hi I love your blog we have very much the same opinions in everything except klamille is my favourite klaus ship and klaurora is second

I have been trying to enjoying klaus fics or any tvdu fics on wattpad but every thing I have read so far doenst show the characters accurately which is very annoying

I was hoping and want to request if you could give me some recommendations on fics on wattpad that are good. (Mainly klaus but any love interest would be good)

Don't worry, you're not sounding rude at all, if anything you actually sound really sweet. I'm glad we share some opinions and I'm really honored you came to me for some suggestions.

I haven't read long fanfictions in a while outside works in ao3, I left Wattpad a few time ago but I'll still try my best, tho I'm not very good at giving summaries. Fair warning these are mainly fanfics I've read in Archive of Our Own, not Wattpad, but I hope it's not a problem. If it annoys you, send me an ask and I'll give you some Wattpad recommendations!

Summary:

I think we've all read those kind of tvdu fanfics where the main character is a teenager, usually related to the Gilbert or the Forbes, still in high school and who suddenly stops trying to make a life for herself just because she gets dragged into the supernatural world. Well, Patisserie is the opposite of that. For once, the main character isn't a teen but an adult around her twenties, who works at a bakery and is completely unaware of the supernatural world until Klaus decides to change that.

The slow burn is is truly worthy of a chef's kiss, the way the author describes and writes the Mikaelson is just so on point it hurts. Their family dynamic is so entertaining to watch, but it's as fucked up as it is in the show, which it's something not many authors can accomplish. The way they behave around the main character, a simple human, it's so amusing because they truly know nothing despite their age and she's just so easy to relate to, because for once the oc is not ridiculously overpowered.

The way we perceive the Mikaelson and the vampire world from a human pov is truly interesting, how she copes with all of it and eventually learns to love all of them individually while being aware of the danger is so well done. Kol and her, as well as her relationship with Klaus, are particularly interesting to read, especially considering how they all behaved around her at the beginning and especially because both of them are the most dangerous members of their family. They are all selfish creatures, and I love how it shows the more their relationships with her develop.

Summary;

You know those fanfics who fix (almost) everything problematic in canon? Apotheosis does exactly that. In this story, Klaus isn't a complete irredeemable character for once, but he also isn't half as bad as his canon version, and due to the oc being a werewolf, this fanfic does expand on his werewolf side a little more than The Vampire Diaries or The Originals ever did. His family and him actually have a healthy bond, and Finn gets the recognition he deserves for once.

The story is set in season three of TVD, exactly when Klaus and Stefan are trying to make hybrids for his pack, and in a ironic plot twist, Klaus decides to take you with him when you're still a werewolf after you say you're not worthy to be a hybrid, at least not yet.

Her devotion to him is completely endearing and I absolutely love how Klaus actually cares for his pack, especially because they're all canonical characters who were killed way too quickly. Her relationships with the members of their pack are so well written, and this fanfic it's the perfect mix of humour and seriousness. It has a ongoing sequel, which I just adore. I warn you though, all the characters have several differences from their canon versions.

Twisted Obsession (fanfiction.net, Klaus x original female character) by rocket-queen98;

Summary;

Lola is one of the most adorable mc I've read. She is human and around nineteen, if I remember correctly, and just a sweet girl and adorable. She's introduced into the supernatural world thanks to baby Hope, who is just the cutest, due to her needing a mother figure now that Hayley wasn't present in her life thanks to the curse placed on her.

Her relationship with Hope is my favorite part of the whole fanfic. She doesn't suddenly turn into her mother, she doesn't intend to either, but rather becomes her best friend and Klaus and her develop a bond thanks to this. The way father and daughter interact is so heartwarming too, the subtle hints of them being werewolves, and seeing a main character having a good relationship with her father for once is a good turn, especially in tvd fanfics.

It's clear Klaus and Lola have something going on, even if they won't admit out loud, but for some reason the people around them give the impression they don't actually want them to date. There is implications something more fucked up than usual is going on with Klaus and his relationships, and I'm pretty sure him and Cami were a thing in this fic too. Surprisingly, Hayley and Cami aren't turned into absolute bitches, but there is Jackson bashing though.

The Girl in the Forest (fanfiction.net, Klaus x original female character) by noblecrescent;

Stats: Originals, T, English, Mystery & Romance, chapters: 30, words: 311k+, favs: 232, follows: 176, updated: Feb 19, 2017 published: Jan 23, 2016, [Klaus M., OC] [Elijah M., Camille O'Connell]

Summary;

This fanfic is a tetralogy of books set in The Originals, I read those fanfics a while ago so forgive me for any mistake. Maleny is a witch who was cursed, if I remember correctly, and was constantly body-jumping every short time.

In one of her lives, she met Klaus and they fell in love, but she died, if I'm not wrong, and they end up meeting again in New Orleans time later where he has a child on the way and a kingdom to conquer.

I can't remember a lot more without giving you spoilers, but it's worth checking it out!

Now, I'll give no more summaries because I honestly don't remember a lot of the next fanfics, but it's your choice if you want to read them;

Summary;

I just could not not recommend this fanfic. Mia comes to Mystic Falls to seek revenge after Damon kills her best friend Lexi, but she of course gets dragged by the problems in that little town.

The thing I like the most about Via's story is how there is no cliché: no bashing towards Tyler or Elena, Mia actually befriends them, Bonnie gets the recognition and love she deserves, Klaus doesn't suddenly turn into a different person just because he loves the oc, he continues to be a piece of shit, and how sweet and empathetic she is, not like those reused badass mc who are just rude.

I would recommend some more, but it's kinda hard to find fanfics with a good Klaus depiction. I'm pretty sure I left out a lot of amazing fanfics, though.

