Panel one shows Tenzō having turned away from Kakashi. There's tears running down his face again, but his posture hasn't gotten tight and defensive again. "Hah. That's a pretty big drawback," he says, half joking,
Panel two, Kakashi's arms enter the frame and grasp the edges of Tenzō's happuri. Tenzō, seemingly caught off guard, lets him do this, too surprised to even mind that Kakashi can see his tears. "On the bright side, you have a home," Kakashi counters, "people you trust,"
"and a shiftless, good-for-nothing Captain, who's too lazy to fill out the paperwork for hospital-dodging." Kakashi says in panel three. The image shows Kakashi smiling more convincingly, if a little apologetic, gripping Tenzō's happuri in his hand.
Panel four shows him holding Tenzō's happuri out with one hand, and Tenzō grabbing the metal sides of it with both of his own hands. "Anyway, I'm pretty sure you're not a liability or a threat to Konoha," Kakashi says.
In the final panel of the comic, Tenzō ducks his head, looking up with one tearful eye as Kakashi reaches out. Tenzō is still gripping his happuri in his hands, close to his chest. Kakashi's back is drenched in the yellow light of the hall.
"My couch is yours, if you want to stay the night," Kakashi is saying as he ruffles Tenzō's long, now-unbound hair.

How They Found Out P2 |Naruto Men X Reader| HC
Tumblr media
Characters: Sasuke Uchiha, Shikamaru Nara, Kakashi Hatake
Summary: The aftermath of your relationship becoming public. Part two to How They Found Out
Warnings: Mentions of sex, marriage, kids. Pretty low key tbh.
- - - - -
Sasuke Uchiha
Tumblr media
What an absolute nightmare.
Once you heard the front door shut, Sasuke basically collapsed on top of you.
He groaned. His night had been ruined, and on top of it, Naruto was sure to cause drama for the coming days.
"It's okay, Sasuke. They were sure to find out anyway."
"Our relationship going public and Naruto catching us having sex are two very different issues, and it's a bit concerning that you think I'm worried about the latter."
You kick him off of you with a laugh and suggest a shower. There was no way your escapades could continue on after all the fuss.
The next morning, you basically had to drag Sasuke out of the house.
He'd been moaning and groaning and grumbling since last night, so much so that he started to sound like Shikamaru.
Who knew Sasuke could complain so much.
Once you were out the door and the second your friend's eyes caught you, they pounced.
All at once, they hounded you about what Naruto may or may not have seen (Naruto has a habit of being a bad storyteller, so who knows what actually went down)
Sasuke refused to answer any questions until the chaos had settled down. They did eventually, albeit reluctantly.
"It's true."
That just sent them all reeling again, begging for details.
You two already discussed what you'd keep secret and what you'd share, so the meeting went pretty smoothly once everyone agreed to keep their composure.
Until fucking Sakura started asking questions about your sex life.
After that, you zipped your mouth and refused to answer anything further.
They'd just have to live on not knowing anything.
Shikamaru Nara
Tumblr media
After news got out, Ino decided it was her place to convince Shikamaru to, in her words, "be a man and ask her out already!"
He ignored her, convinced she was full of it and brushed her off.
But her words lingered in his head.
Your friends were all beginning to settle down; Naruto and Hinata had just gotten married. Talk of kids had started to circulate in the group.
Were you wanting marriage and children?
The slow buzzing quickly turned into an almost constant fog in his mind. He'd never been so distracted before.
What a drag.
Within the week, he was knocking on your door.
"I need to ask you about something."
Weird. You could read him pretty well at this point, but this energy he was putting off was new.
"What's up, Shika?"
"Do you want to get married?"
Your eyes widened and jaw dropped. When you tried to answer, you found yourself at a loss of words.
"I mean, damnit, I- do you want to get married eventually? Or have kids at some point?"
You stared at him like he had two heads.
"Are you feeling alright? Why don't you come inside?"
He didn't fight you. He walked in and sat at your table in silence while you made him some tea.
You'd pried it out of him that Ino was behind this sudden change, and assured him that things would be okay.
"Look, I never brought it up because I know you're not a feelings guy, buy yeah, I guess I would like to have a family. I thought that's what you wanted, too?"
He got that irritated look on his face. The one he always gets when people ask him to work.
"It is, but,"
"But don't worry about it. I work on your time, so whenever you're ready."
You gave him a kiss on the cheek.
He let out a sigh of relief, glad to have fallen into such a situation with someone who understands him so well.
"Not too long, though. It's been almost two years, Shika."
On second thought, this was a total drag.
Kakashi Hatake
Tumblr media
The next morning, you two made sure to bump into his students.
They seemed rather pleased with themselves, that they had been the ones to finally catch Kakashi lacking.
It only took a single look for Sasuke to realize it was all fake. They'd been bested by their sensei once again.
That quick glance he got from Kakashi told him not to say anything to the others, which he hadn't planned on anyway.
"Kakashi sensei, why didn't you ever tell us you were seeing someone?"
He set a hand on Sakuras head and ruffled her hair.
"I try not to share my personal matters with children. That's what friends are for."
Enter Gai, who happened to hear.
"You didn't tell us either, Kakashi."
He just shrugged, sending Gai into a fit.
News traveled fast in the village. What else is to be expected when romance rumors come up about the Hokage?
Kakashi was actually very calm about the whole thing.
Despite dreading this day for a long time, he was actually very content with the outcome.
There had been so much going on when you initially got together. Wars and death and PTSD and all that.
But now was a time of peace. A perfect time to actually start living, and this was just the beginning.

The conversation around Sasuke leaving Konoha needs to change. It's true that the in-story narrative by those who don't know Sasuke is that he is a traitor that betrayed Konoha. Unfortunately, too many in the fandom take this narrative at face value. But neither Naruto or Sakura endorse this view. Although they are confused by Sasuke's choice they both know Sasuke too well.
People talk about Sasuke choosing to leave Konoha...
But no one talks about how Itachi told Sasuke he'd come back to kill him someday. And Sasuke had very good reason to think that Itachi would target anyone Sasuke got close to.
Or how about how the curse seal would have killed Sasuke if it wasn't fully activated?
Or how Orochimaru made it clear he wasn't going to stop pursuing Sasuke? How long do you think it would have been till his patience ran out and he got tired of asking nicely?
Or how about the fact that he was found and targeted while he was in the village. The village couldn't protect him. Kakashi couldn't protect him. It's even the whole reason Naruto left to train, because the village wasn't safe enough. Naruto had people looking out for him. But Sasuke didn't. He is targeted multiple times and the village didn't take any action to protect him.
Yeah, Sasuke did make a choice. The right choice. He made the best choice he could make under the circumstances and no one-- not konoha, not Naruto, not Sakura--no one was hurt more by Sasuke's choice than it hurt Sasuke to make the choice to leave and live with one of his abusers. Yet he was the only person who offered to do anything to help him deal with his other abuser. It was horrible that Sasuke had to put himself through this second trauma... And yet the fandom has the audacity to make Sasuke's trauma about Naruto?? Or about Sakura?? Sometimes it really seems like no one in this fandom gives a crap about Sasuke unless it's to prop up their stupid ships. The fandom literally treats Sasuke like crap. Sasuke didn't leave because he wanted to. He wasn't being selfish or greedy. He just took stock of his situation and made the most viable choice he had. He wasn't happy that it was. He was willing to die for Naruto and Sakura. He valued them more than than his own life. Of course he wanted to stay. But he couldn't.
Ironically the fandom has compassion for Itachi for doing what he felt like he had to do, even though he actually killed people, and when he torments Sasuke, of course even then people actually focus on Itachi. But Sasuke did something that incidentally hurt Naruto and Sakura, do he's a selfish traitor. Sasuke didn't owe Naruto or Sakura. Yes, we see Naruto cared about Sasuke, but to Sasuke's face Naruto had treated him like he was a rival he wanted to overcome more than as a friend. And Sakura? He never started a relationship with Sakura. He may have felt guilty because he was abandoning his duty to Konoha.... the irony.
Sasuke lost everything once, and then he lost everything again when he was forced to leave it all behind. And it killed him. That Sasuke, the part one Sasuke who sometimes acted his age, he died. Sasuke killed him, so he could survive. It was yet another traumatic experience in his life.
That's the conversation we should be having about Sasuke leaving.

