I just remembered a project I worked on for a while in like 2021 (maybe 2020) and it had a LOT of akumatized marinette's
That was the idea behind the whole thing but man I did one by one and found some of the most obscure akumatized marinette au's
Sooooo I'm dragging these drawings up from the ashes and maybe it'll be a nice surprise for some of y'all to see

usually these were done on different canvas's (that were like 250x250) and then just... copied onto a larger canvas??? Mistakes were made and I was insane
A handful of these akumanette's were actually made by me cause apparently... roughly 18 other marinette's wasn't enough

First of all, shoutouts to my own akuma abominations creations.
First image, the ladybug with the red long hair? yeah the idea was the akuma bug seen in canon in like, s2 (also shown next to her) but updated for the new look in s4. Vry original we'll give it a 6/10
I don't remember too much for the middle one that is slightly dimmer. Though I do remember that was the kind of IDEA behind her. She's also holding a knife cause of course. Why have magical powers to kill people when you can harness the power of K N I F E 7/10
I remember a little more about the jester marinette in the back. She had a whole thing with medieval research, jester research, and she also wanted to stab Lila cause everyone wanted to stab lila at the time. 9/10 cause I had a fun time with her
Then the robinhood poster mari was a robin hood akuma mari. 3/10 not original

It was a cool idea and I always love when creators take inspiration from how similar Marinette's name is to another word for a kind of puppet "Marionette"
But before I forget, I'll end this post on one of my akumanette's that I tried to squeeze in but never got to. But I did make more art for and I remember the story!
I remember having a background planned but I never really got around to it. Basically the story was that marinette got akumatized but managed to take off her earrings in time. I think the reason for her akumatization was connected to figuring out the secrets that Emilie had been hiding with the peacock miraculous (BEFORE we knew that adrien was a sentimonster).
Tikki had to bring the earrings to Chat Noir and he had to find someone that looked ENOUGH like Ladybug that Hawkmoth wouldn't notice as much that Ladybug wasn't actually there. Enter Mireille cause at the time a few people were pointing out how similar she looked to the dupain chengs.
Akumanette's powers had something to do with casting depression? I think? In the form of dragons? Oh, Also she travels by walking on the dragons so thats cool
I don't remember everything but I did have a lot planned for her.
10/10 just because I had a fun time with her

Bocchi The Rock! is really hitting sweet spots for me on how it presents its main character’s core plot concept. Bocchi is essentially K-On! but if main girl Yui was too introverted to function instead of too stupid to function; which is a challenge to make interesting. The Yui of this show, Hitori, is a social train wreck who convinced herself learning guitar would substitute for having a personality and make her friends, with the expected 0% success rate. The plot follows her new desperate attempt to achieve friend-dom by joining a band. Which is a character concept that gives us some extremely relatable content:
Yet the show does still have the challenge of making a character who sucks at socializing be the main character of a Slice of Life show about socializing. Its a comedy, obviously, but still that can get repetitive fast, these character types are often side characters for a reason. Shows like WataMote keep it fresh by making main girl Tomoko a degenerate scumbag on top of a shut-in, its the *degeneracy* that powers the show; you want to have an angle on characters like these
Bocchi’s angle is both character & directorial. On the character side, what endears me to Hitori is how much she is halfway there on understanding social interaction. She might be a breathing pink stress ball but she isn’t clueless, she knows, kindof, what you need to do to make friends - her panic-attack levels of social anxiety just preclude it. So you get opening scenes like these, where she dresses full-musician to go to school to inspire musician-types to talk to her:
And it falls flat on her face because she has been there for months already and still refuses to initiate anything:
But that is what fashion is for! She did look good, in another context this would work (and does accidentally to trigger the ~plot later)
Or when learning about her new also-weirdo band mate Ryo, she goes from “yes friend!!”:
To, 5 seconds later on hearing that she spends her time visiting ruined buildings & second-hand clothing stores, “oh no, not like me at all”:
Which is actually pretty smart for 5 seconds of thought, Hitori groks that interests correlate with personality and people relate to being alone differently.
The point is that Hitori’s social failure is stacked on top of social insight, the humor derives from what she gets right vs wrong. Her *almost* getting it is more enjoyable, and more importantly way more likeable, than her just flailing. She holds the stupid ball for sure but you get why, she is trying to throw it away at least, which is endearing instead of frustrating.
More exceptional is how the show communicates her struggle; she can’t talk good right? So tons of her dialogue is internal dialogue - which you have to spice up somehow, static shots w/ voice narration is not very fun. Bocchi has a grand time playing one of anime’s trump cards of having fantastical brain-scape setpieces to communicate mood. That ‘she is a loner’ revelation ain’t settling for some sparkling pink-background; we have a full apocalypse to carry her aborted dream instead:
Communicating information hits the same struggle as emotion; this is a show about music after all, and another of anime’s strengths its presumption the audience actually is interested in the details of the niche hobby stuff the show is about. But Hitori-in-actuality couldn’t teach someone how to breathe let alone music tips, so instead we get random artistic cutaways to diagrams and explainers by imaginary instruments:
Which I love! Its expressive, you can shift the artstyle in a way that doesn’t clash, it lets the animators flex technique, and the information gets across without dragging down pacing (a lot of media, *unable* to do this, simply cuts the information out entirely, primarily to spite me).
And of course since all of this is happening inside Hitori’s head, she is, apparently, immensely creative - I love her now, teach me your ways my gumball princess! Her head would be a great place to be if you could lobotomize the anxiety somehow. All this means that Hitori, while awkward, is rarely cringe - partly because the directing always cuts away from any shots that would focus on cringe, but mainly because Hitori is too interesting to be cringe, you got other things to think about.
All in all Bocchi the Rock is my favourite silly-Slice-of-Life show of the season, and I hope it continues this level of playfulness going forward.