I plot on Tumblr and write on Discord but I'm willing to do everything on Discord, if you prefer it that way. scenario: you met when you were both very young, and since the day he left you behind he still feels an undying fear for what sight would await him if he dared to return home.

thantophobia - the fear of losing a loved one. but he had made it perfectly clear that you did not fall under that category when he left you and all of your promises behind.

request: okok my first idea was: scaramouche childhood friends to enemies to lovers. take with that what you will <3

a/n: hi anon ty so very much for the request we all know i love scara <33 but i did tweak it a bit basically its childhood friends to enemies to scara loves reader but reader isnt convinced (with a hint of 'ive always loved you' thrown in)

side note: this is a rewrite of an excerpt i wrote for a scara x oc, in which the oc was female (the same is said here but i will avoid using pronouns) and adopted into the kamisato clan as a princess (minor inazuma spoilers). the same situation is stated here. also i am 1000% willing to write more of this (includes my personal headcanons for scaramouche’s backstory, not canon!!)

growing up, you had always had poor health

your mother worried for you a lot when you were younger

she didn’t like to let you go outside much either

you spent most of your time in the palace walls while she worked, frequently being taken to see the royal physician

you would sit outside the door while your parents talked with the doctors about your “condition”

you weren’t even that sick

just weak for your age

that was when you first met him

he was training to be a soldier along his father

you were like a ghost in his eyes

sitting in the hall in the middle of the night

knees pushed to your chest, snoozing in the soft light of the moon

he was naturally a curious boy, so he kneeled in front of you and poked your shoulder

“hello?”

you startled awake

“wah-!” he fell back at your sudden movement

“who are you?” you asked

your voice was soft, and gentle, like a midnight breeze

“i’m [redacted].”

you remember what he told you, but some part of that memory had been erased from your mind…you wonder to this day what he could have said.

“my name is y/n.”

he thought it was a pretty name, although he wasn’t going to say anything

the two of you sat in the moonlight, talking quietly amongst yourselves

“why are you sitting outside the physician’s office?” he asked you

“my mama says i’m sick, and that going outside will make it worse.”

“oh. are you going to get better soon?”

you smile at him, a gesture that makes his chest tighten, although he can’t fathom why.

“yeah! she says that if we can afford to get some medicine from liyue, i’ll be all better! then i can start making friends!”

he slightly smiles

“can i be your friend, [redacted]?”

you had even said the name yourself once. why couldn’t you remember it?

his expression shifts to a slightly surprised look

“you…want to be my friend?”

he was quiet even then, and his silent expression would grow to an angry one over time

“yeah! you’re interesting, and you’re one of the few people who bothers to talk to me.”

he doesn’t speak for a while.

“you can say no if you want to.” you say to him.

“okay. i’ll be your friend.”

it’s a short response, but the bright grin that lights up your face makes it worth the wait

“yay! i can’t wait till i’m better so we can hang out more!”

you two talked in that hallway a lot

meeting after dark, talking about anything in the world

when you were about six, the worst of your illness hit you

the doctors didn’t even know what was wrong, and there were nights when he would sit outside the physician’s office alone at night, hoping, praying that the sun would shine on a world that still had you in it

you would collapse from exhaustion at the slightest overexertion

his father always told him he had to be careful with you, not only were you shorter than him, but you were also very fragile

those hours spent sitting in the hallway alone, he got to do a lot of thinking

he wanted to help you, but he didn’t know how

then, there was a sudden burst of hope

you were going to liyue with your parents

you would get the help you needed

he was happy for you, even if it meant you would have to spend time away from him

and then there was the terrible news

the ship had gone missing

you had too

he couldn’t sleep for days on end

his father was worried too

when he saw you again, you found yourself shuddering on the shores of inazuma

he wrapped his arms around you as tight as he could, as if his strength alone could undo everything that had happened

it was one of the few times he showed affection in public

he rushed you to the healer again

and this time there was no hoping

there was no praying

there was just the pit in his stomach, the fear that coursed through his veins and fueled his blood

every second felt like a decade, it was a moment in which you weren’t perfectly healthy and safe

the townspeople began to spread rumors, as people do

the guard’s son who was lovesick with worry for the sickly orphan girl

what a pity, no?

he wanted to shut them up. he wished he had the power to shut them up.

when even his father had to drag him away from the pharmacy, he didn’t talk to anyone for a very long time.

this was around the time he grew sour and snappy

his simply quiet demeanor developed into a scowl that constantly graced his face

he only smiled the day you were released from the physicians.

you weren’t fully healed. but you felt better than you ever had in your life.

his father took you in without a second thought, and he was just happy to have you with him.

“i’m better, scara.” you said to him, a happy smile on your face

“i was wondering when you’d hurry up and get well.”

you were a bit troubled by his attitude, but no less, you were happy to see your friend again.

it went like that for a long time.

he was rude, but you didn’t care because you knew what he was like underneath.

some nights he would sneak into your room and talk to you.

he told you he was just bored and felt like annoying you.

but his real reason was to make sure you were still breathing.

he always worried about you

so the day you received your vision, he felt a lot of relief

surely this meant that you could protect yourself. you were safe.

then the worst of all things happened.

his fathers death.

the day he felt like his world was ripped from underneath his feet.

almost immediately, the electro archon, baal, herself, intervened, and declared that you were to be adopted into the kamisato clan.

why you? why couldn’t he keep you with him? he was old enough to be able to take care of both of you

baal didn’t like his questioning. she said she knew what was best for you.

it was strange. because in the days he spent with you after, although not many, you didn’t seem sick at all.

for the first time, you seemed perfectly healthy.

he was glad for that…but he wasn’t happy. you could see that easily.

you knew this wasn’t the right thing for him

he stuck around for a year. you suppose you’re lucky he even stayed that long. you were pretty much his only reason.

sure he found friends in ayaka and kazuha…but he was unhappy.

he knew there was no point in staying, so he thought it was time he took his leave.

he approached you one day, as the sun began to set

you were worried for him, as he had been very angry towards baal and the emperor lately.

“scara, is there something you want to talk about?”

you watch as he stands before you

he blurts out, “run away with me.”

you’re taken aback almost immediately.

“what?”

he repeats his statement

“i’m going to flee from inazuma. come with me.”