Please may I have Naruto Platonic headcanons of Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno with a childhood friend who is exactly like Yukio Okumura from Blue exorcist and he is also Sasuke Uchiha's younger twin brother. He used to be a crybaby and was picked on quite often during childhood. He grew out of it when he was 7 and started training as a ninja around that time and he became a Jonin at the age of 11. He didn't spiral on a path of revenge like Sasuke but it was clear the relationship between Sasuke and him was not the same anymore. *he did gain more fangirls than his brother though..and he wasn't picked on anymore*. He is a highly skilled Uchiha and that much was obvious.
Naruto's relationship with him from childhood to now
Sakura's relationship with him from childhood to now
Sasuke Uchiha's relationship with his brother from childhood to now
Kakashi's relationship with him
Team 7 - Platonic Childhood Relationships
Warnings: None
Tumblr media
Naruto Uzamaki
- He always saw you crying and alone when you two were kids so from the beginning he liked you more than Sasuke
- He could empathize with the loneliness
- Once you guys werewere forced to hang around each other he didn’t really like you as much
- You were a stickler for the rules and a bit standoff ish and always surrounded with fan girls
- So he was jealous and found you annoying like he did with Sasuke
- But then came a day where he unlocked your Traumatic Backstory TM
- Because of that he was able to know you and understand you better and you two became close
- I think you and Naruto would have gotten the closest out of everyone and became really good friends
- Even in the war, you two would always look out for each other
Tumblr media
Sakura Haruno
- She thought you were annoying at the start
- A crybaby, she thought your brother was much cooler than you and probably used you a couple times just to talk to him
- As your personality started changing though she started talking to you more
- After spending more time with her and team seven, as well as being a jonin at an exceptionally young age Sakura liked you a lot
- It was probably your mysterious personality she was drawn too
- However the more you hung out with Naruto the more she started liking and talking to Sasuke and using you again
- By the time the war was over though, you two put your past aside and managed to become pretty good friends
Tumblr media
Sasuke Uchiha
- Before everything with Itachi happened you two were inseparable
- You did everything together
- But once it was all done, he slowly started growing distant
- You were all each other had and your bond deepend initially
- However that didn’t last long
- Sasuke hated your crybaby attitude and it wasn’t long before you drifted from one another
- Once you two had to spend more time together again it took a while for you two to get warmed up to each other again
- The past and his jealousy of you being a jonin greeting in the way of a stable sibling relationship
- It took a while but you two managed to make amends
- When he set out to take revenge on Itachi, he tries to convince you to come, hating you when you refused, hating that you were stronger than him and wouldn’t avenge your clan
- Your relationship was in shambles once again
- Once he returned you two worked together when you had to but still usually avoided each other when possible
- After the war was over you two started working on fixing your relationship once again
Tumblr media
Kakashi Hatake
- He practically adopted you
- He saw himself in you and knew he wanted to protect you
- No matter the situation Kakashi was always there for you to help
- He became a very important father figure in your life
- Helped you learn a lot of the Uchiha techniques
- He helped you with your training as a jonin and went with you on your first few missions to get you used to it
- You two had a really close bond
- Once the war started he tried to get you on he easier missions not wanting to lose you in the war.
- You mananged to convince him you could handle the war and the two of you stayed together through thick and thin
- Once the war was over you helped him with his duties and made sure everything went well

Naruto moved with caution as he went to sit down. Sakura moved with him, hands flickering green. He was thankful for her presence, and reminded him that even though nobody would help, she would be with him. Help him find you.
Jiriaya heaved a strangled sigh as Tsunade looked as if she was trying to murder him with her eyes alone.
“Well, I’m not exactly sure how to put this in words…” Jiriaya trails off as he looks to Kakashi for help. In turn, Kakashi pointedly looks at Tsunade.
“Lord, all of you lot are baboons,” she turns towards Naruto, and the previous gravity of the situation hits him full force again. You. And you not being with him.
“What happened to her?” His choked voice escapes him without his permission, as if a deeper part of him is seeking you out. His soul, being, and entire existence of Naruto, wailing for you.
Tsunade finally looks at him with remorse, well hidden, but noticeable because he has seen her at her lowest, knows what to looks for-
“I don’t want you to hate anybody, Naruto, Sakura. You both understand the, implications, of Naruto’s situation, yes?” She asks.
Sakura looks up from her hands, confused. Unable to hold in his want, his need for information, he whirls to her, grabs her face and drops the first bombshell of the day.
“I’m the Kyuubi’s host. It’s sealed inside of me.” Sakura’s eyes widen, but she’s been treating this as high risk surgery, so she internalizes, then promptly moves on. His hands drop.
The adults in the room watch dumbfounded as the two have an unspoken conversation (look at the irony of that) and then turn to look at them in unison. Tsunade takes this as a cue to continue.
“It’s no unknown fact that being a jinchuuriki is something that is very important to the village. They are mostly seen as very powerful beings in the military strength of a Hidden Village. Therefore, many others seek this power for themselves, such as the Akatsuki.”
Naruto felt as if he had split into two pieces. One was paying rapt attention to all of this, and the other was irked at the fact that this isn’t telling him where you were.
“When Naruto was born,” and now with this new tone of voice, he could tell that this is the Hokage and not Baa-chan talking to them anymore. “I believe, the council and Third Hokage thought it was the best choice to create a dormant ninja with astounding abilities to protect him from danger.”
There was a high pitched ringing in his ears again, and Naruto’s mind made the connections. Because no matter what people say, he is a ninja worthy of training under one of the Sanin. He learns to understand the unspoken, but lord, he didn’t want to now. Not if it meant what he thought it meant.
“She’s the dormant ninja, isn’t she?” Sakura’s voice cuts through, stating the obvious.
Tsunade nods.
“Then what does this have to do with anything?! This isn’t as bad as my secret! I won’t treat her differently, I promise! Let me see her!” He begs. Because he’s been without you for so long, Naruto feelings like he’s slowly shattering.
Sakura places a hand on his shoulder, “I think, that this is still the background we need to understand what happened.”
Tsunade clears her throat and continues, “Since this is a dormant ninja, they gave her the powers through seals. Her entire being is covered in them, and they connect to the corpses of the first two Hokage.”
Naruto’s breathe catches in his throat. Everyone knew that the corpses of the Hokages are preserved and kept somewhere very secret. To have that sort of power-
“But, all of this needed an anchor, and since the village had just been attacked, the Third Hokage became that anchor.”
He was making the connection. Uzumaki’s excelled in Funinjitsu and he had Jiriaya teach him. He just prayed that whatever his mind came up with, was wrong.
“After his passing, I soon found the scroll holding all of this information, and found that since she didn’t have an anchor, she was extremely unstable. We had to create a new anchor for her. Kakashi started it, Jiriaya fixed it.” Tsunade faltered. “I think it’s best if we go see her now.”
On the way to wherever she was, Naruto was dazed and completely unresponsive. Sakura was a comforting presence behind him, and his hand was fisted in Kakashi’s flak jacket.
Pleasepleaseletmeseeherpleaseiloveher
In the basement of the building they were in, they near a room with a window, which had an ominous blue light spilling from it. Naruto screwed his eyes shut, clamping them with force. He lets Kakashi steer him.
He doesn’t want to see what he did. Because this is his fault. Had he not been here-
Naruto hears a gasp escape from Sakura, followed by stifled sobbing. At that, he lets go of Kakashi’s jacket to cover his eyes before taking a deep breath and opening them. Although he didn’t want to see what he did, the need to see you would always overpower anything.
And there you were. The first thought in his mind is that you had grown even more beautiful as time passed. You look like the gods had spent time carving you out of stone. He never wanted to kiss you more.
Then the rest processed.
You were kneeling, ankles bolted to the ground, shackled hands clawing at the ground beside your thighs. Dressed in undergarments, seals littered every available space on exposed skin, glowing a bright blue. Hair brushed your back, swaying softly to their own dance, while your back arched as you stared at the sky with your mouth open in a silent scream going to the heavens.
There were people fluttering around you with brushes, dripping with ink as they scribble around the floor that surrounds you.
Naruto’s vision flashes black before coming back wavy, distorted. A sound escapes him, and he sees Tsunade with glowing hands near him. Distantly, he thinks that he is screaming for you, with you, your pain and agony flowing through him.
Then, Tsunade’s chakra wraps around him, and all he knows is darkness.