They really couldn't have just cut off the image a little bit higher if they didn't want to show nakedness that low? Some of us have serious issues with the idea of bringing a towel into the shower (me apparently lol things I didn't know about myself until I was forced to think about it).
BUT ANYWAY. None of that has anything to do with the art, which is amazing, and I agree that we should all appreciate it!

Appreciation Post!!
I've seriously been wanting to make a big post appreciating some of the dca content creators that I love (especially after getting to know some of them better) so here's a bunch of compliments and thoughts on them! (Also this is in no order, ily all very much ❤)
@madame-mongoose: Monnster!!! Oh, I love Monnie. Very bullyable (this is a pro). Always so funny and making me laugh. When Monnie comes online, I know there's gonna be some fun times to be had. Easy to talk to and my clone apparently. I wouldn't have made all these new friends if it weren't for Monnie and Sy, so I'm very appreciative of her uwu. Art is very shapely, bendy, very cartoonish in a pleasing way. And very unique to Monnie! I don't think I've seen anyone else with an artstyle like Monnie's. Characters are juicy, very well thought out and full of pain. Your mom.
@suokumi: You came crashing in one day and life has never been the same. Suo is full of love and passion and awful terrible disgusting sleeping habits. But they make up for it by telling everyone else to take care of themselves because they love you sososo much. Really talented, but don't tell them that or else they'll die. Anyway yeah, Suo Art my beloved and also Suo my beloved because we're married. Can bust out 50+ sketches in an hour and is like "dont look" even though I'm frothing at the mouth and shaking them. I love you Suo mwah ❤️
@opudontdonut: La Creatura!!! Bites everyone like watermelon. very fun, very gremlin. Pops in every now and again and throws everyone into a frenzy. A biting frenzy. Good Gaslighter. Take that as you may. Draws chibis really unique in a way I cannot replicate but is so so so so cute. Art is very distinct too!!! The line work especially is very noticable? Thick black lines. Draws the boys v skrunkly too. Nightmare and therapy au my beloveds.
@ariisonfire: TALENTED!!! Very, very talented. Animates, codes, arts, does just about everything and is good at it. Very funny doodles, very dorky. I love Ari!!! Very cute (cutest giggles this side of uh. Idk just really cute giggles) and provides me with Vector content. My spouse, no matter what Lily says.
@skittlewaffle: LOVE the way Kay draws the boys. Her art in general is so sharp and intentional. Precise. Very cartoony as well, good for animation me thinks. Has good AU ideas and brainstorms really well. Literally. The fucking paragraphs kay busts out that obliterate my mind. Also very fun person to hang out with, very silly.
@pillowspace: Beautiful, wonderful person. Somehow manages to draw on her 3ds??? Like a god?? Loves rotini (eat something else I'm begging you) KEEPS FUCKING REBLOGGING MY WATERFALLS PIECE Also has similar brain thoughts as me (ooie to Angel Tango jumpscare) Has a beautiful voice, fr. Sang a song for me which melted my little heart. Makes gut-bustingly funny gifs at the speed of light. Also says??? Things that make no sense but are very funny.
@vilz: Oof, what's not good to say about Val? You know that meme that's like "You're the funniest mother fucker on this webbed site" that's Val. Val's the funniest. Their comics always make me bark laugh like an idiot. Writes very poetically, reading their stuff is like. Like being punched but with a soft caress. Val art is good for the soul, me thinks. Even their doodles on receipt paper give me all the chemicals. Hanging out with Val leaves me smiling for the rest of the day, very fun company.
@cloudyvoid: SUPER talented. Can you believe they drew and rigged their own Vtuber model? I know, impressive right? Draws the DCA skrunkly and lanky just how I like 'em. Has good au ideas too.

