The Parallels of Resident Lover
It is common knowledge within the Resident Lover fandom that there are many parallels in the game, namely Miranda and Bela. However. I am here to tell you there is a much more extreme and serious parallel, one that no one else has pointed out before.
Alcina Dimitrescu and Lois Griffin are parallels of each other. I know, I know, your mind MIGHT be blown right now, to the point where you don't get it. But do not fret, fellow Resident Lovers, for I am here to elaborate on the truth.
EXHIBIT A: APPEARANCES
Tumblr media
It is no secret that both Alcina and Lois are, well, attractive. Lois Griffin is consistently called one of the hottest mothers in animation, while Alcina has a fanbase of dedicated people purely because of her appearance. These two ladies are naturally attractive; some people even call them MILFS. It's not just how hot the two are; they have different little things scattered throughout that are obviously meant to mirror each other. Lois has bright red lipstick, referencing her still mainly happy attitude, while Alcina has dark red lipstick, highlighting the dark secrets she holds. They both have earings; the earrings that Lois wears are much more modest, as she is a simple housewife that doesn't want to show off, while Alcina is rich and always ready to stun. They both wear pants. They both have short hair, representing their bold and headstrong attitudes, and it is styled in such a classy manner that upon seeing them, you know they will not mess around. Alcina is also canonically in her mid 40s, while Lois is 44.
Exhibit B: Parenthood
Tumblr media
It can be argued that Alcina and Lois aren't the best mothers. And for the most part, neither of them even realize their faults. Furthermore, their children are all parallels of each other.
Bela and Chris - Blonde
Dani and Meg - Obvious Least Favorite
Cass and Stewie - Gays with a flair for the dramatic and their own silly best friends; Cass has Elena while Stewie has Rupert
This obviously it not a coincidence. The RL team is dedicated to making sure everything has meaning, including the own family dynamics present in their families.
Lois wasn't always a terrible mother. In early seasons, she could even be considered a good mother, even if she was sometimes a bit selfish. This is just like Alcina, but instead of it being early in the game, it is the interpretation of Alcina put in by the developers. Alcina being a bad mom in contrast to her amazing parenting skills in the original game is meant to specifically reference Lois randomly becoming a terrible mother.
Exhibit C: Their Own Families
Tumblr media
Alcina and Lois both come from rich and powerful families. Alcina is from the Dimitrescu bloodline, while Lois is from the Pewterschmidt bloodline. Through their families, they both have a lot of money and property. Alcina most notably owns the manor present in the game and a castle, while Lois once inherits her aunt's mansion in the season 2 premiere, "Peter, Peter, Caviar Eater." While Lois opts to have a much more quiet and normal life, her family's worth can not be ignored. Having Alcina actively embrace the wealth her family brings contrasts Lois in such a stark way. After all, to be a parallel doesn't mean to be a carbon copy. They are not equal triangles; they are congruent.
Additionally, they both have odd brothers that they do not make much reference to and prefer to forget. Lois has Patrick and Alcina has Karl. One important thing to note is that Patrick's original voice actor was Robert Downey Jr. whilst Karl's last name is Heisenberg, the alias of Walter White. Who else is in the TV show of Walter White which is called Breaking Bad? Krysten Ritter, who plays Jessica Jones in the MCU. You see, it is easily all connected if you just take your thinking caps and your magnifying glass and look a bit close at the context clues.
Exhibit D: A Love For The Arts
Tumblr media
What is Alcina and Lois, without their love for the arts? It is no secret that Alcina is a connoisseur of arts. She even teaches Women in Art at the university. She lives for art, and even expects her children to be the same way. Meanwhile, while it is less obvious for Lois, she is easily a huge fan of art. The biggest example is in the season 2 episode, "The King Is Dead," where she is committed to having the perfect play and gets mad when Peter "ruins" it. She appreciates the arts, and to see them be disrespected hurts her. Lois is also a teacher; while she is mainly known for being a housewife, she has had multiple different jobs, including once being a music teacher at school in the episode "Connie's Celica" in season 18 and consistently being a piano teacher throughout the series. Lois is a gifted piano player and is the main aspect of the arts she appreciates. For most people, they associate her piano playing with the opening of the TV Series, which goes from her casually playing the piano to a Broadway style number, which is obviously what inspired the decision to make Cass a theatre kid.
Exhibit E: Jazz Singers
Tumblr media
While this may seem very minor, it is not. In the original game, Alcina was previously a jazz singer. Her favorite music genre is definitely jazz and she has a deep love for it. Meanwhile, Lois Griffin occasionally sings jazz throughout the series and the earliest prominent example of this in the series is the season 1 episode, "Mind Over Murder," where she begins to sing at the bar located in the basement of her house. Jazz is integral to Alcina... but would that be so true if Lois was not once a jazz singer? Her interest in jazz only exists because of Lois's connections to jazz as Alcina was directly written to be a parallel of her.
IN CONCLUSION
Tumblr media
It is undeniable that Alcina was created to be a direct parallel to Lois Griffin. Her story simply wouldn't have the same emotional impact as it does if not for this. There is so much more that can be expanded upon as well, as I only scratched the surface of their parallels. I would like to thank Seth MacFarlane for making this all possible with the creation of Family Guy, and the Resident Lover Team for creating such a moving story. Truly, we need to stop this talk about the "Miranda and Bela" parallels now that I have revealed the truth. And, of course, you're welcome Resident Lover Team, for finally spreading the truth I know you've deeply been wishing to be discovered. Especially you, @dead-finch-420, mainly because I had to utilize some of your art pieces to make this post explaining what I'm sure you knew as you drew some of these pieces.

Prompt: “Hold Onto Me”
Set in the early/ middle of season 8
Sylvie’s going to kill Stella. She’s actually going to corner her behind the rotting benches on their side of the field and murder her.
She did this. She implanted this stupid idea about her and Matt; Matt freaking Casey who has to be the worst possible person to have somewhat feelings for.
Okay, maybe Olivia is the one to blame since she said the stupid six words that can’t stop ringing through her brain like a bell. Still, Stella didn’t disagree. She also didn’t slap Sylvie across the face for even considering wanting Matt. Instead, she smirked and now she won’t let it go.
Now, she begged Sylvie to join the CFD softball team who annually plays against CPD. It’s strictly a pissing contest whose only prize is winning and bragging rights. It’s something Severide created so he could kick Jay Halstead’s ass.
Her best friend, her evil intentioned best friend, encouraged her to join this year. She insisted it was because Sylvie played softball in high school. Her friend knows she has a good arm so of course she’d want her on the team.
Wrong, this decision; this torture, is all because of Matt Casey. Stella convinced her here, so she had no choice but to stare and pine for the man who brings a whole new definition to the word swoon.
