Liberal double standards

Honestly the more I look back on Barbie the more I feel like it had less value beyond its production value. Sure, its messages were good, but the master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house. All of the whining about Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie not getting nominated for specific categories is peak white neoliberal feminism.
Honestly, the only good that I can hope for is that Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie take the time to center women of color in future projects that they have roles in because it might help treat the after effects of Barbie.

the “thanks obama” joke back in the day was pretty funny considering how republicans genuinely acted like obama wearing a tan suit or enjoying “pretentious” mustards was the height of villainy and debauchery (instead of you know, mass deportations, drone strikes, etc.) but if im being honest I don’t even think blaming obama for the legend of korra being bad is that much of a reach. i mean, when you really think about it, who else is more to blame?

Neoliberal capitalism has as much to do with Walmart, maquiladoras, and micro-credit as with Silicon Valley and Google. And its indispensable workers are disproportionately women, not only young single women, but also married women and women with children; not only racialized women, but women of virtually all nationalities and ethnicities. As such women have poured into labor markets around the globe, the effect has been to undercut once and for all stateorganized capitalism’s ideal of the family wage. In disorganized neoliberal capitalism, that ideal has been replaced by the newer, more modern norm of the two-earner family. Nevermind that the reality that underlies the new ideal is depressed wage levels, decreased job security, declining living standards, a steep rise in the number of hours worked for wages per household, exacerbation of the double shift—now often a triple or quadruple shift—and a rise in female-headed households. Disorganized capitalism turns a sow’s ear into a silk purse by elaborating a new romance of female advancement and gender justice.

Yuck 🤮
This is a perfect example of white feminism™ that supports an anti-abortion white male candidate over a pro-choice Black woman, while still espousing pro-choice rhetoric
You cannot be a progressive by voting for and empowering extremists

Don't just complain on social media about your government. Yeah, yeah, shouting into the void. Tell your representatives. You're allowed to do that. You can call, email or mail them a letter.
Tell them what you want them to do. Yes, they do need to be told. And told by you.

Marilyn Monroe was a foster child.
Sasha Gray was a foster child.
Both of these women became a sex symbol. Marilyn was a pin up model and famous movie star. Sasha was a porn star who was depicted in degrading scenes (and later spoke out against the porn industry she once advocated for. She has said she was coerced into the industry).
The foster care to sex trafficking pipeline has always been a problem. Girls that lack parents or a stable home life are especially vulnerable to sexual exploitation. In the age of the Internet and the porn industry however, the sadistic and misogynistic sexual abuse of women has become mainstream.
Girls age out of the foster care system and get sacrificed on the altar of pornography. Their rape is shared on Reddit subs under tags like "dead eyes" and "barely legal". Young boys consume porn and these scenes they watch become normalized. They adopt these sexual scripts as normal behaviour and they become the type of boys who think it's normal to choke, strangle, beat, degrade girls during sex.
Self proclaimed feminists defend the sex industry and dismiss the horrific cases of abuse in porn as outliers. They argue that "sex work is work" and that some women genuinely enjoy it. However, let me argue it this way. There is supply and demand. If the demand for prostitutes, porn stars or "sex workers" is high but the supply is low (meaning women don't want to do sex work), where will the supply come from? The answer is marginalized women. Women from foster care, homeless women, refugees, migrant women, racial minorities, substance dependant women.
And so, who will supply the demand for porn audiences who want to see taboo niche videos? What if the demand is for rough anal sex of a barely legal teen until she cries?
The recruitment of the sex industry is predatory. This is why sex trafficking victims are overwhelmingly women from foster care. When girls age out of care, they are disproportionately at risk for homelessness. Research the outcomes of foster kids.

Argentina is the first experiment in real existing Anarcho-Capitalism actually in power. And as has always been predicted, within days Right-Anarchism quickly turned into the most authoritarian statist fascism. Argentina is no stranger to neoliberal fascism, under the iron fist of the Junta regime him and his VP support. The brutality of the Junta regime was especially intense against Leftist women who were especially hated for subverting both the gender and political order.
Sarah Wakefield who lead protesters in a chant outside the Argentine Consulate in NYC, said that as a socialist woman she felt a special tie of solidarity and sisterhood with the Argentine struggle. Being an activist in the socialist movement has given her such a liberating sense of empowerment. And as a socialist woman she is horrified by the repulsive tactics Junta guards used to drain away our strength. Activist women around the world need to take this personally and say Nunca Más, never again to this level of sexualized oppression against us. In the past even center-right governments in Latin America had condemned the crimes of Juntas. But with Kast and Milei openly celebrating these regimes, it is a live not a historic issue. It is so crucial that we make this anti-Junta movement global.
