welcome back to my brainrot!!! the vamps - i'm pretty sure (very fucking sure) that i'm just gonna have to write multiple parts for that au!!!! not really part 1 and part 2 but just snippets from their life i think. ofc the first meeting between gojo and geto and reader but then i really wanna write about shoko and reader too, like how'd they meet etc. i can see like a rainy day with a shivering shoko heading to her favourite bar after a long work day. it's a pretty unpopular place; she has her own little spot in the window booth and the bartender already knows what she orders. a neon light hangs from above the bar but otherwise it's just some random low lamps that barely light up the place - it's perfect like that. the music isn't too loud either, it's mainly 80's music and stuff alike that. shoko thought it a bit lame at first but now, it's one of the reasons she keeps coming back. it's a perfect escape from the life she leads. on that rainy night, though.... the door swings open and a hooded figure struts to the bar, barely catching shoko's attention. she's busy watching the raindrops bash against the window, the cig slowly burning between her fingertips. the quiet clearing of a throat does pull her out of it - it's you. dark eyes and an even darker small smile, pointing to the seat opposite of her. "may i?" it's so sultry, catching shoko a bit off-guard. normally, she wouldn't let a stranger sit with her. why would she? but you? you're different. something about you is already making her hook onto you. digging around in your little bag, you pull out a cig of your own. but no lighter. you lean your elbows onto the table and toward the woman before you. "do you mind?" she knows what you mean; she's already clutching the tiny fire machine in her jacket pocket. the cig hangs from your mouth, a confident smirk pulling on the corners of your dark lips. her hand raises to it, she flicks the ligher and watches your lips fully curve around the thing. it takes light, the tip turns a bright orange for a second before dimming down; you inhale. deep. shoko's hand remains in its spot. and exhale. she gulps.

and reader and sugu, how their relationship began and overall how their life together is (talking about this with momo and i haven't stopped thinking about sugu owning a museum and all that). OKAY AS I WAS TYPING THIS U REBLOGGED IT so i know u've seen that too but yk i wanna elaborate on that more bc i loved that idea and since i'm talking about it already HE DOES PAINT. 1000000% THERE'S A MASSIVEEE MASSIVE ROOM FOR JUST HIM AND HIS ART. in the mansion and in the museum. the room has big windows and he looooves to paint just when the moon lights up the room.... it's perfect for painting u.

aaaaaand i mean geto and gojo duo is something that needs a deep fucking study too................. like ur slowdancing idea????? it lives in my head. i don't think it'll ever leave if i'm being honest. anyway i think gojo is almost as infatuated with geto as he is with u. c'mon???? he's fucking ethereal how could he not be??? i think he follows geto around at the house a lot. he wants to know what he does at all times, just wants to know more about him (he wants to hold his hand)(he wants to play with his hair). geto definitely finds it annoying at first i think i already said that but yeah. but fret not he does come off it after a while. what if gojo asks him to teach him how to paint????? so he watches gojo do it, but when he needs help he steps right behind him, chest touching gojo's back, hand grasping over his, guiding along the canvas. do u think gojo is paying any fucking attention at this point?????????? fuck no i'm sorry but that man is popping a boner. anyway. gojo accidentally teaches him some dirty jokes - geto swears he doesn't even listen to him but the stupid one-liners just keep coming out of his mouth (a sign that he's spending a lot of time with his little bf)(he's trying to ignore that fact).

as for our little prince and our little knight - the next part is imminent i promise!! i know i said that last weekend too but it's definitely dropping this weekend lmao. we learn a bit about shoko's (and the knight's) childhood and finally our favourite duo gets to bond over some childish laughter. but only just for a moment though....

ANYWAY neighbor!maki is very much inspired by a scene from the movie bound (1996). maki and the reader have seen each other a few times in the hallway of their apartment complex but they haven't spoken - until the reader goes to ask her for help. and then they both understand how attracted they are to each other. no smut not even suggestive they're just kind of flirting it's cute. i literally have so little of it but i still love the idea so muchhhh i need to finish it maki deserves it i love her

prince!gojo (autumn)

he has also learned that shoko had a friend, who was ready to do anything for her and for others for that's sake. with a deep sigh, she confessed that she regretted not taking in the other kid. shoko was more quiet, more well-behaved in a sense but the other kid - they kept getting into fights with the knights of the castle. "i kept scolding them over it. but no, they just kept going. later i learned that all of those beatings and slashings were for other kids." her head hanged low as she spoke. "they kept taking the blame for the younger kids, so that they wouldn't get hurt. stole food, so that they wouldn't starve. i didn't know."

the prince nodded along, surprised to hear about this noble kid. "where are they now?" he asked in a whisper, a little scared to hear the answer.