He’s hot on any given day, that much is obvious. It’s just a fact because any girl who encounters him on a scene, sweaty, stern and sometimes dirty, gets star eyes. They look at him like some Greek god and Sylvie’s human.
Matt’s incredibly attractive but this scene, this look is ungodly. When she first saw him, she rubbed her eyes so hard she saw spots. She thought she was hallucinating but this man was real.
The second-hand cheap uniform that’s oversized on her fits him amazingly. His shirt is halfway unbuttoned with the sleeves rolled up so all she can see is tan skin. Plus, his backwards baseball cap stirs something inside her that she didn’t even know existed.
Not to mention, his semi-competitive nature is a real turn on. All of it is entirely inappropriate considering he’s Gabby’s ex-husband. Matt’s her friend and she reasons with herself that any woman would admire this look. Hell, maybe Hailey and Kim are right there with her.
However, based on their starry looks for their respective partner’s, she doubts it. Unfortunately, she’s probably the only one foaming at the mouth. Well, she has seen the blonde female patrol cop making heart eyes at him.
There’s that at least.
God, she’s going to kill Stella after this. There’s no way she didn’t know what she was doing. She wanted her to have to see Matt like this. Just because she’s so happy with her own firefighter man does not give her the right.
Although Sylvie has murder on her mind, she’s also sadistically glad to play alongside him. She’s damn good and it’s thrilling to see his reaction. He even swatted her ass in congratulations after she ran into home base when Cruz advanced to first.
He’s never done that before, and she really can’t say she hated it. Although it was a little awkward when Hermann did the same thing. It’s endearing how into the game Hermann gets. She loves seeing his carefree self.
All and all, playing on the team is fun and they are definitely kicking PD’s ass. They are up by five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Jay and Atwater are good and Hailey’s surprisingly fast, but Adam and Kim can’t stop flirting to really do any good. Plus, the patrol cops Platt threatened so they’d join the team are clearly not into it. They rarely make contact with the ball or catch anything in the outfield.
Realistically, her team is in much better shape. Matt and Severide are athletes and Stella and Foster are so competitive it turns into skill. Cruz is one of the best third basemen and Gallo has hit more home runs than anybody. Even Ritter is quick on his feet.
She’s sure they are going to win which is probably why Severide gives in and lets her pitch another inning. His arm is sore, so he forfeits his pitcher status so that means she’s up again.
So far, she’s striked out most of PD aside from a few badly called balls. Trudy Platt makes a very biased umpire, but what can you do? Severide, aka the self-elected leader, pulled himself out while bases were loaded. Hailey had just reached first, pushing Atwater to second. Now, Jay is up to bat, and he looks determined.
His used helmet tips down and he adjusts, getting into a proper swinging stance. “Show us what you got Brett.”
What is it about men and trash talk?
She bends her knees and winds her arm. Ideally, it should pass through the strike zone without that bat making contact. She reels back and shoots forward, throwing the pale-yellow ball as hard as she can.
Jay swings, but misses, the softball landing in Cruz’s catcher mitt with a thwack. Platt declares her throw as a strike.
“Atta girl!” Stella hollers from the short-stop position. She smacks her hand into the glove and winks.
Okay, maybe Sylvie won’t kill her. She’s too encouraging for that.
Jay murmurs, scuffs his sneaker against the dirt and then repositions. He holds the bat behind his shoulder, and she winds up again, throwing the ball a little higher this time. Jay swings and misses, Platt declaring a second strike.
One more and he’s out and CFD bats again. She can easily do this.
“You got this, Brett.”
She looks over her shoulder. Matt’s playing first base because, duh, he’s just that good. He grins at her which causes a wave of nervousness to rush over. Before, she felt confident, but now with Matt’s very blue eyes tracking her every movement, she has butterflies.
God he looks so good. This Saturday evening hue does wonders for him.
Once Jay repositions again, she winds her arm back. She rotates her joint in a circle and releases the ball once it’s straight. It soars in the air harder than the previous ones and she watches Jay’s shinny blue bat make contact. Her eyes drift back onto Matt so she can watch him in action. She registers the harsh clinking noise and hears a simultaneous gasp amongst PD players inside the dugout.
She’s not sure what that is about until the ball comes flying back in her direction and beams her directly in the side of the head. Everything goes dark and before she can process anything, she tastes rich dirt on her lips.
There are a lot of voices all around her, but the throbbing inside her skull and eye socket makes it hard to process any of it. Jay can really hit the ball which should’ve been obvious. The man hits doors with battering rams for a living.
He has some power.
“Sylvie, can you hear me?”
Oh great. Matt, of course he’s here. Of course, the man she can’t get out of her damn head just witnessed her not so graceful face plant into the dirt.
This is humiliating.
His warm, rough hand grazes the back of her head. Despite not being able to open her eyes, she knows his face is right in front of hers. His voice sounds close, and she can also smell the faint scent of the cologne he probably put on before all this.
He grips her shoulder with his unoccupied hand. “Hey, I need you to open your eyes.”
The tone of his voice somehow lessens the pain, so she tries to blink. At first, everything is blurry. All she can see is redness and several sets of feet. After she lets her eyes adjust, she realizes she’s on her stomach. Her right eye is also swollen and throbbing.
“Hey, she’s coming to!”
Stella? Sylvie rolls herself onto her back covering her bad eye. Stella’s crouched next to her, shouting at Foster who is rooting around in the dugout. She’s probably looking for a first aid kit.
The game has apparently stopped. Everyone is crowded around her like she’s some zoo extraction. It is so embarrassing.
“Sylvie, hey? Are you alright?” Matt asks, allowing his hand to cup the side of her face. His worried features are blurry, but still tense.
“Geez, is she okay?”
Jay’s bent at the waist, hands on his knees by her feet. His expression is a mixture between worry and guilty.
Matt shoots him a tense glare, voice low and angry. She’s heard him talk like this on scenes with uncooperative people. “What do you think? You beamed her in the head.”
She’s sure poor Jay didn’t mean to do it. He just had a great hit and maybe if she wasn’t admiring Matt, she could’ve ducked.
Matt turns his attention on her again, narrowed eyes growing soft. His fingers brush some dirt off her face. “Hey, can you talk to me? Do you know where you are?”
Unfortunately, she does.
Her stomach churns at the reality of all this along with the pain. She feels herself grow pale.
“I’m going to be sick,” she murmurs, turning onto her right side by Stella. If she’s going to lose her sandwich Cindy packed for all of them, she’d rather Matt not witnesses that. She’s sure Stella won’t appreciate it, but this is also kind of her fault. She talked her into this.
When she’s on her side, the nausea dissipates. After she feels better, she rolls onto her back. Somehow, she ends up in Matt’s lap with his arm supporting her shoulders.
