Mm i left bandom space a long long time ago. I mean I'm not that old but ten years ago is still pretty long. And frankly if i overstep lemme know.
Honestly at this point i shouldnt be surprised so many people are actually still inherently racist towards Ray, but also i think, i should be. Because i genuinely expected better from mcr bandom, but again, left bandom spaces a decade ago...
It's pretty sad? Like. I'll admit, I didn't realize Ray was actually a man of colour when i was younger. I think i realized right around the time i left at 15 or so. Which also really goes to show that racism towards him and making him seem as white as possible which definitely i think was a thing. Like in comparison, I knew pete wentz was mixed long before i figured out Ray was a poc. It says a lot about the space at the time and i had honestly thought it'd be better now.
I've loved mcr for years, but i havent been IN love with them for a while. It happens, relationships and feeling wax and wane. But this tour, the excitement and love recently ignited in not just Gerard with all their gender fuckery, but the whole band, has brought a love and joy back into my life for music that hit me in the heart as a preteen and teenager.
And none of that would be possible without Ray Toro putting his all into the feelings and conveying of in his music. Mikey made the band, but ray MAKES the band. He is absolutely fucking integral and it is disgusting & disheartening to see him treated such a way. What the fuck even, hearing that streamers are zooming in on frank during Rays solos?? Like do the fuck better? I'm honestly disappointed as fuck in that shit. Like I know this whole thing is a little disjointed stream of consciousness type post but really. White people do better challenge! Its literally SO fucking easy. The real camera guys are RIGHT THERE showing what to fucking do!
You can love the others as much as you want but jesus fuck give Ray the same fucking courtesy. Stop ignoring your racism, start recognizing the issues that plague you from being white and growing up in white privilege. I sure as fuck still have plenty of shit to work on but at least i can say i can do the bare fucking MINIMUM of giving Ray Toro the respect and attention he absolutely fucking deserves.
Like I do hope this is understood I am not trying to speak over anyone but simply say from one white to another: you need to do better. If that's how you treat a member of supposedly one of your fav bands, i genuinely fear for the poc you encounter in your life. The harm you cause by staying blind may be incremental but it builds up until it's a mountain. Do fucking better.
#not the picturesque emo#fans#its 1 am so this is not. the modt coherent thing but i hope it gets the point across as someone who has been outside of bandom space#i mever realized how big an issue it was but honestly i should have known#im not going point at myself as a pure example of what to do because honestly ive loved mcr from a distance for a while#i have always loved them all but literally its ridiculous coming back ten years later#and finding out that yeah no. rays apparently or whatever the fuck#like uh what. emo is a style#its a sounds a love language a voice for people an expression#sure there are certain clothes or jewelry or makeup that can play into it but NONE of that actually means shit#because it can be turned corpo and ripped up and spat back all sanatized. ray is emo. ray is a man of colour. he's a rock god on the guitar#NONE of that is mutally fucking exclusive! ray toro is just as important as anyone else in the band#ray toro deserves SO much respect and he does NOT deserve to have people claim they are of mcr then treat him like that#you are not an mcr fan you are a pretentious racist asshole who needs to check ther privileges at the fucking gate thank you#fox squawks#im tired and angry now and im sorry to all the poc in the fandom who have to deal w this on a constant basis you all deserve a lot better#im sure yall feel way worse than i do and i genuinely hope people can realize the shit theyve been doing.#i am always happy to go toe to toe w other dumbass white ppl and call them out on their bs#i dont see it because i curate my dash to the point drama is usually a mild breeze at best but i am more than willing to#weaponize my whiteness to force other white ppl to think. if you gotta point me at em do it idc. like a lil attack chihuahua or something.#idk#im lagging now but my fingers dont want to stop typing bc i am nervous abt posting this but yknow. whatever if i fuck up i learn & move on!#we Do Not succumb to white guilt we gracefully say im sorry for that thank you for pointing it out even though you didnt have to i know its#exhausting to do constantly i will keep that in mind and then we do! and we modify our behavior! and we DO. BETTER

unfortunately i'm doing worldbuilding around early modern magical government in britain which means i'm going to come up with an excuse to jam english lutenist and composer john dowland (ca. 1563-1626) into this and you all are just going to have to deal with it

How Can You Enhance Your Beauty?
What can you do to acentuate you features and which style/aesthetic suits you best? Lets take a look!
Please pick a card; (1-4, left to right)
Tumblr media
Pile One(Ace of Spades)
Cards; The Empress, The world, King of Cups, Ace of Pentacles.
Pile one you have that supple, vivacious feminine beauty. Think of ancient portrayals of feminine goddesses. The way women were portrayed in renaissance paintings. Fuller figured, softer around the edges. You may be a romantic in terms of kibbe body types. You may have a wide set body and thicker bones. You could be tall, and may appear larger than you actually are. That is to say, because of the rouded nature of your appearence people may expect you to be heavier than you are or weaker/lacking muscle. A good example is Marylin monroe who was actually quite petite and was said to diet often despite her voluptuous appearence. You could have big eyes and a vacant look about you, a natural poise and grace. Despite this overt feminity, you could have androginous features. That is to say, you may have a larger nose than others, a wider jaw, slighty bigger feet, some 'traditionally masculine features' bleed into your appearence. But these just add to your beauty in a subtle way. You have a welcoming, receptive energy at first glance, think of a cancer rising. You may have had issues with people underestimating you or looking down on you because of this initial soft and welcoming appearence. People may have even sexualised you in the past, placing strange expectations on you and im also hearing that some of them outright started telling you about their sexual fantasies involving your body? Pile one, you look best when you look abundant. When you look like you are well taken care of and happy with your life, determined. When you are at a place in your life where you feel fulfilled and balanced, there is a natural glow that comes over you and enhances your beauty. Jewelry also enhances your beauty, specifically jewelry that looks expensive and tasteful. You may look really good in business casual style outfits. When you combine feminine and masculine elements in your look, it really complements your features . You look really good when you give your soft features an 'edge' this can be with makeup, fashion, whatever way you want. It's good to let some of your personality shine through, to communicate that you look soft but have a backbone. You may favour more structured, masculine looks but have had poor experiences with styling these because they may not have fit the way you wanted/imagined them on your body. Find a way to work around that, incorporate things like shoulder pads, strategically loose clothing, boots etc. There're some pictures of jennifer lawrence walking dogs that went semi-viral, her outift in those pictures would suit you well. That kind of quiet luxury fashion look.
