Sometimes I wonder what would happen if the Lady learned what autism was. Like she sees some kid stimming or smth and goes ‘ah yes normal child behavior’ and someone else goes ‘oh yeah they’ve got autism’ and the lady is like WHAT THATS NOT NORMAL??????

In all seriousness, she strikes me as one of those people who initially does not accept the fact that they are neurodivergent because they genuinely think they are acting like all neurotypicals do. And fail to realize that they are not in fact acting like neurotypicals at all😭 but to be fair she's kinda like that with... everything. If you asked her if her childhood was traumatic she'd deadass look back on The Horrors and tell you "I mean I turned out fine" with a straight face. GIRL YOU HAVE HUNDREDS OVER HUNDREDS OF MANNEQUINS THAT LOOK EXACTLY LIKE YOU AND YOU RUN INTO THE DARK AT THE SLIGHTEST UNKNOWN MOVEMENT WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU TURNED OUT FINE (ignoring the cannibalism business for a second LMAO😭)

The Lady knows many things, so I don't doubt that she is aware of at least the most well known symptoms. She will read through them and be like "ah, this doesn't concern me" without realizing that her entire childhood and adolescence was spent trying to learn social cues and how to react to them in a way deemed "acceptable". Her mask is not just a mask she's literally masking😭 I figured she'd be exhausted because of it, which is one of them many reasons why she prefers to spend most of her time alone and resting. Masking is EXHAUSTING.

She's the autism creature incarnate I think look at her

I'll likely get more detailed with this tomorrow, but here is Bubba so far! I love him so so so much <3

It's ironic that I doodled him maskless when I, like many others, headcanon him as being insecure of his real face, whish is why he wears his masks all the time.

I know Thomas Hewitt has a facial deformity and skin condition, and many headcanon Bubba similarly, but I personally imagine him having a.. relatively plain face that's just not cared for because he hates it due to other members of his family's mistreatment and insults aimed at him, so he hides it.

General information:

Their entire lifecycle is based off bugs and thus they go through instars or larval stages of growth before they eventually cocoon and pupate and finally emerge as fully fledged adults

Through some strange modifications to their genetic and biological code, the ancients were able to make them grow their own biomechanical components through ingesting inorganic and organic material

Much more detailed under a microscope, their biomechanical structures are layered as if they were 3D printed on, but include interwoven organic components such as nerves and blood vessels

Vultures are opportunistic and will even result to cannibalism

Hatchling / 1st Instar:

multiple hatchlings will hatch all at once in a single clutch and immediately fight each other, eventually killing and consuming the loser, thus resulting in only a few grubs surviving

Nutrients gained from their siblings and material eaten from the environment around them is used to form the headpiece as quickly as possible

the modified head is used as its primary defense in the larval stage, calling adult vultures in hopes that it'll deter it's attacker- though the vultures that do arrive are most likely not the parents and will eat the grub at any given chance

5th Instar:

By now the grub has eaten as much nutrients as it could and will soon undergo pupation

The grub's first four legs have elongated to aid in travel as they will seek refuge in high perches where they will hide away and cocoon

They are swift and hard to spot in this stage because of their grime covered coat

Pupation / Near emergence:

After spinning its cocoon, the silk hardens and thickens into a tough ball

The silk is woven in with specific nutrients that promote plant growth to further hide the cocoon

After an undetermined amount of time, the cocoon gradually expands as the pupa grows into the adult form; the expansion leaves translucent areas where the silk is thin

Adult Vulture:

The engines and mask are a result of a mixture of bone-like material and metal-like material and are very hard to break

They are aware of how strong their own mask is so they stray from fighting each other, only ever attacking another vulture if they've lost their mask; this is an instinctive behavior both driven by their opportunistic nature and seeing a maskless vulture as sick or injured

As with the majority of creatures, the skin of a vulture is smooth and porous, but instead has patches of hair-like protrusions

Through a mysterious process, vultures are able to synthesize various chemicals to aid in flight, namely helium gas, which is pumped into the feathers