Emily runs over with the pitiful first aid kit someone left behind in the dugout. When she unpacks it, there is only a small bottle of rubbing alcohol and a warm ice pack.
Sylvie feels something wet roll down her face. She touches the skin above her eye and realizes it must’ve split open from the ball's stitches. She’s bleeding.
“You need a hospital, partner,” Foster says. “You’ll probably need stitches and a CT.”
Yeah, she’d agree she has a concussion. A cop’s strength will do that to a person.
“I’m so sorry, Brett,” Jay apologizes.
She gives him a thumbs up and mumbles, “It’s fine.”
Matt looks down at her, gently caressing her head. “I’m going to take you to Med.”
“What about the game?” Severide asks.
Both Stella and Matt glare through his soul. Although, she’s not upset with him at all. She doesn’t expect they stop the game all because of this.
“She’s bleeding and concussed. I think you’ll survive forfeiting the game,” Matt retorts.
“No, keep playing,” she insists, wincing at how talking aggravates her injury. “Cindy or someone from the stands can take me.”
“No way,” he argues. “I got it.”
Oh god. This can’t get any worse. She loves how much he cares, but he’s killing her.
Stella must notice because she pipes up. “It’s okay, Casey. I can take her. You keep playing.”
Matt begins maneuvering her in his arms. She groans as he just barely jostles her. She’s seeing stars.
“No offense Kidd, but I don’t think you can carry her to the car,” he replies.
Carry? She can probably walk.
“Casey, I can walk,” she protests, but he doesn’t listen. He slides one arm under her back and legs.
“No, you can’t Sylvie,” he replies. “Hold onto me.”
She has no choice but to do what he asks. She wraps her arms around his neck, and he hoists her in his arms like she’s weightless. The movement makes her dizzy, so she rests her head on his broad shoulder.
Despite how embarrassing this is, she can’t say she’s miserable. This is surprisingly nice.
“Kidd, can you grab my keys from my bag and help me get her in the truck?” He requests.
“Sure.”
Sylvie ignores the commotion around her and focuses on how nice it feels to be in his arms.
:::
She winds up behind a curtain in Med’s ER with one of Matt’s old t-shirts against her bleeding eye as she waits. Unfortunately, the ER is overflowing with people who are in worse shape so she’s stuck waiting. It doesn’t matter that Matt already made an enemy out of one of the doctor’s she doesn’t know after he demanded she get some ice; she still has to wait.
The bleeding has slowed, but she’s definitely dizzy. Matt had of course carried her in despite the many many times she insisted she could walk. He never listened because he carried her until he gently sat her on the gurney.
Now, he’s standing next to her with one of her hands tight in his. He took off the hat at some point, so his hair is disheveled and messy. It’s not a bad change.
She really didn’t think he’d stick around, but they’ve been waiting almost an hour and he’s stayed by her side. She’s somewhat reclined back with her knees propped up and her left-hand holding pressure against her face.
He told her ten minutes ago that Stella texted that she and Emily were trying to visit, but with the ER so packed, the nursing staff wanted all unnecessary visitors out.
She understands and as much as she loves her friends, Matt is great company too.
She squeezes Matt’s fingers to lessen the pain because her eye is throbbing and swollen. He must notice the additional pressure because he turns his head and frowns.
“Hey, is it getting worse?” He asks.
“No, just throbs every now and then. I guess that is happens when you take a softball to the eye socket.”
So far, he’s been standing next to her, leaning on the railing every once and awhile after stretching his back. Now, he reaches for one of the plastic chairs with one hand and drags it next to her. He sits down, resting both elbows on the railing and moves his free hand to her head.
He sweeps some hair out of her eyes. “Yeah, Halstead hit you hard, Brett.”
She bites her lip to keep from laughing. “Yeah, I know Casey. I felt it.”
Matt chuckles, letting his hand rest on the top of her head. “I bet. You dropped to the ground instantly. I don’t think anyone had time to react.”
God, that’s so embarrassing.
She groans. “Just great. That’s not humiliating at all.”
“Oh, come on,” he replies. “There is nothing embarrassing about getting hurt. It was Halstead’s fault. Not yours.”
“He didn’t mean to hit me. It was a good hit,” she says. “I should’ve ducked or gotten out of the way. It’s not Jay’s fault.”
He leans back but keeps ahold of her hand. “I don’t care. You shouldn’t have gotten hit like that. You’re going to need stitches and you probably have a concussion.”
She ticks one finger in the air. “Definitely have a concussion. Paramedics know these things, but hey, at least I didn’t break anything.”
The second she makes the joke, she regrets it. Matt’s expression shifts and she berates herself for making light of the Arnow fire.
“I…I’m sorry,” she whispers, squeezing his hand. “I shouldn’t have…”
He shakes his head and shifts his gaze down. “No, no, you’re right. I guess it’s kind of hypocritical of me to be upset with Halstead for hurting you when I did the same.”
She’s so stupid. How could she bring this up? It’s not Matt’s fault. She’s never blamed him ever.
“Casey, you didn’t…” she chews on the inside of her lip. “It wasn’t your fault. I would never blame you for what happened.”
He meets her stare. “I called you in, Brett. I told you it was safe. That’s on me.”
She knows he holds so much guilt over that day, especially Otis’s death. It’s unnecessary because it wasn’t on him. It was the factory’s negligence that caused the blast.
“You thought it was,” she replies. “Everyone did. There was no way for you to know. I don’t blame you and you shouldn’t blame yourself.”
“Yeah,” he replies, but she can tell he doesn’t believe it. He probably never will.
She switches gears and lets her gaze settle on his hand, watching as his rough thumb grazes her pointer finger in soothing patterns. Originally, she thought this injury was a curse, but it’s kind of a blessing. It’s nice to see how much he cares.
He’s a great guy.
“You know,” she whispers, looking up at him. She wants this next confession to really sink in. “More than anyone in the world, I’d trust you with my life. I really would, Casey.”
The signature solemn Matt Casey looks changes. The corner of his mouth ticks up in a small grin. “I appreciate that.” He clears his throat, and she swears his cheeks turn a little red, but that might just be her impaired vision. “When Boden came over the radio and said someone was hurt…I was really hoping it wasn’t you. I mean, I didn’t want Foster or anybody else to be really hurt, but I don’t know.”
She holds her breath in anticipation. The confession startles her to her core. What does that even mean?”
“I guess what I’m saying is…worst case scenario for me was that it was you who was hurt…well, aside from the absolute worst…”
She gently interrupts him. They both know what he means. “Yeah, I know.” She decides to shift the tone. “I knew I’d grow on you eventually.”
Huh, maybe that wasn’t a good idea. She is concussed and the pain meds just now kicked in. She’ll blame her loose filter on that.
Matt chuckles, scratching the back of his neck. “Well, I wouldn’t say you never did. I mean, I’ve liked you since the day I met you.”