Like little hints into things that are really fun to pick apart/notice on your own. This is a Hylian Loach. In Wind Waker's style. Found within Twilight Princess' unused files.
Basculegion-looking bastard.
Apparently, fishing as a game mechanic was implemented early enough to survive the artstyle change. TCRF (the source of this image) doesn't have the info about the date this model was created, but c'mon. Using Tetra's model as a placeholder for Imp Midna is one thing, it could've happened at any time in development — but making a whole new asset in the Toon style would only make sense when the entire game was Toon-styled.
Aren't loaches freshwater? I know the hypothetical Wind Waker 2 was meant to take place on a landmass big enough to allow horse travel, it'd only make sense to include a freshwater fishing spot, too.
Idk, after all the talk about the fishless Great Sea, the thought of WW Link fishing, let alone hauling the iconic Hylian Loach, makes me happy.

my splat3 sona! shes a funny anemone girl she's the heiress to the throne of a not-so-distant region called Choralia, populated by mostly sea anemones. She's in hiding though, since she doesnt want the responsibility of being queen and she's strictly anti monarchy. She has a purple clown fish named perseus who's constantly acting like she still wants to be the heiress. She moved to the splatlands from reef city, the capitol of choralia. She constantly has her headphones blasting loud music as a form of stimulation, as she enjoys the vibration. She runs a music store in splatsville called Medusa's Temple, but it's barely open cause she's out playing turf war and napping

The older brother to my other OC, Nova, Aries is literally just Some Guy. He moved to Inkopolis at around 16-18, and has been living there ever since, currently finding steady work at Grizzco (it kinda sucks but like. it pays the bills and stuff). Not much interesting happens to him, he just kinda lives his life, does his salmon run shifts, hangs out with friends... Normal stuff. His little sister moves to Inkopolis too when she's 14, and for a few years nothing happens until he visits her one day and one thing leads to another, and he discovers that she is Agent 3 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon! Also apparently his coworker at Grizzco is part of this too. But um... Okay. Sure. Whatever, as long as she's SAFE about it (is she? haha no. but aries doesn't need to know that <3). Eventually a few years after That he randomly gets a phone call from her and she's like "hey yknow your Job??" and hes like "yeah??" and she just tells him his boss is some mammal creature somehow and just tried to destroy the world. also hes banished to space now i guess. she does not elaborate. he still has to go into work that day. he seems Deeply Confused all day but whenever his coworkers ask hes like "....dont worry about it!" which doesn't actually help and probably just worries them given how he looks Confused and Concerned About Something but keeps being like "nothing is the matter dont worry about it" but really hes just in this constant state of "what. the hell actually??????" 'cause like. what is he even meant to Do with this information. it's not like he can do anything with it really But y'know, aside from whatever That is, he has a completely normal life, but also somehow people he knows keep ending up involved with that sorta thing and he's just. there. just trying to live a Normal Life despite all that going on. compared to my other splatoon ocs hes quite literally just Some Guy sdfghfd

