Going Somewhere Jerma?
Season 6 Featured on: siivagunner's highest quality rips: volume
Ripped by Sponge Lord
youtube
do you have any idea how fucking embarrassing it is to be listening to SiIvaGunner albums in public and having to desperately hold in my laughter when hearing a rip like this for the first time
Then again I suppose its a trap of my own making, and I'm not exactly complaining - Season 6 has really grown on me in general recently, and I think listening to highest quality rips: volume really helped with cementing that. Be it through its fantastic events, or the excellent blend of rips both funny and gripping - its now a period of SiIvaGunner that I wish I'd paid attention to more during its run. I covered both the aforementioend album and the joke source of today's rip beforehand in If I chopped Pikachu up in a meat grinder, and the only thing that comes out and is left of him is his eyeball, he's PROBABLY dead. That source is, of course, our good friend Jerma985.
Jerma's been along for an immensely long time in online circles, yet it feels like he's really suddenly spiked in popularity and relevancy during the 2020s. For as much of an icon he's become to internet shitposting in general - in particular when associated with hit game Among Us - his own original content really didn't show up all too often on SiIva until more recently? His depiction was almost entirely as "the sus guy" such as in Curse of the Fallen Angel, but recently his incredible potential for YTPMVs have finally begun being utilized. With the aforementioned rip and Going Somewhere Jerma?, Jerma stocks on SiIvaGunner are at an all-time high - and I couldn't be happier.
It helps that the Mario Party N64 soundtracks - and Going Somewhere in particular - are simply pure dopamine injectors for me at this point. Before finding this rip, I got reminded of just how fucking good the track is through Going Somewhere Omoriboy?, a YTPMV similar to Going Somewhere Jerma? - and the two together have kind of convinced me that the song is impossible to fuck up. The audio clips used in Going Somewhere Jerma? in particular though are absolutely perfect, with the blend of "giant enemy spider" humming as the backing track and the AA-EE-OOs as the main melody - funny enough, the exact inverse of If I chopped Pikachu up in a meat grinder, and the only thing that comes out and is left of him is his eyeball, he's PROBABLY dead. So the two rips compliment each other excellently, yet despite using the same source convey two wholly different moods due to the source track being used. The little "audiojungle" snuck in is also just an incredible cherry on top of it all, and altogether the rip feels immensely re-listenable despite barely being above a minute long.
Its fascinating to compare the two for their differences, yet althesame they've both been responsible for spat-out drinks on my end. Yet thats an inconvenience I'll gladly live with for getting more audio bliss in the world. Long live YTPMV!

You know who's an underrated, amazing video game pianist is?
Aqare.
Aqare, spelled as Aq(ua)re minus the (u) because i had mistyped his name so many times before
His technique and vividness for a video game pianists are very special in this field, the skillset combined with his passion are out of this world.
He is a very special artist.
The identity of his works are, by themselves, one of a kind.
The dedication for each note to be heard clearly, cleanly, while keeping the dynamics fresh from start to end is unmatched.
Every note is rung alive with the highest quality, you can feel how much work he had put in each and every one of his art:
Hyrule Warriors - Age of Calamity:

The Legend of Zelda - Tears of the Kingdom:

Dark souls:

Mario Kart Wii:

Xenoblade Chronicles:

His latest work — Octopath Traveler:

This exceptional cover of Dragon Roost Island —
The Legend of Zelda - Wind Waker:
youtube
And finally, this absolutely legendary arrangement of Dark Beast Ganon which made me discover and fall in love with his channel in the first place —
The Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild:

Last note
He gives out all of his sheet music for free, without a need for any type of paywall nor subscription nor login form,
by sharing direct links to download from his google drive files in each and every video description,
so literally anyone who wants to try the music for themselves, can get into it immediately.
In a world where everything is rapidly converted into a product, his works, the pure artistry with such dedication and effort to the original essences, are very very very important for me to preserve and support.