Platonically, she reminds herself.
She purses her lips. “No, you definitely didn’t. We barely knew each other. I was just…”
Gabby’s best friend.
God, she’s the worst person ever. She shouldn’t be holding Matt’s hand right now. It’s wrong.
She tries to ease her hand away, but his grip never waivers.
Whatever. If he’s okay with it, so is she.
It’s all friendly anyway.
“Okay,” Matt concedes. “Maybe it took me a couple years to really appreciate you in all your glory, but I had a lot going on. Now, I don’t know…I guess it’s easy with you. I mean, talking and hopefully, building a friendship.”
His sentence trails off with a question. She can’t believe he would think for one second that she doesn’t consider him as a friend.
She does.
The pain meds are leaving her feeling fuzzy. She grins, readjusting the shirt that smells like Matt against her eye. “See? I knew you’d fall in love with me.”
Oh my god.
She lifts her head and the room spins, but she’s too immersed in her panic to clock her symptoms.
Did she really just…
To her surprise, Matt doesn’t look appalled by her stupid slip-up. He’s actually grinning in amusement.
“Oh my god,” she whispers. “I didn’t mean…pickles.” She shakes her head, averting her gaze onto the tiled ceiling. “Platonically of course. I meant platonically fall in love. I say the same thing to Severide which I obviously don’t want him in love with me. Not that he would. I mean, he’s madly in love with Stella which I want! I want my best friend so happy. I’m not…oh my god.”
She feels like a human car crash. Every move she makes causes more damage.
“Brett,” Matt laughs.
“Obviously you’ll never fall in love with me,” Sylvie says. It’s true. “Nor would I ever in a million years want you to, Casey.” Unfortunate lie.
He raises his eyebrows. Did she offend him?
“You’re not my type. You’re not unattractive obviously…I mean, I’m not saying I don’t think your…”
Now would be the best time for her blood vessels to pop if she does in fact have a brain bleed. It would shut her up, but also give her an excuse to hide behind after all that word vomit.
“Sylvie,” he interrupts, lightly patting her head. “You’re drugged up on pain pills. Probably best you stop talking.”
Yeah, definitely not a bad idea.
“I’m sorry,” she whispers. “I’m so sorry. You can um…I can wait alone. I don’t want to put you out. You probably have things…”
“You better not be trying to push me away now,” he says. “I like being here for you, okay? And I like that you seem to like it too. Just let me.”
Gosh, he’s so earnest. It amazes her.
“I do like you here. I appreciate it,” she says. “I really do.”
She does.
Appreciate him.

Hot Vintage Stage Actress Round 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ethel Merman: Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes (1934 Broadway); Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun (1946 Broadway); Mrs Sally Adams in Call Me Madam (1951 Broadway); Liz Livingstone in Happy Hunting (1957 Broadway); Rose Hovick in Gypsy (1960 Broadway)
Thelma Ritter: Miss Batterson in The Shelf (1926 Broadway); Sally Stewart in In Times Square (1931 Broadway); Marthy in New Girl in Town (1957 Broadway); Shirley Amber in UTBU (1966 Broadway)
Propaganda under the cut
Ethel Merman:
YOU EITHER GOT IT, OR YOU AIN'T. AND BOYS, SHE'S GOT IT.
She is THE star!
She doesn’t even need propaganda so here’s a story copied from wikipedia about an absolutely iconic comeback she had to her fourth husband, the big dick energy is off the charts: An oft recounted story from their short marriage demonstrated the volatility of their relationship. When Borgnine asked Merman how her audition had gone, she replied: "Well, they were mad about my 35-year-old body, my 35-year-old voice, and my 35-year-old face." "Is that so?" Borgnine responded. "And what did they think of your 65-year-old cunt?" Without missing a beat, Merman retorted: "You weren’t mentioned once."

youtube
I know this song is having a moment on TikTok with a different singer, but considering she's been bumped from the film bracket and really is better known for her theatre work, it IS her turn!
youtube
From a movie role but shows the kind of presence she could have in stage settings!
youtube
All of these examples -- which are only a small selection of the shows she opened -- were written for her; she was that essential to the Golden Age of musical theater. Titanic, stupendous, blow the roof off, staggering. For his 12th birthday, my dad's parents got him tickets to Gypsy; fourth row, dead center, he said seeing Ethel was the most exciting moment of his life.
Thelma Ritter:
Bold, brassy, a killer Brooklyn accent, Thelma Ritter took no shit and audiences adored her for it. In whatever she appears in, her character ALWAYS knows best, and she is an undoubted scene stealer. Her dick is larger than any other woman in the 20th century, and I will love her forever for that!!

I love Chicago Fire and Stellaride is my number one OTP, but with Matt, Sylvie and Brettsey off-screen, it does feel like something ended, and I'm surprised because they aren't my faves 😅😅
Yeah, I have to agree with you here. It definitely felt like an end of an era, or something like that. Like the final cigar chat - things like that just really hit home for me.
it doesn't help that the other week I realised that everything I really wanted out of one chicago I've gotten, and that technically most likely at the end of these seasons/next season, I could happily stop watching knowing all my ships has gotten their happy endings. And that yeah, I'd love to carry on watching to see Violet, Ritter and Kevin get theirs, but I'm also very happy with how their lives are right now.
Up until a few weeks ago, I was seriously considering quitting CF after the wedding because while Stellaride are my main babies, my OTP of cf, they're married, Kelly came home to her. But the hints that we'll be potentially getting our Stellaride baby is what convinced me to stay (and also because I do really enjoy watching CF as a casual show if not my all consuming one vs pd). But after we get their baby? I don't know if I'll carry on - quit while I'm ahead, you know?
And the same goes for cpd. After I get my Burzek wedding, I'm still trying to decide if I'll continue. I'm more likely to continue with fire, as I said, I do like watching it casually whereas I don't with pd.
Idk, just with the brettsey wedding, it feels like now is a good time that if I want to stop, I should, because it does feel like an ending.
Thank you for asking!!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY HTTYD FANDOM! | HTTYD TALKS | DRAWING PARALLELS
Can you imagine? It's has been 13 years since the world of Berk and the archipelago opened up to us. Since we entered this crazy, viking village 12 degrees north from hopeless and a few degrees south of freezing to death.
I reckon the HTTYD anniversaries might kick off a little differently for fans all over the globe depending on its opening, because DreamWorks commemorated the HTTYD's 13 years on the 22nd of March on Instagram, though I distinctly remember it opening where I was on the 27th because it was also my birthday and I wanted to watch a movie.
Which means, yes, guys, I'm turning 24 today! HAHA! To mark this double celebration, I thought of doing something fun and a little different from my usual posts just to get the ball rolling. So, question, have you guys ever watched She's Out of My League?
