2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project

well. in an original project, its the big reveal scene where the main character learns who cursed her family. in a study in b major, it's probably like. their final concert, or their big music competition!

7. What do you think are the characteristics of your personal writing style? Would others agree?

hmmm. i think theyd be introspection and imagery? i really like adding them both and find that when i look back, its a lot of imagery especially (my freshman english teacher told me she really liked how i added it in, so i guess that stuck)

10. How would you describe your writing process?

the idea first. then its a lot of just. daydreaming about it ig? i think about it a lot and then if i really like, i make a document. and then i just. start writing. i dont really have a schedule, so its based on whatever im feeling and then writing. once i have a chapter or two done (if its fic) i'll read over it and then post it to ao3!

20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)

its still developing, but i really want to show how over time, the characters' emotions impact their playing! like. with will, he's so determined to stay that hes working as hard as he can and his playing can be very forceful. or how alyss analyzes the music constantly.

with my current original work, its that destiny, ultimately, cant control you. one of my characters, Claudia, comes from a family of Seers and shes expected to carry on her family legacy and to follow the path that destiny has for her. but its like. she doesnt want to. and finding new friends who dont believe fate is all-consuming and encourage her to try new things help her realize that she might have a certain ending, but she gets to decide what path takes her there

interview with the vampire (1994) is so funny because brad pitt was like i fucking hate it here i hate this character i will not read those dumb books i hate this shoot it’s all at night i’m so miserable i want to buy my way out of my contract but it’s a few million more than i can spare and david geffen won’t negotiate a lower price so i need everyone around me to be miserable too so i won’t shower in protest and tom cruise was like i’m having a *blast* i was such a fan of the vampire chronicles so i’ve been rereading the books and wow lestat has so much going on internally he’s my best friend my blorbo from work my wife and i moved to paris for a few months to get a feel for his era and culture and we love new orleans and i studied videos of large cats stalking their prey and i’ve been reading a lot of classical literature to really nail his vocabulary and vocal cadence and i lost 20lbs to really get that gaunt look and wow isn’t kirsten dunst so talented she should be claudia i’m going to make sure she gets the role i’m having so much fun i love it here and guess which one anne rice waged a very public war against until the studio had to step in because she was getting too nasty only for her to do an about face when the movie came out and proclaim that his performance would be remembered with olivier’s hamlet

💖 Fic Writing Review 2023 💖

I was tagged by @penny00dreadful @rocknrollsalad @cranberrymoons and @unclewaynemunson Thanks everyone! You all smashed it in 2023. Here's to more words wording and fun fandom times with our faves.

Tbh, it took me a good month minute to work out how to do this, seeing as I don't post much to ao3 (something I intend on mending in 2024). I'm very much going with the 'feel free to show whatever stats you like' aspect of the rules.

But before all that, I'd like to use this post as an opportunity to acknowledge everyone who enjoys my writing. I kinda just fell into writing in this fandom and discovered that I love it!

I'm also sending love and appreciation to my beloved moots and everyone in the stwg discord server. Here's to another year of creating, sharing and interacting 💖

This fandom really is my happy place a lot of the time, a much-needed creative outlet and a space where I can talk to people who let me be my silly little old self.

I have so much I want to write in 2024 (including some in-the-works stuff listed below). One goal I know I have in 2024 is to write what I'll temporarily title, 'The Origin of Joanie Munson'. I would really like to knuckle down and write a looonnnggg fic this year that would tell that story.

Wayne and Steve get hearing aids: This post was very much inspired by my pop's ongoing struggle with his hearing aids. HoH Steve is a beloved headcanon of mine so I was happy to receive so much love for a little ficlet that came from a very real place.

Steve spends Father's Day with the Buckleys: If there's one Steve trope I will write, it's Steve Has Bad Parents™. I always find myself writing this trope and getting Steve all sad and angsty as a personal coping mechanism/outlet for irl Dad Stuff™. Joanie Munson's First Word: I love my Joanie Munson AU. And one thing I love writing into it is Wayne being a doting Grandpa. Decided to do 'em both because I love my boys

Ethari is like super interesting to me in part because of 1) cultural implications in both his marriage and how he responds to shit, by which I mean 2) I think he's why the Silvergrove comes off as strangely, fundamentally passive to me?? I think in a lot of ways he's like Terry, in which he's very accepting and supportive and that's ordinarily a good thing, but it does mean sometimes being acceptive and supportive of traits, decisions, or rituals he could probably put his foot down about more. And I think it's really refreshing cause I feel like we don't always see the dark side of acceptance be explored as a trait that often. That said I love seeing him corral both Runaan and Rayla when it matters in BH, and I'm very excited to see him pop up him the show again (fingers crossed for S6)!

I always adore characters who destroy themselves for ultimately misguided (if well intentioned, sometimes) reasons so of course I love Runaan, lmao. He reminds me the most of Claudia - loyal, maybe doesn't question enough, gets in over his head because of having too much faith in his family - but I also love how stubborn and grumpy he is coupled with how soft and sentimental he can be with his loved ones. Very excited to see how he responds to the changed world he finds himself in, both the broyals, and how he may be forced to confront the issues in his own mindsets by seeing some of them play out with Rayla in ways he doesn't want <3