"they left. around the time they were twelve, i think. shoko was miserable. brought me and her flowers and bread; the most polite troubled kid i ever saw." she sighed."i was stupid."

neighbor!maki

"hi!

"hi." your neighbor takes a second to look at you.

"s-sorry, i don't mean to impose but could i ask for your help?"

"with what?" she asks with a raised brow.

"um, my sink fucking broke. a-and i saw you with a toolbox the other day and i t-thought maybe you could help me? if not, that's totally fine."

"do i make you nervous, maki?"

"no."

she goes to grab the bottle from your hand, fingers brushing over yours.

"thirsty, maybe?"

"curious, maybe."

OC vs Cockroach

Rules: Rate your OCs on how well they’d fare against a cockroach

(For this one, we're gonna get a main character from each of my WIPS >:) because i love y'all and you deserve it)

Piers: 8/10 They'll jump and maybe screech from being startled, especially if it's close by, but they can squash it and clean it up after a bit

Brigid: 0/10 They do not do bugs. Like, at all. Melody will have to come evict it from their dorm room. Alternatively, they'll panic and try to set it on fire and likely scorch a couple other things in the process.

Izumi: 2/10 oh god the way they move Izumi will scream and will make Lapis or Andy come kill it. If she's left to her own devices, there's a 50/50 chance she'll either smash it with her shoe or just cry until it goes away. She's forgetful enough though that she will forget it existed though after a few hours...

Garlan: 10/10 This woman will pick that bug up barehanded and toss it out the window. Her office is covered in papers and stray offerings so roaches (or equivalent in her world) are pretty common

Bithos: 9/10 Smash that fucker, no hesitation, but he might get a little grossed out trying to clean it up.

Cassander: 2/10 No thank you. He will actively call Felix, who is on a mission, to come get it. If it disappears, he will burn the entire house down rather than it come back. (He's not scared of them, but he finds them weird and unnerving).

Alyx: 5/10 Might have a hard time finding the roach (blind) and will absolutely panic if he loses it. If she does find it, she can kill it and toss it without a problem.

Jesse: -10/10 Screaming crying, Lucio has to come get it before he has a mental breakdown (again)

Carter: 10/10 Easy peasy, will pick the bug up and gently place it outside, much to the horror of his husband who is terrified of roaches

Hank: 7/10 Despite being a farming man, he does NOT like how they move. He can get it killed (eventually) but it might take him a minute or to to get the guts to kill it.

LeBlanc: -1000000/10 He opened a package of wafers once and there was one inside the box that fell on him and the poor man has never been the same. He will scream like a little girl and someone else (Micah) will have to come kill it. If it somehow goes missing, he will never step foot in that room again unless it is killed.

Alba Grey: 5/10 Depends. If she's trying to impress Mavi and/or Tabs, she can do it easy peasy, but if she's alone? She might have a slight crying session and have to summon all of her courage to smack it with her shoe. (Don't let the badass exterior fool you)

Karson: ???/10 Isn't bothered by bugs in his space. The only reason he'll even deal with it is if August sees it and gets scared.

Cal: 0/10 NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE this boy does not do bugs (although there is a chance he'll think it's a hallucination instead and just ignore it in hopes it'll go away....)

Eddie: 10/10 This man can deal with bugs so easily. Smashed and cleaned up before anyone (his daughter) notices

—hmm I love all because of the different reasons but royal au, enemies to lovers and street dancer Eddie funny because of the new aus and kind of new possibilities for out boys and exploring them.