She's Out of My League is a Jay Baruchel movie. A rom-com produced by Paramount Pictures AND (wait for it...) DreamWorks Pictures. It was released in March 2010 which meant that our Hiccup-voice-actor here had two movies playing at the cinema simultaneously.
I remembered that I wasn't allowed to watch the movie, but my older brother (10 years older than me) snuck me into the theatres to watch. I remember him covering my eyes for a bit and not understanding a lot of the humour back then, but I did remember the premise, so here goes...
Premise:
Kirk (Jay Baruchel) is your everyday, average Joe. Coupled w the fact that he is somewhat a pushover and insidiously insecure, he tries to get back with his manipulative ex-girlfriend Marni. After that failed, he stumbles onto the path of the beautiful Molly, who by beauty standards, personality and life-style choices is considered a hard 10, while he is rated a mere 5.
When Molly seems to take an interest in Kirk, the whole world is put out of balance and their friends smell impending doom by virtue of their different "social ratings." However, are these standards real, or just a social construct that needs debunking?
______________________________________
I'm not here to criticise the movie. I'm sure we all have our thoughts. Nor am I saying that this movie or the romantic storyline holds a candle to the HTTYD franchise or Hiccstrid, but, it was hilarious to discover a number of parallels between these two worlds.
DRAWING PARALLELS
THE CHARACTERS
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kirk Kettner (Jay Baruchel) - The awkward underdog, highly underestimated by everyone including himself and doesn't see that he is, in fact, more than his make.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Molly (Alice Eve) - The beautiful, blonde and determined love interest. Lawyer turned successful events planner. Independent, fiercely confident and a real go-getter.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Devon (Nate Torrence) - The nicer friend in Kirk's friend group. An adorable, huggable sweetie pie who still believes in magic and romance.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dylan (Kyle Bornheimer) - The guy you'd love to hate. He is Kirk's overbearing older brother who bullies Kirk to mask his own insecurities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stainer (T.J. Miller) - The quick talking, witty side-kick whose crazy ideas propels the storyline into an absurd direction. Who is actually, also Tuffnut.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Katie (Kim Shaw) - Molly's younger, dimwitted sister who is just getting by.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Patty (Krysten Ritter) - Molly's best friend and business partner. Strong-willed, independent and fiercely loyal.
THEME, MESSAGE & STORYLINE
(1) IT ISN'T ABOUT HOW YOU LOOK LIKE, BUT WHO YOU ARE ON THE INSIDE
It's a cliche to say, beauty is from within. But it doesn't make it less true. I think what makes Molly attractive is because she is a really nice person, adaptable. Her beauty is an aspect of it. Imagine if Molly had Marni's personality. The story would've turned differently.
This is also Kirk's selling point. The pinnacle of his entire personality is the nice guy card, it's what attracts Molly.
Likewise w Hiccup, he is a genuinely good guy. You can't fault him for his courtesy. Though Kirk's personality seems more like a caricature of Hiccup's, ironically. And, Hiccup's strength and leadership is not something you'd notice on his person but in him.
(2) YOU NEED TO BE GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOURSELF
I loved Portrait of Hiccup as a Buff Man [Episode 8, Season 1 (Riders of Berk)] for many reasons, but mainly because it was the episode Hiccup proves to himself that he is worthy.
She's Out of My League was a movie about Kirk learning that he is worthy. That he isn't just a five, that this whole rating system is nonsense. He was always good enough for Molly, he was never good enough for himself.
DON'T FORGET TO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE EPISODES FROM RIDERS OF BERK. THE LIST IS OPENED ALL WEEK!
Which is your favourite ROB episode (Part I)
Which is your favourite ROB episode (Part II)
Though She's Out of My League didn't dive into Kirk and Molly's relationship and life after they got back together, I am assuming Kirk found his courage in someways. He ends up flying a plane, which is a life long dream of his, he dreamt of becoming a pilot. And well, we all know that if Hiccup existed today, and was a real person, he would've been a pilot too. Maybe in the AirForce, on a jet black plane named Toothless.
HICCSTRID MOMENTS
No review of mine is complete without Hiccstrid.
Kirk and Molly have roughly the same hair colour as Hiccup and Astrid. My favourite scenes in She's Out of My League are the romantic montages of them going out. This is one of my favourite shots from the show:
Tumblr media
I crushed hard on Jay Baruchel. I mean, the dude has got some game. I mean, awkward af, but still, he's pretty cute. I mean... let me show you...
Tumblr media
I'm still smiling!
THE ROMANTIC MONTAGES IN SHE'S OUT OF MY LEAGUE FELT LIKE A HICCSTRID AU FAN FICTION GOT PRODUCED INTO A MUSIC VIDEO!
Tumblr media
I'm not recommending you guys watch this show by the way. If you haven't that is. If you're not used to this type of adult-comedy, you might not like it. The pacing is a little choppy, and it does slap you w many cringy moments. But sometimes, its just so ridiculously hopeless you can't help but laugh.
I don't remember if the show did well, but its not a bad movie (to me). It was underrated for what it was trying to accomplish, but it could definitely do w some refining . Like, I would've loved it if they developed the characters and the romance more.
But at the time the movie was released, I think a lot of people related to Kirk. The whole, "on a scale of 1 to 10" thing has messed w a lot of confidences.
As a teenager, I reckon that's more of a problem. I remember that popular girls in school were always pretty and the hot guys were always good looking. And well, it's hard to not believe that looks don't play a part.
But, once I grew out of it, I honestly found those attributes to come in second to many other qualities of a person. Looks just happen to be a bonus. Hahaha, look at me, a day older and already issuing unsolicited advice.

Chicago Fire 12x1: Barely Gone
What I Liked:
Opening with a Stellaride shower scene! They're just so beautiful!!
I love when Kelly gets an OFI case. Always good stuff.
Herman & Kidd fighting over Ritter.
Brett just being her normal supportive, happy self. I squealed at that picture of her & Julia. Then I laughed at the others b/c it's terrible photoshop.
Severide, Carver & Cruz!!!
Brett suggesting Carver take Violet as his date to the wedding. She knows Violet has or had a crush.
What I Didn't Like:
Gallo leaving.... but I understand family comes first.
The disagreement over Kelly working the OFI case. I get both sides but yeah....
Something's up with Herman & I have a feeling it's not good.
Gallo, Ritter & Violet goodbye. Tears! Gonna miss them.
Stellaride
Ok so Kelly is clearly passionate about this OFI stuff. What he did was wrong. Not contacting her at all b/c you can easily conclude that he loves the work more than her. She was an afterthought. She's scared that he will do the same thing again, but a compromise has to be made. He took his name off the Special Investigators List & he's clearly upset about that. It can quickly turn into resentment. Considering his comment to her before they got married "of course you're happy b/c you got what you wanted" something like that. It can get bad fast. I just hope they don't turn him into Jay.
