Dupe Alert: Benefit Benetint Cheek & Lip Stain vs. Macqueen Water Tint

Another post in the “Western Beauty vs. K-Beauty Dupe” series! This time we're talking lip stains. Lip stains are a makeup staple that can effortlessly elevate your look with a natural, long-lasting pop of color.

On one side, we have the well-loved Benetint Cheek & Lip Stain from Benefit, a tried-and-true favorite in the beauty community. On the other, we have the newcomer on the block – MACQUEEN, a K-Beauty brand that’s gaining attention for offering similar results at a more wallet-friendly price point with their Jelly Plumping Water Tint.

fashionably late review — merit beauty 🖋

signature lipstick — matte + satin

power (matte)[blue based red] - comfortable, powdery finish and feel, very slightly dry in the same way putting powder on your lips is dry, does not feel like a traditional crusty matte lipstick at all, flattering color mix, sheer application feels like nothing while the opaque application feels like powder. smells like nothing at all. packaging feels nice and unique but not hindering. packaging is a smokey black.

l’avenue (satin)[brown berry] + millennial (satin)[nude pink] - comfortable, balmy lipstick feel, smells like lipstick with no added scents, true to swatch color application, comfortable wear, even wear down, does not get everywhere during eating, the packaging is a bronzy brown.

cheek flush balm —

rouge (true neutral red) + stockholm (baby pink) - balmy but not waxy feeling, melts onto the cheeks and face and stays balmy on the lips, blends into bare skin naturally, lightweight, leaves a natural sheen when blended in but not true dewy, lightweight packaging, no breakouts or clogged pores with proper cleansing from this product, a little product goes a long way in terms of pigment. i am always afraid i’m going to crush the dome with the lid.

so far this line feels amazing. i like that the color shades with their respective formulas do not demand a full face of makeup; i can wear a lipstick on its own or blush on its own and i don’t look imbalanced on the face. i think my favorite product is definitely the cheek flush in rouge; red is my natural color of flush and this blends to naturally into my skintone. i have a neutral leaning olive undertone but i’m also quite pale so i flush a very true red when i do and this looks the most natural on me.

i think this line will be great for most people but especially people who just want a couple pieces of makeup to wear to work or to feel a little more pulled together and the formulas deliver on that. if my mother was still wearing makeup, she would have loved this for work. aside from that area, i am a makeup lover but i also don’t wear full glam, like, ever, so this works great for my more natural makeup to no makeup-makeup looks. and you know, when you are running to the store but want red lipstick on.

this line is meant to be very minimal and minimal products typically have to live up to being good quality, having longevity, and actually fitting into routines, and i think merit achieves that with this line.

The Perfect Purple Lipsticks For Fall

I especially adore a luscious purple lipstick. The shade complements all of the earthy autumnal colors that are on display. The color can seem like a bold choice, but a deeper plum hue looks good on everyone. If you want to tone down the shade try a matte formulation, because a gloss will highlight and bring more attention to your lips. Though, if you are like me, you will not be deterred by the extra attention lol 😆!

Hi guys,

Welcome to the Pillow Talk Party! In case you haven't seen my other blog posts this week, we are celebrating Charlotte Tilbury's new Pillow Talk products. So far we have had the new shade Pillow Talk Fair in glosses, lipsticks and lip cheats and today we have a completely brand new product! Today we are chatting about the already viral Pillow Talk Big Lip Plumpgasm Plumping Lip Gloss, £27.00.

Last month this product was teased on social media and I was so excited to see a brand new lip formula. We love the Lip Collagen formula which makes your lips look fuller and shiner but this new formula is a whole other level! Usually I have plumping glosses because I can't stand that mouth on fire feeling but this formula is more unique and more comfortable on the lips.

The Plumpgasm Plumping Gloss comes in 2 shades fair - medium and medium - deep, for obvious reasons I got the first shade which is a pink nude tone. This new formula starts off as a cooling sensation rather than a burning feeling and then tingles as your lips get plumper, it's a weird description I know but it's honestly accurate. The best part is you don't have to wait ages for the plumping effect, once you apply the gloss you can see your lips start to change straight away. Like I said out of all the brands I've tried before this is by far the most comfortable and the gloss shade is stunning itself.

