My Oc’s were doing fine being 13 year old wizard kids just hanging out going on goofy adventures then one day my Apocalypse hyperfixcation (Hunger games, TLOU, Resident evil, ect) came back and now they are 17-20 year olds dealing with mortality and having the weight of a nation on their backs as they all deal with their own personal problems like-

How can you come up with your own OC? Help me with this please
For me, I start by taking things I like in people aesthetically and physically and then combine them in a way I find pleasing.
Lets use Arette and Fyra for examples.
I like redheads with freckles. I like braided hair. I like corsets and dresses that show shoulders. I combined these to make Arette.
Then we have Fyra!
I love grecian noses, olive skin, chocolate hair. You can see I brought the braided hair back too.
Once I am satisfied with the design, I then figure out how I want them to act. Most of my OCs these days are made SPECIFICALLY to ship with certain characters, so i make personalities that play off and contrast some what to the other.
Arette is kind, she has a moral compass, and is very protective of her adoptive daughter. But her fatal flaw is that she ignores red flags for the sake of her own comfort, this can cause her to bend her compass if given enough reason to over look things. This also ultimately puts her daughter in danger. This makes it easy for Bondrewd to tell her little white lies, and for her to ignore the red flags she does see. All until its too late and he's enacted his master plan. She turns on him, and deals with the massive guilt her own inaction caused.
Fyra is gentle and kind almost to a fault. She is naive to manipulation, but not to evil itself. She has a very strong moral compass and she sticks to it. Gideon can get away with SOME horrible things purely by lies and garnering sympathy. But he can not keep getting away with everything he does, and must adapt as Fyra can't be disposed of. Not only because she's growing powerful, but because he is growing fond of her. His jaded view of the world is slowly broken down by Fyra's kindness and love of anything and everything, broken or not. This ultimately leads to a not so tragic end for him as she changes him for the better.
After that is the part I find the hardest, which is creating a backstory and origin. Rule of thumb however is, that ones environment molds them as a person. Fyra's gentle nature is caused by the valley she grew up in, which was very peaceful. Everythig else I add to her (deceased mother, love of cooking dance and music) are all things I add for more flavor that fit a personality like she has.
Arette is a delver from Orth. She already grew up idolizing White Whistles, so its easy for her to be made to trust Bondrewd by him spinning similar tales that got all his men working for him. Her growing up there also means she can just write off Bondrewd's behavior as just him being a white whistle, as they all are a bit crazy. Her mother's dislike of delvers and the abyss pushes Arette into Bondrewd's arms when they first meet, cementing her place in his mind so when they meet again, he simply HAS to keep her with him.
So yeah. I hope this all helps you, and give you an idea what to do. Just start by making what you think looks cool, and then build off that to create a story. =)

How to make a non-fandom OC
Get into a fandom
Make an OC
Make other OCs
Put the OCs in AUs
Alternatively, put your favourite canon character in an AU
Add the main characters to the AUs to interact with your OC
Give them all their own roles in this AU
Tweak the characters according to their roles in the AU
Make the characters have relationships with each other (friends, family, lovers, rivals, etc.)
Tweak the characters according to the relationship dynamics you like
Tweak their names and appearances
Give them new backstories that fit into the AU
Create more characters to give this AU depth and diversity
Create relationships between your OG OCs and these new characters
Create more AUs as you like to put your main OC / fave character into
Rinse and repeat as you see fit
Eventually realise that most of your current characters have absolutely nothing in common with the fandom they originally came from/were made for, apart from some basic things like hair, eye and skin colour (and probably not even that)
And that your current AU is effectively its own world unrelated to the fandom in terms of in-universe lore.
Congratulations! You have officially created non-fandom OCs and worldbuilding by accident! Now that you have a base, keep building on it on purpose! And try to figure out a plotline for all this weird people now occupying your brain with no fandom space to put them in!
Congratulations! Now you have a book idea you'll probably never complete but you love it too much to delete from your head!

I am dipping my toes into this "OC making" thing, and I find it quite fun! I will have to create an altered design for Velleda, the first OC I made, now that I have figured out some of the lore for my universe, but overall, I am very excited! Each character will be based on a species of moth. Velleda is based on the Large Tolype Moth, and The Chained Queen is based on the Little Emerald Moth. Despite the moths they are based on, Velleda is quite short while the Chained Queen is very tall! Here is my folder on our Toyhou.se, though be warned that for some time, Velleda's design will be outdated until I can draw it again. (Edit: Velleda is now up-to-date!)

One fact: Ransome calls her Margaret to make her listen, and she hates that.
History: Valeria Bailey was born into slavery in Barbados, named only Margaret by the plantation owner, Louisa de Clermont. Aged only 13, she was brought into the main house. She was soon after assaulted the first time by another plantation owner who was visiting. The assaults went on regularly, with the men paying Louisa for time with the young girl. Though it’s unsure if she had any living children from these assaults, she did suffer some miscarriages, brought on by herself and other women on the plantation to save the poor children from captivity, and the mother from an early death.
At almost 20, Valeria was turned into a vampire against her will after almost dying from an infection. It wasn’t that Louisa cared for the girl, but she got more money from keeping her alive and healthy, so she turned her. Valeria resented her for it, and vowed she would get back at the older vampire for it. After being turned, Val hunted down her abusers, the ones alive, and killed them slowly, one by one, but making sure the message was given to the other men, that their time was up. She did get her revenge on Louisa though, using her own good looks and charms to turn the other plantation owners against her maker. Once the killing was done, she went on, killing everyone who’d wronged her. Valeria spent a few years in Barbados after being turned, striking fear in the people there, being nicknamed «The Bloody Mary of Barbados».
After she was satisfied she travelled over to New Orleans to start a new chapter of her life. In New Orleans she meets Geraldine, a fellow vampire, and the two become fast friends, Geraldine bringing the newcomer to her brother and aunt in hopes of adding another member to the shrunken family. Her past isn’t immediately laid out there, but as she learns to trust the others she shows them the news paper clippings telling the tale of a mysterious female killer wreaking havoc on Barbados. They’re quite impressed and, and slightly worried.
She’s unsure, like Patience of believing Matthew when he comes knocking, but after some convincing she’s on board too, if only to get rid of Benjamin, who she’s had the misfortune of meeting in the past. She grows close to Ysabeau though, and decides to keep in touch after the fighting is over, when she goes back to New Orleans with her family.