“scara..”

his expression, as it does often these days, turns stern and serious.

“i’m not going to ask you again. come with me, y/n.”

you’re tired of him ordering you around.

“you know i can’t. i have duties here. i can’t just betray my country for you.”

“you know baal wants me gone. she’s going to kill me if i stay. she might do the same to you.”

you scoff at his words. “she won’t harm me or you. you’re being dramatic.”

he spits out his next words, laced with venom. “baal killed my father. i hate her and so should you.”

“scara.”

“it’s like you’ve completely forgotten about him just because you’re royalty now.”

“scara.”

“don’t call me scara. come with me if you ever cared at all.”

“scaramouche!”

he goes quiet

“don’t go. please.”

he frowns

“you know i can’t do that.”

you want to try and make him stay

but he won’t. you know nothing you say will convince him. he won’t let himself be convinced by you, even if that’s what he truly wants.

you inhale

“get out of here.”

“what?”

“go. leave. and take this with you.”

you throw the necklace you were wearing at him, and he catches it. baal had exiled him, it was true, but he couldn’t expect you to throw everything away for him.

“wait, what are you-“

as the two of you stare each other down, you hear ayaka’s voice coming from the courtyard, calling for you.

she has a guard with her, as the emperor assigns every royal family member. you managed to ditch yours early on.

“the guard is gonna get you if you stay, scara. get out of here, now.”

he scoffs

“whatever. i can’t believe i thought you were worth risking my life.”

he pockets the necklace and steps over the wall, and he’s gone.

nine years of friendship and he threw you away like you were nothing

in truth, the minute he was out of sight, he threw down his bag in anger

he turned around and you weren’t there anymore

you gave up on him

so if he hated you, you deserved it

it might be worth a hefty price anyway.

at least that’s what he told himself

(he never stopped missing you. almost as soon as he joined the fatui, he requested an audience with the tsaritsa to ask her how you were doing.)

“a simple agent, asking that much of me? and for a girl? that’s very bold of you.”

upon hearing it was about you, the cryo archon grew very interested. of course she remembered you.

the sickly orphan she gifted a vision to at a very young age.

she told him you were well

what she didn’t tell him was about baal going berserk and massacring thousands of her people.

upon receiving the news, he felt that chill upon him once again

the fear that fell onto his shoulders, weighing him down, too scared to ask for more information. he didn’t want to be told you were gone.

“the royal family was not harmed.”

he felt his muscles relax as he calmed down.

he quickly reassumed an upright stance.

he was the sixth harbinger. he has no weaknesses. he cares for nothing and no one.

but beneath his mask, the fire of his love for you burned brighter than the flame of any pyro vision.

Who all do you ship Petrel with? I ship him with an OC, so I'm curious. ^^

I ship Petrel with a few different canon characters rn! Most of this as a result of rp all of these are mlm ships I am just gay and projecting a little jgfhvdgn

I do first up enjoy Proton x Petrel aka Olympicshipping but it's one of the popular. Executive on Executive ships I simply think them causing problems together is really entertaining they have some really interesting chemistry compared to other execs personality wise with them being more silly in the games. I do like to think they have difficulty admitting these feelings at first though rocket is a tough place, fully relaxing between them might be an issue due to the circumstances

Second up is Petrel x Piers aka Partyrockshipping, this ship was like a accidentally wormed it's way into my heart while role-playing him, this dynamic is mostly based on them having similar interests in the punk scene, this takes up as a pretty surprsingly healthy relationship, but brings up moral conflict in Petrel over dating someone outside of rocket as he does really care about him. So fluff with angst. This one is the most soft with them both able to let their guard down.

Third up is Petrel x Raihan aka Eternatusshipping, another ship existing from rp but more intentional this one is alot actually sort of exists off of Raihan being and Idol and Petrels Disguise deal making them both really fake people that can tell eachother is fake, the idea is taking comfort in eachother in a rather fake reality they live in, but they struggle really hard to be truthful to one another, one day they'll get it it's just gonna take awhile, it's a subject of conflict between eachother as Raihan struggles to trust Petrel due to rocket, I swear they're in love they're just kinda fucked up.

Honorable mention is Colress x Petrel aka Methlabshipping but I haven't really written or drawn anything of it in forever I just think they would be evil in a funny couple way Idk something a little unhinged abt them.

As many as you want! Some people gain new F/Os almost every day (like myself) while others only have one F/O that they focus on. Have as many F/Os as you want, in whatever categories you want! Go ham, live your life, cringe culture is dead and we’re dancing the YMCA on its grave.

Can I have multiple romantic F/Os from the same source?

Absolutely! There’s nothing wrong with that!

How do I handle having multiple romantic F/Os from the same source?

There are a couple options for that. One would be having a poly ship with them, where you would date all/multiple F/Os in the same universe. Another option would be to create different universes for each F/O. By this, I mean you would have a story/universe set where your self insert is dating one F/O, and then you would create another universe in which your self insert dates a different F/O.

Isn’t self shipping for kids?

Hell no it’s not. The most common reason for self shipping is to cope with issues such as mental illness, day to day life problems, physical disabilities, etc. Everybody needs a coping method.

Do I have to self ship to cope or can I ship for fun?

You can totally ship for fun!! It’s just a popular coping mechanism, but that doesn’t mean that’s why everyone does it. There are a ton of people that self ship just because they find it fun. And that’s super great!

Is self shipping healthy? How do I know if I’m being unhealthy about it?

Answering this is kinda tough, because overall, I would say yes, it’s very healthy, when done properly. It can be, and in almost all cases, usually is a very useful and effective coping method, but like all things, there are ways to overdo it.

If your self shipping begins to hurt you or anyone else, it’s usually best to take a step back. If you find that you become dependent on the praise an attention from others because of your ships, it’s time to step back. If you find yourself feeling more upset and down because of your ships instead of feeling happy to be in them, it’s important to reassess your situation.

