be mad. But I couldn't be. Not when he just admitted what I had been wanting to hear for so long.
"Your 25 years late. But I think we have an eternity to make up for that" I said his eyebrows flying up in surprise.
"Really?"
"You really think I wanted to wear my own shirt today Patterson? Alex told me that if I kept wearing your clothes I'd only fall deeper in love you" I spoke a smile reaching both our face.
He quickly made his way towards me. Leaning forward until his lips attached themselves onto mine. I giggled as he lifted me in his arms holding me close. Our lips molding perfectly like they were made for each other.
"This isn't real" He whispered putting me down.
"Your mine. God your mine" He mumbled pressing open mouth kisses down my neck before connecting his lips back to mine.
"It's definitely real Lukey"
"I love it when you call me that" He mumbled into my lips.
"Don't get all soft on me now Patterson" I laughed pulling away.
"I'm sorry for what I did before I really am. For making you upset and I'm gonna spend an eternity making it up to you"
"It's okay Luke. It's in the past now. I just would've preferred if you would've not scared away every guy that tried to talk to me"
"I promise I'll never hurt you like that again" He said holding me close by the waist. As I began to suck on his neck to begin leaving a hickey.
"And I promise you won't be a virgin for much longer" He whispered reattaching our lips again.

Exothermic - chapter twelve
Amalthea vs The Game
Tumblr media
"Thea, my dear niece. Is Harry corrupting your young, innocent mind?"
previous chapter
1,064 words
═ ∘♡༉∘ ═
The dullness of school after Trevor stopped showing up was quite a shock to Amalthea. He no longer texted her every twenty minutes, disrupting her from tedious work and begging for attention.
Which had resulted in her phone being confiscated and held until the end of the day more than once, only to retrieve it once again to see a spam of messages. They all were along the lines of asking if she died, and if she did, to then come back alive because Trevor hadn't yet had the time to call a witch.
It was nearly two weeks since Amalthea last received a text from Trevor. Jackson fell into a bit of a slump, whining to the girl about not having his best friend to mock teachers with. That being said, Jackson King took it upon himself to uphold the responsibility of being the nuisance in Thea's life, stating that it is necessary until Trevvie (as he so happily nicknamed the missing boy) came back to fill his duty.
Amalthea was not happy with her predicament. Trevor Uley better be cured of his illness and get the hell back, or else she was going to snap a neck.
It was Friday afternoon and Jackson, as they pushed through seniors to get to the exit, was pestering Amalthea. The soccer player was moping on about how Trevor wouldn't be there to see him play -and that she should feel really, really bad for him cause it sucks a lot- as Thea focused in on the rock music playing from her right headphone.
"If I say I'll go, will you leave me the fuck alone?" She finally snapped, clenching her teeth together. Widening his gray eyes, Jackson jumped up and down, "Oh my god, yes! Can't believe you cracked-- only took two weeks." He pretended to wipe sweat off his forehead, sighing in relief. Amalthea ignored him, giving no indication that she was listening to a single word he spoke.
After arriving home -not without the silent, weird car ride, of course!- Amalthea tossed her body onto the comfortable cushions of the couch. Her eyes were closed in comfort when she heard chortles of laughter, disrupting the small moment of bliss. A manly voice, that she had grown accustomed to, called for attention.
"Rough day there, bud?" Charlie asked with humor laced in his voice.
"Oh, absolutely. Uley was a no show again-- it's getting a bit annoying having to deal with his child alone. Dumb-dumb annoyed his way into making me say I'd go to his game, which is going to be boring by the way, and Uley is gonna pay for this one. He owes me big time." Amalthea droned on, not noticing the other man sitting at the kitchen table listening to her vent.
"Woah. You, Amalthea Rue Swan, are going to an actual high school event? Unheard of. Revolutionary!" Charlie gasped, hand on his heart.
Thea waved an arm around her head. "I know! A tragedy. Mortifying. Gonna hate every second of it. Honestly wish I wasn't an awesome, amazing, beautiful, hilarious, enigmatic person. Maybe then people wouldn't beg me to do such mundane things, like watching dudes kick a damn ball around a field."
