Blogmas Beauty favourites of 2023: Eyeshadow Palettes
Hi guys!
Welcome to my Beauty Favourites of 2023 countdown! Each day leading up to New Years Eve I will be sharing with my beauty favourites of the year. This will be a mix of new products and products I have used throughout the year. Today we are focusing on my favourite part of my makeup routine, eyes so enjoy my top 5 eyeshadow palettes of 2023.
Let's start off with Charlotte Tilbury. Charlotte brought out a new eyeshadow palette in her holiday collection called The Beautyverse Eyeshadow Palette. This was the first time Charlotte released a 9 pan eyeshadow palette and I think we can all agree it is a glittery dream. This palette comes with 3 really wearable matte nude shades and a pink matte shade which is actually not as bright on the eye as it is in the palette which in this case is a good thing. It also comes with 5 shimmer shades that can be worn by themselves or used as glitter topper shades. It's a stunning palette and it's perfect for party season, this palette has made me really enjoy playing with bright shimmer shades that I normally wouldn't wear on the daily.
My other favourite eyeshadow product from Charlotte Tilbury is the Colour Chameleon Eyeshadow Sticks. These pigmented eyeshadow sticks are amazing when you need a quick product to throw on your eyes. I love drawing these sticks on my eyes and then either blending them in with my hands or a eyeshadow brush. Either method you choose will leave you with a eye look that people think you spent ages on. Though I have been using these sticks for a long time now I have been using them a lot more this year and they are just a dreamy formula!
Speaking of quick makeup, a new release from NYX has had me obsessed with liquid eyeshadows. I have been loving and obsessed with the NYX Ultimate Glow Shots Liquid Eyeshadow since October. They are some of the most user friendly, crazy pigmented, drugstore liquid eyeshadows I have ever had the pleasure of using. Once these shadows are in place they dry down and don't move at all until you use a makeup remover. I have used other liquid shadows before and they either fade or crack after a while but these shadows look just as good at night as they do first thing in the morning.
Every year Huda Beauty brings out a 18 pan eyeshadow palette as part of their holiday collection and this year we were blessed with the Pretty Grunge Eyeshadow Palette. This palette is gorgeous, it's full of matte, cream and shimmering shadows to create anything from a soft nude look to a perfect glittery grunge makeup vibe. Huda always creates the most pigmented shadows in her collection and they deserve all the hype they get. Compared to most of her previous you could argue this palette has the most unique colour story and honestly 16 year old emo me would have gone crazy for this palette back in the day.
Lasting we have my pressed glitter obsession, With Loved Pressed Glitters. I got these glitters when I wanted to add some extra sparkle to my era's tour inspired makeup looks. These glitters are stunning and unlike other pressed glitters they don't have crazy fall out and last all day. They are also really affordable at £8 each.

Why Apple, Sephora and Nordstrom are jumping on this trend to pull in shoppers One go-to strategy is the store-within-a-store concept. It’s a way for one retailer to join forces with another by setting up a pop-up shop within their stores. Industry analysts say the approach has benefits for both parties. For instance, department store Kohl’s (KSS) is adding as many as 200 Sephora mini shops inside of its stores in 2021 as a way to expand its beauty and cosmetics category. For Sephora, the deal helps the retailer expand its market to Kohl’s shoppers. Meanwhile, Target is opening mini Apple shops in a handful of its stores as it strives to become a one-stop shop to meet all of its consumers’ needs. “From Sephora co-locating in Kohl’s to Apple in Target stores, these collaborations bring complementary customer traffic and added income, especially for the host retailer,” said Burt Flickinger III, managing director of Strategic Resource Group. It’s also a way to get shoppers to visit stores more frequently, he said. “For stores like Kohl’s or Nordstrom, shoppers maybe go once a month or once a quarter. By adding a store-in-a-store, now you can get a Kohl’s shopper returning more often for their beauty and cosmetics needs,” said Flickinger. A number of merchants have already joined forces. Here are a few of the most recent “shop-in-shop” collaborations: Nordstrom welcomes mini shops for this $2,995 home gym Nordstrom and at-home fitness startup Tonal have teamed up to launch a handful of Tonal mini shops inside Nordstrom stores. The Tonal-branded pop-up stores are debuting this month in 40 Nordstrom locations across 20 states. The 50-square-foot shops will be located in the women’s activewear department. Nordstrom said shoppers can see a demo of the gym or try a workout for themselves. The home gym from San Francisco-based Tonal mounts to the wall like a flat screen television and uses “digital weights” where the resistance is personalized. The startup is backed by a slew of investors and athletes, including Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors. Industry analysts said the crossover appeal of this partnership is a good fit for consumers because Tonal’s pricey gyms could entice fans of Nordstrom, a chain considered to be high-end among its department store peers. The partnership also comes at a time when Nordstrom is battling sales declines and adapting its strategy to changing consumer preferences. “Retailers right now are looking