—hmmm I think it is Buck wears skirts well cause I have some insecurities about it

—i don't have a lot OC but my favs are Danny from wooing Buck. cause he's sweet and really likes Buck and wants to treat him right hoe Buck deserves. And Alex Diaz aka Eddie's little menace cousin. I love him cause he's funny and smart and knows what to do to make his stupid cousin admit his feelings

—hmm probably royal au or bra fic. But I have some ideas which are probably will win

—Buck sold his life 1000000%%%%%

53, and i only made this account and started posting on it in january of this year. i'm very normal

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

144,946

3. What fandoms do you write for?

mostly just mat fandoms to be honest, although i've got like... 4? non-mat fics on this account. i will be disregarding those 4 fics from now on (because obviously bigger fandoms get more recognition and this is a Mat Account)

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

- Cold Turkey - 24 kudos, pat/thomas

- Performance - 22 kudos, thomas/julian, thomas/getting bukkaked by all the ghosts

- Follow Through - 22 kudos, alison/thomas

- Simon Says - 20 kudos, mat/simon

- Permanently - 16 kudos, julian/thomas

obviously since ghosts is the biggest mat show, it makes sense (not really anyone reading fics for ymata, spy, the wrong mans, etc)

5. Do you respond to comments?

i'm a lazy shit, and usually forget. when my friends comment they also tend to message me about it in the mat discord (if you're 18+ and want to join hmu it's a lot of fun) where i post all my fics too, so i tend to reply to them over there to be honest, but sometimes when i remember or am particularly touched by a comment i will go and reply

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

definitely "tell me what you imagine, when you think of me." rip ariel. literally

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

okay well it's not actually finished yet, though i have a good idea of where i'm taking it when i get around to writing more, but i'd say Fixer-Upper probably. chris waltzes into joe's life, improves it, then starts giving him lots of kinky sex while they also dance around ~actually dating~ (which they will end up doing properly. when i get around to writing it)

8. Do you get hate on fics?

generally, no. i make it clear what my fics contain, whether that's kinks, rpf, dubcon/noncon, etc, so most people know not to click if they're not interested. i did have a hate comment on simon says a while back, i remember because it was genuinely funny

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

yes, lol. and all kinds, ranging from sweet to kinky as sin

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

i write many crossovers, i mean. i write a lot of mat character/mat character so like chris x joe (spy x reluctant persuaders), ariel x chris (ymata x spy), but yeah they're only really crossovers in the sense that i'm like hmm this mat character should fuck/date this mat character. the only ones i *properly* create a believable crossover world for are my chris x joe fics, because i'm very normal about them

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

don't see why anyone would bother stealing mine, the mat fandom is so tiny there's not much to steal. emma @toomanyfandomsneverenoughtime has written a few fics based on my favourite chris x joe crossover world i created, though, which isn't stealing but the greatest gift ever <3

12. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

no, actually! i would 1000000% cowrite with emma though. if she wanted to :3

13. What's your all time favourite ship?

look. look.l ook. i can't choose between ariel x jamie and chris x joe but if i had to. chris x joe lol

14. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you will?

i fully intend to finish my wips! i have the next chapter and a half written for Paid in Trade, i just haven't published it, and i've also got further plans for Fixer-Upper, and those are my only wips. most of my fics just tend to be smutty oneshots tbh

15. What are your writing strengths?

i write pretty good smut when i actually put in the effort, as opposed to being like oh god i have this smutty idea and i need to get it out of my head so i'm just gonna write it all in two hours and then post it because why not

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

having patience. i'm trying to write a longer sam/marat fic at the moment but i just keep wanting to rush ahead to the good bit rather than drag out the slow burn, even though i really want to. i'm impatient af tbh

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

i only speak english and would probably definitely butcher another language. however if i ever have a need for a character to speak another language, i would probably make it czech so i could get @the-illuminated-one to provide me with actual sensical sentences as opposed to google translating it

18. First fandom you wrote for?

ohhhh wow kingdom hearts lol. but those are all wiped from the internet. there's still some ancient glee fics i wrote out there though, which came right after the kh era

19. Favourite fic you've written?

keeping it within the mat fandoms once again (otherwise i will just talk about my jopper fake dating fic which i am still so fucking proud of lol), probably come closer (ariel x jamie), but there's also a few fics i'm working on that are completely unpublished atm that i am very very attached to haha

hi!! its the anon who was about to start reading the ayakashi series (at least, the last time i sent a message; doyoung's story ruined me beautifully btw). i recently mentioned your works in a conversation with a friend, who now constantly sends me her thoughts on any fic of yours that she's read (she recently read ten's route for sleepless cinderella, truly did not expect how that story went in the middle; the whole "ten is missing" part was so good we felt so anxious reading it as well. then you healed it over pretty nicely with the ending so we didnt have to finish that fic in tears, 1000000/10 🌟). she doesnt have tumblr, refuses to make one for a reason idk, so she reads on ao3. just wanted to say we both can't wait for your upcoming works and talk about it together 🫶🏼 (as a mark stan, she's excited for baby fangs; i'm personally excited about frankenstein complex)

i’m rating the Chinese outfits bnha drew the characters in (because i’m half chinese so here’s my two cents), so strap in

disclaimer: these outfits are fine and are gorgeous. this is just how i personally see how well they fit the characters

edit: added a link to part 2 so i don’t have to scroll through my blog to re-read my review lol

i’m going to start from left to right, descriptions will be added as i rate the outfits

