De Rolo Children Headcanons
Vesper- Vesper gained the intellectual side of both of her parents. She has an incredible knack for languages and speaks 5 by the time she’s 20. She’s got her fathers quick wit and her mothers intuition. She, like Vex, is smart with money. She’s devastating in a debate. In her free time she prefers more low stake activities though, usually reading or painting. She’s very close with Gwen despite the age difference and loves doing her hair and later her makeup.
Leona- Leona is her fathers child. She’s the one that gets Percy’s tinkering gene and love of science. She loves chemistry and making things. She’s much more of a tomboy than her two sisters and sometimes gets jealous of Gwen and Vespers relationship. She’s also the most stubborn and headstrong of the kids and it shows. She’s a bit of a hellion in her teen years. Oldest of the twins by a couple minutes and won’t let Wolfe forget it. Leona and Wolfe are close but not like Vex & Vax. They constantly bicker and play pranks on each other, but it’s a “no one picks on my twin but ME” kinda thing.
Wolfe- Acts much more like a Proper NobleTM than Leona. He’s much better at remembering all the little rules than her and tend to tease her at social events. Despite this he like hunting with his mother a lot and excels at archery. He’s very athletic in general but he sometimes struggles with his studies and gets insecure about not being as smart as his family.
Vax’ildan- His family calls him “Danny” for short. He’s the quietest of his siblings. He’s very intuitive and can usually get straight to the route of anything bothering his siblings and even his parents sometimes. He loves going out into the woods but he doesn’t really like killing the animals and actually ends up deciding to be a vegetarian, which his parents are understanding and happy to oblige. He and Vesper like to read book series together.
Gwendolyn- The sweetheart of the family, but not without her tricky side. She loves playing hide and seek in her siblings rooms and surprising them. She also loves playing dress up with Vespers things and having Vesper give her makeovers. She loves reading and plants and gets very excited when Auntie Keyleth visits. She’s more sensitive than her older siblings especially when it comes to her appearance or being “different” than the rest of her family. Percy and Vex are always quick to remind her she’s just as much their child as any of her siblings and absolutely beautiful. Even her siblings have agreed her being a teifling is off limits for teasing. Everyone in the family is a little extra protective of Gwen, which isn’t hard given she’s the youngest sibling by a lot. The age difference between her and Vesper is 11 years and 5 years between her and Danny.

Fanfiction commentary and recommendations: Lex Luthor´s ascend from supervillainy to fatherhood Part II (chapters 6 to 10)
For the (probably nonexistent) person who wants to know where to find the other parts:
Part I
Part III
Part IV
Part V
Part VI
Part VII
What follows is the commentary for the next few chapters. For the simple reason that i have not yet named it as part of why this fanfiction is so good: It has a pretty decent (read: for a normal person a quite long) chapter lenghth - perfect for just cuddling up somewhere with a mug of tea or any other hot beverage of choice and keep on reading. As the full lenghth of this fic has as of this day reached around 500k words and there are still 59 to go you, there is still quite a bit to discuss!
I do hope I don´t just regurgitate the story itself, but we´ll see how it goes.
I want to try to include some things that may count as spoilers. I´ll put the spoilers in using this:
So if you see this - there may or may not be a spoiler here but at least you can ignore the text if it important to you?
○○○••○○•••○○••○○○
Okay so there´s been a time jump between the fifth and sixth chapters. And what do we see? Danny as well as Lex struggling with a few important revelations.
The first one being Danny even realizing that: yes, he actually IS smart. Who would ever question that with the number of languagges Danny even speaks? And with all the knowledge he has about astrophysics? Or even how he is able to tinker with his parent´s weapons and actually understanding them? But no.
Our boy has been told he was the dumb one in the family for long enough, that is was an actual surprise for him to realize how well he has placed in his placement tests. And it does break my heart a little to know what must have gone down to behave like that …
But that´s only just really scratching the surface, isn´t it? Because what follows is Lex being a worried parent and realizing that his son has been left reeling with a realization.
Because Danny, now that school is about to start again, knows that he can´t just leave soon anymore. He has built somewhat of a life in this dimension. He as people he cares about. He´s about to continue his schooling here. And our boy? Has not wanted to think about the repercussions.
So here he sits. In his room. Devastated after months in this dimension because … he´s happy here. He´s happy and he doesn´t want to be happy. Doesn´t want to be safe because this? This isn´t home. And how my heart hurts when I read this.
A child should feel save at home. They shouldn´t be forced to literally fight for this sense of safety. But he was. And now all of this tension is just gone and it feels good and in a way he feels as if he´s betraying his family and friends. Which I completely understand. But - he should get to feel save too.
What I do find a funny kind of satisfaction in is just how Lex continues to bash Danny´s parents. Because as bad as it sounds: it´s all the truth. And that it is probably just makes it a much harder pill to swallow. Poor boy, but he´ll understand. Someday. Probably?
All in all: this chapter is just such a wholehearted conversation that I´m a bit sad to see it go. But it just gets better from there because it continues with a mind controlled superman and Danny deciding he´s got to do something about it. Which he does. By absolutely beating the living daylights out of him. Lex gets a very satisfying video out of it and by god, is the fight scene nicely written. Another wonderful little thing to point out is how lex explains to Danny how 'Superman´s been mind controlled again' and then just does not stop bashing him xD Wonderful scene tbh, i need more of snarky Lex!
After the fight? The Justice League gets CURIOUS. And a curious justice league? I don´t know if that would do Danny all too much good, not that they care at this point. He could be a danger after all.
And to be honest? I fear for the day they may try and interrogate Danny as Phantom. Though I have not yet decided if I fear more for Danny or the League. He´s slightly (very) unhinged after all.
Also: Danny lands on the news! And on Twitter! And oh my god, does Twitter have THINGS to say about the whole thing.
And boy oh boy - Twitter loves Danny! From his looks to his smarts and his relationship with Lex or his sassiness: everything gets discussed and it´s just so funny to see this happening from an outside point of view xD
What also follows is the funniest Twitter discourse i have seen in a while. It does include Danny non-stop snarking at Lex so it is an absolute win for me xD
Also: people find out about his and Cass´relationship and they are very enthusiastic about it. Or at least, that´s one way to put it xD
Even though it´s only friendship. For now. I swear to god they´re not gonna stay friends for long before they´re in a committed relationship with each other.
Which Bruce apparently also knows. He´s already plotting the shovel talk. Is it bad that i want to see that discussion go down?
Alfred just being the absolute sweetheart that he is being like 'Cassandra can can take care of herself silly son'. It´s just so wholesome?
And with that Arc I ENDS. And it was such a sweet arc :3 Full of heart for sure and the fun also did not get the short end of stick - superman got it instead xD
It´s not the end however as we get to the first interlude, which shows us how Jazz is dealing with the whole situation. 'Not good' may be an understatement to be honest.
She has to accomodate so many things: what her parents did to Danny, what they did (and also did not) do while they were 'raising' them, how to deal with the negelct and sometimes borderline abuse, how to deal with college and how to search for her brother without losing either herself or her connection to her friends and family…
What probably does not help is that his disappearance has created a rift between Tucker and Sam that seems to get worse as time goes on.
And Jazz? She seems lost. A classic case of older sibling syndrome, not furthered by her study into psychology. She´s spreading herself thin trying to help. Has been doing so for years at this point and to be honest? It feels as if she´s about to snap.
What she does feel for sure is lost. And i can relate. I really, really do. I mean i may not have been in such a dire situation yet (knock on wood), but … i can kind of feel her despair and sadness over these circumstances: She wanted to do more. To help more, but also to finally be free of this burden. She feels as if it´s her fault Danny died. That it´s her fault she couldn´t bring him back. And doesn´t that just mirror Danny´s whole 'I must save the town because i turned on the portal' sacrificial mindset?
The surely are much more similar to each other than they probably think. And if they are gonna see each other again? There are many tears and conversations to be had…

i'm trying to write out the highlights of last night without crying and/or just giving a play by play of the entire show, but here are my thoughts about starcatcher opening night 🩷
- seeing them standing all together when the curtain dropped was earth-shattering to me. i can't even tell you the amount of joy and excitement and emotion i felt seeing them like that.
- every single song from starcatcher was ten times better live. which means that the songs i didn't like before i love now, and the songs i liked already i have now sold my soul to.
- jake's outfit had me in a chokehold. could not stop talking about how hot he looked.
- josh coming out in the LA strange horizons outfit almost killed me, and then he was singing mtm on the catwalk under that spotlight, and he looked like an actual angel. like, otherworldly.
- nash strange horizons outfit my beloved :') that was my first gvf show and it was so special to have him wear that again!!
- jake and josh playing with the spotlights and goofing around and running back and forth on stage 😭 and sammy and jake playing back and forth on the bass and guitar 😭
- when josh said “before, tonight was just a dream; tonight, it is a dream come true” he is truly the sweetest most darling most precious boy ever
- josh said they might have some mistakes with the set (as he said, “what we in the business call fuck-ups”) and they did, i thought jake looked a little pissed at one point because his guitar was out of tune hehe but they recovered smoothly and made it a great show
- heat above was like a warm hug. the very first time i heard it was live, and that was a really good time of my life when i was first getting into gvf, and being able to sing it again with josh and everyone was like coming home to a place i had really missed.
- lover leaver???? when i tell you i could not have been more shocked. we shrieked and sang the whole thing.
- the only part i didn’t love was that everybody's attention was distracted during danny's solo, because everybody was watching the b stage instead of him. he killed it, and i loved his cute little dramatic swoosh to direct our attention to the b stage.
- the b stage being like a campfire sing along, sam piano, unchained melody, danny and jake joining them, danny guitar - unparalleled. it was so intimate and lovely, like getting a glimpse into the close bond they share with each other.
- anthem and flower power are like my white whales of gvf live songs, and i can't believe i got to hear one of them. i cried. we all cried.
- danny and josh singing woyaya together was probably my favorite moment of the whole night. there was something really tender about the two of them, big brother and little brother, singing harmony to josh’s special song. now it’s danny and josh’s special song :')
- the rainbow we did for josh during light my love, and the swaying together and singing, and josh getting emotional afterwards? devastating, truly.
- shirtless josh????? need i say more
- every time jake went towards the catwalk, he smiled. he's the cutest. he was so confident and happy and just glowing with it.
- also, the archer (extended version) ????? were those new lyrics?? i couldn't make out what was singing but we were freaking out
- we were like four rows away from the catwalk, and seeing jake and danny walk by to get back to the big stage was like “oh holy fuck they're real??”
- the stars and sparkles and fireworks and just everything about the stage setup was so magical and wonderful
- “farewell for now” felt really personal, like josh really meant that they had tried hard to make it a special night for us and were so happy to share it with us, and we meant it too when we sang it back. i love farewell for now as a tour tradition song that we and the boys are singing to each other.
i'll probably think of more, but for right now, those were the high points of the show for me. it was my third gvf show and absolutely the best one so far. it really felt like i was being welcomed home, like a reminder that life is full of joy and magic and music. it really was like seeing old friends and being asked to stay and talk a while. i'm so happy just to exist in the same time as josh, jake, sam, and danny. it's such a privilege to share in the magic of their imaginations, to be invited to sing and celebrate with them, to really know that they love us and we love them. everything about this show was a love letter, from them to us and from us back to them, and i’m so thankful to have been able to share that love with them and everybody who has been seen and shown love through their music 🩷