Not really an update, but I'm working on a side project...
I'm sick today and it's messing with my productivity so I'm sharing with you guys a little sneakpeak on a side project ive been cooking up for a while. I'm not sure how well it be received since its more horror-oriented with no romance in it (the MC is a baby!) ; w; and it'll be my first time writing horror too. The project is in its very early stages, but when the time comes, maybe I'll make it's own tumblr blog for it.
I have some really old concept art is anyone is interested. Tho my artstyle and process very different from what it was 2-3 years ago. >//< This is a really long post so beware!!
Anyway, I've always wanted to work in the visual novel genre/Renpy, but being a newbie at the whole indie-dev thing makes it feel overwhelming, but since TSR's development is going somewhat smoothly, I've been thinking of giving it a shot! In the future once I finish the Twine version of TSR (probably years from now tbh) I'd like to take a crack at making it a visual novel. I am a visual artist a heart before anything else haha
Hence the side project! I'll be working on it in short bursts between updates, just to wind down and prevent burn out, but I plan to make the story in Twine first before working in Renpy. Anyway here a little sneak peak :)

There is something strange going on in this town...
You were nothing more than a dirty street urchin until you were scooped up by the young Percival Blackwood and whisked away to live in his newly inherited estate.
There is something going on in the eerie town of Grimvale, from its strange inhabitants to the even stranger events that have been happening ever since you stepped foot here. Even the new castle you call home is filled with mysteries around every corner. Some of them are more sinister than others…
Will you be able to uncover the mysteries of the town or will you succumb to the shadows over it?
Cast:
The Young Lord/Lady/ Honourable Blackwood: That's you. The dirty street urchin. Your life changed forever when Percival took you off the streets at the age of 8.
Percival “Percy” Blackwood: Your new father. He’s impulsive, eccentric and a bit nutty, but he certainly doesn’t make things boring around here. Apparently he went by another name before taking his grandfather's title.
Sylvia Blackwood (née Faulkner): Your new Mother. She’s aloof with a sharp tongue- but only to Percival it seems. She mostly tolerates your presence. You wonder what keeps her tied to Percival. Something tells you that it's more than just 'love'.
Abel Waxley: The head butler of the estate. He’s stern and sharp tongued to everyone who upsets the flow of his schedule. He’s one of the few people who can reign Percival in. He looks like he could use a vacation.
Amos Blackwood: The previous count and Percival's grandfather. He was a known hermit and an eccentric man before his timely demise. Only he knows all the secrets of the castle.
Balan ???: The strange older man who used to live in the castle with the late Count Blackwood. Were they lovers? Or just good friends?

Gecko Boy's Homestuck Thought-Dump: Act 4
I will periodically edit more as I progress.
Let's start nice and-
Oh. Oh no. Is this a troll? Is this what everyone obsessed over in the early 2010's? This terrifies me.
Anyway, Act 4's artstyle seems to be getting a lot more complex, which is always a nice change of pace from the standard black, white and grey housing.
Also the parcel mistress and Peregrine are literally the same person. This is an absolute fact.
This is unnecessarily funny. Bravo Vince.
The way GC types (and talks about smelling text) gives me undeniable dread. The way they talk about seeing Rose in the future gives undeniable dread. What do they know? Why do they want to help so badly?
Also apparently she's blind. Cool.
Rose is currently sitting in some weird rainbow oil land, while an entity in running-writing speaks to her. Hussie is really kicking up the palette now.
I cannot believe that John Egg Bert hates the blind. Unbelievable.
EB: do you have a braille screen or something?
And here we are. The trolls. Possibly the most iconic part of Homestuck itself. I think they're supposed to be opposites to the main pack (top-left is Dave, top-right is Rose, bottom-left is Jade and agitated guy is John).
John is getting help from GC, the bottom-left one, who apparently isn't supposed to helping, due to knowing John's future already and screwing with his timeline (canon event joke goes here).
Oh look! They are the same! Wonder what that means for Jack Noir and Spades Slick then...
EB: i'm in a rocket pack and i am about to blast off into space.
TG: ok
This is exactly how I'd expect to a 13-year-old to react. Very realistic writing.
John then blasts off into the seventh gate, with sweet Casey in custody.
Meanwhile, we get a glimpse of future? Dave busting some shit up. There's also some big artstyle changes as well! Kinda reminds me of something you'd see on ABC3 late at night.
Like look how sick and sleek this looks. Also Dave's got new drip.
He talks to Rose about how John and Jade fucking died (John got trolled, Jade got hit by the meteor) and how he's going to go back in time to fix it. However, this in turn will stop Rose's current timeline from existing, so she's going to the dreamworld to avoid being wiped.
Future Dave goes back in time to Past Dave, pesters John about it, and then fucking REPLACES THE BIRD, thereby BECOMING the sprite.
Look at this screenshot. What the actual fuck.