"Gross. Good luck though. Gonna need it with that attitude!" Charlie pointed at her, "How're you getting there? Someone gonna pick you up, or what? I'd take you, but Harry and I are going back to fish again. We're gonna have a fish fry soon and you need fish to do that." He smirked, finally bringing her attention to the man next to him.
Amalthea snapped her head up, eyes meeting those of Harry Clearwater's, whose eyes were riddled with mirth as he looked at the girl on the couch.
Finally realizing that her uncle was not the only person in the room, Thea smiled brightly at the man. "Charlie's fishing friend! How're you doing? Catch any fish without Charlie? Man probably wards them off with his corny ass jokes."
"Language!" Charlie called from the fridge, not bothering to defend his jokes.
Harry hid his laughter and winked at the teen, who still laid on the couch with her head now resting on the ledge. Wanting to gossip about her uncle, Amalthea maneuvered herself into a sitting position, perched on the edge of the seat. "So, what's Uncle Charlie like with friends? Are his jokes still dumb? Wait- does he curse a lot? Tell me, tell me, tell me." Thea egged him on, watching as he walked over and took a seat aside her.
The man whispered back, just as quietly. "Actually quite the sailor mouth, that one's got. I swear, I'm not lying!" He swore, once the girl began to look at him in disbelief.
Charlie walked in on the elder man and his teenage niece whispering to one another, laughter sounding from the both of them. After overhearing Harry tell the girl a story about how Charlie once drank a bit too much as they were watching a baseball game and fell face first into the mashed potatoes, the uncle felt the need to interrupt.
"Thea, my dear niece. Is Harry corrupting your young, innocent mind?" Charlie questioned, breaking the two apart by placing his hand on Thea's head and pushing her away.
Amalthea gasped, "Uncle Charlie! How dare you assume such dastardly things! We were just talking about what out favorite flavor of cake was! Tut-tut! Always assuming the worse, you are." The girl shook her head in shame, knocking Harry on the elbow so he did the same.
The man next to the girl nodded in agreement, adding a "I would never!" to back his argument.
After listening (and ignoring) Charlie's lecture about the animals in the woods and how to steer clear from them, Thea nudged her way out of the front door, walking back to the school she escaped from some hours ago. Asking Bella for a ride was definitely not an option. She just barely avoided that mess when she told Charlie that she did not want to bother her cousin.
'Uley owes me mega. There's no way in hell he gets to skip and stay home, and I have to freeze my ass off through a game!' Thea thought, tugging her sleeves further down.
Ignoring the rustling of leaves and trees, Amalthea trudged her way to the bleachers.

"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. "
Charlie x Reader Fic
a/n: i used a writing prompt here because there were some prompts i found on my phone. they're from creative-writing-prompts on tumblr (?) omg enjoy 💕
Tumblr media
Word on the street is all about this Charlie Dalton. All the girls in your school can't seem to shut up about him, this guy from Wellton who pulled an infamous stunt in front of everybody.
"Have you heard about what happened at Wellton?"
"God, that Charlie has guts."
"He's single right?"
All this gossip annoyed you. Either they applaud his not-so-daring feat, or they suddenly fancy him. Apparently, this boy has become popular here and you never understood why he would do something so stupid.
You're a real stickler for the rules, future mapped out and planned for, and you always had this thing where everything should be in order. Charles Dalton, that jerk, just disrupted the peace and order you have been accustomed to by turning these girls into boy crazy and lovestruck little girls. His name made your blood boil and it made you lose focus. They never seem to get enough of him, and that's probably because there aren't really a lot of options in boarding school.
Wherever you went, his name would always pop up. Whoever you talked to would ask if you knew. You would roll your eyes and tell them they're wasting time on someone who isn't even worth it. This boy was getting into your nerves, and (rumor has it) another girl's knickers.
There came a time you just couldn't take it anymore. Even your best friend was talking about him with a mix of amusement and disappointment. She thought this boy had potential but wasted it on a foolish prank. Both of you shared the same sentiments, although your friend was obviously intrigued.
You had a lot of homework to do, and with everything that was going on, you decided you didn't have time for this. You sigh loudly and throw a pillow at your friend, exasperated. "Hey!" she said as the pillow hit her face. "What was that for?"
