I’m rereading the Magnus Chase books (so spoilers to those who haven’t read them yet). I’m still on tSoS, and I got to the part where magnus heals Hearth after he almost dies, and… Hearth called magnus “brother”…

Which is just heartwrenching. Especially after knowing what happened to Hearths brother. Like, the amount that he must care for magnus in order to give him that title…

Across The Spiderverse is a dream come true for me as someone who's had the Riordanverse as a special interest for a bit over a fucking decade now.The fem mc is a blonde white girl who's super smart but she has tons of nice moments to balance out her asshole tendencies to the point that she has an actual consitant personality instead of just mashed up 'pick me gf' tropes?The villain who hurts kids is potrayed as a bad person for it and there's no 'i had a bad life uwu' forced redemption for him?The poc are treated with just as much care and respect as the white characters AND they all have realistic features for their heritage???The lgbt rep in the cast is beautifully written rather stereotyping and torture p*rn???????Literally made for me specifically

(i know im not making any scene, roll with me for a sec tho)

Magnus and Annabeth walk past Jason's grave in New Rome (during 9 from the Nine Worlds) because she wanted to show Magnus all her friends

Annabeth gets all sad

and Magnus just looks straight at the grave and says 'Yo you must be Jason'

Annabeth thinks her cousin is trying to lighten the mood. A pause.

'Yeah, Annabeth's told me all about you." another pause.

"Oh im her cousin, I came down here to spend the week from Boston." pause. Magnus looks over to Annabeth, who is staring at him.

"Nah, she can't see you."

"I don't think she can hear you"

"Ha, no Im dead to."

"Yeah well -" (goes on to explain Valhalla and the Norse Gods while Annabeth is just staring, dumbfounded)

"Yeah, pretty cool. Stopped the end of the world last year too."

"Yo really?"

Just finished ship of the dead

And holy shit you werent kidding when yall said Magnus defeats Loki with the power of friendship.

Am a lil dissapointed tho, kinda wished Surt actually made an appearance again. He seemed like a big deal at the start but just then dissapeared for the rest of the series.

I also was half expecting Randolph to not be dead for some reason? Idk i just assumed he just went with Sigyn and Loki and magnus was making assumptions till they actually got to the ship.

(welp now i gotta either rewrite my Sigyn and Randolph 'kinda bonding' oneshot or just make it an AU)

Also am most definetly going to write Loki breaking down at the idea of being rechained.