Pile Two(Ace of Hearts)
Cards; Queen of cups reversed, 3 of swords reversed, King of swords reversed, The Fool.
Pile 2 you have a melancholy sort of beauty. There is something haunting and sad about you. When people look at you, there is a depth that they can feel. Your emotions, your sadness, you wear them on your face. This is not to say that you are sad all the time, its just that it's easy for people to attach those qualities to you. People wonder what you could be thinking about when they look at you, how your life may be going and who your friends are. Sad girl aesthetic, you may like to wear muted colours, grunge/emo fashion. You could have saturnian features; strong bone structure, deep set eyes/an intense gaze. Prominent eyes. I'm seeing that some of you have undereye circles and forehead lines/crinkles. Freckles as well. Whatever you do, it seems picturesque; perfectly imperfect. If someone were to capture you in the moment, the picture would come out with a raw, dark academia feel. You have a certain vibe that transcends what you wear/look like. You can enhance your beauty by trying something new. A lot of you who chose this pile have a comfort zone that is enforced solely through force of habit. Don't be afraid to try things that pique your interest even if it may seem strange to the people around you. Some of you want to completely change your aesthetic but are worried that you will regret it and have to buy a whole new wardrobe/makeup collection etc afterwards. It seems that a lot of looks, aesthetics appeal to you but you're not sure which to focus on. Some of you used to have a more sexy/mature vibe but feel the need to cover up/dress more conservativly recently. You'd do well to slowly incorporate the new style and grow comfortable in it day to day. For others, you're perfectly fine the way you are but are feeling stagnant. Social media trends hold quite the sway on you and you are worried about how people perceive you because you don't have the newest clothes/jewelry/shoes and dress similarly each day. You may also like to thrift your clothes and have some well loved favourites that you wear constantly. It seems there's really no issue, if you feel the want to change, try it to see if the satisfaction is as great as you would have thought. Otherwise, its not really worth the hassle. It seems that you also need to change your perspective/the content you consume. Content that aligns with your interests and natural inclinations will help you feel more secure in your habits and the way you choose to present yourself. Some of you could be thinking about undegoing surgery and making a more permanent and drastic change to your features. You are being advised to think long and hard as to why you wish to do that, and if you will really be satisfied with the results. Beauty standards change, you may find that your 'flaw' will be the next beauty trend or that you never really hated the a way a certain feature looked after all.
Pile Three(Ace of Diamonds)
Cards; The Magician. Nine of wands reversed, Ace of pentacles, Three of pentacles.
Pile 3, you have the ability to present yourself however you desire. You have a very versatile look and many makeup and fashion styles suit you. Some of you are aware of this and take advantage of the fact. But others aren't and like to stay within a single fashion/makeup style. Either way it looks good on you and you are often complimented for your looks. You are quite creative too, and customise your clothes/hair makeup to fit your personality. Something about your hair stands out. It seems that your personality may come as a surprise to people who perceive only your looks as a first impression. You could also be quite spiritual/witchy and use glamours and charms to exert a specific appeal depending on your goal. You can enhance your beauty by going for an understated look. I'm seeing that you haven't really tried simplistic makeup before, or you don't wear it often. Consulting an external influence could also help you enhance your looks. Such as colour analysis, analysing your features(like the kibbe body types), or even asking a friend what they think you should do. I'm seeing that you are generally happy with where you are in terms of looks/beauty and could just be looking to spice things up/suggestions because you are an open minded and optimistic sort of person. A message for you is also to utilise beauty sevices like spas, make up studios, stylists etc. You are good at styling yourself but other factors in your life may be occupying your time/energy and taking care of yourself may start to feel like a burden. Take the opportunity to treat yourself and relax, you deserve it!
Pile Four(Ace of Flowers)
Cards; 7 of swords, Knight of cups,4 of swords reversed, 3 of swords.
Pile 4 you have a duaity about you. I'm seeing that you dress according to how you feel. You have moments where you don't want to talk to anyone and would rather stay at home. During those moments you wear athleisure, comfortable clothes and put little effort into your appearence. But when you feel more confident and extroverted you put on bold and colourful clothes to match your bright and energetic personality at the time. You could be tall/look tall, and have a preference for baggy silhouttes. Something about your lips is prominent. You could have long limbs and be slender, regardless of your weight/fitness. You are someone who's talkative, or very expressive. You have a lot of opinions, even though you may keep them to yourself. You're quite involved in your own inner world and even when you are not talking to anyone, your face is very expressive in reaction to your thoughts. You may be cheeky as well, and like to have something going on that nobody knows about. Your personality is really shining through here, despite it being a beauty reading lol. That's your appeal, you're a whirlwind and people can't help but notice you. Your looks just add to your character. You can enhace your beauty by increasing your activity level. Becoming fit, going to the gym or participating in an active hobby. It'll suit you well to have something that occupies your mind as well as your body. Also, to try a more somber look in regard to fashion and makeup, like a dark feminine siren type of makeup style/clothing. It seems that there is also something that you have been struggling to accept about yourself, this weighs on you and is cauising visible tiredness/strain. For some of you, it is a body part that you are insecure about, for others its a tendency to overthink and neglect yourself in the process. Learning to accept that part of yourself and developing healthy coping mechanisms to distract you in your times of mental strain will have you feeling and looking more confident.
******

d. do you want to tell us about the history of panic at the disco. i feel like you want to do that.
YES I DO (small unreality cw for a few of the jokes i make in this)
so back in like 2005. this emo boy from suburban nevada named ryan ross and his childhood friend slash the only drummer he knew (spencer smith) decided to start a band together called pet salamander. they also got this other guy named brent wilson to play keyboard but brent is a bitch and they kicked him out after the first album so this is the first and last time you will hear me mention him. ryan was singing, playing guitar, and writing music, which was a lot of work for a depressed teenager in his first band ever, so they ended up trying to find someone else to either play guitar or sing, and end up putting out an ad in some newspaper or something. up turns this kid named brendon urie! he can do both. they end up just having him sing though, because ryan still wants to play guitar. it was also some time around this that they realized pet salamander was a stupid ass band name, so they changed it to panic! at the disco. and thus the most band of all time was born.