Fumikage Tokoyami wears a dark purple/almost black outfit. I think it’s an outer coat or it could be a longer version of a changshan, i’m not entirely sure what it is. The borders are silver and work really well as an accent color to the overall plain outfit (there are no patterns) and the red frog clasps really pop well (and work well with his red chokers. 1000000/10 outfit, good use of color and fits well with the character. i’d wear it

Momo Yaoyorozu wears a red sleeveless qipao, and the skirt ends about halfway down her thighs(?). She also wears red high heels and in this, is holding two red fans. The qipao has golden flower designs and the edges are gold, with black frog clasps. The collar is also a more modern style, it makes a sort of a pentagon down the neck and ends just above where her collarbone is. It’s a nice outfit, but I don’t think the gold was a good choice to go with this particular shade of red. I also personally think that the skirt should be longer (partially bc momo gets sexualized so many times already) simply because I think it’d look better and not make her legs so long (and if her footwear is going to be pump heels [?], then there’s a lot of exposed skin that’s just. why). 6/10, it’s a nice qipao, just the gold doesn’t work with the shade of red for me and they really should’ve given her boots

Eijirou Kirishima is in just black pants with a red sash wrapping around his waist. He’s also wearing black slip-on sneakers and white socks. It works as a Eijirou outfit and the color distribution is nice, I suppose. 8/10, looks plain and kind of boring.

Katsuki Bakugo is wearing what I want to describe as a typical martial arts outfit that’s in all orange, with a black belt, white and black leg wraps, and black slip-on sneakers. Surprisingly for me, the all-orange outfit works really well, and the black and white is done well. However, it goes against Katsuki’s already-established aesthetic of all-dark clothes with bright-colored accents, so it’s a good outfit overall, just not one I’d’ve put Katsuki in. 8/10, good outfit, just not Bakugo’s style

Mashirao Ojiro is in a light grey typical martial arts outfit, but it’s hard to tell since he’s in a dynamic pose that mostly just shows his legs and blocks my view of the rest of the outfit. It works for him, but now I’m just itching to put him in something more eye-catching than a remixed version of his Hero costume. 5/10, works for him, just boring.

Tsuyu Asui is dresed like a jiangshi. I want to know the reasoning why they put her in that and not in a qipao like they did for the other three girls featured (Momo, Ochako, and Kyouka are all in qipao), so add Tsuyu’s qipao to the list of WiPs I have going on. 8/10, it’s fine for an outfit and it’s cute, but in the spirit of all the other girls getting qipao, she should as well.

Minoru Mineta is wearing a yellow and Bruce Lee jumpsuit and frankly? this is an insult to Bruce Lee’s legacy. No rating, I don’t want to look longer than I have to.

Shouta Aizawa is wearing a medium grey outfit similar to Fumikage, with silver cuffs and white socks in black slip-on sneakers. So of course, he looks really good, though I’d argue that his outfit is a bit too light for his usual style, but I guess they didn’t want his costume to be in the same range as Fumikage, so they put him in a lighter grey. 100/10, good outfit, just a little lighter than usual.

i know that there are other characters to do, but i’ll break up the posts for my sanity lol

Currently reading: stephenie mayer's midnight sun :'D this is for uni bc i am apparently continuing my analysis of twilight in my master's thesis. it's actually quite interesting to see these events unfold from edward's perspective (which probably tells a lot more about how bella has been written rather than the series and its plot)

Currently watching: last twilight and my journey to you. i still cannot believe last twilight is real even if i've now watched the first ep twice. with my journey to you, i only have the last two eps left. should finish it soon! after that i have some shows on my list to check out, most of those ones that recently started airing.

