Ik the good omens fandom has different takes on God as a character, but I like the idea that she DOES have an ineffable plan, and Heaven is doing their absolute worst job carrying it out.
Most angels never talk to God, and they're usually selfish, they don't do the right thing (only what they're told), and it's even possible they're working under a corrupt power (like the Metatron). I like that theory because Metatron IS the barrier between God and the angels. He could easily lie to them and change plans, and we the audience know that "friendly old man metatron" swindling Aziraphale is not what he seems.
But from the beginning, we see inconsistency. Crowley falls from heaven after asking questions/hanging out with the wrong group while Aziraphale is allowed to lie about the flaming sword and change Heaven's plans. God can see how much he cares about humans and the earth by his actions (Crowley being the same), which makes me think that him getting away with it is intentional, not inconsistent or neglectful. ESPECIALLY if Aziraphale and Crowley run heaven and hell respectively in season 3. They have the power to change things, just like they stopped the world from ending the first time. I think Crowley and Aziraphale ARE the ineffable plan.
Their love could bridge the gap between opposing forces in a way that it couldn't if they were both angels. After all, both heaven and hell think they're doing the better thing while they're both not. Crowley and Aziraphale are the best of both sides.
If bringing them together was God's plan, it'd be a powerful story for queer Christians!! A lot of us have been hurt by the church, but we hold on to God's love, which doesn't fail us. We stay in a religion with a history of fighting queerness not because we're all brainwashed, but because we wholeheartedly believe in a God that loves us. Sometimes I see good omens' heaven as an analogy for toxic churches, and I'd love nothing more than for Aziraphale to realize heaven is working against God. Not to mention God using a gay couple to save the world/save heaven from corruption?? I'd kill for that storyline
Secondly, Aziraphale's devotion wouldn't have been for nothing. If God was awful the whole time, it defeats the times he and Crowley reached out, and the moment in the GOs1 finale where Crowley says, "what if you're going AGAINST God's ineffable plan?" to Gabriel and Beelzebub. (It'd almost defeat the purpose of her being the quirky narrator following their story, too.)
Even Crowley, never fooled by "heaven is all good" calls for God in his time of need ("God listening? Show me an ineffable plan.") (Possibly when he reaches to the sky in order to stop time) (Calling for God before Satan in the burning bookshop) (Looking up and muttering "God" after realizing Aziraphale is going to leave him in s2)
Lastly, after the trauma that both Crowley and Aziraphale went through, with Crowley falling and Aziraphale coming to terms with heaven's corruption (and both being mistreated by their side) it'd be nice to have been for a reason. They have every right to grieve and be angry for all that they went through, and the centuries that they weren't supposed to love each other, but I believe the series will end on a positive, sweet note, like the rainbow after a storm.
Like Job, they're losing almost everything (their relationship as it was, the bookshop, and the life they carved out), but they have each other. I think they'll lose everything to save EVERYONE, and in the end, the reward will top the pain. No holding back, no forces hunting them down, just them together after a PAINFULLY long time with everything they'd wanted.
We know that God doesn't get around to answering many questions, but her speech to Job was in part to say "trust me"
She laid the foundations of the earth. She made every living thing. Job couldn't see past the destruction of his life, but she has a plan. Job is a valuable human being, but he doesn't have the power and knowledge of God. God will share her plan when he can make a whale. Otherwise, he can trust that "Most things are fine in the end"
*Aziraphale voice* That's ineffable!