You turned to her, annoyed and stressed from all the homework and drama. Your roommate raises an eyebrow, waiting for an answer. "I'm getting tired of this— this boy!" you tell her and she stifles a laugh.
It wasn't funny, and then she replied, "Who knew that the great y/n would lose focus over a boy?" You ignored her and went back to your homework. There was still so much to do with calculus, and you haven't checked on your science project yet. Your French essay is due tomorrow and it isn't near perfect. You didn't let the idea of Charlie Dalton get to you.
Days went by and the chatter started to lessen. You smiled to yourself, everything was slowly going back to normal. Your focus was back, and nothing else seemed to interrupt it. Right now, everything is perfect for you. Back on the right track to be one of the country's most esteemed lawyers.
Everything was almost back to normal, you hardly even thought about him, and no one
had any more stories to tell about the infamous little pick who caught St. Agnes' by storm. One fateful day, he was once again the talk of the town. Rumour has it, he went out with one of the girls from her class. People kept on talking, asking this girl to tell him about Charlie. All of them would pile around her, and ask if he was what they dreamed he would be like.
You thought it was all rubbish. Charles Dalton? You bet he got under her skirt. Your classmate's story about him being the perfect gentleman was too good to be true. There's no such thing as a gentleman, and you believed Charlie was far from that. People see what they want to see, and you thought this girl just let heard what he wanted her to hear. Quite stupid, you thought.
One day as you were walking around the courtyard, book in hand, you caught sight of him. The infamous Charlie Dalton, in the flesh. You couldn't deny he was handsome. There was an air of arrogance around him, and a hint of brilliance to which you were so. curious about. He was with a different girl, and he gave a smirk you knew all too well that he was up to no good. He dropped her off at the dorms, and you shook your head in disappointment. You saw this coming, but in the back of your mind you always hoped it wasn't true.
He passed by you, and smiled. His brown hair all messed up, with eyes that always twinkled with mischief and chaos. "Hi," he said to you. You gripped your book tighter and ignored him, walking away. Charlie always liked girls who played hard to get. He found the chase to be rewarding. He turned around, "I didn't catch your name."
You muttered something, and continued to walk towards the dorms. There were footsteps following you, and you tried your best to ignore him as he tried to get your attention. "Did you just say your name? I didn't get it the first time." He caught up to you and went ahead. There he was, facing you: Charlie Dalton of Wellton Academy.
You decided to be blunt and said, "I didn't, and no, I'm not telling you." You sighed, "I was asking you to leave me alone." He wasn't taken aback by this comment, after all, it was part of the chase, and Charlie enjoyed every second of it.
"If you say so," he said sarcastically. He is so infuriating, you thought. You looked him in the eyes and you were inwardly fazed by how beautiful he really was up close. You always hid your emotions well, and you certainly didn't want to break that wall in front of this jerk.
"Did I stutter?" you replied coldly. You took a deep breath and once again told him to leave you alone. He chuckled and told you, mocking defeat, "Whatever you say, sweetheart." He waved at you and went on his way. Charlie was amazed, and decided he was gonna try harder than usual. That meant he absolutely had to, because most of the time they just came onto him.
You thought about this encounter for a considerable amount of time, and sometimes wondered if you were to see him again. You were working on your english homework until someone on the phone asked for you. You hate being interrupted, and it annoyed you to drop whatever you've been doing for something so irrelevant. Begrudgingly, you grab the phone and put it to your ear, rolling your eyes. "Hello?"
"Hello to you too, y/n," the sound of his voice made you mad. You tried to keep it together, your friends were watching. You couldn't lose control now, it would guarantee him victory. You whispered, "You're not supposed to call."
"Well sweetheart I did, now y/n, tell me, what are you doing Saturday night?" You ignored the question and said, "How did you get my name you jerk?" You heard people laughing from the other line, who were teasing Charlie. "I asked for a pretty girl and they led me to you," he slurred. For a moment, you felt flattered, but mostly embarrassed. That was officially the worst line you have ever heard.