ryan, pretty much by himself, writes an album called a fever you can't sweat out, which takes heavy inspiration from chuck palahnuik (im totally spelling his name wrong but idc), moulin rouge, and ryan's own childhood living just outside las vegas. it toes the line between pop punk and cabaret goth, or more accurately pirouettes along the tightrope between them. it is a picturesque score of scandals, sins (not tragedies), classic literature, dark circus couture, and a troubled childhood. it still genuinely astounds me that this album was made by a bunch of teenagers. it is an absolute fucking masterpiece. panic! records a few demos, and then gets the bright idea that "hey, ryan's a huge fan of fall out boy, right? that pop punk band from chicago that's really popular right now? like, he's super obsessed with pete wentz's writing. and pete is really active on social media. what if we shot him a few demos?"
and what does peter lewis kingston wentz the motherfucking third, known lacker of common sense, do?
he makes an entire fucking record label just to sign panic!.
ma'am what.
pete decides to start decaydance records, a sublabel of fueled by ramen, and signs a bunch of his friends' bands, along with these random kids from nevada, because he thinks they have potential or whatever. panic! fully records afycso, and releases it on september 27th, 2005. it becomes a smash hit near immediately, and i write sins not tragedies remains to this day a staple of 2000's emo hits. and what, logically, do they do after this? well, first, they go on the nothing rhymes with circus tour, which i would have absolutely killed to get tickets to had i been, like, alive at the time. but after that they, of course, get this guy named jon walker to join the band as a bassist, take the exclamation point out of their name and retreat into the mountains to hotbox a cabin and write a classic rock album. of course. perfectly logical next move. ...look, they swore to shake it up and we swore to listen. this is on us.
some time in mid to late 2006, panic emerges from the mountains with an album called cricket and clover. after recording demos for pretty much the whole album, they realize, oh, we totally cannot release this. so they rework it into an album called pretty. odd., which is an absolute masterpiece. i don't understand why people don't like it. it's so fucking good. if pretty. odd. has 10000 fans i am one of them if pretty. odd. has 10 fans i am one of them if pretty. odd. has 1 fan it is me if pretty. odd. has no fans i am dead. i don't have as much eloquent stuff to say about p.o. as i do with afycso. i just really like it.
[bad wilbur soot impression] it was at this point that brendon decided to become a problem.
so ryan was struggling with a lot of mental health issues right? you would expect your bandmates, especially the one you trusted to sing the lyrics you expressed and processed a lot of those mental health issues with, to not make fun of you for that, right? you would think? brendon did not think. ever. that man has not had a thought in his life and i mean that as an insult. things get so bad eventually that panic splits in half, with ryan and jon splitting off to form a band called the young veins that released one album in 2010 and then broke up, and spencer and brendon being left with the record deal but being explicitly told by ryan to not use the name panic at the disco. which, technically, they didn't. they went back to panic! at the disco. but still. dick move, man.
panic! is still touring pretty. odd. at this point (late 2009), so they need some touring musicians, because they no longer have a bassist or a guitarist. so they hire. i believe ian crawford? but don't quote me on that. as a guitarist, and, more importantly, dallon weekes as a bassist. dallon becomes a full member of the band soon after, because they flat out don't have a bassist anymore, nor a songwriter, but dallon just so happens to have written music for a (very good) band called the brobecks since before panic! at the disco was even a twinkle in poor ryan's eye. justice for ryan ross. but dallon writes an album called vices & virtues, featuring a couple of songs (mostly bonus tracks) from our good friend pwentz, a song brendon wrote about his wife (the worst song on the album honestly), and like half a song left over that ryan wrote when he was still in panic!. which makes vices & virtues the only panic! album that has had every official panic! songwriter on it. four of them. what is wrong with this band. v&v is a fucking amazing album though. i love it so much.
after that, dallon gets to work on panic!'s fourth album, too weird to live, too rare to die!. his original draft is a fucking masterpiece, but unfortunately most of it never sees the light of day (as in, basically nothing minus all the boys, a demo of far too young to die, and the original lyrics to vegas lights) because brendon comes in and ruins the whole thing and turns it into a marketable alt pop album. as he does. justice for dallon weekes. justice for anyone who has ever interacted with brendon ever actually. twtltrtd is still an amazing album, don't get me wrong. just not as good as it would have been without brendon's meddling. i may be a little bitter.
dallon, inevitably, leaves the band, because not only has brendon been fucking up his writing, he's been harassing him, harassing his wife, and on top of it all, paying him so little he had to get a second job to support his family. spencer also leaves, for unclear reasons. so brendon's got three albums left on a record deal for a band that no longer exists. what does he decide to do? pretend the band still exists and is more than just him, of course. this band and its associates have a history of logical decision making and everything they have ever done was a good idea. of course. he releases an album called death of a bachelor in 2016, which was actually pretty good. you will come to see this is a fluke.
two years later, in 2018, brendon! at the disco releases their sixth album, pray for the wicked, which had like four good songs on it total. however, something much more important happened that year. see, something had been happening in the shadows of salt lake city. someone had been plotting. playing shows. a band that didn't exist had been popping up around, with a disturbingly long name. were they here from the past? were they, perhaps, back from the future? we'll never know. all we know is that the band consisted of dallon weekes, a man* who definitely had no connection to panic! at the disco, and ryan seaman, a man who definitely had no connection to falling in reverse. both of whom had dubious connections to the brobecks. and in 2018, they released their first single, a song called modern day cain.
THATS RIGHT THIS POST IS ABOUT I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME NOW BBY
iDKHOW ended up also releasing their first EP in 2018, called 1981 extended play. it is an absolute masterpiece. i did not care that it was 6 songs, i listened to those 6 songs on loop for months on end. they did not release a full album until 2020. so clearly those months turned into years at some point. i lost track. their first album, called RAZZMATAZZ, came out in october of 2020, after making everyone wait way too fucking long for a full album. you may recognize that album name. that is because it's my name. i am way too obsessed with this band. they haven't been around for very long, so they don't have much history for me to infodump yet, but i am very proud to say i was one of their first fans, and i'll be a fan until the day i die.
nowadays, jon's still releasing solo music (also we are tiktok mutuals), ryan is a hermit, dallon was never in panic! at the disco at all why am i mentioning him, and brendon released an album called viva las vengeance that bombed so hard he announced the formal disbandment of panic! at the disco last month. the evil is defeated. thanks for coming to the circus, everyone. you can go home now.

1 | prologue (angels like you)
Tumblr media
Summary: Looking forward to this moment for years, Wanda Maximoff had many feelings and anticipations regarding her transition to university: nervous, yet excited. Despite spending half of her adolescence dreaming about her time at university, she truly had no idea how it would go; however, never in her many dreams would she encounter somebody like Natasha Romanoff, her roommate, for the next year.