“Naruto would also do so much for the red light district once he was in charge.”
Just absolutely love the thought of Granny Rin teaching Naruto how to use what little money he has and him taking it to heart as hokage. Him taking to heart all the love and care such a large part of Konoha (forgotten and ignored as it may be) gave him even when they had so little.
Him completely overhauling every financial system in place for the better. Correcting the money funneling for Root Danzo was probably doing, negotiating better trade deals with other villages, finding new trade routes, requiring careful documentation of how every dime is spent (suddenly undocumented spies are very rare), etc.
They don’t have to go with the cheapest “quality” goods anymore when Naruto can go straight to the source of the best and make negotiations himself. Shinobi get better gear, better pay, more benefits, better health care (therapy!!!), etc.
And when all that’s done with, turns out there’s actually hell of a lot of money left over without a Danzo shaped leach screwing with things. The academy gets more specialized teachers and more funding, the orphanage becomes habitable, and workers go through intensive screening before they’re allowed around the kids.
The red light district gets better housing options, the removal of dilapidated buildings that are more hazard than not, medical options, education options for the kids that don’t want to become shinobi, and the workers get full legal protections.
———
Maybe once it becomes clear that the changes to the academy lead to better/ more well rounded graduates, each one being better than or equal to past rookies of the year, they raise the graduation age. Give them time to learn more than the basics and put less stress on the Jonin taken away from their duties to train them in basically everything. Assign teams before they graduate to give them time to work with each other outside life or death situations and complete d ranks in the village for a year.
Fatality reports come in. Less genin dead than ever. They raise the graduation age again, diversify the lessons, call in experienced chunin to work with the older students, and incorporate specialization training with special Jonin. Again they’re better trained, more well rounded, more experienced. Every graduate comes out at least on mid chunin level. The majority makes special Jonin, Jonin, or ANBU within a few years.
The other villages take notice as they always do. They mimic Konoha’s success until there really are no kids on the battlefield. It’s a dream realized and finally made true. Even if it does take several hokage’s to get to Naruto.
I mean when you think about it ROOT would have been a massive suck on resources. Like even just keeping his little homegrown terrorist organization fed alone would have taken some serious cash much less training and outfitting each and every one of them. And for all the good Kakashi could do as Hokage, he has never had to think about money the way Naruto has.
How to make it stretch. How to barter for survival. How to ensure every last cent is accounted for because that could mean the difference between a meal and going hungry.
The finance department was shocked and a little horrified to see the Hokage himself, hat and formal robes abandoned for a messy bun and silken kimono, chewing on a senbon as he pours over every expense report in the last few decades and reworks the budget by hand.
It’s the most strict budget they have ever had.
It’s the best budget they’ve ever had.
He scribbles down a message on the back of a scrap paper they’re pretty sure is a receipt for his lunch and sends it off with a bird before anyone can stop him and gets a scrap of a puppet schematic with his answer written back. soon enough a trade contract is hammered out on scraps of paper and their relationship with sand has never been better.
He demands every teacher gets more stringent background checks and training for how to recognize abuse. In turn they see an upswing of kids who were thought To be sure washouts starting to thrive as they were taken out of bad environments. There is even a stretch where Naruto himself taught at the academy until more teachers could be found and trained. The kids why had him as a teacher end up as one of the best Shinobi Konoha has ever seen (if a bit unhinged in the same way he is)
He directs the budget into he poorest places in the village, starting with his home (because the red light district would always be his home) giving them the better world he promised them with a fanged smile.
Naruto fixing Konoha by learning the lessons the ‘lowest’ of the village taught him and through his skill of making alliances fixing the world and leading them all into a golden age.

Does anyone ever think about how creepy certain characters in Naruto are?
Mainly Rin, Minato, and Sakura.
Like. Most characters have some sort of background to them. Most of the Konoha 11 and their teachers have clans, Kurenai has her father. Even if they don’t like Anko, we see people like Orochimaru use their lack of support system. It has real world consequences.
But... these three don’t have that. Rin and Sakura are meant to be ‘the normal ones’ on their teams, but we never see them interact with their families or friendssans their team (and Ino ig - again another powerful clan heir. Hmm...). Hell, both of them are way too obsessed with a member of a very powerful and also kind of hostile to the government (for good reason) clan who Danzou has been shown to want to manipulate. Rin almost doesn’t seem human in her mannerisms at times, and in the manga seems to copy Obito’s reactions a lot. Sakura quite literally has a split personality inside her head to show her ‘actual’ emotions to things, which is powerful enough to break out of the control of the heir to a clan famous for that exact jutsu. She is able to do that in the firts place. Rin is able to immediately perform an eye replacement with the eye from her dying best friend to her other friend/crush, and the eye still works fine. Not just fine - as good as it could given the circumstances. She’s able to switch off her emotions and do this literally as Obito is dying. Sakura just so happens to choose to become Tsunade’s apprentice, despite showing no previous interest in medical ninjutsu, after she, a person with a clear history of trying to make at least some changes within the shinobi system that gives Danzou easy acces to recruits for ROOT, becomes the Hokage. Despite being ‘civilians’, both girls have shown a total readiness to fight in hard situations - more than Naruto himself.
As for Minato, he knows many classified jutsus that only the second hokage was able to do, somehow is as good or better at sealing than a girl literally from a clan who specialized in it, had a connection to both Hiruzen Sarutobi and the Three Sanin through Jiraiya. His teammates are never mentioned. His friends are never mentioned. When his students die, both of them, his reaction is muted, almost barely there, and he doesn’t really seem to understand Kakashi’s grief at all. Even after that, he still puts Kakashi, at this point still a teenager, into ANBU Black Ops without much hesitance. He barely seems to care for his students at all. Despite Kushina’s offer that would have left Naruto with at least one living parent and would have gotten rid of the Kyuubi for good, to seal it back within herself and die, Minato still chooses the option - sealing himself - that leaves the Kyuubi still able to be used and Naruto without a support system aside from the Kage government.
And all throughout this, we never see their friends. We never see any of them having any support system aside from their teams. We never really see any of them with actual goals - Rin especially. Yeah, ‘Hokage was Minato’s goal!!’ and it just so happened the stars would perfectly align so this kid with no shown ninja background or connections was in the perfect position to be mentored by someone who turned down being Hokage and then... he became Hokage. It’s still really suspicious. You could argue the same is true for Tenten and Lee, but a) both have stated goals, even if they’re not really focused on, and b) neither of them have the other ‘creep’ factors (Rin’s mannerisms, Sakura’s second personality, Minato’s reactions) that set off alarm bells in my head.
Like idk. Maybe it’s just bad writing or drawing or animating, but... there’s something about it that makes me wonder. I’ve said before I think Sakura should have been a ROOT agent, but this is why I think within canon there’s actually a possibility all three of them were plants. Maybe not ROOT, but... seems a bit too weird for me to just brush off.