Current favorite character: mork. after today it's 1000000% mork. obsessed with this man. he's so freaking hot. i am having a mental breakdown about it. like damn p'aof put so much effort into making jimmy look like this and somehow managed to make him ten times sexier, that's insane. just look at him:

Current WIP: currently i have three fics i am actively working on/juggling but idk if any of them will be finished any time soon. the first one would be my puentalay fic which i've been working on for over a year now. i love it to bits but it hates me. another one is my waitalay soulmates fic that started well but then got stuck somewhere bc am just a horrible perfectionist when it comes to writing wai. it's fun tho bc wai is so messy (and i get to throw him together with pat, pran AND korn. he's not having fun tho, sorry buddy). and the last one would be my morkday reincarnation "quick fic" where the main idea was to just have morkday have random conversations about these dreams day is having about them as different ppl in different lives. those lives would include mekpangpond (in the world of 55:15), waitay (in the world of bad buddy), and puentalay. this was mainly inspired by jimmysea's new solo roles in ploy's yearbook and the trainee which seemed to slot well with their previous solo roles. let's see if that ever comes to an end tho. i have a clear vision but writing is hard.

17. What do you do when writing becomes difficult? (maybe a lack of inspiration or writers block)

oh man i hate to get stuck on wording, but i don't really believe in writer's block!! i wrote a whole post about it here but the short version is that i believe when you are having trouble writing, summing up the general trouble as "writer's block" just makes the problem harder to solve. it's always down to something specific: do i not know where to go next? am i lacking joy in the craft? is there a big intimidating restructure in my future? (there is literally one of these on both my wips currently. kill me) so, to actually answer the question instead of being pedantic, step number one is ALWAYS to figure out EXACTLY why i'm not feeling it. when you figure out what the problem is it's a LOT easier to come up with solutions.

the other thing i do is manage my soundscape. this includes music - i have adhd, so the "right" music, preferably songs i can loop 1000000 times without getting tired of them, will make or break my productivity to a ridiculous degree - but it also includes ambient sounds. i really like this website because you can make your own mixes, and they have a whole section dedicated to fandom-based ones folks have made: inside the tardis, driving the impala, inside the jedi temple, whatever. (they have similar fandom-related atmospheres for video games on youtube. here's one of my favorites.) making one sometimes veers into productive procrastination, but when i'm having trouble getting started (often the hardest part) it usually does the trick. fellow insomniacs - they're also great for falling asleep, lol.

22. Are there certain types of writing you won’t do? (style, pov, genre, tropes, etc)

not really. i don't have the same problem with first-person, for example, that a lot of other people seem to, and i like an excuse to do a different style or whatever. even things i don't normally read for, like non-con, is something i have written about happening in the past (not onscreen) when the situation calls for it. i have only two hard limits: omegaverse and aus. you won't catch me dead doing either one. i think the first is self-explanatory, but as to the latter: i think so much of characters is who they are and their history. when you write an au from the ground up - like, a flowershop au or whatever, as opposed to an au that just veers away from canon at some point - you are taking and rewriting that entire history, and those characters become different people, and my investment almost instantly tanks to zero. i know those people, i don't care about them, and i don't want to write them. i don't even read aus unless it's from an author whose fic i absolute die over...right now, i could count those authors on one hand, lol. fusion aus are a bit of a gray area if i like both properties in question. i did once outline a titanic au for [redacted fandom] and also an anastasia au for bbc merlin*. but that's because i like both the movie anastasia and the characters from merlin. and even then, it's only a tumblr post to exorcise it from my brain - it's never something i'd turn into an actual fic.

23. Best writing advice for other writers?

YOU MUST HAVE FUN. you must you must you MUST have fun. do not do the thing if you do not love to do it. if you do not feel joy when creating then it will come through in the work, like a cranky cook burning their food. if you are writing only for comments: don't. if you are writing because you think you will let down friends/readers/etc otherwise: don't. "write for yourself" doesn't mean don't share work it means write because it makes you happier, or because you'll die if you don't. DON'T DO IT if it doesn't bring you joy!!!!!