I don't see this ending well & I think they might be headed for divorce if something doesn't give.
Brettsey
Don't care about Brettsey. It's just such a boring & forced ship. However, I'm happy for Brett. Specifically for her & baby Julia. She finally has the family she's been wanting. I loved this storyline with Dawson even tho it ended in 💔. Wishing the best for Brett/Julia.
Stella/Carver
Until I get confirmation with actions/words, I'm going to assume Carver still has feelings for Stella. It has been six months so maybe those feelings started to die when Stella went after Severide. They still have a past together that hasn't been revealed yet & I suspect they are saving it for a reason. I just know he's really good at hiding his true feelings when it comes to her.
Violet/Carver
Either they are hooking up or it's something else entirely. I think they are cute & there's chemistry. Although she seems annoyed or that's just a front.
Violet/Brett
Another duo I'm going to miss. That scene was so sweet. Violet is going to be amazing as PIC b/c she had such an amazing example.
Top 3 characters:
Hermann
Severide
Brett
POSSIBLE EXITS:
Severide & Hermann

Relationship fun facts: ❤️Jake X Lyra💛
1. Lyra met Jake when she accidentally missed her bus going home when it was pouring down rain. Having cat like tendencies, Lyra hates being caught in downpours. He was the only one willing to take her to her home city (she worked in one city but lived in another at the time) and she paid him handsomely for it. Also brought him extra towels for getting the backseat of his taxi wet.
2. Hated the silence so kinda talked his ear off that first ride. He tried to keep up looking grumpy and a hard ass but it was HARD. She was cute, funny, outgoing...basically everything Jake Lockley wasn't. But oddly he kinda liked it. And then he spotted the cheetah in his backseat and knew he was a goner (thinking "Dios mio, she's like me" o.o)
3. After about the third or fourth ride, they kept looking for each other. Neither will admit this to one another but they'd tell anyone who asked, thinking nothing of it. It was just business...right?
4. Khonshu was NOT happy about learning that Jake was essentially doing favors for his ex's avatar. Mafdet was at first not happy about seeing her ex's avatar in the driver's seat, but she thought it was amusing (and she's petty as hell at the thought of her bitter ex driving her around) so encouraged the relationship...just to piss Khonshu off. Smart? Perhaps not. But it made her feel GREAT!
5. Jake was the one who asked Lyra out (note: the pigeon was NOT happy about this, and Mafdet was smug as hell) and their first date was at a sushi place. It was something they both enjoyed, and again Lyra led most of the conversation.
6. Neither of them knew of each others hero identities but worked together on a couple missions. She only ever met Marc and Steven as Moon Knight and had no idea that Jake was a part of their system.
7. Jake and Lyra made themselves official after their fourth date, which involved Jake breaking them into a still closed ice skating rink for a quiet and romantic evening on the ice lit by Christmas lights (he got inspiration for it from her favorite Christmas move, Last Christmas).
8. Jake told her about his condition shortly after that, and he was afraid Lyra would freak out or end things. Life with him wasn't going to be easy, and he wanted to give her a chance to bow out if she wanted to with no hard feelings. But Lyra admitted she loved him, all of him, and wanted this to work. She understood why he was the way he was, as she came from a similar background.
9. Lyra took actually meeting his alters very well. She knew them as Moon Knight and Mr. Knight, but getting to know them as people was interesting, as it was for the boys learning about her outside of the Lady Karma persona. Telling Layla was a whole other story, and at first she didn't take it well, but Lyra refused to let them give up their marriage for her and Jake. Of course Jake was hesitant but ultimately agreed with Lyra's reasoning. As selfish as he wanted to be, he couldn't do that to Marc.
10. Fights between them are rare but are kinda comedic. They go back and fourth between Spanish, English, and German. One of them will say something wrong or mess up the grammar in their other tongue and they'll stop the argument to correct them (gently of course, no matter how serious the argument is, learning a new language is hard peeps), which actually normally stops any disputes. It's actually amusing for the others to watch.
11. They have a lot of nicknames and titles for one another. Lyra calls Jake Mein Falke (my falcon, as Khonshu was depicted as a falcon in mythology), my knight (sometimes calls him Mein Ritter), or simply love or Liebe. Jake will call her by names in his tongue too, such as: mi gueparda (my cheetah), gatita (kitten, if he's feeling...extra affectionate), mi Reina (my queen), or, like her, simply love or mi amor. They get really extra about it
12. They did have a very small wedding ceremony. Nothing legally binding, but Lyra wanted a traditional Egyptian wedding. Steven and Layla actually worked together to plan it, as they knew more about ancient Egyptian customs than Lyra and Jake did. While it wasn't legally binding, since it was done in traditional Egyptian custom, in the eyes of the gods Lyra and Jake are married. Tawaret, who was super happy about this, was there to witness it and make it official. Again, Khonshu was not happy and wanted to object, but the other gods basically told him to shut the hell up and let his avatar have this ONE thing to make him happy. He sulked the entire ceremony and reception afterwards....

The Buffy Re-watch: S2E11 (part 1)
Ted
So I'm putting a Trigger/Content Warning here, just in case. Watching this episode back has made me think about Ted in a way that I didn't know about when first viewing and now due to personal experiences and the more frequent discussions of manipulative and abusive relationships being talked about on the internet has made me see this episode in a new light.
The Captain and Tennille? That's a throw back.
Buffy catching her mum kissing another guy. Awkward. Parents dating is awkward, having gone through it when my own dad started dating again. I was genuinely happy that he was because it meant that he was doing better mentally to be able to open himself up to new people. But having some stranger appear in you life and say they are dating your parent is still weird.
The late John Ritter. I actually don't know his work too well. His shows didn't get much air time here in the UK when I was growing up, as far as I am aware. This is the only thing I know him from. From what I have heard he was a good guy and very much missed.
I get why Buffy is a bit standoffish. Her parents divorced and she is wary about someone new coming into their lives that could potentially leave like her dad did. She doesn't want herself and especially her mum to go through that hurt again. She is more supportive in season 5, but that's after some maturing and realising that her mum deserves to be happy and to be loved. Also more time, the divorce was still pretty recent at this point, by season 5 the divorce was not as fresh and both Joyce and Buffy had moved on from it. Though still not a great first impression.
Take your anger out on the vampires Buffy. Even Giles is feeling sorry for them when Buffy is pissed off.
Is it fair to say that Buffy has separation anxiety when it comes to her mum in this episode? That is also present when Dawn joins the show in season 5? There is a certain amount of jealously involved with people getting most of her mum's time and she isn't the centre of attention. It could be that, but there could be more.