Very important: If you find that you are lashing out at others or becoming hostile towards other people as a result of your self ships, TAKE A STEP BACK. Jealousy over F/Os is common, but the moment you lash out at someone else about it, you’ve taken it too far. Self shipping is inherently not meant to harm anyone, that’s the point. If you’re using your ships to hurt other people, you’re doing it wrong, end of story.

Is it wrong that I don’t like seeing other people ship with my romantic F/Os?

Not at all! Since self shipping is a very personal thing, many people tend to feel uncomfortable seeing other people that self ship with their romantic F/Os. It’s important to put this information somewhere on your profile to let people know whether you’re comfortable sharing or not. If needed, always feel free to block blogs and tags so you won’t see those ships. Self ship is your safe space, make it to your liking.

As stated before, the one thing that is NOT okay is harassing someone because of your self ships. One of the most unhealthy things one can do is to attack other shippers that ship with their romantic F/Os. Stay in your lane, please, and respect other shippers. They love that character too. They have feelings too. We’re all people, just block and move on, please.

I ship canon characters with my own original characters that I don’t consider to be me. Am I part of the community?

I personally say yes! It might be best to specify that you ship canon x OC and not canon x self insert, as there is a difference, but you’re absolutely welcome in the community! We’re both communities battling cringe culture and saying fuck canon, and that’s very powerful. If you don’t personally feel the same towards the canon characters as your OCs do then a lot of the content put out by others might not resonate with you, but there are plenty of people that ship OC x canon rather than specifically self ship!

I want to F/O a character, but they’re from a strange/childish/obscure/etc. source. Can I still F/O them?

ABSOLUTELY YOU CAN. Self shipping is for YOU and YOU ALONE. This community has source materials of all kinds! Some people F/O popular anime characters, others F/O characters from book series they enjoy, other people F/O characters from cartoons they watched as kids. The possibilities are endless! It doesn’t matter how “strange” you might think your F/O will come off as. And obscure characters are so much fun to F/O! You’ll be supported, and anyone who doesn’t support you for having “weird” and/or obscure F/Os is an ass. :D

I don’t feel any need for relationships in real life, but I enjoy dating fictional characters./I am not attracted to (gender identity) in real life but I am attracted to fictional characters of this identity. Is that okay?

Totally! This is a whole different world. You don’t have to want t date someone like your F/O in real life in order to be a valid self shipper. Some people decide to change their orientation of their self inserts to match their relationships with characters. And in fact, there is a portion of people that identify as fictosexual, which as far as Im aware, is on the aroace spectrum and means you feel attraction to fictional characters! I’m not too well versed in the whole thing, but it’s out there. 😊 No matter what your orientation is in real life, it doesn’t have to match the orientation or desire for relationships of your self inserts.

Yue’s giggles carried in the warm breeze effortlessly. Her cheeks were a blushing red, and most likely hurting, from smiling so much.

She was practically bouncing, swaying side to side with arms outstretched, her hands caressing the tall grass. Another adorable giggle escaped her lips, the grass tickling her palms and inciting the sweetest music the world had to offer.

“Love?” I mused, sporting a smile of bashfulness, watching how enthusiastic Yue looked at the moment. The cherry blossoms falling around her, a few tangling themselves in her hair – an absolute masterpiece.

“Gosh, Zuko. I never knew this was part of the gardens! It’s so pretty.”

“Mmm, it’s under construction, at the moment, love. That’s why everything is overgrown.” I mumbled, too busy watching the small gestures of Yue. But she merely shook her head, smiling radiantly as she leaned over to every flower, smelling them to her heart’s content.

“I kind of like it like this…all overgrown. I feel like I’m in another world…Kiyi would have a blast here.” she whispered delicately, appreciating the beauty in everything her eyes fell upon. My lips curved upwards, walking a few steps in front of her, letting her trail behind as she picked up flowers for the vase in our bedroom.

She really does have a pure soul…

While Yue loved to get pampered, every night showing off her newest dress or pestering me to try out a face mask – she never did ask for much. Much of everything she got were gifts. So, when I asked her what she wanted the most, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t surprised by her answer; ‘a walk in the gardens with you. That’s all I ever want, is you.’

The sun was high in the sky, casting shadows over our bodies through the tall trees. No wonder my stomach is starting to growl. “We should start heading back, love. It’s close to lunch.” I hummed over my shoulder, already envisioning the pout forming on her lush lips with a string of protests to match.

But as my pace slowed, ready to feel her arms wrap around my waist from behind, a cold shiver ran up my spine. I didn’t hear a single thing from her, nor feel.

I frowned, looking over my shoulder, momentarily, “Love?”

Nothing.

The speed at which I turned on my heel was unfathomable; eyes narrowed as I swiftly scanned behind me. I could hear my heart thumping rapidly, palms sweaty. But the real kicker was when the realization of the situation hit me, my face paling instantly – she’s gone.

“Yue!” I shouted, frantically searching around me. Where in the world could she have gone? Did she fall somewhere? Fuck, I wasn’t paying attention-

“YUE!” I shouted once again, this time louder, rougher – striding forward as I pushed back the tall grass and bushes in search. Fuck-fuck-fuck-

The lush scenery around me looked like a maze, no longer finding the beauty in it anymore. I lost Yue. She could be hurt somewhere. Come on, Zuko – you know better. You should have been paying attention. If something happened to her-

“YUE! Yue, where are-”

Giggles.

My head snapped upwards, eyes darting side to side at the sound. I knew that damn giggles by heart, and I held my breath when I heard it again.

I could hear her, but I couldn’t see her.

“Aren’t you a cutie! I wish I could take you home…” she whispered, almost cooing as if she was talking to a baby. She has to be close by, but why can’t I see her? Carefully, I inched forward, the sound of the grass crunching under my feet sounding like thunder. Where in the world is Yue?

“Oh! You’re a mommy! Your babies are so cute; I could just eat you all up-wait-no, that’s not what I meant Mrs. Rabbit-”

She sounds so clear, so close-

Cautiously pushing aside another bunch of grass, I found my feet stilling, letting out the heavy breath I was holding this whole time.