Chapter Warnings: mentions of war, implied past depression/passive suic!dal thoughts

...
Everyone seems to describe university as a fresh start for themselves. It was a place and time in their lives in which what had occurred prior to their orientation as a 'college student' did not matter anymore: no one knew the embarrassing details from the "second-grade incident"; no one knew about the fact you were an orphan by the age of twelve, a few days after you had celebrated your birthday; no one knew. Something about that fact was just so—
Freeing.
This year is going to be different, Wanda told herself internally. I'm going to be different. Better.
She just prayed to any gods there were that everyone was right; she hoped they were telling her the truth.
Wanda couldn't help but be lost in thought as she continued to drive through the various small towns. She gawked at the quaint houses and picturesque storefronts that lined the streets. In some ways, it all reminded her of home — Sokovia. Her parents. Her twin brother, Pietro.
She closed her eyes harshly, attempting to forcefully prevent the impending memories from fronting in her mind. It's not that Wanda did not want to think about her family and — albeit the taintedness that comes from their fateful end — their joyful memories: sitcoms and sibling mischief. She just simply couldn't. She could not handle thinking about them before reverting back to her twelve-year-old self and experiencing her world collapsing repeatedly.
Wanda used to be joyful. She used to wake up each day with a smile already set on her face. She used to think the only bad that would happen on a given day was her father arriving later than he had originally promised. That is not to say that Wanda did not experience any hardship compared to other girls her age. Sokovia was known for its violent conflicts; each night, glowing lights polluted the young girl's bedroom. When she was young, Wanda believed the lights were merely stars in the sky. They were not.
Bombs. Gunfire. War.
None of it mattered to her, though. To Wanda, life was tough — such a statement was indisputable. It was bearable — fruitful, even — because her family was there with her throughout it all. To put it simply, it was home.
Her home — her family — was gone now. When the second bombshell struck the base of her family's apartment building six years ago, it all collapsed. For two days, she had to lay next to the bodies of her mother, father, and twin brother — her other half. For two days, she wished she would soon join them in whatever place beyond this life that they were sent to. For two days, the guilt dissolved her — it left her uncomfortably bare. She felt as if she was on display for everyone else to see, like an abandoned animal captured and stored in a zoo for everyone else's pleasure. This sentiment, however, did not dissolve after her move to the United States; in fact, it exacerbated it. The other kids found the "foreign, emo girl" just so amusing.
No one could look at her like that if they did not know her past; at least, that's what Wanda prefers to tell herself. That is why when she had the opportunity — to move across the country to a place in which not a single person knew anything about her — Wanda knew she had to take advantage of it. It was probably one of the only things in the past few years that gave her an ounce of excitement, of anticipation.
She did not want to be Wanda Maximoff anymore: sad, freaky orphan.
All she wanted to be was Wanda Maximoff, a normal teenage girl.
Would she ever have that?

Thoughts while watching the new miraculous movie cuz I’m three minutes in and can already TELL I’m gonna be losing my mind:
Spoilers under cut obv
Daddy no :( you can’t take me to school tomorrow with fresh baked goods for my whole class :( that’s so embarrassing :( what would they THINK ?!?!
Marinette: I want a better life (beautiful, picturesque Paris, apartment above your parents bakery, heading to a fancy school) cause I’m so clumsy???
Me: GIRLY ILL SWAP WITH YOU???
God I saw stuff about the singing voice and it’s so tonally and stylistically different from Christina Vee’s VAing that I can’t take it seriously. The singer isn’t necessarily bad, but it’s so clearly a different person.
Aside from the im loving the animation so far. It’s so cool seeing these character I’ve known since like 2017 in a new, more polished style.
Goddamnit we’re still making popular girl no carbs jokes???
DAMN ALYA THATS COLD (oh sorry, do I need to take a number behind the line of friends coming to your rescue?) LIKE YOUVE HAD ONE LINE SO FAR.
Chloe going about this bully/rival thing reeaallll fruity
Emo Adrien just trying to listen to MCR and tune out the normies that just don’t get it 😡😭
NINO BEST BRO
EW WHAT HAIR IS THAT GABRIEL
Nooroo called them the ladybug and chat noir miraculouses, but shouldn’t it be the ladybug and black cat miraculous? I thought they chose their names for themselves, ladybug sticking with ladybug, chat noir coming up with his own?
TIKKI IS SO CUTE OMG
This chat noir so silly and goofy
NOT CARELESS WHISPER ARE YOU KIDDING ME. YALL COULDA DONE A BEAUTIFUL ORCHESTRAL SWELL AND YOU PICK C A R E L E S S W H I S P E R?!?!?!?!
Btw why did Marinette prove her worth while adrien was just like. Doing hw. It’s easy to prove you can use the ladybug for good. Show me why he was chosen to use destruction for good. That’d be so interesting.
PUSS IN BOOTS
Plagg take an antacid plz
SHE THREW IT OUT THE WINDOW
Pop off hawk moth villain song honestly, best one so far
OK HAWKMOTH SING
Nino Dr. Love omg my favorite guy
Golden rule: always stay cool… (voice immediately shoots up an octave when Alya speaks to him)
That’s NOT HOW ROLLERCOASTERS WORK
That’s gotta be at least a few casualties
ASHDJFJF Catches Chloe from a deadly fall only to redirect and chuck her HARDER into a dumpster
Chloe you gotta stop giving off repressed fruity vibes
This movie has not established enough of a connection between marinette and adrien to justify ladybug rejecting chat noir (on the basis of loving someone else, I mean, not that she can’t reject him at all)
Plagg? Not the time.
WTF HAPPENED TO YOU GABRIEL?!?! DID YOU GO ON A BENDER?!?!
The movie has not established enough, if any, disconnect between adrien and gabriel. I love seeing adrien stand up for himself, but it feels kinda weird
LMAO HES LIKE BOUNCING IN PLACE WITH ANGER DONT MAKE ME LAUGH
Adrien with headphones is so fucking funny to me. Head down shoulders hunched, listen to welcome to Nightvale cause no one else gets it
Chloe. Every. God. Every word out of your mouth is so fruity. “There is someone else. And she’s right in front of you.” Someone else for who, Chloe?? For marinette?? I better you’re hoping she thinks you mean u and her huh?
Crush likes someone else. Life not worthy living. Dreams not worth pursuing.
All these songs run together. Except hawkmoths. His kicked ass.