Okay, if Ted wasn't evil, as he turns out to be, then he would be doing some good by trying to get along with Buffy's friends and including them in social outings. But since he is evil, it falls more on the sided of manipulation to keep Buffy from noticing something is off, so then he can get closer to Joyce without raising suspicion. With Buffy being the only one feeling something is off with him, and everyone else not seeing it and believing he is just a normal person, makes Buffy look bad and is less likely to be believed later on when he becomes violent. Right now, all Joyce, Willow and Xander see is a nice man trying to build a relationship with a group of people. This is common for people who are manipulative to do, present one side of themselves to the public and be nice and friendly and charming, when behind closed doors, they are the opposite. If anyone speaks out against them, they won't be so easily believed because everyone else just sees the persona that is presented. And it's hard to break through other people's perceptions of others, unless presented with irrefutable evidence. I speak from personal experience unfortunately.
Jenny needs some time and space away from Giles. He rightfully feels guilty for what happened to her and misses her.
Buffy ranting to Angel about Ted. She just misses her old family unit, and needs someone to listen to her about her concerns.
Never played mini golf, don't plan on it any time soon.
Ted prying into Buffy's school life does feel very invasive at this stage.
And there Buffy's concerns are founded to her and the viewer. Ted is abusive, at the moment it is just verbal, but later it does become physical, and it's a quick escalation. Not much time passes in the show between the scene at the mini golf place and what happens in Buffy's room. Only about 48 hours. But Joyce doesn't notice it because Ted has his persona down. Joyce literally laughs off what Buffy tells her and tells her she is lying, because Ted told a convincing and contradictory story. Also the drugged food is helping him get away with it.
Never seen Stepford Wives, probably should at some point but I do understand the reference that Buffy is making and it is apt.
Ted's nickname is 'The Machine' and he has a wedding planned for two months time. More red flags.
the Buffy notices that the photo on Ted's desk is the one from the fridge that we see at the beginning of the episode.
I'm going to leave it here. I didn't realise just how dark this episode feels when you are able to identify the tactics Ted is using to manipulate Joyce and isolate Buffy. Leaving the twist out of it for a second and it feels too real.

Slender man Headcanons cus well- nobody sends me request.
Keep in mind these are my Headcanons cus idk canon is wierd
And let's just dive in some of my lore
First Part
Slender is somewhat related to Zalgo.
Now let me explain why, in my Au, arranged marriages are normal in the Underworld. And One of Slenders Aunty's got arranged with the king so Slender and Zalgo are cousins.
Slender doesn't hate Zalgo, just his Aunt (Zalgos mother) manipulated Zalgo in his childhood that his dear cousin wants his Throne. (Game of thrones?)
But now they get along wich makes Slender happy BC he's just a family person.
Our fav baldy is in charge of the Underworld bank.
That's why he hired some wierd lookin hooman with a sliced mouth bcs some people don't pay the bank back:)
Slenderman is really just a nice guy, like why would he hire and 'adopt' humans.
Mama's boy
Pansexual
Hates Chocolate ice cream
Idk why but I like the idea that his last name is Ritter, Knight in English and it's one of the few German names I tolerate lol
He never had and never will have a relationship with someone in his line of work/people who work directly for him (like proxies). In his mind people at work are Nothing more than friends because if it doesn't work out you see each other or have to work together and that is rlly a unpleasant situation.
Asexual King 👑
Don't get it wrong, he had sex before, he's just- he needs time.
His father called him a Sexual dysfunction :(
He's like every other day in the Newspaper of the Underworld
He has actually a phone. Samsung. Surprisingly some Human made it possible that demons and Eldritch beings can indeed use phones.
Jeff and Toby were the first ones in the Manor (the first mortal ones, LJ, Ej, and Jason are a long time under Slendermans wings) and slender learned a lot of them, not just 'young people slangs' but understanding Humans
No he wouldn't love you if you would suddenly turn into a worm.
He finds the Market crash in 1929 funny
He would say he doesn't have a fav brother. But it is Splendor
Don't get the wrong vibe from my Slender, he is a 'good' man indeed, he helps those who need help, respects everyone equally, and he's just a gentleman in his heart and mind. But turn him away, be disrespectful or try to fool him and he will eat you alive and take everything you hold dear.

Before puck drop on the conference finals… group chat wellness check? Especially the Oilers and Maple Leafs. I don’t think there are any Bruins in the gc but watching them hug Bergeron as they left the ice was rough
YOU COME HERE? INTO MY HOUSE BLOG and ask me about the FEELINGS OF THE BRUINS????
No fr fr tho I did see that handshake line and it was very sad.
BUT a wellness check... and a couple of lil spoilers for upcoming gc
Gabe's in surgery - he's recovering, poor Baberiel.
EJ's down in Cali with Paul, holed up and trying not to think about the future.
JT is feeling like the WORLDS WORST CAPTAIN because obviously if he were a BETTER CAPTAIN the leafs would have made it further (he's wrong. It wasn't on him)
Freddie is stressed. Because he NEEDS to prove that he can make it in the postseason but he's not getting as many starts as he WANTS, but also he's won way more games than he's lost. So overall. He's ok
Auston is in carolina, hiding in Fred's apartment. Being his biggest cheerleader and being secretly grateful that they never had to play 5OT
Jacky is mourning the loss of his tooth. Also playoffs are HARD why did nobody tell him that playoff hockey was hard? I mean, obviously he figured it out pretty quickly, but yeah, that's so fucking different to regular season hockey... why did nobody mention it? (spoiler alert, they did)
JSoup is very happy about Jacky's lil tooth gap which he thinks is the cutest thing ever. He lowkey doesn't care about not making it any further because honestly, he wasn't getting the starts and he wasn't expecting the starts and he never knows where he's gonna be, maybe it'll be a cup contender, maybe it won't, he's just along for the ride.
Leon and Connor are fighting, because one of them thinks that they should head down to Florida to support Matthew even though they've only just been kicked out of the playoffs themselves, and the other one thinks they should give themselves a couple of weeks together to lick their metaphorical wounds and just be with each other. It is not the way round we expect.
Jeff is cheering on Carolina like he's never cheered any team on before and if you ask him he'll say it's just because they're his old teammates but truly it's because he just wants the panthers to lose...