A Wish is Worth a Thousand Words AU Prompt
Tw: injury and brief mention of dissection
---------------------------------------------------------
This is another late night 4am au prompt rant so please excuse any typos or improper grammar cause my brain is so very soupy but I've had this concept in my head for months and thought I should share
In this au Danny and Dick are brothers separated at a young age most likely due to the Graysons just being unable to take care of another child at the time so Danny ends up being put up for adoption. Dick is the older brother but was young enough when Danny was born that he had no memory of ever having s brother.
Eventually Danny is brought onto Dick's radar while he's still a Robin. Maybe some incident occurs where Bruce wants to look into the Fentons or something which leads to the discovery and Dick is absolutely devastated that he never got to know his brother. So he does the only rational thing. He books it to Amity Park and slowly tries to work up the courage to tell Danny that he's his brother. With his research and steak out he discovers how terribly unsafe the Fenton's home is and wishes he and his brother were never separated lucky for him and not so lucky for everyone else a certain ghost genie hears this wish and grants it.
Now that they've never been separated Danny is one of vigilante's of Gotham by his brother's side. He and Bruce are really close due to processing the trauma of their parent's deaths in similar ways and life seems happy for them.
However Clockwork is scrambling. Without Danny becoming Phantom the timeline is doomed. So he has to get to work remedying the situation Desiree caused. Clockwork manages to rescue the Sam and Tucker from the previous timeline before they are completely erased and strikes a deal with them. Assist him in getting Danny to become Phantom and they get to stay in this timeline and live out their lives in peace instead of getting destroyed.
Sam thinks the task is simple enough find Danny, work up trust, tell him the situation and he's sure to help. But they stumble across a problem. Danny is doing well timeline. He's happy and healthy and loved without constant threat of dissection or getting attacked by those who should be protecting him. Sam doesn't have the heart to ruin that for him. Tucker on the other hand would feel bad but also it's for the greater good right? So they spend their time planning and learning things about this Danny. They pose as students in his school and become his friends. They also befriend Dick aswell. Slowly but surely they devise a plan to tell him but it actually never happens. Danny is injured in a fight one night and Clockwork uses this to his advantage taking the kid with amnesia and dumping him in Illinois. Sam is pissed but clockwork says its for the best and doesn't give her a chance to argue.
So Sam and Tucker continue their lives in Gotham. Meanwhile this timeline's Sam and Tucker befriend Danny in Amity and Danny becomes Phantom.
In Gotham Dick is left absolutely devastated. He won't rest until he finds his baby brother and brings him home safe and sound. But more and more time is passing and things are seeming less and less hopeful. Eventually tho Dick discovers an article about Phantom and what does he see? Sam and Tucker with this ghost that looks like his missing brother. But how? Sam and Tucker are here in Gotham with him. How are they in Illinois? Only one way to find out he goes to Illinois.
In Illinois he bumps into them and casually talks with them and they have no memory of him, but they definitely are Sam and Tucker. Things are getting weird and not adding up but then bam ghost attack! Eventually this leads to Robin finding Phantom injured in an alleyway and they talk. Robin helps Phantom by patching him up and tries to figure out if this is Danny which it clearly is!
The rest of this fic would probably be brothers getting to know eachother again, confrontations with Clockwork and Sam and Tucker and learning to accept what had occurred and manage time along with reconnecting with Bruce aswell. All in all lots of room for angst and found family stuff :D

“This person is a ice block to everyone but this one person who can melt them" no, you’re absolutely right and you should say it! It’s particularly poignant with them because as far as AR was concerned, Armand was meant to be or at least had all the characteristics of a villain until he met Daniel. He was supposed to join Akasha on her quest or something along those lines, but in meeting Daniel and falling in love with him in such a devastating way, he found salvation and regained a lot of his long lost humanity. It went beyond his curiosity over the wonders of the modern world. Through meeting this man, he was able to become his most human version yet. I think that’s why most people are drawn to their relationship as it was portrayed in the Devil’s Minion, because at its core it’s a story about two people in love, doing their best to navigate a relationship like people do. With some supernatural elements thrown in here and there. And a good dose of S&M lol. And I absolutely feel the same way about relating to Daniel’s desire to live forever and be able to see the world progress. It matches Armand’s need to understand everything around him so well too. Thank you for answering!
ANON, I'm in tears! That's so beautiful. I'd definitely heard that Armand was originally supposed to be a villain in QotD but I never really sat down and thought about how it was Daniel who changed the trajectory of his story. Not to mention the implications of what that says about how much Daniel helped humanize Armand and bring him back down to a place where he could find himself and finally be loved by someone who genuinely loves and wants him (Louis wanted him but then became too numb and detached to really be a partner, and Lestat... takes a while to get there.)
But Daniel sees Armand for the monstrous, inhuman creature he is and the curious, intelligent, fascinating person he is, and he loves all of him completely.
They really are just two people trying to navigate a relationship, complicated by the fact that one of them is human and would rather not be and the other thinks being human is the best state to be actually, what exactly is the problem with being alive? Do you know how I long to be alive, Daniel? And yeah, good amount of S&M and the fact that Armand is constantly killing people and Daniel finds it incredibly sexy when he smells like his victims and wears their clothes. (We are not here to kinkshame! You do you, Danny boy!)
And yeah, I totally get Daniel's desire to want to be immortal and leave the mortal world behind. I mean, have you seen it here lately? It's a mess. But you make a great point about how that desire to live a long time so he can see and experience new centuries totally echoes Armand's desire to become a man of the modern era. They really do have a lot in common.
Thanks again for the ask! I'm always happy to get stuff in my inbox, it makes my day. Sorry for the delayed reply, my job is making me work (totally unfair).