Yue was crouched, sitting on her knees and dirt covering the hem of her dress as she cupped her face in her hands. Her gold eyes were wide, mouth open as she squealed in delight at the sight in front of her – a family of rabbits.

The momma rabbit’s nose twisted upwards, sniffing obnoxiously towards my direction, before bolting, her babies following suit. It was then I saw that infamous pout of Yue’s paint her face, huffing to herself, “Don’t go…Kiyi would love you guys.” She whispered under her breath.

She’s okay; she’s safe-

“Oh, Zuko! Did you see the rabbits! They were so cute-” Yue rambled, jumping to her feet as she tried to dust off the soil that clung to her dress. My shoulders dropped, fingers pinching my nose, this woman-

“I thought I lost you, Yue-” I started with a frown.

Yue’s eyes widened at my bubbling annoyance, the scowl on my face evident. Her fingers twirled in front of her, brows pressed as she inched her way closer to me.

“I told you I was following the rabbits…”

“I didn’t hear you say that-”

“That sounds like a you problem,” Yue mumbled under her breath, before letting her hands fall over my chest.

“Sharp tongue, you got there, love.”

“I learned from the best.” She chirped, inching on her tippytoes, her nose brushing against mine. And at that moment, I realized how tense I was, breathing hard. Slowly I eased, watching the way she smiled glowingly, nibbling on her lip as she hummed to herself.

“I’m sorry, Zuko. I didn’t mean to scare you…I got excited…I should’ve been more careful.” My hand fell over her head, pulling her to my chest as I let out a long sigh.

“I was worried, love. I thought something happened to you. Don’t pout when I tightened that leash I got on you.” I bothered, feeling the way she laughed under her breath into my robes at my dry joke. Yue’s okay; she’s okay…

I let my face snuggle into Yue’s hair, taking in her natural scent that always seemed to effortlessness ease my nerves. The most stressful thirty seconds of my life, might I add.

But I couldn’t help but smile hearing her hushed words, feeling her arms wrap about my waist, “You’ll never lose me, Zuko…I’ll always be with you.”

Together, forever, love.

> Bed sharing / cuddles (As long as it doesn’t progress to sex… I have to be in the right mindset for that and 9.5 times out of 10 I’d rather have snuggles).

> Quick, casual, absentminded kisses. Convince me this character’s instinct is to express affection even when they’re distracted and you have me eating out of your hand.

> Kisses in awkward places… Up against walls, quickly stolen while the third wheel is out of the room, couple trying to hide even though their friends ship them and no one present will judge them for a kiss… Yes. The more uncomfortable the position or time, the better. Love that spontaneous cute.

(Below the cut. Keep in mind these are my personal preferences and I’m not attacking anyone who likes tropes I dislike. This isn’t a comprehensive list, just some thoughts about tropes I don’t enjoy reading).

> Redemption through romantic love. So. Much.

> Everybody Lives AUs

> Soulmates

> Forbidden love

> Amnesia

> Coffee Shop AUs (I’m all for “In the future this character gets a job” stories, but I dislike “I’m going to flirt with this person while they’re in a position they can’t leave” stories)

> Psychic powers / Twins can read minds. It’s not an immediate deal-breaker, but my interest will drop sharply.

> Falling in love way too quickly / confusing infatuation with genuine love and the moral of the story is that you should risk your life plans and dive headfirst into relationships with people you don’t know well yet (I didn’t watch The Sun Is Also a Star, but the trailers pushed ALL my wrong buttons).

> Physical touch is the only or most important way to express affection. I’m all for love language miscommunication stories. I don’t like being told those who don’t express physical touch easily are frigid or uncaring.

> Big rescue scenes in romance (Ex: Hero carrying love interest from a burning building… I’d rather see hero helping love interest up a tough patch of the trail they’re hiking, or leaving a party to find their partner a dessert they’re not allergic to, something small and affectionate like that).

> Asexual invalidation/correction stories (Related: Virgin mockery). I don’t mind reading these if the main character is asexual and it’s a story about sexuality exploration or a character facing difficulties because they’re ace (That’s what Origin of the Pixies is, after all), but if the author legitimately believes asexuality needs to be fixed or that ace characters can’t be in fulfilling relationships, that’s what I don’t like.

> Canon: *Characters state they don’t want to be together romantically* Fanfic: *Makes them romantic* As a reader, I’m willing to let you take my hand if you show me careful thought processes and honest conversations while the characters work through changes together in early chapters, but if there’s absolutely no explanation (or indication that backstory will be given later) and the story just starts with them together for some reason… I won’t play along.

> When two people in canon are very close but not an official romantic couple and the only ‘fics about them are romantic. I don’t mind some stories being romantic, especially if they’re set in the future of canon, but if I can’t find more than a tiny handful of ‘fics that match their canon relationship, I get frustrated.

> Oh, here’s a trope I despise with the intensity of a thousand suns… Animals that are not dogs behaving like dogs (Ex: Maximus the horse in Tangled). Other animals are interesting too!

> I dislike a lot of angst tropes in general. I like psychological horror, like the slow recognition of your own sins (which is probably why I write villain backstories). A loved one dying in your arms, or trapped inside a burning house, does nothing to me. You could not get farther from affecting me if you tried. My heart will break if someone hesitates in an otherwise cheery story and the other person staggers back, realizing things aren’t as perfect as they thought. I live for moments where the bliss suddenly snaps and in an instant, everything’s changed. But deaths drawn out with gasps and bleeding, or houses going up in flames, don’t really land. … I’m realizing now that the reason I don’t like romantic stories is probably because most of them revolve around expressing affection the literal opposite way of how I prefer it (Ex: Way more stories about physical touch and making out until impulsive sex occurs, not enough quick kisses in passing or time spent existing quietly on the same couch enjoying your separate hobbies).