Hello! First of all I want to say I love your blog! It is always nice to find someone to share opinions. I want to comment last anon ask and your answer. I agree with you 100%! But, many of my friends who claim to be very objective in their characters analysis of Naruto, and actually use the word “ship” in a negative perspective, always point me out that canonically Kakashi would never love Sakura romantically. They say that my interpretation is too occ and I’m transforming Kakashi to someone else, someone I like but it is not the one portrayed in the manga. I fell very sad when they say this because actually I really feel that their love potentially would really possible and not just for my headcanons but because I really saw some situation in the manga that makes me think so. I ship them basing on some hint I really got reading the panels, is not like put together people who never met each other. The only one I’m changing is Sakura because in my mind at a certain point she would see Sasuke as a dear friend and no more as a crush, and yes this is occ. What do you think about it? Thank you.
Hi Anon,
thanks so much for asking me! First of ...Naruto series is not an adult series ...rather one for kids young adults and Teens. So of course we do not see overly romantic or sexual scenes. God forbid! But....and there is a big but....! Kakashi would love Sakura romantically and here is why: Whenever I rewatch Naruto ..and I do it over and over again ..I am stunned again and again ..at how gentle and kind Kakashi is to Sakura. I kind of realized this ...when I began to write a FF for Reader and Kakashi ..where all scenes of Naruto classic beginning are contained in that FF..and there I realized the many occasions ..Kakashi seemed to be drawn to Sakura. And its an ongoing thing ...it does not ...end with Naruto . ..no no! I was literally stunned ...at how much ..Kakashi seeks the attention from her ...first I ...I grew jealous ..out of it! it was ..as if almost ..the reader stands in competition with Sakura ..when it comes to Kakashi. And its fact and canon. I could not believe it at first! In order to write the story as accurate as possible I had to rewatch. That is the beginning ..why I now am highly vocal about Kakasaku. Now ..if you watch it because of the fights and what not ..and are focusing on such things ..or the Jutsus and Chakras ..the arcs ..and the character growth ...you do not realize it. You have to watch it very closely ..and then ..you can see it what I mean. Or write a FF from the persepective of the reader who is part of the series...as in my case. Kakashi says of himself ..that he has many hobbies ..and the official characterization of him says ..that he has many hidden talents ...and that he is rather very domestic. This tells me ..that we dont see the whole personality of Kakashi in the series. When we see him ...being positively surprised of Sakuras strength in the seconed bell test ...and him thinking of the possibility that Sakura could be the better Kunoichi than a Tsunade ...I feel ...that is love and admiration! When we see him ..rescueing her ..over and over again ...not critizising her ....worried about her ...and in the end of fourth great Ninja war holding her ..standing by her side ..stroking her cheek ..touching her ...defending her against a Sasuke ...and it is all canon. He is sooo gentle to her. And to no other woman. That is the point. I feel Kakashi has hidden sides ...that is not shown in the series. We see hints of it. Him aproving of Asumas and Kureneis relationship , him loving to read Icha Icha ..who he himself describes it at one point ( Jiraya interviews Kakashi) as dramatic ..romantic and what not ..tells me ..that he indeed can be wonderfully romantic as well .I also feel ..that when it comes to love ...Kakashi has to have a deep connection to his love interest. He is not the man ..who is just struck down by physical attributes. The most important thing to him in a relationship ..I would say ..is trust and Teamwork. Everyone can be romantic in some way or another. It depends ..how you define romance. Romance can also be ..very simple natural things in our daily life. Next time ..you can go to your friends and let them read my answer to you here! SasuSaku for me ..is the irony pairing. Sakura in my opinion did not grow much...but ..with Kakashi on her side ...she would have! No doubt about it! Conclusion ...of course Kakashi would love Sakura romantically ..its all there ..and its canon! There are so many hints that point in that direction. I hope ..I could help you out ! 🥰

A book Is An Adventure
Words: 1651
For: @shinobimagpie
A chime echoed through the tiny bookstore, alerting Gai to the arrival of a new customer. An unfortunate occurance given his current situation.
“Hello!” He called out while shoving boxes of books under the counter so that the customer couldn’t see them. His boss was very particular about keeping new books out of sight until they were to be put out on display and Gai wasn’t going to break that rule just because he’d wanted to take a peek at the new arrivals.
It wasn’t like he needed to check to see if any of them would be good for his favorite Wednesday night customer.
“Hello,” a familiar voice called back to him, causing Gai to whip around so that he was facing the door that the customer had just walked through. “Busy morning?”
“A- not really,” he answered. “It- it’s not Wednesday.”
A chuckle greeted his words. “It’s not.” Kakashi agreed as his eyes crinkled at the edges. Not that Gai would notice.
He certainly wasn’t staring at those beautiful black eyes that Gai happily got lost in every Wednesday evening.
“Weird,” another voice spoke, drawing Gai’s gaze down to the kid standing just behind Kakashi. Taking a guess at the kids age, Gai would say that he was around 5 years old. “Are you allowed to smile, big brother?”
Kakashi’s eyes rolled upwards towards the ceiling. “Once in a while,” he answered before reaching back and gently pushing the kid forward. “Now come on. Kushina-san said that she’d be back in an hour. We need to pick a book.”
Crossing his arms over his chest the kid huffed. “I don’t want a book. Books are boring!”
“Naruto…”
“Boring!?” Gai threw a hand over his heart as if he’d been personally wounded by the kids words. “Books are anything but boring!”
“No, they’re boring,” The kid, Naruto, insisted. “Everything big brother Kakashi reads is boring. They’re full of kissing and things my parents do.”
“Well,” glancing down at the books that he’d shoved under the counter just a moment again, Gai smiled. “Maybe romance novel’s aren't for you. Kakashi does have a particular preference in books. One that’s not for everyone.”
“May I remind you that I'm not reading a romance novel right now?” Digging into his messenger bag, Kakashi brought out the book he’d bought in his last visit as proof. A chunky four hundred page book on old mythologies that Gai had offered to him when he’d surprised him by asking for a non-romance book. “And I am enjoying it.”
Naruto stuck out his tongue. “The story you read from that was sad. Who read’s about that kind of stuff.”
“It was… ok, yes,” Kakashi’s shoulder’s slumped. “It was sad, but I liked it.”
Warmth bloomed in Gai’s chest when he heard those words. He hadn’t been sure about suggesting that book to Kakashi at first, but it seemed he’d made the right choice.
He only hoped it didn’t do anything to worsen Kakashi’s view of himself. There was no one Gai had met in his life who was as hard on themselves as Kakashi was. Hearing even a single kind word when Kakashi spoke of himself was a rarity.
Something Gai would love to fix, if only he could. He just hadn’t figured out a way to make Kakashi see how amazing he was.
How loved he was.
Shaking that thought away, Gai returned his attention to the task at hand. “No romance and nothing sad,” he thought through all of the options in the kid section. “And something Kakashi can read? Or your mom?”
“Big brother Kakashi!” Naruto threw his hands up into the air as a grin split across his face. “He’s the best at reading stories.”
“I can only imagine,” sparing a glance towards Kakashi, Gai watched as he ducked his head, covering his face from view, but not before Gai saw the smallest hint of a blush creeping up over his mask. “So, something without romance,” he repeated. “And nothing sad. I think I might have the perfect book.”
Stepping out from behind the counter he headed straight for the small kids section in the far left corner of the store. There were actually five books he had in mind, but if he told Naruto that it would seem like a giant task.
In his experience babysitting Lee, five year olds didn’t like giant tasks. They liked things that were quick and easy to do. So, he’d focus on one book at a time until they found the right one.
“Now,” he stopped in front of the booksehfl and peered down at the top shelf. “Where is it. I’m sure it was here. Oh!” His eyes landed on the first book on his list and he wasted no time pulling it free from the shelf. “Here we go. This one is about a king who has to protect his land from a dragon.”
“Bleh,” Naruto stuck his tongue out again. “King’s are boring.”
“No kings,” setting the book at the top of the shelf, he began searching for the next. “In that case, how about this one?” He grabbed a purple covered book and showed it to Naruto. On the front was a knoght holding a sword with a princess standing behind him. “A knight who saves the princess from danger. A bit of romance but not enough to ruin the story.”
Lifting his gaze to Kakashi, Gai barely contained his laughter when he saw him rolling his eyes.
“No,” Naruto huffed. “No princess’.”
No princess’. That took not only this book off of the list, but two other’s, which left Gai with only one other option.
“No romance, no sad stories, no princess’,” he repeated the restrictions to himself as he set the second book atop the shelf and began his search for the final book. “Well, how about-“ his eyes locked onto the book and he claimed it immediately. On the cover was a hero dressed in bright orange with his best friend at his side. Both of them wielded a sword and faced the reader directly. “This one is about a pair of hero’s. Best friends who go on adventures together.”
“No romance?” Naruto asked, his eyes glued on the cover.
“No romance.”
“And it’s not sad?”
“Not at all,” Gai assured him with a warm smile. “I read it just last weeks for story hour. The kids loved it.”
“I’m pretty sure they loved that you read it,” Kakashi argued, earning himself a skeptical look from Gai. “What? You’ve had story hour on Wednesday’s so I've heard you read. You put on voices and everything.”
“Voices!?” Naruto gasped. “Like Big Brother Kakashi does?”
A hand came down into a short blond hair and gently ruffled it. “Shush,” Kakashi grumbled, his eyes now directed toward the far right corner. That didn’t matter though. All Gai cared about was the brilliant red blush that was slowly making its way up Kakashi’s face.
Someone didn’t like being exposed as the dork he was, but Gai had never needed to hear it from someone else. He’d seen that dorky side of Kakashi every time he would gush about his latest novel, or whenever he’d follow Kakashi outside of the shop and see him interacting with his small pug, Pakkun.
Most importantly, Gai had fallen head over heels in love with Kakashi specifically because he was such a dork. It was rare to find someone as passionate as Kakashi was, with a good balance of coolness to balance out that dorky nature.
“Well, maybe if you like this book you can come back for another visit,” he held the book out towards Naruto. “And then I can read a story and you can tell us who has the better voices.”
“Gai, are you challenging me?” Kakashi tilted his head. “I’ll have you know i put on great voices for the stories.”
A smile stretched across Gai’s face. He’d always loved a good challenge, and there nothing he wouldn’t do to win. Even if his competition was the prettiest man he had ever laid eyes upon, Gai wasn’t going to sit back and lose.
‘Wait’ his brain screeched to a hault as he processed what Kakashi had said. ‘Was that a compliment? Did he compliment himself?’
It seemed impossible, but Gai was certain he’d heard Kakashi right.
Not only was it a compliment, but it was cocky. For the first time since Kakashi had walked through the door into his little bookshop, Gai heard something new.
An arrogance he’d never thought he would hear in Kakashi’s voice.
It was exciting.
“A Competition,” he declared, determined to hear more of that arrogance if he could. “One i will easily win.”
His words were met with laughter. Sweet, brilliant laughter. Something he had hoped to hear during Kakashi’s last visit, but which had been sadly lacking due to the terrible day he’d had.
“Don’t be so sure of yourself,” He held out a hand and took the book when Naruto offered it to him. “I won’t lose easily, even if you’re cute.”
As soon as the words left his mouth Kakashi’s entire face lit up in a brilliant shade a red. Something Gai had never seen before.
“Gross,” Naruto bulked at the scene before him. “You’re worse than dad.”
A competition, a laugh, three blushes, and a kid who might actually compete with Lee for the title of Gai’s favorite. In one short visit Kakashi had gifted him all of those things without even intending too.
Gai had thought he was in love before, but now he was certain of it. There was no one in the world better than Hatake Kakashi.
Still, that didn’t mean he was going to lose. He’d have to work on his character voices so that he could secure the win and earn his total as the ultimate creator of ‘story voices’.