💥✨
Hello hello! Thanks for the asks! 😄
💥 What is one canon thing that you wish you could change?
SEVERUS SNAPE DID NOT DIE, HE DIDN'T, IT'S NOT ALLOWED.
✨️ Out of the comments you’ve received on your fics, what are two or three of your favorites?
Omg how am I meant to choose????? 🥺 I am so blessed to have such kindness directed my way and it all means so much to me! But let's see if I can pick out a few....
For Sunkissed:
Actually your comment on this one got me! 😂 As proof that my Snarry agenda is working!
OMG ARE YOU CONVERTING ME TO SNARRY??? Oh. Shit. Plums and Cocks, serious CMBYN vibes. Melting puddle over here. This was seriously one of the most delicious things I’ve ever read, I loved the melancholy, forbidden indulgence of it. You captured Severus in all his spiteful longing perfectly. Amazing writing, too. Thanks so much for sharing! <3
Truly, I am overjoyed 🤩
And some gems from triplevexed's comments:
this is BEAUTIFUL! your writing is so buttery (flows so so well) and gorgeously prosed. your severus in every iteration lives in my head rent free (the yellow door??? legendary.)
and
BUTTERYYYYYY. and like. luxurious like les pres sales. you have one of the most captivating proses i’ve ever encountered. it’s genuinely hypnotizing. you’ve made me have an even greater affinity for severus 🥺 and the way you handle complex matters with such nuance and beauty in works—-gahhhhh i could go on and on
Beyond flattered. I'm blushing just to copy/paste it here! 🤭
For A Matter of Time, from eldritcher (which....what do you do when one of your writing crushes loves on your work??)
The kaleidoscopic colours as Harry's nearest and dearest worry, and the sharp black-grey of his turmoil, and the crimson of how he was held in love and passion by a man who thought he'd all the time in the world: you've assembled your collage magnificently.
For Teardrop In Your Palm, also from eldritcher!
Oh, how utterly bewitching and unconscionable! You haven't spared a jot of wrongness in crafting this sublime confection of guilt and desire and folly. Your Scorpius is a revelation, what with his chaotic heart and mild pinpricks of morality.
For Contempt:
From BlueSundayCake:
this fic broke my heart in the best kind of way. It is absolutely devastating. I absolutely love your writing style, and I don't know that this story could have been told any other way. I'm still reeling from it and I want to sob and scream and scream again.
From Necromanticnoir:
Gaaaaaaaaaahhhh this is just the absolute essence of SNARRY *perfection* to me!!!
That one goes in with it's loveliness, but the start sums it up nicely and had me a puddle of blushing happy Danni.
From janezy:
This is haunting and devastating and terrible and fantastic all at once.
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GOING FOR!!
From Ms_SackvilleWest
This was one of the best stories I've read in years. Sometimes when I leave a comment on a work, I find myself littering it with adjectives and praise, but really, there are no words here. Still: your writing is so precise, so clear, so rich with meaning, so much like a dagger straight to the heart. I read this in one go, slowly savouring it, and I am left with a hole in my chest and a heart that clenches painfully. Thank you for a fantastic experience.
From inarticulateimbecile:
God, this is just peak Snarry.  I love the turmoil, the uncertainty, the futile smothering of Harry's yearning as he tries to cram himself into that perfect mold of what his future "should" be. The way you wrote those unwanted desires just slipping through the cracks in an almost stream-of-consciousness way is just... so on the nail. It really hits.
From Isabella_Diaz:
This is perfect, genuinely perfect, I can't even comprehend how something so beautiful, something so intense, something so painful that eats me inside could be so perfect. I have read many of your works, but I am not used to commenting in general, but I could not pass this work without writing anything, without explaining to you how you made me feel. I don't know how you manage so that in only 20k words you could represent so faithfully and with such precision how I see the snarry.
Another that goes on in its loveliness and truly makes me cry every time. So so touching for me, regarding the story so dear to my heart.
And sweet Cindle's comment!!!!
My GODDDDDDD!!!! Danni!!!!!!! This was SOOOOOO GOOD!!! It was breathtaking! And stunning! And i audibly gasped at the end, it ended in such a beautiful place! This is everything I’ve ever wanted from an infidelity fic. Your use of language- all the repeated phrases and the recurring imagery and motifs - were so poetically done, and I’ll be definitely rereading this- there were so many layers to your word choice and how you structured sentences, that I’ll definitely want to examine all these stylistic choices and see what i can learn from it to improve my own writing. It’s probably been like 15 or so years since i last read snarry, and I’m so so glad i picked up yours to read to break the spell. I kept seeing your meta about this fic on your tumblr, and of course Viran’s podfic, so i had to give this a try, and it! DID! NOT! DISAPPOINT!! This was so gorgeous, and i loved the Harry POV here with his big Harry heart even as he’s saying ‘i hate you’ to snape, this was such a rich and deep emotional journey, thank you for sharing this lovely work of art!! 💖
Again....I cry 🥺
And the ever lovely Krissy/sugareey:
I'm always so impressed with how smooth and flowy your stories are, Danni! The way Harry and Severus are...actions speak louder than words, and the amount of emotions that are churning in each of them is so apparent and yasssss. This is the dynamic I love about Snarry, because it's raw, complicated, and full of grey. What they have is ambiguous and it just works. That's the besst way I can say it.
Aaaand I cry again 😭
This is already too long but oh well I can't do Contempt and not Devotion.
So...for Devotion:
From lone_amaryllis:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH *be normal about this, be normal* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH (Sorry, I can't be normal, I tried)
Gave me a giggle and so much delight!
Also r0segard3n (who also gave such sweet love to Contempt!):
I knew you were writing severus' pov but i didnt expect it so soon I reread 'the fic' so so frequently that i know some lines by heart and im pretty sure i could recognize your writing anywhere
and
Im so hyperfixated on the original part of this fic and i know its weird but i can for sure say its my favourite piece of literature ever idk
Um, excuse me while I IMPLODE FROM SHEER JOY.
Also some truly touching words from more writer crushes and dear friends 😭
From perverse_idyll:
Okay, this will be short. It's three o'clock in the morning, I have to get up in four and a half hours for work, and I just finished reading Devotion. *deep breath* Jesus Christ. Just - words fail me. This is so brilliant. This is searing, and gorgeous, and addictive, and beautifully, intimately crafted. Not just surfaces, but crevices and hollows and heart's blood. Shame and filth and adoration and beauty. There is no stone of Severus left unturned. This story is an absolute stunner, and please forgive me, but I think I love it even more than its predecessor. Somehow the stakes feel higher, the cuts deeper, the emotions so complex and disturbing, so scorching and close to the edge of madness and self-destruction. And the language just pulls it out of me, the reader, and Severus, the character; language that's shimmering and vivid and intensely, perfectly vulgar. You have outdone yourself. This has just become one of my favorite Snarry fics of all time. It has breathed life back into the pairing and salvaged that terrible, damaged, fucked-up, irresistible spark of utter longing and sacrifice and mutual obsession that I crave more than anything from this ship. It's like a fever dream, and by the end there's no magical resolution and no one is absolved, but the emotional truth is out in the open now, and for a moment it feels less brutal and somehow more promising. They're surrounded on all sides by pain - pain inflicted, courted, invited, pain pending and hanging over them - but what's between them blazes with a private, sustaining knowledge. In each other's arms, they've finally learned to belong. The story earns and incarnates its title. It's the right place to end, with Harry and Severus embracing each other on the edge of a cliff, not knowing if they'll fall, not knowing what will happen to them, and still holding tighter. I hope to come back sometime in the next couple of days to be more coherent in my comments, but after being utterly submerged in this fic, I had to burst out with the first shock of excitement. Bravo. BRAVO. This is an absolutely riveting and heart-wringing piece of characterization, of visceral sexual connection, of love fighting for its life in the face of self-hatred. I really, really have to go to sleep now, but I can't wait until I have the chance to read this again. ❤️❤️❤️
Had to copy/paste that one in full cuz I'm still dying over it a bit.
And from the wonderful Writcraft:
Wow. This is an absolute triumph. I absolutely loved this raw insight into Severus, what he feels and experiences through the complexities of his interactions with Harry. The slow, steady burn and build of this story feels so authentic and in keeping with Severus as a character and you have captured his inner thoughts so precisely, with such care and attention to every detail. You can tell how much time has been spent on this universe and how you have such a clear understanding of where your characters are with their emotional turmoil, missteps and tentative moves forward and you accomplish the not easy feat of making this story read brilliantly as a standalone for those unfamiliar with Contempt and also give readers of Contempt something very different, whilst still keeping the threads of the universe clear and intact. Your writing is lush and poetic and I absolutely sank into this story and didn't want to come up for air. Wonderfully done. Bravo! <3
Okay so that was more than 2 or 3 🙈 Oops. What was I supposed to do???? I was too happy and excited and rereading all these comments filled me with such tremendous joy. Those from friends, from those I admire, and from lovely strangers. All of these stories are so special to me, especially Contempt and Devotion, so...it's just incredibly meaningful and truly, I cannot express enough how amazed I am and appreciative I am of people's generosity and kindness in taking the time to leave such sweet love. 🥰

Director’s commentary on fantasy (Vampire Pierre!) Pirales Ch. 2 when Max shows up. Or any moments in that fic about Maxiel! Love their background story in that fic!!!
Hi Anon!
So, I have written a little bit about the Maxiel part of this storyline in another ask, but I want to talk specifically about the Pierre/Max relationship.
Max is not a fan of Pierre as a human.
Like, the whole concept is really off-putting to him for many reasons.
To begin with, he really loves Charles. Charles made sure he was safe after he and Danny bonded and that means something to Max. He's unfailingly loyal so Charles falling in love with a human (and a dying one at that) is something that really makes Max resent Pierre even though he's absolutely conscious that it's ridiculous for him to feel that way.
And then, of course, Charles doesn't remember any of them and that is probably the most devastating thing that Max has ever had to go through - even the loss of his relationship with his father.
He chose Danny and they're very happy together and now he has a relationship with his mom and his sister and that means so much to him, but Charles was his brother and now he doesn't even recognize him? Because he went and fell in love with a human? And then was injured trying to save the human? And then he got stuck with the human?
Max unfortunately starts to really care about Pierre because...well he's very sad and he's trying so hard and he's fighting them all to get back to Charles so.
And then remember, Max is the one who told Pierre where to find Charles.
My own personal headcanon is that Max had been flying to Seattle semi-regularly - swinging through every time he was close - and checking up on Charles just in case he saw him and everything came flooding back.
Max kind of accepted that they needed Pierre. That if anyone could reach Charles, it would be Pierre.
So, he tries to take care of him the best he can even though it's hard for him.
He checks on him. Makes sure he's fed. Makes sure he's not doing anything too hard on himself.
And, of course, Max and Danny basically move in with Charles and Pierre while they become foster parents to the magical babies of the USAmericans :-)

Norman, Herbert, Predator, & Danny Torrence with an s/o who learns they are infertile?
Norman
Tumblr media
Absolutely devastated with the news you bring home to him and will cry right alongside you if not harder. Being able to start a family with you was his ideal way of tying the knot with you and having you belong to him, literally. Sharing and creating life between the two of you and having something to carry on. Out the window.
He doesn't blame you, of course not, but needs some time to himself to process this as well. When the two of you get the news he does nothing but hold and comfort you in his arms, shushing and cooing as you sob with him. He'll be by yourself the entire need if you need him but he needs it just as much.
Norman, surprisingly, is okay with adoption at this point. While is wasn't necessarily a want for him prior to the news he understands its the only path to starting and raising a family, and he's ready to go down that path whenever you're ready.
Herbert
Tumblr media
Herbert hurts for you the most in this situation. While he wasn't quite ready or willing to have kids anytime soon he knew it was something that you thought about nonetheless and was slightly open to the idea. Of course now he won't have to worry about the stress of young ones he is worried about how you're going to hold up.
He isn't all too well with handling his own emotions let alone someone else's, so the best he can do for you is show you that he's taken time away from the lab to spend it with you. There is nothing more he hates not being able to control is your stress and crying when you think about it and does his best to comfort you.
Soon the severity of your pain will hit him when he does realize that kids could have been a possibility he would consider, but for now he takes his time tucking you snuggly into the bed and carries his paperwork over into the bed so he can watch over you while you sleep.
Yautja
Tumblr media
While it is devastating to not be able to produce his own hybrid offspring eventually, adoption is very common in their species, so he isn't too worked up about the news when you originally bring it to him. However, once he realizes how distant and on edge you are he understands just how much this hurts for you.
He does everything in his time with you for the next few days to make you as comfortable as possible. It's no problem to put aside duties for the week that he can easily make up in a few hours if that means you get to feel a bit better. In this time you can cry to him and he'll hold you in his chest and take you for a quiet walk.
Your Yautja, again, is very open to the idea of adoption and is willing to have something put in place immediately if you'd like to begin raising. On the other hand, he also understands if you'd like to raise a human child as well and is willing to learn alongside you just how to do that, whenever you're ready of course.
Danny
Tumblr media
It's hard for Danny to hear, yes, but he doesn't feel much at first and it will take some time to really settle in. He's incredibly upset for you and will be for himself when the time is right. Oddly, Danny is a bit relieved that the child wouldn't be directly related to him in anyway for the fear of passing any of his, his fathers, or his grandfathers traits, but raised right, they would be a lovely child in a healthy home.
He calls out of work easily, his coworkers adored your visits and felt for you as well and gave Danny all the time he needed to spend with you. If all you wanted to do was stay in bed he would gladly lie there with you, holding you close to him as you slept lightly. Abra senses something's wrong as well and frequently sends you happy little messages on the chalkboard
However, he really encourages you to get up and move a bit. He'll make breakfast and set it on the porch for the two of you to eat and coax you to talk a walk with him around the block. It's just the right amount of busy and quiet to get you outside and calm. While he wasn't necessarily ready to start a family he does ensure that the two of you will always have Abra, who you do frequently babysit.