Speaking of Tyrest. A lot of people forget that he treated Pharma with absolute disdain, not only using him as a test subject for a clearly painful mass murder machine, but talking to Pharma like he saw him as nothing but some henchman to order around that was nothing more than a 'diseased cripple' if Tyrest hadn't come to rescue him.
Like it really is an interesting background dynamic with some curious implications, but when you look at fandom posts from around that issue/the years after, for some reason people just saw "Pharma worked with Tyrest" and concluded Pharma is a card carrying bigot ksjfnskxkd. Like yeah Pharma didn't do anything to stop Tyrest but it seems his main beef with the Autobots was with Ratchet in particular and maybe a general disdain for his ex-comrades. As well as continuing to hate Decepticons which like, not even the "good Autobots" are immune to (even in Pharma's introduction, First Aid says in his journal something like "yeah we all hate Decepticons, but Pharma REALLY hates them"). And despite what fandom likes to construe there's really no evidence in IDW1 that Autobots and Decepticons are different "races" or "types" of Cybertronians, so Pharma hating Decepticons really isn't a bigotry/robot racism thing. And instead probably has something to do with, idk, the 4 million year long galaxy-spanning blood feud war, or maybe being blackmailed and tortured into insanity by the Biggest and Most Decepticon-y of Decepticons.
Tyrest treated Pharma like trash, the other Decepticons working for Tyrest (how come no one ever brings that up btw) also hated him, so if anything it seems that Pharma was more of a rogue element only staying with Tyrest bc he was his best option and probably had no way to even escape.
I'm glad that at least in recent years the fandom has acquired a keen reading eye and good taste to finally recognize Pharma as the (accidentally) complex character he is instead of making him some posh, racist Starscream clone SHSJDGSGDH
#squiggposting#pharma apologism#yeah i'm apologisting again i guess my mental health is somewhat okay again dkdkkxckkddkd#(my followers seeing me post about pharma) nature is healing#there's also that line where pharma says 'maybe i can help' and skids is like#'fuck off and hope we don't beat you to death after this is over'#they didnt know that pharma was a test subject of the killswitch but wow#that's prolly one of the most out of pocket moments of the story that ive never seen anyone mention#honestly that moment is why i think JRO didnt intend pharma to be That Deep#i feel like that sort of 'not even other autobots like him' treatment is something#that comes up a lot in JRO's villain writing. or like asshole behavior towards some characters#is just plot events proceeding as usual. nothing to see just villains getting their due#tho tbh pharma's character in general suffers from the problem that he's so closely related to a main/major characyer#that it wouldve made way more sense for him to be written in earlier#so all his connections w/ ratchet and the plot had to be established retroactively#also speaking of 'asshole behavior excused bc it's towards a villain'#all those times when people are like (fucking amazing piece of medical research by pharma)#'then he started murdering his patients. what a piece of shit'#like idk it could have been intentional but imo all my readings of pharma were not really intended by JRO#and i'm fully just headcanoning and constructing theories on my own#like pharma was simply not important enough or a major enough character to get fleshed ojt#so basically we get enough pieces of him to establish continuity and a general timeline of his life and thats all

Yuu apparently is great at the bugle. Manifesting Musically talented Yuu. Both great with a flute and a bugle.
So interestingly, it can go either way: if you click the option where Yuu essentially says, "Oh I'm not confident..." they won't sound good. But if you click that they're good at music, then Yuu will play the bugle well.
It's intriguing that the few times we see Yuu's talents is when it's with music OwO so the flute and bugle, notably they're instruments involving the mouth. Some people have pointed out the connection between Yuu's musical talent and the twistunes, which makes me go 👁👄👁 damn it would have been cool if all twistunes involved a woodwind/brass instrument. Maybe we might see other instruments that Yuu may or may not be good at in the future though. 👀

My headcanon for Meridian/Mandroid:
He is a serious denial.
Look, this dude's behavior is full of contradictions. He believes that he should to be a Cybertronian to defeat Cybertronians. He claims to be a defender of humanity, but he's attacks human family for being with his enemies. He literally gave the Terrans the name “Terrans”, the same guy who hates them because they are aliens.
Honestly it is a clear metaphor to keep replacing his own body with the alien robots' limb. He even said to Twitch and Thrash that "we have much in common." Considers how queer-coded this show, it is very intentional. So it's unfortunate that he immediately turned them into enemies without thinking more about what they share.
Also I don't think he abandons his human body to become a Cybertronian. It seems more like he seeks the reason to Cybertronians what caused him to abandon his human body. Everything he has done is from pain that his identity is inconsistent with his past identity – which is virtually dead.
This suggests he doesn't want to be a Cybertronian, but wants a name that fits him as "someone that is not Human Meridian." He will reject both "Meridian" and "Mandroid" and find his own name, and it's quite possible that he won't be satisfied after becoming a Cybertronian.
He is so blinded by hatred that he doesn't realize himself what is his true motivation.