Jesus Christ it’s Armageddon
STOP WITH THE FUCKING CARELESS WHISPER
HAS HE BEEN LISTENING TO CARELESS WHISPER THE WHOLE TIME?!?! THIS FUCKING LOSER OH MY GOD
Ladybug out here in YOUR FATHERS APOCALYPSE and you’re MOPING IN YOUR FANCY HOUSE
It’s the end of the world are you really gonna be salty rn?!?!
Ew why it’s the cataclysm like. An oil slick?!
Oh shit he dead
Oh he super dead
From the top of the Eiffel Tower? Into water?? You’re dead.
WHERE IS THE LAVA COMING FROM?!
SINCE WHEN DO YOU HAVE THE FORCE HAWKMOTH?!
Damn show hawkmoth could never.
Jesus fucking razor winged butterflies
Movie says fuck sentimonster adrien here’s Emilie pregnant
Anyways uh you killed and displaced likely hundreds of citizens so get ready for a lifetime in prison, hawky
OH I FORGOT ABOUT MIRACULOUS LADYBUG LMAO WERE GOOD ACTUALLY
Ok you placed the rubble back together but a bunch of people are still probably dead right
Ya Chloe make a quick exit bc of that gay crisis you’re having. Next year? Back to bullying. What was this year Chloe? Hm?
Overall: cool animation and effects, nostalgic for early lady noir dynamic, writer brain is itching for what could’ve been, but otherwise it is what it is, prob won’t watch it again.
EDIT: SHE DISNT DO MIRACULOUS LADYBUG UNTIL THE END RIGHT???? LIKE AFTER A FEW MONTHS OF HEROING??? SO ALL THE SHIT AT THE FAIR. JUST HAPPENED. YOU CANT TELL ME THERE ARENT LIKE. DEAD BODIES. I DONT THINK SHE KNEW SHE COULD FIX IT RIGHT??? PEOPLE DIED. YOU DESTROYED A CHUNK OF A CITY GABRIEL.

What kind of world is Briar from? (ex. futuristic, “normal”, etc.) I would be more interested in hearing about the world building aspect of her world. Especially in relation to how she can use her powers. (Side note: Did you draw her on paper or digitally? The texture and colors are really nice! :))
Anon just know I love you💗 but seriously thank you so much! I love these questions!
Her world is pretty similar to ours in terms of the modern world, but the colors in her world are really bright & vibrant with soft blurred lines for the landscapes. It’s very picturesque & beautiful. If I had to give an art style it would be like a vintage oil painting with bold use of colors. The crime in her world is pretty similar to ours, but with a few supervillains to spice things up. But she tends to focus on crimes like what affected her family & dedicates a lot of time to freeing kidnapped victims. I like to think that her world has the same kind of music that ours does cause she is a HUGE Lana Del Rey fan (she’s a depressed bitch, what do you expect?) She likes the typical sad emo music but she also likes a lot of upbeat pop music, showtunes, & a few sea shanties lol, so not what you’d expect from a hardcore goth. & because it’s my world & I make the rules they have the And That’s Why We Drink podcast & it’s like her favorite thing to listen to. Like she’ll literally be swinging through the city or in the middle of a fight & she’ll be listening to the newest episode not giving a fuck if it’s “disrespectful” to the bad guy. It’s disrespectful to interrupt her while she’s trying to listen!
Her powers are pretty similar to Miles & Miguel’s (invisibility & fangs/venom) but while Miguel’s bite just leaves you paralyzed, hers takes a harder toll on the nervous system & depending on how much she gave them, it could kill them. If she does bite someone & they’re just a normal person, she’ll leave a little vial with a note next to their webbed up body that says something along the lines of “sorry, I bit this one, he left me no choice. Might need to go to the hospital, but he should be fine if you give him this :)” smiley face & all. But sex related crimes have really dropped since she stepped on the scene & she’s a pretty big feminist icon in her world. (One time Em & Christine mentioned her on the podcast & she freaked the fuck out & ran into a building)
& thank you so much, I’m so glad you like her! I drew her on paper & colored her with my prismacolor colored pencils & outlined her with my glitter gel pens. I used the photo layers app to trace her out & make a transparent version cause I just like the look better than my kinda ratty sketch book lol

Motel Breakfast – I Promise I’m Having Fun
The sophomore album from Chicago’s Motel Breakfast, called I Promise I’m Having Fun was produced by R. Andrew Humphrey (Twin Peaks) and captures an indie rock spirit in the same vein of bands like Cold War Kids, Dr. Dog and The Menzingers. These emo-tinged songs were written by all five band members, and showcase a band starting to come into their own identity. Motel Breakfast is Conor Brennan, Drue deVente, Jimmy Drenovsky, Mick O’Donnell, and Jesse Nasadowski, and their band chemistry pays off on I Promise I’m Having Fun. The records kicks off on the right foot with the excellent single, “The Call,” that features great guitar parts and soothing vocals. The picturesque lyrics of, “Baptized in gray water and raised on tainted land / The world grew up around me with a rage beneath the sand / Blame fate and thank the lord, the bricks were bound to fall / ‘Cause no matter how long I listen I will never, ever, ever, hear / The call,” put focus on the tangible, physical elements around them. Other songs like “Rhonda (NYE)” and the guitar groove found on “Fairview Ave” highlight a band coming to terms with the state of the world, while still leaving room for experimentation in both their songwriting and personal development. The middle section of the LP features some cool jazz-infused songs like “Lit A Match,” that reminds me a bit of Hot Hot Heat paired with early Walk The Moon. The second verse of, “Running out in the heat while the sun goes down / Alternating between feeling like a clown / And feeling great, I know my place is so composed and proud / If we just wait we’ll set it straight but I can’t talk right now,” puts the focus on the complexity of relationships. Other tracks like “MB (as in Modern Baseball)” feature an up-tempo approach to their songwriting and pay homage to emo bands like American Football and Spanish Love Songs as well. Late standouts like “Wonder Year” are simply beautiful in their composition, and make it a fun time to be a music writer discovering key bands like Motel Breakfast. The closing duo of “Orchard” and the sprawling opus of “Suite: Learning To Live” highlight the songwriting improvements from this young band from Chicago. The closer, in particular, has a vibe to it similar to The Killers and hits its intended target more often than not. Overall, there’s plenty to love and enjoy on I Promise I’m Having Fun. The band works best when they play off of their core influences and tinker their sound to match the vibe of the lyrical content. I’d like to see the band continue to explore the depths of their sound and find ways to utilize their immense musical talent in the best way possible. The future looks blindingly bright for Motel Breakfast. --- Please consider becoming a member so we can keep bringing you stories like this one. ◎ https://chorus.fm/reviews/motel-breakfast-i-promise-im-having-fun/

Existential Magazine’s September Music Roundup
With the month coming to a close, we’re sharing just a handful of our favourite new releases we’ve discovered this July! Sit back, put on our New Music Friday playlist and spend a few minutes enjoying fresh new tunes hand-picked by us.