for ways to boost customer traffic,” said Robert Passikoff, a retail industry expert and founder of consulting firm Brand Keys. “The Nordstrom-Tonal partnership makes sense because it fits well with the customers of both brands. For Tonal, it’s a very smart way to get its products in front of more consumers because everyone knows Nordstrom (JWN), so it will benefit from this sense of borrowed equity.” Sephora and Kohl’s make up a deal for beauty Makeup sales have been walloped by the pandemic. But that’s not stopping Sephora from adding more stores outside of struggling malls. Sephora is set to open mini shops inside Kohl’s (KSS) stores, with the first 200 locations debuting in fall of 2021. The partnership with Kohl’s will replace an earlier one that Sephora struck with JCPenney that is slated to end in the next few years. For Kohl’s, the collaboration allows it to attract younger consumers with wider array of beauty products and prices. “Beauty is an area where Kohl’s is currently underdeveloped, so it doesn’t capture much spend from shoppers who are already in its stores,” said Neil Saunders, retail industry analyst and managing director of GlobalData. “Adding a Sephora automatically resolves this issue, and it also makes Kohl’s a more interesting destination, which may help to drive foot traffic.” From Sephora’s perspective, Saunders said Kohl’s provides access to many off-mall locations where Sephora is currently underrepresented. Kohl’s expects to have as many as 850 “Sephora at Kohl’s” shops in its stores by 2023, as well as an online shop later this year. Call it a Mac mini Target is opening scaled-down versions of Apple stores at some of its US locations this year. Target (TGT) said an “enhanced Apple shopping experience” is rolling out to 17 stores in the coming months, with redesigned sections that include new lighting and displays for shoppers to experiment with an expanded assortment of Apple products. Target is also updating Apple’s product page on its app and website. Customers will still need to visit an actual Apple (AAPL) store for product repairs. Target is rolling out the new Apple mini-stores at five locations in Texas and four in Florida with the remaining scattered across various states, including New York, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. The new Apple sections will be added to more Target stores in the coming years. It’s the latest high-profile partnership Target has struck as it continues to evolve into a one-stop destination for customers who are increasingly looking to avoid shopping at malls. Sephora’s rival Ulta has its own Target Ulta Beauty is debuting its mini cosmetics shops inside of Target stores in 2021. As with Sephora’s mini shops in Kohl’s, this deal is expected to help Ulta (ULTA), which sells a mix of drugstore beauty and pricey brands that aren’t normally found in big box stores, reach younger and more budget-conscious consumers. For Target, it expands the retailer’s growing beauty business with new brands it didn’t carry before. The 1,000 square-foot mini shops will initially launch in 100 Target locations and on Target.com, and then ramping up to several hundred Target stores. “The benefit for Ulta is increased exposure. Why Apple, Sephora and Nordstrom are jumping on this trend to pull in shoppers
One go-to strategy is the store-within-a-store concept. It’s a way for one retailer to join forces with another by setting up a pop-up shop within their stores.
Industry analysts say the approach has benefits for both parties. For instance, department store Kohl’s (KSS) is adding as many as 200 Sephora mini shops inside of its stores in 2021 as a way to expand its beauty and cosmetics category. For Sephora, the deal helps the retailer expand its market to Kohl’s shoppers.
Meanwhile, Target is opening mini Apple shops in a handful of its stores as it strives to become a one-stop shop to meet all of its consumers’ needs.
“From Sephora co-locating in Kohl’s to Apple in Target stores, these collaborations bring complementary customer traffic and added income, especially for the host retailer,” said Burt Flickinger III, managing director of Strategic Resource Group. It’s also a way to get shoppers to visit stores more frequently, he said.
“For stores like Kohl’s or Nordstrom, shoppers maybe go once a month or once a quarter. By adding a store-in-a-store, now you can get a Kohl’s shopper returning more often for their beauty and cosmetics needs,” said Flickinger.
A number of merchants have already joined forces. Here are a few of the most recent “shop-in-shop” collaborations:
Nordstrom welcomes mini shops for this $2,995 home gym
Nordstrom and at-home fitness startup Tonal have teamed up to launch a handful of Tonal mini shops inside Nordstrom stores.
The Tonal-branded pop-up stores are debuting this month in 40 Nordstrom locations across 20 states. The 50-square-foot shops will be located in the women’s activewear department.
Nordstrom said shoppers can see a demo of the gym or try a workout for themselves.
The home gym from San Francisco-based Tonal mounts to the wall like a flat screen television and uses “digital weights” where the resistance is personalized. The startup is backed by a slew of investors and athletes, including Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors.
Industry analysts said the crossover appeal of this partnership is a good fit for consumers because Tonal’s pricey gyms could entice fans of Nordstrom, a chain considered to be high-end among its department store peers. The partnership also comes at a time when Nordstrom is battling sales declines and adapting its strategy to changing consumer preferences.