The “Ripples” Story Has Some Interesting Implications...
So incase you didn’t know, TDP recently released their first short story from volume 2 of the “Reflections” short stories titled “Ripples”.
Tumblr media
And my god is it good! I think this story is one of the most transparent admissions of what humans went through throughout TDP that we’ve seen. It also draws some interesting implications about the whole situation that I want to talk about.
So, there is a pretty big metaphor in the stories’ use of “fire” and humans learning to use it. Given that the Wonderstorm crew have frequently referred to Aaravos as a “ Prometheus ” as one of their descriptions of him, and that Prometheus is the one who gave the humans fire in greek mythology and got punished for it (if I’m not mistaken), it can be seen that fire seems to be a stand in for magic here considering dark magic is what Aaravos gave humans.
Now here’s the funny thing though, I originally thought the story was talking about dark magic when it mentioned fire, but many people have correctly pointed out that ripples is the story of how Aaravos came to Xadia, from his perspective. If that is the case, then the “fire” the humans found couldn’t have been dark magic, it had to have been something they found before dark magic. (Either primal magic or proto-magic which is that old magic source that came before primal magic that’s been teased).
Why is this important? Because the story states that after the humans discovered how to use this “fire”, Xadia, or at least the startouch elves, weren’t too happy with humans learning how to use this magic and getting power they weren’t supposed to yield, and so, THEY LITERALLY HUNTED THE HUMANS DOWN!
Now if this was dark magic, this would align sort of with what we already know, just explained in a far more brutal way (which I’m all for).
BUT!
We’ve already established that this is more than likely NOT dark magic and so the disdain against humans and the subsequent hunting of them came from LITERALLY JUST LEARNING MAGIC ON ITS OWN. Because according to them, humans shouldn’t have the power and it’s “unnatural” or whatever.
Which, holy hell, not only does this make Xadia far more cruel then I even thought, it also leaves the implication for the true reason humanity got banished for dark magic.
They were banished for dark magic, yes, but if the “Ripples” story is to be believed (and it’s narrated by Aaravos so unreliable narrator and all that, but then again so is everyone in the show) that means that the true reason Xadia was so outraged by dark magic is likely for the same reason humans were hunted for learning magic in the first place.
It gave them power. It gave them magic. Humans weren’t born with that, so they shouldn’t have power. And if humans get power, they can challenge the status quo.
And we can’t have that....
Can we now?
This story honestly leads me to the idea that the humans were banished in their use of dark magic because it was something that could challenge the status quo, something that could get humans on an equal playing field. And the elves and the dragons? Well... they didn’t like that. The fact that dark magic can kill magical creatures? Well, isn’t that just the perfect convenient justification to do what we already want to do to them...
Or maybe it was just the dragons, who really knows at this point. We know elves have been more or less subservient to them, the dragons could have told elves it was for the moral reason, that it kills magical creatures while keeping the true reason to themselves. After all, dragons are the most powerful creatures in Xadia, and the difference between elves and humans? Well.. elves understand how to get in line...
It’s about time humans learned their place...
Now admittedly, this whole theory of dark magic killing magical creatures just being a convenient justification to banish humans is not new. I was always intrigued by the theory, but I never actually truly believed in it because there had been no implication to suggest that... but now... I mean... this story seems to point to it a bit stronger... and I kinda do believe...
Either way I’m excited as hell for the possible implications that this can have on the show going forward. Maybe we’ll finally see some true Xadian villainy in the show, or at least a proper acknowledgement of what happened by those Xadians that now seek peace and mending (Zubeia, Rayla). This got me truly excited for season 5 because of what it suggests they may do going forward, and the fact that Sol Regem has been heavily teased to make a comeback in season 5.... oh boy.... I hope they give him the chance he always deserved to represent all the evil on the Xadian side.
It’s about time humans learned their place after all...
I’ll be waiting for you, Sol Regem.

hmm what about theory number 4?? i think dazai would want to bring oda back but there might be consequences that hold him back
We know Beast!Dazai used to be ADA!Dazai, so while I'm struggling to imagine our current Dazai deciding to throw everything away to bring Oda back, something must have happened for Beast!Dazai to go that route. Maybe he thought he could bring Oda back and still keep the universe as-is, but after realizing it wasn't feasable kind of went off the rails trying over and over. Like of what happened to (55 Minutes Spoilers!) Jules Verne.
That said, I do see Dazai developing another agenda besides getting the Book away from Fyodor. The idea that he can just...undo death, is such a Dazai move. His main fear of living comes from being afraid of attatchments, cause after you lose them, then what? But if he can bring back everything and everyone he's ever lost, then...well, then he doesn't have to fear that anymore.
As for the actual theory, I don't see why Asagiri would set up the alternate reality shenanigans in Beast if they were not going to be relevant, mechanically, in the future. Having to alter reality itself is such a finale!idea, we're no longer dealing with typical stakes here, we're dealing with the nature of abilities and the world of BSD itself, and I think the Book bringing about the main conflict would be the perfect way to end the series.