Psycho Analysis is a series that looks at villains across various media in the hopes of coming to something of a consensus on the overall quality of the character. Are they performed well? Do they enrich the narrative? Are their motives fleshed out? Are they voiced by Tim Curry and thus a sex icon?
There are a lot of important questions that I look into, but ultimately, Psycho Analysis boils down to asking one simple little question: How bad can a character be?
Thankfully, there’s one villain who decided to answer that question for me... in song form.
Psycho Analysis: The Once-ler
Tumblr media
(WARNING! This analysis contains SPOILERS!)
Yeah, I’m finally talking about everyone’s favorite greedy bastard who, back in some of the darkest days of Tumblr history, ended up being the premier sexyman on the website. People were thirsting over this twiggy weirdo, acting as if he were God’s gift to women and shipping him with alternate versions of himself. Much like the movie he’s from, he is now incredibly hard to take seriously.
But hey, speaking of alternate versions of himself, I’m going to be covering him from the original book and the animated short film as well. Might as well just knock it all out of the park at once, right? Now let’s see how ba-a-a-ad this guy can be.
Motivation/Goals: The Once-ler is all about biggering. He’s making thneeds (things that everyone needs) and he is gonna stop at nothing to craft these things. Not even the power of the Lorax, Danny DeVito or otherwise, is going to stay his hand from getting that sweet, soft Truffula fluff to make his wares. This is ultimately a little unrealistic, at least for the Illumination version; if Danny DeVito asked me not to do something, I’d listen, no questions asked.
Performance: In the animated special, Bob Holt does double duty, as he is portraying both Once-ler and the title character. It works really well for what they’re going for, and the double casting is interesting because it highlights the ultimate role of the Lorax as the Once-ler’s conscience given form.
In the film, Ed Helms portrays the Once-ler, and he’s fine. He’s certainly better casting than Audrey, but that’s not particularly saying much considering that’s a non-singing Taylor Swift (when Cats is able to utilize Taylor Swift better than your musical, you know there’s trouble). I don’t know, Ed Helms is fun and all, but I’m just not sure his take on the Once-ler is all too compelling overall.
Final Fate: In the original book and the special, the Once-ler wins… but even he realizes it’s a terrible, pointless victory, and all he has achieved is ruin, his family leaving him, his business ultimately collapsing, and the environment permanently damaged. He’s left as a miserable, jaded hermit, broken by the bleak consequences his greedy actions have sown upon the world and only able to tell his story and pass on the last Truffula seed in the hopes that maybe, maybe someday the trees can regrow and the Lorax will return. The Illumination version follows this but then tacks on a happy ending  where the Lorax and Once-ler reunite because as we know ambiguity and bittersweet endings cannot exist in children’s films.
Best Scene: Obviously it’s the scene where he shakes his ass to seduce Jack Frost, in one of the greatest gay romances ever put to film.
Tumblr media
Joking aside, it is undoubtedly his villain song. It has become such a meme, but real talk? “How Bad Can I Be” slaps. This is a really good song, probably too good for the movie but you know what, I’ll take it.
youtube
Best Quote: HOW BA-A-A-AD CAN I BE? Yes, I’m using a line from his villain song. Sue me.
Final Thoughts & Score: What can one really say about the movie version of the Once-ler that hasn’t already been run into the ground? Well, how about… He’s not too bad, honestly? Like, yes, he has next to nothing to do with his book counterpart and they really go way too far into trying to make a capitalist pig sympathetic… but the animated special from the 70s did that too. I think the Once-ler honestly works better when there is a dash of complexity to him and he isn’t just a simple-minded Captain Planet villain.
Of course, the issue here is that the 70s version took a simpler approach, kind of less is more. The 70s Once-ler brings up some valid points to the Lorax about his work, and the Lorax can’t help but agree that there’s no easy answer while also stressing that the environmental devastation is still really, really bad. It works, it feels complex, and it arguably helps the ultimate point that we need to protect the environment better than even the book did (and I love the book, don’t get me wrong, but its take on the Once-ler is a bit too simple for its own good; it almost runs into the Femme Fatale problem by being a bit too much of a strawman). The movie version has a bit too much going on, especially with his family. His family are much more blatantly evil, greedy, and manipulative, but they’re relegated to the background for much of the film and don’t effect things all that much. The whole narrative would have been infinitely stronger if they were the greater scope villains behind Once-ler and were who needed to be defeated and maybe taught a lesson, but instead they are ignored in favor of someone I’ll address very shortly.
All of this leaves movie Once-ler feeling extremely disjointed, but not irredeemably so. As I said before, his villain song is unironically awesome, and as lame as it is compared to the more haunting, contemplative ending of the book and the special, I’m not so much of a curmudgeon that I didn’t at least smile when he finally reconciled with the Lorax. Ultimately though, him being memed to death really didn’t help his case, but it means I’m not giving the movie version anything less than a 3/10. He might in fact be the best “so bad it’s good” villain ever, or at least up there. He’s just so undeniably enjoyable even if the narrative isn’t making him as complex as it thinks it is. The animated special version gets a 9/10, the book version is a 7/10, and the Once-ler’s family gets a 5/10 for being an interesting concept they sadly do little with, which will now be elaborated on as I follow up on the foreshadowing from the last paragraph...
Psycho Analysis: Aloysius O’Hare
Tumblr media
Remember how I said the Once-ler’s family gets ignored in favor of someone else? Here he is, Aloysius O’Hare, one of the absolute lamest villains ever put to screen.
Motivation/Goals: He’s greedy. That’s it. I’m not kidding. He’s just a cartoonish caricature of a rich person, which still makes him a realistic portayal but also makes him boring as sin compared to the wacky dude with a big musical number about how bad he can be.
Performance: Rob Riggle does a decent job, but there’s really not much for him to work with here. This character is a cardboard cutout who exists to be as cartoonishly greedy and evil as possible with no nuance so the kids know who to root against and so that Once-ler doesn’t look bad in comparison.
Final Fate: Look, he’s a blatantly evil corporate villain in a kid’s movie about the environment. Of course he gets defeated and everyone turns on him. What’s especially funny though is that, on the brink of learning his lesson, he rejects any form of redemption and just goes whole hog on being a villain.
Best Scene: I will absolutely give him this: in the face of his ultimate defeat, after having the virtues of trees sung to him and the entire town turning on him, he for a moment contemplates turning over a new leaf… and then absolutely rejects the thought and instead decides being evil is just too much fun, at which point he tries to get everyone back on his side by seeing a funny little song about death while wavedashing. If more shitty villains did this, I don’t think there would be shitty villains.
Tumblr media
Best Quote: LET IT DIE, LET IT DIE, LET IT SHRIVEL UP AND DIE! Yes I’m quoting a song again.
Final Thoughts & Score: Look, I’m not gonna mine words here: O’Hare sucks. Big time. He is a prime example of why The Lorax failed as an adaptation. In a story that is dealing with a moral grayness with no easy answers, O’Hare is just a big, blatant target, a dark shade of black in terms of black-and-white morality. He’s like a reject Captain Planet villain with Edna Mode’s haircut.
The movie would have been infinitely better if, instead of him, the Once-ler’s family were in control of the town, and they needed to learn the lesson about saving the trees instead of simply vanishing from the story. They were shown to be overbearing, manipulative, and greedy, and they had a much more personal connection with Once-ler being, you know, his actual family. The fact they abandon him and never really get any sort of comeuppance despite being perhaps the most evil people in the move, egging on Once-ler and taking full advantage of him, makes O’Hare all the more egregious, because there could have been some strong thematic elements that would have tied the film together and made it come off as much less preachy and more nuanced.
Tumblr media
But we don’t live in a world where that happened, we live in a world where we got O’Hare. Aside from some genuine hilarity from him at the end, O’Hare really adds very little to the film. I gotta give him a 2/10, but I will say he’s a lot closer to a 3 than he is to a 1; there’s no denying his absolute rejection of learning a moral is absolutely hilarious. I love when villains do that. It’s just a shame those funny moments are wrapped up in something monumentally unimpressive.