I’m curious, if you were given a once in a lifetime task to rewrite chapter 700 will you do it? If yes, how will you end the story?
(I hope you say yes 😋 and I want to let you know how much I enjoy reading your blog ❤️ thanks for sharing your thoughts)
Hey.
Thank you so much, I enjoy writing this blog. :)
Will I rewrite chapter 700? I want to say yes because it would be an opportunity of a lifetime. But no, I am sorry to say I wouldn't. For the simple reason, that if I wrote it, it wouldn't be canon. 😔
But would I write my own ending, like a fanfic? Sure, I might.
Top five things that I can think of right now pertaining to an ending of my choice:
1) Make Sasuke and Naruto kiss at the end of chapter 698. Of all the media I have ever seen or read, I have never known a better build up for the gentlest, most meaningful and most deeply felt kiss to take place between two lovers. Imagine that kiss. Like the most soothing balm on all the painful wounds my boys had to bear over the years inflicted upon them by the entire world including their own families. A testament to their love that they openly accept and receive and give. Without compunction and hesitation. Taking ownership of their feelings, not being scared to feel the way they feel anymore. That kiss would have been faith. Faith in a world that they would make happen for themselves, just for them, not for the sake of others, like they have always done. That kiss was my right as audience. Kishi stole that kiss from me. Obviously, I would make Sasuke and Naruto reunite as lovers and make Konoha accept it, even if they don't like it. Fuck em.
2) Make Sakura and Hinata realize Sasuke and Naruto don't love them, and that it's futile on their part to keep pursuing them. I also want both of them to apologize to the boys. Sakura for being a general pest and insensitive to Sasuke's feelings. And for trying to kill him in the most cowardly manner. Make Sakura apologize to Naruto for being an asshole to him, a jealous and resentful, violent bully. Make Hinata apologize to Naruto for putting him in very difficult and even fatal and deadly situations just to satisfy her own selfish desires, stupid girl.
3) Make Konoha apologize to Naruto for treating him the way they did. I would make every single person in Konoha apologize to Naruto, except for Iruka and Sasuke of course.
Make Naruto reveal the truth of Uchiha massacre and Itachi. Sasuke deserved it. Make people of Konoha realize what happened and how they participated in it. Also, I would write Sasuke to understand why Itachi did what he did but at the same time, not to follow in his footsteps. Itachi is a tragic character, but blinded by state propaganda. For a person who saw and was shaped by such devastation growing up in a war torn world, he certainly contributed a lot to it himself, making genocide and fourth shinobi war happen. I get he wanted to protect Sasuke but making him see his entire clan being killed over and over and over again as an eight year old was certainly not the way to do it in any world. :/
I would make Kakashi apologize to Sasuke for criticizing him for his goals and for forcing him to like Sakura (Kakashi came off as really biased and emotionally stunted), Kakashi didn't treat Sasuke like a comrade, as is his byline, and I would make Kakashi own up to his own hypocrisy.
I would also make Sasuke and Naruto open a super equipped mental rehab facility for people with PTSD (and other mental health issues) on top of Hokage mountain with funds taken from all the previous hokages' vaults. And appoint Tsunade as its chief assisted by Shizune. Sakura will work under Shizune's command.
4) Make Oro and Kabuto pay for their crimes. Life imprisonment. But also, I like Oro and no doubt he is a gifted scientist. So I would want him to help Tsunade with medical and therapeutic stuff at the rehab centre. But under strict and controlled supervision, which means he won't be let out of the premises or do anything that he used to do before. I would want him to undergo therapy himself. I like his humor. I would pay good money to watch the interaction between him and his therapist. Lol.
5) Make Naruto and Sasuke reform the shinobi world, reform Hyuuga clan, make former leaders accountable for their misdeeds, make the general populace more self aware of the things they do to inflict damage upon others, other clans. After Sasuke's contribution to the war has been revealed, the boys would work towards reducing the clan mentality by forming centres and organizations which would require effort from all sorts of people with all sorts of strengths and skills and incentivize programmes and schemes that bring people together and educate them in the most meaningful of ways. They would travel places and address pertinent issues and solve them using a combination of Naruto's empathy and Sasuke's ingenuity. This can be developed overtime into a programme which would function as a blueprint for the rest of the shinobi world, which would focus on how to resolve issues and conflicts in the most humane manner possible.
These are some I can think of right off the top of my head. But it was certainly nice to think about it, heh. Thank you for this ask.