I don’t inherently hate romance, I just have different romantic preferences than the media that usually crosses my path. I’m more about companionate love than fiery passion. It’s hard to convey the comfortable silence I like in words.

1. First ship you ever wrote fic for:

I think it was Cullen x Inquisitor when I was on my second playthrough of DA:I. I needed some fluff after the heartbreak Trespasser caused me with my solavellan romance and Cullen and a mage Trevelyan held good potential. I started with little snippets and ficlets until my healing touches au came into my mind. (I’m still writing that story, but I’m slow af.)

2. Ship you write the most now

Alistair x Warden. Absolutely. They’re such a good ship I can’t not write snippets for them from time to time. (And I think I’m obsessed with my Cousland a little too much.)

3. Ship you read the most now:

Hm, I think this is Alistair x Warden, too? I used to read tons of solavellan and Cullen fics (and I still do) but as I said, Alistair stole my heart and my Cousland’s forever.

4. Newest ship:

Brienne x Jaime form Game of Thrones. I liked their dynamics from the start and they clearly respect each other and I just love both of them as characters. I shipped them since season 3 I guess, (or season 4?) but after the 2nd episode of season 8 I was screaming inside again when they finally interacted after a really long time. They grew a lot through the series (especially Jaime) and I’m all in for their character development.

I just want them to smooch, just once, okay?

5. Rare ship you wanna read more of:

Solas with non-Lavellan OCs, especially if he has a relationship with a human. He, an ancient elf who is so proud--of himself and his people too--and he falls in love with someone he despised earlier. Just endless angst and pining. Perfect.

The other is Alistair x Inquisitor. How they meet, how he suffers from the Calling and the Inquisitor from the Anchor, how they still grieve after they lost their loved ones (the Warden and Clan Lavellan), THE FADE... Aaahh just so much potential, so much possibility for that sweet-sweet angst.

6. Your taboo ship:

I think I don’t have one, I just ship whoever I think would make a good couple with someone. It’s not necessarily a healthy relationship of course, but I love good stories more than happy endings so...

7. They never met in canon ship:

Cullen x Avenia (my mage OC). In that worldstate Max is Inquisitor and she died at the Conclave with the rest of the mages so they could’ve never met in canon.

8. Your unexpected ship:

Blackwall x Adaar. I made a Qunari Inquisitor just to romance him. I love stories with different characters falling in love and they’d make such a nice couple. I’m not a huge fan of Blackwall but he deserves a big lady who can crush anyone with her thighs.

9. The ship you always forget to give love to:

Merribela and f!Hawke x Varric. I played DA2 only once (I loved it nonetheless) but I forget to think about them as often as I do with my main ships. Oh, and Blackwall x Adaar. Give me some giant ladies and that beardy man.

10. Ship your OC with a canon character (if applicable):

We do this all the time with Dragon Age sooo...

11. Ship you’re embarrassed to ship:

I ship something because I like it and I have no shame doing what makes me happy.

12. Your most romantic ship:

Any ship with Alistair, really. It’s just has everything I want in a god romance: a caring, honest man with good humor, fighting in battles together, traveling and of course drama and tragedy. *chef kiss*

13. Your sexiest ship:

Cullen x Avenia, definitely. There is so much tension between them, it’s delicious.

14. Your most tragic ship:

Solavellan won first place in this, I think you all know why. The second is Alistair x Cousland remaining Grey Wardens. There is sooo much angst.

As I said earlier, Alistair x Inquisitor and Blackwall x Adaar, I just love them.

2019 Megaman Valentine’s Day Contest Rules Post

It’s year number 12 of lovey dovey-buku contest art, and I’m back at it again. No secret categories, no surprise themes. These are just the two options you all voted on the most, this time around. Let’s do it!

Two categories, in which you are allowed to submit one entry for each category, if you would like. If you place in one category, you will be automatically disqualified from the other, for reasons of fairness, and to give other people a chance to win a prize.

CATEGORY 1: The Way To A Mega Man’s Heart Is Through His Stomach (Talent)

Content Requirements:

* A pinup category focusing on Mega Man characters who are cooking, baking, eating, feeding their partner, lounging on or around supersized pieces of food, or creatively wearing clothing that appears to be made out of aesthetically appealing food products. Basically, some sort of delectable food must be drawn along with at least one character.

* As this is the talent category, judging will be based primarily on the overall composition of your piece and your artistic skills. How well can you bring delicious, appetizing food to life, along with your delicious, appetizing character(s)?

Who says robots can’t enjoy food? Certainly not Fully Charged Guts Man. XD

A popular proverb has long held that one can often fall deeper in love due to their partner preparing their favorite food or sharing a romantic meal with one another. There have been many instances of Mega Man characters who would likely operate in a similar fashion, due to their love for their fave dishes. Netto has his insatiable craving for curry, while his papa Yuuichirou’s palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy, as he holds his fork waiting for mama’s spaghetti. Megaman Volnutt wants his sweets so badly, he’d kick a vending machine to pieces to get them, or bug the lady at Jetlag Bakery for those yummy confectioneries. Kelvin Stelar went a more healthy route and loved carrots as much as his wife’s homemade carrot gratin. And don’t forget the delicious cake waiting for Ashe or Grey in the fridge of Hunter’s Camp 4.

So, your task for this category is to draw the Mega Man character(s) of your choice tempting their Valentine with some delicious food. Some sweets for their sweetie, if you will. But the character you draw can be pretty tempting themselves, to go along with their treats. Create a tastefully seductive combo meal that will leave our mouths watering for more!

Now remember, as much as some of you out there might have first thoughts to draw some melons, bananas and glazed honey buns, this category is not meant to get explicit. No frontal nudity is allowed. So please follow tumblr brand censorship guidelines™ when creating your art, or it will be flagged, hidden from the public and not included in the competition. ;p

CATEGORY 2: Princess Sigmia Returns (Humor)

Content Requirements:

* A Megaman character who takes the primary form of another, opposite gender Megaman character due to a magical crown/mystery tank/navigator’s headset/biometal/battle chip/etc. This character is looking for love this Valentine’s Day. How they attempt to obtain a date/partner is up to you.