Richard Armitage interview on BBC Radio London for Uncle Vanya (25/10/20)
Full transcript under cut
Just a couple of days ago I was lucky enough to chat to Richard Armitage. He’s best known of course for roles in The Hobbit, Ocean’s 8, Hannibal, and of course, I was obsessed, absolutely obsessed on Netflix with The Stranger. Well, he’s about to star in the multi- Olivier-nominated play - in fact that’s tonight! We’ll find out if they win. Uncle Vanya – it’s filmed at the Harold Pinter Theatre during the pandemic, and uh, it’s incredible, it’s an incredible piece of theatre, and we’re all going to be able to watch it, which is a joy. And this is what we chatted about.
What a pleasure to speak to you for a number of reasons, because we can actually talk about how to bring theatre back to people’s lives, ‘cause I’m missing it desperately, but also talk about The Stranger. Let’s talk about Uncle Vanya first-
Yes.
-if we may.
Yes, of course.
Wow. What an incredible thing to do. Thank you for doing this, actually.
Yeah, I mean it was uh, kind of heart-breaking when we had to y’know, end our run six weeks early, and uh, the play was taking on so many kind of resonances of what we were living through, unexpectedly really. I, we thought the play was about, y’know, a man losing his livelihood, and then y’know, as, as the virus started to come into our lives and uh, the play started to change course really. So, and then, to sort of live through lockdown as well did and then come back to the play realising that’s exactly what these people have been doing, they’ve been stuck in a house together from summer through to the winter and going out of their heads. It again, it took on a whole other sort of energy, so a real privilege to be able to do that.
I mean, it is extraordinary when these old stories feel so relevant, and something a lot of people know, for people who don’t know something about it, we should explain a little bit about the story, but it feels like you’re talking about a story from today.
Well, it does. I mean, the fact is that Uncle Vanya, he’s the caretaker of this old estate and uh, he’s worked his entire life, um, supporting a property that’s not his, and then y’know, the owner who’s raised his daughter, Vanya’s raised his daughter for him, comes and says “right, I’m selling the estate for my retirement, um, and you’re all, you’re all out”. And it’s this devastating realisation that everything that he’s worked for is being snatched away from him. At the same time, y’know, my character is a doctor who is living through, trying to save patients during an epidemic, and uh, not handling it very well and turning to drink. And he’s also trying to save his little corner of the world that, y’know, is being deforested, so he’s planting trees and realising that the environment has such an impact on our health, um, *laugh* so it literally could’ve been written yesterday, um, and this was over a hundred and twenty years ago, so y’know, they knew. There was a huge movement in Russia at that time about, um y’know, how to, how to survive, and how to deal with the environment, and we seem not to have heeded any, any advice, really.
We, we never do though, do we? We seem never to.
Not really.
Well, many people don’t seem to. As you said, it just feels so relevant today. So when you, it must have been heart-breaking being in the show, the buzz was extraordinary, it was impossible to get tickets for. This way, I have to say, all the people who couldn’t get tickets, now we can all see it. I’m one of those people who couldn’t get tickets, as you can gather from what I’ve just said. Um, friends of mine went and said, “You’ve GOT to go!” but this is an incredible way to bring theatre to people who, like me are missing it desperately, and many other people who might not have gone to the theatre, who don’t live in London, who couldn’t have seen a show like this, so there is a plus side. I’m always looking for the plus side, I think. *Laugh*
Me too. I mean, I’ve always said that when a play is coming to the end of its run, putting together a film of it, and even a, a sort of audio recording of the play, I think is like an exit package. It’s worth doing for-
Yes.
-like you say, people that can’t go to the theatre, or maybe wouldn’t go the theatre because it’s like, y’know, it might be too expensive for them, and a cinema ticket’s a bit cheaper, they might be able to watch it on telly at some point. But y’know, hopefully they might watch it and think, ‘Oh God, that, that looked really good in the room, maybe I’ll go the theatre when it’s back’. But uh, either way, it’s still just great story-telling, and y’know right now I think everybody sort of wants to disappear into a, into a tale, and uh, hopefully, hopefully they’ll feel brave enough to go and see it in the cinema.
What does it feel like? I mean you’ve, obviously you’ve been in so many award-winning shows, what does it feel like when you’re, you’re waiting to hear? I mean they’ve all, there’s a number of Olivier awards that it’s up for, everyone was talking about this. Once again you were in something that everyone was talking about. Do you, do you feel slightly one step removed? I mean, The Hobbit, and obviously The Stranger, as you can tell I’ve got to go there because I LOVED it, I devoured it.
*Laugh*
Um, what does it feel like being on the outside of everybody talking about something that’s so - that’s such a part of you?
Um, to be honest, with – at the time that it’s happening, I, I sort of close my ears to all of that-
Oh, I love that. *Laugh*
-and try to live in it, rather than outside of it. That, that’s none of my business. But I do, I do pay attention after it’s over, and I love – y’know, I prefer hearing other people’s opinion of it, rather than reading about it myself, so, so I do enjoy the feedback. But when you’re in it, you’re in it. And to be honest with, with Uncle Vanya, we could tell that we were doing okay because the audience would let us know, and y’know that, the very, very first preview was such a kind of electric performance, and the audience were, were kind of laughing all the way through, which we hadn’t had in a rehearsal room. So that feeling is, is very, very precious, and uh, it continued like that through the run. But uh yeah, I tend not to sort of uh, pay too much attention while it’s happening, if you know what I mean.
Yeah, don’t read – everybody was saying-
No, I don’t read the reviews. *Laugh*
Do you REALLY not?! I bet you do sneakily sometimes.
I really don’t. I, I did it once, and it was – I y’know, I read one tiny miniscule negative thing about myself, and it was the only thing I remembered. And so I thought, ‘that’s a good lesson’. Don’t read the good stuff, don’t read the bad stuff. Read it at a later date, but at the time it does not help me.
Okay, alright. Well, I’ll tell you, they were all fabulous. Congratulations. All the reviews, absolutely incredible.
*Laugh* Thanks.
*Laugh* I cannot wait to see this. Now let’s talk about, if we may, The Stranger. I might have mentioned it a few times already in the past few minutes-
*Laugh*
-but it was one of those things I actually, I couldn’t stop. I loved it, I devoured it. And I sort of became slightly obsessed with it, it was BRILLIANT. Did you feel that when you were making it?
Yeah, and you know, again I, I was sort of in the middle of it, so I’m sort of focusing on the character’s journey, but Harlan Coben’s writing is very much in that vein – if you’ve ever read one of his books-
Yes, I have.
-you, you literally can’t put it down, and you can’t wait for, for bedtime so that you can pick it up again, and sometimes you, you get to the last chapter and you sort of, you think, ‘I’ve gotta space this out, ‘cause I’m just gonna devour the whole thing’-
Yes!
-so his writing matches that kind of uh, television format brilliantly. But I love it, and I, I loved what uh, Danny Brocklehurst did with that script. Y’know, he, he sort of elevated the book, and made it a kind of, much more kind of woven drama. So yeah, I love working on that kind of thing. And that is the type of TV that I will, I will watch on a personal taste level.
You’re happy to watch yourself?
No, I- *laugh*, I never watch myself, but I-
I like that, no please say that-
No, I- *laugh*, I never watch myself-
-I know that’s not what you meant, but that, it just sounded lovely that you’re happy to watch yourself in that one.
It, ugh, I haven’t yet, but I-
*laugh*
-I will eventually, *laugh*, um but it’s the kind of TV that I do, I do love watching. But no, again I’m, I’m not a good judge of myself, and ageing on screen is a REALLY hard thing to do.
You can watch that one, I promise you. Um-
Can I?
-may we go back to a part of your past that is, I’m fascinated by, that you – it was about music and musical theatre.
Mmm, yes.
And then you suddenly thought that that wasn’t enough for you, was that right?
Yeah, I mean I – it was at a time when there were, y’know, all of the big musicals were happening in the West End, and I, I saw kind of peers that would kind of move between Les Misérables, and then they’d go into Miss Saigon, and then they’d go into Phantom of the Opera, and I felt like I didn’t really want to, to follow that path. And I just felt that I wasn’t good enough, a good enough practitioner of either dance or song to, to feel that it was gonna be a sort of, that it was gonna have longevity for me, so I was already studying at the actor’s centre, and then I thought, y’know, I’ve gotta just y’know, go back to drama school and start again and do a classical training. ‘Cause that was the thing that was really exciting me. Um, and I’m glad I did it, but y’know, I still feel like in the future I might y’know, pick up that old hat again.
YES!
Yup.
That’s what I was going to ask! ‘Cause I’m a – I love theatre, hugely, as the way you can probably gather from the way I was talking at the beginning, um, but musical theatre is, I think, a very magical thing. And I think it’s possibly something that we all need as well, right now.
I agree.
So if you could – imagine – I’ve got a magic wand, okay?
Yeah? *Laugh*
And I am a magical music theatre fairy.
Yeah.
I could actually sing this bit, ‘cause I love musicals – *singing* “now you can do a theatre show”-
*Laugh*
No, I won’t sing it. Um, so you can do any theatre show on the planet-
Yup.
-any musical theatre. Which one is it, Richard?
Okay, so when we were doing our little warm-up before Uncle Vanya, Aimee Lou Wood and I used to sort of joke and fantasize about maybe doing Cabaret.
*gasp* Oh, yes!
Shall we, shall we send that out to the gods of the universe of theatre, to Aimee Lou Wood as Sally Bowles-
Oh, you can practice, practice, do a little bit-
-she’s got a GREAT voice.
Go on, just do us a little bit.
*Laugh* I can’t.
Oh, he’s not gonna do it, are you?
*Laugh*
I’ve made you – I can tell you’re blushing, which is great because I’m at one end of the computer and you’re at the other end of a computer-
You could do it, you sound great!
No, no, no, no.
Do you sing?
No, I’ve done it. Yeah, no, no. But musical theatre is a magical, magical thing, and I just – I, I love the fact that you’re open to all of that.
Definitely.
Now, let’s go to New Zealand on our next bit of travels. Um, what an incredible place to be for such an extraordinary film. I mean, The Hobbit, and everything that entailed, changing – I mean, for other people I’ve spoken to who were in any of The Hobbits, they all say that they felt it was such a MASSIVE part of their life, and they learnt so much doing it.
Yeah, I mean I never dreamed in a million years that I, I would get an opportunity to work on a project like that. And to work, y’know – I was a huge Tolkien fan for a start, and then when I saw Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings, I was just, I was obsessed with it. And it’s not one of the reasons I pursued it, it kind of came to me, and I felt like ‘Gosh, why does he want me to play a dwarf?’ but um, getting the chance to go that country for so long, and work with that cast and him, and be completely kind of, sort of disappear into a, into a sort of a world and a character. And to be taken in a helicopter to the top of a mountain and, and y’know, shoot in places where human feet haven’t trodden – you know, it was, it was life-changing, it really was. And apart from the success of the films, which was a whole other thing, the actual experience of doing it was, it was unbelievable.
Aw, well, listen Richard, thank you. It’s such a pleasure to talk to you, I could talk to you for ages. And I can’t wait to come and see you in Cabaret. And congratulations-
*Laugh*
-on Uncle Vanya. Pleasure to speak to you.
Thank you very much.

On Vlad...
I feel like it would have been really cool to have Danny originally trust Vlad. Danny doesn't know that Vlad hates Jack and Vlad uses that to his advantage
Like, Danny would be so happy to have someone like him. Vlad takes him under his wing and teaches him how to control his powers. At the same time, Vlad hopes that this will make Danny want him as a father figure instead of his real father.
And when Danny finds out, he's just absolutely devastated. The one person in the world that could understand him, and the one he trusted, wants to kill his father.