35. What is one essential thing to remember when writing a villain?

two things. i'm cheating a little sorry. the first thing is pretty simple and common villain advice: remember that in your villain's pov they are the hero, or at the very least are justified. very few good, well-rounded villains are out here twirling their mustaches and being evil for the sake of evil.

the second thing is DO NOT make your protagonists less competent in order to make your villain seem more scary. this will backfire on you every fucking time. if you want your villain to seem smarter and stronger you cannot simply just make your protagonists dumber and weaker. otherwise they look like out-of-character idiots. consider the character of theo in teen wolf's fifth season...regardless of how you feel about the character, especially in other seasons, it's hard to argue his introductory arc was well-structured. in just a few short episodes, he managed to break years-long bonds between established characters...because the writers decided to make those characters mistrustful and misunderstanding of each other for no reason. instead of ANY of these characters using their brains or believing their good friends, they all acted exactly as theo predicted BECAUSE the writers wanted theo to seem smart and good at manipulating people. but it's definitely NOT how those guys would have acted if they were real people, and theo certainly didn't manage to trick us, the audience - so they just look like morons, instead. (this is why season 5 is the worst season by the way.) never do this. figure out what your characters would do first and THEN use your godlike powers to come up with a way to manipulate them. you're in charge of this thing after all!!!

I have a very specific favorite comment format and it's so fucking needy of me so no pressure to anyone reading to comment like this!!! but my favorite kind of comment is 1000000% when it's formatted like this:

Sincerely, I've said it before and I'll say it again: in the least creepy way possible, I would watch everyone react to every line of my fic if I could. Sometimes I just write a line I'm really proud of and I want it to be the line that makes someone laugh or shout or tear up and I love when people tell me what parts made them feel things!!! Also sometimes people point out lines that I didn't think twice about, ones that just came naturally, but they still make people lose it and I love that just as much!!

a close second favorite kind of comment is just when people leave me a really, really long comment about the things they loved in the chapter. Seriously, every time I get a comment that's an essay it makes me want to never stop writing 😂 Basically, much like my Jason, I'm a sucker for praise.

🦋what are you most insecure about when you post a fic?

Oh noooooooo I have to be vulnerable??? Fuck. Okay, fine.

I'm usually the most insecure about the way the tone of the scenes flow together. I'm a bit of a freak about the plotline? And when I say 'a bit of a freak', I mean I have a full-size corkboard with all of the plotpoints of Know Yourself on it. Like I'm Charlie in that one gif from It's Always Sunny with the insane red string conspiracy theory board. Below is the Evidence in case you thought I was joking (I blurred out everything that was a spoiler, don't worry. Or sorry):

...Yeah. It's a lot. Sometimes I just really struggle with feeling like the moods/tone flows from scene to scene. If they're mad at each other, I need it not to feel like they're forgiving each other too easily. If they have a huge argument, they can't just go back to exactly how it was before (looking at you, chapter 7 of Know Yourself, which is giving me an absurd amount of trouble). Thus, the corkboard. It lets me quickly look at everything I've already written (without reading all *squints* 50k words I've posted, jesus fucking christ) and figure out if everything I'm working on makes sense with what came before that.

And yeah, it is a lot of work and dedication for the silly little fanfics I write, but it's sort of like a puzzle to me? It's satisfying to untie all the tangled ideas I have and make them into something pretty.

That said, TimKon never gives me as much trouble as JayTim. I should really post some of my TimKon stuff lol

💌share something with us about an up-and-coming work (WIP) that has you excited!

Oh my god, this was cruel. You may not have known this was cruel, but this was cruel. Because the last time you sent me an ask, I knew I had a ton of ideas and I teased like two of them, but since then, the JayTimWeek prompts went up. And I promised myself I wasn't going to write something for every day, but then I blinked and I had ideas for every single day.

So, what to do? Do I post a snippet from one of my JayTim week WIPs? Do I post a minor spoiler for Know Yourself that you asked about in one of your comments? Do I drop all 6k words of chapter 1 of a long TimKon fic that's been sitting in my drafts for months? Do I tease an idea that I'm submitting for a zine? Do these questions count as an answer to the prompt, because I can't decide which I'm the most excited about?

No, I'm not that mean 😂 Here are two of the lines I'm most proud of from the next chapter of Know Yourself, which are in the same scene but not next to each other and don't spoil anything:

Jason was the one who had overreacted in the first place, filing Tim’s teeth to a sharp point in the hopes that he’d bite.

But then he fucked it all up. He’d done what he did best: tried to freeze over his white-hot anger, and still managed to be surprised when the ice cracked and steam shot out.