"Shut up. Now if you don't have anything important to say, I'm hanging up now." You put down the phone and went back to your schoolwork. You can't afford to have any more distractions, especially a Dalton-shaped distraction.
Almost every night, he would call, and like always you would give the phone back, telling everyone you absolutely had no time for this. This boy was persistent. You tried your best not to lose your temper in front of your friends and classmates. That rarely happened. You're y/n, and he isn't your Waterloo.
The day you've been waiting for came. Charlie stopped calling. You thought he got bored and latched himself onto another pretty thing. You were a bit hurt, to know he was exactly what you thought he was but it worked best that way, and you were starting to feel normal again. He wasn't the talk of the town anymore, and that alone gave you the motivation to do everything on your to-do list.
You went out to the courtyard for a stroll and brought your favorite book along. Your eyes widened when you saw him. Messy brown hair with everything undone. There he was again, and he looked like he was waiting. You continued to walk towards your favorite spot in the courtyard, made yourselg comfortable and started to read. "Hey y/n," Charlie said. At that moment, you wanted your soul to leave your body. You closed your book and looked up, "To what do I owe this unwanted encounter?" There was sarcasm dripping in your voice and Charlie raised an eyebrow in amusement. He ignored your comment and asked, "What are you doing tomorrow night?"
You didn't answer. He sat down next to you and looked at what you were reading. "Shakespeare, huh? You've got good taste," he commented. You smiled a little, and felt better that this boy, even for a moment, stopped pestering you. You were a bit glad you at least had something in common, and relieved he wasn't just a prick. He was a brilliant prick who knew his stuff, and you were somehow attracted by this.
You just sat there in silence for the whole afternoon. You were immersed in your book, and all Charlie did was stare at you. The silence was endearing, and you stopped only to find him sleeping. You swore he became more attractive. This boy is beautiful, and when it hit you, you started to think about everything you worked for only to be disrupted by him. You pat his arm gently, trying to wake him up. It was getting late and you had to catch up on your study group tonight.
He blinked a few times and stood up, offering you his hand. You took it and he smiled, looking away. He earned it, you thought. "My friend Neil's performing tomorrow at Henley Hall, and since you love Shakespeare so much, bet you'd try to take a look at it," he said finally.
Shakespeare was your favorite poet, and it's been so long since you've watched a Shakespearean play. It was a hard offer to consider. If you accepted, you would be going with him, and that would make it seem like a date. "I guess you can call it a date," he drawled.
You pondered over it as he walked you back to the dorms. Annoying as he was, he knew how to get a girl's attention, and you were no exception. You didn't answer him, and told him how you were running late instead. You felt his hand on your shoulder, turned you around, and once again there you were: face to face with Charlie Dalton. This time, you couldn't help but feel flustered, and it was evident. He smirked a little bit, and that alone shifted your mood. One moment he was charming, the next one a jerk. You moved away and muttered a curse under your breath. "Come on, I saw that, y/n," he pointed out. "Admit it, you like me."
Once again he was this conceited bastard. You didn't know which was more annoying: his behavior or the fact you were attracted to this boy. You pursed your lips and tried not to lose your temper. Charlie just stood there, waiting.
"Silence means yes, you know," he smiled. You rolled your eyes, and started to lose the cool façade you had going on. "You know what, Dalton? Do whatever you want."
"You're insufferable, and I can't believe I spent an afternoon with you! You're a jerk, and you're too conceited for your own good," you said with so much frustration. "I'm not someone you just plan to fool around with, and I'm sure there's another girl waiting for you to sweep her off her feet. And just so it's clear, I'm not that girl, and I don't want to be that girl." Charlie just stood there, listening.
"You know it's a shame. You've wasted so much time and energy on me, and it's endearing and flattering, and I'll admit you're quite attractive, but you're so goddamn infuriating! And guess what? I could kiss you right now." You ran your hands through your hair, frustration and annoyance rushing through you. His eyes widened as he heard the last thing you said. You realized it was too late, and it's undeniable. Charlie Dalton was so damn attractive and you can't believe it worked on you.
He put his hands in his pockets, and smiled at his feet. You were a blushing mess, and his smile wasn't helping at all. He pulled you in and finally replied, "You're very welcome to do it."