My Dear Pet
OK SO.. Uhmm.. how should I explain this.. This is a ROLE REVERSAL AU and well.. just read. Maybe it’ll become clear.
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Phantom Blood
Dio Brando x Fem!Reader
Summary: Upon arriving to the Joestar mansion with the intention of becoming a part of the family, your eyes immediately notice a certain blonde noble who catches your attention.
Notes: Role reversal AU, Spoilers for part 1, VERY suggestive themes and language
The carriage you are seated in comes to a stop when you finally reach your destination. Looking through the small window you can see the Joestar manor in all it’s glory. This “glorious” sight makes you scoff and you swing the door open, throwing your suitcase on the ground, which catches the attention of the two males in front of you. Under their curious gazes you gracefully jump out of the cramped wagon and land on the ground like an agile cat. Just a small action to prove your superiority.
When your sharp eyes fall on the blue haired boy -which you assume to be Jonathan Joestar-, he looks confused but quickly an expression of realization dawns on his face. “You’re (Name) (Surname), right?” A smug, self-assured grin appears across your lips. At least this noble brat has some manners. Even if he didn’t he’d soon know your name very well. “And you must be Jonathan Joestar,” you say, voice coated with a layer of false kindness. The sight of this pampered boy makes you disgusted. He has no idea how real life works.
“Everyone calls me Jojo. Nice to meet you,” Jonathan turns to the blond boy next to him, who wears an admittedly charming smile on his face. “This is Dio Brando, he’s a member of the Brando household.” The introduction awakened a certain curiosity in you. You had heard of the Brando family more than you had of the Joestars but knew how close the families were. Dio politely took one of your hands in his and gently kissed the back of it, an action which amused you greatly.
“A pleasure to meet you, Ms. (Surname). I hope you enjoy your time here.” The way his strangely sharp eyes looked at you twisted something inside you and made you even more curious about the boy in front of you. “I do believe the pleasure is all mine, Mr. Brando.” You flashed him a smirk which he immediately caught with his amber orbs. That smirk only grew when you noticed a faint wash of pink on his cheeks.
Jonathan’s highly obnoxious remarks of his dog you barely even looked at went unheard as your gaze remained on Dio. There was something.. Alluring about him. He didn’t radiate that same agitating noble boy’s energy as Jojo did, instead, he looked free in a way. The refreshing aura of freedom surrounded him and despite his sharp, cunning eyes the gaze within them was gentle and kind. It was as if he wasn’t meant to be a noble.
Your (E/C) eyes suddenly catch Jonathan’s dog running at you. A vicious snarl creeps on your face and with one swift movement, you mercilessly collide your knee with the snout of the animal. How dare Jonathan let his disgusting mutt get close to you? Danny lets out a whimper and falls to the ground, shaking from the pain. Serves him right. Both of the males gasp in shock and Jonathan is quick to defend his companion.
“What was that for?!” You respond to his pathetic attempt to defy you by glaring at him with eyes that are burning with increasing toxicity. So this was the heir to the Joestars? He was merely a pampered brat, undeserving of the fortune awaiting him. Your goals were absolute and you would not let this fool get in the way of your plans. You would succeed and your hunger for power would not be quenched and you would do anything to ensure your position as the true heir of the Joestars. No matter what.
~
Just as you expected, defeating Jonathan wasn’t going to be easy. However with the help of a few fake rumors and other lies you were able to destroy his chances with Erina and completely obliterate his friendship with Dio. Just a tiny bit of intimidation to make the girl keep her mouth shut and just a small false rumor about Dio stealing her first kiss was all it took. Jojo had no friends anymore and you were more than happy to serve as Dio’s source of comfort, all the while your true nature was hidden behind a facade. Of course Erina told Jonathan the truth but it was too late for the male to repair his friendship with Dio and was devastated to see him call you his beloved.
For all these years you had maintained your innocent sister’s act and you were finally approaching the end. Soon, your father would die due to a sudden illness that was actually caused by your scheme and the family fortune would finally be yours. However you were a fool to think that it would all go smoothly as your dear brother who had caught glimpses of your mischievous eyes and the feigning tone of your voice, found out about your plan to assassinate your father. And upon confronting you about it, his suspicions were proven correct and he set out to find the antidote for the poison.
Damn that Jonathan. You were so close. You had thought that the thugs on that merciless Ogre Street would’ve finally put an end to the nuisance known as Jojo, but just like a bothersome cockroach, he came back unscathed and with your true intentions revealed, was ready to send you behind bars. But luck was on your side and the moment the spikes of the stone mask pierced your skull, you  transcended humanity and obtained that inhuman power you didn’t even know you were longing for.
~
Your lips curl into a smirk that reveals the tiniest portion of your newly acquired fangs as your brainless servants bring yet another human to your lair. This time however, the mortal brought into your impressive throne room of the dark castle was someone you knew far too well. With a single wave of your clawed hand, you dismiss your servants, leaving you alone with the golden haired man.
“Dio.. What a surprise..” Your low, honeyed voice reaches his ears and he lifts his gaze to look at you, wearing an expression that is a mixture of confusion and -quite surprisingly-, fear. Judging by the condition he’s in; filled with bruises and cuts, bringing him here wasn’t an easy task and the thought of him being a feisty little pet amused you.
“(Name).. W-what is going on?” He looks around him, the unknown surroundings coating him in a layer of nervousness and uneasiness. You let out a playful yet highly sinister chuckle that makes every hair in Dio’s body stand up, his amber eyes locked on your new form. Your slow footsteps echo around the open room, your smirk never fading and your (E/C) feasting on the sight of your lover on his knees. He looked like a lost puppy that was begging for assistance.
“Why do you look so frightened, my dear? Does my new appearance intimidate you?” Once you’re in front of him, you lower yourself to his level and gently caress his face with your claws. Dio notices the sharp fangs in your mouth and immediately remembers the events that occurred moments before his capture.
Jonathan had come to him, frantically trying to warn him about you as he found out that you had managed to survive the fire and he didn’t listen. He couldn’t possibly believe such foul talk about his lover, but now understands exactly what his friend was referring to as the (E/C) eyed monster stared at him.
“He.. He tried to tell me.. Jojo-” His monologue is cut short by your hands grabbing a fistful of his hair and tilting his head back. The sight of his exposed neck excites you, however you must resist the urge to taste his delicious blood for just a bit longer.
“Do not mention that name whilst in my presence..” Jonathan had interfered with your plans far too many times and the mere mention of his name was enough to make you want to rip apart the person who dared to let that name slip. However with Dio, it was different. He had shown undying love and devotion to you and it would be a shame if you lost that devotion. However this didn’t mean that your pet’s miscalculation would go unpunished.
“My dear, Dio..” You gently run your hand across his cheek, the other still keeping a firm grip on his soft locks. “You still love me, don’t you? After everything I’ve done for you..” You say, referring to the time when you comforted him about losing his friend which you caused, trying to manipulate him. It didn’t matter what he thought, though. He wasn’t going to escape. You had grown far too attached to the attractive golden haired man and you wouldn’t let him go.
You press your lips against him and notice him kissing you back, which makes you somewhat delighted. However you weren’t stupid and as soon as Dio tries to push you to the ground in an attempt to overpower you and possibly increase his chances of escape, you deny his attempt and he is the one who ends up on the ground, your form hovering above his. Your pet was misbehaving. Adorable.
“Let me make something very clear, my darling..” Your lips find their way dangerously close to his ear as you hold him in place. Under normal circumstances this wouldn’t have been possible but thanks to your new abilities, you were able to physically overpower even someone like Dio. Your hand runs along his chest, gently tracing the flesh under his shirt.
“You belong to me now.. There’s nothing you can do..” Your light touches make Dio’s heart pound faster and something that to you sounds like a moan escapes his lips. You take this as an early sign of submission and look at him with an intense gaze. “Now be a good boy and do as I say and I might heal your wounds..” Your cold hand caresses his face again, however you’re still unsatisfied with the gaze he gives you, as it lacks the submission you were looking for.
Your claws move to his neck and you break the skin, causing the man below you to groan in pain an discomfort. “Who do you belong to, Dio?” You inquire, refusing to stop until those words leave his mouth. He pants and gasps, realizing that there’s no stopping you unless he bends to your will.
“Y-you.. I.. I b-belong.. To you..” He finally says and you retreat your hand from his neck, licking the tiny drops of blood left in your digits. With an amused hum you lower your face to his and kiss him again, savoring the delicious taste of his blood. Dio feels his wounds healing, but knows that any attempt to escape or resist you would only result in more of them. He hates how much he’s enjoying what you’re doing to him.
And you know exactly how much he enjoys your touch and presence when he whimpers and melts under your dangerous touch. You were going to have so much fun with your pet.

Oh my lord i would love to hear more about your silent hill au!!!
oh thank god because i want to talk about it
(content warning for death, horror, gore...come on it’s silent hill)
so silent hill games are objectively about forgiveness, right? like the whole point of the journey is admitting that you’ve done something wrong and forgiving yourself for it. the best candidate i have of that is martin k blackwood
martin took care of his mother for years, sacrificing his own youth and happiness for a woman who wouldn’t so much as look him in the eye
but martin loved his mother and when she died he was devastated
or that was the narrative that he gave himself
because truthfully when the nurses at the hospice called to say his mother passed martin had slumped to the ground and wept tears of joy
but that’s not the kind of person martin wants to be so he pretends the death of his mother shook him to his core
enough so that when he receives a letter from her a year later saying she’d actually survived and was in a nursing home in a place called silent hill martin has to go look
he meets jon on his first day
jon is an angry stick of a man, determined to believe that his grandmother is also somewhere in silent hill and he needs to find her
he ignores the fact that his grandmother abandoned him when he was ten years old, that she despised having to raise him, that she’d locked him in his room for days at a time with nothing to eat and nowhere to go
jon loved his grandmother, she loved him, she wouldn’t have done that
he abandons martin soon after meeting him, claiming martin would only slow him down
martin meets tim next, near an old abandoned theater
tim who’s looking for his little brother danny
his brother who absolutely didn’t kill himself
his baby brother who had called and called and called and tim had ignored the ringing phone because it was 3am and he was exhausted and he hadn’t answered the phone why hadn’t he--
they meet sasha who’s had dreams of this town since she was a child and dreams of a girl that looks like her and sounds like her but is not her
they find jon again in a playground and he’s crying, holding an old children’s cardboard book in his hands
they hear the gunshots next
daisy and basira run by, chased by...something...something that is absolutely not a person or if it had been at some time it wasn’t anymore it’s movements jerky and stilted
when they meet melanie she’s already gouged out her own eyes
sasha wraps a cloth around her face and melanie says it doesn’t help...she can still see her father screaming
they bring melanie with them because they can’t leave her alone
while passing a wax museum tim swears he sees his brother and he runs inside, shaking off martin who tries to stop him and knocking jon to the ground
inside the figures come to life and the group has to destroy them with anything they have on hand
jon has a pipe, martin has a knife, sasha has a brick
when they find tim he’s on his knees in the back room. there’s a mannequin hung from the ceiling and tim keeps saying “i’m sorry danny i should have been there i’m so sorry”
sasha holds him and tim confesses he knew his brother was in a bad place he had just been so tired
melanie says it wasn’t his fault and then says she had put her father in a nursing home and he’d died, and it wasn’t her fault either. she wasn’t going to shoulder that blame anymore
there’s an explosion and when martin wakes up he’s alone on a pier
he can hear his mother, calling for him
the fog is so thick he can barely see and then a hand reaches out for him
it’s jon, who’d woken up in that playground again all alone and refused to be alone ever again
it wasn’t his fault his parents had died, it wasn’t his fault his grandmother had hated him, and he wasn’t wrong for being angry
“you have to admit it, martin, or it won’t let you go.” jon says, “this place feeds on fear”
so martin lets his mother go, and he takes jon’s hand
they find daisy and basira while looking for the others, trapped in a graveyard
they’re being pulled under the soil by a thousand, writhing arms
martin pulls basira out while jon gets daisy
basira admits that the bodies are the ones that they’ve killed while on the force, either directly or through negligence
they find the others again outside an amusement park (because its not a silent hill game if there’s not an amusement park)
sasha says its time for this to end
they end up in a hall of mirrors and another sasha stares back at them from the glass
the sasha they were with was never sasha at all, she’s always been trapped here
tim breaks the glass to set her free
something screams so loud and sharp they all fall to their knees
eventually they all wake up at the city limits to silent hill
a bus rambles by, entering through the fog and disappearing
sasha is gone
tim starts to turn back to try and save her but melanie stops him with a hand to the arm
and scene. okay admittedly this went off the rails a bit but come on how perfect do they fit into a silent hill game? anyway thanks for the food.