Sid and Nate had a brief moment of "should we just go to worlds?" and then decided they were far too old and are on holiday in the sunshine working on their golf
Dylan and Alex are in Toronto chilling with the fam and generally enjoying the off season
Tyler is playing his lil socks off
Matthew is....... Matthew is pretty convinced he's walking around in a dream because none of this actually feels REAL right now. Oh, and also he learnt to advocate for himself a little bit, with some help from his boyfriend
Ritter - is in florida, enjoying "the sun" ;)
Willy and Latts are holed up in their cabin
Jeff and Richie are holed up in THEIR cabin
Danny and Claude would LOVE to be holed up in the cabin, except, well... there are children to look after and they're working hard to give Ryanne a break
Cale is... struggling. Because OK he could feel the team was different from last year but, but, they were the fucking reigning champs, and they lost? In the first round? And he needs to TALK about it, but... he doesn't feel he can talk to Carter because, well, it's a bit shitty to COMPLAIN about losing IN THE PLAYOFFS to someone who's not MADE the playoffs for the past few years
Bobby Lu is having the time of his life
Kaner is sulking. This year did NOT go to plan. Also he's now a UFA... what's with that, he could play ANYWHERE? That's not how hockey's supposed to work... he's a hockey GOD... he's supposed to STILL BE IN THE PLAYOFFS and also he'd very much like to stay in NY please, but he doesn't think that's likely to happen and he really REALLY wants to blame Vladi Tarasenko, if only the fucker wasn't so nice....
Jonny is... dealing with Sulky Peeks. And Baby Pat. And he's still sick, because chronic illness doesn't just Go Away and he's having to make tough decisions and if Peeks could stop trying to make himself the centre of the universe for just one minute... you'd think he'd be used to that by now
Key is having Big Confusing Feelings... nothing new there then. He's in his research era. We stan a man with footnotes.

2, 3, 16 from the year in review asks?
2. How many fics did you work on this year? (They don’t have to be finished or published!)
So, I have posted 30 (though one is still a WIP), and I have two WIPs that will definitely be posted at some point because they are for fan events and one WIP that I really, really want to finish but I have no idea when that’ll happen. And then I have just some…random things I’ve jotted down that I honestly am not entirely sure will form an entire story at this point? Like, I don’t hate them, but I’m not terribly convinced they’ll end up being anything other than cliches, so I don’t know if they’ll see the light of day. Factoring those in, I suppose around 35 or 40 total fics for the whole year?
3 and 16 were answered here!
Buuuut, since 16 is about music and I mentioned that Han/Leia playlist I threw together, I thought I’d include the track list here (I don’t really use Spotify? So I haven’t set up a playlist there.). Fair warning: I like a lot of bummer music and a lot of these choices were made with the intent to touch on their individual issues/angst as well as the angst in their relationship pre-TESB (but not all of it! Toward the end of the list, things get happy. It’s supposed to be loosely chronological.)
(Also, there is more than one Taylor Swift song on here — there are even two in a row because of my whole trying to make things loosely chronological. I’m sorry, non-Swifies; her music catalogue is huge and some things just work, okay?)
Mars - Sleeping At Last
I Wish I Felt Nothing - The Wallflowers
Vulnerable - Sarah Jaffe
Stubborn Love - The Lumineers
Skinny Love - Bon Iver
when the party’s over - Billie Eilish
I Can See You - Taylor Swift
Cosmic Love - Florence + the Machine
Say Something - A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera
Little Lion Man - Mumford and Sons
Haunted - Taylor Swift
Love Love Love - Of Monsters and Men
White Blank Page - Mumford and Sons
Hello My Old Heart - The Oh Hellos
this is me trying - Taylor Swift (this song has just become linked to Han in my head at this point tbh)
Say Don’t Go - Taylor Swift
The Night We Met - Lord Huron
Flee or Fight - Matrimony
The Temptation of Adam - Josh Ritter (okay, this one is gonna seem weird because it is a straight-up narrative, but it has very strong Trip to Bespin vibes and I stand by the choice)
Slow Your Breath Down - Future of Forestry
Fire and the Flood - Vance Joy
Next to Me - Emeli Sandé
Thank you for the questions!

The amount of tissues I went through watching the episodes... i am surrounded by them - literally every single scene with Violet - instant tears
It is no secret that I am not happy about this storyline and think the writers are very dumb for not letting Evan and Violet be another new lead couple.
HOWEVER, despite all of that, Hanako's performance this episode was amazing. I liked the way that they showed her going through grief. Her getting up and saying to herself 'okay', then opening the curtains seeing a gorgeous day with people out and about then closing the curtains, going back to bed and crying. Then the slow steps of getting out of the house even if it was to sit in a hospital.
I really appreciate that they had Severide and Violet to have a bond now. Severide talking about Anna and how he got through that. Sererides analogy of the boat floating with nothing anchoring it was 10/10 - very accurate description to anyone that has ever felt loss.
The smile Severide had when Violet came back to work and heard Ritter, Gallo and Brett hugging her and welcoming her back.
The scene where Violet talks to Severide about how to keep going on with this emptiness inside. THAT SCENE HURT.
That final scene though with the patient. FUCK ME I WAS IN FLOODS OF TEARS. Her talking about Evan and how special he made her feel etc. While I wish it was an actual scene I do love that they took that the picture was legit instead of photoshop or an obvious promo picture - it looks natural and super adorable. The way the patient started to comfort her while she was talking about Evan just fucking broke me into a million pieces.
I am super pissed about this storyline and i am devastated that we have lost Hawkami.
I am just gonna need fanfics and super cute fanedit to help me through this grieving period.

A few hours to S11 to here’s my wishlist for Fire 🔥🔥🔥
No drama for Stellaride. Just let them be hot and happy.
Ritter to have a real storyline and not just play the BFF on the sidelines. He is a great character, who has grown a lot even in the little time he is afforded to be explored and has great potential to be developed even more. He needs to.
I love Violet, she’s a badass and I would love for them to write her not just as a love interest but as she science nerd kickass woman she is in relation to her career.
Javi to be officially adopted by Cruz and Chloe with no drama. He fits with the family, he’s happy, so don’t come up with the aunt who comes back from the dead to reclaim him!
I expect nothing less than some shenanigans from Mouch and Herrmann, better halves friend version. Let them be their usual lovable and cranky selves and I’ll be happy.
More of Capp and Tony, underrated comedy duo.
Papa Boden. That’s the tweet.
With Kylie keeping him in check.
I love the chaotic trio of youngsters and their friendship. It would be great to see them continue working together on business plans without the Gallo/Violet thing in the middle.
I will sincerely miss Tuesday, my best girl. 💕😭 I hope that if is she is gone narratively as well, they will find a way to honor her sweet furry memory.
I have come to appreciate Seager towards the end of S10 and you know what would be great? To see her budding friendship of sorts with Stella develop a bit rather than her playing the third wheel.
A guest appearance by Pelham, my beloved.
I’m still waiting for a The Real Housewives of 51© (Trudy, Donna and Cindy) wine night because that would be absolutely hilarious, highly gossipy and slightly filthy. But we all know it’s not gonna happen. You read it here first, though.
I’m also still waiting for a Trudy vs Herrmann over Molly’s but I have lost hope there. This would be also hilarious.
I would gladly accept a game night on screen in exchange.
