Hello everyone! Welcome to Mina's Musings, a tumblr blog run by Mina Summers. I am a half-fairy VTuber who owns and runs Marigold Bakery. I starting VTubing to make people happy and earn my fairy wings! I hope you'll join me on this magical journey together~

Schedule
I work a few different freelance jobs and so my schedule is constantly in flux. I usually stream weekday at 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM in the EST/EDT timezone. I'll attach my weekly schedule for the current week below:
Content I Stream/Create
I usually stream otome visual novels or joseimuke mobile games. Some of my favorites are Ensemble Stars!! Basic and Music, Bandori, Taisho x Alice, Tears of Themis, Hatoful Boyfriend, and BUSTAFELLOWS.
Sometimes I'll stream variety content such as JRPGs, scuffed karaoke (yes it is always scuffed lol), baking or decorating desserts (rare because this is messy and requires lots of planning!), crocheting, and cozy chatting content. I like to experiment with my content when I have more time in my schedule!
I'm currently working on a larger video project where I summarize the entirety of the Ensemble Stars story backlog and lore on YouTube. The series is still very much a work in progress but I do have a livestream VOD where I explained some basics about the game universe and characters which you can watch here:

I also really love music! I try to hold karaokes as much as I can and I've recently start recording covers songs! You can check out my first cover song below. It would mean a lot to me if you gave it a like as well!

Other than that I do a bit of voice acting, sometimes while I'm playing VNs I'll even try to voice over the characters. But mostly I just record short voice clips and post them to YouTube and TikTok.
Now that I have this page I hope to post some exclusive Tumblr content such as video scripts for my YouTube videos and reviews for games, animes, mangas, and novels! I'll link back to some of those posts when I do create them.

I am exhausted in ways I cannot begin to explain. October and even November were really great months for me and a large part of that was being back on tumblr and connecting with this community. I wish I had kept it up more frequently, I wish I had the energy to do everything I want to do.

Dracula, May 28th:
Here he caught sight of the strange symbols as he opened the envelope, and the dark look came into his face, and his eyes blazed wickedly—"the other is a vile thing..."
Dracula, Sept 25th:
He opened it, and for an instant his face fell. Then he stood up and bowed. "Oh, you so clever woman!" he said.
a quick contrast here in how the opposing sides view shorthand, a message they cannot read:
Dracula is furious, he is cruel; how dare Jonathan withhold information, how dare he think he has any power in his situation, how dare think he have anything beyond what Dracula chooses to give him. He promptly burns the letter, in front of him, to show Jonathan how helpless he is
Van Helsing, in desperate need of this information, and though upset - gracefully accepts this joke, and asks for help. He acts charmingly, he doesn't use his Stern Talking to Women Voice (c) to tell Mina she must not do this, they part as the start of dear friends

pop culture and academics out there keep twisting the text to make Lucy’s statement about wanting to marry her suitors look horny (so they can shame her), when Mina consistently keeps getting heated every time she sees or hears about Jonathan turning from a meek guy to a badass

happy birthday mina here are some not-quite-right things about her that your muse may or may not notice:
there’s the two obvious ones: sometimes parts of her appear a little translucent (especially under bright lights or direct sunlight), and sometimes parts of her become intangible. these things are not mutually exclusive and can and do happen separately (ie. she looks completely solid but her hand will go through things like air, or despite looking a little transparent she can still grab and touch things), but they can happen at the same time as well. most often happens in her shoulders or hands, but it can happen with any part of her body.
sometimes she just straight up doesn’t have a heartbeat or pulse. it comes and goes.
she weighs muuuch less than she looks like she should, and if you’re picking her up or something along those lines, it can be pretty noticeable.
gets really strong, sudden bouts of fatigue/loses her energy quicker. can and will fall asleep a little too easily. alternatively, consumes so much caffeine.
while she absolutely does still need to eat, she doesn’t have nearly as strong of an appetite as she used to, and will often forget to eat or eat very little unless reminded.
sometimes just straight up bleeds tbh! usually just nosebleeds that'll happen kind of randomly, but when she’s having a bad episode it can also come from her mouth.
unlikely to be seen unless they're very close but she's got a massive and pretty gnarly looking scar across her middle that goes from the left side of her chest to her right hip. she really doesn’t like people seeing it and doesn’t give them the opportunity to, and pretty much always keeps that part of her body covered. she used to wear a lot of crop tops and bralettes but she sure doesn’t anymore!
the scar and general area (especially her chest) surrounding also flare up and hurt sometimes. almost always accompanied by one of the other things (no heartbeat, intangibility, blood, some mix of multiple of them) and while she can try, the pain is very intense and hurts too much for her to effectively hide it. this isn’t too frequent especially compared to everything else (she'll have periods where she'll go weeks without one) but it does still happen.

Hello fellow newly arrived Tumblr nerds!!
Just a tiny note that if y'all are new I highly recommend checking out the queue and scheduling post options on Tumblr. Those are pretty useful features, especially for us VTubers who maybe want to be able to plan out some content ahead of time. Also make sure to explore the labs for some fun new features including connecting your Tumblr to your Discord server!
Tumblr won't ever be a place where you can get like massive about of clout but that doesn't mean you can't try to advertise yourself in planned but genuine ways. Cross-post basic content like art/fanart and videos and make use of the many features this website has. You can embed videos from Twitch and Youtube and again, don't expect lots of numbers but you've got a unique opportunity here so talk about your thoughts and feelings on content you've made and maybe begin to form connections with others.

This is a bit silly but what if I change all my current plans. Like, instead of putting out the first video of the great enstars lore series, what if I put out some smaller review videos for Fukumenkei Noise? Like I might go volume by volume or chunk it together every few volumes and it'll be just me ranting with full spoilers from a script that I'll probably type in the middle of the night like a truly obsessed fan. Like I cannot explain how this series has absolutely taken over my life and I think I need to rant about it everywhere. I'll also try and maybe draft some tumblr posts to go along with the review videos? This is becoming a much larger project than I thought so maybe I'll make it one long video instead. But it's still something I want to consider.

That post about Bram Stoker's "lost" author's forward reminded me of how he only mentions the Harkers, Seward, and Van Helsing. And what's funnier is that he mentions Jonathan Harker and Seward by name but NOT Mina or Van Helsing.
He calls Mina Harker's wife, an extraordinary woman. And he calls Van Helsing as too important to name directly, as he does not want any more further attention drawn on himself. In my opinion, by omitting their names, it heightens the reader's expectation.l, and I think there's a subtle relation drawn, over how both Van Helsing and Mina are the novel's most important characters. With Mina in particular, we know so little of her in the preface, yet the word "extraordinary" sets the readers to watch out for her.

Massive Monday: Ashido parking her big, behemoth, bunker door busting bubblegum ass on Hagakure without noticing when she sits down for breakfast.
The downsides to being so massively rear-ended when you have invisible friends-
WHAM!
Toru couldn't even get a word out before she was buried under the squishy mounds of pink butt! Mina didn't even notice, already tucking into her tray of food in the middle of the school cafeteria...
The only sign that Toru was there was the occasional handprint appearing in the side of Mina's cheeks, as the spanks for attention went totally unnoticed-