I saw a theory where dark enchantress is just white lily's body where the actual lily is a ghost still roaming around looking for her memories and that's explains why she acts like a ghost like disappearing and reappearing and can easily gets stuck at the mirror at the first part of the game story
I feel that will gonna do if white lily's get release
Yeah I can see that happening
I’ve actually been wondering if the Soul Jam has anything to do with the whole double White Lily case we’ve got going on, considering that the Soul Jams are technically also the Ancients themselves (I think it’s like an extension of their consciousness?), so maybe that could be the reason why she’s a ghost?

if will byers has a villain arc i hope they do so using a madness arc as that would make the most sense for his character with all he’s been through already kinda setting the foundations for mental instability through his relatively untreated ptsd, him being isolated from the others the last couple seasons, and what mindset vecna will manipulate him into to lead him to make those choices in his moments of vulnerability, but idk… can we trust the duffers to conduct topics like that in an educated way like, say, arcane did? what do we think?

I think de is quite confusing as a character and villain and her connection w white lily unfortunately doesnt help even though its supposed to expand on her but i would love to hear ppls thoughts on wat shes doing and her beliefs esp since shes apparently coming back in odyssey ch3. The way i see it white lily is a healer and her research drove her towards finding out why cookies r made but i think dark enchantress is less concerned with protecting cookies from the witches tho i think theres still merit to this idea since de is meant to b made of poison & most of the cookies of darkness r either also poisonous (shroomy) or bitter and broadly disliked foods (dchoco/licorice) besides pommy but im sure theres smth else to b said abt pomegranates in literature that i wouldnt know. But like all of this is kind of contradicted by the fact that she’s attacking and killing other cookies who just dont have the same knowledge abt the witches that she has without explaining herself
Tower of sweet chaos i feel leans reaaaaaaally heavy into cookie existentialism and gives the witches a much bigger cosmic horror element than in ovenbreak in the way that they p much arent present in the world of the cookies at all besides this doomsday cult that see them as gods but theyre still so unknowable to the cookies worshipping them that the witches plates r chairs and tables, a cake tower is a giant army base with stairs to climb up. Basically a cookies entire world can just be on the dinner table of a witch and they dont know that and if they do they still struggle to truly understand it. Like when white lily was at the night of the witches theyre so huge and incomprehensible to her theyre just voices in the sky. So i think when she and pastry fell into the ultimate dough that gave them knowledge of the full extent of the world as the witches see it which is hard for a cookie to deal with both bc like ur made to be eaten which is Scary but as well as that youre entirely inconsequential to the world at large and these gods the witches barely care abt u as more than a snack. And for pastry she had her cult to seek comfort from even though it didn’t work out well for her but for white lily she was alone so she had to grapple w the incomprehensible and took it out as anger against cookiekind. U know the thought experiment abt the ant who for 1 second gets put into the consciousness of a human and sees all of the complexity and massiveness of life from our perspective but then immediately becomes an ant again and just has to deal w what they just learnt. And now imagine the ant sees its colony building a hill and bringing food back but now it knows how small the colonys hill is in perspective to the entire planet and it could just be stepped on and destroyed at any second and every ant in the hill would die instantly and the human that stepped on it is so uncaring it wouldnt even realise it destroyed an ants world. And the ant can do fuckall to grapple w the futility of its entire life bc its impact on the world is so microscopic that its helpless to everything. and all it can do is envy the ignorance of the other ants and lash out against its own kind in rage. So thats how i see de

i do think it's really funny that JDK as a project started out with Jonas as the main focus and everything else secondary, but then I put my repurposed old edgy OC i adored when I was 12 in it.......and now I'm just like "what if she gets to be super important too? What if she's just as integral to the story?" bc i have no self control