Jellyfish, 1991: "Ignorance is Bliss" from the bizarre compilation album "White Knuckle Scorin'". The album includes some famous tracks by Dire Straits and Sheena Easton and a new track by Roy Orbison--just what the kids wanted--but this particular track sounds like one of those 2010s Evil Nerd Burlesque tracks in which Bowser addresses the Princess (still called "Toadstool" in 1991") to threaten the Mario Brothers.

Happy Holidays! Here's The Bowuigi Medley!
(SoundCloud Link)
I've done it! I've created a (mostly) Mario medley based entirely on Bowuigi.
Heads Up: While putting this together, I realized this medley gets a bit crunchy on mobile device speakers. I'd recommend use of headphones or a desktop or such to listen to this, if that option is available to you.
Clocking in at 6 minutes, it's not my longest medley, though I think it's the one I put the most thought into overall. There's a whole story outline in my mind, with acts and everything, that determined pretty much every detail of how this was put together. I won't be posting said 'story' here, though I'll likely be making a post of it soon (which I'll link here once I do).
There's multiple sections in here that I might end up isolating and extending into full pieces. I didn't expect Luigi's and Bowser's music to gel together as well as they did, though I guess the same could be said for the ship as a whole.
My next endeavor will probably be a winter-y themed medley of sorts. That was, as it happens, my original plan for a Christmas release, but Bowuigi took over my brain, so this ended up coming first.
I hope I've done the ship justice, and I hope you enjoy! And, once again, happy holidays! ☆
Credits and Tracklist are Below the Cut!
The Following Tracks Come from NinSheetMusic.
More specifically, the Super Mario, Paper Mario, and Mario Kart sections. Names/Links provided below for the people who made the sheet music I referenced.
Mario and Luigi's House, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - Sebastian
Luigi's Casino, Super Mario 64 DS - Don Valentino
Bowser Battle, Super Mario Bros 3 - The Deku Trombonist
Stage Clear (Slowed), Luigi's Mansion - Nacho2420
Luigi's Story, Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - Sebastian

Main Theme, Luigi's Mansion - Sebastian
Princess Peach is Rescued, Super Mario World - Sekter77
The Grand Finale/In The Final, Bowser's Inside Story - Rubikium
...honestly, NinSheetMusic is a stellar site for anyone looking to learn some Nintendo songs on piano (and even some non-Nintendo games!). They've got so much covered, it's insane. That sounds like a sponsor bit but I swear it's not.
The Following Come from MuseScore.
Names of the creators of the sheet music and links to said sheet music referenced are provided below.
Masochism Tango, Tom Lehrer - frejt
Bowser's Castle, Super Mario World - mielesgamesfa
Meant To Be Yours, Heathers: The Musical - tlee524
Tale As Old As Time, Beauty and the Beast - Michel Dikovec
Ghostly Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy - XiaoMigros
Final Battle with Bowser, Super Mario Galaxy - XiaoMigros
Wedding Hall, Super Mario Odyssey - ethan0515
The Following Comes from a Very Shady PDF.
Seriously. I've linked the PDF just to give the credit where it's due, and generally the PDF itself is safe to view. However, near the top of the sheet there's a very shady link that I would not recommend clicking, as I have no clue where it actually goes if you let it load fully.
Love Story, Taylor Swift - Ludy

Mario Music Tournament
(I don't know anything about running these poll tournament things but I can probably figure it out, right?)
Welcome to the Mario Music Tournament! Mario games are full of soundtracks, most of which contain music. But today, we shall endeavor to determine once and for all the objective, definitive, scientifically proven best piece of Mario music of all time.
Rules
Submit individual songs, not full soundtracks. ("Best overall Mario soundtrack" would probably be a good tournament too, but this one... isn't that.)
Submit as many songs as you like, but don't submit the same song more than once.
For the purpose of this tournament, "Mario games" include spinoffs (e.g. Kart, Party, RPGs), but not related series that don't feature Mario (e.g. Donkey Kong Country, WarioWare). If you're not sure if the game your song is from counts, just submit it anyway and I'll use my best judgment.
I have no idea what I'm doing so bear with me here. Let me know if I'm doing something wrong, if I've left anything unclear, or if you have any questions.
Submit your music here! I'll try to include every submission in the tournament, unless I somehow get so many that it becomes infeasible (which seems unlikely, I think?). I'll close submissions when I feel like it, but I'll plan to leave them open at least through Friday, March 31. (Probably quite a while longer, but I'm being cautious in case I end up getting more than expected.) Some similar tournaments that inspired this one: @vg-soundtrack-showdown @soundtrackshowdown @bangerbattlethemes