Seoul Metro - Anywhere
The Manchester-based artist Seoul Metro has embraced his pop influences within his debut release ‘Anywhere’, a glowing indie-pop twinkling of sound. Led in with steady drum beats and glowing synth, the sound is immediately established to be upbeat and infectious. Fading back, tapping drums and intermittent backing sound effects litter the verse, all the whole Seoul Metro’s vocals add a depth to every soaring sound. The chorus absolutely explodes into colour, dancing through vibrant synth key pops and continued percussion, all the while Seoul Metro airily flows into a higher range, making for a heavenly slice of mesmerising lyrics. An emphatic guitar riff glides through the concluding heightening of sound, showing off a whir of energy and rock-based spirit you just can’t get enough of. Infusing stylings from an array of genres, ‘Anywhere’ is utterly addictive in how it grows and develops, filtering through indie spirit, rock grit and pop hooks you can’t get enough of. Writing of yearning for a lover and worldwide travels, Seoul Metro sings lines like ‘let’s go to anywhere, I’d run away to anywhere with you’ that display a real urge to love and be loved, while running through picturesque scenes without a care in the world. Other lyrics like ‘I don’t wanna work no more, I just want to be adored’ emphasise the desire many hold within to live life to the fullest, escaping the cyclical capitalist agenda for a life rooted in so much more. At two and a half minutes in length, this astounding new anthem is one sure to wrap you around its fingers and leave you yearning for more, and we just can’t wait to see what’s next for Seoul Metro.
Love Ghost - Snap
Continuing from their string of stylistically dynamic singles this year, the alternative force to be reckoned with Love Ghost are now returning with yet another fiery sure-to-be hit ‘Snap.’ Reminiscent of acts like CORPSE and Scarlxrd, this new shift in sound from the emo rap and pop-punk blenders shows something a little more diverse, as well as collaborating with the Mexican artist Chzter for even more unique flair. Conversing around a dark trap sound, ‘Snap’ falls into place immediately with distinct electronic beats and distorted backing vocals, before gravelly spoken vocals that lead things into the first verse with a gritty, snarled edge. Building up into more layers of scattered beats and two vocal layers, ‘Snap’ plays out between cleanly sung lines and an undertone of hoarseness, almost seeming to parallel those darker thoughts we all carry within but try to bury beneath a facade of doing well. Chzter soon takes over for a segment, flowing through her own lyrical mix of both English and Spanish with an unparalleled angst and confidence, delivering lines with a flair you can’t get enough of. Between addictive pop-esque hooks and more punky tones, Love Ghost are always here to break down the barriers of genre and prove that artists can succeed by simply opening themselves to whatever feels right. Lyrically, the track runs through darkened themes of battling through depression but ultimately transforming into someone you’d always wanted to be, achieving new heights and escaping from the rut of mental illnesses that made it feel intangible to reach. Defeating that part of yourself you no longer recognise or resonate with, ‘Snap’ is a freeing, cathartic anthem of sorts, giving you that nudge of closure to a chapter preferred to be forgotten.
Dom Malin - Fever
Returning to the scene, the singer-songwriter and indie-pop gem of an upcomer Dom Malin has just shared his latest glowing single ‘Fever’, a slice of heaven wrapped between nearly three minutes of instrumentals. An infectious electric guitar riff and warm strums lead into the sensual experience that is ‘Fever’, an opening that’s filled with a positive groove you can’t help but immediately be hooked on. Gliding into the first verse with the addition of steady drum beats and Dom’s tender vocals enriched by his lower-toned emotive encasing, ‘Fever’ delivers upon a sound that’s absolutely radiant and urges you sing along before you even know the words yet. The chorus rather originally finds itself scarcely changing in instrumentals whatsoever, instead placing a focus on the atmospheric sparkles that follow it in the form of thudding drum beats, pulsating synth-esque beats and layered backing vocals. The bridge takes a more climactic turn, thriving through a short rock and roll reminiscent guitar riff before fading down into drum clashes and a synth haze, all the while Dom’s introspective lyricism and haunting vocals guide you through. With such a catchy patchwork of sounds, Dom has penned a narrative that’s just as passionately-infused, writing of the intoxicating pull of attraction and desire. Led in with the title defining lyric ‘I’ve got a fever, a hot, cold sweat’, Dom makes it very clear this romance is one that’s gotten him swept off his feet, consuming him both physically and emotionally. If you’re after a release that’ll leave you feeling good and bursting with your own hopeless romantics, look no further than ‘Fever’ for that sweet release.
Eva Westphal - Adult
Since beginning writing music at only age thirteen, the pop and folk blender Eva Westphal has since made her mark on the music scene with continually hard-hitting releases, and her newest ‘Adult’ is no exception. Tenderly led in with acoustic guitar strums, intermittent and subdued violin strings, backing vocals and distant spoken words, ‘Adult’ captures a real sense of nostalgia just in its introduction alone, like you’re in the neighbouring room to your childhood self watching things unfold. As the first verse glides in with these continued gorgeous instruments, Eva’s soaring vocals lace around their delicate poignance and protrude with her own elegance, cautiously capturing a sensitive realness in every haunting word left lingering in the air. The chorus only further captivates you, floating around more resonant violin strings and heavenly backing vocals in a way you can only achingly stir within, feeling both a warm comfort and intricate pain all at once. With a message that’s perhaps heavier than you’d ever imagine, Eva writes a letter to her teenage self dedicated to survivors of abuse, pouring her heart and soul into what she wishes she could do for her younger self to feel safe and loved like she deserved to be. That sense of solace and familiarity flows the entire way through, leaving the track feeling like the embrace of someone when you need it most, while still peering into darker avenues of experiences no one ever deserves to go through: ‘when you need somebody older to tell you it’s not your fault, I’ll be that adult.’ Bittersweet is perhaps the best way to describe it, as Eva leaves you aching through a narrative journey that’s not always easy to hear, but ever so important to listen along to the poetically written words of.
