Before your stupid boyfriend came along, you belonged to Sam. You didn't have anyone else to spend your time with, so you'd hang out with Sam. The two of you would watch movies together, play video games, smoke in his bedroom, and sometimes he'd bring you to parties with him.

You might have been oblivious to your stepbrother's feelings towards you, but to everyone else it was plain to see. Sam Monroe had a huge, embarrassing, shameful crush on his step sibling. To make matters even worse, you were now going out with his bully.

Going to the local college meant seeing many of the same faces from high school. You met Sam's bully at one of the parties Sam forced you to go to, ironically enough. The guy is tall, blonde, and more muscle than brains. Sam can't stand the guy. He's just some pretty-boy douchebag that gets whatever he wants with a flash of those pearly teeth. Sam never expected you were stupid enough to fall for it.

It was bad enough that you were dating the guy who made Sam's high school career a living hell, but the fact that he was the complete opposite of what Sam is made him angry. Of course you'd never go for a guy like Sam when you had a meat-head supermodel vying for your attention.

Sam hated it, but he knew he couldn't do anything about it. Even though Sam doesn't get bullied anymore, the guy could still kick his ass if he ever tried to confront him. So for weeks, Sam endured the torture of watching his step-sibling/crush fall head over heels for the worst guy he knows.

Sam reached his breaking point after a long night of hearing bed-rocking and moaning through his bedroom wall. At first, he only heard your moans and he thought you were masturbating. Like the pervert he is, decided to do the same while listening to you. His erection immediately softened when he heard a familiar voice through the wall.

Sam had been getting off to the sound of you getting fucked by his bully. His face burned with shame even though he was alone. His stomach churned with anger. His bones ached with jealousy. That should be him in there, causing those sounds, not that dickhead.

So I’ve been studying and exploring the depth psychology of romantic love as of late, and I think one of my favorite aspects about what I've learned is the pervasive agreement amongst Jungian Analysts that romantic love and being in love with an other is akin to a religious experience.

That said, I’m not sure there’s a song that captures romantic love as a religious experience quite like Kiri by Monoral does.