* As this is the humor category, judging will be based primarily on how funny your piece is. Consideration will also be given to a lesser degree on your creativity in combining your characters into a hybrid, and your overall design for them. But the point of this category is to make us laugh!

Following 2018’s hottest videogame art trend, that of the genderbent transformation of Bowser and crew into Princess Peach-looking alternate forms of themselves, it’s time to continue that spin with more Mega Man characters.

Looking to clean up real nice in the ultimate battle body for a night of love and romance, Princess Sigmia is ready to hit the club/restaurant/park/etc., and this time she’s brought friends.

Your goal for this category is to create the funniest romantic scenario this hybrid character can get into on Valentine’s Day. What made them use this magical, transformative item? What are the reactions of other characters to this newly made up character, who resembles someone they thought they knew? Let your imagination run wild, and draw most hilarious creation you can come up with!

There are no restrictions on what characters you merge, and no, you don’t have to stick with my combination of Sigma and Alia. You can base your transformations off of heroes or villains, minor enemies or main characters. It just has to follow the similar format of gaining the appearance of a familiar character of the opposite gender, while still retaining some characteristics of the original character. So, whether you create Mistress Ashebert, Mega Man VolBonne, Rainbow Cieldevil, Prince Praika, or Crimson Akane, the combinations are all up to you!

PRIZES:

It’s the usual, ‘get-what-you want’ option, for the top 3 artists in each category. As always, if you prefer a cash prize through Paypal, and just need the money, that’s typically the easiest and quickest option to get your reward.

But like normal, I will be flexible and work with the winners to purchase Megaman-related prizes, if there’s something you’ve really had your eye on and would like ordered. Be it a Roll Caskett 4-inch Nel, Fully Charged figures, artbook re-releases, Mastermix issues, or some other trinket. If I can find it within your prize price range and order it to be shipped straight to you, I will do all I can to make it happen!

The winners for both the Talent and Humor categories will receive the following:

*1st Place: $100 USD or an item(s) up to that value.

*2nd Place: $50 USD or an item(s) up to that value.

Tagged by @sheirukitriesfandom Thanks for tagging me and giving me an excuse to rant about ships~ Tagging: @foxyhearts @diamond-loki @greennightingale 1.) First Ship you Ever Wrote Fic For? It was for Vanus and Caafire, and it actually got featured front page on an animo! It was old Caafire though, before I had developed her to her current status of unable-to-use-magic-because-if-she-does-she’ll-explode sword swinger master. Back then she was just a free lance battlemage with a bad family life. 2.) Ship you Write Most Now? Well... tech I write for Trechire x Eliindil (Sheogorath) most now because that’s my timeline’s canon, so every time I write using characters in that universe I’m tech writing that ship, as Sunnabela and Kirr are their kids (Sunnabela his step-son, but Eliindil raised him). Just it’s a post-ship writing I guess? In terms of who I formulate for the most, that would probably be Laloriaran X Trechire in the AU, which I really should write more of. 3.)Ship you Read the Most Now? Sotha Sil x S/O, and it’s more just headcanon fluff stuff really. I wish there was more Sotha Sil x S/O, but that’s “not lore friendly” so I think a lot of would be writers get intimidated and scared away by lorebeards to write any solid series with it. I HAVE seen some, and for that I’m grateful. The headcanons at least seem to be multiplying beautifully. 4.) Newest Ship? Some questions are best left unanswered. 5.) Rare Ship you Wanna Read More of? Bring on the Sotha Sil x S/O or the Vanus x S/O. Please, spoil me. 6.) Your Taboo Ship? Okay, I can already feel the heat of sheer rage from people reading what I’m gonna write under this. But Vanus x Mannimarco is the most toxic ship I have ever seen, in ANY fandom. Firstly, heavily cliche. “They hate each other so at one time they must have liked or loved each other” No, that is not what that means. Sometimes it could be the case, but if it was romantic, then it wasn’t a “little falling out”. Vanus and Mannimarco are legends in their war against each other. In ESO Mannimarco loudly insults and kills mages of the guild, while Vanus openly spits against necromancy. Both very passionately doing so. If something romantic did happen, it’s a romance with no good memories in it. Secondly, it’s abusive. In Summerset, we get to see the two of them in their youth interacting. During this quest, it’s very obvious Mannimarco is manipulating Vanus, who is very optimistic and wants to believe the best in his friend. Mannimarco, however, doesn’t care. He never saw Vanus as an equal, BUT as a potentially USEFUL mage. He probably did feel a sting when Vanus rejected necromancy, but it wasn’t because “oh dear, my lover has rejected me!” It was most likely because Mannimarco realized he had lost a very useful future second in command, and gained an enemy which would prove a pain for years to come. I like to also point out, Mannimarco wasn’t this lonely little necromancer in the Order. We see a note concerning him in the dungeon that proves he had other friends and, while perhaps not well received overall, he had their respect as a senior member. What I’m getting at is, if there was ANY romantic or sexual relationship between Mannimarco and Vanus, it was NOT healthy. Mannimarco knew what he was doing, and was most likely an emotionally abusive partner. The type that gets uncomfortably moody or guilt trips their partner to get his way. He is SEEN doing this in the quest, actually, when Vanus catches him raising a skeleton guar, Mannimarco replies, “I thought you’d understand” and “You sound like the Ritemaster.” A chord he knew would hit Vanus hard, which it did, as Vanus stumbles to reply and drops the argument. Listen, if your s/o does something that makes you feel very uncomfortable and unsafe, then you go to them about it and they pull that crap on you, YOU LEAVE. Lastly, a lot of the time it seems I see this ship under “cute gay mages owo”. Gay couples deserve healthy relationships. Gay relationships do not need to be soaked in pure drama and dark tones to exist. Especially in Elder Scrolls, where gay couples live happily and were never considered out of place. Do not hide under the gay tag to get away with an abusive ship. Being gay doesn’t excuse a person for being an asshole, or for someone to be a pushover. But that’s enough of my ravings against that ship. For the record, I adore Mannimarco as a villain; he’s one the best I’ve ever seen, honestly. So this isn’t just an unfair rage fest against him. 7.) They never met in Canon Ship? I feel like I have a ship on the tip of my tongue, but it just isn’t coming out. I’m drawing a blank. Nerevar with literally anyone else other than Ayem? 8.)Your unexpected Ship? Lyris and her Redguard husband were a surprise. I usually don’t relate to the warrior types in these games, but these two are just sweethearts. 9.) The Ship you Always Forget to give Love to? Verandis x Trechire. GEEZE, I forget about them so much and it’s probably the most logical ship. Verandis is a vampire lord who wants to convince the world vampires aren’t always evil, and to convince other vampires they shouldn’t live at war with the world. Trechire is a werewolf alpha who hides her wolf self from virtually everyone she knows, save for her pack, who she strives to teach to be true hunters with a code of honor. Not just some hounds who bark crazily at passersby who have a bow in their hands. Both mages, both Altmer, both famous for their family names, so there’s lots of pressure on them. They’d have so much to talk about, and would be such a stress reliever to each other. 10.) Ship your OC with a canon character? I already do, that’s like half the ships already in this post. My biggest one is Laloriaran x Trechire. Although Trechire x Sheogorath is my canon, as Eliindil becomes Sheogorath, so that counts as a canon character? 11.) Ship you’re embarrassed to Ship? She recently acquired his staff motif in this big event on ESO. He recently traded his old staff design in for the new Chapter, but in the main quest line his character model still has it. That’s all I’m saying, because I don’t take the ship seriously, but it still exists and fuels my nightmares. 12.)Your most Romantic Ship? Trechire and Eliindil, because Trechire was made by me, Eliindil is an OC made by both me and my fiance who helps flesh out his personality, design, and background. Then of course Laloriaran and Trechire.... 13.)Your Sexiest Ship? If I don’t say Sheogorath and Trechire, pretty sure I’m getting teleported 50 feet above the stone surface of where I shall die. 14.) Your most Tragic Ship? Laloriaran and Trechire, who ARE in my canon but of course, Laloriaran dies. In her canon, Trechire completed the events of Morrowind, Clockwork City, and Summerset before the main questline of ESO. She had seen so many friends or just good people die. Leythen being ripped from reality right before her, Darien being forced to sacrifice himself and Trechire reading his last words before him fading away forever. Tanval Indoril dying from his own mistake, Verandis making a stupid decision out of desperation and guilt. Not to mention all the numerous little quests where this innocent and complicated person dies or suffers in the end. ESO is vicious. She had witnessed so much death, and in Laloriaran’s eyes she saw someone who understood that pain. More than anything in the world, she wanted the last Ayleid to return to Tamriel, where he’d be among friends that wouldn’t count on him for survival, but live and thrive together. She made a promise in her heart, if ANYONE would survive, even at the cost of her own life, Trechire would see to it that Laloriaran did, be it as a lover or as a friend. And in the end, he died in her arms, Trechire a healer who could offer nothing to save him. 15.) A Ship You want more Content For? Again, BRING ON THE VANUS WITH S/O AND SOTHA SIL WITH S/O, PLEASE.