Bvrden - Indigo
Hailing from London, the alternative-rock duo Bvrden have found themselves taking listeners on dynamic musical evolutions since their 2020 beginnings, now sharing their latest heartfelt slice of reality in ‘Indigo.’ Setting the pacing immediately, Bvrden delves headfirst into the thunderous sound of ‘Indigo’ with a pounding drum beat sure to get you on your feet and your heart racing. Soon complemented by emphatic guitar strums, the soundscape falls into place as the real slice of indie-rock it strives to be. The first verse fades out of the guitar strums, taking instead a quickly paced riff and bright intermittent strums into the background instead, a more subtle speeding dominance all the while the staple drums remain centre stage. Bvrden’s lower-toned vocalist complements the sound perfectly, capturing an emotionally indicative edge in his more downbeat delivery, giving the perfect vocals for an anthemic tune to thrive off of. The chorus only continues to rise through this dynamic evolution, growing into an atmospheric lacing of heightened vigorous guitar strums and thudding drums while Bvrden’s vocalist dances through a slightly higher range that completely switches-up the track’s vibe. The second verse only continues to shift your expectations, tenderly lingering in an acoustic guitar riff and occasional reverberated electric guitar strings before the pacing picks back up with gargantuous momentum. Writing about fighting for your purpose and finding the strength to build and follow your desired path no matter how much others and life get in the way, ‘Indigo’ journey through a real passionate declaration of finding oneself and learning to trust yourself above all else. Chasing your dreams regardless of the judgement and fears of others, ‘Indigo’ is that reminder to never let anyone halter you in your path to success, as you know deep down what you’re capable of.
OpenTAB - WYA
Debuting their first ever single after five years together and a mass of live show performances, the up-coming alternative pop and rock blenders OpenTAB bear everything on their sleeve in ‘WYA.’ Dreamily led in with an echoey electric guitar riff, acoustic guitar strums and haunting airy backing vocals, the introduction alone sets up an atmosphere you can’t help but feel you’re floating within, lost high above in the clouds. Lightly picking up as the first verse cascades in, their vocalist soars into the soundscape with his own tender delivery, at times complemented by layers of backing vocals for an even further ethereal effect. Soothing drum beats also accompany the sound moving forward, pushing the momentum along but maintaining the song’s delicacy with an ease. The chorus shifts in tone as the track falls into darker notes, deep bass twangs and a newfound riff, a surprisingly downbeat moment you can’t help but ache along with. The repeated chorus hook ‘where you at?’ only further adds to this, leaving you caught up in the band’s pained narrative that journeys through fears of abandonment. Exploring difficult themes of the uncertainties of life, OpenTAB find themselves terrified of waking up and losing everything, unable to comprehend such a blindsided betrayal and the aftermath of losing everything without closure to piece you back together. This evidently hurt story desperately seeks answers throughout, asking ‘how the hell did this happen, we were so good?’, leaving you feeling every word of their heartache. Yet the sound utterly contrasts their every line, offering you a comforting mesh of indie tones to get lost within while their narrative finds you lingering in more thought than you’d ever expect.
OK PANDA - Echoes
With their first glowing new single since the release of their debut EP last year, the Brussels-based pop rock quintet OK PANDA now share ‘Echoes’ for the world to hear. Delicately rooted in more of a folk-pop, paired-back sound, ‘Echoes’ right away entangles you within its branches of warmth and simplicity, capturing the same stunning resonance as shimmering lake water on a summers day. Between an introduction of a crackling record-players hum, a bright electric guitar riff and subtle drum taps, ‘Echoes’ immediately sets a tone of nostalgic whimsicality, a haunting but uplifting sound to get lost within. The verse settles into more toned-down drum patters and intermittent keyboard keys before lightening back up with emphatic acoustic guitar strums, electric guitar twinkles and bass twangs, an ever-growing layering of instruments that captures the same tumultuous, never-resting feeling of life. Their vocalist offers a familiar radiance in his every word, dancing through the sound with a lower-toned range that offers seeping essences of deeper emotions. The flowing guitar riff feels like the core of the track’s euphoria though, laced in the most vibrant of evolving tones and strings before a thunderous climax shows off every instrumental’s powerful performance. With an interwoven lyrical message of the same empowering sense, ‘Echoes’ speaks of an ode to freedom, a deep burning desire to break free from the mundane cyclicality of life and explore what it truly has to offer. As we often fall into routines that almost seem to cement us down into their fixtures, OK PANDA are here to remind you that it’s never too late to chase those dreams and make those memories, you’ll only regret not doing it: ‘do you relate to those who try to leave?’
Keep For Cheap - Lakehouse
Uniquely blending indie, country, rock, and pop, the up-coming band Keep For Cheap have been finding themselves in tune with music that resonates deeply within, captivating audiences with stories that both make them feel at home and leave them aching all at once. Their newest offering ‘Lakehouse’ is a perfect example, longing for a place that no longer feels like home. In lines like ‘in my friend’s families cabin’ , this distant memory from the past finds itself tugging at your own long-lost past, reminding yourself of those who once felt like family that couldn’t feel more like a stranger in adulthood. Continuing ‘when I go back up there now it aches as that same old place, same water… I seek its vitality’ , the yearning for youth poignantly shines through, whether that be a carefree childish attitude or to relive those moments that once were all over again. Lead in by enchanting natural sounds from a pouring stream, ducks quacking, birds tweeting and subdued voices, ‘Lakehouse’ right away sets a scene of this tale lost in time that you can’t help but feel nostalgically entwined within even though you never lived it yourself. Building through textural acoustic guitar strums and an airily gliding female vocals, the intimacy of ‘Lakehouse’ is never once lost, transporting you to a place filled with utter serenity. As things push forward, thudding beats soon join into the mix along with drawn-out guitar string plucks, all building up the multitude of layers that make ‘Lakehouse’ feel just as warm and inviting as its dainty storytelling leaves you feeling. Things only further grow and evolve as the song propels onwards, climactically rising into intense instrumental heights and addictive clapping beats before closing out with a more sincere moment of calm. If you’ve ever longed for music that takes you someplace else, visually guiding you through journeys that aren’t your own and yet feel so entwined with experiences you one lived, then Keep For Cheap are a band you’ll feel warmly welcomed by.
