Bug Noire: Its over Monarch! I am stopping you once and for all.
Gabriel: Hehehe HAHAHAHAHA
Bug Noire: Whats so funny?
Gabriel: I will get the Miraculous, do you know why?
Bug noire: And why is that.
Gabriel: (gets the ring and Earrings through some bulls***) Because Marinette, THIS is a canon event.

Gabriel NEITHER got a redemption nor a defeat. Because Gabriel was so far gone and crazy about his goal there was no way he could've turned a 180 overnight. And if he had died like a villain that would've been a whole different can of worms for Adrien. I personally think that after so many ending scenarios in our heads, this ending was the least expected and the writers at least made that good work. "Do I celebrate? Do I lie down and cry? What is going on??"
When Marinette talked him down, he didn't make a selfish wish, sure, but he still made the wish he became a villain for. Even if he had to sacrifice himself, he made sure his plan was successful. (not sure if this is true but im going off of a guess here) He was a man dedicated to his goal for sure. I appreciate that in a villain. But it's funny how this show tries to make people sympathize with a terrorist.
Also GOOD for adrien to not fight his dad in the final fight. I'm all for him finding out the secrets next season and that being a different arc but with everything he suffered he didn't need more trauma I'm happy the trauma was dumped on Marinette she's the main character or whatever. At this point the show has already abused the 'And Chat Noir' part of the show's title it's not even something new.

Adrien and Gabriel
So I'm a bit confused on the finale, everything that happened during the series, mainly Adrien's and Gabriel's relationship, how will it be representated next season? Did Adrien got a complete memory wipe of all the emotional abuse his father put him through? Or he remembers it, but since he wasn't around for the final fight, he will think he died a hero and will forgive him for that? Or will it be downplayed? Or will the abuse Gabriel put him through will be much milder than the real thing was, like just what we saw in season 1? I'm scared to know but also I need to know.

Here's a wacky solution to the "Is it Emliie or Amelie at the beach party?" dilemma.
The wish fused Emilie and Amelie like the Graham de Vanily Twin Rings were once one ring that was later broken into two rings. That makes Felix and Adrien now literal twin brothers instead of identical cousins as they were before. And Colt Fathom was retconned from existence.

So I wonder if Adrien thinks "Gabriel Agreste sacrificed himself helping Ladybug defeat Monarch" means that his father was a temporary wielder of the Black Cat Miraculous while he was out of commission.

It's funny that Gabriel kept returning Mr. Pigeon, and now a monument was erected in his honor. I expect the pigeons to pay homage to their king
Just bathe it in pigeon poo