This process brings toxic byproducts: chlorine and iodine gas, which is forcefully expelled alongside the helium through the engines and out of the creature

A vulture's engines are raised occasionally to allow more airflow and a faster exchange of gas as standalone they accumulate these chemicals regardless of exertion

The feathers of a vulture are akin to swim bladders and are inflated with helium gas to allow the creature to fly, the feathers retain their flat shape but the skin is expanded and shows the true colors of the wings, when deflated the feathers are black in color

When on the ground, the feathers of a vulture are deflated and much tougher, their wings will curl into "fists" as they walk, occasionally extending their wings to grab ahold of things with their prolegs

Previously as a grub, they had 4 developed legs before they pupate, the mid legs turned into a pair of weak grabbing arms, mainly used to preen the creature

The grub's last pair of legs became fat reserves

The jaws of a vulture are pretty animal-like and only have a top and bottom jaw, they also have pedipalps which are used to preen, grab, and feel things

King Vulture:

Unknown as to how they originated, bear slightly different genetic coding compared to normal vultures, namely noticed with the mysterious brand on their masks

the vulture is larger to accommodate a second pair of lungs solely used to power the harpoon mechanism

The harpoon is shot via a swift expulsion of air similar to a sneeze, through the cables that they stiffen and expand, sending the harpoon flying at dangerous speeds

Relaxation of the cables allows them to slowly retract back on their own

Okay these are HCs I share with @fallenguitarhero

So basically, Adam is Just A Guy. He has always been Just A Guy. When his helmet is broken, you can see just how much A Guy he is, his proportions are Completely human.

Meanwhile when he has his helmet, he's a lot more fluid, his size and shape changes at will basically. He can eat and drink through his helmet. When he's in the safety of Heaven, even when Lute is maskless, he's still wearing his Helmet. Clearly he feel More Comfortable with that than with his actual face.

He's the first Human Soul in Heaven, but he's not Just a Winner, he has Angelic Powers, he can create portals, he can look into Hell at will, he has Holy Light powers. He's an Angel but he's still Human. And he Looks Human. Especially at the beginning, he was the only thing that Looks like him. All the other Angels are ethereal in their appearance, they can have multiple forms. He's just... A human with Wings. Sure his wings are Unique, but that's the only thing that's special about him. It's not Him that's special.

The Helmet gives him the ability to change his form in little ways, it separates him from being Just A Guy, his face is something Different, something he can control. There's no way his Helmet wasn't specially made with all the abilities it has. No LED masks allows you to eat and drink through it. It was made specifically to allow him to keep it on at all times.

Without the Mask, his face is More Expressive, as cartoony and silly his Mask can be, his natural face's expressions are pushed even further.* And when his Helmet is Destroyed and he's just Him, he's Smaller than he was with the Helmet on. So if that's not his Natural state, then that means he's done it On Purpose consciously or not. He feels Smaller with his Helmet gone.

And then we kinda lean into it more in our AUs, especially our Sinner AU. Adam feels so insecure without his Mask, which had been destroyed during Extermination Day, so he hates people staring or even just looking at his face. His face is the thing he's most sensitive about but he can't hide it anymore and it weighs on him. The only person he allowed to see him without his mask Voluntarily was Lute because he trusted her more than anyone. (qpr guardrock is so important to me). But piercings and tattoos etc help because it allows him to take control of his appearance

In AUs other than Sinner AU, it takes a while for Adam to be comfortable taking his helmet off around Lucifer, Lucifer hadn't seen his face since Eden. And it takes Adam quite a while before he's willing to accept that Lucifer - especially Lucifer, the one once considered to be The Most Beautiful Angel - could find him attractive.

* Edit: Forgot to add that Because of how Expressive he is naturally, the mask also helps him control how he's being perceived. He can show As Much of his true feelings as he wants, or as Little. Its literally Masking his emotions

Here's my Nacho design! (Maskless of course)

(kind of gave up on the feet cause it was like 4 am, so shhh)

Look at them! The baby!