Thanks for the ask!!! I love doing these so thank you for making me answer and giving me an excuse to rest from writing (although @lovetimdrake is going to send me a meme in like 3 hours bullying me (rightfully) about how I'm supposed to be betaing their fic lol)

Because he’s definitely a ghost, this boy. At first glance he looks normal, standing there pigeon-toed in a band shirt (The Ramones, Louis can’t help but note incredulously), dark jeans, and some boots, with rings on both hands, and tattoos littering his left arm—a sleeve made of anchors and names and roses and other completely unrelated things. But he’s also a little bit translucent; if Louis focuses, he can see the outline of the furniture, the design of the wallpaper through him.

“Hi,” the boy—the ghost—says to Louis. His face shifts; somehow his dimples dig deeper into his cheeks. His eyes flit from Louis, to Niall, to Liam, and finally to Zayn, and his face goes from shocked to elated. “I’m Harry.”

At in that exact moment, standing between three of his best friends and staring at a (quite handsome) ghost, Louis can only think one thing.

i am currently still focused on that pilot-era strangers pwp i snippeted the other week (huzzah! the squirrels in my brain are cooperating again!) and i am v pleased to say i am soooooooo close to having the first draft done (it uh, got longer than i meant it too, everyone is shocked, i know).

i've also got a 416 missing scene(s) fic swimming around in my head i found myself mentally writing dialogue for while i cooked dinner last night (crispy gnocchi with burst tomatoes and mozzarella, 1000000/10, highkey recommend) so that's probs gonna happen sooner rather than later and i've been feeling the pacific rim au a lot recently but i've been saying that for a year plus, so. grain of salt.

ANYWAY, please enjoy this snippet (including a bit from a wip word game my b for the duplication) from the stangers pwp!

“Elizabeth,” she says. Her, but not her.

“Elizabeth.”

He repeats her name slowly like he’s wrapping his lips around each syllable, running his tongue over them and tasting them. Beth sticks out her hand, trying to cover up the shiver she can’t quite suppress.

“And you are?”

He takes it—his palm is warm, his fingers lightly calloused and rough against her own—and looks her up and down again, slower this time.

Beth’s mouth goes dry, that heavy caressing feeling morphing into pins and needles dancing along her limbs, leaving sparks and goosebumps in their wake. He’s looking at her like he sees her and a part of her feels like it’s holding its breath, waiting for an answer to a question she didn’t mean to ask.

“Christopher,” he says, shaking her hand then releasing it, his fingers trailing over her knuckles as he lets go.

“And what do you do, Christopher?” Beth asks, washing down his name with another swallow of bourbon, the burn of it mingling with the vowels and consonants and pooling deep in her belly.

He smiles, his teeth white, his eyes twinkling. “Single dad.”

Beth’s eyes narrow, and she searches his face, trying to determine if he’s making fun of her. “Stay at home?”

His smile goes lopsided, the slightly off-kilter quirk of it the only thing keeping it from turning into a full smirk. “Somethin’ like that.”

She wonders how much of it is a lie, if he’s mirroring her and making up a fantasy version of himself or if part of it’s true—him, but not him.

“Not a lot of parents in the pick-up line with neck tattoos,” she says, huffing a little at the thought of the chaos someone like him would wreak on the mom chains.

There’s that flash of teeth again. “Not a lot of parents like me in the pick-up line.”

It’s too much, the arrogant satisfaction he says it with, and Beth snorts, rolling her eyes before she can stop herself. She winces, bracing herself for the bright, interested spark to fade, for his jaw to tighten as irritation takes its place.

But instead, if anything, that spark flares, his smile widening into more of a grin that crinkles the skin around his eyes before it fades into something more considering. He cocks his head, his eyes sweeping over her again, but slower this time.

Beth’s pulse thumps, and she can feel the beat of it reverberating through her whole body, all the way down to the tips of her toes curling in her shoes. Blinking, she takes another sip of her drink, startling a little when she realizes she’s reached the end of her glass.

“So, a thief, huh?” The guy catches the bartender’s eye, circling a long, elegant finger, signaling for another round.

“Oh, I—” Beth starts to fumble for her purse, but he waves her off.

“How’d you do it?” he asks, pivoting in his full body in his seat, so he’s facing her. “Rob your grocery store?”

They’re close enough that his denim-covered knee brushes up against her thigh right where the hem of her dress gives way to bare skin. This time Beth can’t stop her shiver, and she knows he catches it from the way his smile sharpens, and she thinks...she thinks—

Well, she doesn’t think. Instead, she turns on her stool, letting her leg press more fully against his as she props her elbow on the bar, rests her cheek in her hand, and tells him.