“Retailers right now are looking for ways to boost customer traffic,” said Robert Passikoff, a retail industry expert and founder of consulting firm Brand Keys. “The Nordstrom-Tonal partnership makes sense because it fits well with the customers of both brands. For Tonal, it’s a very smart way to get its products in front of more consumers because everyone knows Nordstrom (JWN), so it will benefit from this sense of borrowed equity.”
Sephora and Kohl’s make up a deal for beauty
Makeup sales have been walloped by the pandemic. But that’s not stopping Sephora from adding more stores outside of struggling malls.
Sephora is set to open mini shops inside Kohl’s (KSS) stores, with the first 200 locations debuting in fall of 2021.
The partnership with Kohl’s will replace an earlier one that Sephora struck with JCPenney that is slated to end in the next few years.
For Kohl’s, the collaboration allows it to attract younger consumers with wider array of beauty products and prices.
“Beauty is an area where Kohl’s is currently underdeveloped, so it doesn’t capture much spend from shoppers who are already in its stores,” said Neil Saunders, retail industry analyst and managing director of GlobalData. “Adding a Sephora automatically resolves this issue, and it also makes Kohl’s a more interesting destination, which may help to drive foot traffic.”
From Sephora’s perspective, Saunders said Kohl’s provides access to many off-mall locations where Sephora is currently underrepresented.
Kohl’s expects to have as many as 850 “Sephora at Kohl’s” shops in its stores by 2023, as well as an online shop later this year.
Call it a Mac mini
Target is opening scaled-down versions of Apple stores at some of its US locations this year.
Target (TGT) said an “enhanced Apple shopping experience” is rolling out to 17 stores in the coming months, with redesigned sections that include new lighting and displays for shoppers to experiment with an expanded assortment of Apple products.
Target is also updating Apple’s product page on its app and website. Customers will still need to visit an actual Apple (AAPL) store for product repairs.
Target is rolling out the new Apple mini-stores at five locations in Texas and four in Florida with the remaining scattered across various states, including New York, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. The new Apple sections will be added to more Target stores in the coming years.
It’s the latest high-profile partnership Target has struck as it continues to evolve into a one-stop destination for customers who are increasingly looking to avoid shopping at malls.
Sephora’s rival Ulta has its own Target
Ulta Beauty is debuting its mini cosmetics shops inside of Target stores in 2021.
As with Sephora’s mini shops in Kohl’s, this deal is expected to help Ulta (ULTA), which sells a mix of drugstore beauty and pricey brands that aren’t normally found in big box stores, reach younger and more budget-conscious consumers.
For Target, it expands the retailer’s growing beauty business with new brands it didn’t carry before.
The 1,000 square-foot mini shops will initially launch in 100 Target locations and on Target.com, and then ramping up to several hundred Target stores.
“The benefit for Ulta is increased exposure. Ulta has an incredibly successful track record and, before the pandemic, was posting consistently strong growth,” said Saunders.

Hi guys!
Welcome to my Beauty Favourites of 2023 countdown! Each day leading up to New Years Eve I will be sharing with my beauty favourites of the year. This will be a mix of new products and products I have used throughout the year. Today l will be sharing my Foundation favourites I have loved and obsessed over this year so enjoy my top 5 products of 2023.
Starting in no particular order we have the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation. Sadly this foundation was discontinued this year which broke my heart but luckily I found a few extra on Vinted. This foundation has been my favourite lightweight, glowy foundation for years now but I would say this year I have used it the most. Makes my skin look so smooth and glowy so effortlessly. Next up we have a brand new foundation that came out this year, R.E.M Beauty Sweetener Foundation. I have been obsessed with this foundation since it launched (with over 40 shades by the way). This longwearing foundation minimises the look of pores, blurs imperfections and makes your skin look flawless! I love how flawless it makes my complexion look and honestly is so worth the hype!
Now we have another brand new launch this year from Maybelline, we all fell instantly in love with the Super Stay up to 24HR Skin Tint Foundation + Vitamin C. This was the best drugstore release this year by far, this skin tint gives your skin a instant glow while offering subtle (also buildable) coverage, instant hydration and a blurring finish. When I want a lightweight make up day this product has been my go to. Now we go back to one of my favourites I will always include in any countdown, Nars Sheer Glow. This foundation is the definition of glowy, dreamy makeup base and has been a iconic product for years. I love how my creamy this formula is because it feels lightweight on the skin and yet still offers a medium / buildable coverage finish. I have been obsessed with this foundation since 2010 when I was watching Zoella vlogs and she would always mention this foundation.
Lastly we have another product I discovered this summer and is the total bargain of £5.00, every meet the 17. Second Skin Enhancing Foundation from Boots. 17 is Boots extremely affordable makeup brand and during the summer I decided to look for something lightweight for my face and fell in love. This foundation is the definition of no makeup, makeup. It leaves your skin looking luminous and airbrushed which is insane because it only cost £5! Whenever I wear this foundation I get crazy compliments and people asking where it's from. Anyone shopping for beauty on the budget would love this foundation.