My hc is that they have patches of black fur on their face and Bad's smile, so that's why they have to wear the mask because it makes it quite obvious who the other parent is (definitely not the demon tail, nope)/The Federation would consider it an "imperfection"

I just thought them having a white eye like Bad where the black fur patch goes around their eye was a nice touch.

I also have a hc that since they have a demon tail that's a bit harder to hide, anyone that mentions it around Cucurucho gets shot. :3

12 & 18 TMNT Leonardo shower thought I had.

bolding the beginning of each paragraph so you know which leo i’m talking about

I hope I’m not getting something wrong i haven’t watched the later 2012 seasons

12!Leo has been the leader from the start. To him, it’s his duty. His role. This only becomes more relevant when his father dies and he is now the new leader of his entire clan. He sees himself as the only one fit for the role, and has a tendency to not listen to his brothers until the last second, just because he is the oldest and the leader, both of which are things that he was assigned by Splinter to be, and once they may not have felt like cold hard fact.

12!Leo is still just a happy kid at his core, but it’s become buried under his responsibility and trauma and the fact that his childish side sometimes can’t show itself due to the fact his voice doesn’t always work. He feels like there’s no point in asking his brothers to help carry the burden, in his eyes he’s the only one fit for it, anyways.

Then there’s 18!Leo. He’s the 3rd youngest (I hc Don as the older twin, fuck off) and was appointed leader after the need for one had seemingly dissapeared. He doesn’t want to be the team lead, doesn’t think he should be, either. That’s always been Raph’s job as big brother, in his eyes. Yeah, he can make good plans and can take a commanding tone when he needs to, and maybe he’s good at motivating his siblings, but those are all things that he could do as the face man, and there wasn’t any reason why he had to take that from Raph, because Raph couldn’t be the face man, now he was just another teammate, and Leo hated that he’d done that to his big brother, forced or not.

And then the movie happens, and 18!Leo realized that oh fuck, he hadn’t been made the leader. He’d been acting like it this whole time. His father had just removed the burden that came with the word leader, and gave it to someone who didn’t also carry the weight of being an older brother. The reason Leo was the leader was because Raph needed to not be the leader. Any of them could take on the leader role, and the only difference it would make is that someone else would have the worse mental health.

18!Leo knows that he can ask his siblings to take the burden, and he knows that they’d do it without a second thought, but he doesn’t want to. His big brother deserves a break, and Casey & Mikey sure as hell don’t want to lead the team. April doesn’t have time to be their leader, she’s in college now. Cassandra is too busy to be the leader, plus she’d probably say something about clan laws that means Splinter is technically the leader, even though he isn’t. And Donnie wouldn’t get anything done as leader because Raph and Leo would be constantly turning down his plans due to them being too violent. So, by Leo logic, this means that he deserves to carry the burden of being the leader, and hides the weight of it under well timed puns.

Now, put all of this into a crossover scenario.

12!Leo looks at his counterpart and he sees the kid that he never got to be. He thinks of a joke and then a few moments later, his alternate is saying it, and even if he had perfect vocal cords, Leo would have held it in. It’s... he’s not sure if he’s happy there’s a version of himself like this out there, or if he finds the kid annoying.

18!Leo sees what he wants to be, what he has to be, because he’s the leader now, and he hates that his ston-y alternate gets to slide into the role so easily.

So, the Leo’s hate eachother.

12 goes on a tangent in the dusty Rise dojo about how much he hates his alternate, most of the things being lies he’s telling himself.

And then 18 walks in, silent, maskless, and shaking. He goes over to a shrine, one with no photos, and the only thing that tells anything of who it’s for being the words Anata wa hitori ja nai. He kneels before it, the others lapsing into silence as they realise the kid had completely missed them, and watch as 18 begins to sob, begging for her to tell him what he did wrong.

And as his sobs die off, the kid clears his throat and says breathily “I’m sorry I couldn’t save you in time, Oroku Karai.”

And as 18 walks out of the room with a stone cold expression, they all realise at once that maybe, the Leo’s are more similar than they thought.

I couldn’t resist writing this out I’m sorry.