Panel one is so close to Tenzō that he's mostly out of the frame aside from the lower half of his face. He's trembling again. Behind him, Kakashi regards him with a critical eye. "Here I am, making you patch me up, asking you not to report me, but putting you in a situation where you have to," Tenzō says, then, adds, "And I'm scared of my own village." Panel two shows us only their backs. Tenzō is sitting straight, shaking, and Kakashi is leaning towards him slightly. "I'm, at this point, already a liability—" Tenzō starts, but Kakashi cuts him off. "Tenzō, I'm not going to report you," Kakashi says. Panel three, Tenzō turns to look at Kakashi. The tears have returned to his eyes and he doesn't seem to notice them. "I know you don't want to," Tenzō says. Panel four, Tenzō looks away and down. His shudders have noticeably increased. "You're very loyal," Tenzō starts. Kakashi interrupts, "Tenzō." "And I can't let myself take advantage of that," Tenzō says, as though he didn't even hear Kakashi. Panel five, Tenzō turns back to Kakashi. He's slightly smaller in the panel than the previous two. "I'm sorry. I don't know why I came here," Tenzō says. "Tenzō," Kakashi interrupts, this time in a larger speech balloon with bolder text, louder. Tenzō continues still, "I forced you into this situation—" Panel six features only Kakashi, his eyes are narrowed, his eyebrows low, and he's got his hand in front of himself as though he's making a slashing motion. "Tenzō, you're not listening to me," Kakashi says. "You're not a liability or a threat, and I will not be reporting you." Panel seven shows them facing each other. Kakashi is sitting straight, while Tenzō has once more assumed his defensive hunch forward. "Senpai—" Tenzō starts to argue. "I am however, going to bar you from both solo and split missions in any research labs for the next year, at least," Kakashi says, and some small, pale subtext beside it reads "Unless my order is superseded by a higher officer, obviously." Tenzō, looking frustrated, but still shaking and tears still rolling down his cheeks, argues back. "I told you, it wasn't the lab. I wasn't scared, it was like I—" /end ID

finishing up the last request from like.. 3 weeks ago :D Oops. anyway || Konohamaru x OC / Shino x OC / All Might x OC / Kakashi x OC / Kakashi x OC reloaded
"i want to be wildly, deliriously happy.  wildly, deliriously loved."
requested by @kankuroplease
-
“So- uh, that’s about it,” she leaned back in her chair, eyes set on her opposite. The man in front of her seemed frozen in place like a statue, only the irises moving as if he was trying to solve a very complicated mathematical equation in his mind. Ko tapped her foot impatiently, the nerves that had followed her around all day were now creeping at her back again. “Thoughts?”
Konohamaru put his fingers together, his blue eyes still spinning: “Pregnant, huh?” He said the word like he had just learned it.
“It’s what Auntie Tsunade said,” Ko confirmed.
“And you are sure it is from me?”
Ko frowned in anger: “Of course, I’m sure. What are you implying?”
“Nothing.” His eyes flicked up and she could see the embarrassed blush on his cheeks. “I just wanted to make sure I’m not misunderstanding.”
That didn’t help that much. Ko still felt a little peeved at the reaction. She didn’t know what she had expected after forcing herself to not run away, coming here and telling him about it, but it definitely wasn’t accusations thrown at her. Maybe she had thought he’d be excited? It was so foolish to think that.
She tapped her finger again. “Thoughts?” she repeated. “What do you want to do?”
He leaned back eyes now on hers again, but much softer as they’d been before. There it was again, his tendency to look at her so earnestly, like all his feelings were carried on his face. Ko could see that he still loved her, whyever that was, but most of the time she tried to not look at him too closely. His earnest feelings made her buried ones feel bad, at least that was the only way she could describe it.
“You are the person that can make a choice here. I do not tell you to keep or not either,” he said and moved his head to the side. “In this sense, it does not matter what I feel or what I want…”
Konohamaru let out a deep breath and Ko sensed that he wasn’t done talking. “But-“ he started, “if it is about what I want, if I get to want something in this – uh- situation, then I would want to be happy. I want to be wildly, deliriously happy. Wildly, deliriously loved.”
The words hit so hard that she felt like her head was spinning. “With me?” she asked. How could he just say such things out loud like this? How could he express himself this freely about how he felt about them, about her? His emotions were his weakness, she had always said and implored him to work on them.
“As a family, yes,” he replied. “I wanted you to apologise first, say how you really feel before we could ever be – you know-, but in this situation its probably better to just give it u-“
Before she knew what she was doing Ko had already moved forward, her hand slung around his to pull him closer: “I am sorry, ‘Maru. And I- I do feel-“ She stopped because she just didn’t know how to say it right. “I think I want to be the one to fulfill your wish. I think I want to have a family with you too. I want to have this child, because it is your child too.”
To her surprise he laughed. “I guess that is as much as a confession as I can get out of you.” He took her hand in his. “Well then, we shall be give this one a try again, hm? Without lying this time.”

I didn't even call Sakura useless Madara, I thought I had made the quotes very clear "useless", I did it on purpose but you're really trying to depict me as the villain. If I can't give you reasons as to why Sakura would be disliked, yes, for not being in the manga, then what's the point of the whole debate? Nobody is gonna blame the author, this is Sakura Haruno we're talking about, the most hated and misunderstood character in shounen, you can't tell people to dislike the author because nobody thinks of them, they think of the character, they think of Sakura.
I used the sentence "it's not that medics are useless" to introduce how you and everybody that defend Sakura would automatically resort to in real life situations and not fiction like this manga/anime, and to explain the point I had made in that paragraph. I don't think medics are useless, you're just easily triggered by that word even if it's said to explain a context.
No, medics aren't useless. But the PLOT is making them NOT IMPORTANT to the point of not including them in situations where they should be. And THAT'S WHY PEOPLE CAN DISLIKE HER, not the author, the character and the whole system behind it.
And on top of that you agree that other characters can be more popular due to their relevance, and that's my whole point so don't demonize me for goodness sake. This is fiction and if my a character isn't in the plot I can dislike them. I can dislike the plot and I can rant about it all I want. And I can totally switch to liking another character more and say "wow X character could do so much more so I'll like X more now".
You're losing all credibility for me, not wanting to see the point and always resorting to comparing fiction to reality when spoken about this matter.
Understand thus conversation from the fiction pov please, not from the irl situation. Three years ago Ikemoto said that Kakashi was doing an important mission and we still haven't seen him, so I have the right to me totally worried about what will happen to Sakura. And I reiterate, Kakashi isn't in the manga, easily the most populsr male character in Naruto and the whole shounen.
We'll celebrate when Sakura comes back to life, which is probably never since Kishimoto isn't writing, (no he's not writing stop saying he is it's already been made clear, he's supervisor) and the new author doesn't like her.
Anon, firstly, you said it's "completely alright" if someone starts disliking a character because of uselessness and a lack of appearances. Therefore, you very explicitly indicated that you find no problems with such ridiculous sentiments. The fact that you didn't explicitly say that Sakura is useless doesn't matter, when you already signified that you find no fault with those who do indeed call her useless. Putting useless in quotation marks doesn't mean that you disagree with that assessment, it just means that you're choosing to use their wording, nothing more. If you don't think that Sakura is useless, then you should have worded it differently.
I'm not even "resorting to in real life situations" like you're accusing me of doing. I have very clearly, time and again, referenced examples from the Naruto universe, of how utterly stupid it is to call Sakura useless despite the number of times she has proven how valuable of an asset she is. I didn't say anything about how valuable doctors and nurses are in real life, I have only said ever said how valuable Sakura is in the Naruto Universe. So stop making those false accusations.
Secondly,...
Nobody is gonna blame the author, this is Sakura Haruno we're talking about, the most hated and misunderstood character in shounen, you can't tell people to dislike the author because nobody thinks of them, they think of the character, they think of Sakura.
That's not true in the slightest. People think of the author literally all the time. Why do you think Kishi has been subjected to so much criticism over the years? Why do you think he's had to deal with all these silly "sexist" accusations? Why do you think he's had to deal with all these stupid "homophobic" accusations? Because people very obviously think of the author and criticise them when they deem it necessary. If Sakura does something silly in the plot (like her fake confession), then dislike towards her would at least be understandable, because that would be her doing something to give you a reason to dislike her. However, if people to choose to dislike her simply for not being in the plot, then that's not a fault of Sakura's, that's a fault of the author, and people should (and have) criticise the author for that. Just because you inexplicably choose to dislike a character based on their lack of panel time, doesn't mean everyone else follows suit.
Thirdly, you're saying that I'm losing credibility?
When you're the one saying nonsense like how Hinata "does absolutely nothing other than whine"?
When you're the one saying nonsense like how Sakura is "just there, buying flowers for Sasuke or healing Sasuke"?
When you're the one saying nonsense like how Sakura has no personality outside of healing Sasuke?
When you're the one making baseless statements like how the author apparently doesn't like her?
I'm the one losing credibility? Oh that's rich. Anon, the mere fact that you can't even speak publicly means you had no credibility to begin with, especially when you make ludicrous claims like those above. You didn't even attempt to justify your empty claims about how Sakura apparently just buys flowers for and heals Sasuke, and yet I'm the one losing credibility? Despite the fact that you've just once again proven the fact that you'll ignore the simple things that I request you to do when you know you can't refute it? Okay then.
You wanna talk about credibility? Continue with your account.