As Charlotte says "Enriched with Plumpgasm Heat + Ice Technology, plump-effect Collageneer™️ and hydrating Hyaluronic Acid, the formula combines the hydrating comfort of a balm + the amplifying power of a lip plumper with the beautifying pretty pink Pillow Talk effect so your lips look plumper + smoother". The gloss itself comes in a bigger applicator compared to a regular Tilbury gloss and the packaging is stunning! It's very unique to Charlotte's normal packaging and I adore it!

So if you're in the market for a new plumping lip product I would really recommend checking this one out. Some people are sensitive to plumping makeup products so check the ingredients first on the page linked above. As always all products mentioned are linked above.

I have really enjoyed Hourglass products in the past. I personally have sensitive skin and eyes and their makeup has never bothered me. I don’t really go to loose powders too much so I’d like to try out these powders.

How 2020 alt is one of my biggest inspirations.

Exploring the wide world of makeup as a creative medium opens up a lot of possibilities, with each person adding their own unique flair to their cosmetic endeavors. The intriguing realm of makeup includes a variety of looks, such as the carefree charm of clean girl aesthetics, the avant-garde appeal of alternative expressions, and the seemingly effortless allure of daily "no makeup" looks. As a passionate cosplayer, my goal goes beyond applying makeup professionally; it's about giving characters life via my distinct, stylized interpretation.

I've created a niche for myself in the cosmetics industry that is consistent with my creative vision. I combine bold pinks, delicate white lines, eye-catching sparkles, and lighthearted scribbles to create my stylized looks. It's an artistic dance on my face, where every brushstroke and color blends together to create a realistic representation of the personas I want to take on. It all comes down to personal opinion and the special bond formed with the character being brought to life, in the immersive world of cosplay makeup, where I firmly believe that no makeup style is too audacious in the pursuit of capturing the essence of a character, transcending the constraints of what is considered "canon."

My makeup journey began in the early months of 2020— when many people turned to social media sites like TikTok for inspiration and solace during the height of the quarantine. The limits of makeup were pushed in this digital realm, which gave rise to the alluring attraction of "alt" or alternative looks. My introduction to this creative environment has motivated me to personally challenge the prevailing norms of conventional beauty standards. I see my efforts in makeup as an act of rebellion, a joyful quest to challenge conventional ideas of beauty.

For me, applying makeup is an exciting, messy, and very personal artistic expression journey rather than just a routine. The ability to rewrite the story of beauty is what gives cosmetics their transformative power, not just the colors and textures. I enjoy creating something truly mine, a genuine expression of my creative soul in the constantly changing field of makeup artistry, with each brushstroke and color dab. I find happiness, comfort, and the ability to freely express myself in a world of boundless possibilities on this journey.

Hi guys,

I'm sure you all remember that a few blog posts ago, Charlotte Tilbury brought out a brand new collection of pink and red shades in her new Hollywood Beauty Icon collection. We all know I adore a pink lipstick over red any day and slowly I've been building up my collection so today I'm adding two new shades to my collection!

If you didn't know this collection consists of 5 very different pink tones in the K.I.S.S.I.N.G formula which is the more glossy, satin finish formula. Previously I got the shades Icon Baby which is the most nude toned everyday shade in the collection and Red Carpet Pink which is the second brightest pink in the collection after Candy Chic ( which I still need to add to my collection). The two shades I picked up this time are the more deeper toned pink shades because I don't have anything like them in my collection.

The first new shade I picked up is 90's Pink, this shade is described as a dreamy 90's-inspired warm rose pink (top swatch on image). The second new shade I got is Rose To Fame, this shade is the darkest in the collection and is described as a soft mauve rose lipstick. I would say this lipstick looks like it has a purple under tone when you see it on the lips (bottom swatch on image).

I love this new shades in my collection because they add more depth to my makeup look without needing to be a dark red lipstick. If you are a fan of pink lipsticks I think you'll appreciate the range of pinks on this collection. As always all products mentioned are linked above.

I keep going, even when I'm made fun in this small town for standing out, speaking out, and being myself. Self love is hard; especially with anxiety and depression, but I keep being myself and believing in myself no matter what! I'm learning to love myself more each day!