Alice Pisano - Back To Her
Pairing an uplifting dance-along sound with a song delving into the complexities of love and heartbreak isn’t an easy feat, yet the synth-pop upcomer Alice Pisano finds herself doing just that in her latest offering ‘Back To Her.’ From bright piano keys and steady beats that open up the release, there’s an immediate sense of intimacy as well as a driving energy that pushes things forward, leaving your heartbeat racing for what’s to come. Things continue to build as the beat picks up in pacing, all the while Alice’s soaring vocals glide through a floaty delivery that’s emotive and self-assured all at once. Climaxing for the choruses high, her vocals lift into a much more powerful range and confidence, all the while the track absolutely bursts into colour. From a multitude of layered beats, scattered synth pops, dreamy backing vocals and more, this heightened moment offers a much-needed cathartic outburst for an otherwise bittersweet realisation of deserving better. As Alice writes of falling for someone who’s just not over their ex, she sings ‘you’ve got one foot in the past… I should step back, move on’ , acknowledging the truth of the situation and yet the unwillingness to let go. Continuing ‘I’m falling for you’, it’s clear she’s torn between head and heart, knowing she’s deserving of someone all in for her and yet she finds herself yearning for this one person alone. From the track’s catchy sound to the message buried within, ‘Back To Her’ leaves its mark on you within its three minute journey of emotion, reminding you never to settle for less but that you’re certainly not alone in finding yourself wanting someone still longing for what they’ve lost.
Moon Worm - 9/10
Closing out our Roundup for the month with a dreamily atmospheric soundscape, Moon Worm find themselves capturing the same kind of bliss in ‘9/10’ that you’d only ever find above the clouds, a floating resonance and a sincere freedom as far as the eye can see. With deeply reverberated guitar strums, prominent bass twangs, steady beats and dazzling synth, the hazy mesh that is ‘9/10’ offers an escape to someplace else. Soaking lucidity and ethereality into his enchanting layerings of sound, Moon Worm patches together an experience that’s comparable to nothing other than the universes’ grandeur, a sonically powerful journey that echoes between worlds and loops between your thoughts. As the heavily electronically-ladened, resonating vocals glide through the sound, ‘9/10’ only further pushes its cascading aura upon you to behold. But moments of more intimate drawn-out synth keys bring you back to earth, a short moment of utter tranquility needed even in the most vibrant palettes. As Moon Worm pens a desire to escape normality and see the world, ‘9/10’ rings out with a mesh of internal dialogues that almost overshadow one another, clouding between the dreams of adventure and the fear of leaving something behind in the process. Accepting that permission to move on to bigger things and let go of what once was, ‘9/10’ is perhaps that reminder we all need to reach new heights and live our days to the fullest: ‘give it all, see what happens next.’
Give a listen to these songs and more in our New Music Friday playlist this week, or see our Roundup Recap playlist for every song previously featured in one of our monthly roundups that you might have missed!

da nang Reveals Epic Single “don’t hate me”
Tumblr media
he loud, naive sound of 90’s garage rock, beneath earnest vocals from the days of third wave emo, tell the story of da nang. “To be born in paradise,” the band takes its name after Đà Nẵng, a picturesque coastal beach town in Vietnam. Fronted by queer Viet lead singer John Thai —a first-generation Canadian, born to refugees in small-town Ontario—da nang is an intentional revisit to 90’s adolescence; a time when queer voices were never heard, or at least never this loudly.
Listen in here:
https://open.spotify.com/track/6GU0FYgx8HsVeNO1tfkoo7?si=w8GUojjMR46CZRPGvhx62w&utm_medium=share&utm_source=linktree&nd=1
Thai prefaces their new single, “don’t hate me,” explaining that “social anxieties and fear of being my authentic self made it near impossible for me to feel comfortable making music. There were no out and open musicians at the time who I could relate to, certainly not Asian ones. ‘don’t hate me’ is a retrospective anthem for that queer adolescent kid who so desperately wanted out.”
Distorted guitars, a driving bass and drum beat and aggressive vocals come together to create a feeling of anxiety and excitement, the kind that comes from getting bullied, or giving the bully the middle finger.

Nobody asked, but i think I'd describe my aesthetic as overgrown lavender emo. It's for the ppl who had an emo phase, grew out of it, kind of miss it but can't let anyone find out cause you're supposed to be put together now, so you have to be really subtle about it, and also have an obsession with pastels but mostly cool tones. Annnddd yeah. It's kind of like a war within yourself cause you want to be "edgy", but you also realize that in your position of life being "edgy" is really looked down upon. It's kind of dark academiaesque, but the academia and endless thirst for the picturesque is just a front cause the true you doesn't actually care about any of that or anything really, but you don't want others to hate you so you pretend anyways. It also combines soft girl in the way that you never for a moment can look like you aren't happy, you can't be anything but happy not even for a moment, or again, you think others will hate you if they knew you for anything other than the cheerful, energetic, nice, optimist. And finally it includes emo in its most middle school form. think back to the parts of this phase of your life that you cringe at the most, it's about your inner middle schooler just yelling and screaming and breaking everything to try and get you to listen to them just once. the overgrown lavender emo aesthetic is about healing your inner child in the most half assed way possible, so that it only gets louder until you reach your inevitable break down. Things i like that I'm putting in as quintessential aspects of the aesthetic: Iced Americanos, the works of Franz Kafka, The book of disquiet by Fernando Pessoa, glitter gel pens, sad girl books, listening to MCR in the secrecy of your bedroom, Mary Janes, oversized cardigans/sweaters, a line dresses, hair clips, dress shoes, Pilates, walks at sunset, mock necks, Vivienne Westwood, tote bags, Crocs, cool tone pastels, LOTS OF TIGHTS, not dressing for the weather (it's always spring and winter clothing for me, i don't care that it's 105°F), low-key smudgy eyeliner, and lots of sleep.
But this is just my aesthetic.

A random memory popped into my head just now:
I was taking this traditional art class on campus back in 2018, and our professor allowed us to listen to our own music because sometimes we didn't all like the music she played.
So I'm sitting outside with other students in this picturesque courtyard [imagine birds singing, trees are in full bloom, sun is shining] and I have my phone sitting next to me for ease of swiping through my playlist and a song that is rather contrasting starts playing.
So our sub professor for the day walks over to look at my progress and glances down to see my spotify. He looks at me, this young white blonde girl with a very innocent look, and with wide eyes and goes "You listen to Run the Jewels??" He was absolutely floored. And that is the funniest shit to me.
I may look like your girl next door but my music taste says early 2000's emo bitch who loves alt and rap music.
