Hi everyone! My name is Ivy and I paint pet portraits in watercolors. These are some of my favorite dog paintings I’ve done so far. I use a mix of Daniel smith paints and Holbein, on arches watercolor paper. (Cold-pressed paper is usually my go to for pet paintings!)

Artblr and Writeblr Intro

Hi, there! I go by Desi or Jasper (he/they, 30s). I'm a queer artist and writer who draws too many OCs, but that's what keeps my ship upright, so that's pretty okay I guess. Art as self-care with a nice side effect of pretty things to look at. I'm hoping you'll enjoy looking at 'em too!

Most of my art is of original characters and content related to Sunset, a serial I co-write and illustrate with my partner, @sunset-a-story. Check out their blog for more information about the serial, and here are some links to where you can read it!

Sunset follows an ensemble cast of (largely queer) superhuman people through a modern-setting, slow-burn adventure arc that encompasses themes of cloak-and-dagger action, romance, and even some monster hunting.

My art medium of choice is digital (procreate and clip studio), and I have also been dabbling in teaching myself to animate. Occasionally, I'll break out my sketch book and ink pens for some traditional work, too. Sometimes I take breaks from Sunset OCs to draw my ttrpg characters, silly little birds, or witchy things, and the veeeery occasional fan art.

I doodled these pumpkin girls a few weeks ago and while coloring them I’ve decided they’re a pop group called Jackie and the Lanterns

Just some haunted pumpkin girlies to kick off October. Feel free to draw them if you want (with credit obviously), I feel like they’d make a really fun dtiys for spooky season

And for your viewing pleasure, the original sketch using my shitty dollar store markers (because I’m bad at convincing myself that I deserve to use nice things) as well as the colored pumpkins with the paper texture and no background.

This started out as a silly doodle and became a bit of a texture experiment. When I started to color it on my iPad I decided I needed to shade with dots, which I haven’t really done much of before. Let me know if you have any tips for next time, I ended up making my own brush situation for them because I’m silly

And while I’ve got you here, Idk if I’ll do Inktober or anything adjacent this year, I’ve had mad burnout that I’m still struggling with, I can’t decide if Inktober would help me feel creative again or if it would make things worse.

I might try it out, don’t get your hopes up though, I make you no promises

Maybe I’ll post older Inktober stuff on here, since my tumblr is really sparse anyway

ps apologies for the alt text, I hope it’s helpful, I’m still figuring out how to use that in the most helpful way so any feedback would be appreciated :)