anyways I'm caffeinated so I'm going to make a headcanon post for some songs i like for kakash & how they apply
california dreamin' //I've always hc'd that the idea of leaving Konoha is something Kakashi had hanging over his head for a long time after Minato died. Though it wasn't a logical train of thought & he knew it wasn't realistic, it's still an idea he never quite shakes. the weight of his losses during the war was suffocating & it seemed to follow him everywhere. but it's not something he can do. he knows that, he knows that everyone he loves who's died has died for Konoha. he knows that Konoha made him. even if he tried to leave, they would hunt him for the rest of his life. he's never known anything else & he's not sure he ever could. Of course when he connects with team 7, it all changes. they provide a new sort of faith he thought he had lost, they show a glimmer of light for the future. just because it was dark before does not mean it will always be. slowly they renew his perception of the world, each of his students in their own way. They drive him to believe in the spirit of fire again. People keep dying for the village because it's worth protecting, they just saw something he didn't for a long time.
time // unpopular opinion: this is one of my favorite songs for Kakashi. i feel like it has this dissociative feel that represents how the years pass after Obito, Rin & eventually Minato die. he falls into a routine of bloodshed & isolation & time seems to pass faster than what he can perceive. when he's young he keeps thinking it might get better, that tomorrow might fix things. then a decade passes & he feels the same, if not worse. it feels like he's chasing sunrises when they can't do anything but bring the next day, if that makes sense? for a long time, he expects things to just get better because he doesn't understand how to make things better. it also definitely applies to the years slipping through his fingers after his father dies. He was so young & spent so much time on his studies that he didn't necessarily give himself the chance to mature emotionally? Like eventually he does figure it out but he's put into very adult situations as a child & though he makes it work, the trauma sort of blinds him as to where he needs to go next? internally, at least. it leaves him arrogant by the time he becomes a jounin because he never grew past that. It blinds him, it stunts him until it's too late.
saint bernard // oh shit this one could be a post on it's own. This song, again, has the heavy/dissociative feeling that i associate with Kakashi. But I like to think that this song applies to Kakashi right before he find team 7. It's when he's coming to terms with the fact that his upbringing has fried his emotions. He's seeing things a little more clearly, though it's not an optimistic perception. But he's slowly learning to love himself & others, despite his mistakes. team 7 is showing him something he hasn't seen in a long time. They're more than human weapons, they have hopes & dreams beyond the bloodshed he was bred for. They were all bred for. At that point in his timeline, he still thinks they're all replaceable ( himself included ) but they give him a little more faith. they're showing him a new way, separate from what he had always known.
i don't trust u anymore // a) trans anthem b) when kakashi joins anbu he really starts to open his eyes to how the world works. He's always had an idea, he's always accepted that the shinobi world was dark & terrible & bloody... but to be the one committing those atrocities? it changes things. there's a steady change in his perception that shifts from ' i want to follow orders ' to ' i have to follow orders'. also lowkey i feel like this applies to Kakashi being trans & being accepted by his higher-ups because of his level of power & efficiency... but then he see's other trans folks being discriminated against? I want to write another post on this song as well as that situation.
be nice to me // this applies to Kakashi during the events of og naruto where he's changing every aspect of how he views the world. his perception of the world is totally twisted around during this time. the line ' there is very little left of me & it's never coming back ' really screams to me in this song because the person he was is gone. he's changing day by day & he doesn't owe it to anyone to be the person he used to be... & the people around him are changing too. it's the first time in a long time he feels like he's growing with his friends & comrades. they don't have to be the people they were, they aren't soldiers anymore.
home // so ( another) trans anthem of course of course. however i think this song really applies to how he perceives himself & the relationships around him. I feel like he has a lot of little intimate moments with himself where he thinks about the person he is, who he's become & how that's affected the relationships in his life. He cut off a lot of people for a really long time & it leaves him feeling really disconnected & afraid of how they perceive him. plus another way that this applies is i don't really think??? many people know that he is trans. i don't think it's something that a lot of trans people put out there in the shinobi world & it leaves him feeling this disconnect with people because he doesn't feel like they know him & the thought of them knowing him makes him feel physically ill?? if that makes sense. I'll make a whole post on gender & what it means to him immediately but he struggles hard with dysphoria as well as dysmorphia growing up, but there's a really beautiful journey of him settling into his skin here. i definitely think that conversation deserves it's own post though.
wild world // i really think that this song applies more to og naruto - naruto shippudden kakashi. this is really about him coming to terms with the fact that not everything is gonna be good & that's okay. he's lost people & will continue to do so & though it will never stop hurting... he'll always have them in how he remembers them. He carries them with him & that shouldn't shut him off to the next person. Naruto especially shows him that..If they leave him, if they die, if he never see's them again... it's going to hurt, but what can it be but okay?

(For the ''what would you force me to write'' thing:)
A loooong fic, with much angst and fluff! A kakasasu that falls in love when Sasuke is already married (it was forced on him by the elders/village as a way to keep a leash on him, but Kakashi doesn't know) and Kakashi has to deal with the guilt of loving the man that his student had married and knowing that it would crush her. He is even more horrified when he learns the truth of it. How do they overcome it?
Honestly, I want it to hurt Sakura pretty badly (I'm not a hater, I swear!) because I want the conflict of Kakashi actually having done something knowing it would hurt her--even though she was in the wrong, as she had used a jutsu to make Sasuke fuck her when she knew he didn't marry her willingly--and feeling that guilt but also, having it contrast with the happiness and peace he feels with Sasuke. I want to see him choose Sasuke's happiness and take action against the elders that went behind his back. I want him to finally, for once, chose his own happiness. To have him accept he deserves it too, have him learn to value himself as someone who deserves to be happy and have the things he want. It would be quite a journey, and not an easy one!! That's why I want to have Sakura not accept it, even after a while. I want the consequence of it to exist, but that what he gained from it to be worthy of it. I want a happy ending, with them more settled and healed from the shit life they had.
So, that's what I would ''make'' you write, LOL.
(abt Skr: I do think she would do this. She may not be ''malicious'' but she would take advantage of any opportunity to gain what she wanted: Sasuke. she would probably convince herself she could make him happy, that he would love her after they have a kid, that he would realise they're perfect together. Her canon attitude of treating his rejections as an enemy she would beat to the ground and win him over with persistence, the fact she chased after him after he told her no again after the war...all of it makes me believe she is very self-involved and delusional. I don't hate her, she is writen in a very realistic way--I have an aunt who did exactly that--so I just accept it as part of her. But I do believe she is the type of person to not see that kind of thing as non-con/rape. Or the damage it does. So the fic wouldn't be bashing, but it would be very honest about her actions.)
I just want them to be happy (╥﹏╥)
OOOOOOoooo anon! This is juicy indeed. I did post about something vaguely like this before, and the lovely @goodyfewshoes is writing a fic with their take on that post which is *chef's kiss*
But you've also brought up some interesting aspects here with the elders and the village playing a role. Now, I don't know if you picture this as involving infidelity, but my brain has been going there lately with them in a post-SS marriage situation and the layer that would add to it all. More complexity, more guilt. I'm not making a moral statement on it, it's not real life, but in fic? It would add a lot of intensity. But in either situation, whether they get together before or after a divorce, it would be really delicious. Because of course the feelings begin before all that.
I mean yes, Kakashi is all about feeling guilt! He never lets himself have what he wants, he never indulges, he never gives in if it means he will step on what someone else wants. And that person being one of his students? It tortures him. But then he sees how miserable Sasuke is and how he seems better with him, they make each other happy! And why shouldn't they have that? They love each other. They understand each other.
I want to see him choose Sasuke's happiness and take action against the elders that went behind his back. I want him to finally, for once, chose his own happiness. To have him accept he deserves it too, have him learn to value himself as someone who deserves to be happy and have the things he want.
Beautifully put. I completely understand what you mean anon, about wanting to see Kakashi go "you know what? fuck this" and make the definitive choice for not the greater good, but their (kakasasu's) good. And on Sasuke's part, he never loved his wife in that way, he feels trapped. He feels angry and wounded and like nothing but a trophy, an object, for both his wife and the village. But he never feels like that with Kakashi. This person who's been in his life for ages and now he's seeing in a way he never imagined.
And yes, I agree with the interpretation than in a world where Sakura, as she is depicted canonically, sees Sasuke love someone else, she would not be okay with it or react well. I've struggled in how much of that I want to include even in my current fics, because frankly I don't want them to be about her. But in the fic you've described where she's a central part, yes. The way she looks at being rejected yet again, it's pure anger. If a man looked at me like this after I rejected them, I'd be more than a little concerned. So I do think it would put her in conflict with them.