It was FMA. It was an OC x Roy Mustang. It was all in second person. It is the reason I am glad Quizilla was shut down. Okay NEXt---

Honestly, now I am mostly a self-indulgent soul writing for ships between my own OCs or my OCs and those of friends. The biggest culprit lately is probably Cyrus x Darren (Darrus) or Hanin x Avira (Hanavira - Avira belongs to @lavellanlove).

3. Ship you read the most now:

Mostly whatever my friends and mutuals are posting. I don’t venture out into ship tags, so it’s whatever crosses my dash. Sometimes it’s OC x DA character, sometimes it’s OC x OC, sometimes it’s original fiction.

4. Newest ship:

Delton and Damiros. It’s a hot mess.

5. Rare ship you wanna read more of:

Hmm, I don’t know if I follow many rare-ships? I think I’d like to see more Fenris x F!Hawke (particularly red!Hawke) because it’s just not a dynamic I see very often. Gotta be a friendmance, though!

6. Your taboo ship:

Fenris x Anders (not into it, sorry). Also not keen on Adoribull.

7. They never met in canon ship:

There were some cute asks a while back about Varlen x Zevran which were a lot of fun haha, but they’ve never met in-canon.

8. Your unexpected ship:

Darren and Cyrus was actually my most unexpected. I never went in expecting the two of them to form a relationship (and they didn’t until about 4 years after the events of Inquisition), but some persistent anons planted the idea and then I couldn’t shake it (and big thank you to those anons - it has been the most fun to write about!)

9. The ship you always forget to give love to:

RIP me always forgetting to make content for Darva and Dorian. I still love them a lot and their relationship will always be special to me.

Lol maybe this is more applicable in fandoms outside of Dragon Age

None, really? Sometimes I feel a bit embarrassed when I think of stories between my two OCs but at the same time I feel like y’all know what you’re in for at this point haha

Probably Varlen x Dorian. They’re sappy sometimes. None of my ships really qualify as High Romance. OH maybe Jaime x Cassandra, if I ever got around to writing any content for them lol

14. Your most tragic ship:

Probably Hanin x Josephine. At first they were really drawn to each other, wanted to be there for each other, etc. But as the stress of the war and the needs of the Inquisition mounted, Hanin started to withdraw. He became more terse, erratic, and short-tempered (not with Josie, but word would get back to her). She’d worry, he’d push her away, he’d regret it, she’d be hesitant to take him back (but always did). It got to a point where they both just realised it wasn’t healthy, and Hanin knew he couldn’t be the person she deserved, and he certainly couldn’t go with her after the Inquisition disbanded to live among aristocrats.