Hi!! 17, 21 and 27 for the peaky ask :)
17. Favorite scene?
Oh no this is impossible, I don’t know if I’d even be able to narrow it down to favorite scene in a season. But... if I was forced to chose, possibly the gathering around Danny Whizz Bang’s body in the Garrison, and then Tommy standing seeing him off alone afterwards, shot from behind. There’s something quietly devastating about it that just nails me every time.
The whole end of that episode in general, from the dramatic walk that starts off reflected in a puddle to Tommy’s terrible speech about the Small Heath Rifles to his little monologue to Harry in the bar to Ada interrupting the standoff... gives me shivers.
21. Favorite song used in the series?
YOU’VE PICKED ALL THE IMPOSSIBLE QUESTIONS. I really, really, really love PJ Harvey’s cover of Red Right Hand in season 2. I Wish, I Wish by Rachel Unthank and the Winterset in s4 is also incredibly unusual and haunting. You and Whose Army by Radiohead in s3 was probably the one that took me the most by surprise, and really worked when it didn’t seem like it should have.
27. Who could join the cast?
Gosh. I usually don’t like big name stars showing up in shows I like because I can find it distracting. I think they’ve done pretty well with people I didn’t previously know and I’m happy with that trend. Um... I think @knivesplushearts mentioned Stephen Rhea and I’d love to see him on the show. Eva Greene absolutely, probably the one name I would die for. Helen Mirren as well. And it’d be really nice to see Naomie Harris and Cillian Murphy act together again, they had amazing chemistry.
Of all the people rumored to be cast the one star I might not hate would be Julia Roberts, because she has a deep melancholy/sadness to her that is at odds with her star facade and might be really interesting.

"You Murdered Your Wife!"
Christmas Week Review
(Episodes Commencing Tuesday 22nd December 2020 - Saturday 26th December 2020!)
Hello everyone! I'm sure it's been a hot minute since I last posed, I hope you all had a brilliant week and a brilliant Christmas! This blog post is going to be a little different, there's quite a bit I've missed recently due to working over the Christmas period and also seeing family. So instead of posting a post about an individual episode, I'm going cover the whole Christmas run up and reveal in this one post! I hope it'll give me the opportunity to catch up with you and enjoy our discussions revolving around recent events.
So firstly, I'm going to start with Honey's Community Christmas Dinner! After all her hard work of bringing everyone together and putting on a fabulous Christmas dinner for the community, disaster strikes when the fridge stops working, causing all the food to be all ruined! Only of course, Jay is there to save the day, it's clear he's been swooning over her for months now and what better way to win her over than to gather together some last minute prepared food and to add the icing on the top, announce to their neighbours how much of a wonderful woman she is! During the festivities everyone is dancing in the street, whilst other locals including Denise, Jack, Bernadette and Patrick eat and drink and be merry. Also I just want to mention how hilarious Kim was, arriving drunk and throwing up through out the day and eventually getting up for a boogie with the rest of the locals. The day ended on a high when Jay and Honey were left in the kitchen cleaning everything up, only things got a bit hot when Billy caught them kissing! (We all knew it was going to happen eventually!) Elsewhere, Tina had been released on bail after being charged with Ian's attempted murder, however when a brick is thrown through the Queen Vic window, warning Ian that things are not yet over, Ian comes to believe that Tina is not behind his attack, as Gray and Shirley both vouch for Tina being at home at the time when the brick was thrown! Also, Max proposes the idea to Linda of doing a runner and leaving together for New Zealand, he claims that he fully believed Linda attacked Ian and reveals that he got rid of the murder weapon, thinking he was doing it to save Linda! Only when Linda announces that she's not responsible for Ian's attack, he worries that if the police find out about the Lucy Beale Award, he could be sent down for a crime he didn't do!! He's convinced that Linda loves him as much as he loves her, he tries to persuade her, mentioning that Mick doesn't show her any form of love or intimacy anymore!
--
After witnessing Honey and Jay locking lips, Billy is clearly devastated, he feels betrayed that the boy he brought up as his own and his ex-wife have been intimate behind his back. He's completely and utterly heartbroken that they could've done this to him! They catch up with him and promise that their kiss never meant anything! Even though by the looks in their faces, deep down you can tell they both have feelings towards one another. They give their word to Billy that it was a terrible mistake and it'll never happen again, to which he responds that if it ever does, both Jay and Honey will be dead to him! I do doubt though however that Jay and Honey will struggle to be away from each other. In other parts of Walford, things are looking bad for Tina, after her conversation with Shirley, she's shocked when he sister offers her some money and proposes that she does a runner, this leaves Tina feeling shocked, admitting that if she ran it'll make her look guilty. But Shirley is convinced with the amount of evidence building against her, she may have no other option but to run, as she's scared for her sister. Devastated that her sister doesn't believe her, later Tina turns to her brother, Mick. Surprisingly, Mick apologises to his sister for speaking to her in such an awful way previously, he suggests that she doesn't run and that she faces it head on, and he promises to be by her side when she does. Can I just mention what an absolutely amazing scene that was between Mick and Linda! After Max being found in his flat, Mick reveals that he's already aware about his wife's infidelity. Only when Linda arrives, she begs Max to leave whilst she tries to talk to her husband. This scene was absolutely brilliant, amazing performances by Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright! After trying to explain to her husband about her actions, she pleads to him to fight for her, she is literally crying and pleading to him to show her that he cares for her, even in just the smallest way! But when Mick says that if Max makes her happy, he won't stand in her way, she can't seem to believe the words she's hearing and slaps her husband around the face, just to get a response, even taking it a step further by threatening to have an alcoholic drink! When she desperately asks him "Why won't you fight for me?!" - he simply replies with "I have no fight left!" - This is absolutely devastating for the couple, for a split moment when Mick got up from his seat, I thought he was going to let rip, fling a chair over the room or something - but there was simply nothing! After realising that her marriage isn't going to be fought for, Linda heads back to Max, when he reveals he has actually fallen in love with her, she admits that she still loves her husband but it looks as if their marriage could well and truly be over. Elsewhere, Ian tries his absolute best to apologise to his sons, his intention is to apologise to everyone he's wronged in an attempt for all the death threats to stop, starting with Peter and Bobby. After he makes an emotional, pleading speech to his sons, they invite him to attend the community event later in the evening, Ian is more than pleased and thankful to have been able to rekindle his relationship with his sons. During the event, everyone is gathered at the Square, watching a slideshow of neighbours and friends they've lost over the previous years, whilst a beautiful choir sings Silent Night. Images of our favourite characters including Peggy, Abi, Chantelle, Pauline, Pat, Dot and Ethel are shown to the community, everyone is reminiscing and sharing happy tears as they share memories of loved ones, even Phil and Karen attend as their loved one's images pop up. Only everyone is in pure shock, none more than Ian, when an image of him appears saying "R.I.P Ian Beale!" Honey states that no one put that image in the slideshow, suddenly Ian becomes aware of everyone around him and realises that the person who attacked him is close. I loved this moment when as the choir carried on singing, every single suspect, slowly looked over to Ian to see his reaction - Bobby, Ben, Kheerat, Suki, Peter, Phil - it is absolutely mesmerising, fantastic editing and camera work! Absolutely loved it!