Really a plot ripe for sexy intense drama~

Iruka grins, walking around the edges of the large scroll unrolled on the table while the small team of scientists continues filling in the scroll with various seal scripts. On the other side of the room, a small team of medics are on standby, waiting for one of the scriptists to cause the scroll to blow up in all of their faces. Still, Iruka watches over the case carefully—he’s one of the few experts in this field, and volunteered to oversee the finishing touches when Kakashi had mentioned the project over dinner a few weeks ago. He’d much rather be at the Academy, of course, but there’s only so much actual teaching he does now that he’s the vice-principal.
“Are we just about ready to test?”
Iruka turns and grins at his spouse’s voice, new to the room. “Just about, Kakashi-sama.”
Kakashi shivers dramatically. “I’ve told you not to—”
Iruka steps around the table to stand beside Kakashi, leans in to kiss his cheek. “Yes, yes. Spouse of the Hokage shouldn’t have to address the Hokage so formally, you’ve said your piece.” He leans in and murmurs in Kakashi’s ear, very quietly, “But what if I like addressing you as such?”
Kakashi shivers again for a different reason, sighing lightly. “Later, My Love,” he murmurs back.
The team gathers around the scroll and Iruka takes his own place at one of the edges. He wasn’t originally supposed to be a part of the testing team, but he’s since been very involved and requested to assist in seeing this project through. One by one, they each put their hands on the scroll and begin slowly channeling chakra through the scroll, making the script light up as it’s activated. Iruka gives Kakashi one last glance from over his shoulder, one more bright smile, before also putting his hands on the scroll and adding his chakra to the mix.
For a few moments, everything seems to run smoothly.
Iruka’s the first one to feel that something is wrong. The seal is fighting back, something isn’t right, and he winces and turns to the woman beside him and says, “Back down.”
She nods, and passes the message on before slowly retracting her chakra and then fully pulling away and stepping back. The other three scientists around the table also pull away, but Iruka—
“Love, it’s going to—”
Iruka shakes his head. “I know,” he says. “Evacuate the room. Now.”
No one wastes any time getting out; no one’s sure what could happen if this seal were to implode. Kakashi is the last one, along with Cat and Boar, and he stands beside Iruka and studies the seal quickly. “Iruka—”
“It shouldn’t…” Iruka takes a slow, steadying breath. “It shouldn’t kill—”
“Don’t,” Kakashi whispers fiercely. “Don’t fucking talk like that. We’ll get you out of here. There has to be a way to shut this down.”
Iruka smiles sadly. “Once a seal has power, that power has to go somewhere, My Love. The script has its job to do. And it was never designed to kill.”
“That doesn’t mean it can’t backfire. Please, gods, let me at least… I can take your place.”
“No,” Iruka shakes his head. “You and your ANBU need to leave, and then I’ll release the seal. And whatever happens, happens.”
“I can’t lose you.”
Iruka leans back a little so his nose is against Kakashi’s temple. “You won’t. I’ll always be with you, okay? Through death and beyond, so long as love may last.”
Kakashi hugs him tight, rocks them both a little. “I’ll follow if you go,” he murmurs.
“In your own time,” Iruka says back softly. “I’ll wait for you, I promise.” He kisses Kakashi quickly, but Kakashi takes down his mask and turns the kiss into something hungry and deep and wet, pressing one hand into Iruka’s lower back and using the other to keep Iruka’s lips where he can kiss them. As Iruka kisses him back, he wishes desperately that he could also hold Kakashi in turn, but he can’t move his hands from the scroll without risking the seal imploding—or worse, exploding.
Boar clears his throat. “Rokudaime. I must urge you to listen to your spouse and evacuate.”
Kakashi leaves him with one last kiss on the cheek, a soft stroke of his fingers along Iruka’s face, and then he follows Boar out of the room. Cat moves to follow Kakashi, but Iruka speaks quickly and softly.
“Yamato?”
Cat stops, turns, lifts his mask. “Iruka, don’t—”
“Stop, just.” He takes a deep breath. “Don’t let him do anything rash. Please.”
Yamato frowns. “Ensure it yourself. You’ll be alright, I’m sure.”
“Yes, most likely I will be. But if I’m not…”
“Then we had all best hope that Naruto is ready to take over.” Yamato shrugs. “But it’s not going to happen because you will be fine, Iruka.”
Iruka nods shakily, and then Yamato replaces his mask. Cat follows his Hokage out of the building, and then it’s just Iruka and the scroll with the experimental seal, overloaded with chakra that he’s barely controlling.
He closes his eyes and lets go, hoping for the best, and knowing that he’s as prepared as he can be for the worst.
~
Kakashi has hardly stopped outside the laboratory when the explosion of chakra washes over the evacuated scientists. They all stop their soft chatter, stunned silent, and Kakashi’s stomach drops as he lurches forward to try and go back inside. Boar grabs him around his chest and Cat stops him with both hands on his shoulders.
“Trust him, Sempai,” Tenzo whispers, but once the flare-up is done and the air is calm again, Kakashi is flickering out of both of their holds and running back inside.
He barely registers going through the hallways of the laboratory, only searching for the room that they had been in before and hoping against all hope that Iruka is still alright. The door is shut tight, sealed from some combination of heat and expressed energy.
Chidori needs the Sharingan to aim. But at a point-blank range, does it really count as aiming? He lights his palm up and shoves it through the tempered glass. He climbs through the new opening in the door and looks around the lab, shouting for his spouse, “Iruka?!”
He goes around the table and finds—
“Oh, fuck, Iruka.”
—a smaller figure, swimming in the clothes that Iruka had been wearing. He’s careful as he turns them over, and gasps as he recognizes the facial scar, the softness of his hair, the sweetness of his features, but… but this is a child, someone in their teens; not the thirty-year-old man he is married to.
Iruka stirs in Kakashi’s arms, groaning and twisting his face up as he begins to wake.
“Iruka?”
He opens his eyes, and smiles up at him. “Kakashi,” he murmurs. “Is everything okay?”
Kakashi glances down at Iruka's much smaller body, back up to his clear and cognizant eyes, and realizes that although he may appear to be a teenager, Iruka remembers. And he decides to honor his promise to never lie to his spouse, whatever form he may take.
“No, Love. I don’t think so.”