The Paragoomba and the Wiggler
Season 7 Featured on: SGFR Presents: RIP²
Ripped by 601billionlazer Performed by vvslogs
youtube
Hey, look - its close to the new year, its past midnight as I'm writing this, and I'm feeling sentimental. I know I could be putting more delicacy into my choices for these last days of the year, but please allow me to be be a bit vulnerable today.
I started making these posts seven months ago. A month later, I made the full commitment into making it a full-on BLOG-blog. That is, a blog to truly let me spill my heart over, beyond just writing one or five sentences per rip, to ensure none of my feelings get left on the drawing board. It was never something I did to catch a wave of fame, or to show off on a resume: top to bottom, this blog began as a distraction from work, and has turned into a full-scale love letter for a project that has helped shape me into the person I am today. Now, with *this* project, I've found motivation and confidence: I've had the opportunity to reignite my passion for writing, satiating my lust for analysis and discussion, and most crucially providing a thank-you to a group of creators that have always felt woefully underappreciated.
What I never really expected, was to have those same wishes returned back to me.
From the ask box, to the messages, to the Rippers' Commentary reblogs, to the discussions held in the SiIvaCord and on Discord DMs themselves, its those heartfelt words, that gratitude and joy, that keeps me driven to continue this blog until I'm all wrung dry. I've long considered myself terrible at maintaining connections, yet with each message I receive it feels as if I've made a new friend, their words of support and love never leaving my mind no matter how much time passes. It still feels like I'm somewhat of a shut-in, yet I've had the ability to talk to so many more incredible people in the back half of this year alone than I have for so much of my life before.
So, with all that sappy shit said - The Paragoomba and the Wiggler goes out to one of those people. It was only a few weeks ago this month that I covered vvsvlogs' prior work on Wham! Into Dreams, and just how much her singing truly resonated with me. As soon as that post was done, I just...felt a need to know, if she'd done any more singing work for the channel, and she was kind enough to point out her contribution to RIP² that I'd somehow completely missed. A rearrangement of an immensely simple but effective Season 1 rip, The Paragooma and the Wiggler is still a mashup of a Super Mario Bros. 3 theme and an Owl City song, yet now with a far more lively, dynamic instrumental thanks to 601billionlazer's arranging, and with vocals wholly redone by vvsvlogs, as mentioned before - and, indeed, just like Wham! Into Dreams, I connected with the rip almost immediately after listening to it. There's of course also new life injected into the non-vocal half of the song through the rearrangement, new sound effects added to punctuate lyrics, an ebb and flow maintained with the instrumentation alternating between the original chiptune sound and a plucky piano. With all that said, its an incredible rip top to bottom, showing just how talented of a singer vvsvlogs is above all else - I daresay the new vocals full-on crush the originals for me.
Yet, there's a reason I wanted to put that big sentimental introduction to this post in particular. Because back when I first discovered Wham! Into Dreams years ago, I may still have been a devoted fan, but I was a wallflower althesame: barely in the SiIvaCord, barely in discussions with anyone other than the occasional YouTube comment. It's only through all of the aforementioned outcomes of running this blog, the people I've met and the messages I've received, that I finally feel truly at home with this community - that I found the courage to reach out, talk to, and send my sincerest thanks directly to these incredible creators, with at least SOMETHING to show for it. vvsvlogs is just one of a dozen or two people I've gotten to talk to through doing this blog, and it never ceases to warm my heart - both finally getting to talk to people who've indirectly pulled me out of dark times through simply doing what they love, and through knowing I've been able to make so many of them smile from the words I'm putting onto this darn page on a daily basis.
Happy new year, SiIvaGunner team. To all of you in the team reading silently without accounts to reply with, I hope you know just how much I love you.