And then we come to the banger, THE BIG ONE! The Christmas Day episode!! Wow, wow, wow! Another jam packed one right?! There are 3 or 4 main things I want to cover in this one! First one being the big return of Lucas Johnson and his daughter Chelsea!!! This has been such a long time coming and what an epic return it was!!! I do feel sorry for Denise however, as obviously her plans for a traditional Christmas did not go to plan. Even though she took Raymond to his church, she was left absolutely stunned and shook with fear as Lucas appeared (once again) as a supposed changed man!! But what shocked her Christmas Day even more was learning that her daughter, Chelsea, had been seeing him, spending time with him and had been doing so for a few months behind her Mother's back. This deeply saddened Denise, and it understandably made the whole family on edge as they heard the news about Lucas returning! Even Patrick took it upon himself to confront the murderer. We can absolutely see instantly that Lucas hasn't changed his ways, clasping his fist whilst being confronted by Patrick, and then also approaching Ruby as she walks along the Square, alone! I know it's way too early to say, but has Lucas already spotted his next victim?!
The next thing I want to mention is the Slater's - it looks as if it's a happy Christmas for the Slater family, even though Kat has her concerns that it could be Kush's last Christmas, they take full pleasure in enjoying presents, food and drinks! Even though Martin and Ruby plan to spend their first Christmas at home as a newly-married couple, they get dragged into spending their day with the Slater's. Before Ruby arrives at the household, Martin has already given out his presents and it turns out the one he gave to Stacey is a beautiful sparkling watch, as she's overwhelmed by the gift, we can see absolutely clearly that that gift wasn't in fact intended for her, however it's only later on after having drinks in the Vic with the family, poor Stacey gets completely the wrong end of the stick and kisses her ex-husband, informing him that she still feels the same way about him and they could work things out, only for him to sadly drop the bombshell that he accidentally mixed up the presents and in fact the watch was meant for Ruby and the keyring Ruby opened was for Stacey. However, the one thing that none of the Slaters are aware of, is that privately after buying herself a gorgeous new dress, Jean devastatingly finds a new lump. Does this mean that her cancer could've come back? What an absolutely heart-breaking thing to find out on Christmas!
Following the devastating blow between Mick and Linda on Christmas Eve, Mick decides that they shouldn't pretend anymore and have Ollie separately on Christmas Day. This clearly upsets Linda as Mick walks away with his son. Much to Shirley's surprise, Tina has invited Mick and his son over to Gray's for Christmas dinner, Shirley is absolutely over the moon when she sees her son and Grandson appear on the doorstep. When everyone is sat around at the table, Tina and Shirley voice their thanks to Gray as he carves the Christmas turkey. Tina happily passes a gift to Mick which is revealed to be a picture of him, Katy and Tina as kids - this seems to really spook Mick but he thanks his baby sister all the same, however Shirley can see that her son isn't looking right, she urges for them to inform her what's the problem. Only instead of informing her about Katy, Mick informs her about Linda having an affair with Max. Furious, Shirley takes it upon herself to confront her daughter-in-law and is stunned when Mick follows announcing that she doesn't mean anything to him anymore. These words look as if they really hurt Linda, to her, it seems that her marriage has completely come to an end, she turns to Max and mentions that she could consider going away with him to New Zealand.
Later on in the evening, after having altercations with Gray through-out the day, Tina decides to make it up to him and clear the dinner table and put all the cutlery away in the dishwasher, however in the most creepiest way, Gray informs her that she's put the cutlery in the wrong way, that the knives should in fact go blade-up! He watches her and it almost looks as if he's imagining doing to her what he did to Chantelle! I do fear for Tina, could she find out his secret and be his next victim?
And Oh my god!!! The big one, the big reveal we've been waiting for! Early on in the episode, we can see that Ian is still completely on edge of countless death threats, he looks out of the Queen Vic window and sees his brother, Ben, playing with his daughter Lexi. Ben notices and makes a gun motion with his fingers towards his brother. Instantly this plays on Ian's mind and eventually he confronts him in the middle of the Square, when suddenly the police turn up and it looks as if they're hear to collect Ben, however much to everyone's surprise, they're actually there for Peter after it's revealed his DNA was found. To Ian's surprise he asks his son "Why?" to which he responds with "I enjoyed watching you squirm!". Earlier in the episode Sharon announces to her new husband that she's going to visit Denny's grave, during their drive up to the cemetery, Ian is talking about nothing but himself and how Peter could betray him. She doesn't look a bit interested in her husband's rant and in forms him to go back to the pub. Ian does as he's told and whilst Sharon stands by her boy's gravestone, she makes a call to Phil. At first we have no idea why she's calling him, but eventually it all comes clear - when he eventually makes it to the cemetery, she informs him that she wants Ian dead today!!! WHAT DID I SAY FROM THE BEGINNING?! I KNEW SHARON WAS BEHIND IAN'S ATTACK!!! It turns out that for months they've been waiting on hearing Dennis's voicemail and it looks as if the blonde vixen is out for revenge and justice for her son! A flashback shows us that it was actually Phil who attacked Ian that night but before he could finish the job, he was interrupted by Peter spray-painting on the doors and made his escape. It looks as if Ben missed his Dad by seconds as he walks over Ian's motionless body and voices that he had it coming! It looks as if Phil and Sharon had been planning this for months possibly, however when she informs Phil to go back and finish the job today, when Phil gets to the pub he finds Ben standing over Ian with a baseball bat and he comes to realise that he can't go through with it. If Ian's blood gets on his hands, it'll come back to his family - annoying as Ian is, he can't kill a member of his family, especially when it's his son's brother. When Sharon comes home to see that Ian is still alive, she confronts Phil and is devastated when he announces that he wants out of their plan to kill Ian, he voices that she's grieving and needs professional help to come to terms with her grief. But instead, Sharon calls him a coward and informs him she'll do it herself. As everyone goes home and everyone is with their families, Sharon is seen in the Queen Vic kitchen, crushing small pills, she melts them with a blowtorch, places them into a Christmas Pudding and serves them to Ian! After all the suspects that were listed, I had a VERY big feeling that Sharon would be the one behind Ian's attack! As much as I'd love to know how she got hold of the voicemail from Denny, I am certainly looking forward to seeing when Ian realises it's his new wife who's trying to kill him! Another fantastic Christmas episode!
--
Finally coming to the final episode of this week, Boxing Day! Oh my goodness, this one had me on the edge of my seat and shaking!!! I'm sure you're all aware of what's got me shaking to the core!! That will be the thing I focus on last! Firstly, I'm going to focus on Sharon and Ian. After the previous day, Phil and Sharon bump into each other outside of the Vic, neither of them say a word to each other as they both have a silent knowledge of what's going on, it looks as if Phil is questioning her with his eyes, only his question is answered when Ian appears from the top bedroom window, shouting down to his wife. With the comfort of knowing that Sharon hasn't gone through with her plan, Phil walks way. Only little does he know that she's actually poisoning him! Later on in the episode, Sharon convinces Ian to show his face and step outside, even though he is reluctant to do so, and it just so happens that the first people he sees are his Mum and his son, Peter. Peter reveals to him that he's been released by police with no charges, leaving everyone completely by surprise. So that puts Peter out of the frame!
Meanwhile, after Denise's huge shock at seeing Lucas the previous day, she and Kim take Raymond to the park for a kick about for a bit of space. Innocently, Ruby approaches the little boy and compliments his Christmas jumper, but it seems as if recent events have spooked Denise, as she calls the little boy to stay close to her. As she walks away with the little boy, it looks as if Ruby is feeling an emotion that she's never felt before. Later on when she and Martin meet up at the Vic, he apologies for the way they spent their first Christmas. However, something even more interesting is on Ruby's mind, she questions her husband whether he has the feeling that something in his life is missing, but when he simply can't think of anything and announces he has everything he wants, she drops the bombshell that she wants them to have a child of their own.
So the last and big section I need to talk about involves Gray and all members of the Carter family! The first thing I'll mention is the brief scene between Linda and Mick, as it comes to dawn on them that their marriage is coming to an end, Linda reveals to her husband that they should discuss new arrangements when it comes to Ollie, when each of them get to see him etc. Deep down you can see it's visibly hurting both of them that it's come to this, but what else are they supposed to do? Mick won't talk and Linda truly believes that her husband has lost complete interest and doesn't want her anymore. As Linda leaves with Ollie, Mick feels like he needs someone, of course his first person to contact is Katy. When she eventually returns to the Square, once again she starts to manipulate Mick, trying to convince him that moving away would be the best thing for him, pointing out that his marriage to Linda is over, what is keeping him in Walford? The fact that he does actually still love his wife and his family and his little boy!! Meanwhile whilst all this is happening with Mick, Gray is reeling after Tina let it slip in front of his children that Chantelle was planning on leaving him. This has left him out for revenge on Tina! Even Mitch has started questioning whether what Tina has said is true, which is clearly going to rattle Gray's cage, he points the blame straight onto Tina for his children not wanting to see him, to which she repeatedly apologises for. However, he seems to think that she has completely crossed the line. When he bumps into the Detective who's working the case of the attack on Ian, he reveals that Peter has been released without charge and also the witness they gave wasn't reliable and that Tina's case probably won't make it to court. Gray goes back and completely twists his words and informs Tina that she has to leave the Square today as the evidence against her is building and building! To their absolute shock, both Shirley and Tina begin to panic, Mick hears the commotion and questions what's happening, as Gray reveals that the police could be coming for Tina at any moment and she needs to leave quick, he proposes that he leaves the Square with her. Taking Katy's advice, he seems to realise that this could be his way out of Walford! Shirley is in absolute tears as she comes to the realisation that both her sister and her son could be leaving so suddenly. As Mick hurries home to grab his belongings, Tina informs Gray that she'll forever be thankful to him and will find a way to repay him, as he begins to make plans in booking a plane flight for them. Before Tina goes to grab her belongings, Shirley stops to give her a late Christmas present - which I have a huge feeling could be VERY important - a golden chain with her name on, Tina is weepy as she thanks her sister and tells her she'll miss her. As Shirley bids her sister farewell, I have a devastating, horrible feeling that this may be the last time Shirley will see Tina alive?! Later on as Tina rushes to grab her last few items from the shop, she bumps into the Detective and states that the witness they have for her is a liar, however he drops the bombshell about her witness being unreliable and that Gray should've told her, it becomes clear to Tina that Gray has been lying to her. As she arrives back at the house, Gray is finishing packing her things, it appears to be just the two of them in the house. Everything comes crystal clear to Tina that Gray wants her out of his house and out of Walford - I thought this was such an epic, gripping scene! I was fearing for Tina the entire time!! She confronts him about his lies and even comes to the realisation that the way he's treated her is exactly the way he treated Chantelle. Gray is absolutely stunned to realise that she is on to him and she has come to know the truth about how his wife died, she threatens him that she's been watching him and she knows exactly the type of person he his! But as soon as she mentions Chantelle, about the way he treated her and abused her, you can see Gray getting angrier and angrier, denying all allegations that Tina is throwing at him! I did feel that Tina was so brave to stand up to him, but I am fearing that this could be the last time we see Tina alive? She says those very important words - "You killed her! You murdered your wife!" and you can see it clear as day that Gray knows he's going to have to get rid of her before she reveals his secret.
I have to be honest but this episode has fantastic performances from Toby-Alexander Smith and Luisa Bradshaw-White! Are you guys fearing for Tina as much as I am?! I do feel that the gold chain with Tina's name on is going to be very significant! Will Gray murder Tina, get rid of her body and convince Shirley that Tina has actually fled, without Mick and left her chain behind?! Who knows? Either way, I don't know how Tina is going to escape the wrath of Gray now she's aware of his secret. What do you guys think? Did you enjoy the Christmas episodes as much as I did? I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thank you for reading, I apologise it's taken so long, but I hope you enjoy this post as much as I've enjoying writing! I'll be back tomorrow following tomorrow's episode - what will happen to Tina?! Love you all xXx
